SPEAKER_01

Hello and welcome to Dad Please, the podcast where our dad and daughter talk about the things we love and the things we definitely don't always agree on. From concerts and city adventures to books, movies, and our favorite foods, each episode is full of stories, laughter, and a little generational debate.

SPEAKER_00

I'm Hamlin, the dad, and I'm Alex, the daughter. Together, we're exploring our favorite places, sharing what we're reading and watching, trying new foods, and of course, telling more dad jokes that anyone actually asks for. So grab a snack, get comfortable, and join the conversation.

SPEAKER_01

Welcome to Dad Please. Welcome to Dad Please. It's me, Alex.

SPEAKER_00

And it's me, Dad.

SPEAKER_01

And today we are deep diving Viva Las Vegas, guys. So for dad's birthday trip, we went to Las Vegas. We went from July 10th to July 12th a weekend. And there was actually a lot going on in Vegas when we got there. So of course we went for the Mary J. Blige concert, which we will get into because she's doing her residency. But actually, what we didn't know across the street, we there was a UFC fight.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I knew I knew that it was because I was gonna watch I'm I'm a big UFC fan, but um I didn't realize that it was right across the board.

SPEAKER_01

Connor McGregor was fighting, which people were very disappointed in.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, Connor McGregor has um he's had a lot of controversial um controversy, which we don't really um go into, but people don't like him, but UFC fans like him. He is I I will never say he's the best UFC fighter ever, but um he is the most popular ever. Like he's the most popular. And they said they made so much money at the UFC for um hit this is the most they made gate-wise because of who he is and how popular he is. And he hasn't fought in five years. And I don't think he just walk away from five years and come back in a sport like that. That's hard. That's a very physical sport.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so that was going on. There was a lot that weekend. I mean, there's always so many things happening in Vegas, you know, but I know those were some pretty big events that were going on.

SPEAKER_00

I know that UFC fight practically took over that weekend, and then that's also it was the um NBA um summer league was there. Um it was a it was a um, I think a high school tournament there as well.

SPEAKER_01

People were seeing Yeah, so there was a lot, but so it was a lot going on, and then we were doing our own stuff as well.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So there, you know, and like I said, like Vegas always has something going on. Always. So it's a very it's a show town, you know, it's a show city, but it was a very fun weekend. So we're gonna, of course, you know, I like to do my things in order, so we're gonna start from the top. So we left July 10th, um, and we flew United. So I was actually really nervous because our plane got delayed like by what, like three something, three hours?

SPEAKER_02

No delayed.

SPEAKER_01

So, you know, Vegas is two hours behind us, so we gained time back, I say. But we were supposed to leave at two and we didn't leave till almost four, which I was kind of a little nervous because we had plans that night. So I was like, oh my gosh, are we gonna make it? But um we did make it anyways, but so our plane got delayed, but we ended up making it to Vegas. Um I we met really cool, really cool lady on the plane. Um, she was telling us about her trip, and she was telling us that it was her kids' first time in Vegas. She was going with her sister, and the kids in her knees.

SPEAKER_00

They weren't like babies.

SPEAKER_01

It was older kids, and she was an older woman as well.

SPEAKER_00

So super tall, her whole family.

SPEAKER_01

She was Yeah, she was really, really tall. So it was fun. They had their own plans. It's always fun to meet people on the plane and stuff. And then literally, as soon as you step out to the Vegas airport, I tell you, slot machines thrown in your face. Everywhere. Like they're like gambling, go ahead, spend your money right away. So many slot machines. They really they really start making their money as soon as they as soon as you land, I will say. Um, but we did go, so the hotel we stayed in was Park MGM because that's where Mary J. Blige was performing, and I wanted it to be convenient, you know, stay in the whole same hotel where she was performing. Yeah, and that hotel was really, really nice.

SPEAKER_00

Very nice.

SPEAKER_01

And it was on the strip, of course.

SPEAKER_00

I mean they didn't smoke free, which was really good because there's so much smoke everywhere.

SPEAKER_01

Because a lot of the hotels you can smoke. But I I was telling dad, I was like, I'm so amazed how these hotels fit so much stuff into it.

SPEAKER_00

It's like magic. Yeah, like they have like Hogwarts.

SPEAKER_01

They have rooms, you know, not just the hotel rooms, they have stores, gift shops, restaurants. They have a whole concert area in the hotel. Like, it's insane how much.

SPEAKER_00

And I mean a hotel looks big, but it doesn't look as big as you as all the stuff that's in there.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and it's just crazy. And it was it was a really nice hotel. And you know, last time I went to Vegas, I was younger, so I didn't get to I went to Vegas with my aunt for the first time. I didn't get to gamble. So I really wanted to gamble. So I did gamble while we were there.

SPEAKER_00

She didn't she didn't gamble a lot. She's not really a gambler, people.

SPEAKER_01

No, I took out $20, I won $15, and then I spent those $15.

SPEAKER_00

She lost it, she lost it immediately.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I was like, I don't know how people sit here and do this. This is not for me.

SPEAKER_00

We went to another hotel and she we went back to the parking gym and then she lost all that money and she went over there.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I I'm not, I don't know how people like wasting money. I am so cheap. I was like, I could spend my money on other things, and this is not but I can understand the the want to win. You know, you win a little, you want to win more, you're like, ah, I can do it this time. This time I'm gonna get it. You don't get it.

SPEAKER_00

She just did the slot machine. She didn't really do a lot of other stuff, like oh yeah, play the tables as they say. When my grandmother, when my grandmother would go, um, she would go to Vegas. Um, my grandmother loved Vegas. My grandmother loved that. And she would go to Vegas and I'll be like, Oh, grandmama, did you win? I said, Oh no, I lost. I said, Oh, you lost. Did you lose? I lost a little bit of money. How much did you lose? Oh, I lost like $10,000. Grandmama, that's not a little money. But sometimes she came back and she won $15,000. And I'm like, You how much you betting that you're losing that much money? I wouldn't bet more than $5 on a table. Yeah, it's like I'm owing the minimum that the table's down $15. I said, Oh my god, on one hand a blackjack. Because that's what I like to play. If I'm gonna gamble, I'm gonna gamble on blackjack. I don't like slot machines.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, no, and slot machines are all luck. If you are it's luck because you just play, you spin and it's just luck.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, if somebody spins and then they're like, oh, my win and nothing, then you come and get it in the aid and spot and helped you win all that money.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so it's like luck involved. It's like playing bingo. You know, I'm a bingo girl, but I'm like, oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and I don't play, I don't play, I don't play um craps either because you know, a girl that would I play crap, she played in the bathroom on the corner. You know, don't tell my mama that though, but being naughty.

SPEAKER_01

But yeah, it was it was very fun. It was a cool experience, and I definitely am not a big fan of gambling, but it was fun to do it.

SPEAKER_00

She was a fan when she won her um $16.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, when I won my little 16 and then I lost it on. I said, you know what never quit. She lost it in like two minutes. I never touched a slot machine after that. I was like, you know what? I'm done. I am not gonna waste any of my money.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, she didn't really, I don't feel like she wasted it because she won the money and won it. And then so she didn't really spend her $20. She lost the $16 that she won. But it takes like, you know, she uh when when um when I took my wife, she lost $5. She's like, this is dumb, and she quit playing. She did not want to do it anymore. Alex was like, okay, I'm gonna get lucky again, I guess. And she did the 15 and it was gone quick. It was gone. I think it's a good one. When I tell you quick, get fast only $20 out.

SPEAKER_01

I was like, that is all I'm gonna spend. So it was it was fun, but I definitely would not do it again.

SPEAKER_00

But we um I will say next time I'm gonna sit at the blackjack table so we can play, but she doesn't know how to play blackjack.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know how to play blackjack, but I will say one thing about Vegas. Now, we're used to heat, okay? Like Texas heat, we're from Houston, you know, the heat is heating in the Himita years, but it's hell Vegas. I don't know if it's because it's a dry heat, but it was like 112 degrees over there. You step out of the airport and immediately like Mike Tyson punch you in the face. Yes, you feel the heat immediately. And so Vegas, like I've said before, I'm very cheap. Okay, and I I told Dad it was like I do not want to pay to Uber. Like, we are gonna walk because the strip is very walkable, you know. So we did end up walking most of the time. We did get a lift a couple times.

SPEAKER_00

A couple times. I think we even got a cab. I'd never rode a change. We get a cab one time.

SPEAKER_01

So I will say we spent about like a hundred to a hundred and twenty dollars on driving. So of course we have to get a lift from the airport to the hotel and then back, so that counted, you know. And then we did get, which we'll tell your story in a bit about that, but we did get an Uber back to the hotel from our magic show, and then just to the basketball game we ended up going to. We went to the city.

SPEAKER_00

Because we were um putting putting so much stuff in one day, and um it was a lot. It was just it was really, really hot. I will say too, um my Alex said that I will say that every Uber driver, lift driver, taxi cab driver we had was amazing. They were really great. They did a really great job. I had like all of them. We have one, the first guy who to um took us.

SPEAKER_01

We won't tell you about the next guy till next time, but the first one.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, he didn't he didn't talk much. Um butcher's cool. Sometimes you just want a quiet rider and it was okay, but he's very nice, very good driver. You look at that too, like they drive well. I've been in the car with some Uber people and they'd be aggressive, but I also understand where they are, they have to be in order to drive there. So but it was really, really good.

SPEAKER_01

Our first night, we did meet a guy who was a paramedic for a really long time.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, over 25 years.

SPEAKER_01

And then when we got in the car, he was like, Are you a nurse? And I was like, Oh my gosh, like, how'd you know?

SPEAKER_00

But yeah, when she said a couple of things and said, Are you a nurse? And I was just like, We just kind of look like, what the heck is shit like this?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I'm like, Are you a fortune teller? Like, what's going on? But yeah, he was a paramedic, so he was really cool.

SPEAKER_00

But um he was and he gave us, you know, really good advice um too about the walking, which you know I kind of know. I've never been, that's the thing I'll say. I've been to Vegas a bunch of times, but I've never been in this in the summertime. So it was different.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it was really, really hot, I will say. So that gets into our crazy story. So one of the first things we did when we were there Friday night was we dad loves magic, he loves magic shows. So we went to go see Penn and Teller. Dad wanted to see them because they're a bit older.

SPEAKER_00

So yeah, they're 78 and 71, and I'm like, how much longer are they gonna do this? And they're kind of like the um OGs of doing this, along with David Copperfield, which I saw last time.

SPEAKER_01

So we went, and I've never seen a magic show, so it was really good. So Penn and Teller are a comedian magician duo who have been together since 1975, and they even said that they're like, We've been doing magic longer than some of your parents have been alive. Um, I did recognize Penn and Teller. I knew they were magicians, but I recognize them because they were on the Mast Singer.

SPEAKER_02

Of course.

SPEAKER_01

Um they were the three-headed monster hydra on season seven. So that's why I was like, I know them. So, you know, obviously they're very popular. They've been in a lot of different, they had their own TV show on Discovery. They've made appearances in TV shows like Sabrina the Teenage Witch, The Big Bang Derek Theory, The West Wing. They even have books. So they're they've been in the scenes for quite a bit.

SPEAKER_00

And they even had the show, it was called Pen and Teller Foolish, where they would tell people to do magic on the show and they would try to fool them and they would tell them how they did the trick.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so I thought that was really cool to go see them. So they performed, they have their own theater in the Rio Hotel and Casino, which, oh my gosh. So dad and I were like, we are not gonna get an Uber or Lyft, we're gonna go.

SPEAKER_00

Like 2.4 miles.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and we're like, we walk every day, blah, blah, blah. Well, the Rio Hotel is not on the strip, it's across the freeway. Yep. So it's gonna be like a 40-minute walk. Which when you're walking the strip 40 minutes, it's not that bad because you're going in and out of places and you're just exploring. But we went to across the freeway. And like, it's like I saw this TikTok, and this girl was like, Vegas is literally an optical illusion. And it's so true because it's like we saw the hotel. We're like, it's right there, like we could see it, but it was like it took you in a whole circle. It took us like 40 minutes, we're drenched in sweat, it's hot. We're like, it was just it was bad.

SPEAKER_00

We got we got when I tell you, we got some exercise and we did, we did over 25,000 steps every day.

SPEAKER_01

Like every day.

SPEAKER_00

And we got to Vegas late too that day. Um we got there late.

SPEAKER_01

And it was so hot, and I was like, oh my gosh, like we were crossing crossing like major streets to get there. And I was telling dad, I was like, it is so hot. We did it though. And dad was like, we definitely cannot walk back in the dark here.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's because I'm you know, growing up where I grew up, I'm I'm not gonna say I'm paranoid, but I'm very aware of what's going on around me. And just looking at the stuff, I'm thinking, I cannot take my daughter this way back because there could be too many dangers. Because just where the way you had to walk to get there. And uh and the um the Uber, the lift guy who picked us up, he told us, I was telling him, he's like, Yeah, if you're not on a strip, don't walk there. So on a strip, you're pretty safe. He said, because there's police, there's security all over. He said, if you're off the strip, he says, You don't have all that. And and Rio is off the strip. And so when we walk there, I could just notice, I said, walking back here would be very dangerous. The people are just standing in certain spots. Um, I was watching, looking for people, and they weren't there. So you just, you know, you have to be careful. Um, and so I'm very um cautious.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it was it was crazy. Like I was like, yeah, we're never doing this again. Like, we definitely will take an Uber or lift next time because it was it was so hot. Yeah, we did get a lot of steps, which was good.

SPEAKER_00

We did get a lot of steps. I mean, in the heat, the heat, and when you get that's the difference I tell I was telling the people in Houston, when it's hot, it's hot. Doesn't matter where you are in the shade in Vegas, you're not hot, it's cooler. But when you're in Houston, the humidity, it doesn't matter if you're in shade or not, it's just hot. So, you know, like we were trying to go back and forth. I was going back and forth because Alex, uh Alex, I planned a trip. Alex just picks the food pretty much. She, you know, she told me we're going in and I I put the trip together. But um, yeah, but I was going between Chin Lim and who Alex knows because she wanted to watch one American Got Talent. But I wanted to see Penn and Teller because like I told Alex, I just don't know how much longer they're gonna be doing this.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so and they were really good, you know. They have their own theater. Um, when we got there, we actually got a surprise. They upgraded our seats.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, I was praying for that. I was like, Lord, please let them upgrade a seat because we were supposed to be in the back, in the back of the like, not way in the back, because not it's a very intimate setting, but we were right there, like we were like on uh maybe 12th row.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it was really good. Now, I I hope this is allowed for us to talk about the magic show. I mean, we're gonna tell you what Yeah, we didn't tape anything. Yeah, we didn't tape anything. You know, they said no cameras or anything, so we didn't tape anything, but it was a really good show. I mean, so when you get there, you were able to do like write your dreams on a piece of paper. So basically they said they got that idea because you know Circ Cirque the Soleil, um, they do all the tricks and the acrobatic stuff, and they actually had the Michael Jackson one performing there as well. But Alex I want to go see that they do a whole bunch of tricks, and so Penn and Teller were like, they were like, Oh, so what is the purpose of your show essentially? And they're like to um make dreams come true. So they kind of did like a segment about dreams, but like the opposite where they it was really funny. So everybody wrote their dreams down, and then we would like throw all our sheets to the stage as far as we could, and they would we're reading dreams out. Yeah, so they would read dreams out and stuff. So they had and they did have a lot of volunteers from the audience, which was really fun. And so the little boy who read it, our teenager, I should say, he um the last the the trick essentially was the dream he read is what they already had in the background.

SPEAKER_00

So Yeah, we had he it was some it was there were some dreams that I will not mention on here, but they were hilarious. They were doing some stuff that was putty. I won't mention some of the dreams, but it was it was the hit pen was butty. He was like, Oh, you can't say that on here. He said, I read that, you can't do that, but it was really, it was it was funny.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it was really funny. I was like, uh so we um my dream, I wrote down that I wanted to be in outer space, uh, drinking a cookies and cream milkshake, watching a charmed while getting a pedicure.

SPEAKER_00

And then dad's dream was Um to be at Hogwarts um and fight um Valdem Laura Voldemort with um my sister and and Alex because they love they love um Harry Potter as much as I do.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, the dream that they did the trick on was someone playing bagpipes in a bathtub with a chipmunk or squirrel or something. I was like, some of these people have the craziest dreams. So one thing I really did like about the show is the fact that they used a lot of people from the audience and they also did um individual like Teller, he doesn't speak during the show, but he did his own like little individual segments, which I will say one of my favorite tricks in the whole show was Teller's trick. So what he did was he brought a lady on stage and he had a fish jank and he gave her like another fishbowl. So he would grab the water and put it in the fishbowl, and it was just coins falling out. So he like kept doing that back and forth, and then at the end he would he put the coins back and like they turned into like fish, like a whole bunch of fish. And I was like, to me, like real gold fish, too. Like the fish were moving, the fish, the fish were moving, and I was like, Oh my god, like that was probably my favorite. I will say that was my favorite trick, and they did a lot of different stuff too. I mean, they had the trick where he teller also did the lady drew a picture of her husband or brother, whoever she was on stage with, and then he basically, you know, threw it on glass, drew it on glass, broke it, and then turned it back into the frame after, like brought it back to life, I guess you could say. So that was another cool one. Um, and then of course the tricks they did together. One of the cool another cool one too was when they FaceTime someone who wasn't even here.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that's probably my cool.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and the girl was like so like, oh my god, like she was like could not confused, but like she was on FaceTime. So basically, you know, they pick a car, what card she's gonna guess in her head, and they had the audience present the card.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, they gave it like all the cards out of it. So funny because she's like, he was just like, give me a card, she said a car, she did a he said a card. It was just funny way he was interacting with her.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it was so funny. And she was a good sport about it too. Um, and then he was like, for all you doubters out there, so they did a whole segment at the end with like all the people who didn't believe that.

SPEAKER_00

Because they said they get a lot of that online about that. That they have stooges.

SPEAKER_01

So stooges they say are like people are plants or that they hired or what did they say?

SPEAKER_00

Like they're like plants, the people they hired to do the trick with. And they were saying that financially that wouldn't be feasible because they had all these people involved in the thing.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so he like basically proved them wrong and stuff, and he was like, all the people who didn't believe, which a lot of little kids went on stage, but I think it's because they just really wanted to get on the stage, but it was really Yeah, he called them little buttholes or something.

SPEAKER_00

He was hilarious.

SPEAKER_01

He was funny, it was a really good show. Like, I thought it was.

SPEAKER_00

All the card tricks were really good. Teller does a really great job, they do a really good job of it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, they did, and then he would say, like, if you're gonna come on the stage, like you better remember because I don't want you to forget and ruin the trick kind of thing. So it was a really good show. Like I said, I've never seen a magic show like in person. I always see it like on TV and stuff, but it was really, really good.

SPEAKER_00

I will go to a magic show seven days a week. I love magic shows.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and it just makes you think, like, how do they do this? How do they get the tricks out? So it was very cool.

SPEAKER_00

They were funny, like all the magicians are good except for Chris Angel.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, nobody likes people. Angel and Vit. Even our Lyft drivers, like, everybody hates Chris Angel over there. I don't want to say hate, that's a strong word, but strongly dislikes Chris Angel. Like, everybody talked bad about the man, and I'm like, oh my gosh. I mean, I I at first, honestly, I didn't even know who Chris Angel was until Dad was like, oh, he's a magician. I like probably have heard of the name, but I didn't really like it.

SPEAKER_00

He had a lot of um TV specials, that's why he blew up like he did. And but like when I was trying to decide when I went to Vegas last time when I was trying to decide where um um we were gonna go, um, I looked up in Chris Angel because I wanted to go see him too. But I was like, I want to go see Dave Procoper for he had better writings than him, but people do not like it.

SPEAKER_01

They do not like they do not like him there, and I'm like, oh my gosh. So it was very it was fun. They did a lot of card tricks too, I will say. Um, and I thought the card tricks were cool. I just like the fact that they are so inclusive in the audience and interactive. Um, but for sure, I would now I would rate it a Jackson 5. I know that's her concert ratings, but it was really good. It was a good show for my first time seeing a magic show, I will say.

SPEAKER_00

Um, I think too, like it is um, you know, I would give them, you know, since we don't do a rate, I've just made I just made this a rate, I would give them a Harry Houdini, who's like probably the top magician ever. Like they did an amazing job. I saw David Copperfield, he was really, really good. There's only a few people that I really, really like. I mean, I I go see a magic show all the time, but I want to go see Matt Franco and I want to see Shin Lim. And I want to see um they were talking about Piff to Magic Dragon, so I want to go see him.

SPEAKER_02

Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, so like, but I really want to see Shin Lim is one of the people that I really want, really wanted to, really want to see. Like, he's probably the next on my list. And I want to see Matt Franco. They say he's really, really good as well, too.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I like Shin, like I would want to see him too, just because I saw him on AGT, so I would get to see, of course, the whole process of how, you know, and he won his season and like he said he wanted a show in Vegas, and it's so crazy to see and so exciting that he got his show on Vegas. So he would be really cool to see as well.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I think last time I saw um Nathan Um Burton comedy show, his was more like it's like for kids, but they did a really big, a really big job. And um, I remember uh my wife got picked as one of the people on stage. We were like she got picked as one of the people that he did the trick with and stuff too but it was really really cool um I I just like a magic show Nathan Burton's isn't as big as some of the other ones are but it's still really really good but like next time I want to see I want to see Shin Lim and I want to see Matt Frankel. Apparently I think Matt Frankel changes his show constantly so I I could go to Vegas and just watch Magic Shows and be hip.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah it was really cool. It was a good it was like I said it was so good. And the hotel like the Del Rio Hotel or I keep saying Del Rio the Rio Hotel was nice too you know they have um the canteen food hall there so they have differ a lot of different restaurants there. We didn't eat there. We'll tell you where we ate in a bit but they it's a I mean like I said like for them to be able to fit like a theater in there, food, casinos, gambling, all of like it's crazy to me. But highly recommend to go watch a pen and teller magic show if you haven't like dad says they are older um who knows how long they're gonna be doing this for um so highly recommend going to see one.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah they kid I mean they came out on fire. It was just teller on the stage at first and Pen had his little thing. And then um and then he's talking and he's telling them things and he was in the crowd. He popped up in the crowd the guy had the ring and they had flowers and it was like they switched the ring with P It was it was really good the way they did it. It was just it was you know their hand movements were amazing. I you watched the hands but they're so good at it it's like it's crazy.

SPEAKER_01

So yeah it was so good. It was really good. Um but that was our Friday night um and then we um got off the plane swinging we did we we did a lot we fold our weekend up pretty pretty good so Alex was telling me because when we got there I hadn't even bought the tickets yet I know he gets these tickets guys last minute I mean it always works out for him but he'll get the tickets like like an hour before and be like oh I'm waiting for the prices to go down oh I'm waiting to see if it's gonna be deal I ended up saving like I ended up saving like probably about $75. Yeah he he does that all the time and we got upgraded so I mean it was worth it.

SPEAKER_00

He did that too with the um so with our other show that we went to see um remember your mom used to always get mad because I would do that because I would wait when she when I get a plane ticket I would always wait till last minute I only got it only hurt me one time.

SPEAKER_01

He does that all the time he's like it's gonna go down because if there's so many seats that means they're gonna drop the price.

SPEAKER_00

That's what we did for um when we went to Mary J in Houston like I waited to the last the last minute and I got tickets for a hundred dollars.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah he does I mean like I said it works out for him I don't know how but it does but he also did that with so we you know I'm a TikTok groly and my aunt also told me about this so we went to go see the Wizard of Oz in the spear and that was like all over my TikTok like it was like an interactive Wizard of Oz thing and dad actually got the tickets literally like 30 minutes before then too. As we were walking we we got them when we when we were eating yeah while we were eating so I was like I want to go I want to go see it. So the spear is also on the strip and it is at the end of the strip and we did walk there um but we of course stopped for breakfast yeah we're back for breakfast and it wasn't that far from the breakfast place yeah and then we walked there so of course it is the Wizard of Oz you know the classic movie um but the show or not the the show and the spear was only 75 minutes. So they cut time off the original time is 102 minutes which makes sense. So we went from like 11 to 1215. And when I say they finish it at 1215 they finish it at 1215. So um it was I mean the spear has you know there's a lot of concerts there there's Backstreet boys perform there and then Metallica's coming in 2027 to perform there. Um when we walk in one we're hot drip and sweat. So it felt so nice to walk in before immediately and there's just a whole bunch of like Wizard of Oz things. You know they have the gift shop and then they have like um there like props that are put there so you could take pictures and stuff like that.

SPEAKER_00

I wish we would have taken pictures before we got there like we had a little time but not a lot but like I wish we would have taken more pictures because afterwards it was full.

SPEAKER_01

The pictures of full so many people and we dad was looking so he dad says that it's best to sit like in the 300 section just because of the view of the screen. So the screen is literally like it's kind of like a movie theater it but it's like all in front of you the screen it's huge.

SPEAKER_00

So let me interrupt you. So when he first started when you first come in it looks like it's curtains everywhere. Yeah like it looks like all over so it looked like you're just gonna when it opens look like you're just gonna be looking in front of you but it's all it's completely you're in encompassed in it. And then so that the when I was reading when I because I had wanted to go last time too I wanted to go but um didn't get a chance to but when I was looking it says that the 300 section where we said the 306 um area where we were that's where you get a lot of the special effects more than anything. And you know and so we were able to you know and you don't have to reach your neck back so fat no so far back to see things.

SPEAKER_01

So yeah and so like the interactive things which of course check out our social media because it's gonna be posted on there but so one of the cool interactive things was like when Dorothy gets swept up in the tornado to go to Oz it's like the wind like people they have the fans blowing they put leaves it's like you're in the tornado.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah we have some leaves that we save from there was really cool.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah super cool and then another cool interactive was when they're shaking the apple tree when they're finding the tin man.

SPEAKER_00

And the apple tree is throwing at them because Dorothy doesn't you know re remember realizing that you know I'm not in she says I'm not in Oz anymore.

SPEAKER_01

I'm not in Kansas.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah I'm not in Kansas anymore.

SPEAKER_01

So that trees are falling so as they're falling on the screen they're falling from the theater.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah they have apples and so that's another thing I wanted Alex to to um experience the entire thing. So like they tell you like you look up stuff they tell you these are the best places to get apples. So the the nice gentleman by us he said oh it's an apple right there so we were able to get an apple.

SPEAKER_01

We have an app Alex has an apple which are so exciting and it just says the wonderful Wizard of Oz. So and it's I mean I've always liked the Wizard of Oz movie you know how I love the fact that it goes from black and white to color. I think that's so cool.

SPEAKER_00

So you get so many different live interactions with this theater and it's it it's beautiful like the picture quality you can tell it's like 4K or 8k like I mean it looked fake it was so it was so clear.

SPEAKER_01

So beautiful like it was just an amazing amazing experience and now the tickets weren't the cheapest um I think we paid a total like of two something. 288 what you did it was two I mean you know we waited got good tickets again people but I will I highly recommend if you love Wizard of Oz go go to this theater and if you don't it is worth your time it is such a great experience and they really do a good job of I feel like they could do more movies like that. I was telling dad because dad was like what movies could they do? And I'm like they could definitely do like Jaws or something. They could do Jurassic Park um so it was a really cool experience and then after they had an after show and you know you got to like talk to the wizard kind of thing. So they did that whole scene where they discover the wizard's like a fraud kind of thing and you know they would ask the audiences like oh what's your wish because you know in the movie if you guys haven't seen it they're all essentially going to the wizard to get their wishes granted you know Dorothy wants to go home the lion wants courage the tin man wants a heart the scarecrow wants a brain so they were like oh what's your wish the scarecrow was actually very smart from the beginning. Yeah he was I don't but so they asked the audience like one of their wishes and the couple people that are like I just want to be blessed by God. And the one girl would take I want a billion dollars I'm like okay guys we all want to be blessed by God but let let's be honest what is your true wish what's your what what's your dream that's like they say pretty woman what's your dream yes and then I was like hmm what would be my dream so I feel like I would ask I definitely would want a a million dollars and to never work again in my life because I'm so lazy. So I would want a lot of money to the end of my lifetime.

SPEAKER_00

That girl said a billion dollars a billion with a B. And he was like well with the cost and the the transfer fees from ours to here you would only get about $17.

SPEAKER_01

$17 but at least she had like a real wish I'm like And then he told us come back tomorrow to get the $17 like the wizard told her. I'm like at least have like I don't know like say you want a Pomeranian puppy or something. Something and then at the end there are photo opportunities to take with the the wizard and stuff we did take one but you can do that.

SPEAKER_00

Because we we I like Alex said our day was with jam parts.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah I am glad though that we went to the gift shop before because it was so packed when we were leaving so I did get my mom a shirt and then I got a pen of course.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah she gets pins everywhere I don't know if y'all we talked about that Alex gets pins everywhere she even got a pen at the pen and teller show she gets pins everywhere that's what she likes to do collect pens. She started that at Disney and now it's just kind of everywhere we go if they have a pen she wants to get one. Yeah for sure she even got a pen at the second place that we went to after the Wizard of the bars.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah I got pins everywhere. But it was it was really fun I highly recommend going. Um I would rate it a five out of five it was such a good show ten out of ten. It I want to go see it again. I wish they had something like that here in Houston like it was so much fun.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah it was really good even though you've seen it like it just it was a great thing I would give it um I would give it like you know to like the way I'm gonna rate this was I'm gonna give this to Dorothy Gale because Dorothy is the most popular Woods of the Boss character so in the scarecrow I think it's like second so I would give it like a 10 out of 10 um a Dorothy Gale rating because it was you know it was over the rainbow.

SPEAKER_01

I enjoyed it so much yeah it was so good.

SPEAKER_00

I really even with them cutting the parts off the parts that they cut off it didn't really take away from the movie. They did a good job of taking it up taking up doing it.

SPEAKER_01

The main parts I mean you got to see Kansas and then you got to see you saw the black and white to like Alex said to the colors.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah to the wizards you saw the munchkins you saw the they had the flying monkeys when the flying monkeys were going to get Dorothy they were flying across you could see them flying across the around the thing it was really cool.

SPEAKER_01

So they do the like highlight of like the main parts of the movie like I think they just take out like the filler you know the journey but it's it's the main part and it was so good. So highly recommend Wizard of Oz fan or not go see the Wizard of Oz at the spear I don't know how much longer they're gonna be there or if it's like a segment but highly recommend to go see it was really good.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah if I stayed in Vegas I probably would go see that once a month.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah it was really it was that good it was that good um and then of course we have to eat on our trip because we definitely are foodies.

SPEAKER_00

So like I mentioned before And we could eat more too because we were walking everywhere.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah like I mentioned before we there are restaurants where we stayed so there's like this place called El Italy. So basically it was a whole bunch of like it it was like a food court of Italian food essentially so the place we went to go eat was called La Pizza and La Pasta and it was really really good.

SPEAKER_00

Our waitress was great um let me interrupt her too let me tell you so when putting the trip together like you know Alex you know this was a gift that Alex gave me but Alex doesn't really like to plan if she doesn't have to and which I don't mind playing and I have this whole I had this whole little pretty itinerary that I put together that I sent her. And um and and I don't mind doing that but I don't pick the food places because Alex looks at TikTok and she's you and usually the like nine out nine out of ten times 99% of the time the places that she gets are amazing. Like when I like we talked about in the last episode how we were in El Paso and all the places that she picked to eat were were so good. I need her to put a list together of places are like a video together places that we've eaten that you know we've gotten off TikTok that are really good. So the places that she she's in charge of the food places so this place that she picked was amazing.

SPEAKER_01

So continue I'm sorry it was really good thanks for my applause. But it was so I wanted to get pizza and pasta but I was like no that's gonna be too much. So essentially this whole trip dad and I shared food. Yes um so we got a pizza I am going to butcher this name I don't even want to say it it basically was an all-meat pizza and it had sausage it had um what is it salsa cito? Salsacito I totally totally up too yeah it was really good and then um we also got dad wanted to keep going back for this we got dessert like I said I'm gonna butcher the name but essentially it was like a chocolate cake and it is on our social media and it was like a chocolate mousse cake in a cup.

SPEAKER_00

Yes we weren't expecting that when we when they brought it out we were like okay so we shared the dessert too and she told us the the she told us the two places that she would that the two desserts that she picked she told us about so we got the chocolate one um we went back and got got it again but we got the lemon when we got the lemon and then they card you because it is 21 and over because they have like a little I you didn't even taste the alcohol dad's not a drinker so you couldn't even taste the alcohol at all but it was like a lemon cake with shortbread cookies on it and it was good. I thought the chocolate one was much better but it was it was good.

SPEAKER_01

She she didn't leave us wrong it's very nice when we when we came back to get a dessert the second day she was like hey y'all went back we have the same waitress yeah it was really really good so dad was like we have to go back now I will mention to highly recommend making reservations no we just make reservations for everywhere yeah because we like I wanted to go to this place this dumpling place I'm obsessed with dumplings but it was like apparently it's really popular and I forgot to make a reservation you have to make a reservation like the next reservation was until like Sunday night and we were already leaving so highly recommend any restaurant you want to go to unless it's like a food core or a buffet make a reservation because you're gonna need one like they will be like oh we don't have tables but they do but like you have to have a reservation yeah because even when we went back to just to get the dessert Alex made a reservation when we were in when we were in the uh when we were in the concert in the concert yeah so make a reservation that is my biggest tip to you guys yeah reservations are really good even though like you know they have stuff because it makes a uh makes a huge difference in that but um we had a you know really great time great it was the food that pizza was Alex is not lying with you that was one of the best pieces I've ever read in my life and um we ate it and um we just didn't get much rooms on that but everything else pretty much we got on there and it was just it was so good.

SPEAKER_00

It was just really good. I could have probably eaten there again the next day but we wanted to try different things but I was I could have eaten another pizza the next day it was so good.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah it was really delicious I will say um but we are going to do something a little bit different. Um of course we're still gonna have our chop segment and I'm gonna give dad his ingredients like I said our chop segment is also called Dad's daughter's basket dad's choice yes so we will be um I'm gonna give dad his ingredients like I said dad gets ingredients dad cheats dad creates a dish maybe that's what we should call a daughter's basket dad's cheat yeah literally so the challenge is to create a Las Vegas inspired meal so dad's ingredients are chocolate jam bacon and croissants now take your guesses on what you think dad is gonna make or also give suggestions what you think would be a good idea.

SPEAKER_00

I'm not saying I'm gonna make it but you know I'll I'll I'll work on it we'll see what you say.

SPEAKER_01

Because we were going to of course you know we had a busy filled weekend in Vegas so there will be a part two and dad will tell you his dish and that so let us know what you think he can create off of this and tell us and maybe let's see who gets the closest to what dad's gonna make but he will tell you his creation in the next episode but um I have time I have time yes he has time to create a dish but I know that Vegas was a very big part of dad's childhood. Um you know dad has been to Vegas as an adult and then dad has been to Vegas as a child. Um I've been to Vegas twice but dad's been a lot more um I went to Vegas like I said with my aunt the first time when I was probably like 17, 18 than I went now.

SPEAKER_00

But that's probably when I started going when I was like 17, maybe 19.

SPEAKER_01

But I do know like dad has a lot of Vegas memories. So my question to dad for this episode is how was Vegas back in the day? You know like the hotel food any memories that you have because I before dad gets into it I did see like a TikTok video um about this man and he basically I don't know his TikTok name but he goes and he explores the hotels in Vegas and he was talking about like the Excalibur hotel and that he stayed there and I remember dad saying that that hotel was so popular. It was it was super a lot has changed I will say and dad says cleaner. Yeah and much much I feel like everything was cleaner though back in the day too you know global warming has changed a lot.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah it's just like even just even with some of the stuff that you see like we were kids walking up and down a strip by ourselves. I don't know if I would let my kids walk up and down the strip by themselves at this point but when we were younger we would just go it'd be me, my sister, my cousins and we just go um um go go and do it um but um but it it it has changed a lot um my my childhood memories are are um are full with like good things because we would go for Thanksgiving with my grandmother because I that's before I started cooking Thanksgiving dinner dinner my grandmother would cook so grandmama wasn't here so why would we be here if she wasn't here because so we would go to Vegas to be with her and we would go eat at the buffets. Oh my god the buffets were amazing back then but that's what we go eat at at the buffets but um back in the day I would say like you know a lot of good hotels we stayed at Circus Circus um we stayed at Excalibur Excalibur was amazing I like medieval time things um the Mirage is very popular and you know but now you look at some of these hotels and those hotels are no longer no longer you know like what they used to be and so you have some of these newer hotels that are coming up like Park and GM that we stayed in was amazing. But back then you know Excalibur Circus Circus as a kid that was really fun to go to and stay at but um a lot of good memories um a lot of good memories my grandmother I have pictures my cousin uh my cousin Todd was on there with us my cousin Justin my Doe uh my Shirley like it was just a really really good time with family uh my cousin uh like you just we just would go and we just walk up and down us to strip and we just go and have a good time and we had times that we had to be back at the hotel to eat and have lunch and we had every day lunch together as a family dinner together as a family um we just had a really really really great time and I remember um when I went to Vegas I was I was um 20 and I I did a slot machine. I broke a rule I can't believe it I broke a rule and a lady looked at me and she was like square and my lady was looking at me she's like no no no I was like yes and I just walked away but I mean but it's just like really great memories of seeing my grandmother and like um hanging out with her and um making those memories with my family and you know um when a lot of us were still here a lot of my people have gone to you know be with the Lord now so miss them and it just whenever I go to Vegas it just break takes me back to back in the nineties when we used to go and have fun and spend time with all my grandmother and her sisters and things like that.

SPEAKER_01

So yeah I mean it's of course you know I always say like the difference in things you know growing up and how much things have changed over time. It's really crazy and also cool to see. But do you remember seeing like anybody perform like any big performers during your time or any shows or we didn't really go to shows so um well grandma like that was like we just would go places and play arcades.

SPEAKER_00

You know you're 19 18 17 you're just like looking like oh crap this is fun we go they would give us money and we would have money in our pockets you have like you have like $40 $50 you think you're rich when you're 17 years old 18 years old and so we would go and we just we go we go um play video games we go to different hotels and and do things like that and then um we would we would meet up all the time we go to different places different buffets eat the Vegas had the best buffets back in the 90s and the um you know the the late 90s early 90s and stuff so we would go there and eat eat eat and then we would go back and go right back out and then sometimes we just go to the room to rest a little bit then go back out. But when you're young you don't need as much rest and we just walk everywhere and I don't think it was as hot as it is now global warming is real. I I tell people that because it I don't remember being as hot again but we did go with like in November so but still even then it was warm but not like to the cover.

SPEAKER_01

Like this is the type of weather like you want to take clothes off. Like it is so hot. Um okay some people do have their clothes off. Yeah. So I know you kind of talked about like it being clean and like the hotels and the buffets but what surprised you the most about Vegas today like going as an adult compared to as a kid?

SPEAKER_00

Um the thing that surprises me the most probably is um I mean it shouldn't surprise me nowadays and this isn't like me trying to take a child it's just how much more freely how people are essentially like naked walking the the the streets.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah I mean like people like it it was not like that and when I was when I used to go yeah did you there were there things yes but no I mean it's just blatantly people just like half naked walking up and down the street talking to you trying to get you to take pictures say like when you guys are over there do not like these people are in your faces like oh picture you snap a picture you pay yeah they're in your faces trying to give you bracelets like take this bracelet take this bracelet you put that bracelet on you're charged yeah and they also have like the show women like naked women walking like dad said and then they also have like people in costume which I don't know how they do that in the heat but like you know big bird and bluey costume you take a picture it's kind of like New York in that sense there are people like that in New York and Times Square like you will have to get a picture snap a picture money. So beware of that and then there's also a lot of like people like I told dad there was this man and he was like a dancer so he was like for the show put in money and I'm like how do they stand out here in the heat yeah sweating so you could see the sweat coming off he would not move until someone put a tip I was like if I didn't waste all my money gambling I'd give that man some some money you know so it's it's a lot like it's just a strip and people are walking people are working and highly recommend be careful because like I said you know they will get some people because people will think they're just taking a free picture and they'll be like uh uh give me the money so be careful with

SPEAKER_00

And it I I'm gonna be honest, being from Texas, um He's from Texas, I can tell, but okay, never mind. But um he like being from Texas, we're we're really most of us are very friendly. You know, we you know we we we're like thank you, blah, blah, blah. You talk to people. I had to kind of go against my nature and just kind of ignore people and walk by. That's not my personality. I like to ignore people and ask Alexis. But so, but because the you do, you're attacked as you're walking up the street. Oh, come to this show, come do this, come do this. And you're like, no, like one person tried to get us and we're like, we're he's like, Are y'all gonna be here tomorrow? No, we're leaving. Like what time? Like at six in the morning. He's like, Oh, okay, never mind.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, going and he's like, I'm not asking you for money. First of all, I I don't like people in my business. Like, I don't like people coming up to me like that. Second of all, it is hot. So it's already like my attitude's already not, and I know it's their job, but like it's like you I know like my cousin, she used to work at this company where you know, the people who sell like the phones and the TVs and the insurances and the in the malls or at this like grocery stores. So she would say, you know, you have to you have to ask them and they have to tell you no three times before you like back off. Because it was it's their job to just like go and attack you for this. She's like, once you get three no's, then you're like, okay, thank you. So like right off the bat, I'm like, no, no, no, no. I'm like, if everybody's three no's, it's a no.

SPEAKER_02

So yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So it's like, and I get it's their job, but it's like I've told you no like three times. That's a cutoff. So, but it's yeah, they're all in your faces. So beware, like, don't just snap pictures, don't just take stuff. Be aware that it costs money.

SPEAKER_00

And it's and it's for everybody. Um, so they have women out there like half-dressed and trying to get the man to change. Yeah, and then they have the men that sit out there with no shirts on that are like in tremendous shape. Yeah, for for women. So they have they have something for everybody. Then they have the bluey people out there. It's like even for the kids. Like they have some. I will tell you, they are the ultimate marketing people. I can tell you that.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, I mean, so beware of that, guys. Um, for sure. But rapid fire question time, like I have to tell dad. Fast, fast, fast, fast.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, but you you were gonna ask something about a buffet. I was gonna tell you back in the day at Rio, um, the Rio Casino back in the 90s, they had the Carnival World buffet. That was like one of the best buffets in the world, and it was so, so good. We didn't do a buffet this time when we were there, but you know, but I mean we don't really do buffets as much as much anymore. Like we get.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I think on TikTok I saw a buffet that they have apparently a super great buffet, but it costs like a hundred dollars per person at the MGM, MGM Grand. So, like dad said, we didn't we did restaurants this time around.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, we don't haven't really done buffets a lot since COVID. Alex is not, she's really Germany should have seen how many times she watched her hands moving. Yeah, and I mean I'm Germany too. I don't mind like things like that, but I used to love to eat at CC's Pizza and Golden Corral, which the people who came from other countries and the World Cup said Golden Corral was the best thing in the world, probably because they don't have buffets there. And the food at Golden Corral is good. Golden Corral is really good, but people are nasty. They let their kids throw up and touch stuff and buffets are another topic. If you're gonna go, you go first thing in the morning when you're the first person that opens it up.

SPEAKER_01

That's like, did you say who got kicked out of a buffet? Some of our family members.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, my family members got kicked out um because they were eating too much and they told them that they eat too much.

SPEAKER_01

I didn't even know you can get kicked out of a buffet.

SPEAKER_00

They were put they were putting a dinner at food. You you know you're eating if you put a dinner in buffet food.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. That's a wild place to start. But it was, it was I'm I I'm an o I'm clean, Jeremy. Blame my mother for that. But yeah, it was it was good. The food we s we had was good.

SPEAKER_00

I'm I'm like that too. I I tell people all the time, you know, if you if you believe, pray over your food because I worked at a restaurant for two years and I can tell you some of the things that I caught as a manager. I couldn't even tell you that I'm scared of the things that I didn't catch. The fact that there's self-grown people like that are dealing with food, go wash your hands. Um, oh, what are you doing with that? Oh, that has to go in the trash. You dropped that on the floor. The things that I caught. I'm not sure. I'm just I'm just I'm scared of the things that I didn't catch. And so um, I tell people, and Alex, like, I'm like that. Like, I'm very like, you I'll tell people like I'll see things like I don't like stuff. Like, I'm very Jeremy, I don't want I won't touch certain things. Um, I remember Alex got pink eye one time. The doctor thinks that the way she got it when she touched the door that somebody maybe had pink eye rubbed. And so it's just so many, like, I'm very uncomfortable with things. So, you know, but she's like, when I tell you that girl washed her hands four times, I was like, Alex read the table. She's like, sorry, she put the bag.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, he's like, okay, calm down. Um like I have to. I just and I think I felt too because like Vegas, like I said, my face broke out too. I think the heat and the dryness of it just made my hands feel so icky because it's so dry there. So I was just like, oh my gosh. It was insane. It was insane, yeah. But I did wash my hands a lot.

SPEAKER_00

Um but even when we're sitting at the table and did she didn't touch nothing.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I know. I was like, I have to do it again. I don't know, it's just crazy. But um now on to our rapid fire questions. Um so these are fast questions, quick answers, dad. No taking your time. So first one is window seat or aisle seat.

SPEAKER_00

Um, I like a window seat. If you have to peel out aisle seat, it's better, but window seat.

SPEAKER_01

I like an aisle seat because I like to get off that plane.

SPEAKER_00

I like a window seat because I like to open the window and be able to look at it. I'm gonna knock because I don't need all that.

SPEAKER_01

One night or one week in Vegas?

SPEAKER_00

Um, one week would be good. There's so many things that you can do.

SPEAKER_01

I feel like one night, I feel like one week in Vegas is too long.

SPEAKER_00

I feel like I feel like we went to Vegas and I felt like we didn't have enough. We essentially have one night. That's all we had. And I feel like if we had more, like we could have done more magic shows and things like that.

SPEAKER_01

So I mean we pack so much, but I just feel like a good one night in Vegas is like all I can do.

SPEAKER_00

It depends on the like what you're trying to see. So say like UFC was there. Mary J. Blige on Saturday. What if we talk about Mary J. Blige on Friday and then UFC on Saturday? And then Sunday we went to see um um, we went to see Shin Lim. It's just so many things that you can do there.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I don't know. I feel like a week's too long. Now, give me a week at Disney World, okay. But a week in Vegas, I'm like, eh, I still do need to go back and party in Vegas, though. I do want to uh party. Dad won't do that with me, but I do want to go party at least.

SPEAKER_00

You can't you shouldn't even do those to hold yourself. You were already struggling. I was like, I was like, who's older, me or you? Like the way you you were struggling.

SPEAKER_01

I was struggling with it.

SPEAKER_00

Like going to Sea Girl was sleeping like two seconds. She laid her head on the pillow and you're like, she was go.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but I will I do want to party at least once in Vegas. But okay, concert or magic show.

SPEAKER_00

In Vegas, concert or magic show in Vegas?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, a magic show, definitely.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I would say a magic show after seeing Penn and Tuller. Like, I do think it was really cool. Now I will say I would we're gonna get into that next time, but residencies are really, really good, I will say.

SPEAKER_00

As some as people who people who go to a lot of concerts, it was yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, we'll discuss that. Um, dad will be excited about that. But um, our last rapid fire question walk the strip or Uber.

SPEAKER_00

So the heat, um, but I would still rather walk the strip.

SPEAKER_01

I would still walk because I'm cheap. My cheapness always beats out my laziness.

SPEAKER_00

Like me, not so much about even a cheapness, it was just because you go past so many things. Yeah, I went to so many things. And there's things that you would pass that you would not see if you want to Uber.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and the hotels, like they have so many things to do inside too. So like you can go into hotels to cool down and they have their own activities in there. So that was really cool. Um, okay, so off to dad's favorite part of the show. It's our blind ranking. So we're gonna do it a little differently this time because well, we didn't go to a we I didn't go to a concert and we saw more events that we're gonna talk about later. But I decided to do a spin the wheel question edition based on our time in Vegas. So we'll do five questions and we'll answer them. So our first question is our favorite dessert in Vegas.

SPEAKER_00

What is it? The Buddh Buddhino al G. Collate. Have you said it?

SPEAKER_01

Apparently, chocolate dish.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and apparently they have one in Dallas, so we may have to hit that up. That was really good.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so our next one is our favorite meal.

SPEAKER_00

Um, that's the toss-up for me. That was really, really hard. Um, either the pizza or Maxi's um Fruit of Pebbles French sauce was so good.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and we will definitely tell you about Maxi next time, so stay tuned for that.

SPEAKER_00

But so if you ask me, that that will be a really difficult question for me because I felt like um, what did we eat Friday? Do we eat anything Friday?

SPEAKER_01

It was the pizza.

SPEAKER_00

The pizza Friday, Saturday.

SPEAKER_01

Was the okay, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So um it will be a toss-up between the pizza. That pizza was amazing and um and maxi's. Um, I guess I'll go with the pizza.

SPEAKER_01

I just have to say the pizza because it was really good.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Um, next question MM World or Hershey Jacob World?

SPEAKER_00

Eminem World was amazing. Hershey's was good, but they stuff was they had stuff that was broken, but Eminem World was it was really cool. There's four floors. It's really, really cool.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I would say Eminem World too. Um, our fourth question Vegas in the summer or vegas in Christmas?

SPEAKER_00

Definitely Christmas. Nah, because it's cooler.

SPEAKER_01

I would have to say I've never gone in Christmas. I think it'll be fun, but definitely Christmas too. Just for the weather.

SPEAKER_00

For the weather, simply for the weather.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. And our last question: would you rather win $10,000 at the casino or get unlimited free food all weekend?

SPEAKER_00

That's a hard question because the food feels like it's $10,000. So I would say I would rather win the $10,000.

SPEAKER_01

I would win the $10,000 too. And I'm not gonna gamble that away. I would keep it. I would keep the $10,000 for sure. But um, that is all we have for you guys today. Thank you so much for viewing us. SPEAKER_00

Okay, so I have some. So Alex Alex bought me a dad, a dad joke book.

SPEAKER_01

Shout out to Five and Below.

SPEAKER_00

So she bought me a dad joke book. So now I have like so many more dad jokes, and I'm so excited about it. But I told her she cannot look at my dad jokes because she is not a dad, and she cannot tell these jokes. They can only come from a dad. So I have one since we were traveling. And he says I'm bossing. And we were traveling, and since you know, we were traveling, you know, you a lot of times when you travel, you you have, you know, rentals and stuff. So I've one for you. So Alex, what happens when you get hit with a rental car?

SPEAKER_01

Um, I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

It hurts.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god, Dad, please.
