SPEAKER_00

Dopp That was intriguing.

SPEAKER_03

Hey, I think we just had our intro. I think we just found our fucking intro. Okay, we're hot.

SPEAKER_09

We're is that what's called Scating?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, Scat. Scat. Scat. Made famous by the great Cab Callaway.

SPEAKER_06

Who you do not know.

SPEAKER_09

No, but why do you know that? You little encyclopedia brain.

SPEAKER_03

Well, here's the here's the thing. Have you ever heard the song Minnie the Moocher?

SPEAKER_09

Sing it for me.

SPEAKER_03

Folks, here's the story about Minnie the Mooch.

SPEAKER_04

She was a low-down hooch.

SPEAKER_08

This sounds gross. Oh, it's so good. Is he talking about like is he talking about what I think he's talking about? Moochie Munchin Munchie Moochie.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, so apparently Kelsey is horny today. That's like the third or fourth reference already. So um yeah, maybe. I think he might be. Okay. Have you ever seen the movie The Blues Brothers? Yeah. Cab Callaway is he sings before they take the stage at the very end of the movie.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

And he is a very famous scat singer, blues singer, jazz singer.

SPEAKER_02

Nice.

SPEAKER_03

Well too shabby. Not too shabby at all.

SPEAKER_09

Welcome, welcome, welcome in, friends, to our Hello children. Random rant.

SPEAKER_03

Hello, children. We are back again for another fun-filled episode of Things. Pause for the cause.

SPEAKER_09

I'm Kelsey.

SPEAKER_03

I'm Mikey D.

SPEAKER_09

And that makes two of us. For real! I think we're starting to figure this out.

SPEAKER_03

We are. I can't tell you what we're drinking right now until they sponsor us. However, I can tell you that the blood orange is a very good flavor.

SPEAKER_09

We've already talked about it before. Bervazzi, not the sponsor. Sponsor us, not a sponsor. Yeah, sponsor us.

SPEAKER_01

Send us free bravazi. We will drink that shit.

SPEAKER_09

This is delicious. Hard Italian soda, gluten-free. Enjoy. Oh Mike is chugging.

SPEAKER_05

I was a little bit thirsty.

SPEAKER_09

Yeah, I can tell. So, Mike, how are things?

SPEAKER_03

Things are great. Things are chugging right along, as they say. I am looking to get a little bit more work on Nashville 911. Cool. They had relocated production to Knoxville, and they're coming back to Nashville, so I am looking to get a call there. Otherwise, things are just pretty damn good, I have to admit.

SPEAKER_09

I saw you sent me that thing about the girl who died. That's sad.

SPEAKER_03

That was a little bit sad. I mean, she did have a pre-existing health condition. For those of you who don't know, there was an actress on Nashville 911. She's 23 years old. I think we may have talked about this last week a little bit too. But she did have a pre-existing medical condition, and unfortunately, she passed away. And it's it's it's just one of those really sad things where here's somebody that's up and coming, they're getting this success, and in the blink of an eye, it's just over. So a reminder to all of us cherish every day because you just don't know when you're not going to be here or when somebody else that you love or care about is not going to be here.

SPEAKER_09

Tell those people you love, you love them.

SPEAKER_03

Every day. Much as you can. Hugs, hugs, hugs.

SPEAKER_07

We love you.

SPEAKER_04

We love you. I love you, Mike. I love you, Kelsey.

SPEAKER_03

How are uh how are things with the gentlemen?

SPEAKER_09

Uh things with the gentlemen are going very well. Still enjoying that.

SPEAKER_03

Um you say they're going very well. Um you would say they're going swimmingly?

SPEAKER_09

Why do you say it like that?

SPEAKER_03

I'm it's just a phrase. I didn't say flummoxed. I didn't say harkens backwards.

SPEAKER_09

Would you say they are going swimmingly?

SPEAKER_03

Would you say they're going swimmingly?

SPEAKER_09

Sure.

SPEAKER_08

I can't say that like Kelsey, how are they? Oh, they're swimmingly. Thanks. They're going swimming, things are going swimmingly.

SPEAKER_03

I feel like we're gonna have to start giving Kelsey a vocabulary test every week. Or she's gonna have to start giving me one one or the other. So they're going good.

SPEAKER_09

Yeah, yeah. Things are great.

SPEAKER_03

What have we been up to this week? Did we take any trips? No drama. Okay, no drama's good.

SPEAKER_09

I've been in town this week, heading to Costa Rica with your wife next week.

SPEAKER_03

That's true, that's true. Girls' trip. You know, I had a thought about that. And I realized in some circles I might be considered a fucking idiot. Because I had an opportunity, folks, to go to a rainforest with a bunch of girls for a week.

SPEAKER_09

And Mike went, meh. And I said, I want to watch the flyers.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, that's a shot fired. For sure. We're gonna circle back around to that. Now, that being said, it is like a girls' trip. And when I did discuss this with the wifey, she in fact said, Look, you're probably gonna be bored. You know what I mean? It's not it's not in your wheelhouse. And given the fact that we have animals and there were some things going on in town, I opted out. So Kelsey's gonna be going to Costa Rica. I myself, now here's where, okay, we talk about this all the time about manifestation. There is no coincidence, at least I don't believe in coincidence. So by not going to Costa Rica, it freed up time for me from work and all the other things. Turns out, need to go up to New Jersey to see family. And I'll be doing that the week after Kelsey and the wifey get back from Costa Rica to handle some business up in New Jersey. So everything happens exactly the way it's supposed to. This worked out fantastic. So we're just gonna roll with it.

SPEAKER_09

And you're going to a concert, right?

SPEAKER_03

Um, here's the thing. I've got tickets next Friday night at Bridgestone Arena to see Brian Adams and Pat Benatar. These tickets are for sale as we speak.

SPEAKER_09

Why aren't you going?

SPEAKER_03

I don't have anybody to go with.

SPEAKER_09

So who cares?

SPEAKER_03

Okay, so that's one waste to ticket. And you guys get back that night. So, okay, and here comes Kelsey's bodily noises once again.

SPEAKER_04

It wasn't quite the that we had last week. And she did do a subtle side to vent the off-gassing, okay? But Kelsey's hysterical when it comes to this.

SPEAKER_03

So subtle. Not really. So yeah, I don't have anybody to go with, and I don't want to waste that ticket. You guys get back basically in the middle of that concert. So you're gonna have to Uber from the airport or whatever. So I don't know. I'm gonna see if anybody wants to pick them up. If they if somebody wants to buy them, I'll sell them.

SPEAKER_09

Your whole thing when you said you weren't gonna go to Costa Rica is because you wanted to go to this fucking concert. Okay, also here you are, not going to the fucking concert.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, also, these tickets were actually a birthday gift to the wifey.

SPEAKER_09

Yo, you guys?

SPEAKER_03

That's my bad.

SPEAKER_09

We all looked at the calendar together before we booked this trip.

SPEAKER_08

Yep. These dates are good.

SPEAKER_03

I totally fucked that up. That is my bad completely. Uh, I thought it was October, not November. So when the wifey booked the trip, she thought she was free and clear, and then I realized, oh shit, we're not free and clear. So that's my bad. So yeah, the tickets are for sale. I have not gotten, you're gonna here we go, you're gonna love this. I have not gotten flyers tickets yet either for the Thursday night game at Bridgestone Arena against the predators. Now, for those of you who don't know, I love hockey. I love all sports, right? Hockey's my favorite sport of all time. It's the best sport in the world to me. It's it's just it's great. My favorite hockey team is the greatest team in the world. That is the Philadelphia Flyers. Now, they have decided over the last five years to suck for unknown reasons, about as bad as the Rangers have.

SPEAKER_09

Hey man.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, and she's offended.

SPEAKER_09

Two years. We're on like a two-year shit streak.

SPEAKER_03

It's been bad. It has been very bad. Now, the Flyers come into town once a year here. Typically, I buy tickets and go. Typically, the wife comes with me. So this year she's not gonna be in town. I was looking at tickets. I just it's very difficult for me to spend a lot of money to go to an event if my team's not good. I'm not gonna not be a fan. I'm not gonna not support them. I'm gonna continue to watch them. But when we're talking about spending hard-earned money to go to a game and spend more hard-earned money to get food, to get drink, to possibly get transp to and from, because of the that's a big investment. I don't want to go there and watch them suck. I can do that from the comfort of my couch, right? So there is an outside chance that I might get tickets to this game anyway, due to a friend of ours who has some extra tickets. I may get a ticket there. If that's the case, I'll I'll go. Otherwise, I don't know that I'm going to. Now, with that said, the very night I fly into Philadelphia, the Flyers are playing. The Edmonton Oilers.

SPEAKER_09

You have to go to that one.

SPEAKER_03

Now, this is like going to Mecca, right? For me. And the arena is literally 10 minutes from the airport. So I would literally get off the plane, get my rental car, drive across the street to the arena, and I could go to a flyers game. However, same rules apply. Do I want to spend that kind of money? Now, and I just watched them last night, right? Uh, or not last night, excuse me. Tuesday night was frozen frenzy. I don't know if you knew about this.

SPEAKER_09

Don't you make this excuse every time you go home? You're like, I could watch the flyers, but No, no, no, no.

SPEAKER_03

That's negative Ghost Rider. It hasn't lined up the last few times I've gone back up to Jersey. Partly because it's in the offseason. The other thing is when I get to New Jersey or when I get into Philly next week or two weeks from now, the only night they're in town is the night I arrive.

SPEAKER_07

Bro, go YOLO, bitch.

SPEAKER_03

Maybe. Maybe.

SPEAKER_09

I I posted this thing the other day that was like, I'm somewhere between I need to save money and you only live once.

unknown

What?

SPEAKER_03

Say that again?

SPEAKER_09

Like I'm stuck somewhere between I need to save money and you only live once.

SPEAKER_03

I get that. I get that. Not only that, but I mean I I get that. So will I go to the game in Philly? I don't know. I don't know. The the cheapest tickets I found, I think they were $120.

SPEAKER_09

I know they're getting expensive.

SPEAKER_03

And it used to be I could get good seats just about any arena for a hockey game for between $40 and $80.

SPEAKER_09

Well, we paid how much? I think $70 for those flyers tickets a couple years ago. And we were up in the nosebleeds. I mean, Kathy was getting vertigo. We were so high up.

SPEAKER_03

100%. When you are so high in an arena that you need an oxygen mask and possibly a parachute, and you're still paying close to $100 a ticket. Now keep in mind, folks, that doesn't cover parking. That doesn't cover food. That doesn't cover drink. That doesn't cover anything other than you're just getting into the arena. It becomes difficult, right? And Tuesday night was Frozen Frenzy. All 32 teams in the NHL played. And I watched The Flyers played the Penguins. And it was an I gotta be honest, it was an ugly fucking game. It was a fucking Jesus Kelsey.

unknown

Even though my mouth closed.

SPEAKER_04

It just muffled the So sorry, listeners.

SPEAKER_03

To know her is to love her, folks. Seriously. She's so subtle, too. Except this time her eyes got really wide.

SPEAKER_01

She went, did you hear that? Yes, yes, I did. I was trying to gloss over it for you. We'll just throw that in there.

SPEAKER_03

We're good.

SPEAKER_08

Can you hear that?

SPEAKER_03

Jesus. So now that Kelsey's um off-gasing sounds are gonna be a thing, we're just gonna roll with that.

SPEAKER_09

Leave it at leave that in.

SPEAKER_03

We're just gonna leave that there. So yeah, I um I don't know if I'm gonna do that. Not only that, um part of the reason I'm going up there again is to see family. And I want to maximize the time there. So will I go to that game in Philly? Probably not. That money's been better spent elsewhere, honestly. And don't get me wrong, I love my team. I love my team. We've missed the playoffs the last four or five years. We've been told they're rebuilding for two years. Okay. At what point are we gonna start winning games? And then you have a uh an expansion team. I'm gonna match Kelsey's energy here in a second.

SPEAKER_08

You feel it building?

SPEAKER_03

I feel it building. It's gonna it's coming. When it does, I'm just gonna let it, I'm just gonna unquirk it. It's gonna be fine.

SPEAKER_08

Mike versus Kelsey.

SPEAKER_04

Literally, it's like well, hang on, I've got that.

SPEAKER_03

But then you have an expansion team like the Utah Mammoth, terrible name, in my opinion. That just like the Vegas Golden Knights when they came into the league, all of a sudden these are good teams. Right? Kelsey is a huge fan of the New York Rangers.

SPEAKER_08

Let's go.

SPEAKER_03

I'm a huge fan of the Philadelphia Flyers. The Rangers are one of the original six and have not been good in years.

SPEAKER_07

We were playoffs two years ago.

SPEAKER_03

Two years ago. And that was was Lundquist still okay, because I loved him as a goalie for you guys.

SPEAKER_09

I love Lundquist. He's the best.

SPEAKER_03

And he's a great commentator. Yeah, he's so good. He's and I understand why they call him King Henry because like literally he's just got the beard, his tri, he's like, he's all dappered up, and he's like, let me tell you what we were going to do today.

SPEAKER_09

What the fu my name is Enico Mintoy.

SPEAKER_03

You murdered my father.

SPEAKER_09

Prepared to die.

SPEAKER_03

So, I mean, being fans of longtime teams in the NHL, we want our teams to win. I want to support my team. You can't charge me $175 a ticket, which is what I was looking for and looking at in Philly. It's $175 for one ticket. And then I'm thinking, I'm gonna go there by myself. Now I'll be a Mecca. Uh you know what I mean? I'll be in the Orange and Black Sea.

SPEAKER_09

But you'd be pissed off.

SPEAKER_03

But then Connor McDavid and Crew are gonna come in, and that's a great team. Let's make no mistake about that. Edmonton Oilers are a great team. They can't win the big games yet, right? They've been disappointed in the playoffs the past three years. Probably should have had a Stanley Cup by now, but they haven't. But they're coming into Philly. We have a at best, and I'm being kind here.

SPEAKER_09

That was not me. Kelsey! Kelsey, what is that?

SPEAKER_04

Did you guys hear that?

SPEAKER_09

They're gonna be able to tell the difference.

SPEAKER_04

I don't know that they could.

SPEAKER_09

That was pretty good. They're gonna be like, that's a mic. That's definitely a mic.

SPEAKER_03

But I mean, they're gonna come in, and the Flyers are a mediocre team right now, at best. Alright? We've won some games, but we have just not gelled as a team. We've got some great prospects. We've got a lot of potential.

SPEAKER_09

Yeah, we got we got some work to do this season.

SPEAKER_03

Both of our teams do. So whether or not I go is a whole other conundrum.

SPEAKER_09

Well, there's potential because the Rangers also come once a year to Nashville.

SPEAKER_03

It's fair.

SPEAKER_09

To go to that game. In box seats.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. And I'm wearing a flyers jersey.

SPEAKER_09

Just a fair warning to the gentleman what's he what he's gonna be exposed to.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, yeah, the gentleman doesn't know. That's right.

SPEAKER_09

Watching me watch a Rangers game.

SPEAKER_03

By the way, for those of you who did not catch the last episode, the gentleman is Kelsey's new We're dating. They're dating. So yeah, he's he's he's learning. Yeah. And and I I would love to see him in a hockey game with you. Because because to give you an example, two years ago, we went to see the Flyers play the Predators here at Bridgestone Arena. The day of the game, I had to have emergency dental surgery. I refused to give up the tickets. So we go to the game. My face is swollen. I am heavily medicated. I cannot yell because I have stitches all in my mouth from the dental mayhem. As we're sitting there watching the game, somebody behind us goes, suck. Kelsey leans over to me and goes, I got you, Mike.

SPEAKER_04

Fuck you, shut the fuck up. Your mom sucked. Your mom sucked.

SPEAKER_03

This, my friends, is what we call loyalty. This is what we call ride or die. Okay? Love her for that. Even as a Rangers fan, she stepped up.

SPEAKER_09

Meanwhile, we're at the house watching the Rangers play the Flyers and the Rangers score. What was it, like two, three times within the first minute? And I'm just like, suck it! You like that?

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, how's that taste?

SPEAKER_03

She's literally dry humping the TV. Literally dry humping. And then she's turning around and she's hitting me with the suck it, you know. I'm just going, all right. And I got no defense because they're kicking the shit out of us. So this is yet just another reason why I love Kelsey the way I do. And the gentleman has, I guess, access to tickets. And they may be going to see a Rangers game. So he's gonna learn a little bit, a little bit about Kelsey.

SPEAKER_09

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

How goes the dancing?

SPEAKER_09

Dancing's good. Um, I've bought a bunch of new dance shoes because I'm trying a bunch of different things.

SPEAKER_03

Um is that why Amazon is on a first name basis with you?

SPEAKER_09

I'm so sorry. It's out of control. Like it's Halloween folks, so we got a lot of costumes coming in. There's a lot of parties to go to. There's been a lot of Amazon deliveries at the house.

SPEAKER_03

My wife and I are a little like, oh, Amazon's here. Well, it ain't for us. And that's about 90% of the time right now.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, it should, it should be, it should be done now. It should be.

SPEAKER_05

We'll see.

SPEAKER_09

So last week, you Mike went into a haunted house that I told him not to go into.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, we should talk about this. We should talk about this. Tomorrow is Halloween. Before we jump into the haunted house, question for you.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah. Mike!

SPEAKER_01

Kelsey.

SPEAKER_08

No, because I said Mike the exact way. There's no way I would have been able to have done that.

SPEAKER_01

She's a ventriloquist, folks. Jesus Christ.

SPEAKER_08

I admit when it's me.

SPEAKER_01

That's true. She does. And now I forgot what I was gonna say. That's terrible.

SPEAKER_09

Halloween's tomorrow.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, thank you. Halloween is tomorrow, which makes today October 30th. Did you ever participate or are you familiar with the tradition that is mostly referred to as mischief night?

SPEAKER_09

Yes.

SPEAKER_03

Or in some very, very tucked away places of the world, tic-tac night.

SPEAKER_09

Yeah, tic-tac no, mischief yes.

SPEAKER_03

Did you participate? Yeah. What would you do?

SPEAKER_09

Um, I would do soap in the fountain in the center of town.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, that's one of my favorites.

SPEAKER_09

Jesus.

SPEAKER_04

That was her for sure. Holy holy shit. We used to put soap in the fountain. The power of Christ. Compels you. Stay down. Stay down, demons. It's not time yet. What the fuck does that mean? It's not time yet. Holy fuck. All right.

SPEAKER_09

And uh toilet paper and trees.

SPEAKER_03

Soap and uh fountains is one of my favorites. Soap and fountains is one of my favorites. Now, when I was a kid, uh we called it mischief night. In where I grew up, it's weird. My town and one town over referred to it as tic tac night.

SPEAKER_09

That's weird. Was that mischievous?

SPEAKER_03

I don't know. I don't know.

SPEAKER_09

I knew you had some bad breath in the Tic Tac? Right.

SPEAKER_03

I don't I never got that. We it was it was mischief night, and then it was all of a sudden it was Tic Tac Night. We would the pranks we would run is soap the windows of cars so you could write messages or whatever.

SPEAKER_09

Um, did you ever do the baloney on cars?

SPEAKER_03

No, because that's fucked up.

SPEAKER_09

I s I saw that happen to someone once.

SPEAKER_03

But we also did fucked up things, right? So soap on the windows, toilet paper in yards, occasionally egging houses. It was a thing. Sorry, folks. I never did It's way too expensive nowadays. We as kids didn't understand the damage that you could actually do with that. People don't realize, like the baloney on cars, that eats the pain of the car.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Right? And it can permanently damage the car. Eggs on houses, same thing. You could permanently damage the facade of the house or the siding of the house. One of the things I never did this flaming bags of dog shit on the front porch.

SPEAKER_09

That's awful.

SPEAKER_03

It's been done.

SPEAKER_09

And I will fight you.

SPEAKER_03

I wouldn't do it. And I have a dog, so I have access to a lot of dog shit. I am would not do that. Okay. That, not cool. When I got older and joined the fire department, turns out it's also referred to as Devil's Night.

SPEAKER_09

Oh, yeah, I know that one.

SPEAKER_03

And in two particular cities when I was growing up, Camden, New Jersey, and Detroit, Michigan, on Devil's Night, they would burn the city down. And I mean that literally. There would be so many structure fires. And I remember it was 91, 92, I think. And we sent our tower ladder. Because I grew up in New Jersey. I was a firefighter in New Jersey for a number of years. And we sent our tower ladder to Camden at mutual aid because there were so many fires that you had, they had to have help. There was no way because you're just going from incident to incident to incident. And they would burn that fucking city down. Damn. Almost every now. For those of you that know, there is a movie called The Crow.

SPEAKER_09

Yes.

SPEAKER_03

That whole premise of burning down the city was based on Devil's Night in Detroit. They never said that the city they were in was Detroit. But you could kind of make that leap. And frankly speaking, The Crow, I love that movie.

SPEAKER_09

Remake?

SPEAKER_03

Not so much. Not so much.

SPEAKER_09

Sorry, Bill Skarsgard.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, he's good in a lot of things. Nosferatu, whoa.

SPEAKER_09

Pennywise.

SPEAKER_03

Pennywise, whoa. The crow, stop it. Okay. Also, though, you're not.

SPEAKER_09

Stay in your lane.

SPEAKER_03

Stay in your lane because Brandon Lee never should have touched it. Never should have messed with it. The unfortunate part there is that Brandon Lee was killed in the filming of the crow.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Because again, another up and coming. This is going to launch him. This is going to be and and now we don't we don't get anything else with him. So that was the question I had for you around mischief night, tic-tac night. As far as the haunted house, I'm not going to go so far as to say it's haunted. Okay? In my neighborhood where I live, there is a landlocked abandoned house that was also a dog kennel.

SPEAKER_09

We've all seen this movie.

SPEAKER_03

Now, you have the main house. Attached to the main house are multiple dog runs with cages on either side, probably about 40 down each lane. When you move through the house and come out the back, there is what can only be described as basically an airplane hangar of a garage.

SPEAKER_09

I'm just imagining Resident Evil in my mind right now.

SPEAKER_03

It's really similar. It's very similar. The house is a two-story brick and wood construction. And I think it was last year the wife and I decided to explore it. We invited Kelsey. Kelsey said, absolutely not. Have fun exploring your murder house. And when we got in there, I have to admit, it's really creepy. When we walked in the front door, which is wide open, by the way, wait till the neighborhood kids grow into teenage years, by the way, because that's going to be a clubhouse for them.

SPEAKER_09

People are going to go missing.

SPEAKER_03

I guarantee you this. So when we walked into this last year, the front door, when you walk into it, is basically like the reception area. And it looked like people were there yesterday. The reception desk is still there. There's still paperwork. There's still dishes in some of the cabinets. There's still furniture upstairs. All the things, right?

SPEAKER_09

Nope. Nope.

SPEAKER_03

So about a week ago, we got word that a little dog got out of a yard in our neighborhood. His name is Biscuit. Little Biscuit. And he'd been sighted running around the neighborhood. The owner was really distraught, was was taking time off work to come and look for the dog. So we're all helping look for the dog. So I says to the wifey, I says, Wifey, maybe I should go check the house because he had been seen over on that side in very close proximity to it. And because it's kind of out of the way, because it's kind of tucked away, maybe he feels safe in there, whatever. Let me go look.

SPEAKER_09

Or maybe someone is calling him in.

SPEAKER_03

Who knows? So the other day, I say to Kelsey, hey, I'm gonna go check this house for this dog. You wanna come with me? We can bring the portable mics and we'll just mic up and go through. And Kelsey said, Fuck no. And did not go.

SPEAKER_09

Even if I had heard biscuit in the building, I would have been like, sorry, biscuit. Fuck biscuit. Fuck biscuit.

SPEAKER_04

Biscuit, you is donezo.

SPEAKER_03

You ain't getting shit. So I head over there, and there's a way, even though the house is landlocked, part of the property's not fenced, and I'm able to get in there pretty easily. So I get in there, pretty much unchanged from the last time I was there, right? Now, even in the middle of the day, it's exceptionally dark in certain places of this, so obviously I have a flashlight. I'm not gonna lie. Something told me to bring a firearm with me this time. But I didn't. Right? Not gonna carry just not gonna do it.

SPEAKER_09

Good news is I found biscuit. Bad news is shot biscuit.

SPEAKER_04

Wouldn't that be awful?

SPEAKER_09

What the fuck? Pop, pop, pop!

SPEAKER_04

Oh shit. Biscuit! Did you find him? No. He's gone. But don't go in the house. Don't go in the house. Poor biscuit.

SPEAKER_03

So I go in. And when you come into this reception area, you move to your left. Directly in front of you, it goes straight back. There's concrete kennels on either side. When you go left down the hall, there's an office, paint peeling. There's the dirtiest bathroom in Tennessee, it is in that area. And then you get to another hallway and you make a right, you go down this hallway. Halfway down the hallway, there's the staircase to go upstairs. And then you move into the kitchen. In the kitchen, part of the ceiling is collapsed. The dog kennels are all off to your left through open doors. Everything is overgrown. Think walking dead, right? So I'm in this house. I must be a fucking lunatic. I'm in this house.

SPEAKER_07

Biscuit! Hey, biscuit! That's as bad as being like, hello? Get out. Who's there?

unknown

Get out.

SPEAKER_07

Let me go upstairs.

SPEAKER_03

So I move through the main house. I don't hear anything. I don't see obviously I don't see biscuit. For the first time, I go out the back door of the house, and now I'm in between the house and this airplane hangar. I mean, that's what it is. It's the big rounded, it's a garage, but you could put a plane in there. So I go over to the door and I try the door and it opens.

unknown

No, don't go in.

SPEAKER_03

So I go in. Don't do it. So I walk in. Now keep in mind it's a very high ceiling, probably about 30 feet, 40 feet high, because it's this big arc roof. On my left, there are like pens. On the right, there are pens. And then down the center, there's all this furniture. It's old mahogany furniture. Think like Adams Family haunted mansion type furniture.

SPEAKER_09

Why?

SPEAKER_03

Don't ask that question a lot anymore because I don't want to know. So now I'm walking and I'm looking. I got my flashlight. Okay. Why is there all clean sawdust in this pen? Like, what is that's weird. Okay, we're just gonna ignore that. I'm gonna keep going. Biscuit! And I'm walking, and I get all the way to the far side of this garage where there's another door.

SPEAKER_09

No.

SPEAKER_03

That won't open. That's when I realize my only way out of this entire property is the way I came in. Which is like it's a long way.

SPEAKER_09

See, this is the part in the horror game when you're like, I'm safe, I made it through, and you go back and something's like, bah.

SPEAKER_03

I literally turn around and look at the door, which now looks like just a little bit slam shut. And I was waiting for either the door to slam shut or like Michael fucking Myers to step into the doorway, and now I'm fucked. Why? Because I didn't bring a gun. Because I don't have a stick, I don't have anything.

SPEAKER_09

Why? Because I went inside. Because I went inside.

SPEAKER_03

And meanwhile, Kelsey's texting me, I fucking told you. So I'm like, this is where I started to get a little unnerved. I'm like, all right, no, I'm a grown-ass man.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, I've seen this movie, but I'm not I'm not that guy. I'm not that guy.

SPEAKER_03

That's when I notice for the first time an extraordinary amount of animal droppings. And I don't mean like scat. I mean like shit made by a large animal. Are you sure it's an animal? Yes.

SPEAKER_04

God damn it, it better be an animal. No, why'd you do that? Don't do that to me.

SPEAKER_03

But I mean, it's it's kind of in specific spots on the top of this furniture. And I start realizing this is probably a den of something.

unknown

Fuck.

SPEAKER_03

The more I look around, the more evidence I see that there's a large animal that might live in here. Okay.

SPEAKER_07

I'm fine. Everything's fine.

SPEAKER_03

I feel like it's time to leave now. So I start to move towards the door.

SPEAKER_09

Great.

SPEAKER_03

That's when I notice the bones.

SPEAKER_02

No!

SPEAKER_03

I don't know how I did not see this on the way in. Not the bones. I don't know how I did not notice it.

SPEAKER_09

Mike.

SPEAKER_03

I think because I was I was looking kind of up and around and not straight down at the ground. There's bones everywhere. Most of them looked animal. Most? I'm not a forensic pathologist. I can't say what the bones are to. There were hip bones, there were rib cages, there. I mean, we can go right now and yeah, that's that's not happening. She just looked at me like, what are you stupid? No. That was me. That was me. So now I'm seeing all the bones. That's when I realized two things. Definitely an animal layer. Definitely where they're bringing their kills back to eat.

SPEAKER_09

Mike's in the kill zone.

SPEAKER_03

So now I'm going, okay. The question becomes, what is it? Based on the size of the droppings.

SPEAKER_09

Oh god.

SPEAKER_03

I'm thinking large coyote or pack. Which, let's be honest, a pack of coyotes corners something in it in that. And I go, get the fuck out of here. They might not get the fuck out of there.

SPEAKER_09

No, they're taking you out.

SPEAKER_03

They might go, hmm. We could eat for like a couple days on this. Well, me, probably a week, but then you know. So now I'm seeing all these bones. And I'm a little bit more unnerved. All right, let me biscuit? Not really looking for biscuit now.

SPEAKER_09

Now I'm starting to biscuit in the bones.

SPEAKER_03

Thought crossed my mind, but because it's recent, I figured we'd see a little bit more fur or whatever. So I come out of the Arct thing, right? The airplane hanger that you won't like me calling an airplane hanger. I move back to the back door of the house, come in the house, taking another look around the kitchen. I start to get incredibly unsettled for no particular reason. There wasn't any sound. There, I didn't see anything, but it was just all of a sudden, it was like my spider sense was tangling, and I'm starting to get incredibly unnerved. Almost like I'm being watched. And I'm thinking, I need to get the fuck out of here. So what did I do? I called Kelsey. I didn't leave.

SPEAKER_09

And we had prompted that he was like, What would you do if I go in this house and something happened? I'm gonna be like, I fucking told you.

SPEAKER_03

Right? So instead of leaving like a rational, smart person, I stop in the middle of the kitchen, whip out my cell phone, and I call Kelsey. And I'm like, hey, she's goes, hey, go in this fucking house. She goes, I told you not to. I said, I don't think biscuits here. Do you want to come back? No, I don't. I really don't. So we hang up, and I start to walk up the hall, and now there's the doorway on my left with the staircase that goes to the second floor. And I step into this doorway and I shine my flashlight up to the second floor. The staircase itself is dark, but there's light upstairs because the windows. And I'm thinking I should maybe check upstairs.

SPEAKER_09

Mike, you are making all you are the person in the horror movie that we're all yelling at.

SPEAKER_04

But I'm not that guy. But I'm not like, why can't we just get in the running car? No, are you crazy?

SPEAKER_03

Remember when I said I was a little bit unnerved? The thought, when I looked up the stairs and I thought, maybe I'll check upstairs to see if Biscuit's up there. Every ounce of my body said, Don't you dare go up the.

SPEAKER_09

I could not even Don't place one foot on that step.

SPEAKER_03

Literally. I could not even bring myself to put a foot on the step to walk up, let alone go up. And at that point I went, okay, I'm pulling the fucking ejection handle. Let me get the fuck out of here. Because I'm also thinking, I'm so deep in this house, I don't think anybody would hear me if I did yell. So there's that too. Okay. So I walk back up the hall. Now keep in mind, I have to go up the hall about 20 feet, make a left, go down another hall that's about 30 feet, make a right, and go about 10 feet to get to the door to get out. When you make that left, that hall is dark. Okay. I walk up, I make the left. I get about five feet down this hall, and I hear the unmistakable sound of feet hitting the ground upstairs. Like literally just that the thump, like somebody put two feet on the ground, and then I hear steps. And then they stop and it goes deathly fucking quiet.

SPEAKER_09

Running.

SPEAKER_03

When I tell you I look like fucking shaggy, leaving the dust cloud behind me, I could not get the fuck out of there fast enough. When I got out, I'm kind of on the apron out front, and I'm looking up at the windows. I'm not gonna say I saw anything.

SPEAKER_09

You don't need to look.

unknown

You don't need to look.

SPEAKER_03

But my brain actually said that it was why are you looking? Why aren't you leaving? Yeah. And I had to get the get the F out of Dodge. Needless to say, I don't think I will be going back over there.

SPEAKER_09

Jesus Christ, Mike.

SPEAKER_03

Ever again. Um, unless it's to burn the house down. And that's a crime, so I wouldn't do that. Just speculate.

SPEAKER_02

It happens.

SPEAKER_09

This is all metaphorical.

SPEAKER_03

All metaphorical or hypothetical. And yeah, I had to get the hell out of there. Now, uh, on a side note, we did locate biscuit two days later, and biscuit is safe and sound with his owner, and everything is all good. I don't give a shit what goes missing. I'm not going into that house again without at least a 10-person party and pitchforks and flaming and torches.

SPEAKER_09

Don't go in the house.

SPEAKER_03

If there's like 10 of us, though, it's fine.

SPEAKER_09

I'm not doing it.

SPEAKER_03

If we're if there's 10 of us and we're armed, it's f well. No, it's fine. It's fine.

SPEAKER_09

It's not fine.

SPEAKER_03

It's not fine. You're right. It's not going in that fucking house.

SPEAKER_09

I don't know how many times I gotta be the person that says this. I'm not fucking. Um getting caught in a life or death situation, like a horror movie, like survival thing, getting stuck in a house, blah, blah, blah, blah. And it was like, where would you end up? Right, right. And I'm a Capricorn. It was like, as a Capricorn, it's like, you wouldn't be there in the first place.

SPEAKER_08

So true though. You wouldn't put yourself in a situation to even end up there, and I'm like, yeah, you're fucking right, I wouldn't.

SPEAKER_03

Which is funny because Kelsey did go to a haunted hotel or a haunted house. Didn't you go with the gentleman?

SPEAKER_09

Oh, yeah, but it was one of those like silly Halloween haunted, haunted houses things. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

See, now I embrace I like haunted houses that sort of thing, but I like the real shit. So like my wife and I, we spent the night on the Queen Mary. Now, I do with that. That's a very haunted boat that's docked in Long Beach, California.

SPEAKER_09

Hella haunted.

SPEAKER_03

And we we spent the night there.

SPEAKER_09

Y'all crazy.

SPEAKER_03

And it was funny because Is it funny? Well, here's the funny part. When my wife and I go on vacation, I'm kind of a night owl. I stay up later than she does. One of the things that I really, really enjoy is I put on some music and I just go wandering around, whether we're at a resort in Mexico, we're on the beach in Tahiti, we're at the Shire in New Zealand, and we've been to all these places, by the way. I like to do that. So we get on the Queen Mary, we get settled into our stateroom, which was really cool, by the way. Like to be on a big boat like that and have a big state room, it was really cool. And I said to the wifey, I said, Hey, I'm gonna throw my headphones on and I'm gonna wander around the boat because I want to do a little ghost hunting. And and she looked at me and she goes, If you think for one second, Second, that you're leaving me alone in this haunted room on this haunted ship.

SPEAKER_04

You're out of your fucking money.

SPEAKER_09

I'm gonna go walk around on this haunted ship with headphones in my ears. It's fine.

SPEAKER_03

It's fine. I actually, it was funny. We were at a uh resort uh in Mexico that we we uh go to, and I was doing that, and I took a wrong turn, went down some steps, and ended up in the labyrinth under the resort.

SPEAKER_09

No.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, yeah, I did. And I was wandering around there for a hot minute until I saw some staff and they were like, What you doing? They said it in Spanish, but yeah, that's that's basically what they what are you doing down here?

SPEAKER_04

That's how they said it in Spanish. That is not how they said it.

SPEAKER_09

That's so terrible. And this will be our last episode because my cut is canceled.

SPEAKER_01

Uh no, it was it in Spanish, and then you're like when my brother told me he was gonna learn French and we get to fucking Paris and he starts speaking English with a French accent.

SPEAKER_04

I'm like, that's not French. What are you doing? Gonna have a croissant. He was like, I love it.

SPEAKER_03

And I'm going, that is not French, dude.

SPEAKER_04

What the fuck?

SPEAKER_03

So yeah. I like to go wander and like that. That's one of the most unnerving experiences I ever had, though, was in that house less than a week ago. It was there was a thousand percent something upstairs in that second floor, and it was something with weight.

SPEAKER_09

Yeah. Um when I was in New Orleans, we did a ghost tour, and it's the Andrew Jackson Hotel, I think.

SPEAKER_03

Sounds right.

SPEAKER_09

It's supposed to be quite haunted. The building burned down, it was an orphanage, and there was a fire, and five boys died.

SPEAKER_05

Totally fucking haunted. And that is a million percent haunted.

SPEAKER_09

They say like the boys like to be mischievous, so they'll like unplug your charger, they'll like toss your clothes around in the room, they'll you'll hear them laughing or playing in the courtyard when you're trying to sleep in the middle of the night.

unknown

Nope.

SPEAKER_09

So the story goes, and this is you know, take what you will. Um, there was a couple honeymooning, and they knew that the hotel was supposed to be haunted, and the wife was like kind of into that. Um it sounded sounded a little weird.

SPEAKER_01

She's she's into that.

SPEAKER_09

And she goes up to the front desk at one point, and she's like, I don't, she's kind of upset. She's like, I don't think this hotel's actually haunted, nothing's happened since we've been here, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. So they go about their honeymoon, the husband and wife, and then they go home, and a few days later, she's looking through her camera. She calls back to the hotel and she's like, I just want to apologize for what I said. Because as she's going through her photos, she finds one of her and her husband asleep in their hotel bed. No. And the photo is taken from the ceiling, which is a nine-foot ceiling above them.

SPEAKER_06

Nope. Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope.

SPEAKER_09

And our ghost tour guide, he was telling us that his girlfriend had stayed at the hotel because she's also a ghost tour guide, so she thought it'd be fun. And when she was going to bed, she said she could hear a French lullaby being sung down the hallway, and she didn't think anything of it. So she went to sleep and she woke up in the middle of the night screaming because when she opened her eyes, there was a face of a little boy looking at her in a room.

SPEAKER_03

See, in that instance, I'm probably gonna get about three or four shots off before I realize, okay, I'm shooting at nothing. No, yeah, that's not okay. That's not okay. That reminds me, um, we have a friend of ours, Brandon, who actually works in a reputed haunted place here in Nashville. It's called Skull's Rainbow Room. Partly because Dave Skull, I can't remember his last name right now, was murdered in the bar. And to this day, that building itself is reported to be haunted.

SPEAKER_09

There's a ghost tour in Nashville. We should do it.

SPEAKER_03

I did it.

SPEAKER_09

Well, we should do it again.

SPEAKER_03

I will do it again. You could bring the gentleman. And it was actually really cool. It's centered mainly around Broadway, but there's a lot of this is one of those places where there's a lot of history. Anywhere you have a lot of history, a lot of ghost stories. For example, Gettysburg, which is not here, reported to be one of the most haunted places in the country. And my buddy George, who uh we're big history buffs, he's been to Gettysburg multiple times. Weird shit happens, particularly at night, around some of the more bloodier battles of Gettysburg, where at night you see lights moving through the trees that there's nothing there, and things like that. And we've all grown up with ghost stories. I don't think we pay enough attention to them these days, which is why I ended up in a fucking abandoned house looking for a dog named Biscuit, wondering what the hell might be stalking me from the second floor. So there's that.

SPEAKER_09

I knew not to do it.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, but you're not going into any place like that. It's wild because I just fully caught up last night to uh Alien Earth. Ooh. So I'm fully caught up, and it's the same kind of thing, right? Like you were saying earlier, people are yelling at their screen right now for you not to do this. And I was watching this last night, and I'm going, don't do that. Don't do and you did that. And what happened? Bad fucking things. By the way, there is a face hugger scene that is profoundly disturbing because this face hugger gets this guy.

SPEAKER_02

Oh no.

SPEAKER_03

And it's one of those things where it leaps from across, like it's like 10 feet away from and it gets to his face, yeah, but then he fights it for like 15, 20 seconds, and you can hear him and you can see the tail tightening around the neck and the fingers tightening around his head, and he's he's trying to get this thing, and the whole time someone else is watching it happen. No, yes, it's fucked. It's fucked. It's fucked. And if you think it couldn't get any worse for that guy, it really does. Oh no. It really, really does. It's a very interesting story.

SPEAKER_09

I'm excited to binge it.

SPEAKER_03

It's I think you're gonna really like it. It explains a lot about whale and Utani, xenomorphs, all of it. The way that episode ended last night, though, there's a whole other factor to this that's gonna be.

SPEAKER_09

Are you at the end yet?

SPEAKER_03

Well, I'm caught all the way up. I think it's seven episodes right now, and I don't know if they're doing eight. I don't know how long the episode run is. So I don't know. Obviously, it it didn't wrap up. So there's either more to come or there's gonna be another season. And I like how they're talking about the different corporations that run Earth at that point. It's not government anymore, it's corporations. Which, if we look at it at that, that's kind of where we're headed at, folks. You know, not for nothing. We all need to kind of shake ourselves here because some of the shit that's going on in the world right now ain't cool. It ain't fucking cool. It's also part of the reason why the aliens aren't coming to visit us. Let's be very clear about that.

SPEAKER_09

Or apparently they are.

SPEAKER_03

Maybe they are. Oh, Atlas. I was listening to something uh about that when I when I ran errands earlier today. This thing is slowing down and they are going, comets don't slow down, so we really don't know for sure what it might be, but we'll see what that what that looks like.

SPEAKER_09

We'll see what they tell us in the next day or two.

SPEAKER_03

What they tell us, and then what really happens. So, yeah, check out Alien Earth. It's actually really good. Um, enjoying it, super good. I'm still enjoying Silo.

SPEAKER_09

Okay. It's it's got past the first episode.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, I'm about four or five episodes in now.

SPEAKER_09

Nice.

SPEAKER_03

It started to get a little slow.

SPEAKER_09

Yeah. Which you thought it might.

SPEAKER_03

I really want to get out of the silo. And I don't know if we're gonna do that. So we're just gonna have to wait and see. I know it's called silo, that's for sure. So there's that. Um anything else?

SPEAKER_09

I am watching Ash versus Evil Dead right now.

SPEAKER_03

I cannot tell you how much I love Ash.

SPEAKER_06

Give the king some sugar, baby.

SPEAKER_03

Like I cannot, he is one of the best hero, anti-hero heroes ever. Ever. Did you see the original Evil Dead 2?

SPEAKER_09

Uh I don't know if I saw two.

SPEAKER_03

It's the one that so Evil Dead, which he's he's Bruce Campbell, who plays Ash, is in all these. Evil Dead was for real a frightening movie, scary movie. And I'm not talking about the 2013 one. I am talking about the 1982 or 81 movie. That movie's scary. That movie's fucked up because at any given point in time, people closest to you are gonna try to kill you because they're possessed, and it's fucked.

SPEAKER_09

Then they're like there's nothing people can do to prevent it. It just happens.

SPEAKER_03

If they just if they want to possess you, they're gonna possess you. The second one, they it's basically a remake of the first, but then they said, Okay, we're gonna throw some some humor in this. And one of my favorite parts is Ash has just killed and disembembered his girlfriend, and he's staring in the mirror, and there's like a break in the demonic energy and all that, and he's and he's looking in the mirror and he's going, You're okay. You're okay, it's okay, you're okay. And his reflection comes out of the mirror and grabs him by the shoulders and goes, You just chopped up your girlfriend with a chainsaw. Things are not okay, and the way they do it, it's horrifying and hilarious at the same fucking time. So, are you enjoying Ash versus Evil Dead? What platform are you watching it on?

SPEAKER_09

I think it's on Apple.

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

SPEAKER_09

Yeah. But yeah, it's great.

SPEAKER_03

How many episodes in are you?

SPEAKER_09

Um, first season nine episodes in.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. Okay. I love the premise that they released the Evil Dead by smoking weed. I think that was hysterical.

SPEAKER_09

Um, we're at the point, and spoilers, if you haven't watched it, Amanda the cop has just been killed and she has turned.

SPEAKER_03

It has been a hot minute. So I have I need a rewatch on that.

SPEAKER_09

It's good.

SPEAKER_03

It's it is good. Ash versus the evil dead is really good.

SPEAKER_09

It's also So you know how like Ash's hand comes back and it regrows another ash.

SPEAKER_03

Yes.

SPEAKER_09

Yeah, so we're at that part.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. That's good in Army of Darkness, when there's like a thousand little ashes and they tie them up Gulliver's Travel style. It's hilarious. It's it's a deep dive, but it's really, really entertaining horror movie. Horror, campy tongue-in-cheek kind of stuff.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Um, I actually started watching Evil Dead Rise. I have a hard time with that one. Because it's fucked up. It's real to me, it's really scary. Because these are this again, this is the person closest to you, and all of a sudden I'm looking at her going, There's there's something wrong.

SPEAKER_09

You're stuck in this apartment.

SPEAKER_03

There's something wrong, and you're freaking me the fuck out.

SPEAKER_07

Mom.

SPEAKER_03

No.

SPEAKER_07

That's not that's not how you make eggs, man. Mom, yeah, that's not how you make eggs, man.

SPEAKER_03

Exactly. Exactly. It's funny. Because the wifey has said to me, anything like this ever happens, you are to shoot me immediately.

SPEAKER_09

Don't ask questions.

SPEAKER_03

Do not ask questions, just just clip me. And I said the same thing to her. I said, We've watched a lot of Walking Dead, we've watched a lot of zombie movies. You know what to do. Don't hesitate. Because I'll kill you. Because I'm a zombie. I'm not me.

SPEAKER_09

So well, I guess these things I've learned about the gentleman. Ash vs. Evil Dead is probably his favorite show.

SPEAKER_03

Really?

SPEAKER_09

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_03

Does he did he get to the show through the movies?

SPEAKER_09

Yeah, he's an OG watcher. Um, and his favorite movie is The Matrix.

SPEAKER_03

Matrix is really good. The sequels are questionable. That that's for sure.

SPEAKER_09

But the Matrix, as a standalone movie, I would say like the first three are solid.

SPEAKER_03

All right.

SPEAKER_09

The most recent one that they made.

SPEAKER_03

Revolution. Or rebirth, reincarnation, re-whatever the fuck it is.

SPEAKER_09

Garbage. Well, all right. So disappointing, such trash.

SPEAKER_03

If you're not bringing back Morpheus, I've got a problem.

SPEAKER_09

I mean, they like kind of do, but like all CGI weird things. Doesn't count.

SPEAKER_03

It's not Lawrence Fishburne, so no. The first matrix, though, to me was mind-blowing. Mind-blowing. And interesting fun fact, saw it in the theater.

SPEAKER_09

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

I don't go to the movies a lot, right?

SPEAKER_09

I'm like, wow.

SPEAKER_03

But this shut the fuck up. Alright, I kind of walked into that. If I'm being honest, I kind of asked for that. Um, I was working with a buddy of mine, his name is Manny, and he came back to work one and he said, I saw this movie. And we worked in a mall, right? So there's a movie theater, obviously. And he said, I saw this fucking movie. I'm going back to see it tonight. You guys gotta come. We're like, what fucking movie? He goes, The Matrix. I go, I can't remember what that movie? And he goes, Yeah, he goes, You gotta fucking come see this movie. All right, whatever. I gotta say, watching that movie in the theater as opposed to watching it on television, it's a completely different experience. Especially when it comes to bullet bullet time and all of that, blew my mind, right? Which is funny because that movie's 25 years old. Still holds up, still holds up, and now literally we have a huge segment of the population that's walking around going, we're walking around in stimulation. We're in the matrix right now. They may not be wrong. They may not be wrong. I saw a video the other day of this person was in the middle of the street and they were about to get hit by a car, they were gonna get fucking killed. And you just see this blur come across from left to right, grabs the woman, and they're on the other side of the street, and now it's a person standing next to her.

SPEAKER_09

So the flash saved her.

SPEAKER_03

No, it's in the flash.

SPEAKER_09

Also, like you can't trust videos anymore. Have you seen some of these AI videos? Some of them have gotten so good you cannot tell.

SPEAKER_03

A hundred percent. And some of them, I can okay. Stop with the AI shit. All right. I saw one where a little baby's sitting on the front porch and their golden retriever is sitting next to them, and then a mountain lion runs up and tries to eat the kid.

SPEAKER_09

Oh, I've seen that, but it's uh it's an alligator. Yeah, okay.

SPEAKER_03

I saw the gator one too, and I'm going, okay, you know what, AI? Stop it. Stop it. Here's what's interesting to me. In the next five to ten years, we are going to it, it's it's gonna look completely different. It is going to look to where you cannot tell the difference, right? I also saw that they are releasing a device. I call it a device because I don't know what it I don't know what its proper term is, but it's a platform you stand on. You can run and walk on this platform. Yeah, yeah. And you strap in like there's a back piece that you lean into.

SPEAKER_09

Yeah, we're ready, player one in it.

SPEAKER_03

Exactly. Exactly. And then you put your VR shit on and you're in it. You are fucking in it. So if we're here in that space in 2025, within the next five, maybe ten years, and technology technology is moving quick. Virtual reality is going to be a thing. And we're gonna have entire segments of the population that are gonna be living in there full time because there's people right now that can't function out there now. And when you introduce V uh virtual reality to them, forget about it. What's freaking me out a lot is there are already companies selling robots.

SPEAKER_09

$3,000 for a wife from uh China.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. Is that a robot or is that a robot?

SPEAKER_09

It's a robot.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, because you could do the same thing if you need human wife.

SPEAKER_01

I'm just saying you can't like you go to the right site.

SPEAKER_03

So you can buy a robot. Now I want you to think about this, folks. Consider this. In five years, that technology has moved to the point where you can have a robot that looks very human and moves very human. And then what do you do? You incorporate AI into it so it can be your wife. Hmm. Okay. Red flag number one now, because this is basically a computer, what can it do? Well, it can tap into a network, and when it starts talking to all its little AI buttons, okay, have we not seen Battlestar Galactica? Have we not seen Terminator or any of these where the AI all of a sudden goes, you know what? I don't think we need humans.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Or even worse, like the Matrix, we're gonna use them as power supply. I guarantee you, in 10 years, it looks completely foreign to you and I. The kids, the younger generations now, the 10-year-olds, the toddlers, it's gonna be a way of life for them. Think about this. And I'm glad this is coming up because I was thinking about talking to you about this anyway. You were 15 when AI or AI, you were 15 when social media became a thing. I was 35. And watching how social media changed things, I can't say it's all for the positive. I really can't. In fact, there is a lot of instances where I would say the negatives outweigh the positives, and for everybody out there going, I make my living on it, okay.

SPEAKER_09

How long? For how long?

SPEAKER_03

For how long, right? And there's detriments there. There's there's you're trading off things, especially anybody on OnlyFans. Right? And I'm not saying don't go on OnlyFans. What I'm saying is this that's gonna come around again on you, right? It's like when I was a kid, and I say a kid, I was in my 20s, and girls I knew were getting boob jobs, and what I cracked up about, and I still crack up about it because I see it now, is when I see somebody in a nursing home and they've obviously got some faked titties.

SPEAKER_09

And it's like people are like, well, you can't see my face, that doesn't matter. People can find out it's you.

SPEAKER_03

It doesn't matter. Not only that, with AI, you have deep fakes now, you have so much going on with that. When when the lines between reality and fantasy become blurred, it's an issue. And where we're headed is in that direction. I'm all for a ready player one situation. I would not mind going into an oasis or a virtual reality where I could have fun playing the video games I play, or like in the book where you can go into a virtual reality setting and live the movie, your favorite movie for a couple of hours.

SPEAKER_09

Right.

SPEAKER_03

Like if I wanted to be John Bender from The Breakfast Club, I could go in and play that character.

SPEAKER_09

That's who you pick?

SPEAKER_03

Uh, it's just an example. I don't think I would pick that one, actually.

SPEAKER_09

What movie would you want to go into, Mike?

SPEAKER_03

Oh, God, there's so many. Uh, right out of the gate, Indiana fucking Jones.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

I'm faders of the Lost Ark, man. We're going after the Lost Ark of the Covenant. Actually, Last Crusade, because I want to be with Sean Connery. Let's fucking go.

unknown

Um, all right.

SPEAKER_03

Let's fucking go. But that's a great example of a movie I would absolutely jump in. Absolutely 100%. 100%. Maybe fatal attraction. Don't look at me.

SPEAKER_04

It was worth it just to see the look on her face when I said that.

SPEAKER_09

Okay.

SPEAKER_06

No. Don't you why, Mike? Don't you judge me? Why? You know why. You know why. Don't you judge me.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_09

Alright. Alright. It'd be cool to do, like, even though it's like we live in the Matrix. But like to go into the Matrix, that'd be cool to do that one. To jump into the Matrix. 100%. I'd be Trinity. Right? I'll be Neo. That'd be cool. Or Morpheus. Yeah, I'm like, you wouldn't want to be Morpheus?

SPEAKER_03

I mean Morpheus is pretty bad. Actually, I would probably end up being like Cypher.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I want to go back in, eat my steak. Can I be somebody important? Someone with power. But that fantastic. There's also the advent of AI and what it's going to do for us for medical and healthcare. It's going to do amazing things. But there's also going to be a lot of things that are going to be questionable, and where do we draw the line? California, which is its own rabbit hole to go down. I read an article that said that they are introducing legislation that will ban the use of AI in reproducing music, actors, likenesses, voices, all of it. For somebody like me, who's in a voiceover profession, who does a podcast, who does own camera work, that's a really, really beneficial law.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Because it prevents AI from being used to just create art, really. With that said, I've looked at some of the AI-generated Star Wars remakes. They're fucking crazy good.

SPEAKER_09

I know the music stuff is good too.

SPEAKER_03

Did you hear?

SPEAKER_09

And this has been talked about on a very specific podcast that was it the band on Spotify that had like millions of followers and listeners, and it the whole thing is AI.

SPEAKER_03

No, this was um AI generated. There's a song by 50 Cent called Many Men. And AI redid this rap song as like a 60s RB soul. It's so fucking good. It is ridiculously good. And they're finding ways around copyright laws in order to do this so that they can release this music under a different moniker or whatever. So where do we draw the line where the lines get blurred? Another thing that's going to be interesting is to see the impact that AI is going to have on dating, relationships, and sexuality. Because there's people out there right now that can't date. I mean, we talked about this last episode. I probably couldn't date right now in today's day and age, right? But there's not going to be a need to go out and do it if you can have an AI companion.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Especially, okay, and gentlemen, I'm specifically directing this at you. Not my not my gentleman. Not not Kelsey's gentleman. I'm talking men as a whole, men in general. Guys, guys, hear me out on this one. Okay. There's no such thing as an incel. Okay? If you're standing there and you're upset because you are not dating or you're not, I want you to look in the mirror. I want you to point at that person in the mirror, and I want you to go, this is on you, right? Please learn how to talk to people. Go out. Back in the day, we used to call it have a little game, right? Learn how to fucking talk to people, but don't blame women because you can't get a date. And if you're absolutely entertaining the idea of, I'm gonna get an AI girlfriend, like replica or honey. These are absolutely applications, I guess.

SPEAKER_09

I don't like it.

SPEAKER_03

Right? Where you can go in and create a virtual girlfriend that's AI based that will be tailored to your don't do it. And then it will learn from you and be your girlfriend. If you're doing that or you're entertaining that thought, bro, get out more.

SPEAKER_09

Yeah. Um it's funny because we were talking about uh we the gentleman and I are pretty big on communication. Like we like to be very open um with anything. And we were talking about it the other day, and he was like, Yeah, I'm really good. Because I asked him, I was like, What's what's your strengths in relationships? And he was like, Well, I'm really good at communicating. He was like, now communicating with other people and their feelings. He's like, My feelings, not so much. Um and I asked him, he's like, Sometimes I hold back a little bit, and I was like, Well, is there anything you've held back with me? And he goes, No, and then he goes, Well, and I'm like, What is it?

SPEAKER_01

What did you do?

SPEAKER_09

He's like, Okay, well, there's this, he's like, there's this one thing. He's like, it's really small, but there's this one. And I'm like, yeah. He's like, I can't, and I'm like, you have to tell me.

SPEAKER_00

We have to talk about it.

SPEAKER_09

And he's like, okay, well, you know, when we're cuddling and we're like watching a movie, he likes to lay on me and we're cuddling. And he's like, you sometimes make this noise. And we're back to Kelsey's noises with your mouth. And I can't really figure out what we're doing. He's like, he's like, I keep, he's like, I don't know if you notice, sometimes I like pop up and stare at you. He's like, I'm trying to figure out what it is that you're doing. He's like, it's like this.

SPEAKER_04

What are you doing?

SPEAKER_09

What is that? He's like, what are you doing? And I was like, I literally have no idea what you're talking about. And I was like, if it happens again, you have to point it out. You have to be like, that was it. So I can be like, okay, I know what I'm because I I was like, maybe I think I was like, maybe I think I have food in my teeth because I'm really self-conscious about having food in my teeth and then talking or laughing and there being food there.

SPEAKER_03

Or it's spraying out on the person you're talking to, because that's a thing for me.

SPEAKER_09

I'm like, So I'm like, maybe I'm sucking on my teeth because I'm like, oh, is there food in there? And I'm dying laughing. Like, I am dying laughing at this point. I was like, out of all the things I expected you to say, it was not Did not have that on the bingo card. And he was like, wow, I feel so much better. He was like, that was so he's like, I'm so glad we talked about this. He's like, that was so good. He's like, we did such a good job. He's like, we had a thing where it could have been a conflict, and he's like, and it went really well. How is it's a conflict? Well, he's like, you know, sometimes if you say stuff like that to people, they get upset. Got it.

SPEAKER_03

Got it, got it, got it. He's right.

SPEAKER_09

They're like self-conscious. He's like, you don't know how people are gonna react when you tell them something.

SPEAKER_03

What do you mean I make noise?

SPEAKER_08

And I'm just over here like pissing my pants, laughing.

SPEAKER_03

Meanwhile, Kelsey's like, yeah. What do you mean?

SPEAKER_08

What noises?

SPEAKER_03

I don't make noises.

SPEAKER_09

Oh my god. Okay, don't sound like that.

SPEAKER_03

I used I was I was doing clicker sounds. Oh no. And it was, it was, it scared the cat. Cat was like, I'm gonna leave now.

SPEAKER_09

So so yeah, if um, so I'll we'll circle back on that if he if he ever points it out to me and he goes, that was it, and then I'll be like, oh, I know what I'm doing. I but he's like, I don't think you realize like how he's like, I'm laying right next to you, so I don't think you realize like how loud it is externally.

SPEAKER_03

I am understandably curious. And as someone who makes where random noises myself, yeah, and does not know that he's doing it, I get that.

SPEAKER_09

And I was like, what if I I was like, what if what if like I just kept doing it even after you told me it bothered you? And he was like, I would probably just like cuddle somewhere lower on your body. Like, what he's like, it's not necessarily a deal breaker, but now I'm cuddling your legs instead of your be careful, gentlemen.

SPEAKER_03

She's a little gassy sometimes.

SPEAKER_08

No! You can't say it like that.

SPEAKER_03

Sorry. Um my apologies. It's just Kelsey noise. It's fine.

SPEAKER_04

It's just it's fine. It's all fine. Everything's fine.

SPEAKER_03

Holy shit, that's funny. Well, I'm glad to see that you two are getting along and breaking new ground and covering new territory.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, thank you.

SPEAKER_03

That is that is good stuff. That is good stuff. What do you have on tap for the weekend?

SPEAKER_09

Masquerade ball.

SPEAKER_03

Ooh. I myself have a costume party tonight, so that's gonna be fun.

SPEAKER_09

What are you dressing as?

SPEAKER_03

Uh, so here's the here's the thing. I was tonight, uh, you remember the movie Purge Election Year?

SPEAKER_07

Oh, yeah, that's right. You and Kathy were gonna do the thingy.

SPEAKER_03

So she doesn't have the Statue of Liberty costume anymore.

SPEAKER_02

No, it happens.

SPEAKER_03

We've got the mask, she doesn't have the dress or the uh the torch that came with it. We just don't know where it is. And I mean, frankly, we've moved three times since then. So it's not surprising to me that it's kind of lost somewhere. We'll probably find it a year from now. So I was gonna do the homicidal Uncle Sam. I'm not sure on the crowd on this one. So I decided to go a little bit safer as far as I don't want here's the thing. It's not political to me. It could be considered political to someone else.

SPEAKER_09

It's a fucking costume.

SPEAKER_03

I know that, you know that, most people know that. Here's the thing. I'm going to a costume party, I don't want to have the conversation. Do you know what I mean?

SPEAKER_09

The gentleman tried to dress up as um have you watched the new Netflix series Monster?

SPEAKER_03

With a game? Yeah, I haven't watched it, but I'm familiar.

SPEAKER_09

So he has like that exact outfit.

SPEAKER_03

That's creepy.

SPEAKER_09

I know. He was like, I have this outfit, I'll just wear that. I'm like, you don't think it's concerning that you have a serial killer outfit in your closet, just naturally? And no one knew who he was. He was so bummed.

SPEAKER_03

Are you serious?

SPEAKER_01

Oh, brutal.

SPEAKER_03

And I don't know that anybody would know who I or who I am or what movie that was from, right? But it is an Uncle Sam costume. It's a red, white, and blue suit. And given the current political climate, I would just as soon not have that discussion because I will fucking destroy you in that discussion. You know what I mean? Like, I just don't, I'm going to a Halloween party. I want to have fun. I don't want to have a political discussion. So for tonight, baby girl is gonna be a witch.

SPEAKER_09

I was about to say I could have brought in my witch costume because I have a witch.

SPEAKER_03

She's got her witch costume, she's got her hat, she's got her elegant witch dress, which I am a huge fan of. Okay. And I don't know if she's got a broom, but it doesn't matter. So what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna wear my Hogwarts robes and just go the Harry Potter out.

SPEAKER_09

Nice.

SPEAKER_03

Not saying I'm gonna be Harry Potter, however, I will be representing Gryffindor.

SPEAKER_02

Great.

SPEAKER_03

Saturday night, we have another costume party. I will be wearing the homicidal Uncle Sam to that one.

SPEAKER_09

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Because I also don't believe in living a fear-based life. Good. It's a great costume. Yep. If you've got a problem with it, you should know that I'm portraying a homicidal maniac. So you might want to be careful. No, I'm kidding. I'm not kidding. But uh yeah, that's what we're doing.

SPEAKER_09

It can be traced back. Nothing we say.

SPEAKER_03

This is all hypothetical, folks. This is all hypothetical. So yeah, it's uh it's interesting because uh in conversation the other day with somebody who I did not know, uh, I was at my job, and I asked them a specific question about something, and the answer I got was I don't know if you want to have that conversation because I don't think you'll agree with me.

SPEAKER_09

Oh, geez. You know what's funny is conversations can be had when you don't agree.

SPEAKER_03

Exactly my point.

SPEAKER_09

I'm thinking cares if I don't agree with you.

SPEAKER_03

The greatness is having the conversation and and having having a place of understanding for both of us. Do we have to agree? No. Can we have a conversation about it and reach a place of agreement? Absolutely. But if you're gonna condemn me, well, I guess we're just gonna have to go in a different direction.

SPEAKER_09

So that's where That's so funny that he led with that. I don't think we can have this conversation because I don't think you'll agree with me. Like, what? How much you're gonna have it's gonna be difficult for you in life.

SPEAKER_03

It already is.

SPEAKER_09

If you're thinking that every conversation you have with somebody is has to be agreeable.

SPEAKER_03

And I didn't say this because obviously I'm working and I'm just not going down that road. How much prejudgment did you just throw at me? How much judgment did you just throw at me and I didn't even give you my opinion yet? Now, given what you said, I'm sure you were not gonna agree with my opinion. That's probably that's probably accurate. And we still should be able to have that discussion. We should still be able to talk about it. But there's a lot of people out there right now. It's not okay to talk about it, and if you don't agree with me, you should probably die. And that's a shitty way to go about it. That's a shitty approach, period. Agreed, period. So we're gonna have a great Halloween weekend, both of us. You're going to a masquerade ball. I'm guessing there will be dancing.

SPEAKER_09

Yeah, so I was at a Halloween party last. Uh I was at a Halloween party Tuesday night. I was a witch. Last night was a dance Halloween thing. I was just wearing a skeleton onesie.

SPEAKER_03

Was uh were you at a Halloween party from with a mutual friend of ours last night? I'm a little bummed we we didn't go to that.

SPEAKER_09

No, it was good, it was fun.

SPEAKER_03

We just weren't up for it.

SPEAKER_09

Yeah, that's okay.

SPEAKER_03

All the things given. But um love her. She's a sweetheart. She's the best.

SPEAKER_09

Yeah. And then Saturday's Masquerade Ball, and there's like a murder mystery thing going on.

unknown

Murder.

SPEAKER_09

Murder.

SPEAKER_07

Murder.

SPEAKER_03

That's right on. So, alright.

SPEAKER_07

Um, so everyone, um, stay safe out there.

SPEAKER_03

Let's, you know, let's say it. Happy Halloween.

SPEAKER_07

Happy Halloween, guys.

SPEAKER_03

Go out, have a fucking blast. Get dressed up. If you want to be slutty, be slutty. I fully endorse those things. I'm a mouse. Sure, you are, and I love your tale. Um go out, have a great time, have fun, respect each other.

SPEAKER_09

Yeah, eat candy. Don't like try and kick down people's front doors. That's not cool.

SPEAKER_03

You'll probably get shot.

SPEAKER_09

Yeah. Careful out there. Be careful out there, kids.

SPEAKER_03

It's not a good thing. Oh, speaking of getting shot, uh, just sideboat bar real quick. Uh, I watched that uh The Perfect Neighbor on Netflix. It's really good documentary. I don't appreciate that it is it is uh a knock on stand your ground laws because they're saying this is why stand your ground laws are terrible. But it wasn't a stand your ground case. The prosecutor said right out of the gate, this isn't stand your ground. So it's kind of a confusing finger point, if you will. It is still a really good documentary. It is still really shitty that that woman was killed the way she was by her fucking neighbor, who was an absolute crazy person when it came to this. But it's also a good watch. So just keeping up with you know shows we're watching, sort of thing. But going back to it, great Halloween this weekend, you guys. Get dressed up, go out, have fun, get candy, get late if you can. I endorse that fully. And uh, we'll be seeing you kids next time.

SPEAKER_07

Thanks, y'all. Love you, love you guys.

SPEAKER_03

Thanks for listening and follow us, comment, do all the things. Also, we are always open to suggestions on show topics, conversations, or anything else you'd like us to give a shout out about.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah. We're here, we're here for you.

SPEAKER_03

We are here for you.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

All right. Well, thank you, Kelsey. Thanks, Mike. We'll see you next week. Bye. Bye.
