You are listening to the Family Business Podcast, episode number thirteen. For business inquiries, you can reach us at thefamily business dot chat at gmail dot com. Thefamily business dot chat at gmail dot com. Once again, like we always do. And it's not just a formality, it's the honest truth. We want to thank everybody for listening, for downloading, uh, for spreading the word. Uh, very excited on the numbers, uh, very excited on the emails. Uh, I know we always say we're gonna get to those emails, but I don't think we're gonna get to them again today. Uh, love the encouragement, love the feedback. Uh it's crazy how much controversy uh we've been getting in regards to the whole Sharia law.

SPEAKER_01

Well, because because it's nothing to do with law.

SPEAKER_00

I think I'm not gonna I don't want to say her name or because she responded as anonymous, but it's funny. So I had someone email in uh basically saying how how can we as ourselves as Christians, right? We uh we have our faith, we have our religion, we believe in it here, we allow it here, but we're not gonna allow another religion in the country.

SPEAKER_01

Well, that's easy. You want me to answer that?

SPEAKER_00

Go for it.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, because uh Islam is not a religion. That's why. It's a way it's a way of life, it's a way of life, and uh, you know, I I I saw this short where uh uh uh you know they're saying, Why do you why do you believe in Jesus and nobody else? And the guy looked at him and said, Well, you're you're on the road and there's two paths. One guy's dead, one guy's alive. Who are you gonna listen to? You're gonna listen to the live guy. The dead guy's dead. So obviously that's not the road to take.

SPEAKER_00

Well, Jesus is the in terms of the of the of religions, he's the only quote unquote king or messiah or lore, actually no, God that is alive. Still alive, that's right. All the other ones are dead. That's right, you know? Uh, but no, but it's funny because and I'll probably lose her for saying this, but she emailed us, her receipt was uh thank you, anonymous. Okay. But her name's in her email address. Yeah. So it's like, what are you gonna do? So just just for the future, if you are listening, you know who you are. Uh you're probably slapping your forehead right now. Just just the heads up if you want to it doesn't matter. Not like you said anything that's gonna make me go to the authorities or anything, but just in the future, if you want to email in anonymously, just make sure your email account, your address is anonymous. Could be a fake name, could be. Right. Right, but still, you don't want to have a name in an anonymous email. Well, I mean, for future reference, you can be careful. Yeah. Uh today's drink of choice, as we always do, as we record on this early Saturday morning, uh, is uh just a simple Canadian-made. I actually think it's from Quebec. Quebec, yeah. Uh Naya. I remember um because we used to always buy, we buy the uh where we live, it we don't have access to uh city water. So we're on uh Natural Springs water, which you're not supposed to actually well, I don't I don't know what the actual rule is. Probably safer than this crap. Probably, but anyways, but we have we buy water bottles and we drink other water bottles, and um which actually reminds me, uh we waste so much. Listen, I'm not a I'm not a a don't throw out plastic and protect the environment. I'm not one of those guys. I think it's all BS. Because let's be honest, and this is something that I would love to actually investigate one day, but I know for a fact I make fun of people that actually recycle. Oh, so do I. I I think it's it all goes to the same place. It's it's it's a joke, it's it's fake. Um, but I'm actually going today to look into how much it's gonna cost to get one of those, you know, those things that you press, you buy those big jugs and you put it on top. The five-gallon one. It's just it's just it's A'll be a lot cheaper than buying water bottles. Uh yeah, I guess. Right? And all you have to do is what I've been doing lately is instead of drinking on a water bottle, you get a cup or something, and you just go. Yeah, but is that plastic or is it glass? This is plastic.

SPEAKER_01

Plastic, okay. Why? No, uh uh something about plastic particles and stuff, you gotta be careful. I don't know that.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but they were drinking out of plastic water bottles, so what's the difference? That's what I'm saying. But anyway, so um I lost my train of thought. Where was I going with that? Uh the water bottle. Oh, just drink of choice. And what I was gonna say was when Trump first started the tariffs, okay, right? Remember there was that company, Pure Life. Yes. As a Nestle, and that's actually an American company. Okay. So they used to have that water, Pure Life, which is everyone drank Pure Life water up here in the GTA. But once the the first initial round of tariffs came, they stopped selling selling it, and Naya became a very popular uh Canadian brand and actually passed Pure Life Nestle for uh for bottled water, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I just I just like I just like the fact it's got a larger hole in the top and it becomes yes.

SPEAKER_00

We always argue this, and if you're listening, I would love to get your opinion on this. I always argue this with my dad. He's like, ah, water's water, it's all the same. It's not. If you get five different now, mind you, water's like Dasani. Okay, like it has a weird taste to it. But if you were to get a president's choice bottle of water, a Naya water, a pure life water, okay, you can taste the difference between all three.

SPEAKER_01

Some some sort of processing or whatever.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know, but it clearly oh I I can't drink the no-name brand water.

SPEAKER_01

Well, remember when you you you lived in Florida and we would come and visit you and syphilis. Yeah. Well, what's the actual name?

SPEAKER_00

I forgot what it was. Syphophrilia or something? Yeah, we can call it syphilis water. No, the best water, I think I've actually mentioned this on the show before. The best water. Remember, we used to do business in the States, we used to go to Niagara Falls all the time. Right. And we used to go to the hotel and used to buy the big jugs. I know what it is. You know, say it. Poland Springs. Poland Springs. Yeah. And whenever we had baseball tournaments and tournaments in the states, like Michigan and New York, we would always buy Poland Springs water. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I don't, you know what? It's funny. I was introduced to Poland Springs. This is a really crazy story, but uh I had uh I was in Knoxville, Tennessee, and I'm driving back, and I'm in a little Ford festiva. Festiva. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Now I didn't know if Steva was Ford.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's a festiva. Yeah. So anyway, so uh it had AC, but the AC broke and it was so hot it was hotter, it was hotter outside than in the car. Right. So I'm literally driving a sauna. So I said, screw this. I I'm basically down to my boxers, and I'm sweating. And I I drank a whole gallon of Poland Springs. Yeah. And didn't have to stop once.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, because you sweat it all out. That's that's me in Poland Springs. It's funny you say that because there's that game. It just shows you how immature we were. But my my but my buddy and I, back in the day, it would be like 30 degrees outside, and we'd be driving somewhere or whatever. I always remember we did it, hey. Remember I had that Ford Explorer. Yes, okay. And we call it the Deathmobile because the tiger fell off as we were driving. Right, yeah. So I remember that one time we're going visiting another friend's house, and this my friend, if you I mean, you know him, so you know how crazy he is, but we always play this game in the summertime. How do I be over 30? Okay, where we would put all the windows up. Well, to our American friends, that's over 85 degrees. Right. So we'd always put our the windows up and we would blast the heat in the car. Full blast. And the first person to roll the window down loses.

SPEAKER_01

Now, is there any flatulence involved?

SPEAKER_00

No, no, no, no. Well, actually, no, yeah, there probably was. But you're like, you're sweating. Yeah. You're sweating like crazy. And then to the point where like you open the window, and literally there's almost not actual steam, but it feels like steam is going out. And that cold air that you rush, oh, it's from from Knoxville to Toledo.

SPEAKER_01

That's that was me.

SPEAKER_00

Right, yeah. So I feel your pain there. Um, but we're gonna move on here. We're going to talk about probably the biggest thing going on around the world today. Oh, okay. You can't get away with it. You can't turn on any channel in the news without seeing something about it. Um, even if you're not, I'm gonna ruin it by saying this. Even if you're not a sports fan, you know what's going on. Right. And chances are you're at least two, not maybe not tuning in, but checking the scores of either it's your country or some country you like in general. And that is the World Cup. Oh, yeah. All right. The World Cup is going on, and uh, so we're recording Saturday morning, just yesterday, Canada opened up its doors, specifically the city of Toronto, for the first ever World Cup match on Canadian soil. That's crazy. Yeah. Did you see any videos or photos of the scenes? No. Downtown was in it was in, well, not really so. For those of you who don't know or aren't familiar with Toronto, the actual soccer stadium is not, I don't want to say it's not the downtown core, but it's not actually where it's still. But it's not where like the Sea and Tower is, where the Rogers Center is, or the hockey arena. But far enough where the celebrations wouldn't be anywhere near the C and Tower. That's true. Okay, I'll give you that. It's probably what, as American terms, maybe what? Five miles? Uh not that far. Not that far? Oh, not that far. So BMO field. BM BMO, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Two and a half, two miles? Maybe two miles. Okay, okay. Miles, not kilometers. I'm saying miles specifically, yeah. Okay. Anyways, the scenes were electric. Like it was like 10 o'clock, the flags, the red smoke. It looked like it was like uh uh Mad Max movie. Have you ever seen the Mad Max Fury? Like the flags everywhere, the chants, the drums, and even I heard now correct me if I'm wrong, because I just heard some news uh stories.

SPEAKER_01

Everybody was in red.

SPEAKER_00

Red, sea of red. Nice, nice, right? So, and just to show you, and I'm not gonna talk too much about the sport side of things because I know this isn't a sports podcast, but you know, we can we can have a little bit of Canadian pride. Uh the I was watching the game last yeah yesterday, and even the commentator was saying how far the Canadian soccer program has come. Because remember, Canada's Canada was never known for soccer. Not really. Not really, right. Because here's the issue, and we've taught I think we've talked about this, is Canada, honestly, honestly, Canada should probably be a top five soccer nation just based off the amount of immigrants and the um and the wide variety of countries that are represented in this country. I always wondered about that. But here's the thing, and I and this is my exact words from a previous episode. Um if let's say I was a big soccer superstar. Okay. Okay. I and I had the ability, I could legally play for Paraguay. I could legally play for Argentina because of my grandparents. That's right. So if I'm a superstar, why would I not want to play with Messi? Why would I want to play for Canada? Right? Now you can say it's a lack of pride, and I'm gonna say no, it's got nothing to do with pride, is because of why would I want to play for a bad program? I want to win.

SPEAKER_01

Well, you want to, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

But now the tide has kind of shifted, right? Like one of Canada's um best players, he's actually the captain this year. Okay. He was born in Canada, right? But then he moved, his family moved to Portugal when he was young, and he was raised in Portugal, whatever, whatever, but then he came back to Canada. He would easily be on the Portugal roster. Right. But he's saying, No, it's our time to build, and he's been on the team for a while, it's our time to build the Canada soccer. Nice, right? Um back in when when BMO Fields first opened, they hosted a bunch of Canadian friendly games. Okay. They would have like 5,000 people, 6,000 people yesterday, sold out. I think it was like just just under 40,000 people.

SPEAKER_01

But wait, what's gonna happen is after the World Cup, whatever happens, yeah, uh, it it's gonna be um like a momentum.

SPEAKER_00

See, and that momentum started, because remember, it was announced that Canada, USA, and Mexico were gonna host the World Cup. It was announced like eight years ago.

SPEAKER_01

Right. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So last World Cup in Qatar, I don't know if you remember, but Canada went on a very special run. And they actually won the qualifiers for North America. Okay. So we weren't even supposed to make the Qatar World Cup. The whole point was to prep and plan and get ready for the World Cup that we're hosting. But Canada just became an unreal team, beat the US, beat Mexico, beat um all the Central American teams, like you know, Jamaica and and all those and Haiti, all those good soccer teams. Right. Um, and we ended up qualifying for the World Cup. So the momentum already started four years ago in Qatar. Now, do we win at all in Qatar? No. No. Do we even get a point? No.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, well, that's right, because the guy who scored, that was the first point in the World Cup for Canada.

SPEAKER_00

No, no, they scored in Qatar. Well, they have. But because they tied yesterday, that's the that's what you mean by the first point. Oh, yes. So they got a point for tying. For tying. But the game was the game was so frustrating. Like, in terms of possession, it was probably 70-30 Canada. Like the ball really it's sh if Canada just finished, it should have been like a 4-1-5-1 final. But typical, you know, Canadian, especially funny being in Toronto, you know, the expectations are super high, and this can't deliver. And right. Like if we lost yesterday, we scored like in the 79th minute. Okay. Right, to tie it up. If we lost, it would have been very bad. Because we are expected to advance past our group.

SPEAKER_01

Well, so you mean you mean so the the Canadian soccer is like the Maple Leafs. It's like the Maple Leafs, exactly. They killed under pressure. But the Americans yesterday, I was I was shocked. I wasn't. No? They're they're they have a lot of firepower. Yeah. Okay, put it this way. In your vast uh experience in sports and what you have you watched the game yesterday for the Yeah, I watched the whole thing. Okay. Can you see the Americans in the final? No. Okay. If the Americans win the World Cup, I'll never watch it again.

SPEAKER_00

No, if you ask any real soccer American fan, even like the commentators, okay, basically if they can get to the round of 16, they would be happy. That's a successful World Cup for them. Oh, okay. Yeah, but there's no way, no, there's no. It that would be almost as as crooked as the France World Cup in '98. You remember that. I mean, I remember I remember I was I was a kid, but I remember watching that with you're going dead.

SPEAKER_01

This is not right. Yeah. This is I said, yeah, it's fixed.

SPEAKER_00

Um, yeah, like I said, so uh let me read my notes here. Canada opened the city of Toronto for the first ever World Cup match on Catanian soil. It was special. A lot of celebrities there. It was really cool to see. Um Canada got its first ever point, like you mentioned, in a World Cup game. Uh they tied Bosnia 1-1 yesterday. Uh the other two host nations already played, just like you mentioned, USA beat Paraguay uh 4-1, and Mexico beat South Africa 2-0. Okay. So all the host nations um got a point. Okay, the fix is all in. Okay, now the root soccer begins. Uh, but check this out. We're gonna stick with World Cup, but more political news with the World Cup. Ghana's government has issued a formal note of protest to Ottawa after their star midfielder, Thomas Parde, was denied a Canadian visa due to pending legal proceedings in Britain. Okay. He is currently restricted uh but to play Ghana's matches that are hosted on US soil.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but okay, I but if there's issues no on US soil, but not Canadian.

SPEAKER_00

He is restricted from playing on US soil.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. Okay, I'm sorry. I'm I'm I'm missing something here. Okay, his issue is in England.

SPEAKER_00

Yes. Okay. He's got he's got he's he's got two criminal um investigations after whatever. But he hasn't been convicted. He hasn't been convicted. Ooh, I don't know. That's but apparently it is it is in the immigration act or whatever you call it uh for the states, that if you are coming to seek a work visa, which is what all the soccer players are doing. Well, yeah, they are technically working. Right, right. Um then and you have any legal proceedings, you it's it's it's in fine print. It's not like they're doing this on as a conspiracy. Right. It's right there. Well, then there's nothing they can do. Right. So, but but the only thing I don't understand, uh, because I I got this straight from the straight from the website, uh, he was denied a Canadian visa, right? But then I read, I gotta I I gotta double check this, but then I also read that he could play in Canada, but he can't play in the States. Because Ghana, because one of Ghana's games are in Toronto, the nether second game, and apparently he's allowed to play in that. So maybe he missed this typo, maybe it was uh denied an American visa. I don't know, we'll see. But anyways, but yeah, there's there's there's been a lot of issues. That's interesting. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Um now Iran. Alright. Okay. Obviously, with what's going on, so US did not want them to come at all. Okay. Trump basically said, you know what? I don't want you. So there, uh because obviously America's a big country, but because there's so many different host cities, right? So every country was given a base, a base city or base camp. Right. A lot of a lot of countries took took over university campuses. Um some some some people took over like hotels that had soccer for accommodations, and that's basically where they're gonna be set up. So even if you play in, so for example, I believe Argentina, they're set up in Virginia. All right. Their first game's in Kansas City. So they're training, training, training. They'll fly to Virginia, they'll fly to Kansas City and they'll fly back to Virginia that same day. That's where they're staying. Like an hour and a half flight. That's the thing. There's nothing more than two, I think it's nothing more than two hours or something. But some countries like Ghana, who are stationed in the states, they have their second and third game in Canada. So they're coming, playing, and then flying right back out after the game, back to the states. Gotcha. Okay. So Trump basically said, no, I don't want Iran here. So they were supposed to be in uh where is it? In Tucson, Arizona. Okay. But because of US visa issues, especially with a lot of the Iranians, yeah, um, they FIFA allow them. So they are now they are now staying in Tijuana in Mexico. Okay. And basically they're Mexico, they play, they'll fly in, they'll play the game, fly out, back and forth.

SPEAKER_01

See, I would I would really caution Trump on that. Because um, yeah, we have a we as a as you know, as the states, we have a problem with the Khomeinis, with the not the Persian people, not the Iranian people. Right. Now, back back in 1980, this total boob said to the Russians, uh, we're not gonna go to the Olympics.

SPEAKER_00

That's right, remember that.

SPEAKER_01

People are freaking out saying, hey, it's sports, leave it alone. Leave it alone. And me personally, uh, I I am totally against the Iranian government, 100%. Right. Okay but the the Iranian soccer team, no, leave them alone, buddy. Well, I I would leave it alone.

SPEAKER_00

It's the same issue that the double IHF, the International Hockey Federation, is having. Ever since the whole Ukraine and Russia quote I'm gonna put in quotations, war uh started, Russia was banned from all hockey events. They weren't in the Olympics, they weren't in the and they're saying it's because of political reasons. And that's and that's the biggest crock of it's stupid. Because even even like the even like Sydney Crosby and you know Austin Matthews, Captain for America, They're all saying, no, we need Russia.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Right? Um, which reminds me, so in Russia, who would have been in this World Cup, they were they're banned. They can't play. See, that I I I think that's totally wrong. So you know you know what so you know what Putin's doing, what he wants to do? What's that? He basically wants to say, give it the big thumb middle finger to FIFA. Okay. Right? Because they're not a corrupt organization at all.

SPEAKER_01

FIFA. I mean, they they issue $3 bills.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. They honestly might be the most corrupt organization in the world. FIFA? Yeah. I believe that. So what he wants to do, and he actually came out and they're trying to figure out logistics. During the World Cup, sorry, I shouldn't say jury, but he said what he wants to do is he wants to host his own World Cup in Russia. Okay. For all the teams that didn't qualify. Yeah, that would be okay. Right. So you would have like, you know. Italy. Yo, that's funny. That was the first team that people highlighted. Italy. Would Italy go and play? You know? But no, that's what he wants. He basically, and it's just it's gonna lead to, you know, is Russia ever, even if they're allowed back, are they even gonna want to be back? Well, that's it. If you can't, if you can't, you know, yeah. It's not like they're a nation like I'm trying to think of like Haiti. Okay. Right? Who this is huge for them financially and you know, and all that stuff. This is huge. Right. Russia, they don't need it, they don't care.

SPEAKER_01

Well, no, but you get the players that that dedicated their lives to be, you see, and that's why. Yeah, but you know what though?

SPEAKER_00

I agree with that, but just thinking as a as a typical Ruski. Okay. Loyalty to your country, loyalty to Russia, the motherland, is probably worth more than any dream you had. That's the way they're wired. That's the yeah. That's the that's the way that's the way Russians are wired. It's just it's just the reality of it. And I kind of respect them for it, to be honest with you. Yeah, but yeah, no, it's crazy. Uh, and talking about Trump, all right, Donald Trump became the first American president to skip his nation's opening World Cup match. Oh. He did not show up really to the game in LA last night. Why wouldn't he? I don't know. But here's the thing the news is making such a big deal out of it. Mark Carney did not attend the match yesterday, and the Mexican president, um Claudia Scheinbaum. Okay, uh did not attend the first match in Mexico either. Oh, geez. So that just shows you how they're like, oh, Trump's bad. He didn't show up, he didn't show up. Well, you didn't mention the other two guys. That's right. Right?

SPEAKER_01

So is it 94% bad press? Right. So he means he he he cannot do anything right.

SPEAKER_00

Right, 100%. Uh cybersecurity experts have issued a high alert, and we're still staying on the World Cup here. Uh cybersecurity experts have issued a high alert consumer warning. Scammers are currently targeting fans with fake merchandise and ticket resale sites as local fan festivals kick off across Vancouver and Toronto. Oh boy, here it goes. It happens all the time. Right. It's no, you just you just you have to be smart. Right? Like, there's a story that came out with Toronto yesterday. These quote unquote scalpers, which they they're they're real scalpers. I mean, we both a lot of times we buy our tickets off scalpers. They're selling tickets for like less than half the price of base value. Wow, so that that's like how stupid you have to be not to realize, oh no, I'm getting a good deal. No, you're stupid. You're getting scammed. You're getting scammed, yeah. You know, and even the even like the fake merchandise and all that stuff. Like, come on. A half-price ticket to a World Cup game because I like you.

SPEAKER_01

I can't.

SPEAKER_00

The first ever Canadian World Cup game in history. And I can get 50% off. Right. Sign me up. Exactly. So, I mean, to me, it's just people just you just need to be smart. Uh, I did want to bring this up. This is the second last thing we're talking about for the World Cup. Very interesting news. Okay. Uh just pull it up here. I didn't have it on my notes. Okay. We love our Somalians here on this podcast. Oh, I just could care less, but okay. So, Somalian soccer referee. I don't know if you ever heard about this? No, I have no idea what you're doing. Somalian soccer referee Omar Abdul Kadir Artan was officially dropped from a 2026 FIFA World Cup officials list. He's a referee. Okay, yeah. After being denied entry into the United States. Okay. Uh a United States official confirmed that Artan was refused entry due to the alleged association with the suspected members of a terrorist organization. Right. Oh boy. Uh upon landing at the Miami International Airport, Artan was detained and interrogated by U.S. Customs and Border Protection for 11 hours. 11 hours? What's there to talk about? Border officials questioned him heavily regarding Somalia politics and the Al-Shabaab militant groups. Right. Okay. Somalia Somalia remains fully restricted under U.S. travel suspicion uh suspension issued by President Donald Trump. While Artan possessed a single entry U.S. visa processed via Kenya, the CPB utilized expediator removal laws to revoke his entry. Andrew Giuliani, executive director of the White House FIFA task force, publicly stated that Artan was blocked for, quote, very good reason.

SPEAKER_01

You see, you have to understand, uh I I get it. I I don't like it, but I get it. This the the Somalian issue that happened in Minnesota is so messed up. Yeah. And it's it's it's real it's really bad.

SPEAKER_00

I uh keep in mind, I I I started to cut you off, as as the general public, we're only getting the tip of the iceberg of of the issues with them. Right. Like there's so much more about that we don't know.

SPEAKER_01

Well, that's why they're they're behaving like they are. Exactly. Um you see, if you no back in '93, there was a war in Somalia. They had uh that's uh the Black Hawk Downs. Yes, yes, Somalia. Good movie. And um and it's it is known. I mean, you know, you can you can write letters and condemn me by saying this if you want, but the but that society is known for piracy. Yes, yes. And I mean, you know, I'm the captain now. Well, yeah, I mean, that's the way it is.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. So so now I think that I think he was a Somalian pirate, that movie, weren't they? I think he was Somalian.

SPEAKER_01

Well, you can tell by yeah that I was gonna say the in-breeding, but uh you just tell, yeah. You can tell. Like listen, you put uh again, I I I'm just a typical white guy, but I I can tell a Somalian from a Nigerian, yes. You can tell. I I I can't I can't if you give me a pen and paper and to describe to you how I I can't. Yeah, you just by yeah, I agree. So um, yeah, I I agree with that. That the the ref, it's just not worth the hassle. No, it's true. Unfortunately.

SPEAKER_00

Um Artan, he was named the 2025 African referee of the year, was scheduled to make history as the first ever Somali referee to officiate at a World Cup finals.

SPEAKER_01

In 2023, that would be great, but in 26, it's a different time.

SPEAKER_00

Uh FIFA released an official statement confirming Artan will miss the tournament. The governing body uh clarified that it cannot overrule host country immigration decisions, aiding that a host government ultimately determines who has admitted into their country. Wow. So this story, this story actually is about two weeks old. It's an old story. Oh, I never heard of it. I just brought it up because we're talking World Cup. Right. Um, when this first happened, Canada came out trying to be the savior. Canada came out and said, okay, change his schedule. We'll let him in, and he can referee all the games in Canada. That's a compromise. Right? Sure. But I guess the last I heard about it, Canada withdrew that. I'm sure maybe I don't know if it was FIFA or if it was Trump. Trump spanked Carney, yeah. So so that that's that's the story with that. No, I want to ask you a question to end off the World Cup segment here. Okay. And if you're not a sports fan, I'm sorry, but unfortunately, it is the biggest thing going on in the world right now. So we will be. We're not gonna get into depth of the actual like games and who's winning or whatever, but uh we will, if there's anything that has to do with politics, we will talk about it. Um I do have a question for you though. Okay, fire away. As somebody, you know, I would consider us a sports family. Sure. You know, every major sport event we watch. This is the question going on around the internet today. Okay? Or or ever since the World Cup started. Obviously, the World Cup is the biggest um I would say event in the world. Sure. Sports wise. Yeah. Okay. Now in America, let me ask you this. What is the biggest event, sports event in America? Sports event. I would I would have to say the Super Bowl. The Super Bowl, 100%. As a matter of fact, they're trying to pass a law where the Monday after the Super Bowl is a holiday. Oh, really? Because every well, you think about it. The Super Bowl's Sunday night. It's always on a Sunday, it's a Sunday night. People get liquored up, they have Super Bowl parties. A lot of offices are even they they tell people don't come in until noon. Yeah, don't even go. You know, it's just it's just it's just a way of life. The Super Bowl. Hangover. Even in Canada, everyone knows Super Bowl parties. It's just it's like a holiday. Oh, how many we have had? Yeah. Yeah, exactly. Okay. And from all the Super Bowl parties we've ever had that I've ever been to, my team's never been in it. Yeah. Right? So, at least when I was alive.

SPEAKER_01

No, no. No, in the 90s, uh, Buffalo was in many times. They just couldn't. Well, three times in a row. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

They lost all three times. Jim Kelly. Jim Kelly, that's right. So let me ask you this. All right. As a sports guy. Okay. Put it aside the fact that Canada's hosting. Okay. Alright. What would be, we've been to I've been to basketball games, been to hockey games, been to baseball games. What would be more valuable to you? What would be more of a bucket list check mark? Attending a World Cup match? Okay. Or a Super Bowl match. Or a Super Bowl game. And I'm not talking regardless of the teams. Regardless of the teams. And I'm not saying World Cup final. I'm talking about just a World Cup match in general.

SPEAKER_01

Versus the Super Bowl. As a sports guy, raising my sons to be sportsmen. Oh, that that is that is a dang good question. That is very good. But if uh if pressed, I would have to say Super Bowl.

SPEAKER_00

Really? I'm opposite. You're opposite. I'm opposite. Yeah. I was I was wondering what you're you were gonna say. I'm opposite. I would say World Cup. To me, it's just the international stage. Gotcha. Okay. Right? Like I had the ability to go to the game yesterday. Right. And I just didn't I don't know. I just I think like like I told like I told you, if it was Argentina or Paraguay, or heck, if they qualified, even Ukraine. Right. Then I would go.

SPEAKER_01

Right. Yeah, okay.

SPEAKER_00

Right. But I mean, yes, you can say yes, it's Canada, this and that's history. It's not like you're Canadian. Right. But I uh I I don't know. To me, it's just there is now mind you, I think it would be a lot different if it was like, hey, we're going to Spain to catch a World Cup game. Right. Right. Or we're going to South Africa to catch a World Cup game. You know? But to me, I think it's the fact that it's like, okay, even yesterday, I was watching the game and they were showing like the backdrop of the C and Tower and all that. It's like I was just there, I was just downtown with you four days ago. Yeah, driving. Driving pub driving by it. To me, it's not a it's not a big deal. Now, mind you, apparently the atmosphere was nuts. It was crazy. Now, in terms of the Super Bowl, I I don't I to me just no comparison. Like, would it be cool to say you've been to a Super Bowl game? Yeah, sure. It's the biggest stage in America. Yeah. Right? But to me, I think it's just the it's the international flavor. Sure. About well, yeah. So yeah, my answer is World Cup. I would, I would off my bucket list.

SPEAKER_01

Given a choice, all expenses paid, everything. I think I would probably do Super Bowl.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Go for more for the halftime show. Well, that's it for the World Cup. Um, so for those of you who are are following, US won their first game, Canada tied their first game, a lot of matches. That's the cool thing about it being in North America this year, right? Is that every day starting sometimes at noon, but mostly starting at three o'clock, from three basically all the way till midnight, there will be soccer on TV for the next month. So that's good. Yeah, so that's really cool. Um is Cameroon in this year.

SPEAKER_01

Is Cameroon in this year? I want to say no. Okay. Because I that's that's one African team I always followed, even as a kid.

SPEAKER_00

I know the big upset this year was they were African powerhouse. I don't think Nigeria made it. Oh, okay. Yeah, Nigeria is pretty good. So let's just go. I'll just quickly just run over run over the team. So you have Mexico, South Africa, Korea, Czechia, Czech Republic. But they're like I told you, they're called Czechia now. Uh, you have Canada, Lebosnia, United States, Paraguay, Qatar, Switzerland, Brazil, Morocco. Okay. Um, I believe it's their first time ever. Uh Haiti. Oh, Haiti's in. Okay. Yeah, they're playing Scotland tonight, and I believe they're in Boston.

SPEAKER_01

Wait, Scotland has its own uh school.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, okay. Yeah. Uh then we have so like for example, today's game starts at three. Qatar in Switzerland, the Brazil-Morocco game will be good, Haiti and Scotland. Then you have Australia, Turkey, Germany, Curaçao. Okay, which is very interesting. It's interesting that Curaçao has a team and the Netherlands have a team. Uh, Netherlands, Japan, um, Ivory Coast, Ecuador, Spain, Cabo Verde. Sure. Belgium, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Uruguay, um, Iran, New Zealand, France, Senegal. Senegal, okay, Iraq, Norway, Argentina, Algeria, Austria, Jordan, Portugal, okay, the Dominic uh, not Dominican Republic, but Congo. Congo, Congo's got a team, okay. Yep. England, Croatia. England, yes. That's a good first match. England and Croatia. That'll be good. Um, Ghana uh and Panama. Also, Cameroon's not in. Wow, okay. Cameroon's not in. And for those of you who care, Canada's next game is next Thursday at 6 o'clock against Qatar. Qatar. That's in Vancouver. That the next two Canada games are in uh Vancouver. Yeah. Toronto is hosted a couple more, just not just not Canada. Yeah, okay. All right, we got some actual non-sports news to get to. Don't know if you heard this, but officially as of yesterday, I'm sure you saw this around social media or your YouTube shorts. Elon Musk is officially the world's first ever trillionaire. No kidding. Yep. Uh, he took his company SpaceX public on Friday, and by day's end, the market value went up by more than $2 trillion. Oh my goodness. When Wall Street closed on Friday, the stock rose just under 20% to $161 from $161 from the original $135. So congratulations to uh Mr. Free Speech himself, Elon Musk. So, yeah, he took SpaceX public and he is now officially the world's first trillionaire. Look at that. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Well, do you know who the uh America's first billionaire was?

SPEAKER_00

I think this is a trick question. I don't want to say is Gates. No, no, no. Back in the day. In the 30s. Oh, really? In the 30s, yeah. Billion dollars in the 30s? That's like a trillion dollars today.

SPEAKER_01

He was a very rich man. Should I know this? I'll be sure it's it's a name that everybody knows. If I if I give you his first two initials, then you'll know. You'll know his last name. J D.

SPEAKER_00

No, no, no. J D. What what field was he in? Oil. No, no, no clue. I'm gonna I'm I shouldn't know this.

SPEAKER_01

Well they they asked him, they said, sir, he died in 1937, but I think a couple of years before he was um uh he was being interviewed, I think it was a Time magazine or something, and uh and and they said uh like sir, you're making like this is 19, let's say 1935, and they said you're making a million dollars profit a day. When is enough enough? You know what his answer was? Just a little more. Just a little more.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, I think I got it.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, go.

SPEAKER_00

Rockefeller, Rockefeller, yeah. JD Rockefeller Rockefeller, okay. Yeah, wow the first billionaire. Oh, that's cool. Yeah, uh part part of the announcement that he is now the world's first b trillionaire. So I just wrote down here's a couple things that he is promising to do moving forward. Okay. One million person colony on Mars. Okay. We know he's been talking about that for a while now. Uh he claims he will save humanity by establishing other outposts in space. So I guess out of the Mars, I guess, you know. Not in his lifetime, but he'll start it. Who knows, maybe? Yeah. Um he wants to launch data centers the size of football fields into orbit. Data centers? That's all that's all it said, data centers. Okay. Size of football fields into orbit. Okay. And he also wants to outdo rivals uh anthropic and open AI in the race to make money from artificial intelligence. Wow. Wow.

SPEAKER_01

Hey. Yeah. He's the guy, the guy is brilliant. I'll give him that. You know.

SPEAKER_00

I I find it funny how we talked about Doge two episodes ago, but you see these people who drive Teslas, and because remember, Teslas, they were getting vandalized all over mostly the states. They were getting vandalized, and people were throwing bricks and stones at people who drove Teslas. So people bought bumper stickers and says, I bought this Tesla before Elon went crazy. Oh, jeez. And that's like a sign that okay, we don't touch this one. Leave me alone. Yeah. So yeah, but congratulations to Elon, first ever trillionaire. And of course, who's that one Pocahontas chick? Uh Warren. Elizabeth Warren. Yeah. She went off on a huge tangent on X saying how, oh, like, he needs to be taxed to tax the rich and you know, all the money that he has, and no one deserves to have that much money, and this and that. So there's this feature on X where you can respond to somebody, but through AI, ask a question to kind of rebuttal what someone said. Okay. Someone just said to Elizabeth Warren's post, um, can you please tell us what Elizabeth Warren's uh net worth is? Right. And apparently it's like eight million dollars or something. She's not so it's like who are you to say that no one deserves that much money? Well, you're making eight million dollars a year. You know what I mean? Wow, that's crazy. So um last I believe it was last episode, we or the one before we talked about the Nick Shirley Act. Yes, I think I think it was last one. And for those of you who didn't listen, that's the guy who exposed the Minnesota uh uh daycare uh what is it, leaning leaning centers, and also the fraud happening in California. So since we last spoke, okay, nothing has happened. All right. All right, so bill uh 2624, nicknamed Stop Nick Shirley Act, uh passed, like we said, on May 26th by an astounding vote of fifty seven to nineteen. That's California. This is in California. Uh, and we are still waiting for this bill to be considered by the California State Senate.

unknown

Well, this

SPEAKER_01

They're California's a lost cause, so they'll they'll probably pass it. They'll probably pass communism there.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Sharia pass Sri Law there, right? Like we're talking about. Excuse me. Um, we have a bit of an update from uh the Henry Nowak. Oh yeah. The guy who was murdered by the Sikh. Uh so Vikram Digwa, he was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum of 21 years. Okay. Uh now this is the interesting part. So Digwa's mother, in that time since we spoke, uh, his mother, uh Kiran Cower, was found guilty of assisting an offender after hiding the murder weapon alongside 20 other illegal weapons at their family home.

SPEAKER_01

That I heard about.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Yeah, but I did did she get any jail time? All I could find out is she was found guilty. So I'm sure that's still, they're still probably still going through that. Um, out of the four officers, I was trying to find something about the officers being charged. I there's nothing. Nothing. Okay. I thought they were, but okay. But out of the four officers, one of them has officially resigned, but the incident is facing a mandatory pro by the IOPC, which is the independent office uh for police conduct. Right. So, and this is also, but this is the frustrating part. We talked about this. If this wasn't so public, do you think you would actually be going to the IOPC? No, of course not. Of course not. No. Um, the Sikh community is still at it. Uh, they've officially come out with an official statement now, okay, condemning the murder and the murder weapon, clarifying that it is not a traditional religious kirpon. Okay. Uh and the Sikhs community fear is that the that this crime will unfairly demonize their community. Wow. Right. Which I I I understand why they're saying that, but I think that the steps that they took was very smart.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

And I would be the first one to defend the Sikh community in all this. Sure. You know? Right. Um going back to the US, and I want to get your opinion on this. So at first they wanted to make this law in the state of California. Okay. Okay. And whenever you say state of California, right away it's you know it's gonna be something crazy. Radical. Yeah. Right. I'm just gonna pull it up here. Give me a sec. Um I did have it.

SPEAKER_01

I thought I had well California is now, you see what's happening in the LA elections, and they're really uh the the fraud is blatant. And uh and they're telling us, oh no, though these these elections are secure. But the law of averages, they're breaking every every known uh you know, even visually. The third place candidate is getting all the mail-in ballots. I mean statistically impossible. So so the other the the top two get nothing, and the third place gets all of them? Right. Like uh you know, my lying four eyes. It's it it's ridiculous. And and people are and people I I I hopefully they're not falling for it. Right.

SPEAKER_00

But the the LA elections are a joke. Actually, remind me about that. I'm gonna bring that up in a sec. But before we get there, um I I have to just read this word from word because this is just so radical. I'm trying, I'm trying to give a comparison of something we've talked about to compare how stupid this is. Oh all right, here we go. You ready for this? Alright. All right. So you're sitting, so you're if you pass out from me saying this, then you'll be fine. Los Angeles completely removed the last of its historic, controversial no U-turn signs from a Silver Lake neighborhood. Okay. The removal marks the end of a multi-decade effort to erase physical remnants of anti-LGBTQ plus policing from the city's streets. What? The signs, which read no cruising, no u-turns, midnight to six a.m., were originally erected by the city in 1997 alongside Griffith Park Boulevard and Highprint Avenue. They're saying that during the 1990s, before uh dating apps existed, gay men used printed guidebooks to find community and meetups in Silver Lake, which hosted a thriving queer nightlife scene. Okay. Um while the explicit no-cruising signs were successfully petitioned down by local activists in 2011, the matching no U-turn traffic signs quietly remained active for another 13 years. Following a push by City Council, uh City Council members Nitya Rahman and Hugo Soto Martinez, the final batch of the signs were permanently retired and taken down as they were considered anti-gay traffic signs. No, for the love of God, you gotta be kidding me.

SPEAKER_01

So so the gay guys don't go cruising.

SPEAKER_00

They're gonna cruise anyway. So basically, it's gone to a point where U-turn signs are anti-gay. Yeah, so that's just that's just stupid. That's detective. And there's it's funny because there's like photos and they had like parades, they were like, they were like taking the signs down, and they were celebrating, they were cheering.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, now you're gonna see the statistic. Uh how many accidents now, because people are gonna be U-turning and this and that, and and it's it's gonna be it's gonna be a cluster. The second word I can't use, but you you know, a cluster you know, uh that that's just scary.

SPEAKER_00

Alright, well, you mentioned you mentioned the um the LA election fraud. Okay, yeah. Okay. Um Spencer Pratt. Yep. I know Spencer Pratt from a reality show back in the day called The Hills. Yeah, I don't remember that. Right? Okay. So for those of you who don't know Spencer Pratt, he was a I guess the equivalent back in the early 2000s to compare to today, he'd be kind of considered like an influencer type. Okay. Yeah, reality TV show, you know, stuff like that. He seems pretty he seems like a solid dude. So he who has lived in LA's whole life, hates what he's seen in LA, and says, I want to do something about it. So he's gonna he's running for what exactly again? Mayor. The mayor of LA. He has gotten a lot of support. A lot of support.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, yeah. Well, he he is uh he's sick and tired of it, and he's calling out the people that have been in there for years that have done nothing, and it's gotten worse. They claim, oh, we have uh we don't have homeless. Yeah, you do, and then the other uh uh you know they they're giving drugs to people instead of helping them. So so if you have an alcoholic, you try you they have AA meetings, they have all these things to get people off. They're giving them clean needles, they're giving them drugs. So how how is that solving the problem? People are defecating, running around naked in front of kids near schools, like guys, give your head a shake. And and uh Spencer's looking at this, going, not in not on my watch, no, right.

SPEAKER_00

So I guess I guess in LA you can have like up to well, whatever amount of people run for mayor, yeah, but they have the initial vote. It's a preliminary, the preliminary, and it's the top two, the top, yeah, right? So let's just put it this way um the U.S. attorney's office is officially launching an investigation.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, they have to.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, so Spencer Pratt, late into the last night, the election night, right? He was second place. Right. All right, then all of a sudden, just like it happened with uh the Joe Biden election, in the middle of the night, 15,000 ballots came in. But for who? Well, that's gonna say 15,000 ballots came in. Not one was for Spencer Pratt. No, any for Karen Batman. They're saying, they're saying, well, so he he ended up uh he ended up dropping to third place because of it. Right. Right? Now, it's no secret, he was a big mega guy, big Republican, supporter of Trump. He came out, Trump even endorsed him, right? Like he he was he was a big time Republican that wanted to get in there and turn the city around. Yeah, well, they're not gonna let that happen. There were videos, and you can you can go online if you think I'm lying, you can go online and take a look. There are videos of people going into the into the um uh uh vote vote voting areas wearing mega hats and they would refuse them. Right. Yeah, I heard that I heard. They were saying, no, we're not gonna take your vote. You legally have to, nope. And there's and what are you gonna do? Not a dang thing you can do. So they're calling it out. So, and based off of the preliminaries, based off of the popular vote, based off of popularity in general, I forgot what the statistic was. It was like the fact that he got zero out of the 15,000 quote unquote votes that came in was like one to the number what the number ended in like 28 zeros. It's a number that's not even a official number. Yeah, I heard that. Right? It's like you have a better chance of winning the lottery three times in your lifetime. Right. Oh no, sorry. You have a better chance of winning the Powerball three times in your lifetime. That's better odds doing that than do than what happened with the election.

SPEAKER_01

But yet there's no corruption. Right. That's that that that's that's ridiculous. And but yet, and if you call it out, uh uh you're you're the problem. It's like guys, wake up. Yeah. And and that's why uh well you see, and and when I see stories like this, I I have to sit back and really think. And uh uh put it this way. Okay, you know what happened during the Biden years. Yeah, okay, with all these people that came in. Now, even I remember in 2020, the Republicans could have pursued there was enough proof okay, now work with me here. There was enough proof to cancel that election. Right. But Trump was quite he was more quiet than he should have been. Yeah, a lot of Republicans, and and this is where this is this is a totally crazy theory. I could be totally wrong, and you can talk about my mental status. But this is why I see the whole thing like George Carlin says. There are it's uh one big club, you ain't in it. So yeah, Donald Trump is uh representing the Republicans. Uh Joe sleepy Joe was the Democrats. It's all one show, and I'll tell you why. This is what's happening, okay? The Republicans could have called out 2020. It was just as clear fraud as we see in LA. But Trump did nothing. Let's say 15 million people came into the country, okay? Now we have a problem. Canada has a problem, America has a problem. We have too many illegal migrants, right? Okay, so now Trump takes over, the savior, so to speak. Well, how do we fix this problem with a digital currency? I think they saw this coming.

SPEAKER_00

They wanted this to happen. Well, so like you say, Trump plays chess, not checkers. That's right.

SPEAKER_01

So I have a like I don't like listen. Is Trump a good president? Yeah. Do I trust him? No. I don't think he's I don't think he's moral. I don't think he's uh uh they say, well, he's a born-again. No, he's not. Okay, but here Trump wants this digital currency. So why not work with the Democrats? It's it's yeah, and they say, well, the wall is to keep people uh from coming into America. No, no, no. That wall will be completed so people can't get out. Right. Again, this is just the way because I I'm just using uh uh uh you know the scripture that says that you will not be able to buy or sell yeah uh unless you get the mark.

SPEAKER_00

This is where it's starting. It's probably a chip, like a visa chip or something. Yeah, what is it? Is it Visa stand for like 666 or something? Something like that, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So that's why you gotta be very careful. Uh to a lot of these radical uh Republicans that uh uh that worship Trump, be very careful. Yeah. Because I I I just don't buy any of it.

SPEAKER_00

Right. So well, going back to the whole Spencer Pratt thing, so he officially conceded without taking any legal actions. Okay. Trump is the one that's saying, no, no, no, no, no, no. We we need to make this right. Okay. But but Spencer Pratt came out with a video and basically said, I'm gonna conceding. This it's I I think maybe I see both sides where it's like, no, you should fight. There's clear corruption. But then Spencer Pratt's probably saying nothing's gonna change. But then my frustration is maybe you should be the change then. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

You see, I you know well, doesn't he have apparently he's got videos of uh them saying things. Uh uh apparently he's got some pretty uh crazy videos on Karen Bass and the other one.

SPEAKER_00

Or who knows, maybe he's working with Trump and we'll see, we'll see what happens with Spencer Pratt's future, you know? Like Yeah, I I don't I I don't see it ending anytime soon. No, no, definitely not. I just it's you know what this fraud is actually even more obvious than the Joe Biden one, and that one was obvious. So what does that tell you? Yeah, you know, um back to immigration talk, uh Switzerland. Oh okay, because if I were to say who is the old saying is, you know, be neutral. Like if there's a if you have two friends who are arguing, like what side are you on? You know, the old saying is I'm gonna be Switzerland. That's right. I'm gonna be neutral. Yeah. Well, Switzerland's in the news. Okay. Uh they're holding a national referendum to decide whether to officially cap its total population at 10 million people up until 2050. Okay. Alright. Uh so the proposal officially named the sustainability initiative dictates a strict two-phase government response if population thresholds are crossed. Okay. So, one, the 9.5 million trigger. If Switzerland's population hits 9.5 million before 2050, the government must immediately restrict asylum approvals, suspend family reunification permits, and stop granting new residency status to foreign nationals. If the 10 million limit hits before um 2050, the federal govern government would be legally forced to tear up the free movement of persons agreement with the European Union. Wow.

SPEAKER_01

Well, Switzerland, like we we have family in Switzerland. And um, you know, it that is one that is one interesting society. Do you realize that the entire country, if there was a nuclear war, goes under under the mountains? Yeah. They have a whole whole city.

SPEAKER_00

And they also have the whole country is connected by bridges with one click of a button, they can blow up every single bridge and no one gets in. That's right. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. So let me just quickly read this. Uh, this is from the Yes Camp, the supporters, spearheaded by the right-wing Swiss People's Party. Uh, supporters argue that CAP is necessary to curb uncontrolled immigration. They point out that Switzerland's population has surged from 7.3 million in 2022 to roughly 9.1 million in the past four years. Um, stirring local housing markets, straining local housing markets, driving up rent, and congested public transport and infrastructure. Now, the opposition opposed by the Swiss government, mainstream political parties, and trade unions, uh, critics have doubt have dubbed it the chaos initiative. Business leaders warn that a cap will cripple the economy by worsening chronic labor shortages in healthcare, hotels, and export sectors. Demographers also note that Switzerland relies heavily on foreign workers to sustain its rapidly aging population. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, good argument on both ends. That is a good argument. But okay, the now, the these immigrants that are coming in, where are they coming from?

SPEAKER_00

Well, I'm sure, let's be honest, let's say it the way it is. I'm sure Switzerland's seeing what's going on around the world, and they're saying, no, no, no, no, no. And then they're seeing they're seeing a country like Poland. Yeah. You know, and to me, I think this is just a polite way of saying we don't want no more immigrants in our country. Yeah. That's all this is. Yeah. Right? Um, we are right out of time here. Last story, we don't want to talk too much about it, but I do want to touch on it. Here's what the article reads. Okay. Okay. Air Canada, which is the biggest airline in Canada. Mm-hmm. Pilot flew passengers for years with a fake pilot's license. Police say. Okay. So I'm just gonna I'm gonna hold my mic here. I'm just gonna read this article. Okay. A former Air Canada pilot faces criminal charges for flying tens of thousands of passengers for nearly 17 years with a fake pilot's license. Jeffrey Wall was arrested June 1st after investigators say he could he captained over 900 domestic and international flights from 2009 to 2025 without ever obtaining the proper license or completing the mandatory testing. Uh the investigation and the details surrounding it read like a movie script. Peel Regional Police, Deputy Chief uh Mil Milnovich said at a news conference in Ontario that Mr. Wall rose to the position of pilot in command, where for almost 17 years they flew Boeing 767, 777, and 787, so big planes, okay, while earning nearly 3 million King of dollars, which would be more than $2 million U.S. salary. Okay. In this case, Wall was licensed to fly commercial planes for his entire 27 career year with Air Canada, but police say he never possessed an airline transport pilot license for aeroplanes, also known as the ACPLA, which was required when he was promoted to captain in 2029. So this is the quote This is very similar to a doctor that is licensed to practice family medicine, but is doing brain surgery in his office. Successful brain surgery that there's additional requirements and regulations to professionally design to professional designations that exist for a reason.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, but he he wasn't Farmer Bob that just uh parked his tractor and then just jumped in an airplane. He was a pilot. Yes. Okay, so that's why you gotta how they word everything. It's like he illegally flew or something to make it look like he put people in danger.

SPEAKER_00

Well, and they actually in this article they quote it, they're trying to compare him to the movie Catch Me If You Can. No comparison. No, because this guy was a legal pilot for commercial planes. Right. He just didn't have the proper paperwork to fly uh passengers.

SPEAKER_01

There was we had this case uh a few years ago where a guy had a uh a class D for trucks. Okay. But he used to drive but he but he was constantly driving uh class A trucks. Oh still a truck driver. I mean, was he was probably but technically for insurance sake, he doesn't have the required That's right, you know So did he put those trucks in danger that that captain did he put those people in danger? I don't believe so. I I I I f I highly doubt that he because he wasn't licensed to Right.

SPEAKER_00

Well, he was fined by Transport Canada and faces seven criminal charges, including fraud over five thousand dollars, two counts of uttering forged documents, and three counts of possession of a counterfeit mark. Oh boy. He's expected to appear in court on June twenty ninth. Twenty twenty six. That'll be interesting. Yeah, so definitely have to make sure we check in on that. But I mean, yeah, like I said, the comparison for catch me if you can, that's not even close. Not even close. You know? But technically, you know, yes, he was a pilot, but he didn't have the required paperwork.

SPEAKER_01

Like I know how to drive, but I can't pick people up as an Uber because I'm not an Uber.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know if that works, but you know, it would kind of be the equivalent, I'm trying to think of an example, of somebody who gets hired at a church. They're a pastor. Right? They have the title, they're a pastor, they're doing all that. But they go and they're skillful? What? Are they skillful? I mean they know the word, they get the thing. Yeah, yeah, because this guy, this guy's been a whatever, he he's a pastor. Okay. But he's not ordained. And because he's not ordained, you can't legally marry someone. Okay. So that would be the equivalent of getting to someone who's been your pastor for five years to marry you, sign the paperwork. Well, he's not, by law, he doesn't have the proper paperwork to do that. To legalize it. To legal, you know what I mean?

SPEAKER_01

That's a good exact that's that's a pretty good example.

SPEAKER_00

So it would be the same as this. Yes, he was a pilot to fly commercial, you know, freight and whatever, but he didn't have the proper paper. The thing that hurts his case though, is that it's not like he's like, oh, I didn't know. He actually forged the documents to say, so that's where it's like, okay, I understand you're you're pre- and he's probably one of the best pilots of Air Canada has. Well, usually that's the way. Right. But the fact that he forged it, yeah, that's where I think he's in the wrong. What do you think he's gonna get some time? I think so.

SPEAKER_01

You really? I do. I think he's gonna get a slap on the wrist. I don't. I don't.

SPEAKER_00

If there was a Because what they're saying is technically any money he made from the time he was promoted to captain to now, that's all fraud. It's fraudulent, yeah. That's over two, that's over three million dollars.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that yeah, okay. Uh as crazy as it sounds. But but you can go you can go to a store and steal everything, and the guy can't do a dang thing to you. It's a security guard. Security card.

SPEAKER_00

So who are they facing? Their first game is I should know this. Uh Tuesday, they are play Algeria. Algeria, okay. Algeria is kind of good. It should be interesting. The two favorites right now to win the whole thing, based off Benning odds, okay, are um Spain and France. Spain and France, really. They're the top two, and then Argentina is third, and England is fourth. And Portugal's not even not even on this list. I think they're like eighth or ninth.

SPEAKER_01

Really?

SPEAKER_00

Oh, I actually think, if I'm not mistaken, US has better odds of winning it than Portugal. Really? Oh, okay. Because Portugal's always good. So all right. Well, that's a wrap.
