SPEAKER_05

Welcome to 702 Cheese Mat. This is Sabrina.

SPEAKER_00

And I'm Samantha.

SPEAKER_05

Wait a minute.

SPEAKER_06

Actually, I'm Sabrina. And I'm Samantha. We have two special guests today with us. We'll introduce you in a second, but before we get into it, we want to go off and explain how our day, our week has been.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Which gave you guys the catch-up, which it's been pretty good, busy. The weather makes it worse. Yeah, it's freaking snowed over here, which is amazing. But it makes it worse because you get you want to be lazy and you want to sleep and you don't want to do work.

SPEAKER_06

But and then this is like the most stressful time is when the weather's crazy. We don't know about like how the event's gonna go. So we're like constantly checking the weather app to make sure it's not windy, it's not raining, or anything like that.

SPEAKER_04

Because we do not want to see tents flying like always, because we usually see a tent fly on our windy event.

SPEAKER_06

For some reason, you guys bring little ass weights instead of an actual weight. You guys are guys, you can't be bringing five-pound weights to hold down a tent. It just won't the math ain't mathing.

SPEAKER_05

It just doesn't add up.

SPEAKER_06

It doesn't add up here, but it's been pretty good so far, thankfully. Can't complain. We're very thankful.

SPEAKER_04

So this episode is gonna be a little weird because me and my sister are like the closest together that we've ever sat. Like we're literally almost on each other's laps right now.

SPEAKER_06

We're sharing no, we're not, but we're sharing a microphone because we only have two microphones and we usually sit right in front of each other, like staring at each other, but this time we're like shoulder to shoulder because we have two special guests that you heard in the beginning. But because we're so close, I feel like it might be like a little bit awkward. I don't know.

SPEAKER_04

It is awkward because we have to keep like looking at each other to move. Like my sister like nods her head, like, move out of the way, it's my turn. But besides that point, like my sister says, we have two special guests, which is our mom and dad. Round of applause.

SPEAKER_06

Let's let's actually let them introduce themselves with their actual names this time, so you guys can go ahead. Hi, my name is Marlene.

SPEAKER_00

And I'm Chris, the dad.

SPEAKER_06

Okay, just remember guys, it says keeping it real. So no being shy. Just be yourself. That's what our audience loves.

SPEAKER_04

But um, like the last episode, we gave you like a little background of me and my sister. So we wanted to bring my parents into this because 702 is family-owned. Don't forget it's not only me and my sister, we're the faces of it, but it's all family.

SPEAKER_06

And a lot of you guys don't know that. So, like when my mom or my dad goes checks on vendors, you guys look like scared. Like you guys don't know who they are. So when they come and say, Oh, hi, can I are you guys doing okay? You guys look like they're police or something gonna arrest you.

SPEAKER_00

I think I've been referred to as the photo guy.

SPEAKER_06

Yes, and then my mom has been referred to as the lady. I think one time someone was referred to as a cleaning lady.

SPEAKER_03

Yes. Yes.

SPEAKER_01

Put down that broom.

SPEAKER_04

But I think, like my sister says, keep it real and let's um make it a little personal.

SPEAKER_06

Okay, so like let's just talk about us, basically. We want to know what were we like as kids. And keep it, I mean, keep it honest. Last episode I was like kinda attacking Samantha, and she was attacking me, so I wasn't attacking. I was being more respectful. No, no, you were not. Okay, but what were you like as kids?

SPEAKER_00

Um I don't think no, I don't think we can complain. I mean, it wasn't as as as young uh individuals, they they were pretty much you guys were pretty much um you did your own thing, you were into the toys and the things like that. It wasn't until we started having the the teenagers. It wasn't that, but I think that as most parents they deal with that, the teenage uh times. Um right? I mean, can you agree?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, yeah, I agree. Sabrina and Samantha were very lucky, um, honestly, very lucky to have them both. They've been um good kids growing up. They didn't really give us any problems. I mean, besides teenage, um, I would have to say Samantha was quite crazy. And Sabrina, she was a little more quiet, but now she she speaks up. Um even with the she is the type to agree to disagree, and Samantha's more like to show in her inner face when she doesn't like something. She's not much to say something, and if she does, then um she says what she has to say. But other than that, we're very lucky to have them, and I'm really proud of them of what we've have accomplished as a family, as them doing what they do, and we're very blessed and and very thankful to God.

SPEAKER_04

Did you think that we'd ever grow that we'd grow up we'd ever grow up? Did you think that we'd grow up to do something creative or how do you say it? On how do you say the word?

SPEAKER_06

Entrepreneur Oh my god, move. An entrepreneur.

SPEAKER_00

Um I think you guys followed our footsteps because you know, we were we weren't hustlers, but we were always trying to figure out like what else can we do? What else can we do? And I think you kind of leaned on that, like, well, now that we're young adults, what can we do at Queen? And that's when you came up with the idea of the strawberries, you know.

SPEAKER_06

Well, I honestly I remember I don't remember who it was, but you guys really pushed about starting your own business. Like if we didn't want to go to college, we didn't have to, but to start our own business and be successful and be our own boss.

SPEAKER_04

Girl, that was me because I'm older than you. They pushed call they they were pushing college in the beginning, I think, with me more. They wanted me to go to college, but call a shame for me. Well, you did.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, you did for a short time. You did.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, like for a little bit.

SPEAKER_03

You did for yeah, for a like for a day.

SPEAKER_05

Like you literally, it was for a day. No, you did go to college for for a couple months, but then you decided not to. But I've always I mean, we've always pushed like, okay, don't waste your time going to school. If you're not gonna go to school, waste money, but we do want you to be um something like start a business, be an entrepreneur, like um anything that is gonna you're gonna become your own boss and not have someone be your boss and have a nine to five job.

SPEAKER_06

Okay, and quickly before we continue, if you guys hear like a lot of background noise, we're all sitting on a table in the dining room. We're not like soundproofed or anything. So you guys will hear a lot of random noises. I think you guys know you guys will hear a lot of random noises.

SPEAKER_05

So we're basically starting from the bottom. Yeah, basically we're starting from the top.

SPEAKER_00

But that's pretty much how we start everything from the bottom to the top.

SPEAKER_04

So soon, in like a couple months, we'll have a soundproof. Sound actually my dad should start working on it soon.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, guys. See you later.

SPEAKER_06

Do you guys actually do you guys have like a fond memory of us? A fond? Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

What the fuck is a fond?

SPEAKER_06

Like a good memory. Um, I don't think I can't. Oh, it's actually Do you guys have a good memory of us that makes you laugh?

SPEAKER_05

What do you mean you don't remember, Mom? Really? I was gonna say there's not a specific one I have. I mean, they're all good memories. I can't really say there's one specific.

SPEAKER_06

What about a memory that makes you laugh? Like till this day.

SPEAKER_05

Oh god, there's a lot. I don't know if I should be saying these kind of things, but give like a hint and then we'll shake our head just.

SPEAKER_01

Or how about when Samantha would would sleepwalk? Oh my god, that was funny. Yeah, it was creepy funny because later on we laughed about it, but she'd walk into our bedroom, remember it she'd go through our like open the drawer, we'd be like, What the hell is going on with what is she doing? And then she'd leave the room and go back to bed and we'd be like, What the remember that?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I don't know, that's funny. You guys are gonna be like, What's wrong with that? Not even funny.

SPEAKER_01

Anything? I mean, there's a lot. We I mean we laugh a lot. I think we laugh more than anything.

SPEAKER_00

Um me and Sabrina do buttheads, but I think because we're very similar in in that part. But overall, I mean, I think we have a lot of laughs in this house, right?

SPEAKER_06

Sorry guys, my secretary. Everyone wants to talk.

SPEAKER_00

Everyone wants to be part of this.

SPEAKER_06

Okay, so without getting too like uh explicit, I guess, or like too in detail. Yeah, because we don't want our secrets going out there. Who do you think we got our personality traits from?

SPEAKER_00

Oh that that's easy. Samantha's a lot like me. Um sh um we're very we hold our s we hold our feelings in, I guess. We and it shows on our face. So if something bothers us, you'll see it in our face.

SPEAKER_05

Um Sabrina is more like me. We're more um I would say um if something bothers us, we will speak up and say something, we w won't back down. And we're little fighters.

SPEAKER_06

I mean, that's what we are. I think Samatha's a fighter too. Like I've remembered when she's jumped in and like almost thrown hands for me or stuff like that. But she was pregnant. Yeah. Like that's another story, but for another day. And for me and you, we're just vocal. Like, if we know something's wrong, we'll just say it.

SPEAKER_05

True, that's true. Yeah. Like you both are I mean, similar like that, but one is more um go there faster than the other one is more like take her time. But she's been there. I mean, she's yeah, she's always had your back in in any situation.

SPEAKER_06

So going into the next topic, um, we wanted like touch when we first started doing markets and like how you guys felt about it. Like we never really talked about, we always talked about like how we felt, what we thought, expect expect expectations, expectations versus reality, but we haven't like really got your POV on it. So what was the what was your guys' first reaction when we said we wanted to start doing markets? Like, were you guys surprised? Were you guys like not wanting to do it?

SPEAKER_00

Well, I I I think in one of your podcasts you you guys mentioned about that one that we had went to. We were the vendor and we're there, and you guys saw the young lady and she was walking around and just uh she had things in charge and and our dog wants to be part of this.

SPEAKER_03

Sorry.

SPEAKER_00

But um I I I think that's when we kind of I think we all had the idea like we want to do this, this is what we want to do, and and then we can kind of I think you can probably agree, right, that you saw the glow on them like this is what we want to do. We want to do our own our own market.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, when we did that one um um event, yeah, you guys did say you wanted to um host an event and and you guys would do things different and we just didn't know how to how to start or what to do at the time. So we kind of put it to the side, but when the offer was given to the girls, um I have to say I was not okay with it only because I didn't want to put something that we wanted to focus. And when the the offer was given to them, um it was one of my concerns, is that gonna take over? Is your focus only gonna be on working for this person to bring the vendors and all that? But other than that, I mean I feel like um one thing led to another and things happened for a reason and now we're here.

SPEAKER_06

So it sounds like it was like both nerves, like nervous, scared, but also like excited. Well, I don't know. Did you did you explain how you felt about it or how we felt about it?

SPEAKER_00

I mean, no, I mean we we all agreed. It was it was kind of an onboard like like I think like Marit says, it was it was it was concerning because this was completely new, but we already knew how to be a vendor.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

We already knew how to what we needed to do and how we needed to sell our product and things like that, but now we were getting ready to jump into another realm of finding vendors uh running a market, you know, and it's but like I think in one of your podcasts you guys said we we didn't realize the finance involved in it. That part, that's the you know, that's we didn't really think about none of that. It wasn't until reality kicked in then it's like whoa.

SPEAKER_06

And that's where like my mom and my dad they handle most of like the finance part, so like me and Samantha don't Yeah, we can't touch that. We don't touch that, we don't worry about that. It's more them that worry about that stuff.

SPEAKER_04

We already said in the last like other episode that if it was us, we'd be buying backdrops here and there and buying a bunch of stuff we wouldn't even need if it was us. But did you guys think that 702 would grow into what it is now?

SPEAKER_05

Um honestly no, I didn't think it was kind of it it was a little hard at the beginning. Um like one of the girls said it it did bring tears to to us because it didn't seem like things were gonna go right. And another thing, to be honest, I didn't want them to be taken advantage, you know, um from anybody, especially from whoever the person brought them in. Um because when once the girls put their soul and and heart to it, they or their minds, they they go in full in 100%. So I'm overprotected when it comes to that. I don't like them to be um over overworked or be taken advantage. I didn't see 702 to grow this big now, but um really excited.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I'm gonna have to agree. No, I mean I agree. It it's it's uh it we've we've done we're very how do I explain. We're we're very calculated, meaning we we make every dis everything that you see in 702 is is it's all it sounds like us, like you're repeating our speech.

SPEAKER_06

No, but because it sounds exactly like us. I think we said that word for word. I think how to do it.

SPEAKER_00

But but that's how we are. We we like we like you said in I don't know what episode it was, but you did say, and it's true, we stop and think, do we have this, do we do this, do we do and we go through this and we we pill it with like an onion till we decide, you know something that makes sense to do in the market. And I think that's what we've done as a family is we we've agreed, let's do this, no, let's not do this, let's do this, no, let's not do this, until we come to the conclusion, yes, we're gonna do it. And we've done baby steps on all those things to grow the market. Everything from advertising, everything from who we work with, um, who we bring on our team. It's it's everything's calculated and and I think it's it's made it work. And it's all it's not just one person making that decision, it's it's it's all of us that that come to that agreement. Because there's a lot of things that I oh I want to do this, and they look at me like I'm crazy. You know?

SPEAKER_06

I think we do that for each other. No, we do. We've had a lot. I mean, like I think we talked about in the last episode, like every family has their own arguments, own disagreements, and I think we do we have a lot. We do, any family does. But our disagreements are mostly when it comes to the market. One person might say, Oh, let's do this, let's do this, and then another person will say no, but I think that we take we take all opinions like lightly, because at the end our goal and our mindset is to better the market. It's never like own vendetta. I'm using big words today, you know.

SPEAKER_04

So what it takes it to the next question. What surprised you the most about what what we do, what we all do?

SPEAKER_00

Um, well, I mean, I like it it's a big it's a big task. I mean, Samantha's learned had to learn from ground up the whole licensing permits, insurance, all the paperwork. That's a big step. That's a big thing too. I I don't know it. Uh Sabrina, she had to figure out the whole marketing, not just on the social media, but just on the full marketing side, what to put, what to write, when to put it, when to uh blast out this, when to do this, how do it's just so much involved that I've seen them just just flourish, you know. Myself on handling and Marlene with the just the finance part and working with with um with who we're gonna do.

SPEAKER_05

I didn't even look surprised. Wait a minute. I don't what are you guys doing over there?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, sure you're a yes and no person too.

SPEAKER_05

So no, I have to say that um it's pushed our our limits. I mean it's pushed to, you know, like Chris said, Samantha, doing or knowing so much about the city, the health, um, filling out the applications, vendors, Sabrina, the social media, the the creating the reels and all that stuff. And it's it's pushed a lot of us into things that we weren't you we didn't even know that we could do, you know, and um pretty pretty proud of that.

SPEAKER_06

Thank you.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, so let's get down to you guys are out there dealing with vendors. Well, more my mom than my dad. My dad's more on the outskirts of it. But we've talked already shit of what we don't like and what we do like. Red flags, green flags. Yeah. So because you're out there, what is a red flag? Something that just irks your soul with the vendor.

SPEAKER_06

Like uh, I guess a pet peeve, something that you wish they didn't do or wish things were different. Like something that you just want to be like, ah, slap them, slap that hoe.

SPEAKER_05

I would say attitude. I I I can't take attitude. If I come to you with the good energy and try to talk to you like uh like an adult um and you start talking to me like um nothing, then I I go from one to ten real fast. Um I don't care at that point if we're owners of 702. I don't take disrespect very kindly. Preach. And then for you?

SPEAKER_00

Um I would probably say our property. Um like if uh we we we put up these at at Fantastic, we put up these these tapes, and we do it for a reason. We don't do it because we're we don't do it because we just want to be, oh we want to close you in. It's there there's rules that we have to follow, there's safety rules, and we're always thinking about safety. And you know, the tape is to keep individuals safe and know what's in and what's out, and when you see vendors go in and out and cutting the the tape or cutting, and that's why we end up going cattle gates, pedestrian gates. Um so that I think that that to me, because that's number one, it's we're we're doing it for a reason. We're not just doing it. Um, you know, we have to follow certain guidelines with with uh property city, things like that. But that that to me that that's my that was always my biggest pet peeve.

SPEAKER_05

But um you're right, Chris. I mean, that's one of the things is that's you're right. One of the things that really takes me out she's getting heated yellow tape. Um one is that's a sign of disrespect. And what if if we're asking you kindly to please do not go through the yellow tape, then don't go through the yellow tape. It takes time and effort from our crew people to to be out there putting the time. Tape, you know, it does take time away from them from doing other things, and it's just disrespectful to just go and and start pulling the tape, going through it, stepping all over the cables. You know, everything that we do is is money. Everything costs money. We like to take care of our things, and when we see things like that, is it really it does bother us, it really does because it's just like where's that respect and we give the respect, give us the respect back. True that. True that. So what's a green flag? I have to say that um I have a handful of favorite vendors. I do. Um, the ones that have been there from the beginning. I'm talking about retail vendors that have seen us from the from the start. They they respect the rules. It's not that I feel that they have to do it because they like us. I mean, no nobody's gonna do our event because they like us. Um they come and go, honestly. But the ones that do stick around is because I mean I'm sure that they see us as as some part of their family at this point, you know. And I have to say I have a very like maybe little tiny little fingers here of people that I do like some vendors, and I I have come to appreciate them and have some kind of um what would you say? Uh a special little place in your heart. Yes.

SPEAKER_06

Um, yeah, that's but not to interrupt what you just talked about, the that you feel like then I guess a lot of people think that they have this like idea that vendors are nice to us, they treat us good because they're the we're the market owners and we get spoiled or whatever, but it's not true. I mean, we can be the market owners and people still treat us like like people. Like they'll treat us badly, they'll give us attitude. It doesn't matter who we are, they they treat us the way they want to.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, it doesn't matter. We've been almost three years and we've had vendors come and go and they still don't appreciate all the hard work. Honestly, the girls put a lot of hard work, marketing, promoting everything, they do put a lot of work and some people don't know how to appreciate that. And um it's I think that that's why I said it's very few vendors that I really do care about that I can see that they do care. Others will, they come and go.

SPEAKER_06

Um what was your green flag of vendors? What is a green flag?

SPEAKER_00

Well, you said the the certain vendors, I say the comments. I like when I go by and they tell me they've sold and that that they sold out or they came close to selling out, or um, or this market's so organized, or the comments, the nice comments, and that that fills my heart because I know that our hard work has shown and and that that that to me that's that's the green right there when I hear that from vendors. That's true.

SPEAKER_06

And that's what we've explained before. Like, you guys don't even have to tell us he sold out. We're not expecting you guys to sell out. I mean, we know how hard it could be, but even the comments, like you know, we didn't sell out, but we had a great time.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, or the pivoting.

SPEAKER_06

Yes, or like uh my pivot.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, we see them this market, and then the next market comes up, and then they're and then you see that they've changed something or they've improved their they've improved their stand and they've pivoted, they've changed, and then you see like, oh, they're getting sales now because they see that they used our market to improve, you know.

SPEAKER_04

But we do have to give props though, because we have seen a change this year with our vendors who are upping their game.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Like we have seen a dramatic change in it. I don't know if it's because I don't know what's in the air. Hopefully it stays. But I have noticed, I think we've all noticed that vendors are like really upping their game. They're going with the themes.

SPEAKER_06

They actually care.

SPEAKER_04

Like they're actually caring. Like we've seen vendors last year, but I feel like this year we've seen more vendors bringing more stuff, changing, changing things or pivoting into adding even more stuff into their booth. And yeah, props to that. That makes us happy.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, it does. I think that just the effort. I mean, we've talked about it the first episode, I think, but just the effort that you guys are putting in, it means a lot to us. Like we've explained before, your booth is your storefront, and that's how we wanna we wanna not brainwash you, but what's it called? Culture start a cult. Culture little store. Like, what's the word? Like so right.

SPEAKER_03

No, we start scary music.

SPEAKER_06

We're starting a cult. No, we want to like very like influence you, like push you guys, push you guys, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

So I think like your little store, you make it cute, you make it welcoming so people can come to your your little store and buy from you.

SPEAKER_04

But I think what's helping though is gotta give us props is our themes.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, our themes are cute. Our themes are like very cute. We're talking like too much. I think they're supposed to be talking, sorry.

SPEAKER_04

So on another episode we talked about like being a family. I believe we talked about it, or am I imagining things?

SPEAKER_06

No, we did.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, about being a family and running 702 because it's all of us basically in in this market um and doing working together. But how do you think family support affects people who are chasing big ideas? What? Like so like how okay, so do you think family support affects basically running a business? Like, do you think so do you both look confused?

SPEAKER_06

I know how um how much of an impact does family?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, how much of an impact? So like for us, we explain that we don't have that much family support. We do somewhat, but we've lost a lot of family because of this. We stopped talking to a lot of family, and we basically at the end of the day have each other. So do you think family support helps in the long run kind of thing, or is it more like does it make an impact of run how we are successful in a market? Like a ch or chasing big dreams.

SPEAKER_06

Even chasing big dreams, like does family support really help? Is it impactful?

SPEAKER_05

I think it is. Of course it is, you know, when you you get family support from extended family within your own family, you know, the like the four of us. But at the end of the day, I think what matters is the support and the push that we give each other. That's what matters to to me, I guess. I mean, of course, extra support matters, it helps, it makes you feel better, it makes you feel like you're um doing something right, and those positive words, those supportive words I think would make a big difference too. If it makes sense.

SPEAKER_00

No, I agree. I'd agree because um we know we have each other's backs here. We know we have the same vision, the same dream, the same idea um and where we want to go and what steps we want to make. But I feel like um it if we had that added uh uh extended family support, that would probably um it'd be nice. It'd be nice to hear. It'd be nice to to have um individuals come to the market or even get a call from them, things like that. But unfortunately we're not in that situation and and we depend a lot on each other, and and uh that's why I think why I get happy when I hear vendors say, Oh, this is so cool, this is so nice, I did so well, I did so this and that. Because we we don't get that outside of the market.

SPEAKER_06

So I think that people don't believe us at like let's say that we have a friend or family that's in the business industry. They don't believe us when we say, We want to help you guys, you know. We do, it's genuine. We do want to help you guys, we want you guys to succeed. You want we want to partner up in some type of way for us both to succeed. I mean, we've been burned so many times, so we have like our guard up of how much we're giving because we don't want to be taken advantage of, but at the same time, we want everyone to succeed, we want everyone to grow with us.

SPEAKER_05

I have to say that we I I could say personally that I have family members that have businesses that um have been able to be successful in their own way and um not ones that they say, hey, let me guide you this way, let me tell you how to do this, or let me tell you how to do that. Um not asking for money or anything like that, but at least at least give me your your not your knowledge uh how to run a business. And it sucks that it's your own blood, your own family that just they think about themselves and they don't want to extend a hand or or or guide you in the right path. And everything that we've done, we've done um by making mistakes and we continue making mistakes. But it I think at the end of the day it's our mistakes and we're not getting any handouts from anybody. It's everything that we do is it's on our own. And I have to say I'm I'm fucking proud of that.

SPEAKER_06

I think that damn it, I lost my thought. Go ahead. I forgot. We're taking we're taking over. Oh no. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, now it's our turn. So what do you think? Should we tell them? No. Um no, but Martine's right. I mean, we we we've we've started from the bottom, and and I and I I I go back way, way, way back to when uh Samantha, I was her coach at a softball. And we had we had a shitty team. It wasn't it wasn't bad, but it wasn't great.

SPEAKER_04

Sabrina's was the shitty team.

SPEAKER_00

It wasn't it wasn't like we I mean we made it to the playoffs.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, we made it to the playoffs.

SPEAKER_00

But what got us there? We started from the bottom.

SPEAKER_04

My dad got us there.

SPEAKER_03

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

We started from the bottom. We started from the bottom and we went to the top, you know, and we worked our asses off the whole team. And uh, and I I always r like think about that, like, wow, remember how we were back then, and that's kind of how we are now, where we literally started from the ground, the ground, and and like Marnie says, we didn't get that that support that we thought we were gonna get. We didn't get that backup we thought we were gonna get. And it was just kind of like you're on your own, good luck later, and and then we're like looking at each other like, how do we do this? Do we do we let it fail? Do we do we continue this? Can we afford to do this? Um, you know, because we had so many ideas and so many big ideas, and we just said, screw it, we're we're we're gonna just do it. We're gonna go all in and we're gonna figure this out, and and and to this day we're still figuring it out, and we're still figuring out what's the next step, what's the next thing to keep this going, um, to where uh vendors don't get bored and guests don't get bored how to be different, how to be real, how to be and I think it's I think it shows in our market. I I I feel it does. I feel our guests can feel it, I feel our our our vendors can feel it. And if the and if they don't then I guess we're not the market for them.

SPEAKER_06

Okay. True, true. Get into it. What is something uh we stress about that you think is silly? All of us. Like go one by one, maybe like Samantha does this, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

No, you go.

SPEAKER_05

Let's hear the shit and see. Yeah, Samantha stresses over vendors, applications, permits, um, have to constantly hear that almost every day, having meetings every day, the calendar. Um Tabrina is more um I don't remember that. When did you say that? When did you tell me that?

SPEAKER_01

When can we take a break?

SPEAKER_05

Can we take a break? Do we have to have a meeting again? Um, Chris is like, um Does he should dress? You never said that, or when when did you change it? Like, what's my role? When did when is that my job now? When that'll become my job, and myself is like uh I don't know what it means.

SPEAKER_06

Yours um okay, so now you answer.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, yeah, okay. You said everything. I mean, I I that you you nailed it. You nailed it. Oh my god. She stresses over uh our time frame on doing things. Um are we gonna vent during the event?

SPEAKER_06

Something silly.

SPEAKER_00

Um something silly. Oh my god. Um dyeing her hair if she has time. That is true. Yeah, I mean, which are my shoes clean? I don't know. Um for the event. Um yeah, I I he I mean you you kind of ride with their stress, I think. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Sometimes we'll be talking about something and then my mom is like lost. Like she's on a whole different planet, and then my dad is not listening.

SPEAKER_04

Like he'll he might not even want it. Okay, Samantha, go ahead. About what? The same question. Uh like all of us? Yeah, just don't do yourself. Sabrina stresses about Sabrina doesn't really no, she stresses. I think she stresses when the likes aren't going good. That's like one stress thing that she does where it's like, okay, like calm down. Uh, my dad, I feel like the stress is more about the music.

SPEAKER_00

And no, it's not that I stress out about it, it's you guys stress me out about it. No, and because we take a while. No, because we take a while. Okay, no, no, let me let me explain. The rule no, hold on. No, wait, wait. The rule is give me the sounds, the soundtracks you guys want, and then I will collage them. I will I will create the mix. But then the time frame changes and this and that. So then I have to fill in certain songs. This was at the beginning.

SPEAKER_06

Still happening. No, I don't put no. Didn't you hear that song that we were like, it sounded like Taylor Swift? And we were like, who added that at this last event? I didn't hear. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, because Samantha added it.

SPEAKER_04

No, it was something Taylor Swift. It wasn't Taylor Swift, it was some other artists.

SPEAKER_00

But they add the music and then I mix mix the music.

SPEAKER_04

And so I think my dad really stresses out. I think he stresses us out because the other night, no, a story. The other night, me uh, we were like, my dad's like, I have to uh change a couple of songs out because they had curse words in them. So we're like, okay, so we thought it was gonna be easy as one, two, three, because it was only two songs. It was gonna be and we had other things to do, so it's already he started at like nine, I think, at night, and it's like 11 already. It was almost 12. It was 10. Yeah, but at 12.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, and we're like, what the hell is he doing?

SPEAKER_00

So we kept asking, like, what is just redoing the whole thing, the whole mix with the city. I don't need to be sitting down, you guys talking about beforehand.

SPEAKER_06

Somehow we make agreements, but for some reason he always says he wasn't involved. When we oh my god, guys, this recently happened. I lost an SD card. I recently, so I had this Yes. I had Sabathi like had a moment to like comprehend. I know I was like, what? Recently we had a camera and we had this important SD card that a videographer gave us back with videos that they took. We lost it. I was blamed. I was the one on the I was on the black list. I was the one that they're all blaming. Oh, Sabrina doesn't remember. She probably lost it. I'm like, no, guys, no, I didn't.

SPEAKER_04

I started- We only thought it was Sabrina because she was like high on mucinks.

SPEAKER_06

Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_04

So we were like, it's this drugie over here that took it and doesn't remember where it went.

SPEAKER_06

And Samantha to a point she was gaslighting me and she's like, You did it. I know you didn't. I'm like, no, I didn't. Like, I remember, I would have remembered if I'd done it. So my Samantha had the idea. Let me pull up the camera because we have a camera to watch our dogs when we're not home. And we pulled up the camera and we see the culprit disappear from the camera. We see this man show up, he pull he goes and hides from the camera. Then we see him appear and he puts the SD card in his pocket. We check the pocket the next day and it's the same place in there. So, like, you have to, he has sticky hands.

SPEAKER_00

We have to keep an eye on this bad habit I have.

SPEAKER_06

We have snakes in this house.

SPEAKER_00

I walk around the house and I'll see something and I'll be like, oh, I'm gonna put it away, and I always end up putting it in my pocket. And then so when I walk to a certain drawer or whatever, I take it out of my pocket and I put it away, and that's what happened. So yeah.

SPEAKER_04

So I think my dad stresses us out. My mom I think she stresses out when me and my sister are stressing out. That's when she starts. Yeah. But I don't think my mom stresses out. I think it's more like My mom stresses out about the other business.

SPEAKER_06

Not really 702. Because we recently we recently did a change, so we started doing mini pancakes, which the outcome was amazing. We're very thankful. But that whole like change was like very stressful to her, and I try to help her when it comes to it. So like I'll take the stress too. So like so she's not the only one stressed about it. But I think other than that, she'll like she me and her will look very into words and what people are messaging us. So if some a vendor is like questioning us or like saying something, me and her will pick apart the message and analyze it. And sometimes she doesn't longer than me. Like she'll be late at night, like, do you think that vendor meant this?

SPEAKER_04

It could be like a what time is set up. And they're like, Did that vendor come with attitude?

SPEAKER_00

And she says it's she says she's staying up watching TikTok, but you know, you know that she's staying up analyzing that message from that vendor. Because she'll be like, I'll be like, What time do you go into because I always fall asleep first. What time did you go to sleep? And she's like, Well, probably about one, I think, 12, 1 o'clock.

SPEAKER_06

But she's our eyes, she sees everything. Things that we miss, she'll see it. Yeah. So be careful, guys. She'll keep an eye on you guys.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, so since me and my sister always like questioning each other and seeing who gives what answers, we're gonna do you guys now. So who's more dramatic? Mom, you go first. You're done. Okay.

SPEAKER_06

No talk about it. Well, like, can we edit in a thinking moment for her?

SPEAKER_00

I don't know if we could do that. So that's compared to it.

SPEAKER_06

Okay. Who stresses more before? No, what? My dad. Oh, so like his turn? Okay, so who's more dramatic? Same question for you.

SPEAKER_00

Between all of us or me and her?

SPEAKER_06

Between all of us.

SPEAKER_00

Oh well, Samantha's dramatic when it comes to the freaking vendors and the perm, I gotta pay today. Or oh, oh, my cutoff date's tomorrow. She's so dramatic. And she says she's like She is so dramatic. It's like, it's like, I should record it. I should record it.

SPEAKER_06

And then she'll be like, I have to do it today. I it's like do today. And then I'm like, okay, do it. If you can't help with this, just do that. A week later, I have to do it today. And I'm like, didn't she do it last week? She lied. Today.

SPEAKER_00

Today. Today. Oh, I gotta, I gotta pay this today. I gotta pay this today. Yeah, but why did you have to get so dramatic about it? It's just pay it. Go get go pay it. But she makes this big old like song and dance, and I gotta do it.

SPEAKER_04

Like, okay, all right. Anyways, who stresses more before events? Well, me again.

SPEAKER_00

I think it's you. No, no.

SPEAKER_06

I think it's a tie.

SPEAKER_00

That's be yeah, you do stress out because you're like, oh, do oh, are is this gonna be enough for for for for the you'll be like, is I don't know if I made enough. I don't know that you get all you stay up late the night before.

SPEAKER_05

No, I don't. I yeah, I I do stress out about how much I make, but I think it I think the girls stress out more because they have more on on their hands and then of course Chris with the speakers and the cables and and everything else. But I'm more in the back just watching them.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, I think that we I stress out because we don't live close and there's been many instances where we forget something. So I'm like, I go down a checklist with Samantha and I'm like, did we get this? Did we get that? Did we get this? But to stress about like the outcome of it, I think we've done better. I think when the weather is bad, Samantha's like the most stressed.

SPEAKER_05

Oh my god. The winds.

SPEAKER_06

I calm down on it. No. When it's windy, she'll be like, have you seen that? Like when they stick their tongue, their mouth, their finger in their mouth, and they touch the air and they're like, the weather's gonna be windy. That's you.

SPEAKER_05

She's already worrying about next weekend.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

I guess. Okay. Next one. Who actually runs the show?

SPEAKER_00

Who runs the show? That's a good question.

SPEAKER_03

What's that mean?

SPEAKER_00

Who's the boss? Who's the the one that makes the decisions? Who's the one that's like I don't think anybody no? It's the four of us. And I think that's what makes us where we are now, because we don't we don't overstep like everybody knows what they have to do. I'll admit sometimes I'll be like, I'll jump in and say they but at the end, it it's it's really the it's really the four of us.

SPEAKER_06

I think that you before you're like in everyone's zone, like you're in everyone's role, and now you kind of like got into your own.

SPEAKER_00

That came from my work history. I mean I've always I've always been No, you want it to be everywhere. No, but uh when you're when you're a manager for so long in employment, you you you just it's just it's a force of habit. I I I believe. But they're looking at me like I'm crazy.

SPEAKER_05

I don't believe you're crazy. Um I would say that um when it comes to I think we all have a part on the business, but when it comes to the vendors um placing the vendors, um getting the or um what do you call it? Not hiring the vendors, but accepting the vendors. Um it's all them. It's Amantha and Sabrina. Um we they'll come and ask for opinions, we'll give it, but they're the ones placing the vendors. We have nothing to do of where they're gonna put them or how they're gonna put them. That's really up to them. We don't have no involvement. Uh we are more in the background supporting them, making, you know, helping them make decisions here and there or um other decisions. But other than that, it's it's the four of us. We all have a role.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, I think that who runs the show, I I don't think we can say who specifically does. I think that we're all reactive. So I would take the credit. I think I'm the PR manager and I'm the most calm when it comes to situations while everyone else is like running around crazy. But other than that, no, don't think so. I honestly don't know what my role is. All I do is this is a discussion off mom. Again, we have to go through this.

SPEAKER_05

All I do is repulse people's tags or or their No, you help with messaging vendors.

SPEAKER_06

You help the most I don't answer vendors messages. I just do the giveaway. I think that she does she keeps track of things, things that we can't handle. She's like our assistant. Yeah, I guess I can say secretary, yeah. She's the not assistant, secretary, she's the front office, like the first person that answers things. Your guy's bodyguard.

SPEAKER_00

Well, the crew too, the team members. Yeah, uh so she's also uh yeah, so you're you're you're the you manage them.

SPEAKER_05

Like front office. Um yeah, I can do that, but then we have Daphne that is she's our little lead person now. She's awesome and her honestly Daphne. Um yeah, she's a she's a good lead person, but honestly, we have uh a good little crew there going on. We do we have Anthony who's gonna be two year a year with us already. Yes, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

I like that little we've honestly we've never like said names. I didn't know if we could, but I mean it's not like uh too late. They didn't assign like an NBA, we can't like break it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, we didn't think they did.

SPEAKER_05

I have to say that we we have a good crew now. I mean it was they they work hard. I know Anthony only and Daphne. No, I was I was gonna say yeah, Anthony's gonna be with us right here, and Naomi's gonna be with us pretty soon a year two. She's she's good at what she does, she helps us out. She's been there, you know. She's been there from the beginning too, just like Anthony. And now Daphne, she does a great job, and then now we have Lilani and and Isaac.

SPEAKER_06

So it's a good team. We're very thankful. We're very happy with our team right now. I feel like it we just fit family.

SPEAKER_04

Even like thinking about it, who actually runs a show, I think they're a part of it too, because they're the ones that make 702 look how similar to the city. We have to give them credit. Yeah, so I give them credit.

SPEAKER_00

We all do props to them. They're they're they're uh they they they're out there, they're sweating, they're out there. I mean, I'm out there with them.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

But uh but for the most for the talking, yeah. Talking to vendors. But uh for the most part, you know, they're out there putting putting our props and things like that. And then when it comes to the event, cleaning, they make it look pretty.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, they keep it clean, organized also.

SPEAKER_00

Because that's that's always been our vision organization, cleaniness, and we we've always wanted to be different than anyone else.

SPEAKER_06

Okay, so next question. This one I'm kind of excited for.

SPEAKER_04

Uh who's the hardest to deal with when tired?

SPEAKER_05

You're taking too long. Okay, go ahead.

SPEAKER_04

You guys go.

SPEAKER_05

You guys go.

SPEAKER_06

Okay, tired.

SPEAKER_05

You me?

SPEAKER_06

No. Okay. I can say me or our dad.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

He's like uh he's like a a bear when he's angry, when he's tired. Samantha. We're falling asleep. Yeah, Samantha's more like lost. Like she'll be just like lost, looking at the sky, wondering if it's windy.

SPEAKER_05

What are you doing? Hurry, you want to go home already. Tired, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

I think Sabrina. Sabrina. But I'll work. She'll ru work with attitude.

SPEAKER_06

If I'm hungry, I'm hungry, but that's it. Next question though. If you guys had to run a booth, like let's say a retail booth, to make it easier, what would you sell?

SPEAKER_00

I don't know about that. I mean, we have some great vendors out there. I don't want to take props on that.

SPEAKER_06

Um I mean, it's something that you've seen before that you like. I mean, we're not starting the business. We're just we're the guys that are not planned for it.

SPEAKER_01

Hey, hey, maybe I got an idea.

SPEAKER_05

Wait, that's just like uh I have one. I would I probably would start a uh printing shirts.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, true on on the spot.

SPEAKER_05

I think that's cool when you do it right there and you're printing the shirt. They pick their what like a show. What is that? The DTF. The DTF. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

And that's funny because I was thinking hats.

SPEAKER_05

That's another one.

SPEAKER_00

Hats, like, you know, just right there on the spot. Not not the not the patches, but like um like printing. Print, like DTF prints on the hat.

SPEAKER_06

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

I don't think I've seen it that right there on the spot and printing it right there on the spot.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, we have some nice um hat vendors, but they don't print on the spot. The only thing that people like I would say print would be like tumblers. Yeah, they do pretty much. I've seen them like wrap the tumbler with the vinyl, but that's that's good.

SPEAKER_04

So let's do a lesson for the baddies. That's what it's educate the baddies. Oh, educate the baddies. So what's one lesson?

SPEAKER_00

What are baddies?

SPEAKER_04

Like what are baddies? Girls, girls, bitches.

SPEAKER_06

No. I mean, if you want to say like bitches, like yeah, the girls can't like the bitches, the bad bitches. That's what you meant. Yeah, like bad bad bitches. The bad bitches, the girlies, like that. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

So what's one lesson you tried to teach us growing up that applies to what we do now?

SPEAKER_05

I would say for myself, um, to always stand up for yourself, never let anybody talk down, never let anybody step all over. Um speak up. I say speak up. Okay.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, which is a lesson, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

What was the question again?

SPEAKER_04

What's one lesson you tried to teach us growing up that applies to what we do now?

SPEAKER_00

Follow your your dreams. Always just don't don't don't let anybody I think it was just don't just if you have an ad if you have an idea, you have a dream, you have you have uh an idea, just go for it. Don't don't who cares?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. That's the next question I was gonna ask is what advice would you give to somebody trying to build something?

SPEAKER_00

The same thing. Don't let anybody tell you no. Because you can you can fail, but fail because you failed, not because you've allowed somebody to let you fail.

SPEAKER_05

Hmm, that's really good. Um, mom, what do you think? I would say the same thing. Don't don't give up. It's it's not easy, it's always hard. It's been hard for the four of us. I mean, there there's there was times at the beginning that we just wanted to just give up, you know, and and say, you know, that this is not for us. But at the same time, we didn't want to give we didn't want to give up and prove to ourselves that yes, this is gonna be hard, but we can do it. And that goes for anybody. You don't let anybody stop you, don't let anybody say that you can't when you can. Um, and you just keep with your head up and keep going forward.

SPEAKER_06

Let's do a quick, like, free promo. Why should a vendor join 702 Market?

SPEAKER_04

That's pretty good.

SPEAKER_05

Uh, we're family oriented, we um can say we're genuine, we do help people. We if we do help, it's because we want to help. It's not because we're forced to. We're honestly, I feel like we are a good-hearted family that um we were there. We know how hard it is, and we try to help. Uh we could give everything for free, we would, but we can't. We have bills, we have fees to pay. But um we the girls work hard for what they do, they promote, they um you can say yourself. We we we do what we say or we say what we do. And it's 100% guaranteed.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

And you um we I think I like I said earlier, we build the platform for you. The fees understand where the fees come from. Our fees go directly towards the cost of the property. The fee goes towards the cost of the permit, your licensing permit, uh, the special event permits, the insurance, our staff, our promotions, all of your fee goes somewhere. So know that you know we're not just here for to pocket that full amount. We're here to turn around and build this market, build this platform specifically for you guys. So that way you guys can go out there and do your thing and sell. And I think like that's why what makes our I wouldn't say different because every there's other markets that do primarily fairly the same thing, but we push ourselves to be different. We push ourselves to be genuine and genuine and and uh and yeah, I mean that's that's 702 market.

SPEAKER_06

I think it's just it's crazy to see how far we've come from childhood to running events. I mean, from owning a vendor booth to owning a market like this. It's it's I it leaves us speechless sometimes. I mean, it's like a a full circle moment that we all feel, and sometimes we don't really talk about it. I mean, we really it really hit us when we hit when we did the first road closure because it kind of like was like a a happy moment, like a big moment for us, but just to like sit back and just really think about all the things that we've done, all the accomplishments, all the battles that we've fought, things that we've gone through. It's just it's it's a full circle moment. We want to take our time now to thank you guys for the support that you guys do give. I know that my mom she said earlier, what's her role? I mean, her role is more than that. She helps with a lot, they both do, whether it's with the music playlist that we could go for a DJ, but you guys you doing the music really helps a lot. Building um building things that we want and we bug you with. We could be paying hundreds of dollars to go have someone build it, but for you to go and put effort to do it, another thing that helps us. My mom answering questions, we do we she's constantly asking what do we need help with she sees when we struggle. So, like those things that extra help that we get from you guys, we couldn't do it by ourselves. I think we would be like shedding, shedding hair like constantly if we would. But we wanted to thank you. I mean, Smatha, do you have anything to say?

SPEAKER_04

No, like my sister said, it's I think it's not only me and my sister that can take credit for for the big things as to running permits and or social media. I think it's the smaller things also that not vendors vendors don't see it's my dad uh setting up the stereos at the events, running the cords, dealing with vendors stepping on the cords. It's like what he does climbing on a U-Haul just to put stereos up there for music. And then my mom for the little things as well, handling 702 when we need that backup. She's quick to get there, even when her knee's hurting, she's there to deal with the vendor for us.

SPEAKER_06

I think that we all pull pull our own load, and we all can say that 702 is our our job. We can't say that, oh, they own it, they do all the work when we couldn't do it by ourselves. We have to do it together, and without them, like I said before, we I don't think we would have gotten this far, just me and Samantha doing it.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, we wouldn't.

SPEAKER_06

We wouldn't have. It would have been all of us. It would be it needs to be all of us. So one final question before we end this. What do you hope we never forget as we keep growing as a market?

SPEAKER_05

Stay um I'm gonna cry. Stay humble, stay grateful. Thank God. Um never lose yourself and always keep going forward.

SPEAKER_00

Um pretty much the same. Um staying humble. Um and that's why we keep our that's why we keep because it keeps us humble. It reminds us and stay it keeps us uh it keeps us humble to know that it we are vendors still, even though we run a market. And we know how hard it is, and we know how difficult it is and what's involved, so we do it to always keep us grounded. Um and so yeah, stay staying humble and and and the man above, he's he's he's uh been grateful to us um and watching over us and protecting us, and and and we do it, we pray constantly for for our families and friends, and we even do it for our vendors. We always say uh that they have great sales, you know, um, because again, we do this market for for you guys. Um and I think my father said one time years ago, he says uh he said, work to live, not live to work. And uh basically just do what you want. Work, work, work to have fun, work to to to uh to do what you want and and push yourselves.

SPEAKER_05

Well, I want to say thank you, girls, for having us in our dining table today. It was a it was a pleasure to be here talking to you guys, and I want to say um I'm very proud of you too. I love you guys.

SPEAKER_00

And same here. Um, you know, they told us, hey, by the way, you're gonna be part of the podcast. And we're like, oh, okay. Um not used to this, but it was fun. Um I'm behind the scenes usually and helping them record if I have time. But um, yeah, thank you. Thank you for having us and and the continued work that you guys do and the vision you guys have, and and uh and it's been a really awesome journey. And and man, if we can only just tell you the the the meetings and phone calls we have, it's just been it's been some really, really awesome things coming up, uh these meetings that we've been going to and how we're it's so easy. I wouldn't say easy, but um we're people are reaching out to us now and saying, hey, can we have a meeting? Or hey, can we have a call? And it's it's it's pretty awesome to to hear these things, and that's because of the you guys out there. It's because of the growth, it's because of 702 market. So uh we it's exciting.
