Hello, my name is Aiden, and welcome to this week's weekly news recap, including the following stories Public Safety's new location, Berea College receiving a unique crafts award, and lastly, how students felt about the new security process. Starting off with Quinn and his story regarding Public Safety's recent move. They used to reside in Woods Pen across from Sundela's, which is now Kendri Bowles, but recently moved to the basement of alumni. Including this information, Quinn conducted an interview with Gabby Hatfield, the Public Safety Student Director, regarding such change.

Um, Woods Penn is becoming a like student um success building, so they're bringing a lot of the student life um organizations over there, and they're trying to turn this into more of an administrative building. Um, we're still gonna have dining here, but where it's turning more into an administrative building, we're gonna have to have like public safety and we're gonna keep student life and more like student life types of organizations in this facility. I honestly think that it'll be a good thing because where everything was more spread out, it'll bring more of the same kinds of organizations to the same buildings so you don't have to travel as far to be able to get the help that you need.

Ending this segment of this week's broadcast, following Quinn's segment, we have Jessica Powell learning more about Berea College's recent craft award. Our college has recently been nationally recognized for our students' hard work and overall creativity. The Student Crash Program received a significant reward highlighting our campus on a national scale. They won an award, the National Design Award for Product Design, a nationally recognized achievement from the Cooper Hewittonian Smithsonian Design Museum, which recognizes innovation in product design. This award now establishes our college as the only college to ever receive this mass massive recognition. To hear more about the significance of this award and how our students receive it, listen in to this week's broadcast. Lastly, we have Connor, who took to the streets to engage with our students and ask the important question regarding the recent duo security changes. Me personally, I'm not a fan of such changes, but that's just me. Anyway, here we are with several interviews conducted by Connor with our very own students. What are their opinions on the recent duo changes?

SPEAKER_03

I honestly don't think it's that much of a problem. Um it's just typing in a couple extra numbers. I mean, I personally think it's fine. It feels like it adds a little bit of an extra layer of security, but I know a lot of people have like they think it's very inconvenient, or it just feels like it's another unnecessary step, especially when you have to do it every single time you're logging into Moodle or into your Outlook, or when it becomes all of those things at once, I think it gets very like tedious for some people.

SPEAKER_02

It's certainly uh interesting. It's fun to go in there and uh type numbers constantly. But I mean it it it I mean it could be worse. I mean they could make you do it every single time. Uh like how they do it like UK and stuff. So it's not completely bad, but um yeah, just don't just don't fall for phishing emails, please.
