Hi friends, today's message is about AI and the church, wisdom in a digital age. I'm starting a new message regarding artificial intelligence and its impact on the church. Artificial intelligence is no longer something from science fiction movies. It is here and it's rapidly becoming a part of everyday life. From smartphones and search engines to social media and even Bible study tools, AI is shaping the way people think, communicate, and seek answers. The question many believers are beginning to ask is this what place should AI have in the church? Technology itself, well, it's not evil. Throughout history, God has allowed tools and inventions to spread the gospel farther and faster. The printing press made Bibles available to ordinary people. Radio and television carried sermons into homes around the world. And the internet opened doors for online ministry, prayer groups, and global evangelism. Now, AI presents another opportunity, but also another responsibility. Many Christians are already using AI to help summarize Bible passages, organize sermon notes, create devotionals, and answer theological questions. While these tools may be helpful, believers must remember something very important. AI can provide information, but it cannot replace the Holy Spirit. Discernment has never been more necessary than it is today. The Bible warns us in 1 Thessalonians 5, verse 21 do not treat prophecies with contempt, but test all things, hold fast to what is good. Not everything that sounds spiritual is biblical. AI gathers information from countless human sources, and not all of them are rooted in truth. This is why Christians must remain grounded in God's word instead of depending entirely on technology for spiritual guidance. There is another danger believers must be aware of, and that is the reality of constant digital noise can prevent us from experiencing true Sela. Throughout scripture, the word Sela represents an intentional stillness before God. Yet AI and modern technology are training people to move faster than ever. We scroll endlessly, consume information constantly, and search for instant answers without slowing down long enough to hear God's voice. The enemy does not always distract through obvious sin. Sometimes distraction comes through endless activity, notifications, opinions, and noise that crowd out stillness before the Lord. Sela, which involves stillness, has become rare in modern culture. Many believers are spiritually exhausted, not because God has stopped speaking, but because they have stopped pausing. AI can give quick responses, but it cannot create holy silence. It cannot replace the quiet moments where God convicts hearts, restores souls, and speaks peace into weary minds. This is why the church must guard against becoming so fascinated with innovation that it loses intimacy with God. Prayer cannot be automated, worship cannot be programmed. Genuine relationship with Christ still requires time spent in his presence. Yet there is a hope in this digital age. AI may become a powerful tool for evangelism, discipleship, translation, and outreach if it's used wisely and in a biblical manner. The key is making sure technology remains a servant and not a master. As this series continues, we will explore how Christians can walk in wisdom, maintain discernment, and use modern tools without compromising biblical truth. The future is changing quickly, but one thing remains the same. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. And as we ponder upon the absolute, unchanging nature of Christ, I am reminded of the words from a famous hymn that encourages us to make sure of this.
