Hi everybody, it's Richard Beattie, and this is the Create Daily for April 3rd, 2026. A few years back, I wrote an ebook called The New Syndication, which was written for new media professionals who were just out of college and learning how to market media content and distribution. I had just uh left a large media company where I uh syndicated and negotiated with broadcasters on the East Coast, Canada, and Europe reads, listen, and views. A journalist colleague hired me to train his staff on the changes in syndication, and so I wrote a 100-page e-book called The New Syndication, and with it came a new tool to measure audience. RLV was the yardstick to measure ratings, income, and advertising. The secret to success is to create daily. I have learned through the 14 points of quality assurance from the Deming Institute that discipline and daily creative habits are the paths to creative success. And no matter where I go to read, listen, and view, there are reminders of quality from telling the story, playing to the unique offerings of collaboration and cultivation of ideas that develop products or services that lead to endeavors. Each day I work at serving in my community and helping people to understand what and where their soul work will take them. As a coach, Create Daily's main issue and objective is to ignite the creative spirit in myself and in others like you. When we take that to the creative community through recreational, educational, arts, and media travel and transportation with entrepreneurship and apply success each day, we can support each other economically and environmentally and connect community to product services and endeavor experiences. We do not have to brand. What happens is organic and flows in our everyday activities. In June, I will release an e-planner for entrepreneurs that will have my framework for the create daily planner. And now this.

It's what you don't see that can change your life. Every day you open your eyes and the mental checklist of all that you have for the day blocks your vision. You get past the bedroom, the bathroom, the breakfast, and the drive-thru. You arrive at your desk and there are voicemails and emails and snail mails, and you process through until lunchtime. That's what you see every morning. Then, when we rewind the AM and go back, you find the morning that you didn't see. You ran past your husband who was trying to find meaning in his work. You snarfed down the burnt toast and left the coffee maker on and oh, and you cut off your neighbor who was bringing his wife home with their new baby. You were in your own zone as you raced through the school zone. That's what you don't see. That can change your life.

SPEAKER_02

Well, here's something that can change your life. Anna Digital Systems is coming to your town. With fire season being extended in Colorado, Sound Century is quickly rolling out new products and services to digitize documents, photos, audio, video, and art. Through contributions to mutual shares from the Colorado Chapter Committee of the Led in Family Foundation and the Studio Alliance, we are offering realtors, homeowners, businesses, and entrepreneurs our Anna Digital Studio Services that takes all analog originals and makes digital copies saved to the cloud, external hard drives and memory sticks. This is the same system that we have saved hundreds of hours of media for schools, libraries, museums, and art centers. A portion of the contributions will go back into the Mutual Share account to fund other community projects geared to foster entrepreneurship through Colorado and throughout Colorado. These events will be held in several regions and be part of the Colorado chapter of Leadden Family Foundation. Email Richard Beatty at 809 at gmail.com to the create event. Okay, so I go to the doctor and he asks me, How long have you had this problem? All my life. He looked alarmed. You've been seeing spots? No, doctor. All my life. I've been hearing spots. One minute spots, 30-second spots, really well-written spots. I hear spots that get results. They are very good spots. And then he looked into my ears and he asked me, Do you know the legend of the spotted rabbit? The spotted rabbit has never been seen except for a well-defined spot on his back. And yet only people who are tuned into a frequency. I admitted to the doctor that I do hear the spotted rabbit. Will it ever go away? No, replied the doctor. Unless you lose your imagination. Spotted Rabbit. Creative, productive spots that get results. Email paid to thinkradio at gmail.com. Needless to say. And you may think Aspen, Breckenridge, or Vale when you think of Colorado slopes, but up the road on 285, people can get legends, 60s, and 70s oldies while going up to Monarch. What do you think of that, Chris? We're going into our 85th.

SPEAKER_01

85th. Yeah, this is where we're celebrating our 85th season. So happy birthday.

SPEAKER_02

You look pretty good for 85.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, you know, we try. It's what that mountain air does to you up here at Monarch, right? Get outdoors, enjoy the snow, and yeah, you don't look a day over 25.

SPEAKER_02

Well, Monarch is a great area, and people who live south know Monarch pretty well. But and and I think people know of it uh in Denver, but they're always looking at Winter Park or they're looking at the I-70 corridor. But there are really benefits to skiing at Monarch. There's not a lot of hassle going there. It's it's a pretty easy trip. And it's a beautiful scenic drive when you go there.

SPEAKER_01

Tell us a little bit about the history. One of the things that's amazing about Monarch is we are all natural snow here. So from the start until now, it's it's all natural snow. So no snow making. Um, we really pride ourselves on that quality of that, you know, that champagne powder that's so sought after in Colorado. It really gives us a unique experience that separates us from the other resorts. We're really, we're really proud of that. We don't make snow, however, we do farm snow. So, you know, basically early season, we kind of are, you know, gathering snow from anywhere on on the you know, the mountain and the resort that we can to kind of build up our snowpack in the base area, make connection points to areas where maybe the wind has has stripped some of the snow out of there. And we use snow fences all over the place to really catch the snow. So if the wind is is coming from the west, we have snow fences in certain areas to catch it. If it's coming on an upslope storm from the east, we move those fences around so that we could capture the snow there as well. So uh it's really unique, and our our mountain hops team does an amazing job with it. And it allows us to get open, you know, uh as early as we can based on what Mother Nature delivers to us.

SPEAKER_04

Oh my gosh. Wow.

SPEAKER_02

What? What wait? Snow farming? When I grow up, I want to be a snow farmer. Snow farming, also known as snow conservation, is a sustainable practice that involves collecting and storing snow from the end of winter to use at the beginning of the next ski season. How do they collect it? At the end of the ski season, snow groomers gather large piles of snow and compact it into a trapeze shape. Two, insulation. The snow piles are covered with a thick layer of insulating material such as sawdust, wood chips, or mold to protect the snow from melting. Well, how do they store it? The snow is stored in a snow depot. Well, then how do they spread it? When the next ski season approaches, the insulation is removed and the snow is spread into the slopes with snow groomers. Snow farming allows ski resorts to start the winter season earlier and to ensure snow for events regardless of the weather. Oh my gosh. Wow.

SPEAKER_01

And this year you're opening when so no set date yet to open. So that gives us some challenges with snow farming and some areas where we need snow. But we have some very, very deep areas right now. We're set up, you know, to open in the in the near future. We just need a little bit more connection on some of our main artery trails, if you will, to kind of get from the top of the lift to those areas where the snow is. So we're very close. And you know, for us, it's our our stance is always going to be we're gonna open as soon as we possibly can and can do so safely, and also delivering a really good experience for our guests, right? We're we're in business to have lifts spinning and getting people sliding on snow. So um, we do everything we can to make that happen.

SPEAKER_02

Hey everyone, it's Richard Beatty. You're listening to legends953.com. Enjoy the ride with Chris Hagerty of Monarch Ski Area, getting ready for a great ski season up at Monarch. I want to also talk a little bit about one of the other benefits. Uh it's also the pricing, some of the some of the fun um type of passes that you do have, whether it's through age groups or or it's uh just the fact that you can do a two-day pass or a four-day pass. Like, how do all those things uh work out for you? And uh, you know, if somebody's gonna get something for a Christmas present.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, our you know, our our core belief and part of what we feel is our responsibility, the ski industry, is to remain a resort that is family friendly and affordable for many. Um, and and again, we pride ourselves in that. And you know, that's that's not in competition with anyone else. That's just that's who we are, and that's that's what we want to be and what we we stand for. So if you visit our website, skimonarch.com, you'll see all sorts of products that we have out there. So we have season passes that are specific to our resort. We have season passes that are midweek, then we have other offerings where we partner with some other independently owned ski resorts, and you get benefits where you can buy a season pass with us and and go to some of these other mountains that, you know, and you can get a couple of days for free there or discounted rates. So and that that's all detailed out on uh on our website. We also do uh special discounts for our military community, right? We just have Veterans Day just passed, and um, you know, we're big supporters of that. So we lock in a really great price for military and veterans, and you could you can buy that right through the website. We also have what you mentioned earlier, the the four-day pass, you know, for yourself, for your family, um, a gift. You come one time and you're gonna be hooked and you're gonna want to stay here for the whole season. Uh, but if you're not quite sure, that's a kind of a nice product as an entry level, you know, that's a really attractive price point. And then another activity that we have snow tubing. Um, so it's, you know, you might not have to be a skier or snowboarder to enjoy the mountain, and you'll book reservations online. So again, just check out our website, skimonarch.com, and there's there's all sorts of great stuff, you know, whether you're somebody that has never been on the snow before or you're the person that's out there getting 100 days a year traveling around. We even have you know private cat skiing that we offer here in backcountry. So it's got a really big mountain um experience uh with a small mountain feel for the vibe and the culture and kind of how you um interact with the team that works here.

SPEAKER_02

Well, I know how I'm gonna be spending some of my weekends. Uh Chris Haggerty, the new rookie GM at SkiMonarch.com. Take a look at their website. Uh click on Plan Your Trip. It's their 85th year. We'll check back with them periodically on Enjoy the Ride. I'm Richard Arnold Beattie.
