Welcome to Kingdom Kids, the Twin Podcast with Mama Mitch. The Twin Podcast is for twins grade five through eight to learn about Christian topics and a healthy relationship with Jesus Christ. Let's join Mama Mitch in today's guest.

Mamma Mish

Hey guys, welcome to our brand new podcast. It's Kingdom Kids, and we are talking to an almost middle schooler, right, guys? Yeah. Okay, he's almost middle school. And we also have Grandad George here. So we're going to be talking about Jesus today. So I'm going to start off praying because we always pray before a podcast. And then I'm going to read a small scripture scripture out of John chapter three. And we're going to kind of just see where God takes us today with Jesus. So thank you, Father God, for your grace and mercy and favor. Thank you for Gus, who has the sweetest spirit. I'm so glad he's with us today. And thank you, Lord, for this time is your time. And this time is about learning about who you are and who your son Jesus is and what Jesus has done for all of humanity. So, Lord, I just pray that you speak through me, speak through Gus, speak through Grandad George, and we just enjoy this time together. So thank you, God, for being here in Jesus' name. Amen. So I'm going to start off saying this is very exciting to be able to do this podcast. It's very exciting because our grandson Gus had an idea and mentioned it to me, mentioned it to Grandad George. And before we know it, less than a week later, here we are sitting here doing the podcast as part of Kingdom Kids with Mama Mish. So let's start by reading the scripture. It's in John 3:16. I'm going to read verse 16 and 17, and then we're going to talk about it with Goss and Grandad George. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send his son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved. So do you guys understand that whole scripture is about Jesus Christ? So tell me, Gus, have you ever heard that scripture before? No. Okay. So when I tell you about Jesus, tell me what you know. Uh I know he's the son of God and he went to the real world he went to a world I mean, uh earth to um help help us get straight. And I know he died on the cross because a bunch of people didn't trust him or something. Yes. And he came back about two days later and he said he'd be back in two t two thousand years. He said he is coming back. Well he you mean when he died he died on the cross. Did you know that? Yeah. He died on the cross, and do you know why he died on the cross? To get it straight is good, but there was something really special about when Jesus died on the cross. Now, do you know that all happens at Easter time, right? That's when it happens. So on Friday, it's called Good Friday. Did you know that? No. Okay, the Friday before Easter is always called Good Friday. And on that day, Jesus, who was perfect, did you know he was perfect? Yeah. He never did anything wrong. He was perfect. He was God's son.

Gus B.

Yeah.

Mamma Mish

So on that day, he all of the sin, do you know what sin is? The bad stuff that we do. All of everyone's sin went on him. All of it. He was unrecognizable. And he died on that cross. Because people could not obey God. They could not stop doing bad things. So he had to go on the cross so that you and I could live. Does that make sense? So you understand what sin is? Yeah. Okay. Tell me, tell me what you're what you think sin is. Tell me how explain it to me. Okay, so a sin is like all the it's like bad stuff you do, like rob a bang, steal money from someone, steal some candy. Yep. That's the that's a sin. What if you smack your little brother? Uh that's also a sin. What if you don't listen to your parents? That's also a sin. Yes. Anything that is against God. Because the Bible says we are to respect our parents, we are to love one another and treat one another like we want them to treat us. So if you're not doing all of that, you're in sin. Now, because of what Jesus did on the cross, do you know what happened when he died on the cross? Do you know where he went? Uh, he went to heaven. Where's the other place? H E double hockey sticks. H E double hockey sticks. That's where he went. Who lives down there? Do you know who lives down there? Uh-huh. Do you know what his name is? Yes. You wanna say it? No. Me neither. He's the D guy. Yeah. He's not a nice guy. He is not a nice guy. He doesn't like Jesus. So Jesus went down there to kick his butt and to tell him, You don't win anymore. I do. So on the third day, what happened? He came back. He rose from the dead. Who rose him from the dead? Do you know? God. Yeah. Jesus lived on earth. Have you ever heard of the Gospels? Oh, yeah. Because that's what I just read out of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. The Gospels tell us what? Do you know? Oh. All about Jesus. How did Jesus live on the earth? If you read the Gospels, you'll know. Do you know all the special things Jesus did? Uh not entirely. Do you know that he healed people?

Gus B.

No.

Mamma Mish

He did miracles? Yeah. Like he healed people on the spot. Grandad George, what's one of the healings you remember in the Bible? Do you remember one specific one?

Grand Dad George

I made a blind man C. Do you remember how he did it? He uh picked up some mud and spit in the mud and spit in his hand and rubbed all the mud together. And he uh rubbed the mud on the blind person's eyes and said, Go wash your face. And when uh the person washed their face they could see.

Mamma Mish

So he made a blind man see. He did that a couple of times. Do you know what else he did? Uh something having to do with the D guy. Because the D guy has little demons that run around and mess with people. Did you know that?

Gus B.

Yeah.

Mamma Mish

Did you ever meet a person and they were like crazy? Sometimes that's because of that D guy. Demons. Jesus would walk up to a person and cast out, which means get the demons out of them. And if it whether it was a a child, a teenager, uh, an adult, Jesus did it with one or two words. He'd say, Get out, devil. I rebuke you. And guess what would happen? They'd leave. They would be scared. They would, because they knew that was Jesus. Pretty powerful. So when Jesus rose from the dead, that was huge for me and you and everybody who believes. Because that means we too, when we die, do you know where you're going? Up down heaven. Do you know how to get there? Uh to believe in God? To believe in Jesus. To say the prayer of faith. That's how you go to heaven. There's only one way to get to heaven: Jesus. Have you ever said the prayer of faith? Yeah. You have said? Yeah. Congratulations! Do you know what that means? Oh, I'm going to heaven. You're going to heaven. And you're forgiven for all your sins. So if you're forgiven for all your sins, what does that mean for your life? How do you live that way? It's hard sometimes. Yeah. Well, if you mess up in life, you say the wrong thing, you smack your little brother, when your mom turns around, you stick your tongue out, you are not nice to a kid at school. I know you and I know you're a sweetheart, so I don't think you do all these things, right? But do you see other kids doing them? Uh well, yeah. Okay. So if you mess up, do you know what to do? Uh. Because Jesus is in your heart, right? So do you know what to do? Ask him what to do next. Just tell him you're sorry. Did you know that? Alright. Because of what Jesus did on the cross, you go right to God and tell him, this is what I when I mess up, because I mess up, Gus. George, do you unc Granddad George, do you mess up?

Grand Dad George

Never.

Mamma Mish

Very funny. He does. I'm loving you though. The minute I mess up, Gus, I look up and I say, God, I'm sorry. Please forgive me. I didn't do the right thing. I just goofed up. And Grandad can tell you, haven't I done things sometimes, Grandad, and I said the wrong thing, or I did I think I apologized to you for this morning for something.

Grand Dad George

This feels like a setup.

Mamma Mish

It's not a setup. But Grandad, what do I say? What Grandad George, what do I do when I mess up? What do you do when you mess up?

Grand Dad George

Uh we just tell each other, you know, we're sorry, and life's hard sometimes. It is hard. Sometimes we get frustrated, sometimes we get lonely, angry, or tired, or we just had enough Sometimes come out of our mouth that uh we don't intend to come out of our mouth. We have to make ourselves right with the people that we love or the people that we interacted with, but we need to clear ourselves with our with God, with our Savior. Because sin is all those things that you say. You know, it's stealing or lying or hitting or cheating and all that stuff, but you know sin for me really is when something happens and then I feel unworthy to be in God's presence. And so the relationship that is your whole lifelong relationship that you have with our Father in Heaven through his son Jesus Christ. When you feel like you're not worthy to be saved anymore. When the mistake that you made you feel is so great that you stop talking to God for a while because you don't feel like you're worthy of being saved. So sin is a lot of things, but it doesn't just have to be that you stole something. It doesn't just have to be that you had a friend or you had a brother or you yelled at somebody or whatever it is. It it's really anything that happens that separates you from the presence of God in your life. Does that make sense? Doesn't have to make sense. You know, I know I know that uh I'm I'm excited about this. I've been excited about you because I know you have heart for God.

Gus B.

Mm-hmm.

Mamma Mish

Um You do. You definitely do.

Grand Dad George

Well why don't we let Gus talk?

Mamma Mish

I was just gonna say, do you have because I do think that maybe you might have something to say, and there are people that want to hear what you have to say. And if you have any questions for me or Grandad George, you're more than welcome to ask us some questions, so feel free, Gus. Uh so I remember looking at your Facebook and I looked at a video, it said something about the Epstein files. Uh I want to know something about that. About the Epstein? Oh, I think I was saying that people should take their eyes off of everything they see and not and trust God. As far as the Epstein files, um, I don't have a lot to say about that, but I have a lot to pray about that. So I've been praying for the children and for anybody who's had anything to do with it. When you walk with God, you walk in the light. You probably heard me say that lots of times on on social media. We are the light of God. We are all the light of God. Do you understand there's darkness in the world? Yeah, that whole situation with the Epstein files is dark. Dark. So you know what my prayer's been? That God would reveal his light and shine it on the darkness so that the truth comes out. Because not all of that's not truth that comes out. Some of it is just people, it's things people want, people they think people want to hear. Do you know what I'm saying? I'm not saying it didn't happen, but you gotta have discernment. Do you know what discernment is?

Gus B.

No.

Mamma Mish

Discernment is telling between the truth and the lie. Anything from the D guy and in darkness is a lie. Anything in this, I'm holding up the Bible, is the truth. How do you live your life? You read this and understand it. Who helps you read this and understand it? God. So when you are born again, that's what when you said the prayer of faith, you're born again. So you're a new Gus. I'm a new Michelle. Granddad's a new granddad, George. So when you're new, like you ever had anything new? It's like brand new, like Christmas morning, you get all new kind of stuff. It's all shiny and pretty, and you're all excited, and it's really great. And then what happens after a while? It starts to get a little crappy. It's not so great anymore, right? Yeah. That's what happens to people who believe in Jesus. And and in order to stay in that new, exciting, you know, I got Jesus, I'm with God. You gotta get in the Bible. And if you don't have a kid, but did we buy Gus a Kid Bible, granddad Jesus?

Grand Dad George

He's got a cartoon style bot. We bought that for him.

Speaker 3

Yeah.

Mamma Mish

But if you want a Bible that's kind of your age group, you let me know and I'll get you one. I think we might have one at him. Okay. Because that's important. The other thing that you can do to keep your relationship with Jesus new is pray. Do you do that now? Yeah.

Gus B.

Yeah? I play on this like every day.

Mamma Mish

Yay! Me too. What does that mean for you, Bess? Pray. What do you think that means? Or what does it mean to you? Not what do you think it means?

Gus B.

It means for me, it means like I ask him to help me with something. Like if he could help me with a math a math test or a reading test. I love it. If my friend could have came over, but that didn't really work today. Another time. Yeah. We'll do it again. So if you have anything to say to kids your age, what would you say to them about all of this? Uh I don't really know. It's okay. It's okay. Do you have any questions about all Jesus and everything? If you have anything to ask us, ask us. I don't think so. No? Do you have a question, Grandad George?

Grand Dad George

I would just say like I said, Gus, uh I think that we're all chosen by our God, by our Father in heaven, to be something, to do something. Doesn't mean that we will be something or that we will do what God has meant us to do. Sometimes we've gotta go through a lot of different things to get there. But I really believe that you do have a calling. You do want to know who Jesus is, who God our Father is. So one of the things that makes me know that is because you always speak to speak of Jesus with me. You're always excited to tell me something that you saw or something that you found or something that you made with your being prayer. What are you thinking when you are interested in showing me your granddad something about Jesus?

Gus B.

Uh I'm thinking about God and Jesus.

Mamma Mish

Yeah, of course. Um and they make you feel good, you feel peace and hope is probably the best. The scripture I read said God's it says God so loved you that he sent Jesus. He sent Jesus for you. Isn't that wild? So you wouldn't perish, which means you're not going where the D guy is. You're going where the G guy is. That's important for you to understand that. Your whole life has changed. You are now feeling something brand new. And then the second scripture talks about Jesus saved you. He saved you from sin. We're still gonna sin, but you know what to do now. Just tell God you're sorry and tell the person you're sorry if you did something against somebody. But you for you're forgiven, you are going to heaven, and you have this incredible connection with God right now. You can talk to God whenever. The minute you say, dear God, do you know what he does? He takes his ear down to you and listens to you. Every time. Every time. So before we go, do you remember the prayer of faith that you said? Not entirely, but uh I tell me what you remember. I don't really remember anything from it, but um, I know where I read it from. I read it from your cookbook that you made. At the last rate. Right! It does have the prayer of faith in the all the books I write have the prayer of faith in it. You probably saw that in the Christmas book. Do you know why it's important that people know that prayer? Uh, so they can be born and go to heaven. Absolutely. So you understand that if you're not reborn, you know where you're going. There's only one way to get to heaven, and that's through Jesus Christ and what he did when he lived, he died, he rose again, and then he went back up to be with his father. So every part of his life affects your life. It's pretty cool. And you know, Jesus came for all of us for your brothers, your sister, your parents, your your family, your friends, your teachers, everybody came for everybody. And what he did on the cross was for everybody. And he did it because he loves you. Pretty cool, huh? So, what if we all said the prayer of faith together? Okay. What if I started it and we all repeat it together? It's not long, it's pretty simple. Alright, ready? Dear Lord. Dear Lord, I need Jesus. I need Jesus. Come into my heart. Come into my heart. Forgive me for my sins. Forgive me for my sins. And change me, God. And change me, God. I want to be a better person.

Speaker 3

I want to be a better person. I want to come to heaven. I want to come to heaven. And I want to be reconciled. I want to be reconciled. Back to you, God. Back to you, God. Thank you for saving me. Thank you for saving me.

Speaker 4

I love you, Jesus.

Speaker 3

I love you, Jesus.

Speaker 4

I love you, God.

unknown

I love you.

Speaker 3

I love you, God.

Speaker 4

In Jesus' name.

Speaker 3

In Jesus' name.

unknown

Amen.

Mamma Mish

That's it. If you get to come back, if you're interested in coming back and having a conversation from your uh Bible that you the cartoon Bible you want to read, have you read a story that interests you? Have you uh can you think of a story from the Bible? Because one of the cool things about the Word of God, the Bible, the gospels tell the story of Jesus, but there's a whole lot of other stories. Yeah. Like the one we just did, David and Goliath.

Grand Dad George

There's there's there's things in the in in the Bible about swords and shields and armor. Armor. Putting the armor on. Being a soldier.

Mamma Mish

There's there's stories in the Old Testament about, you know, David slaying a giant and uh Moses leading them when God parted the Red Sea. And Joseph being thrown in a pit. His brothers threw him in a pit. So we can definitely good point, Granddad George. We can definitely pick a story from the old, that's the Old Testament. You know, there's an Old Testament and a New Testament. The difference is Jesus showed up in the New Testament. Because in the Old Testament, none of those people could stop sinning. So God had to send Jesus to save us. Because guess where everybody was going? Down there. That's a good point, though, Granddad George. Maybe pick out a story, and I can send you some, like Noah and the Ark. That's a great story. Yeah, that's one of my favorites. And we can talk about it. So you have to read it and be all up on it. And then we can come together and talk about it. And if you want to bring some friends, we can talk about it together. We can have a little Old Testament Noah party, whatever you want to do. Okay. So anything you want to say to the kids out there before we go? Uh, I think you said, love God, talk to him all the time, and have faith in him. Absolutely. Thank you, Gus, for joining us today. And hopefully we'll have you again soon. Thank you, Granddad George, for joining us. And we are so excited that y'all get to hear a little bit more about Jesus, a little bit more about the gospel. And we pray blessings upon blessings. And thank you for joining Kingdom Kids today on our very first podcast with Gus.

Grand Dad George

Can I read something I heard? Sure. Somebody said TikTok or something that if you read this prayer over anybody, and it's uh from the Old Testament, maybe from the book of Numbers, maybe.

Mamma Mish

Say it maybe not.

Grand Dad George

That if you read this over anybody, the presence of the Lord will be there. May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace. So I just read that over here so that the presence of the Lord is with you. Always. Always. Always. We'll give that to you so you can read that over your family if you want.

Mamma Mish

And we will give you the scripture where it is in the Bible, too. I'll give that to you today, too. Okay. But that's great. Grandad George, thank you so much for sharing that.

Gus B.

Yeah.

Grand Dad George

And thus, again, thank you for joining us, and we look forward to having you back again.

Gus B.

Okay.

Mamma Mish

And we'll see you everybody soon. Yeah, let's go get some pancakes.
