Sage of Stars
Welcome to Sage of Stars, an astrology podcast about self-understanding, personal growth, and learning how to work consciously with life's experiences.
Astrology is more than prediction. It is a language of meaning, a tool for self-discovery, and a framework for understanding the patterns that shape our lives. Each episode explores astrology not as something that happens to us, but as something that can help us better understand ourselves and make more intentional choices.
Whether you're new to astrology or have studied it for years, you'll find practical insights designed to help you recognize recurring themes, navigate challenges, and make the most of your opportunities for growth. Through discussions of natal charts, planetary cycles, houses, signs, and current astrological influences, we'll explore how astrology can become a powerful tool for self-awareness and transformation.
If you're looking to learn astrology, deepen your understanding of your birth chart, or discover how astrology can support real personal development, this podcast is for you. It is also a companion for students seeking astrology education and astrology classes that emphasize understanding, application, and meaningful change.
Because astrology isn't just about knowing what's coming next.
It's about understanding who you are, why you do what you do, and what you choose to do with that knowledge.

This is going to be a big week with lots of great energy to harness. But let's start off with a general conversation about what alignments are and how to understand their effect on us.

So I think we've all heard of when the media talks about something like all the planets are aligning up in the sky, it sounds very dramatic. Um, but the interesting part about alignments is that in astrology, they happen really all the time, and they're a lot more varied than people realize. So only when we have something where five planets are all going to align in one spot in the sky, or there's going to be a train of them, they're going to be dotted in a line across the sky, and those things do happen and they do have meaning, and they are important, but they're only really a small sample of how the planets line up in auspicious ways quite frequently, and we're not necessarily aware of them. So, what is an alignment? It really simply means that the planets form a meaningful geometric relationship with one another. One one that you all know is like an eclipse, right? That's when the sun and the moon are aligned in exactly the same spot in the sky to the point where the moon actually blots out the sun. It's not incredibly rare. It happens um maybe like once every other year or something like that. Doesn't normally happen always over our continent, but it happens somewhere on the planet, about once every 18 months. People, I think, often picture planets, you know, clustered together in one area, but it's only one type of alignment. Astrology is really studying the patterns that they create as they move through the zodiac, which is those 12 signs that the planets always are in front of. So there are a bunch of different kinds of alignments, and that's not really the point of what I wanted to talk about today. But planets can be right next to each other, they can be in opposite sides of the earth from each other, they can make triangular relationships or square relationships, or when several planets are in one sign, that's called a stellium. So there's um multiple kinds of alignments. But the point of me speaking about what is an alignment is more about why they matter, because I think the important idea is that individual planets can describe individual functions, either psychological or um also predictive. But when what when they form an alignment, the functions start to interact, and an alignment tells us how different parts of our personality cooperate, or when we're looking at the predictive part, how multiple planets can be interacting with us together, or certainly with the planet as a whole. So it's less about having an examination of one isolated planet and more about the architecture of the way the solar system is constructed. There's a whole thing about sacred geometry, which has to do with the formation of geometric patterns that seem to not be able to be formed, and yet they form. I think an analogy to all of this is music, and I like using music as an analogy quite often, but one musician can play beautifully on their own. But when you bring several musicians together, right, it's how they arrange the music together. Sometimes it can be harmonious, sometimes not, but it's the tension that eventually turns into the music when a band, when band members get together and they riff, uh, you know, like in a little pub or something like that. The pattern that emerges from them individually is what creates their music. I think that that's what we're talking about here is the way in which there's a music that gets created by the alignments. So when you hear somebody talk about how oh, the planets are aligned, remember it's usually only one expression of a much larger idea because astrology is full of alignments, different geometric patterns that reveal how life's energy is interacting. In the next episode, I'm going to talk about Barbolt's basket, which is a very rare alignment that's happening this week. And I'll talk to you real soon.
