Sage of Stars
Welcome to Sage of Stars, an astrology podcast about self-understanding, personal growth, and learning how to work consciously with life's experiences.
Astrology is more than prediction. It is a language of meaning, a tool for self-discovery, and a framework for understanding the patterns that shape our lives. Each episode explores astrology not as something that happens to us, but as something that can help us better understand ourselves and make more intentional choices.
Whether you're new to astrology or have studied it for years, you'll find practical insights designed to help you recognize recurring themes, navigate challenges, and make the most of your opportunities for growth. Through discussions of natal charts, planetary cycles, houses, signs, and current astrological influences, we'll explore how astrology can become a powerful tool for self-awareness and transformation.
If you're looking to learn astrology, deepen your understanding of your birth chart, or discover how astrology can support real personal development, this podcast is for you. It is also a companion for students seeking astrology education and astrology classes that emphasize understanding, application, and meaningful change.
Because astrology isn't just about knowing what's coming next.
It's about understanding who you are, why you do what you do, and what you choose to do with that knowledge.

Today, there's an interesting entry point into this week where we're going to be having Independence Day. Today, the moon is in Aquarius and it's conjunct to Pluto. So for a few hours, or for perhaps the whole day, our emotional life is going to come face to face with one of Aquarius's deeper lessons, which would be: what does it really mean to be free? What does it really mean to be an independent, free person? I think most people think that freedom means doing whatever it is that you want, but astrology is asking us a deeper question, which would be who or what is making these decisions? Is making the decisions that are guiding us, that are making the decisions that are moving our life in the direction that we go in. Because if our emotions or fears or habits or expectations or the opinions of others are what makes those choices, are we really free? So Aquarius is actually at the core of this. The United States chart, the Sibley chart from 1776, the United States chart actually has moon and Aquarius. So we have moon and Aquarius today. And it's the sign of independence. It's not being rebellious just for the sake of rebellion. It's not about just refusing to cooperate because true independence has something to do with thinking for yourself. Aquarius is an air sign. Air signs are all about thinking. Independent thinking is a part of the um backbone of our country. And as it, like I said, as this day becomes an entry gate into what we're going to be doing this weekend. The moon in Aquarius is calling us forward to have independent thinking. Standing apart from others long enough to discover what actually is true for you is an important part of being independent. It's not about reacting, it's about choosing. It's not about conformity, it's about authenticity. So why we do the things or think the things that we do, why we show up at a dinner party the way that we show up, is that because we believe we should be that way, or is it an authentic part of who we are? And Aquarius reminds us, I think, that becoming ourselves requires sometimes disappointing other people's expectations, and that's something that I think a lot of us have a hard time wrapping our head around. The second part of the transit is Pluto, and Pluto makes the whole thing real. As Pluto is entering into this conjunct conversation, um, it's it's not asking, you know, whether what you say is independent, it's saying what's still controlling you. Because is it approval, is it fear, is it guilt, is it an old identity, is it a family expectation? Sometimes we um think we're making free choices when actually we're just protecting old wounds. Are we preserving an image? Are we avoiding discomfort? Pluto will expose those invisible chains so that we can finally shed them, so we can pull them off. Because freedom, again, is not simply doing whatever it is that we want, it's no longer needing permission to be who you really are. So as the moon and Pluto become conjunct, right? As the moon passes over Pluto, we need to pay attention to the moment where we say, I don't actually have to keep doing this. I can let go of this habit, I could let go of this belief, I could let go of this role that perhaps I've been playing for years. Because every act of genuine independence quietly inside of us. It's that honest decision that we make, that courageous conversation that we have with ourselves. It's that moment where we say, This is who I am right now in this moment, and this is what I'm going to choose. Freedom is something that begins with our relationship inside of ourselves and our ability to change those old habits and those old conditionings. It's one of the greatest aquarian lessons of all. Not just about being different, but being unapologetically yourself. I'm Craig Martin. You've been listening to the Sage of Stars podcast. I will talk to you soon.
