This is a wild episode for a Friday night of just straight up chilling feeling like a goober and having some good chuckles. This is much more lighthearted than the last episode and talks heavy about my musical journey and how I got into the jams I am. Silly story time episode for the whole family! Ha!
Sit back, enjoy, have a laugh or tow, and munch on your favorite snack!
This was recorded later than expected so sorry about the silliness!

Yo yo gabba gabba. Ah, welcome guys to the show. Meow, meow, meow, meow, meow. Ha hi. It's a fantastic Friday night. I don't know about you all, but do you guys enjoy a good springtime shower? You know? Where you go outside and like it's it's raining cats and dogs, right? But then you go outside after it's calmed down a little bit, and then you smell the air, and you're like, oh yeah. Fresh. You know, it's zestfully clean. Ha ha. Welcome. It's episode 10. Can't you guys feel the excitement in the air? My goodness, I can. It's crazy beans bananas. Episode 10. Thank you all for listening. Those who are like tuning in, today I went to a local business to, you know what? I was just gonna say it. Who cares, right? I went to the health department. I went to the health department. I dropped off some brochures, some literature on cranioscral therapy. And I was talking with a friend of mine that works there. She's a nurse. And she was like, we're talking about, you know, the things, the the community, and and we had a great conversation, right? But she told me that she liked my show, right? Like the podcast. She was listening to the podcast. I was like, what? What? That's cool. And she liked it, right? So I was like, man, that's awesome. So excited. So thank you. Thank you to the people out there who are listening. Even if we will never meet, and you're like, who are you, crazy man, across the world, right? Thank you. Thank you. For real from the bottom of my heart. Right. Episode 10. This is good. Good stuff. We're getting in. And I'm so excited to be here and keep doing this. So I do have to apologize. I am getting this out a little bit later than I thought. You know, we're still going to be getting it on our Friday. It's Friday night. We're having some fantastic fun here. And I'm glad you guys are all here to nestle in and enjoy the show. Okay. This is just as a reminder to anybody who's new tuning in. This is just a creative outlet, and I'm just here having fun. And I'm just here voicing my opinions and doing the things, right? The last episode got a little bit heavy, got a little weird, right? Whatever it was, right? Maybe you noticed I had to edit some stuff. Well, ugh, ugh, right? Heavy episode. Maybe a gripey episode, right? And so this is so funny. I was I meant to get this out yesterday and I actually tried twice. And at one of the times that I was trying to get this out, I I ended up recording like eight minutes of a gripe about something here happening in the local community. And I was like thinking to myself, it's like, man, I don't, I don't think people want to hear about like gripes of local community stuff. You know what I mean? I don't know. It it's just it's a weird thing, this community that I live in. It it feels like like something funky is going on with the underground like funds or something, you know, that's running through and like happening because like all these little towns around us are like growing and developing and like doing really cool things, right? You know, things you you go to other little small towns and little places and little villas and things, you know, and you you roll up there and you're like, Man, this is the cutest little town, you know. They got a little thing here, little thing there, little this, little that. You know what I mean? And you're like, Man, I I wished, I wish in the bottom of my heart that that was my town. You know what I mean? And and like you want that for your little small community that just isn't doing real well, you know, but there's like this this weirdness, it's like there's a veil of strange around the town, it's like this vortex of weird, right? But not the good weird, like the uh, you know, kind of mmm, what's that kind of a thing, you know what I mean? And but it's I feel like it's been here for a long time, and people are like in this like weird bubble of like ooh, I don't know. I don't know. There's just some strange stuff going on around here, right? And you know, who you gonna call if there's something strange going on, right? And yeah, anyway, rant and ramble. So I I don't really want this to be a gripe episode, you know. I I feel like the last episode was kind of about that. So I don't know. This this is a this is a silly time, but you know, I I think I'm I'm I'm just really excited about the future. You know, there's a lot of cool things happening, and even though our world right now is twirling and whirling and you know, getting a little strange and heavy, heavy, heavy, right? You know, like Marty McFly would say, you know, it's this is heavy, you know, something's wrong with our Earth's gravitational pole, the moon's gravitational pole on the earth, right? And yeah, you know, life life is heavy, you know, but life finds a way, right? You know, and sorry for all the you know, the no, I'm not sorry, you know. I just am. Thanks. I am excited because you know, I got this like crazy little pop culture brain that pow pow pow pow right massive ADHD is going off tonight, right? It's Friday night, and we're having some fun, and I'm excited to be here, right? We're just talking, hanging out, jamming. I was earlier, right before I right before I was gonna jump on here, I was having a little dance party. I don't know if I've really talked to you guys. I might have talked to you guys about the dance parties, but it's it's always good to have a dance party, right? And whatever kind of music you like to listen to, right? Whatever you want, right? You can be you can be square dancing, you could be triangle dancing, you could be, you know, rectangle dancing, whatever kind of dancing you want to do, right? And uh, you know, you can be doing, you know, electro pop, you could be doing hip hop, you could, you know, whatever you want to get down to, right? Whatever you want to get down to. And I I I personally, when it comes to music, I'm a music fan, but I draw the line at country. I've got to draw the line at country, you know. I don't know. There has to be a genre that I completely avoid so that way I can focus on all the other ones, right? So that's the one I choose. And uh, there it is. But yeah, so anyway, you guys can get down to whatever kind of music you want. But when you have a dance party, get a speaker, make it loud, you know, feel it in your body, in your tissues, you know. I don't know. I don't know if you're a music lover. Some people, I you know, I I think a lot of the majority like music, you know, but I don't know too many people who do not like music. I know of one person, Jesse. This this goes out to you, Mr. Flippo, homeboy from from long ago, and he never really got into music, you know. He's the only one I've I've ever really met who I'm like, he's like, well, I don't don't really, you know, then anyway, back then didn't have time for music. And it's so funny, right? I don't know. I don't know. Do you know anybody who doesn't like music, you know, at all? Like, at all. His his old favorite band was ACDC, and I always thought that was kind of interesting, you know. If you don't like music at all, like picking that one, you know, hell's bells. Anyway, hi. But yeah, when you have a dance party, let's get back to it. If you have a dance party, get a speaker, turn it up, feel it in your body, and move and groove. You know what I mean? Just shake out your body, right? Just move it, right? You don't have to be a couch potato all the time. You can just get up and be like, you know what? I'm just gonna shake and move my body around. For real. If you guys just do a little bit more of that, right? With your, you know, with your significant others, or well, you know, what have you, right? Whatever, whatever, you know, whatever you're gonna be doing, just do you can do it alone. You can do it with other people, you can do however you're comfortable, but dance, right? Dance, just move your body. You even if you're like, well, I don't want to look like a goober in front of nobody, or whatever, right? Or maybe, maybe you're on the middle of a dance floor and you're like, Well, I don't want to look like a goober, you know, right? Whatever, just just move it, just just get it out of your body because you're dispelling energy, right? You're moving that through you, you know, and when you start to move that through you, you can also move emotions, you can move, you know, you can just move things through you, you know. We're we're human beings and we're supposed to be like like you know, doing things. And when we do more movement, like it dispels that through us, you know. If you're able to move, you know, please, please get it out, you know, and have a dance party, right? Get the music going and like feel it in your body and like let loose a little bit, you know. Why not? Why not? What do you have to lose? You know, if if you if you're just you know, I don't want to have tight all the time, you know, you could do that, but you know, if if you want to, you know, if you like music, if you get down to that sort of thing, just turn it up, tune in, and like wiggle it out, right? It'll do you worlds of good. And I'm a big fan of dance parties, so there it is, right? That's the spiel, the dance party spiel, and you can have it, right? I don't know, take it or leave it. There's some Joel advice right there. But I was just doing a lot of that before coming in here, and you know, I've got my Verners, and I'm just so excited to be doing the 10th episode, right? I always, I always, when I was younger, I used to always want to be on the radio, and I always used to imagine how cool it would be to be a DJ. A DJ, right? I always used to listen to 989 the bear. And I I really loved it, you know. I I grew up on Elvis and Hammer, you know, and I I just I I don't know. Well, I didn't grow up on it. I guess I I should say my music, music, oh man, music. That's that's an interesting topic. Yeah, I guess we're talking about it. We're going there, right? So my music route was interesting, right? I I love music, okay? Love it, love it, and my my music history is kind of funny, it's kind of a funny little story. So uh maybe I'll enlighten you guys. Uh-huh. So I didn't get into like rock and stuff like that until I was like a teenager, right? Teenager, maybe 13, 14. Maybe, maybe 13, maybe 14. Anyway, yeah, so I didn't I didn't get into rock music or anything like that. That was kind of considered cool until later on in life. And maybe maybe 12, maybe, maybe 11, 12. I don't know. Anyway, timelines, right? They're a little funny sometimes. And I was raised on oldies, you know, golden oldies, you know, the 50s, 60s, 70s, you know, well, 50s and 60s, probab predominantly. And you know, my my parents listen to go like oldies and some some some different types of things like that, some like disco and a lot of gospel, a lot of gospel music. And you know, which it is what it is, you know. When you're you're a kid and you're just kind of like, you know, going about your business, it is what it is. But yeah, they did like some oldies and some cool stuff. My mom likes some really cool music. My mom was really is really into music, she she really likes getting down to music. I remember a long time where she used to take like her music CDs and like put them on the computer and like upload things to like Apple Music and stuff like that, and put them on her iPod and do all this stuff. So that was kind of cool. And anyway, she's she's a big fan of of music. I uh that's where I got a lot of my music interest into, but we had we had just always had different interests in music, like I don't really listen to like her music, you know what I mean? Going, you know, I don't know. Definitely not anymore. But so it's so funny. When I first got into more modern music, was when I went to actually Catholic school. Funny thing, right? When I went to Catholic school, it was such a long ride, it was about a 45 to an hour-ish, sometimes maybe somewhere in there. Ride every day back and forth. And I was the first one picked up, and I was the last one dropped off. It was so fun how that just kind of worked out all the time. And even though I just lived like a mile out of out of town, and like all these other kids like lived all over the other dang place, right? All over the county, and I was just like right there in Paulding where we were already dropping kids off. Anyway, anyway, I guess everybody has their reasons, right? Bus drivers have to have a reason, right? A route. Anyway, so as we were riding the school bus on this along route, we got to listen to music, right? Started off, we all had like independent CDs and stuff like that, CD players, and that's when like I saw a disc man for the first time. I was like, oh my god, you know, oh my god, you know, I want one of those for Christmas, and I got one. So anyway, yeah, so I got a disc man, and I remember listening to my very first CD that I got was the Men in Black album, right? The soundtrack. Yeah, so good, such a good soundtrack. And in fact, one of the songs I can rap pretty much most of the way through, the uh the second one that you can't find on Spotify, it's a Snoop Dogg song, just want to party. And it's a good one. And why I was going to Catholic school and listening to that, you know, at such a young age, I have no idea. Because there's some stuff on that album, but I don't know. I don't know. Maybe maybe it's where I where I first became a badass listening to the men of black album. And anyway, it's so good. Y'all should go out and listen to that on Spotify or or wherever you get your chosen media, media enjoyments. But yeah, so I had the men of black album, and then I had like a blues brothers album and an Elton John album, and I feel like there was a weird CD that was snuck in there somewhere or something. I don't know, maybe it'll come to me. But then I I ended up like getting oh gosh. So when I was younger, I as then it transitioned. I got uh flipping back ADHD, sorry, thousand, thousand thoughts at a second, right? But going back, so then I got into I remember like riding the bus, and like all like all these kids were like, Oh yeah, what are you into? You know, I was in the third grade, and they were all getting to know me, so they're like, What do you like to listen to? You know, on the bus. And I was like, Oh man, I like the Bee Gees, right? Or something, or I don't know, old older stuff, even definitely old, definitely older stuff, right? Like uh the temptations and you know, golden oldies and stuff like that. Anything that you can think of. Anyway, sitting at the dock of the bay. That's a good one. Stand by me, that's one of my darn favorites. Anyway, good stuff. So anyway, they were like, Well, we like pop music, and I was like, What do you mean, pop music? Well, what the heck is that? So they're like, Here's Britney Spears, and it's like, What? What is this? And I was like, Okay, I can kind of dig it, you know. It's alright, it's okay, I guess. And they're like, Here's here's Backstreet Boys, and it's like, what? Okay, Backstreet Boys, here's the in-sync. And it's like, okay, cool, in sync, all right. 98 degrees, okay, cool, all right, cool. And then it like developed as like this little pop thing for a minute, right? And that was okay, and like I kind of fit in with that, and then then uh and it got weird, and I don't know, it just wasn't my style anymore. They started to kind of like not be good, right? It is what it is, and I don't specifically remember exactly who showed me, or maybe aha MTV, right? Back in the day when they actually showed music television uh videos, MTVs, yeah. Ha ha. Yes. Sorry, I had to had to pause for a minute and take a drink of my Verners. Anyway, do you guys like Verners? Uh, solid. I I actually found it not too long ago, like like maybe a year or two ago, and it totally blew my mind. Anyway, moving forward. So, yeah, so I actually was shown through MTV the music video for Red Hot Chili Pepper song Californication, right? I got shown that music video. So, like I was I was watching it and I was just blown away. I was like, first of all, this is like Grand Theft Auto, right? And then also or like a video game, right? I don't know, probably maybe I don't know. I can't think of when Grand Theft Auto 3 came out. That was the first three version of that. Anyway, anyway, if you're familiar with the music video, familiar with the game, you can put the two two together, right? But yeah, so I was blown away, but but I also love the song, I really love the song. And I'm like, oh my goodness, I don't really know what they're talking about, but I like the way that they're singing it to me. So I you know, if if if you guys are like that, you know, when it doesn't really matter like what they're saying so much in them in the song, but it's like how they're saying it, like their tones and like the the vocal like interchange, right? You know what I mean? If if you can marvel with that for a minute, right? But yeah, so anyway, so I I what I did was I got my my grandfather had a like a recorder, right? That you could you could hit play and record, you know, and then and record stuff. So I would always listen to the radio and I would have that ready for when I heard the that song come on the radio. So anyway, I would start to listen to 98.9 the bear and for Wayne's Rock Station. And anyway, so I would listen to that and all the time, and I remember like and I didn't listen to it at all, right? I I listened to 105.7 the bull, maybe anyway, radio radio stations, anyway. Uh so I I listened to that, right? But anyway, so I started listening to 98.9 the Bear, and he started listening to that, and I I remember getting these headaches, and I'd be like, oh my gosh, it's all this rock music giving me a headache. So funny. This is a long story about music, right? But anyway, so I would it anyway, I ended up getting over the headaches, right? And I used I got used to the rock music, like all the Metallica and all the ACDC, right? And all the stuff like that. And then it started growing on me. And I was like, okay, I kind of like these, and then I started recognizing them, and I started putting them together, and I'm like, oh man, I really like this. This is good, you know, and then I started feeling the emotions that come forward, you know. When you're listening to Mudvain's dig, you know, and you're like, Who are these guys? You know, this guy looks like Satan, you know what I mean? I like this, you know, because of all the the religious stuff that I got put through in one of those uh in episode three that I was talking about, right? If you guys went back to that and you're like, oh my god, you know, now I know why he likes this crazy stuff that he does. And but yeah, anyway, Mud Vane, dig, great music video, watch it. Totally will blow your mind. And but yeah, and then later I I got into rock, like like you know, now I I don't know, now there's like a term out there called butt rock, but rock, b-ut rock, and I don't know, some of it's a little bit like that anymore, you know. It's kind of tea party music, anyway. Not not so much for me anymore, but some of it's good. So the classics are good, right? And and like that era of rock music is really good, but anyway, so yeah, then it it molded from there. I later I I got a little political in my middle school years, and then I started listening to like anti-flag and blink blink 182 was a huge one that that came forward, and Blink 182 is still an all-time favorite for me, and bunch of stuff like that, bunches of stuff. And then later it went on to high school, and then I started hanging out with a different crowd in high school, and everything kind of changed, and then I got introduced to some real music lovers, and my mind was blown. So, I'm gonna give a big shout-out to my friend Jared Floyd and Ozzie Finnegan. Like, you two, like, like like they really showed me some awesome music and like blew my mind, and especially Floyd. Floyd Floyd and I still exchange music sometimes, and it's like dang, like he just really listens to some really good, sad music sometimes, and it's it's awesome, right? It's really good. But like back in the day, we used to like jam out to some Screamo and all kinds of different stuff. But yeah, so then it developed into that, right? And we start I started listening to more like Me Without You, which is my favorite band, and then we started listening to like Under Oath. My my first concert was Taking Back Sunday and Undere Oath. Taking back Sunday was touring for Louder Now, and Under Earth was touring for oh that that album is slipping my mind, but it's the one after the good one. You know what I mean? And yeah, it was an amazing show, blew my mind. Define the line. There it is, and find the great line, define the line, one of the two. Anyway, Undereath album. Anyway, yeah, so that was my first concert. Blew my freaking mind, and I love music, man. Like, I I used to sit up on like Limewire, Napster, Kaza. I feel like there was another one in there. Pirate Bay, you know, all the stuff from back in the day, you know, way back in the day. And Yeah, I used to just just download all this music. I was like, oh my gosh. Like I had like clippets and snippets and little little ditties and all kinds of little things like that. Like weird little things and sounds and like video game music and like I mean a library catalog, all kinds of stuff. It was great. I loved it. And you know, I don't know. I I I don't have any of it now. And you know, now it's all you know streaming and things like that, like the like the crazy internet. And you know, I I do have I have I've had iPods, you know. I I really miss the old iPods, if you know what I mean. Man, miss a good iPod. Like I have I had an iPod nano or an iPod mini? iPod mini, an iPod nano. That's a thing. Maybe that maybe there's no mini. Uh I had a nano, and then I had like a like a 20 gig iPod, and that was baller or 40 gig, 40 gig, 40 gig iPod, and then I had a the classic one that I have now, which is 160 gigs, and it's it's I got it like not too long before they went out of stock, right? And they just stopped making them, and I got really lucky and I I filled that sucker up, and it's it's it's gold, and it's still going strong. I I still plug that guy in and like revive some of my old podcast. I I throw them on Spotify now, and and I really like it. I really, really I I love me some music, and it's always evolving, it's always changing. Now I listen to a lot of like EDM type stuff and a lot of some folk music from time to time. I still love listening to why with a question mark, Serengeti, Yoni, Yoni Wolf, Serengeti, like all those guys. Anyone who's like related to like anti-con records and all kinds of good stuff like that. Oh my gosh, like experimental hip hop, man. Huge shout out to like Yoni, Yoni Wolf, and why with question mark that band and Josiah and Doug, the original, original Y crew. I'm sitting here looking at a Yoni Getty poster and thinking of thinking of all the the shows and stuff. Oh my gosh, all the concerts and stuff. Gosh, you know, here we are sitting at 25 minutes, and I just realized the time. But it's like, you know, I don't know. Music music is wonderful because it connects people together. You know, it's you know, anyone who's listening right now, maybe you've been like, yeah, I I know about that Mud Vane music video, Joel. Holy moly, right? And you're like all excited about it too. And that's a cool thing because like I I might not know you, but we could have that connection through that music. So we're like, okay, yeah, we can both get down to that weird stuff, right? Or not weird stuff, or maybe you're just like, no, I pretty much stuck with Britney Spears this whole time, you know? Maybe, who knows? Who knows? But anyway, this is I've been ranting tonight. I didn't want to just kind of go on a big rant, you know, for episode 10. It's it's kind of a big deal, right? Episode 10. Maybe not, maybe episode 11 is gonna be the real kicker. Who knows? But for those of you, like like I was saying earlier, you know, who who are following along, who are interested, maybe I don't know. This is supposed to be a health and wellness podcast. You know, I talk a lot about health and wellness, I learn a lot about health and wellness. I think it's more interesting just to talk about story stuff, right? You know, I don't know. Maybe you guys are like, no, I really want to hear your opinions on how I can do this or that or what, you know, whatever. And all that stuff is good. All that stuff has its time, it has its place. But right now, as I'm recording this, it's Friday night. It's a freaking weekend. We're about to have some fun, right? You know what I'm saying? And I don't know, there's a lot of excitement, a lot of stuff, and I don't know. I just thought of music and I thought, boop, uh, how fun to tell you guys a little music story. So, yeah, music for me, it all started back to Californication by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. So, thank you guys for introducing me to a plethora of really good music because I could be still stuck listening to oldies, right? Who knows? But the 80s had some amazing music too. Oh my gosh, and also Pink Floyd. Oh my gosh, music, music, music. Anyway, we could talk all day, we could talk all night. Obviously, I've gone over my 20-minute mark. Now we're at 27 minutes. So I am going to bid you all adieu, and thank you guys for tuning in to Wizard of Wonder so much. Thank you, thank you, thank you. And we'll tune in next time to have some more fun. Anyway, take care, drink water, move your body, and have a little dance party. You know what I'm saying? For real. Anyway, later, guys.
unknownBye.
