Hey, welcome back, Pierre as the show. It's good to be back in the saddle again after three or four weeks of baseball. I'm happy to be here. Uh I got a couple friends with me this weekend or this week here. Uh we're gonna hit MDT Midsummer recap, Punisher Positional recap.
SPEAKER_02Austin Bushman won the Punisher Positional and then forgot that he was supposed to come do a podcast with us. But stay tuned for a special treat.
SPEAKER_04120 burgers, they don't shoot, they don't win matches, they suck. Don't buy them.
SPEAKER_03Stay tuned for the podcast. Yes. Yes. You're gonna love the show, guys. Thank you. Hey, here we are. It's been a little while.
SPEAKER_02It's good to see you. Good to see you too, buddy.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. You've been on a couple of these in my absence, right?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, we had a couple. I had a couple. It only it felt uh it felt strange. Better in some ways, but overall, overall, it just isn't the same without without dear to Kenneth.
SPEAKER_03I appreciate that. Uh I'll say this. I actually was pretty entertained when I had an opportunity to go back and listen, you know, right before we you know the our our editor would say, Hey, we're publishing, cool. And then I would tune into it. This is what everybody gets to enjoy. I love it. Do you get to listen to any of them? You spend any time?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I I pretty much listen to all of them.
SPEAKER_03Like if it if it if it's when uh when it gets uploaded at a reasonable a reasonable uh that was two weeks ago, and and this is no joke, um we gotta so you know our content gets uploaded to we use Riverside uh dot com and uh it gets uploaded on Tuesday nights. Um I have to about 8 a.m. Wednesday morning to like, you know, if there's anything I gotta tell them that's special about this, or like, hey, at you know, 45 minutes in, somebody says a word they shouldn't, or whatever it is, right? Uh but they start editing it like 8 a.m. on Wednesday, and it was Wednesday night of that week. I got a message at like 7:30, 8 o'clock, where he's like, dude, this two and a half hour long episode is gonna take some extra time to finish. We ain't gonna be done Thursday morning. Yeah, and I don't think it was done until Friday at noon. Yeah, Clay and Jeff like to listen to their own voices. Well, to be fair, I like listening to them too.
SPEAKER_02I know. I'm just giving them shit. Yeah, it was it was a long episode. But it was I'd put on Punisher check-in on Friday. Everybody's like, where's the podcast? Where why didn't you why didn't you get it uploaded, Beamer? I'm like, I don't have I just show up and talk.
SPEAKER_03Yep.
SPEAKER_02Which makes it fun. I'm just here hanging out with my buddies. Yeah. Like everybody has given me a hard time about the podcast not being up when they're driving into the match. I was like, I I'm I'm so sorry. Please direct all of your hate and complaints towards Ken at Precision Ref Series Talk.
SPEAKER_03Exactly. Yeah, I appreciate that.
SPEAKER_02But uh yeah, it was it is weird and uh kind of surreal to have everybody, you know, well not everybody, but a bunch of people coming up and listening to me talking about the podcast and how how much they enjoy it. And it's like, oh, I'm just some idiot.
SPEAKER_03I mean, we're entertaining, I you know, to a well, all right.
SPEAKER_02So you're lumping yourself, you're lumping yourself into uh I'm trying to be.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. So what's funny is right after we bought the PRS, I uh I was talking to a buddy of mine who's a very successful businessman locally here, and he's like, the first thing he said was, uh, you're an influencer now. And I'm like, no freaking way. Nope. Like that's if anybody knew me prior to all this, like that's not me. Yeah. I had dinner with him like two weeks ago, Missy, and I went out to dinner on Friday night, and I'm like, nah, you're absolutely right. Like, what drives the business is a lot of cases creating content.
SPEAKER_02I mean, that's what is driving everything, and it seems like in in the modern day, it's all freaking social media content, and this is what everybody's uh tuning into, and you produce content to hopefully sell a product of your own as as part of the actual profit for the back end, and it's like this is just what I I don't know what I don't know what segment of the the economy is driven from. Oh my gosh. But I bet it's substantial.
SPEAKER_03It's enormous. It's gotta be. It's gotta be. Um speaking of content, uh, I'm actually gonna show this off. I I received this in the mail. Oh boy.
SPEAKER_02Um the new limited edition Ken Wheeler uh Tidy Whiteys, or are you gonna say that?
SPEAKER_03How did you know how did it? So this came from Kansas City, Missouri, and it was addressed to PRS Wheeler. PRS Wheeler.
SPEAKER_02Oh what is that?
SPEAKER_03The Precision Rifle Handbook.
SPEAKER_02That's cool. Who did that? Frank Kelly. Well, isn't that something?
SPEAKER_03Isn't it? I um kudos to Frank for sending me this. Um he even signed it here in Crayon.
SPEAKER_02Crayon as a proper Marine. Yeah, I'm surprised he I'm surprised he got his name down before he ate the thing.
SPEAKER_03I, you know, I kind of glancing through it here and there. Um I'm gonna read it. Yeah. I I I mean PRS and Frank Gowley have kind of split ways in in the past, whatever. And I um I I I give Frank a lot of respect for all that he's done for the sport community and all that. I know that you know that we see differently on some things or whatever, but I'll give him the respect. And um, I think he sent that out of respect, I hope. And I plan on reading it. If um I ever write a book, which I don't think I ever will, maybe that's my retirement plan, I don't know. Um I'll send him a copy if he's still alive.
SPEAKER_02The PRS memoirs.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I should start writing some stuff down. Yeah, you should.
SPEAKER_02All the all the of all the behind the scenes drama.
SPEAKER_03Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Spill all the beans. Oh man. When you when you retire, not before.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. But yeah, if we ever sell the company, I'm sure that memoir could never be published, you know. Yeah, that's probably part of the deal.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, yeah. I I'm sure there's a lot of good info in in uh Frank. I mean, he's in that book. He's he's been around the precision rifle world for so long now. It's like Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I mean, it was the PRS was born on Sniperside, right? Um, and and Sniperside was around probably 15 years before the PRS, you know. I don't know. I don't know what you know how long that's been around, but um yeah, I I have respect for for Frank and all that he's done, you know, and what he's been a part of. Um obviously some of his recent statements I maybe don't agree with, you know. I think he does it intentionally to rub me, but whatever. That's fine.
SPEAKER_02That's interesting. Wrote about it. It's pretty cool. Good for him.
SPEAKER_03It is. Yeah. Um, show off her new website here. No, I have to have you noticed this? Have you been to Pierre S? Okay.
SPEAKER_02I have noticed it. Yeah. So it's so sleek and it is.
SPEAKER_03Brit Brit Tin Cup Um did a fantastic job with with the the branding and everything here. Um she's she's a really good creative personality person, all of it. Um yeah, own of the uh here. But if you notice, like this is very much directed to that new to the community type person, right? Learn more, find matches. Yep. Um we're still getting through we're still getting through a bunch of bugs on this. Um and we gotta add back a bunch of content. I've been asked like, hey, where'd the top 100 go? Um I'll I'll just give them a shout-out. Keith Rudisell asset. I think he probably is keeping track of where he's at on that and making progress. Um so uh yeah, that stuff's coming back. We're actually we have a Hall of Fame page coming um that'll include the top 100, but then also show you know golden bullet winners, probably top 10 bullet winners and all that, you know, probably trophy winners from every year that we did this.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Um, but uh yeah, there's a lot more content coming. Um stuff is here, you gotta kind of know where to look for it. Um, one of the things Born Good, that was a good podcast. I don't know if you listen to that one. That was good.
SPEAKER_02I I have I've about made it about halfway through. I still need to finish it.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that was another long one. Um actually, if I click on learn more, and then I'm just gonna scroll down to the bottom. Uh Pro and Regional Rules. This link here works. We're getting it updated everywhere, but um and then yeah, Rempire Rules is also here. So um yeah, stuff's coming together slowly but surely. So yeah, love the new look. Thank you. Um yeah. So uh I guess with that, we want to bring out a couple match winners here.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, let's talk to them fellas. Yeah. Learn about their experiences.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, maybe we go join.
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna I'm gonna walk away while Bushman's talking. I already know what he did.
SPEAKER_03Um, yeah, I mean he's probably gonna talk a lot. You just want to sign off? We should both sign off as soon as he joins and then just let the thing record.
SPEAKER_02And then once we'll just start another one to pick up from there.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, exactly. Exactly.
SPEAKER_02No, he uh he shot a he shot a really great match. And uh yeah, we actually ended up with a wow, we'll get into it. We'll get into it.
SPEAKER_03Has he won the Punisher before?
SPEAKER_02I believe this is his second time. Yeah, but Nutton is is classically good at winning my matches.
SPEAKER_03I could see that. I mean you run a very straightforward type of match.
SPEAKER_02I mean I think I I think I can take credit for building his world champion. Building a world champion because he, you know, he's always been such a loyal shooter to me that uh that he's structured his his skills specifically to to my uh my tendencies as a match director.
SPEAKER_03I mean that's why he does well.
SPEAKER_02I mean I mean he he did get started shooting my KPRC matches for the most part.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. So I mean take credit where credit is due. If if you were if you were a new shooter out there and you wanted to become you know a national or world champion, uh I would learn how to shoot your matches because you've match directed a world championship, a national championship, like um chances are you'll get more. Oh, Dan. Hey can you hear us, Dan? Hi Daniel. Hey, can you do me a favor? Do us all a favor here. Actually leave and come back in landscape mode instead of portrait.
SPEAKER_02We're gonna leave it in.
SPEAKER_03Oh yeah, don't edit that out. Exactly. Exactly.
SPEAKER_02Still a gorgeous view of his mustache and smile.
SPEAKER_03I I am I am trying to model mine after his, honestly. Like he's got a it's a high standard. It is.
SPEAKER_02I don't know if I could put Oh for sure. I think my must I think I'd really look like a cop bad.
SPEAKER_03Any interest in doing it for worlds? Are you gonna be down there?
SPEAKER_02I am not sure if I'll be able to squeeze the time in off time off worlds.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I won I won I I I haven't committed to it. I want to do my best to make it down, but um we'll see is the best.
SPEAKER_03We'll see.
SPEAKER_02Are we gonna start like a mustache brigade? I might I I've I've lost a decent amount of weight by the by September. I might have another.
SPEAKER_03I'd be ready to show your chin.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. It might not just look like a white fat ball. Oh my gosh. Yeah. Yeah, I'm down to like I don't know. Depending on where you start counting, I'm down like over 30 pounds.
SPEAKER_03No kidding. Good for you, man. Good for you.
SPEAKER_02Getting somewhere. Just stopped eating junk.
SPEAKER_03I wish I could stop eating junk. Yeah. There he is. Now he's looking better than ever.
SPEAKER_04We used to only you you wanted portrait before. Now you want landscape.
SPEAKER_03No, I don't think I've ever asked for portrait.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_03No. Good to see you, Dan. Man, how are you? Good. How's it going? Yeah. Good. Good. You had a good week uh last week. Bushman's gonna join us too here, but we're gonna we'll continue talking shit about him and uh and and talking good about you. Um you had a good week. You were yeah, you were up in uh British Columbia for the MDT mid-summer. Yeah, and then and then stuck around for another week.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, yeah. It was a long week.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Yeah. Tell us about tell us what you were doing for another week up there.
SPEAKER_04Uh John and I, well, I drove to John's place um in Oregon that we rode the rest of the way. Um and because we had some filming to do after. But yeah, it was just I don't know, it was one of those those trips that like you just forget how to just, you know, think, I guess. And you know, we just like we were supposed to show up uh for some other like RO training or something, I think Friday morning, and we just like man, we got to his buddy Ben's place in uh Bellingham at like you know, super late. So we slept in and it was like, we don't gotta do anything, we're just chilling. Uh yeah, so we stopped in Chilback, had some food, um, took a long lunch, and then uh yeah, we got to the match and yeah, what's that?
SPEAKER_03It showed up later.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, because like you know, Ryan and other people were texting us, like, hey, where you're at? We're like, I don't know, we're three hours out. Like, what like why? We just need to be there before dark. Um, anyways, yeah, it was it was fun.
SPEAKER_03So you took that relaxing uh attitude right into the match and cleaned house there, bud.
SPEAKER_04Kind of the Morgan King attitude of just like, you know, we just forget how to do anything other than shoot a rifle. So yeah. Um I guess. Uh yeah, we yeah, no, it was a good match. I it was funny. Like on Friday we were shooting, and and my rifle shot pretty well. And I shot, I was shooting those new 120s, but I mean, and it's funny, like Bushman died. Yeah, we've been testing them for a while. Um, and I had enough to shoot a match, and they were shooting good out of the rifle. So I was like, I'll just shoot this. And it was um, I already had them loaded up because I had shot two hunter matches the two weekends before, so it was just non-stop. I was pretty tired. And um yeah, brought it up, it shot really well. Even John was like, John saw how well it was shooting. He's like, dude, you're gonna win this match. I was like, uh, I was like, I'm just trying to uh I'm just trying to finish this match at this point. So um, but it was fun. So yeah, rifle shot good. You know, it was just one of those days where or those weekends where you know everything was clicking pretty good.
SPEAKER_03So is is this the first match that the 120 has won?
SPEAKER_04Uh I guess. Um, if Pro Series match, probably. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Um I don't we'll confirm when he gets on. I don't think he was shooting the 120s that Punisher.
SPEAKER_03He's shooting 109s, probably, I bet. I think he was shooting 109s. Yeah. Were you shooting him out of Dan, uh Dasher? Uh GT. GT?
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Okay. It was one of the one of the barrels that I chambered up in a GT because we were testing them in different calipers. So I test them in everything from a dasher, GT, six creed, different twists, and um that that thing just that rifle shot so well. So I was just like, I'll render it still.
SPEAKER_02You're gonna reveal the the recipe to the to the sauce? Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Uh but uh well, I bet according. Well what can you yeah, thirty-two grains of varget?
SPEAKER_04No, actually, um when I was testing a Vargas shot good too, but 4350 shot so so well, like everything was just one hole and shot good at distance. So um my my load is not kale approved because uh I was running running way too little powder to make the speed that I did, but probably because according to his new um chrono data, you know, I'm just not managing recoil well, so my speeds are probably higher than what they they really should be.
SPEAKER_02What uh what kind of velocity were you getting?
SPEAKER_04I everything shot really well, 2750 to like 2820. But um I was I was gonna run them at 2770 and then they kind of sped up. Um the barrel wasn't was fairly new too. So at the match I was I was at 2800 and kind of just stayed there. Maybe it sped up a little bit by the end of the match, but um 2800, which um but like I said, I'll probably back them down at 2770 again. I don't know. I mean they shot good. So yeah, yeah. What uh that and that was that was 34 and a half grains of 4350. Um, but that was in Lapua brass. Um, and with alpha, it's you need about a half grain more. Um, there's a little more capacity, so 35 grains. Yeah, but I rated up to 36. It's 43. Yeah. Um I do think so. The reamer that we use that made the our Rubicon Precision, he's the local guy that um does all of our stuff. Um, it's one of the original reamers that we did for the GT back when we were helping George kind of develop it and uh Boo and I, and um I think it's probably on its last leg because like I don't think my free bore is what it what it should be. So I might be a little bit short. So I think my velocity numbers to powder ratio are probably a little bit higher than what other people get. So I'd say like 34 to 35 grains should be pretty good for most people. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Did you run uh a seven and a half or a seven?
SPEAKER_04That was a seven point two oh.
SPEAKER_03That's a George thing. That's a George thing.
SPEAKER_04Oh, it's uh well that that was uh from Bushman. Yeah, because we were we wanted to I wanted to see kind of where they started to like fall off of or like where they would shoot at because I wasn't sure if they would even shoot and I didn't want to go full 7-0 because you know I would I'd run another bullet in the rifle if if they didn't shoot well. So but I tried them in a 7-0. Uh Bushman tried them in a 7.1, 7.2. He's tried them in more. I so I tried them in a 7.0, 7.20, and then a 7.5. So I've tried them in almost not everything that Bushman has, but a lot of different stuff. So yeah.
SPEAKER_02Ken, I just uh thought of a a brilliant marketing strategy for you and just put this segment of the podcast behind a paywall. Talking about talking about all the specifics for the more 120 recipe.
SPEAKER_03We could we could probably we could totally monetize this this show. We I'd probably earn $25. I bet we get that many people, you know. Just anybody who doesn't have Bernicchini's phone number, you know. Oh, dude.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, don't give um charge.
SPEAKER_02We giving out his phone. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04And Bushman and I pretty saw very similar results. Um, and he could speak on that too, but we were going back and forth on what we saw. But uh I I think the BC might fall off a little bit the slower you go and twist. They still shock good, but um yeah, I mean, like I said, I I just they they were it was like the magic sauce for the 7.20 barrel for me, the CRB. So yeah, I mean it shot so freaking good.
SPEAKER_02So what was um what were the wind conditions like you're shooting at the match? I started my match, yeah.
SPEAKER_03What was it like up there?
SPEAKER_04So Friday was pretty it was honestly calm. It was it was calm, not calm, but like I'd say the wind was going like anywhere between three to ten, but it was just switching. Like that we were we were shooting in similar direction of fire all weekend, maybe like a 90-degree pan, depending on which end of the range you were at. But um it was just like going back and forth between shooters. So I'd get up and I'd need to hold left, and you know, maybe John get up, he needed to hold right, and it would switch like as you were shooting. So um so it was just switchy. I would if it was more consistent, probably it would have been a little bit easier. But man, those targets were not very big. I will say that.
SPEAKER_03Like every and that's what you only missed 17, man.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, but and some of those were shanks too. Like I just shanked a few shots here and there. Um, but you know, people were having elevation issues, especially with some angles, and um, because we were, I think the highest degree of fire was maybe like 15 degrees, but um there was some updrop updrafts and whatnot. Um, so some people were kind of flying over targets. Um but the targets weren't very big. I mean, which Ryan kind of, you know, Ryan and Josh, they planned it accordingly. I mean, I thought it was per I thought it was great. Um because every stage was a challenge. Like there was no easy shots. I think the easiest stage was maybe on the first day, the first stage of the first day for us. And I wasn't even gonna say it's easy because it was off a barricade, but the plates were probably the largest ones we shot of the match, and they were like only two MOA, but we were just shooting into the sun, so you could barely see them. And if you missed, you just had a guess where you were correcting. But um no, I was I loved it because it was tough. Like I said, every stage was a grind, and it was also stressful because they were filming us. Um, MDT was filming us, and I was I was having to check scores to give like updates for the you know, so I was just it was just You constantly were saying, like, yeah, I'm still in the lead. Yeah, dude, it was it was tough. Like, because we were between myself, Chase, and Noel, um we were all within a point like for most of the match, and and every stage you got up to, you're like, dude, I can't drop any, but also you could easily drop half the points on the stage. So yeah, it was fun. I liked it.
SPEAKER_03So what when is the video gonna be produced from MDT? When does that come out? We get to watch it.
SPEAKER_04I don't know. They usually maybe like I'd say one to three months, I guess, on the match videos. Um, yeah, they'll do it like they did uh war and uh and lead farm.
SPEAKER_02So yeah, yeah, I really love those those vlog style uh match coverage that that they've been doing. It's super cool.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, yeah, and you'll see, and I was just straight like because it was you know, they were filming before and after each stage. I was like, dude, I'm a wreck right now. Like, I'm this is stressful. Um because every like I said, every stage you could easily drop a pile, and I and I felt like I had to clean every stage, and it was just it was tough. So yeah. Yeah, but it was fun.
SPEAKER_02Back to the to the to the 120s. Um I asked you what was the wind like, and I was I was I was trying to tie that into how do you feel like the extra BC? Like you noticed the extra BC, you noticed the extra gr grain weight, like was it easier to see, or did it just feel like everything was working like it should?
SPEAKER_04I think um man, like, especially probably the first day, most of the first day, and and some some of the second day, I I would say like a six BR would have been or a dash or would have been ideal because it was all about just precision and like I said, small targets, but it shot just with with all those. Um the one thing I did notice I was pretty centered up on everything for most of the most of the weekend, like elevation and windage wise, or or I'd make some small corrections and get centered up. So it was probably easier to see impacts a little bit better. Um I just the rifle just shot so well. So I mean, even if I was shooting 109s, I you know, I I think it would have been similar results, maybe just not as centered up. I yeah, maybe they they helped more on the elevation um consistency, you know, especially at distance and and with when other people were having more elevation issues, it probably just held a little bit better with the weight. So um I don't know. I mean, as far as like what I saw, the rifle just shot really good. Um I don't know how much they would have helped, you know, versus something else, but it it didn't hurt, obviously. So nifty.
SPEAKER_02If that helps no, no, I think that's I think that's good to hear. I I just could imagine that there's gonna be people listening that are gonna be asking asking all the questions. So yeah, that'd be they I think good feedback for yeah, yeah, clearly.
SPEAKER_04But it's nice right now, it's weird. Like some some years you don't have you know rifles that shoot as good as other years. And right now I have this rifle is shooting good. I have a dasher that's you know hammering a 6547, and then my 6'5 Hunter rifle. Like everything is shooting good right now. I mean, maybe it's all the CRB barrels, like, but it's it's crazy to have all these rifles just do what they should do. Because I'm I'm used to just like, you know, sometimes you just not struggle, but like you just have subpar, you know, stuff that shoots, and you're just like, Man, I hope I hope it's gonna shoot good today. Um, so I think half the battle is just that, you know, confidence going into the match, knowing that like you know, where you where you want the bullet to go, it's gonna go. So yeah.
SPEAKER_02Uh one of the the something that is excites me in particular about that bullet coming out, and you know, time will tell as more people get their hands on it, how much it's gonna improve in performance, but it seems like it's gonna be strong and it's just gonna continue to push you know other other manufacturers gonna come out with competing products, and it's just uh it's crazy how much uh the sport has changed over the over the over the years with how much uh technology has come along to improve performance, and it's just that's just another sign of it. It's just it's really neat. Really neat to see and be a part of.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, it is uh it and every time you're like, man, how how much better can it get? Like everything just improves, and they're little incremental improvements, but I mean they make a bigger difference for you know guys that really shoot a lot and and that notice the difference. Um it's cool, it's fun. I mean, you know, this technology on on the um like the broad scheme, like the whole industry essentially is changing, you know, every year. Um and it's it's it's fun to be a part of and you know it's fun to like get to get to experience all the you know the benefits.
SPEAKER_03So yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Yeah, it's just it's impressive to see all the the manufacturers and and companies involved in the sport and just how they keep managing to innovate and push things for it's like it's ridiculous how good our rifles shoot. Oh yeah, and they continue to get better. It's like yeah, 100%.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02It's it's wild.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, like I said, it's just I mean, I have four different rifles that just shoot so dang well. I mean, more than that, but um match rifles right now that are in the rotation that just I mean, I have no complaints about them, and it's it's crazy to be there. Um and the the standard of where we're at, even compared to where we used to be. I mean, the targets are so much smaller than what we used to shoot at five to ten years ago. And um your your rifle has to be just absolutely dialed, and then you know, everything else has to go right.
SPEAKER_03So you know, I saw that video that MDT published the other day, and it was uh Josh with a Mosin again, I think. Josh Bota. And he's talking about like, you know, what just 50, 60 years ago, maybe a little longer, 70. Like it was like the standard uh being able to shoot a man-sized target at a few hundred yards. Yeah. And now, I mean, the rifle systems we have are capable of a 10-inch plate at a thousand. Yeah. You know? It's that's just crazy to think. Orders of magnitude. Yeah, you know.
SPEAKER_04And I mean that's over hundreds of shots too, not just like a couple here or there. It's just like this rifle has to do this consistently. Um the other thing is like, you know, I just obviously it goes with with everybody, but uh, you know, you could produce a good bullet, but being consistent at when you're manufacturing it from lot to lot is probably more important to me than anything else. I mean, and everybody has has lots that don't shoot great, but like to be consistent and doing that time and time again, like you know, um, hopefully they could just those bullets stay like that because um that's I think I think that's more important to me than anything else. So because I've used other bullets that shot phenomenal, like and we and I've talked about it with other guys, and just like, hey, when this bullet came out, dude, it was the best thing ever. And then they got into the few lots of it, and you're like, I I literally burned up a barrel trying to get it to shoot um you know, a different law, and it just never shot the same. And so yeah, as long as that bullet can hold that lots consistency, I think it's gonna do well. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02So pretty cool.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_03Well, let's talk about let's talk about some of the picks that were made. Uh Beamer, you were part of this. Uh is Brian McLean, Clay Blackhead or Jeff Geary all on a show.
SPEAKER_02Somebody's number is lower.
SPEAKER_03Uh yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I squeaked it out.
SPEAKER_03You get the win here. Uh you you picked all top 20 folks. Chad Heckler in third, Corson Piper, eighth, Jason Alvis, 18th. That's one of his better finishes, too. Yeah. Uh semi-pro. And Drew Walder, 15th.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_03Yep. Burdichini, you were the one, two, three, four, five, sixth overall pick. And you went to Jeff Geary. Sick.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I mean, you should well, you should have been one of the first four, right?
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, my bad.
SPEAKER_03No, no, it's okay. I've never been twice by Beamer.
SPEAKER_02Well, Noel was definitely a hot commodity, you know. Yeah. He's he's second. He's been strong lately.
SPEAKER_03Yep. And Russ Rusty was the first overall pick.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, no, Noel was sh and he shock rate all weekend, too. Um, and that's like it was tough. I mean, we were all shooting different stages at different times, and I knew that like we all had to end on tough stages. Um, but it was just I was hoping the wind would pick up more um because I usually do well when when things get a little bit tougher, and I knew that that could create some separation, but yeah.
SPEAKER_02Um one of the things that impresses me is is uh how freaking strong uh pinch finished up. And you know, he hasn't he hasn't been shooting very much at all lately, uh it seems like but uh he just such a such a talented shooter that comes in. Kill it.
SPEAKER_04He would have and he was having some rifle issues too. Um he was having some elevation issues, mainly sailing high. Like we he was having some flyers and you know we were trying to work through that, but like he would have he if if he was shooting my rifle, I bet you he would have been up there with me for sure.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Yeah. What was it? Was he shooting a Creed bar?
SPEAKER_04He was shooting a six Creed, yeah. Just broke it in. I mean, just just it was like a last minute thing because um par for the course, but uh he shot great. Like it just he, you know, hit most of his misses were just high, and that he really couldn't do anything about it.
SPEAKER_03So yeah, yeah. Um also to note, um, I love putting these in here too. Unpicked, Luke Anderson, Nathan McDonald, and Nelson Nelson Drawitt. Droll it.
SPEAKER_02Um Marksman, unclassed marksman.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Luke, Nathan, Nelson.
SPEAKER_02Two marksmen in the top ten. I don't know how we're supposed to keep up with the marksmen, you know.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I it's wild.
SPEAKER_02I mean I mean it's it's amazing that the those guys are are shooting that well.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02But like as far as picks go, I'm like, come on.
SPEAKER_03You gotta kinda go with the sure thing.
SPEAKER_02Come on, pros and semi-pros step at us.
SPEAKER_04Chad shot great too. Like it was uh Chad, Chad, myself, and and John in in one squad, and then Patty and Drew and the rest of the boys in another. So we had we all had great squads, but but Chad shot shot great too. Um and it's always fun. I I love shooting with him, so yeah, okay.
SPEAKER_02But that was a good time.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, no, we had we had a lot of fun. Um we had a lot of fun.
SPEAKER_02We go ahead.
SPEAKER_04Well I was just I was just gonna ask um some questions about the course of fire, but if uh if you were finishing a thought, then no, I was just gonna say John and I camped because like I said, it was kind of last minute planning. Um and maybe that and the first night, it was I brought the wrong sleeping bag and it got really cold, so I didn't really get much sleep. I grabbed my quilt, like it's just for like the summer, anyways. I just grabbed the wrong one. Like I said, this we were just all last minute, and um maybe that was it.
SPEAKER_03I just yeah. You just slept there, like at the at the ranch?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, we were yeah, John just slept outside under the stars on a cot. Um I slept on on uh one of Ryan's uh wall tents, but like I said, it was just didn't get good night's sleep. Um second night I just wrapped myself in my puffy jackets and slept a little bit better, but um yeah, that was probably it.
SPEAKER_03So midsummer, mid MDT midsummer. What kind of temps are we talking about?
SPEAKER_04Um I think it was like 70, high 70s, low 80s during the day, and I don't know what it was at night, maybe even the 40s. It wasn't it wasn't extremely cold. It was just I just didn't perfect. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I guess for sleeping outside might be a little chilly. It's a little chilly.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, yeah. But yeah, weather was weather was great. Um it was crazy when we filmed on Monday, too. We filmed on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and I think it was Monday and Tuesday, the wind was ripping like 20 to 30. Um, if it would have blown that hard during the match, like scores would have been half of what they are right now. I mean, yeah, which would have been fun. I mean, we would have we were talking 50-60% hit ratio if it was ripping that hard. Okay, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it I it looks like by the scores that there's definitely some small targets spread around out there that were hard to hit.
SPEAKER_04Course of fire was like like I said, it was just a challenging there was no gimme stages. I mean, none. Um, which was fun. We we loved it because every stage, like you really had to think about what you're gonna do. Um, and I mean, really watch every target, you know, because the wind was shifting. Um and like I said, they weren't very big. And some of the targets, like if you missed, it was tough to see where where they were going. So you really had to focus on every shot.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. Yeah, I imagine this was just a straight up field match, no berms, maybe just the occasional dirt behind targets where they where they could find them.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, most of them are up on like the side of this mountain, this hillside. But like I said, depending on lighting conditions, depending on where they were, like sometimes you're not seeing where the bullets are going. Um, sometimes you are, and it's tough to like, or if it if it hits and it hits behind, you know, where it's kind of flat, it always looks, you know, especially when you miss and you hit the dirt and then you see kind of dirt rise up. Um, a lot of people don't look to see like that initial impact in the dirt and they think they're high just because they see kind of the dust kick up high. So a lot of you know, some of that was happening. Um, but no, I mean, like I said, just the it I thought it was great. Target sizes were great, but it was it was tough.
SPEAKER_02So I just had a thought, and we could do this. Uh it would be cool when we're talking about these like post-match debriefs with the winners, would be if uh we could get a digital copy of the matchbook to kind of scroll through as we're oh yeah.
SPEAKER_03That's a great idea. There you go. There you go.
SPEAKER_02But uh we finished that would be neat.
SPEAKER_04Let me see. So we finished on stage four. Um, and it was probably one of the tougher stage stages of the match because it was 44%. Yeah, it was um it was a KYL, so it was a four-target KYL, and then there was a confirmation target at like seven something, seven twenty. I can't remember the the yardage, but and we shot them off these barrels. So it I mean, it was just like you shot two shots on the KYL, then you went to confirmation, then moved to the next two on the KYL, then confirmation, and then moved and redid the whole sequence over. So it was just a lot of different movement, um, different targets, shooting KYL targets off of one bag off of a barrel in wind. And then the confirmation target was harder than even the the three-inch, you know, KYL target. So I like I said, I I went into the stage knowing that I could drop two points and win the match, but they still had a stage to shoot. I didn't, you know, I was just assuming they were gonna clean the last stage, both Chase and Noel. Um, so I knew I could drop two, but I knew that I could also easily drop like six on that stage. It was just it was just cra it was just a tough stage.
SPEAKER_03And you dropped one. Which shot was it?
SPEAKER_04I dropped one. It was um, I think it was my third, no, my second time around on the uh confirmation target because like I said, it wasn't very big and the wind just shifted. I needed a little bit more wind. Um, I was honestly surprised I hit the small KYL target both times. Um, but when I came back through and hit it the second time around, I knew like I had won it. So like instant relief. And I was thinking about just throwing that last shot of the KYL or of the confirmation. Confirmation. It w it would have been a baller move to just like put the rifle on target and just like look at the camera and pull the trigger, but uh that's I'm wondering. I thought about it. I thought about it, but I was just like, nah, we're gonna just be smart. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. But it would have been Yeah, get I mean, get pull on target, look and pull. Yeah, just end and D on the last time. That's what it would have been. Yeah, that's what it would have been. Yeah, yeah. Uh but and look and smile and then look back, right? Oh.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. So that once I I mean, like I said, instant relief, um, which was cool. But you never know. Even with the live scoring, sometimes scores can be off. Um, so which I I found out out at a at a Hunter match this year. So that's another story.
SPEAKER_03You've been uh a little bit on a roll. You won a hunter match, didn't you? Uh no.
SPEAKER_04No, not this. It's just on honestly, it's been all third places this year.
SPEAKER_03Um all third places. Okay.
SPEAKER_04Third, third on all my hunters, and third on an Idaho PRS, and then some other finish. I thought I was gonna finish third this last weekend too. I was just like, oh, it's gonna be years third.
SPEAKER_03So Noel and Noel and Chase. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So is this uh I I w we just looked at the new website too, and unfortunately, we don't have all the historical data published yet, but it's all there. Nobody lost anything. Um, like I noticed even during our conversation, Adam Williamberger reached out to Megan and I, like, there's stuff missing. Yes. New website isn't doesn't have everything yet. It's coming. It's all there. All the data is is good all the way back to end of 2011. So um we'd look it up, but is this your second process? Series match win, first one being Hornity.
SPEAKER_04Uh no.
SPEAKER_03Or no, third, because your first one is California.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I mean I've won a few. Well, and then like I said, I won NRL when NRL was Raised Gun series, and then um PRS, and they kind of all blended together, but you know, before 2020. So Yeah. Kind of the same deal. I don't know how many PRS I'm at. Um, but it's been a while. So it has been.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. I think Hornity might have been your last one. That was like four or five years ago.
SPEAKER_04That was a long time. That was back in Nam. That was a long time ago.
SPEAKER_03Man. And you're not you're not shooting Hornity this weekend.
SPEAKER_04No, I I wanted to um one of the the archery shop that I help out with um and do their website and whatnot. The one that one of the owners, he's going scouting in the Frankchurch wilderness um in Idaho. So basically, we have to like take a bush plane into this ranch and then horseback into the mountains, and then we're gonna spend about a week there just looking for mullies and and um elk for November, I think. Um and then if there's any wolves there, they're gonna get killed too. So um it should be a fun trip. And then do some fly fishing and stuff. It's on the middle fork of the Salmon River. Um I was just gonna be a scouting trip at first, but then one of the guys that was supposed to hunt in November dropped out. So if we see any good bucks, um, then I'll be back in November. So that's awesome. So that's that's taking precedence over the horny match. So it's gonna be a busy year hunting, though. It's that's good.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, exactly.
SPEAKER_02So busy.
SPEAKER_03Um man, I uh Beamer, do you want to text or Burtigini? One of you guys texts Bushman. Uh I mean I t I texted with him like two hours ago and said, Yeah, you know, you're gonna be with us. And he said, Yeah, I don't maybe my texts aren't going through, but if we could get him on. He said, Yeah, it was a couple hours, well, it was three hours ago now. Uh he's just waiting.
SPEAKER_04He's just waiting for your texts.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02I just I just told him, get on the podcast, nerd.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Maybe this is where we're gonna find out his kid was like outside swinging and broke his arm and they're in the hospital or something, you know, and we're gonna feel like trash for it.
SPEAKER_04But he's gonna be me, me like in Canada just frickin' you know, brain dead. So it could be.
SPEAKER_02There, I don't think there's any circumstances that would make me feel bad about Colin Bushman a nerd. Oh no.
SPEAKER_03Exactly.
SPEAKER_04Um but on that Mosin, uh, you know, that Josh did, we did film with it. We I you know, I did some offhand shots with it, which was way better than the rifle that I shot for that other video.
SPEAKER_03So the the than the precision rifle that you did? Yeah, it was just it was bad. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04It was just so and that the balance was so bad I had to shoot it a certain way. And um anyways, this Mosin was way better to shoot. So better. And you shot it off, and can you give us a spoiler? Um, we did uh the one video we did, it was myself, um, John, Drew, and Patty. And basically they had the Mosin, I think they had an SKS, they had the one um MDT rifle that's bolted into a two by four. Um they had what else did we have? We had this um, it was a pretty sweet lever action, but it was like a super like stooped up lever action, and then there was something else. Oh, it was like a 270. Um, that thing was probably the worst thing to shoot. But anyways, we we all drew we all drew sticks on who was gonna shoot each stage with what rifle. Um, and it was just a video on that, which that that should be pretty fun.
SPEAKER_03So okay. Okay.
SPEAKER_04Just a fun video.
SPEAKER_03Everything you guys do is pretty entertaining. I love it.
SPEAKER_04Hopefully that that one gets edited out well.
SPEAKER_03So uh all right, let's talk Punisher for a minute. Maybe maybe Bushman will race us with his presence. Uh if not, then that's okay too. Um we can keep talking trash. Probably better off. Could be. Yeah. Um we got your matchbook here. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yep.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_04It'd be fun. I mean, it'd be cool if he jumped. Sorry to interrupt. It'd be cool if he jumped on here to talk about the 120s too. So it would be good. It would be good.
SPEAKER_02I also sent Ryan a text and asked him if he had a PDF he could send you for the the MDT match.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Yep. So Bushman Bushman tied for first year, right? Obviously. Three-way tie. Three-way tie. Dale Rhodes, Nathan Tungate.
SPEAKER_02Um, the the scores were extremely tight the whole match at the top, and it was a lot of fun to watch.
SPEAKER_03So stage 11, right? And I should actually be results. Yeah. Stage 11. And then look at stage 11. Let's see where Morgan King got the night force uh win there.
SPEAKER_04Oh, that was pretty quick in 40 seconds.
SPEAKER_0346.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. He shot it. I watched him shoot it. He uh he shot that. I think I might have actually got a video of his run. I can't remember.
SPEAKER_03That would be a great time to have that.
SPEAKER_02It would be, but I can't I don't want to look through my phone and how how was that?
SPEAKER_04How was that one set up?
SPEAKER_03Oh, hold on. Uh yeah. We can yeah quickly.
SPEAKER_02We can quickly show that as you said. Stage six was it? Stage 11. 11. Stage 11.
SPEAKER_03Gonna be impact almost there.
SPEAKER_02There we go. Yeah, just the big small. Yep, okay.
SPEAKER_03400. Yeah. Big small. Were they actual big small?
SPEAKER_02Yes, sir. Yes. They're regulation eight inch, six inch.
SPEAKER_03I know that people some MDs that haven't necessarily followed regulation.
SPEAKER_02I did throw one one slight curveball at him, and I put the big on the right. Yeah, it does not specify. Just to just to screw with everybody. Just mess with people's patterns.
SPEAKER_04But I think I think we shot, and then that it's funny. At mid summer, there was just two same targets, but different. You know, there was a sp a pan, a pretty good pan, too, and it was right to left as well.
SPEAKER_02So instead of left-right, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Big pan. Yep. Um uh he was actually ninth on that.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Yeah, he's he had a he had a solid time.
SPEAKER_03Uh yeah, 6150.
SPEAKER_02But Bushman and Morgan were in the same squad. So Bushman, Bushman just shot it to clean it. He didn't try to go fast, but you know, he was efficient.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02But then Morgan was like, what's on the he's like, what's the prize? Is it a cert or is it a scope? I was like, it is a NX6636. And he's like, Alright, I'm going for it. I love it. I love it. He was already he was out of contention for the the top spot at that point. So he he was willing to be a little bit risky and go fast.
SPEAKER_03It uh it and it looks like Dale he he finished it, he had the slowest clean. 96 seconds.
SPEAKER_02He he shot it at a senior pace.
SPEAKER_03He shot it at a senior pace, exactly. Yeah. Um and and then I'm assuming Tungate dropped one.
SPEAKER_02He he dropped one.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, there you go. And 75 he spent 75 seconds and then dropped one. Come on, man.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. I mean it was easy to do. I don't remember what I don't know. I think n I think Nate would have shot it on uh day one in a typical Punisher fashion. We had uh we had a a tailwind that was not it was pretty light and variable on day one, and then on uh on Sunday it flipped around 180 to a headwind blowing like 20 mile an hour plus.
SPEAKER_03Oh boy. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And the temperature dropped, you know, 30 degrees.
SPEAKER_03Oh boy.
SPEAKER_02But uh it was it it kept everyone on their toes.
SPEAKER_03For sure.
SPEAKER_02It was fun. But uh Nathan, I I I was you know, super happy for Bushman and and Dale to finish up how they did. But I watched uh Nate, he had he had some really tough stages at the end of the match and just shot super strong on the last couple of stages. Just it cleaned my stage one, which was a which was tires, which had uh a pretty yeah. We can take a look. Take a look at stage one of this new segment, the corresponding debrief sponsored by beamer matches. Um but uh yeah, I had a coyote 520 that was pretty skinny, and then a pretty decent sized turkey uh at 622. 637? Or yeah, excuse me. B B20, excuse me.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, five positions.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, off tires. And uh I watched Nate, he um that was his second to last stage, and he was like he asked the RO has anybody shot this with a tripod rear? Because people were, you know, the tires are they got a little bit of bounce to them. There was uh several different options of how you can shoot the stage, but some guys were you know using a bipod on on a lot of positions, and other guys were just bagging it, and he chose to shoot it uh with uh a front plate bag and a tripod rear. And he was just so locked in and smooth running through the stage, just cleaned it. And I think that was the lowest scoring my my lowest hit percentage stage of the match. Let's take a look. And he uh shot like a boss. It was really cool to see. And then he had uh download report he had a long-range troop line to to finish up, and you know, like there was just there was no room for error at dropping any points at that stage of the game, so it was really cool to to see him hang on and uh 56% on uh stage one, seventy-two on the second one, which uh was a medium stage, I guess.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02But you know, reached out to 900 plus, so easy for the wind to to knock you off plate, doesn't take much.
SPEAKER_03I do like the 10 of 10 on everything. Right? Yeah, average score and average percent, exact same.
SPEAKER_02Yep, yep.
SPEAKER_03That's the way it should be.
SPEAKER_02I you know I that's the way I prefer to to set up my course fires. I just like ten round stages. I just like every stage you've got the s the same potential of points to earn. But or lose. I risk or lose, yeah. But and I tried to keep everything, I mean you can see the the average score is pretty uh pretty even across the board for the most part.
SPEAKER_03Six or seven, yeah. Yeah, so almost eight, almost eight and five and a half, yeah.
SPEAKER_02I tried to make every stage challenging to clean, you know what I mean? And uh that's that's just my preference as a match director.
SPEAKER_03What's up with this 182 no shots on Bartline Punisher Barricade?
SPEAKER_02Uh that was a 10 position. That's gotta be right a little bit with a little bit tricky barricade to navigate.
SPEAKER_03That's it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, so there you go. Um so there were seven positions available to make ten positions out of. So depending on yeah, I just left it. It's like these are your positions that you need to use. You know, I omitted some of the you know, that one on the left below the left the left eye, that one's a little bit cramped, and you ding ding your scope up or something. And I I don't really like making people shoot off of the the skinny sheet metal on the eyes and the nose hole. But I like to I just here's your positions, use all of them, and then come up with uh the remaining three to make ten. So it gives people options and strategy and you know, ten positions to people look that's a cool people looking prop.
SPEAKER_03That's a uh the Punisher logo is so cool.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. We like that one and our PRS barricade both got the skull on it. It looks cool.
SPEAKER_03Heck yeah. Uh seven oh here you go. Seven Hornady Rock and Rowro Ties. That and the tank trap toothstones are the easiest. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02So but not too much, not too much easier. That's what I I try to go for as a massive director is trying to keep them balanced.
SPEAKER_03Numbers are line here. Tank trap tombstones.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03312, 413, 514, Magum Bolt back, go to five positions, alternating from each tank trap and engage targets in following order, P1, and then P2, P3, P4, P5, okay. Yeah. So three 300, 400, 500, 400, 500.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. All those were about five to five and a half tenths wide on the target size. So not unhittable. But I kinda, you know, that's that particular stage I designed as a you know, it was the end of the end of the range before the city. Yeah, far right end. So and we ran 18 stages, so um, you know, I kind of designed that one to get in and get out for match flow too.
SPEAKER_03Uh Hornetti Rock and Railroad ties, so uh Ipsick and prairie dog at 413 and then an Ipsic and Prairie Dog at 403.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. That was a uh a 45% Ipsyc and uh like a about a five inch wide prairie dog. Kind of small.
SPEAKER_03So not a getting with uh with a big pan here or what?
SPEAKER_02Uh so basically that's set up to where the first position was off of like a rock slab. And with you can see how the berms are laid out, you can only see you can only see that berm. So the first position shot those two targets. Or the first two positions uh shot those big small targets, and then you move over to the railroad ties and they've got a a different angle looking a little bit towards uh a little bit more to the west, and you shoot shoot the 403 uh targets from those positions.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that's just a matter of that where those particular stage positions are at. You know, there's we've got a pistol berm and 100 yard berm kind of blocking downrange. So that's just the options that I have there.
SPEAKER_03Dan, have you ever shot Punisher? No, I don't think so. No, Kansas, you'd remember.
SPEAKER_04Was that was that where the the finale was at the one year? They were that was that was Twin Peaks.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah. Yeah, that that was Twin Peaks where we do uh Box Canyon at.
SPEAKER_04Got it. Yeah, no, I've not shot out there.
SPEAKER_02Uh I think uh Ryan just texted me back.
SPEAKER_03Uh he did. I yeah, we got another segment here. This is so that you know what you know what the problem with doing this is it's just more prep I gotta do on a Tuesday now when it seems like my Tuesday is. We don't got anything else to do.
SPEAKER_04Come on.
SPEAKER_03Oh my gosh. We're we're Dan, we have to finish the pursuit rules and and get the scheduled. I know. If we got time tomorrow to meet, like let's do it.
SPEAKER_02I know. I m Mr. Good Ideas over here. So don't don't do it if you don't like it. But uh I just it just seemed like it'd be something cool.
SPEAKER_04One thing I forgot to mention about the the match was target acquisition and like um, you know, really getting a good point of reference where each target was before you shot it and kind of know where to go with your rifle um was huge. Like I think a lot of guys kind of timed out because you know the targets aren't they're they're on a natural, you know, mountainside essentially, and um there there wasn't anything else to really reference, and everything looks very similar. So if you didn't have good point of references and and really shooting hunter matches helps with that. I think you know, guys that shot hunter matches did really well, and and other guys kind of, you know, sometimes they they just struggled finding that target on the stage and and timed out. So I it was it was cool in that aspect.
SPEAKER_03I my first time shooting Hornady PRC in like 2021, maybe I don't know, it was the second or third year of the match. Um man, I can't tell you how many targets I just didn't find, you know, and and that was only because that's the first time I've ever shot in conditions like that where it's like you're telling me the target is just anywhere out here, you know? And uh, and that was the first match I ever flew to. And I thought, you know what? My buddy Nate that's gonna that I'm meeting with out there, he's bringing a tripod in Binos. We'll just we'll just share. Yeah, that's tough. Big mistake. No, because I mean that's what I learned. Like you have to look through Binos, pick your head up, down, like like you're saying, Dan, you gotta have a point of reference before you get on a rifle, otherwise you ain't gonna find anything.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, you have to like a a and I when we teach, like especially or give like tips for hunter and stuff, like you gotta um, you gotta just find that point of reference with your with your naked eye, um, because that's where you're gonna point the rifle and get on the rifle. And and if you don't, if you only know that point of reference through binos, you're just gonna struggle finding the target.
SPEAKER_03So do you um do you find when you're like glassing for animals and stuff too, that you end up doing the exact same thing and you kind of do it subconsciously where you're you know, like you're like, oh, it's just to the left of that one pine tree that's kind of standing by itself or whatever. You know, like does your brain kind of focus on that?
SPEAKER_04It does. Um it does help with hunting. I mean, it depends on what you're what you're trying to look for. I mean, if you're really trying to pick apart a hillside, it's gonna be a little bit different because you're just looking for any little like horn or twitch or ear movement, I mean, in the brush. But um, for the most part, yeah, when you do find something or get on it, um, or when you're approaching an animal, or it I I definitely think it helps out. Um, and even glassing and stuff, you know, it definitely helps with that too. It just changes your mindset a little bit and you kind of get out of your normal routine. Um, so I I definitely think it helps with hunting.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Yeah. Man. Um one of the things I wanted to point out here, and this is the MBT match again. We're going back to that. The Grey Ops mover. I think this is the first time first time this mover's been probably put to use in a pro series match, maybe.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, it it worked great. Um I don't remember seeing any issues with it, which uh I will, I mean, I've just I guess I've just been shooting these matches long enough and running matches to where I hate well, I I don't know if I'll ever run a match with a mover just because I've seen you know nothing but issues, but this one seemed to work good. Um didn't really see there to be an issue. But dude, another well, that was like our second or third stage of the match, and dude, that thing was tough. I mean, it was not it was like a small bear. I guess it was like a cub. Um pretty sure it was a bear. Um it was tough because it wasn't super far, so it was it looked faster than it, you know, than it was going. Because normally we shoot movers maybe five to seven hundred, and this one was four something, and so it looked fast in the scope. You didn't have a lot of elevation forgiveness, so you had to be like on it, you know, when you you know, either when you're tracking it or trapping it. And it was that was not an easy, like I said, there was no easy stages, it was tough.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, and you dropped dropped one on that. Yeah, average score is 4.8.
SPEAKER_04I well after after dropping one, I was just like, I was happy. If you could have told me like, hey, you're only gonna drop one on this stage, I would have taken it before I even shot it. Like if they're like, hey, you get you get uh nine on the stage and you don't have to shoot it, I'd be like, all right, cool.
SPEAKER_03Next stage. So yeah. Yeah, it was tough. It's crazy the number of no shots here. Uh Mike Beamer between this and and Punisher, like we're in hundreds here of no shots. Was there like I guess target acquisition?
SPEAKER_04I I think two two factors. One, I think we had more newer shooters um at the MDT match. You know, you a lot of guys. From Canada. It was cool to see like all the new guys and like faces you don't normally see at a match. Um, so they definitely got a lot of guys from you know Canada that to shoot it. Um I think just the combination of newer shooters and then target acquisition was the biggest you know factor in that.
SPEAKER_02I got I got Austin Bushman calling me.
SPEAKER_03Oh I he told me he can't make it. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Oh, you're not you're not coming on, Bushy?
unknownNo, I'm not gonna make it.
SPEAKER_00I I got distracted up here at the house and I totally forgot about it, and then I've gotta go up to the office to where the headset and uh microphone and good internet is. And by the time I made it up there, you guys would already be done.
SPEAKER_02All right, either that uh you could do that or you could just keep talking into the the microphone that I'm holding you up to right now.
unknownOh, you guys miss me that bad, huh?
SPEAKER_02We're just we've just we've we've wrung Dan completely dry for anything he's got to offer. No, I'm kidding, I'm kidding. No, I'm kidding. He he's he's doing great, but we're just we were we were we were just looking forward to talking to you is all we were we were I felt bad.
SPEAKER_00I I I forgot about it and didn't I had I had but set my phone down and then uh I come back picked my phone up and solved messages from Ken and immediately remember.
SPEAKER_03No worries. Ask him about the 120s. Ask him about the 120s.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. What uh we want to know uh we want to know uh so Dan won his match uh shooting the Burger 120s uh at uh at the MDT match. Is that what you were shooting at Punisher as well?
SPEAKER_00No, it is not.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_00I was shooting 109 burger hybrids.
SPEAKER_02Okay, cool. What uh we so Dan kind of shared some of his testing and uh and some of the sauce that he's come up with on the on the 120s and what's working for him. I know you guys have been uh kind of talking back and forth on uh on recipes for this. Anything you want to share about that for the for the listeners at home that are dying to know?
SPEAKER_00Uh I've shot them in Six Dasher a bunch, and I've shot him in Six Creed a bunch. I think six creed is easier for a couple reasons. I think you get great velocity with it without having to like push pressure levels too high. And you don't run into any mag issues. All of the VR mags I had for Dasher were too short. So I was gonna have to search for some other kind of mags to run them in a dasher. They shot good in pretty much everything I've shot. But I also thought my 109s were shooting a little bit better and just felt more confident in those I know the punishers. Yeah, it it can get really tough with switchy wins, but it's not that long a distance, and I just figured 109s would be good enough.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Well, I mean you pulled off the win. So it was good enough.
SPEAKER_00It was good enough.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, there you go. Was this uh was this your second Punisher win that you've pulled off? Yes.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I won two years ago and three years ago. I tied with Ben Gossett when he won it. You beat me on the tiebreaker, of course, by many, many seconds.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, as as one would. As one would. Well, uh this is weird.
SPEAKER_03One more question. He's shooting Hornady. Yeah who's he picking to win Hornady?
SPEAKER_02Oh yeah, we need we need your we need at least one pick. We need one pick for uh for Hornady since you're shooting it. Who's it gonna be? Himself, Big Daddy Orgain. He he says Orgain, yeah.
SPEAKER_03He's picking Orgain.
SPEAKER_02I would pick Orgain over you too. The better Austin.
SPEAKER_00He's won it twice.
unknownTwice that I've been there.
SPEAKER_02I think Clay's won it twice too, maybe.
SPEAKER_01Probably.
SPEAKER_02Are you guys all squatted up together like a super cheater JTAC squad?
SPEAKER_00No, I think Orgain and Morgan, Dr.
unknownKing, are squatted together.
SPEAKER_00And uh Clay and I and Kale are squatted together a couple squads ahead of them. So they'll probably be running ahead begging for our win calls and whatnot. Uh you know, typical Organe Morgan stuff can shoot a match on their own and succeed. Yeah, uh that tracks.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I mean the their track record, I mean, it doesn't say anything about their individual skills whatsoever.
SPEAKER_00Especially when it gets windy. Those guys have been recently have been just meatball match type shooters only. And we know it's supposed to get pretty windy every afternoon there, and they're gonna fall apart. It's just inevitable. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04But Hornady's Hornady's tough. You need two eyes to win Hornady. So Yeah.
SPEAKER_02So Dan was just saying that Hornady's tough. You can't hear him. So this is this is where this segment comes to a close because we can't all carry together.
SPEAKER_04Tell him tell him two eyeballs are better than one at Hornady. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Dan says Dan says two eyeballs are better than one at Hornady, so you're at a distinctive disadvantage. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I've shot all of PRS with a disadvantage.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. You are probably the most talented handicapped shooter in the sport.
unknownOh, that's good.
SPEAKER_03Probably. It's great. Probably.
SPEAKER_02Probably. I'm not a hundred, I'm not sure, but probably.
SPEAKER_04At least the barrels he makes shoot good.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_03Because you only need one eye to look down a barrel.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. You know? They said that uh that uh you only need one eye to look down a barrel, so that's why you're you're uh doing doing good with making them things.
SPEAKER_00So they're not wrong.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, they're not. Alright, buddy. Well, thanks for thanks for calling in and uh congrats on the win at Punisher, and uh we'll look forward to talking to uh Austin Orgain next week after he beats me. Sounds good. We'll talk to you later.
SPEAKER_03Later, buddy.
SPEAKER_02Bye. Bye.
SPEAKER_03All right. Let's let's do this. Let's uh that was a good segment. Thank you, Beamer. And it sounded great too. The audio was perfect.
SPEAKER_02Good.
SPEAKER_03Let's let's do this. Uh let's talk Hornady. Um uh Berticini, you're gonna be a part of this. You've you've shot, you have won Hornady. Uh was it the first year? Did you win the first year of it? First year, yeah. Yeah, that's awesome. That's awesome. And uh shooting a seven Shahane, right?
SPEAKER_04Uh seven, uh yeah, 284. Sorry, yeah, 284 Shahane. I was shooting.
SPEAKER_03284 Shahane. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Not not like like, oh, I'm gonna bring it just because I had it's a lot, I probably told this a million times. I had it loaded for the night force ELR match, and I didn't make the match, and I was like, oh, I I gotta load it up. It's a horny match because I was shooting horny bullets in it. So just took it and close enough. Let's go.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Yeah. Yep. All right. So uh can can you guys see my screen here? Yeah, I can. Perfect.
SPEAKER_02Full screened ahead.
SPEAKER_03Okay. Um, and I got this is everybody that's gonna be out there. Um, you know what, Berticini, you go first.
SPEAKER_04I wish I was shooting it this year because like I said, I've got some rifles that are shooting really, really good. And I mean the last two years just I've seemed to it's been a struggle every time I go. Yeah. Um, but I'm gonna do we pick it in order um of like or just like any any top five guys who we think is gonna win it.
SPEAKER_03You're you're gonna pick one, beamer's gonna pick one, I'm gonna pick two, that's back to beamer, then back to you.
SPEAKER_04Oh, oh, we don't get to pick the same guy.
SPEAKER_03No. No, no, no. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04I'm gonna go.
SPEAKER_03Frick. Okay.
SPEAKER_04Um just just picking Austin or well, that's why I was I was between the two, and I was just thinking of who's been shooting better lately. I always I'm gonna go with Austin because yeah. Austin, which one better or gay? No, not Bush. No, Austin. Yeah, yeah. No, no, no, no, no, no. No, Bushman's not gonna win.
SPEAKER_02I think if we were if we were smart, we would all pick a a left-handed shooter for our first pick.
SPEAKER_03Yes. Yes. Yes. That is wild to me.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. And with that in mind, with all that uh crap I just talked on him, I'm gonna go ahead and pull Morgan. Since I since I talked all the crap on Bushman, it just wouldn't be right for me to make him my first pick.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I was I was thinking about Morgan too, because like he hasn't won it. I yeah, he'd be up there for me.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Yep. I I have to pick Clay as my first pick because I I feel like if I don't, as soon as this is published, he's gonna call me. Yeah, seriously, guy. You know? Um, and I like Clay. And I think I think he stands a good chance here.
SPEAKER_02So he does, he certainly does. Um and he's the he's the great right-handed hope.
SPEAKER_03I I'm gonna take Bushman as my second, too, then. Yeah. I feel I feel really good about that, having Clay and Bushman.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, man, this is there's a lot of good picks for this match, isn't there? There is. I'll go ahead and I'll go ahead and pull Kale. It's just he's he's just he's been shooting so freaking good this year.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, he's at 300. He's he's now out cockblocking everybody, I guess, or trying, you know. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yep. All right, Dan, who you got?
SPEAKER_04That that's who I was gonna pick. Um Kale. Uh, just because he'd be pissed if I didn't pick him, but be par for the course. Um, how do you have these ranked?
SPEAKER_03So this is all the pros. Yep. Okay. It goes down a little ways, too. Yeah, there's some good shooters here.
SPEAKER_04I'm trying to see who else is shooting it. Um, just go. Uh, I'm gonna pick Brady Allison.
SPEAKER_02Damn it. I that was that was gonna that wasn't my next intended pick.
SPEAKER_03He hasn't shot a hell of a lot, but I feel like this he could be really dangerous.
SPEAKER_04Oh, Brady could easily win it. Brady can easily win it. If he's on, like he can easily win this.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I can't remember what match it was just you know, a few a few weeks back, you know, after a long layoff, I'm pretty sure he still managed a top five or at least a top ten.
SPEAKER_03Well, we we can we're going into the technology.
SPEAKER_02Let's uh just we're going into the stats.
SPEAKER_03Let's check it out, Brady. I don't feel like we've talked about him enough. I don't know why. This is just there we go. All right. Uh go down here, bottom right, shooter profiles. He's probably the only Allen. Nope, there's probably Allen, yeah. And his his handle is Chuck Norris.
SPEAKER_02Chuck Norris.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Yeah. Um recent matches. Yeah. Parma. I think it was Parma. Yeah. Let's see how he did there. Uh yeah, he's fourth there. Fourth, yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04How do you finish up at nut crusher?
SPEAKER_03Yep. Nutcrusher. Uh looked like he had the 12.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. He's still solid. Yeah. Still solid for sure.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
unknownAll right.
SPEAKER_03NRL Grand Slam. We want to check on Hunter matches here.
SPEAKER_02Sure. Might as well might as well. Oh, team. I can't remember.
SPEAKER_0349.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Yeah. And that was a weird, that was a weird match. Uh, that's hard to compare.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_03I mean, that was hotter, hotter than Satan's Danis. I didn't even show up on Sunday.
SPEAKER_02And that's pretty hot.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. How about last year's Hornet EPRC shot?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. Let's see about the classical. The classic that there he is.
SPEAKER_03Top ten. Brady Allenson.
SPEAKER_02Didn't have to go for it.
SPEAKER_03I think he's a good pick.
SPEAKER_02Good pick.
SPEAKER_03Yep. Not that you can change it.
SPEAKER_04Is Kenny's not shooting it this year? I can't remember.
SPEAKER_03Sinosky. Man, I shot behind uh Ken Sinoski one of the years he won it. Um make sure I spelled that right. No, he's not there. He's not in here. Um I shot behind him, I think, in back-to-back matches. Uh just happened to work out with the spelling or whatever. Um, and I think actually both matches, it was Dave Preston, Ken Sinosky, Ken Wheeler. Um, Ken Sinoski won both those matches, fed me all the win calls, and I think the best I did was 50%.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_03That's awesome.
SPEAKER_02Uh all right, you got another pick, Dan.
SPEAKER_04I'm gonna go with I wonder if he shoot Mike Anderson.
SPEAKER_02Mike Mike Anderson.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Right here. Yep. Can we all right? I feel like I feel like we gotta do some scouting on Mike Anderson.
SPEAKER_04What that's insider trait, that's insider knowledge.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I don't know, Mike. I think he was one of the top tens at MDT Midsummer, wasn't he?
SPEAKER_04He didn't shoot midsummer, no.
SPEAKER_03Oh, he didn't. Okay, that was a different Anderson, I think. Um I should have looked there. Mike, how many mics are there? There we go. There you go. View profile. Rocky Mountain South, Desert Chaos, Hurricane, he was sixth, snake river, he's 13th. Yeah. Yeah. He always shoots California.
SPEAKER_02Both solid.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_02Good pick.
SPEAKER_03Maybe. Maybe a great pick.
SPEAKER_02Maybe I mean it takes.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, what are my what are my odds? Like, what do I win?
SPEAKER_02It's a game of it's a game of cumulative low score that we've created.
SPEAKER_03So exactly. Exactly.
SPEAKER_02We got a lowest average. Um, where was he? I just I had him picked out.
SPEAKER_03Justin Watts. Justin Watts, your guy. Take him.
SPEAKER_02Um, no. Oh wow. Wow. Justin Watts has got to prove himself to me. Uh God dang it. I just had him scroll back up. I had him picked out, and then I forgot.
SPEAKER_03What about what about the Baffus guys? There's Brandon and Mason. You remember those guys shooting while up in Canada? I think they're Canadians.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03See, here's the thing. And I'm going to take a little tangent here, but there are semi-pros are unclassed, probably Canadians. I bet there could be two in the top ten that we aren't going to pick. And they've we probably have not picked them before because we just don't know the name, and they're going to become unforgettable here.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_02This is also a game of reputation. They gotta they gotta earn our earn their infamy.
SPEAKER_03And these guys are gonna have like top ten after top ten after top ten, and we're just gonna keep turning our head. Yeah. You know?
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Well, if we don't know them, we don't know. Oh. It was Luke Anderson that was at MBT Midsummer.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_03Um, look at this. Pun I wanted to point out too, Punisher. The six, seven, eight, nine, ten guys were unpicked.
SPEAKER_02Look at that.
SPEAKER_03Three semi-pros unclassed and Seth Siemens.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Anywho. Alright. I'm sorry. Anyway.
SPEAKER_02Um scroll back up for me one more time, please. Uh oh, Corson. I think I was like, Corson Piper. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that's that's okay. I'll do that. Okay. Corson.
SPEAKER_02What are you doing with the spreadsheet? Yeah. What are you doing with the spreadsheet, Beamer?
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I don't know if you caught that segment of uh Yeah, it was three, four weeks ago.
SPEAKER_03It was good.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. It was me failing actually.
SPEAKER_03Um Jacob Denny, I feel like, is one of those low PRS numbers, right? Like he's sub 100.
SPEAKER_04He's I think he's single digits, I thought. Or maybe he's not like Vogue. He's gonna be like 50, I think. I can't remember what his number is. Way low.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Yeah. Like wo yeah. OG of OGs. Um man, there are there are some really good shooters here. I mean Wade Studiville, gold bullet winner, 2012. Um but knowing Hornady and how how tough it is out there, I'm a little like it it it takes a different style shooter, doesn't it?
SPEAKER_02Definitely uh I would expect people to be, you know, dropping shots left and right out there, so you're gonna have to stay mental mentally tough to you know if you get a seven on a stage, that might be a really good store on the score on that stage. You gotta keep your head in it and not uh just break it down to every every single shot.
SPEAKER_03Yep. Man, I I got two here. I think first I'm gonna take I'm gonna take Chris Offer.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03And I'm gonna take Gage Caples. Yeah. I I I think Gage will do really well here. I have a hard time believing this is his first match win. That'd be crazy if his first time winning it ends up being Hornady against uh completely stacked field.
SPEAKER_02That would be uh that would be pretty awesome.
SPEAKER_03That would be awesome.
SPEAKER_02Um I'm gonna go out on a crazy limb. I think Gage's first win is gonna be at impact precision, assuming he shoots it.
SPEAKER_03I don't think that's a crazy assumption.
SPEAKER_02No, because he he almost had it last year. He was really shooting really good.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I'm gonna be there. I could I could get in the way. I could get in the way of him getting his first win there, you know.
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna I'm planning on getting one myself too, so that'll be fun.
SPEAKER_03Good.
SPEAKER_02I'd probably need to go ahead and sign up for that, actually.
SPEAKER_03You need to. All right. We're gonna we're gonna change the segment here real quick. Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_02We're just jumping, jumping around. This is the this is the all over the place.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, people were probably hitting that skip 15 seconds ahead right now.
SPEAKER_02Like just they're gonna have to skip forward and skip back.
SPEAKER_03They're gonna be 32 spots left for the Impact Foundation PRC. Yeah, yeah. 32.
SPEAKER_02Uh we sell that out, folks.
SPEAKER_03148 there, so 180 they're taking.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Woof.
SPEAKER_02It's gonna be a great match.
SPEAKER_03Will be.
SPEAKER_02Uh, all right. I'm gonna go Zane Kun.
SPEAKER_03Oh I did see him there. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02I could see your your your cursor was just zooming past him. I could tell you weren't reading his name.
SPEAKER_03Oh man, I think that's a really solid pick.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I think that's it's definitely fits his uh style of match that he does well at.
SPEAKER_03Oh, yeah. Yep.
SPEAKER_02Yep. Alright. Two more. Dan, who you got?
SPEAKER_03I'm gonna go Matt Hornback. Hornback, yeah. West West Coast guy. Just passed him. I know I I I know I keep passing him. Dang it. You just passed him again. What row? There it is. Right there. Thank you. Yep. Right, right there. Right there. You're pointing out. Right there.
SPEAKER_02You can't see, you can't see where we're looking.
SPEAKER_04And then I'm gonna go my guy Jacob Denny. You are going Jacob Denny. Yeah. I think he I think he's he has right, he's shooting good, his rifle's shooting good. I I I got a good they got a good squad. Um I think it'll be good. Okay.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_02Last pick. Last pick. Man, there's some really strong choices still left. Uh one that's a good one. I think I can shoot this.
SPEAKER_03I think what, Dan? I said I might be able to make this shoot. You think so? You think you can squeeze into this?
SPEAKER_02Are you gonna squeeze in? Are you gonna squeeze in? It's a Friday Saturday match.
SPEAKER_04Oh, it is. All right, let me think about it for five minutes.
SPEAKER_02We're making picks now. I tell you what, if you if you're if you're gonna go to the match, I'll pick you, Dan.
SPEAKER_04No, I'm I I as of right now, no, but I I forgot it was Friday Saturday, and I could definitely go.
SPEAKER_02All right, nope, no go, no pick.
SPEAKER_03I think it'd be I think previous match winners can just show up, too.
SPEAKER_02Is that how it works?
SPEAKER_03I think so. It's like the masters.
SPEAKER_02You just I don't that's sick.
SPEAKER_04That it should be that role. That'd be a great role.
SPEAKER_03I'd love it.
SPEAKER_02I mean, I don't know any match director that turns some.
SPEAKER_03Right. Because there's for everyone that shows up, there's five that aren't.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, exactly. Oh, let me, yeah, no. Well, I'll stick with my I'll stick with the pick that I was intending. We're gonna go Lane Shelley.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that's yeah.
SPEAKER_02That's row 14.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I I like Lane. I he's a hell of a shooter. I I have and I I don't know why this had this hesitation, but picking somebody from Kentucky to win in Utah, it's just like, oh man, it's gonna be tough for him. But Ken Sinowski's from Pennsylvania and he's he's won it.
SPEAKER_02I've I've seen Lane do real good in Wendy Field matches before.
SPEAKER_03So he's a damn good shooter.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Uh so up to me here, huh?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it is up to you.
SPEAKER_03Ooh, man, there's no really good names. You know, I wish Sean Haymore was here. I know. I would pick I I see Haymore and I'm like, ah, it's not Sean. Yeah. Yeah. And Robert's a good shooter too, but he's no Sean. No, Sean here I would pick, right?
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Yeah. I I see two names that uh that oh wait. Well, it's a good thing I didn't mention the names because I I just realized I was thinking of someone else for a while ago.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Jeff Badley? No. I've shot this match with Jeff like two or three times. Seems like every time I've shot I've been squatted with him.
SPEAKER_02Jeff's good dude. But shooting sports.
SPEAKER_03Sportsman. He's shooting a PPO. Oh no, he's shooting sportsman. I uh think of production. Yeah. Yeah. You know what? I'm gonna take Laurel Aikenhead. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. I I think I think she could she could do something stellar here. Um all right. Can we do one more bonus pick?
SPEAKER_02You want to let's go semi-pro pick.
SPEAKER_03That's what I was that's what I was saying.
SPEAKER_02Or mar yeah, semi-pro or marksman. Yeah we got we got any names that we recognize in this in this bunch. I mean there's definitely some in the semi-pro group for sure.
SPEAKER_03Yep. Uh you want to go first? Dan? Yeah, or beamer, you can you can pick one. Go for it.
SPEAKER_02Uh well, I mean, tech nah, let's yeah, let's just start over. Do one pick starting with Dan.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. I'm so bad with names. I'm so much better with faces. Like, if I saw a dude be like, oh yeah, this dude for sure. Yep.
SPEAKER_03Um I really don't even know.
SPEAKER_04Let scroll down a little bit.
SPEAKER_03Sorry, Sam, you got Sam Carlson in here. You know him, I'm sure. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Um actually let's go Ryan Jessup. Ryan Jessup.
SPEAKER_03Yep. And that's actually a good pick. That's actually a good pick, he says. There he goes. Okay.
SPEAKER_02I am gonna go to Garrett Stevens.
SPEAKER_03See, I think that's a solid pick, too.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Okay. I kinda wanted to pick. I kinda wanna you know what? Maybe we do another bonus pick. We all pick a Canadian.
SPEAKER_02They need like a maple leaf next to their name or something.
SPEAKER_03Oh, we got that. I gotta pick Sam. I'm picking Sam. Yeah. Um hold on.
SPEAKER_02So I wanted to I wanted to pick Sam too, but I got greedy. I think Garrett's had a a few bit a few better matches recently.
SPEAKER_03Probably, but I got Sam's back.
SPEAKER_02You do. You're better than I am.
SPEAKER_03He doesn't even sponsor my title match in New Mexico.
SPEAKER_02I I love you, Sam. I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_03Um all right, hold on. I'm gonna grab Hornity here. Let's we can view results.
SPEAKER_04We got five spots left. I got I got room. Five spots left.
SPEAKER_03Oh, oh, yeah, I uh you saw that. Yeah, only five spots. Just show up.
SPEAKER_02Just show up. Yep. You know you want to. Now you're thinking about it. Don't even show up. Don't even show up on Thursday.
SPEAKER_03Show up Friday morning. Like, hey, what squad am I in, George? I bet you could I bet you could make it sound like he's screwed up too. Like I George, I literally talked to you yesterday at check-in. I don't see my name here.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, they might even if I mean I'm sure they're they're out there already working on the match, so they don't have they don't have cell service, they don't have nothing out there. So just blame it on them.
SPEAKER_03So I only saw two Canadians, so maybe we can't do that. I saw Billy Redpath. Um dang. Yeah, there's yeah, we can't outpick Canadian.
SPEAKER_04There's no international right now.
SPEAKER_03There's a couple. Um uh I'm getting there. Uh Johan, South Africa.
SPEAKER_02South Africa. Yep, Joe Martin. Jesus. That's a good man. That's not that's not what he looks like, but he does carry, I think he does carry that spirit with him. Uh he was he was that punisher. And actually, just you know, something to to mention, he did something really cool. Um we had a side stage from Zeiss uh that they sponsored that uh was a fundraiser for a young lady that they were we were raising um funds for um for uh she was uh just is a friend of uh of Eric at Zeiss. Yeah, yeah. And we did a fundraiser and uh raised about almost three thousand dollars for it. And yeah, so the side stage we had like a tripod rear side stage that we shot on Friday, and uh the winner of the stage was uh Matt Sabotka. And rather than claim the tripod that he earned, he uh opted to raffle the tripod off um at the awards ceremony to ra raise more money. And uh Joel was the the the top bidder for the tripod, so that was that's awesome. That's cool.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, so so you kind of doubled down on the fundraiser then. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's cool.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that's cool, and it ended up being a good deal.
SPEAKER_03So Zeiss tripod is pretty crazy too. Like the way that it operates, it is yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Single a single twist to deploy like three three sections, it's it's pretty neat.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah, that's pretty sick. Yeah. Um yeah, we don't have a lot. Yeah, cal Cal Avine. Uh I think I'm getting that right. Billy Redpath, uh Arunas from uh Lithuania, and uh Andreas from Lithuania, too. Oh, that's cool.
SPEAKER_02Um I think I have one of their jerseys from the world championship.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I have one of their I'm looking at it right now. I got the Lithuanian patch they gave me.
SPEAKER_02Mine's hanging up in my closet.
SPEAKER_03There you go. There you go. Um, all right. Why don't we why don't we call it with picks there? Yeah. That's pretty good. We gotta each got a bonus in there. I like it.
SPEAKER_04There's a winner in there. Get like oh, 100%.
SPEAKER_03You don't think we left anybody out here, huh?
SPEAKER_02Uh I'm sure there'll be somebody that could sneak in the top ten that we didn't get, but I mean we left Brandon Hembry on the table. I know he was one of the ones I was buying that uh that you that you left on the table.
SPEAKER_03Uh I did, sure. I was the last one, yeah. Coulter Marriott. Coulter, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Coulter could shoot good. He he's had uh a couple good matches since he came off the old NATO potato.
SPEAKER_03Yep. Yeah, Justin Watts. Hopefully listen to this. He's so washed.
SPEAKER_02Justin. I'm sure Justin will have an interesting match.
SPEAKER_03He will. He will. And if it yeah. Yeah, he'll probably call me afterwards, tell me how Brian Sykes didn't let him get away with something. Probably. Yep. Man. All right, boys. It's been an hour and a half. It's been fun. It's good to see your faces. Dan, can we can we work on pursuit stuff tomorrow? Yeah, yeah. Um, yeah, you're gonna be loading ammo to go to Hornady, aren't you? I know that's just like dude.
SPEAKER_04I and if I honestly, if I didn't have to babysit this dude that's uh labeling some wine bottles, bro, I that's been a struggle. Um but uh yeah, no, we we gotta do it because I'm gonna be gone like out of service for a week. So I gotta get that done.
SPEAKER_03If we can meet tomorrow, that would be great. Tomorrow, I I'm actually I'm getting uh uh upper endoscopy. It's got a really long word for it, but basically they put you to sleep and then they throw a scope. I think they go through it, must go through my mouth. I don't know. I was asleep for the last one that I had like two months ago. Um, but I was out for like 20 minutes and it was honestly the best night's sleep I've ever had. I felt so good when I woke up. I can't I can't I wanted to keep sleeping, but I felt so good. Um yeah, so I'm having that tomorrow. Um but when I had it a couple weeks ago, it wasn't that bad. I took a nap on the couch. That was about it. So, anyways, hopefully, hopefully we can carve out some time. Yeah, finish up pursuit rules, go through some things, uh, get the schedule going. Um, but yeah, let's try to connect tomorrow, which is the day after or day before this releases anyway. But um, yeah, cool. Sweet.
SPEAKER_04Um, I'm still thinking about I forgot it was Friday, Saturday. This might dude. Oh, okay. We're thinking about it now. Well, there's a way. Get that 284 out. I gotta I don't even own one right now. Yeah. I stopped honestly. I the only reason I stopped shooting is because some bullets were not making to the target. Um and then the 156 burgers came out and I just started I just switched over to 65 Creed, but dude, that thing shopped so good when it did, like it was insane. So maybe we'll see. I don't know. I'm now I'm thinking about it. I got a 6547 that's hammering.
SPEAKER_03Like, dude. There you go. You got ammo ready to go?
SPEAKER_04Ammo ready to go, yeah.
SPEAKER_03No joke.
SPEAKER_04There you go. I got a ride, I got a hotel room that I could probably sleep on the floor of. So who's the ride there? Uh Jacob. Jacob and and probably Hornback. Jacob and so yeah.
SPEAKER_02Oh maybe we'll see you in the unpicked column next podcast.
SPEAKER_04There you go.
SPEAKER_03There you go.
SPEAKER_04Maybe we'll have another one of these conversations.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Yeah, I hope so. Well, it'd be two weeks from now because you're gonna be gone next week, but all right.
SPEAKER_01Let's wrap her up, boys.
