Sage of Stars
Welcome to Sage of Stars, an astrology podcast about self-understanding, personal growth, and learning how to work consciously with life's experiences.
Astrology is more than prediction. It is a language of meaning, a tool for self-discovery, and a framework for understanding the patterns that shape our lives. Each episode explores astrology not as something that happens to us, but as something that can help us better understand ourselves and make more intentional choices.
Whether you're new to astrology or have studied it for years, you'll find practical insights designed to help you recognize recurring themes, navigate challenges, and make the most of your opportunities for growth. Through discussions of natal charts, planetary cycles, houses, signs, and current astrological influences, we'll explore how astrology can become a powerful tool for self-awareness and transformation.
If you're looking to learn astrology, deepen your understanding of your birth chart, or discover how astrology can support real personal development, this podcast is for you. It is also a companion for students seeking astrology education and astrology classes that emphasize understanding, application, and meaningful change.
Because astrology isn't just about knowing what's coming next.
It's about understanding who you are, why you do what you do, and what you choose to do with that knowledge.

Lesson & July 28: The Nodes Change Signs: Being Yourself Inside the Group
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
The Nodal axis shifts today from Pisces/Virgo to Aquarius/Leo. This change will set the markers for the eclipses for the next 18 months and with it the shift in our direction. We're going into a new class, with new learning and a new focus. Can you keep your individuality and still be a part of the group? Or does isolation and distance become your way of dealing? Let's talk about it!

I had said that we have a very auspicious week on tap, and we certainly do because today the moon's north node is changing sign. Another monumental thing for this week, actually. Moon's north node, for those of you who don't know, is something that's calculated. It has to do with the intersection of the path of the moon and the path of the earth going around the sun. But it's something that was noticed by every culture. The uh Chinese astrologers and astronomers called it the dragon's head and the dragon's tail. The Vedic astrologers and astronomers in India called it Rahu and Ketu. And the Western astrologers and astronomers call it the moon's north and south node. And in all cultures, they determined that the meaning of the node axis had to do with destiny and the movement forward from what it is that we've learned and mastered, represented by the south node, and what it is that we're working on accomplishing or mastering or gaining a deeper level of insight and information about, and that's the north node. So the changing of the nodes is an interesting thing for me personally because it fascinates me because it sets up the eclipse cycle. One of the really weird and interesting things about the changing of the node is that it will represent where the eclipses are going to occur for the next 18 months. So because we've had for the last 18 months the moon's north node in Pisces, and uh just by definition, you have to have the south node in Virgo then, because those two signs are opposite each other. Um, all of the eclipses have been in Pisces or Virgo, and the general idea here is that humanity itself is moving in the direction of the North Node. So I think what we've been doing for the last 18 months has been sacrifice, certainly. Perhaps a little bit of martyrdom, a little bit of victimization on the shadow side, but on the positive side, a movement towards compassion and understanding, even if it's been complex and difficult, the South Note in Virgo somehow teaches us that um we need to release the belief that all of our problems can be solved through analysis or control or perfectionism, and that there's something more intuitive and more trusting and more surrendering and more compassionate, that we could be moving towards learning to trust, accepting the idea of uncertainty and allowing that to exist without the need for control, recognizing that not everything meaningful can be controlled. And if we look back at the eclipse pattern, the last one actually was in March of 2026, you can see certain shifts for us personally, but we're all in this collective boat together. We've all been working on being in a place of trust. What's happening today is that this evolutionary axis is shifting. It's going from uh Pisces back into Aquarius, and so it's going north node Aquarius, South Node Leo. And with that change in the nodes, the eclipse story is going to change. There are total eclipses even starting this August, just a month from now, or less than a month from now, and then there's a big one in February of 27, and then there's another one in July and August, a pair in uh uh July and August of 27. All of those now are going to either be in Leo or Aquarius, and the eclipses mark the actual timing of evolutionary events that are moving us towards this new consciousness. What is the Aquarius-Leo consciousness? It's the shift towards a deeper sense of belonging and participation in something that's greater than ourselves. Uh, the Leo part is what we're releasing, the need to define our identity through importance, personal importance, or being recognized, or being the center of the story. So there's going to be a movement away from that towards an even greater sense of the collective. And of course, with Pluto in Aquarius, and we're going to also have a full moon tomorrow that we're going to discuss that's conjunct the um the that's conjunct Pluto, but that's for tomorrow. Sorry, it just sent me into a little mental spiral into like, whoa, that's a lot of Aquarian energy that we're moving into. And it's nice, it's good because we are looking for greater sense of humanity, brotherhood, sisterhood, and understanding of each other, and acceptance of our differences, a greater level of tolerance, um, an ability to just be a little bit more um unemotional, standing there and just observing, okay, this person's different. Okay, that experience kind of hurt me. Can I set a boundary? Can I say this is what's bothering me about it, rather than having to turn to something like um more aggressive or conversely more separating and ghosting, right? That shadow side of Aquarius that we've all come to know and understand is how easy it is to ghost each other in this technological age. We're going to be moving forward into a sense of belonging and participation with group identity. It's not that Leo is wrong. Individual individuality does matter, creativity matters, authentic expression matters. It's just that Aquarius is going to have us ask a different question, which is like once you discover what your light is, what is it for? How are you going to make a contribution or community or shared purpose or the way in which we belong with inside groups without conforming? Or can we be individuals without isolation? Those are huge questions. So today marks the day where we have a new year and a half of an evolutionary direction and shift, and the eclipses are going to mark those as we move through them. I'll be talking more about them when they individually happen. I'm Craig Martin. You've been listening to Sage of Stars. I'm going to talk to you real soon.
