SPEAKER_06

Welcome back. This week's show. We bring on winners from last weekend.

SPEAKER_03

We have Keith Baker once Cheap Dog, and Ted Clark won out in South Dakota at THS. Hear about another win with the 120s and how I plan on winning a Nexus trophy at this week's Sack Sizzler.

SPEAKER_06

Love it. Stay tuned. Enjoy. All right, let's get this show started, Jeff Geary.

SPEAKER_03

Happy to be here, Ken.

SPEAKER_06

Dude, I'm I'm excited that uh it's you and I tonight. This and this is a combo I don't think we've had yet, right? Oh, definitely not.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. I was a little nervous about trying to carry you through this one.

SPEAKER_06

Well, I'll take all the help I can get, buddy. Um, I mean, updates on you. You were you recently shot Twisted Barrel, right?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, shot twisted barrel and actually shot shot pretty well, but yeah, as we were briefly talking right before then, my my preparation, I think I stayed in vacation mode a little bit long, and and and all of a sudden, matches coming up, uh, knock on the door, my 120 burgers have arrived. Yes. And uh I there was no way I wasn't jumping right into those. So yeah, immediately kind of got to to testing those a little bit and and found a load.

SPEAKER_06

Oh go ahead. Sixth Creed? I mean, most people have been running these in the sixth creed, right?

SPEAKER_03

It was a six by 47.

SPEAKER_06

Why'd you end up on that? Because you had probably had brass and you had everything. Yep.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I I th I tried to shoot one of those briefly last year and and shot it in a couple matches and and liked it, just didn't love it. So, but it seemed like a a very good combo with this particular bullet, or possibly the only combo I had on hand that maybe would would work with it. I I tried it in a couple of my dasher barrels uh at distance, just no good, no go there. So yeah, going a little bit faster. I've I was right at I found 2920 was kind of my my sweet spot. And uh they shot pretty good at my range and and went down to twisted barrel. And I tried not to shoot many rounds during tune-up day just because I didn't have quite enough loaded. I barrel life on this particular barrel was it's your first year shooting, so these kind of amateur mistakes.

SPEAKER_06

I'm gonna be able to do it. Amateur mistakes, amateur mistakes.

SPEAKER_03

And yeah, I I I just gotten another barrel from my gunsmith that week also. I threw it on Tuesday, so I'm leaving Thursday. So it was a new barrel, but I quickly got a hundred rounds on it. It was shooting good too. So I I basically had a bunch of ammo and those two rifles and just hit the road. Uh didn't bring the dasher that was hammering because I knew I'd be too tempted to shoot it if if there was a problem with with the current setup. And you know, it shot good. Any issues? Well, it shot good in tune-up day, but only shot probably 12 rounds long drive. I I just wasn't I wasn't feeling practicing that day. Uh to you know, Little Rock in the summer, not exactly fun practice weather. So yeah, I thought it was good to go. And then, yeah, early on Saturday, a couple rounds just just missed pretty far. I mean, the first one was it probably missed it by eight tenths or so. So I was ooh.

SPEAKER_06

Holy cow.

SPEAKER_03

That was that wasn't good. Uh, and then we had a couple more, a couple more, then did you make a correction on an eight-tenths miss? It was uh thankfully uh the last shot of that particular stage, so no, I did not make one, but I no, I did not make it.

SPEAKER_06

Did you go to the zero board after that? And I what?

SPEAKER_03

No, no, I the other rifle that I'd taken, I knew. Sorry, I probably should have said I knew during tune update it was not shooting. Bullets were literally just falling out of the sky. That was yeah, so I had suspicions that, oh boy, maybe we're right on the edge here. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Yep. Oh my goodness.

SPEAKER_03

And yeah, we just lost it, it wasn't terrible. I mean, I bet I lost eight rounds that just, you know, went wonky. But other than that, I I shot pretty good, but you know, I hadn't been practicing, like practice, practice. I've shot some the last few months, but I actually went and practiced well after I got done talking with Clay on this of a month and a half ago or whatever, and actually went and practiced. It's like, wow, I have not done this in forever. I'm really rusty, was my first uh first thought of how you can lose it that quick. Yes, yeah. Once I actually realized where where I was and what I was doing and and started thinking about the movements, the stability, everything that is just bad, I would say. But I'm I'm probably my worst critic, so I'd look at him, gosh, it was really bad. I still managed to hit targets, uh, thankfully. I mean, but my positional is where it it really showed. And thankfully, I mean, I I thought back the positional stuff we shot at KM when I won the callist match, it was they were big targets. So I think I I didn't realize how how degraded it had gotten until until you start shooting some positional at some smaller targets.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

And anyway, so it just yeah, yeah, I left that pretty hump. Pretty impressed by Tunget's performance and then pretty much. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, yeah, that was that was over pretty quick. So I mean you were 11th. Um you're down twelve. I shot good.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I shot good, and yeah, it was you know.

SPEAKER_06

Tunget one down seven.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, that wasn't in my I think I'd have been close to day. I feel like me and Derek shot pretty evenly. I think he would he would probably say that. We I maybe if I'd uh but that goes to you know preparations and just not being prepared and not taking but I wanted data on the 120s. I was thinking this might be a good option for gravestone. I I gotta find out. So if it costs one two-day match to find out, so so be it. So So be it. Um yeah, and funny enough, I got a seven twist barrel yesterday, and it seems once again though, at my range, it's shooting great. So, but yeah, I think this one'll be a little bit better.

SPEAKER_06

So it'll you have any opportunity to take it, shoot somewhere else, and I mean Well, I'm going to Cisco this weekend. Yep, okay. So you are you are gonna shoot the 120s again 647.

SPEAKER_03

I'm gonna take it. I my dasher is absolutely hammering right now, so part of me is like, what am I doing? But I I'm gonna take them both and we'll let them do a little head-to-head on train up day. And I it's not my choice, it's their choice. So I will let them decide who gets the start on Saturday. I love that.

SPEAKER_06

That's I love that. Um but yeah, looking forward. Yeah, well that's exciting. I I'm looking, I I don't I you know, when it comes to pick them for for Zach, like so do we pick Jeff Geary?

SPEAKER_03

You know, I I I could I could go there and shoot great, but I I think the odds and and uh I'll probably you know I think a tenth somewhere in there is a solid a solid spot for me.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Yeah, I don't I'm not I just don't think I'm I could win, but I just I don't feel like I'm quite ready. I'd put in the work.

SPEAKER_06

Sure, sure. How's the knee holding up, bud?

SPEAKER_03

Uh tweaked it a little bit on the rooftop down at it uh twisted barrel, those little rooftop, and kind of knelt on it, and it was been feeling really good. The fact I can even get in that position was was fairly impressive and just kind of knelt down a little bit extra, and I just maybe strained it is is the right word, but it's yeah, it's okay. It's still so much better than it was. Yeah, I didn't I I knew it was bad, but yeah, it's I can believe pretty normal now.

SPEAKER_06

Same knee that's just the same voice now scoped.

SPEAKER_03

I at least I've lost count, I've even stopped counting. Oh my gosh, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

But dang, man. We I I don't even remember. Oh, we were we we took a little vacation right after the fourth and uh did some hiking and stuff, and there was one day I was like 20,000 steps, 25,000 steps. And my right knee, which I had scoped the same time last year, the first time you had yours, or whenever that was, you know, whatever number scope that was for you, was awesome. And my left knee was a little bit it was achy. I'm like, oh man, like and the and the doctor told me too, he's like, you went the discoid, uh meniscus or whatever is like in my right knee was misshapen. He's like, it's been that way forever. Like you just you just finally did enough work to it that you noticed it and it hurts and all that. I go, well, is my left knee that way? He's like, probably. Like, okay, if my if I get if Missy and I get close to our deductible and it's after the finale this year, I am like full steam ahead. Let's get my knee scope before the end of the year. We'll see.

SPEAKER_03

That's yeah, that's fair.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. Yeah, and then I don't know, my mine bounced back pretty quick. I think I was it was probably about a hundred days before I felt like I could, you know, do all the work to it, you know, or be able to shoot and get in positions and not feel like it was straining and stuff, you know.

SPEAKER_03

No, I definitely remember it seemed like you were in Norway at some point shortly after because I remember being impressed that, like, wow, he did that. I was not leaving.

SPEAKER_06

That was a flat range, thankfully, though. That's good. That was yeah. But sitting on an airplane for that long, like it it did, yeah. Yeah. Gotcha. Yeah. Well, let's uh let's see if we can get Keith Baker on here. Um, I think he's shooting this weekend, too.

SPEAKER_03

Um, it did look like you brought that up, so he's gonna get a decent opportunity to go maybe a little back-to-back action. See if he oozes.

SPEAKER_06

I bet he's done it.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, oozes into place at Pancake Lake.

SPEAKER_06

What was that that he said he oozed into that was I got that image in my hand. I was like, oh, that's a great party that said that, right?

SPEAKER_03

That's a great, yeah, that's yeah, yeah. Yeah, he made a solid pick with old Rocco. He showed up. Yeah, Bushman put a lot of pressure on him.

SPEAKER_06

Oh yeah, Tony, Tony Rocco. Yeah. And he and he was he ended up being, well, yeah, Tony was third here. Um Kyle McGrogan, Tyler.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, it seemed like Tony made kind of a late charge on Sunday. I remember looking, he was he was down, I mean, like maybe down four or four or three, but then he went through a five-stage stretch where it was maybe down two or three in that five stages. It was impressive. Okay. Almost as impressive as Keys.

SPEAKER_06

That's what I was gonna say. Speaking of impressive, welcome, champ. Can you hear us? Yeah. Good? You can hear us good, yeah. Heck yeah. It's good to see you again here, bud. This is the second or third time this year now, huh? Second so far. Two wins?

unknown

Two.

SPEAKER_06

Second so far. Right on. What was uh what was the other match that you won? I suppose I get Alabama. Let's just see what you shot. Yep, that's right. Yeah, let's just see what you shot so far this year, Keith Baker. You got a regional membership too. You shoot. Oh, and rim fire. I see what you did there, Keith. Thank you.

SPEAKER_05

I like to support the supporting the PRS in every way I can, buddy.

SPEAKER_06

I do, I I love that for you, buddy. Thank you. And uh man, I I I love it. Thank you very much. I always have fond memories of the first barrel maker we put on, which is an absolute disaster. And you pulled the win out there, and you're like, that's a good match. You got a lot to learn. Right over there at the end of my finger.

SPEAKER_05

That's the trophy. That's the trophy? First or second.

SPEAKER_06

Yep. Yeah, you won a couple. Well, you won the first one, and you were right there in points in all of them, probably.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Yep.

SPEAKER_03

Yep, so 298.6. He's just jumping everybody.

SPEAKER_06

That's that's pretty solid. Or 290. No, it'd be 295.3. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Uh oh, he's gonna have the qualifier.

SPEAKER_05

I can kept on the qualifiers this year.

SPEAKER_03

I thought the yellow was maybe the qualifier. What does the yellow signify?

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, yellow? Uh the like yellow. Thank you for asking that. That shows you what scores go into the total score stand for the standings.

SPEAKER_03

I I should yeah, I should have figured that one out.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. Got knocked out.

SPEAKER_03

My bad.

SPEAKER_06

They did they did really well on uh on designing this up. Let's take a look. We'll go over the precision rifle series. Uh, I want to point out we have uh ultimate match rifle build that we're giving away. Uh MDT ACC, Impact, uh CRB barrel, vortex razor, all the good stuff here. Uh in or now. So, folks at home, please come here. Inner now. Let's click on Pro Series. Uh standings down here. Bushman and Kale. I love how this switched somehow and put Kale uh second to Bushman. Uh he probably loves it too, Bushman and he. I'm sure. I wonder how much Austin paid to do that. Yeah.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, for real. Right. Right. Uh Keith, that puts you at 14th, man.

SPEAKER_03

How much would Austin pay? Is uh well I'd be curious. Yeah. Okay, 14th. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

14th almost tied with Morgan, uh ahead of Francis. I mean, when you look at this, if you look at the top 15 here, like this thing is stacked. Like this is we're probably getting close to seeing how this is going to shake out for you know finale time. And we're in July, right? We still have 15, 20 matches left.

SPEAKER_05

Well, Jeff needs one more win for his 300. And uh I need two.

SPEAKER_03

I need two. Oh. I unfortunately need two. One of mine's uh it's a strong like 99-8 or 99-4. There it is, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

You've only shot one match that wasn't a qualifier.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, just how it's worked out. I don't I don't think this week's will be a qualifier, so I'll get a couple regular ones up there. But yeah, anyway, I'd I need I need two wins. That would be disastrous. I couldn't think of anything worse than like winning the finale and then not getting the golden bullet.

SPEAKER_06

Uh what about dropping a shot on a PRS barricade at a finale? Would that be worse?

SPEAKER_05

That's dude. The barricade now is probably the most important. It used to be the stage that we just shot. Now it's by far the most important stage. By far.

SPEAKER_06

You're right. Yeah. You're yeah, because of the time aspect of that. Isn't that crazy? And it's not. It's no longer a gimme. You know, that 10 inch, like you could I feel like if you know, I guess this is a question. You know, what was the fastest time on uh PRS barricade before we changed it to uh big, small or left, right, or near far? Was it probably 25 seconds, 24 seconds?

SPEAKER_00

I think Ben put it in.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, 20 or 28 to 30. It was it was man, France is not. I know and a low Ben was fast.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I think it was twenty it was twenty-five something or twenty-six something.

SPEAKER_06

Okay, was it that low? Yeah. Do you think if it was still a 10-inch circle at 400, what do you think the fastest time would be at this point? Because I I feel like you could just hold the trigger and close the bulk twice. You know? Like it feels like it's that big.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, god, it's it's just hard to imagine what Ben did doing. I I just don't know where you pick up much more time.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I I can't think it'd be much under 30 seconds. I gotta think it would be right at 30. I just can't.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. I feel like it's it's like those lap times. Once you get them so low, it's you know, a tenth or so is is impressive. Uh if they can improve it another second, uh I think that'd be awesome. But I guess no one's really, yeah, practicing it. Yeah, that's yeah, if someone made it that their sole purpose. Uh yeah, there's probably a way to get maybe a 24, 23.

SPEAKER_06

What uh Keith, what is your strategy every what yeah exactly? What is Keith, what is your strategy every time when you get to the PRS barricade?

SPEAKER_05

So before I got hurt, I was always one or two Before Bomber run? Loved it. Right. Yeah. Before before bomber run, I was swinging for it and I was fast. After bomber run, I can't I can't take those big steps, I can't make those big movements. So now well, up until this year, uh I've been just shoot for low 60s. It's good enough for a tiebreaker, points were all the same, it didn't matter. And first, second, I always felt you earned the same amount of points, first or second, you know, if you tied. And I didn't feel a tiebreaker really determined who was the better shooter, right? Uh, like that was just my my thought on it, you know, because you shoot them at different times in different conditions, you shoot, you know. Uh I love the hybrid scoring, but I just I I never felt that when you shoot or how fast you shoot, if you shoot it in the given time, makes you a better shooter or worse shooter, and it should determine that you are a different placement. So I mean, I kind of feel like if you both get 200 points, you both should get 200 points, and then the next one should get 194 or whatever it works out to be, whatever the third place, third, you know, tie for third or whatever that works out to be. But that's just that's just how I always was, so it's always how I thought, and I haven't thought about it further than that. But the tiebreaker, I love it. I think we should have it. I'd like to see two a match, like one on each day, so maybe conditions would balance a little bit, especially since we're shooting stages now, like or we're shooting, we're not shooting 10 and then 10 again, and conditions can vary quite a bit. Like, man, I've been in Oklahoma where you're shooting at 30 mile an hour one day and seven mile an hour the other day, and that's the weight of the match, right? Yeah, so yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Do you think I guess uh opinion for for both of you guys? So should it be the exact same barricade configuration, like big small or or near far, 400, 500? Like, should it should you just run the exact same one on stage five and stage 15?

SPEAKER_05

No, I don't really care what they are. I mean, I'm sorry, I didn't mean yeah, I I don't really care what they are as long as they're two stages that are halfway across the match apart, right? So you're likely not gonna hit them both first thing in the morning, right? Or however that balance.

SPEAKER_06

Or both in the same day.

SPEAKER_05

We're both in the same day, right? Where those two don't happen. They're definitely separate days. And then whatever it happens to be, well, that's that's odds, right? That just plays out however it plays out, whether you know it's sometimes you get a good good call in the wind in the morning on the long range stage, sometimes you get the other win, but that's you can't control that. But I'd like to see it balanced out over two days. Um that would be really cool. And I wouldn't care, I wouldn't care if it was a skill, a specific skill stage for the other one, as long as it was a time stage that was you know known ahead of time that I okay.

SPEAKER_06

So you can be different, different.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

What do you think, Jeff?

SPEAKER_03

I I'm in complete agreement. Yeah. I'd just as long as they're kind of yes, based out, so you two two time stages.

SPEAKER_06

One could be a troop line, one's the PRS barricade.

SPEAKER_05

Or not even the PRS barricade. It could be two troop lines. I don't know that it matters. Like as long as they're two time fair stages uh that are at least ten shots, then I don't know that we need to to I mean, I don't know that the skill stage is actually better than any other. I mean, if we're keeping time, like it doesn't really matter. So we could do any two stages as long as they're set ahead of time. So yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I I definitely like I think having one of them being like the skill stage, just I think that's a good one. Well, that's in our role. Yeah, so uh yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Jeff Jeff's young and fast. I get it.

SPEAKER_06

Okay. Now we understand where where Keith is coming from here. I'm the oldest. I get it, right? Senior oldest.

SPEAKER_03

I did I did go for I went for the skill stage down at Twisted Barrels because it was like our third to last stage, and you know, I was well out of it. So I so I went for it and uh dropped a ninth shot, but I I got I had it in 38. I think I could have yeah, Keith did a ridiculous 36. I don't think I had that, but I was having to shoot so recklessly fast to make up for the the crap movement. So yeah, it's that's a no-go. No go for me.

SPEAKER_06

Yep. Man. That's fast. All right. Well, that is fast. Sub 40 is crazy fast to me. Um, well, let's take a look here, Keith. So you you dropped 17. I mean, you this is a pretty good gap between you and Ken Sinoski. It's good to see Ken shooting well again. Were you guys squatted together for this?

SPEAKER_05

No, he was like uh, I don't know, three or four stages in front or behind me. Uh okay. It was nice that we only shot eight or nine stages each day. So there was you shot the same stages every day. Um I didn't think there was any chance I could come back and really even finish in a top five because I was down by eight on day one, or I think seven or eight, because uh I got when the fog and rain and all that stuff. Come in, I just I I wasn't able to execute real well. I dropped seven points on the side. That was on Saturday? Yeah, Saturday I evening.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. I just I was shooting really good. I made uh I made a mistake, didn't dial a target, you know, which was a couple points out. I was shooting good all day, but then towards the the end, I'm still still only down a handful. And then the fog and rain and all that came in, and I don't know. I just I have trouble executing real well when it gets dark and cloudy anymore. Uh it kinda you know, when it gets that way, I just I can see real clearly, I can generally execute well. Whether that's a mental block or a physical block, but you know, that's that tends to come in to me a few times a year, right? Bright days are great. Okay. Dark days, yeah, not not as great. They're dark. Yeah. They're dark. They're dark, and I don't see it. Interesting.

SPEAKER_06

Right.

SPEAKER_05

Right.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. So how many how many points did you actually drop on day two then?

SPEAKER_03

Like what how what uh I guess yeah, I don't remember thinking you were out of it going into day two. Did you it was just that it maybe made you think you were kind of out of it?

SPEAKER_05

The winner was down, I think the leader was down, I don't know exactly, but I think the leader was down five on day one. Okay. And Ken was down six, and I was down thirteen maybe.

SPEAKER_06

So you you would have shot stages ten through eighteen on day two?

SPEAKER_05

You looked at my stage eight and nine. Those were the stages I dropped all my points.

unknown

Yep.

SPEAKER_06

Uh well, no, there was uh no, one and two.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, there was our last two stages of the day. Yep. And then the other one on the side.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, so you were squad three, started on three, and then rotated around. Okay. Dang.

SPEAKER_05

Yep. And then the other one where I dropped that was a miss dial. I didn't dial back for the last target. I was timing out from we were shooting a thousand up on top of the mountain, and then I had to dial back and shoot like three hundred, and I uh just you know, just didn't dial. I shot and I'm like, whoa, yeah, yeah, where it was supposed to. And then I shot again because it was timing out and didn't have time to go through my process to see whether it was anything else. I had like there was a 12-round stage, I only had a couple seconds. So yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, so you did shoot pretty exceptionally. I mean as far as everything you could see and shot at, you pretty much hit just about everything.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I mean, it wasn't there wasn't anything from the match that I couldn't see. It just happened to be that when it gets dark and cloudy and and I can't see the definition of the target and the burns, that just it for me it's pretty tough. I think the younger like Laurel can see that stuff just crisp and clear still, you know. But I think it's actually five-year-old eyes.

SPEAKER_06

You're wearing right. Yeah. Yeah, exactly. Exactly. Well, uh, but hey, uh you're I mean, age isn't really a factor. You you have two wins this year, you know. Um you're you're shooting this weekend too, right?

SPEAKER_05

I am, yes, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

And and um you're not uh you are you Pancake Lake? Where are you shooting?

SPEAKER_05

I'm going to Pancake Lake. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Or were you sack sizzler? You are going to Pancake. That's what I thought. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

So I was when I was up in the Iowa match, these guys come up and they're like, man, we haven't seen MDT up here, you know. And and they're like, you know, why don't you come up and shoot our match? And I'm thinking, dude, that's like 20 hours away, you know, the it's a weekend that's five hours away, you know. My closest match is yeah, pretty much, you know, down at Sack Sizzler or whatever, darn near as close, right? And I'm like, I don't know. And they were like, man, we could really, you know, use this support. And and I said, Do you have a lot of wind? And they're like, Yes. And I'm like, Do you have small targets? Yes. All right, I'm in. So I hope they have a lot of wind and a lot of small targets. Because that North Dakota match was a blast.

SPEAKER_06

I mean Joe Thielen's called the the yeah, it was it was oh that's right. And and Joe actually, um, yeah, here's here's the picks for this week. There's there's only five pros that are gonna be at uh Pancake Lake. So I mean Keith Baker, Chris Hyant, uh Chris did well. Um he was at THS. Chris finished ninth at THS. Um Michael Bay, Noel Grizzly, and Sam Gearing. I mean, these pros like this might be the top five. You know, uh add in there Jeff Scoby, who's gonna be a pro after this year.

SPEAKER_03

Um Rusty, he shot last match. I recognize that name.

SPEAKER_06

Rusty Thriller, yeah. He was he you shot against him in North Dakota, I think, and THS. Uh he was at THS, but uh Keith, you're uh you know, kind of looks like you're cherry picking matches, maybe for uh I had cherry pick matches.

SPEAKER_05

No, no, no, no, no, no. No, I shoot, I mean, I try and shoot the toughest matches I can. Dude, I went to North Dakota instead of you know local Texas or whatever, you know. I mean, uh I mean I the only one that's would be cherry picking is KM, and I've never shot well there. Uh I mean Iowa, big win, right? You know. Um I think.

SPEAKER_06

Unfortunately, Pancake Lake's not a qualifier for you, but yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, I what is your next qualifier? Do you know? I don't know. I I'm kind of done chasing that. You know, I mean, I really am winning at life right now. I'm in I'm enjoying shooting. I'm trying to do my MDT work as best as I can, like support them, have a good time in a match. Like that's I'm I'm not, I'm just I don't have the time to put the extra 30 hours in a week to really chase it hard. Uh and my son's like 19, right? Or 20, and he's you know, I've got a couple years to to get him where I want him, you know, and visit him and and win it life with him and my wife, and that's my goal. Next year I'm gonna be a senior. Yeah. Next year I got, you know, I'm gonna kinda maybe step on the gas a little bit. Um, but while he's home, I'm just trying to spend all the time I can with my family and then go shoot well, but you know, I'm not doing the 20 hour, you know, the reps every day and the practice. It takes to shoot really well. Like, I mean, the the stuff it takes to win, like Jeff, it's not you don't just go show up on the weekend and do that, right? And uh, or at least I don't know that's what Jeff was saying right now. You know, and I mean, you know, so I that it's and I'm not ready to do that yet. So that that's a lot of time away from work, away from life, and uh I am just really enjoying shooting with people and and and getting in squads of people I don't know, and just signing my name up and see who fills in underneath me, and just really enjoying the PRS experience, right? And it's tough to do being so competitive. Like, make no misunderstanding. It really sucks when you leave a match and you're like, well, the only reason I didn't win is because I was underprepared, or I should have done this, or you know, and and I knew I know it's achievable. Like but um when I look at the end goal, I'm I'm kind of where I want to be. So yep. Chasing the bullets hard, man. Like there's just too many great, great shooters that it takes a lot of work, a ton of work.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah. That works a lot easier.

SPEAKER_06

What yeah, what are you holding up there?

SPEAKER_03

I was about to ask you, you still have a 47.

SPEAKER_05

No, 2547 is all I shot for the last six years. But I haven't shot a dasher since probably the barrel maker, the original one, and I was putting testing. Well, wait, wait, wait. There's a little difference in these two. That was the old Dasher, that's a new Dasher. Right? And that's I I we got those new T-X T barrels. Whoops, wrong one. There we go. Is it blurry for you, Kenny? It is one of those clear for the final to see how they would fly, and all of a sudden they fly really good in a dasher. That's like a a combo made in heaven.

SPEAKER_06

Oh, one of the proof barrels.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, yeah. How fast are you moving them? Uh I ran them up to 2880 or 2870, 2880, but I see 2780 really well. Like that's the number I want to shoot, you know, less than 2800. So I'm running right at 2800, 97, somewhere in there. But that's just a beautiful spot for my eye to watch the bullet hit the target versus watch the target react. So uh I started playing with testing those barrels and testing the bullets, and I started with, you know, I I mean, this is brass probably from Barrelmaker, because I really haven't had haven't had that combo in a while. And uh I'm like, well, I'm just gonna see how it does. And I throwed one an extra 150,000ths and started playing with it. And I was like, like my 105s won't even touch the case if I touch the lands. Literally, they won't touch the brass if I touch the lands with them. But I can tell you it's probably one of the lowest recoiling, best shooting rifles, and I did two of them, and I was like, I shot a grain and a half wide of powder. I could have covered them all in a half MOA group.

SPEAKER_06

Like, I mean, you you wouldn't see you can't, but it must be it must be that uh, it must be that twist, right? Right, because I, you know, uh everybody we've had on here that's talked about using them is all like, yeah, Dasher's an OGO, like you need Creedmore 47, right? But I mean, maybe it's Sabarrow, maybe it's throwing them 150,000 further, you know further, like shoot it out of 130,000 free bore.

SPEAKER_05

Like you can't, I'm I'm I'm over a hundred thousandths longer than my hundred normal 136 free bore, like 100%. And if you if you tried to shoot them out of a 150,000th free board gun, they're not gonna shoot with a damn. Uh at least I would be surprised if they did. But freeing them up where they need to, I had to make mags to fit them. Like they don't fit in an in a in a normal mag, right? I had to extend them out.

SPEAKER_06

Um and it's really it was all about the gray ops the gray ops ones?

SPEAKER_03

Well, I think the gray ops GT mags. I I tried to with the dasher and the GT mag, and it seemed to fit and feed fine. So they work in an AW20, okay.

SPEAKER_05

Right? My old AW mags from years ago with the with whatever kit's kit or whatever was in it. And then because HRD, that HRD kit? HRD kit, yep. They work really well in there. And then I wanted to see if it would feed because I thought all that weight would make them tippy, right? And uh then I took an MDT mag and tore apart a BR mag and went to a no-binder plate, long uh regular 960 mag, a full length mag, put them together.

SPEAKER_06

We're doing this again.

SPEAKER_05

And they feed like butter, they run great. There's, I mean, I'm shooting them out of a seven and a half twist. Everything everybody says you need a seven, and I'm sure I'd probably get a little better BC out of the seven, but it's a couple points, and I don't know. I mean, that's not really comparable. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, it's what C C do you have them in?

SPEAKER_05

I'm getting 322 right now at that speed, and I think the box says 28, and that would make about sense. I would expect to lose five, six points, maybe, maybe going to uh uh, you know, at that slowest speed with a seven and a half. If I was pushing them out of a creed more, it probably wouldn't matter. Uh my original goal was to go 47 because I just felt like that would be the right size case for it, but I didn't have any more 47 brass. It would do it. And then I had a bunch of dasher brass laying around, and I just I I did a test barrel originally, just an old BR barrel, and I punched it out the dasher and then throated it till it fit, and I shot it and I ran it up to 2,900 feet a second just to see where I was gonna have case problems or anything like that. And it wasn't real happy once I got up around 33 grains of Arget, you know, but I'm running like 31.3. I mean, it just I'm running nothing. I went down below every like every group I shot for two grains was 10 shots, and that's that's I mean, 10 shots in the point threes are better. That's all around, and I went less than that and over that, and they get better, right? I mean, and then at a thousand yards, I put 10 shot groups at three inches, 3.4 inches, 3.5 inches, and I'm like, holy crap.

SPEAKER_06

That was with the old that was at the old barrel too, that old BR barrel?

SPEAKER_05

No, I just did that for the initial pressure test, and I spun up the other barrels. Okay, all right. So this is all I just did the initial pressure test, yeah. Uh uh just to see what I was to get velocity because my goal was 2780, right? Because I knew that would be a number for me. And uh, but then I put everything on the E-target and BC degration on this particular lot's nothing. Like I'm coming out of the barrel SD of four, I'm going through the target at 1,015 yards with an SD of seven. Like, I mean, it's nothing. And and I haven't found that with any other bullet than the 105 in the last, you know, seven, eight years. You know what I mean? Like the 105 hybrid, and when I would point them and take all that, I could see that out of those. But these 120s are, I mean, I'm not into buying whiz bang stuff. Like I say, I I shot a Dasher for five years, I shot a BR variant for the other three years, and for the last five years, I've been nothing but 2547, except for one match, which happened to be the other one I won, uh this year. And uh I realized it can be.

SPEAKER_06

And that that was with leftover ammo, I remember you telling me.

SPEAKER_05

From the AG Cup at KM, whenever that was, right? Um and uh and I realized that I was my brain wasn't shutting down quite as much, right? Uh because I run a break, right? And I've got a lot of fatigue from a lot of hours, and uh, I've been playing with all kinds of stuff to try and get my brain a little clearer, uh, different magnesiums and so forth. I met uh a doctor that specializes in traumatic brain stuff, and she does it for people with concussive disorders and so forth, and she's gave me a bunch of different magnesiums that pass the blood-brain barrier, and it's like my brain's clear, I'm able to see that, it takes care of some of that inflammation. No joke. And uh, and I'm started adding that in, plus the you know, less concussion from the from the rifle cartridge. I tried to suppress her route, I hadn't 100% been able to commit to it yet. Um I really need to change my overall rifle because my barrels are too long, my balance points aren't right.

SPEAKER_06

And I Yeah, it's it's a big change altogether. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I just went back to a break just for moving it around. It's significantly easier just for me to move it around with with the brake. So I'm uh I'm gonna do that the rest of the season. But then yeah, I'd like to maybe commit to the the cans as well. So much more pleasant to shoot. But yeah, man, that bullet at 2780 out of a dasher. That that's gonna be a tough, tough combo to beat.

SPEAKER_05

It's super simple.

SPEAKER_03

So you uh Jeff, you're gonna tell your gunsmith now. I'm literally I'm calling him after we get off. May text him now. I'll be like, we gotta we gotta get it going. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

I need a quarter inch of Freeboy. Oh, dude. And I'm and it's not us.

SPEAKER_03

Actually, I may just uh get Keith's address and go take care of it.

SPEAKER_05

This was the first dummy round I loaded. Like that was the dummy round that I throwed it to. I'm like, that's about right. And I go right there, and that was the first round. I'm like, okay, let's go another 30,000ths, and that's where we're gonna let it ride. And uh then I did the other one.

SPEAKER_06

When you when you loaded that dummy round, when you loaded that dummy round, did you just put the base of the bullet somewhere around the the next shoulder junction and you're like thousands of bullets? Or did you uh how did you did you put it in a mag?

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

Uh I didn't worry about it. I didn't worry about putting it in a mag because I figured the mag part would settle itself out. Figure that out later. Right. The the problem is, it's gonna shoot so well you can single feed next shoulder junction, right? It just can't, you know, and uh and be be what I want it to be and give me the capacity. Otherwise, I need to do a 647, right? Or GT or some other version, right? Uh but I will tell you that the junk barrel that I had wrote junk on it, that I did all the that I did the initial ladder test of five rounds at every load, all the way up from 31 to 33 grains, 33 and a half grains actually, uh all shot really good. And I'm like, holy crap, this is this gun's the one I want to take to the match, you know. So anyway. Pretty impressive. Like I'm I'm not in it, but it's a great bullet.

SPEAKER_06

Like, and I'm glad I got a bunch of is that what you're is that what you're taking to Canada this next week?

SPEAKER_05

Oh yeah. I I would like in the other barrel that's better, I'm setting back for the finale. Yeah. Hard to pick better. Yeah.

SPEAKER_07

I like it.

SPEAKER_06

I like it.

SPEAKER_05

So I like it. Now I I need a couple more matches to see like the 2547 for me was slow and I could see a lot of material hit the target and I could define on the target so far right of center, so far left of center, like I could not see the target react. I could say, oh, that was an inch right of center, right? I could watch that material come apart because there was so much of it. The 120, the light wasn't real great this week, so I feel like I'm seeing the same thing, but I need a couple matches to make sure that I'm still seeing that really, really good signature that I'm looking for. But I the 25, if I was out of position a quarter inch, that bullet would slip a little high, a little low, a little left. I can tell you the dasher never does that, and it still don't do it. And that's the difference for me because like you transition, you hear, and just moving your shoulders at quarter inch, if I didn't move my hips at the same time, a lot of times that one or two times a match, if I wasn't perfect, I'd see that bullet slip a couple inches high, a couple inches left, and maybe off the edge of a target. You know what I mean? And now with the dasher, I never had that. The BR variants, a recoil impulse is a little different. And I'm hoping, my goal is I'm hoping that it's gonna fix that. And if it doesn't, well, I still got a whole bunch of one 30 feet.

SPEAKER_06

Uh yeah, so you still got you still got good options that have won a lot of matches for you.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, but I I will tell you that that is a that is a perfect little combination for me. I don't want it to go any faster, I don't want it to go any slower, I want it to go right there. Yep.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah. Long as well. You love it. Good.

SPEAKER_06

Man, congrats, uh, congrats on the win this last weekend. Um we'll be watching. See Canada. Uh now that we know your combination, I'm sure there's a lot of people that can be tuning in. And uh only Jeff and I are gonna know what you're gonna be up there and running and your confidence in this, so it'll be a fight between Jeff and I who gets to pick you for this next week, too. Yep. Oh there's a lot of good shooters up there. We'll see. Yeah. We'll see, yeah. Well, we appreciate you, Keith. Um, man, it's good having you on. I I wouldn't be surprised if we end up talking in another week or so if you get back in time. That would be awesome. All right. Looking forward to it, brother. Thank you. Yep, good luck, Keith. Ted Clark, welcome to the show. Uh congrats on the win this weekend, buddy. Um man, this you you shot fantastic.

SPEAKER_02

Well, thanks, Ken. Yeah, it was uh it was nice to um kind of get a second one. You know, it kind of felt like um, you know, like validation, you know, to uh got get it one time. Looks like you're wondering if the stars align or not.

SPEAKER_06

And I think that's validation then again. Just for you, but I think the rest of us, I I mean, I I know we've we've we've had uh a bunch of picks and stuff this year. And it seems like anything North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, etc., right? Like Ted Clark's in the mix, period, right?

SPEAKER_02

I felt I was letting um Clay down a lot. Like he kept picking me, he picked us like, oh my God. So that had an effect on you, him picking you. I I think yeah, I'm gonna blame Clay. Yeah, I think it was supposed to go.

SPEAKER_03

That's yeah that's fair. That is big. Congrats. So like getting two, I there is something special about getting a second win. Yeah. I think. So that's yeah.

SPEAKER_02

The the first one was so unexpected, like I had never got a trophy before, even like not a single trophy from a two-day match. And then really? Okay.

SPEAKER_03

So just jumping and winning without quite rare.

SPEAKER_02

It's a surprise for sure.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. God, that was that was what, a couple years ago, or was it last year? Iowa last year?

SPEAKER_02

Last year at Iowa.

SPEAKER_03

Last year, yeah. Okay.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. We are working on a website to make sure that you can see all of like eternity of matches. Like that's coming, coming back, but great. Stay stay with us. But anyways, Sam Gearing.

SPEAKER_02

Well, he actually kind of helped me get that win last year. You know, it's like we started talking about it, and you know, he was kind of close too. And he got deep into like the mindset deal. And um just kind of there is a lot to that. And I think they kind of helped me pull through on day two, and I shot with them too. So we were back and forth all day. And it's amazing what it takes, you know. I don't want to say it takes luck, but you you can't have bad luck. I feel like it's just so tight out there, you know, like one stage can do it.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

So what was the mental process this weekend then? Did you know, was it just, hey, I'm I'm just here to shoot and take stage by stage. I mean, were you thinking big picture or anything? Thinking results?

SPEAKER_02

Uh I was thinking results, yeah. It's like first day, like I kind of I've shot that range a few times, so I knew like the tough each end are kind of difficult. You know, you get to one end, like stages one through two, three, you get to the other end, 18 through 20. It the wind gets really dynamic there. You start kind of shooting across the range, and then you kind of get into more of a consistent wind through the middle. Um so I kind of got beat up the first day a little bit towards the end, the end of the range, and then you know, I knew to stay with it because you kind of get into some easier, more consistent wind, and then same with uh day two. Um clean the Pierre's bear cage, which was a nine-point improvement from my previous time I shot it at Derek's match. Wow. So that was nice. I've been there. Yeah. And then we go to the other side of the range, and I and I wanted to check scores because I knew I was running good, but I was like, I'm gonna get through these stage 11 and 12. I was second shooter on stage 11, and unfortunately Frazier McKenzie, great guy, but he brought stage one dope to stage 11. So with a new wind, so that was no help. You know. Um so I kind of shot that stage first, and then I went to the next stage first.

SPEAKER_06

Um Frazier was shooting pretty good too, wasn't he?

SPEAKER_02

He was, yeah. Yeah, he he was struggling, just kind of just telling me, um, you know, field style match, like he was missing on the pro side and he thought it was on the weak side because you catch the dust on the other side of the plate, he's used to berms. Um, you know, Chris's is notoriously tough for that. I remember that adjustment period when I first started shooting it. I was thinking elevation, I was changing elevation all the time. And can't trust that, you know. It's it's usually when, you know, sometimes your bullets hit 80 yards behind.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, yeah. You know, yeah. So then you you check your scores at that point after what, stage two, three?

SPEAKER_02

After I got through twelve, um second stage. Clean both those. I was like, okay, I know, I know I'm sitting good, you know. And I looked, and Matt Den is only too bad for me. Another North Dakota shooter.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I haven't seen seen his name in a while.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it was nice to see him shoot good, you know. We're buying for the better Dakota trophy, uh which is a big deal in the Dakotas. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Um I mean, yeah, he probably was was feeling that.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, also when he's down too. It's like, man, I gotta keep the keep the gas on here. And then it got to 97 degrees, and it was 97 degrees. It got to 97, and I was like, I shot this positional stage. I walked over to the next stage and was like, sweat's just running down my face. And uh Rowdy's like, Are you okay? And the RO's like, hey, I don't want anybody going down on this stage. I just said my I sat on the cooler for a while and drank like a electrolyte drink, and thankfully I came around. Yeah, but it was yeah, I was feeling a little hot for a while there.

SPEAKER_03

Well, yeah, I wonder if that's what kind of took Matt down a little bit. I wonder what happened. Do you know what happened to him or anything, or you just pretty much stay stayed sharp?

SPEAKER_02

Well, then he he kind of had to shoot that loop and he dropped some points there, and yeah. You kind of got where the wind got a little squirrely at times too. Like it just it let off and it picked back up, so it kind of like come from around you like um 630 to a 530, then it picked back up to a 730. So you're shooting through that whole clock value. Oh my gosh. Like stage 12, I wrote down nine columns, and it was the ninth column I wrote down as what I ran. And it was completely different than what I had. You know, I just wrote it down last second, waiting to shoot the stage. Wind kept changing.

SPEAKER_03

Hmm. Gosh, so probably going into the last couple stages, given those conditions, you you probably didn't feel as though you had it, or did you think, oh, this is probably I got this at this point?

SPEAKER_02

Uh stay second to last stage, stage 15, was a prairie dog troop line. It's notoriously tough. You know, beginning to bring a browdy, he, you know, he shoots prairie dogs all the time. He was sending me videos on Sunday, shot like 10 dogs. He walks out, gets gets a four. You know, I'm like, oh you know.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And and I knew we knew Saturday morning, like that that that's gonna be a tough stage. You know, it it's the you sometimes you get an eight on that stage and you feel great.

SPEAKER_04

And yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Wind held on me. I was able to get it clean, and I I I knew I was a good spot on 16.

SPEAKER_06

Okay, you know. So 16 was your last stage. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, because it seemed like you had at least seven or so, like you could have gotten a three, I think.

SPEAKER_02

And yeah, well, it's funny, like well, 16, like Rowdy and I came up with a plan before and we're like four tenths first target, six tenths, second, four on the third, and it was like a true plan that started at 500, went out to 900 with a big pan. Yeah. And the guy before me shot it with seven tenths, one one mil and one point two mil. And if I would have shot the four six four, which nobody could shoot, it would have never worked. Yeah, I would have cleaned it with it. Like bizarre enough. Like the wind went back to what I thought it was, but nobody else could that wouldn't hit any plates.

SPEAKER_06

Really. Whoa. So I mean sometimes it I mean you need a little bit of luck to get a win, right?

SPEAKER_02

Where you do, it's kind of for some reasons, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Stuff like that works out.

SPEAKER_02

Maybe I just wrote down my wind and the wind gush just favored that. I I don't know. That's great.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, I'm glad it worked out. Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Man, so win by five impacts, dropped two on your last one, so you were going up, you were up by seven there about, right?

SPEAKER_02

Um I had the tiebreaker on your licky. You did, okay.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. We could take a look again here. Uh time last stage 114.48.

SPEAKER_02

Uh was that him or you like he dropped one, so oh, okay.

SPEAKER_06

Okay. So you were yeah. Yeah. He dropped one on it. There you go. Dang. Yep. Another guy that needs to eventually get a win here.

SPEAKER_03

He's been he's been shooting well, but yeah, I was secretly rooting for him after day one because he was, I was like, oh yeah, Josh, let's get it done. And but then yeah, it's not like you can root against Ted once he kind of jumped up there. I was like, well, let's see who wins this. Yeah. Yeah. Of course, Matt was in that too, so it was yeah.

SPEAKER_06

I find it hard to root against anybody that's in the Midwest. I don't know why. Like, and and it's you know, Rowdy, it's Ted, it's Sam. Um, who else is in your guys' crowd, right?

SPEAKER_02

I shoot Derek a lot, and then a couple Okies a lot of times.

SPEAKER_06

I don't know if they're considered Midwest or they're not Midwest, but Oklahoma is separate, right? We don't root for those guys. Kansas is kind of borderline, those yeah, the gray area, but like that upper Midwest, you know?

SPEAKER_07

Mm-hmm.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Meanwhile, everybody Kansas and Oklahoma is like, Ken, what are you seeing right now? I'm from the upper Midwest, so it is what it is.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, they're closer to Texas. It's more of the south.

SPEAKER_06

They are. They are in Oklahoma. This is so good.

SPEAKER_03

Are you gonna be at the barrel maker, Ken?

SPEAKER_06

That's what it looks like. Sign up for it, huh?

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I've never I've never been. I'd I don't know if I shot when it was still around. Might have been the very beginning.

SPEAKER_06

We hosted it uh 2019, 20, 21, and 22. It was only four years.

SPEAKER_03

So the last year I went, 22. Uh that was the only year I went, was the last year you had it.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, that's fun.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I think it started in 21, so I never did make it over there.

SPEAKER_06

Okay. And and to be clear, it's not uh Tucker Schmidt's hosting it. Awesome. Um and unfortunately, it's not at the same property. Uh, it is a couple hours away. I'll say this though, to pimp that match out. Um, it's only about 45 minutes from Wisconsin Dells, which is like a huge family um water slides, the whole camping, the whole bit. So, like if there's a match that your family can tag along to and have a better time doing that while you're off shooting, like it's it. Like, it's good.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. I'm looking forward to it.

SPEAKER_03

Now did you shoot a 25 by 47, Ted?

SPEAKER_02

I did. Yep. I it was Sunday afternoon. I screwed into brand new barrel on and put 70 rounds on it, and put 70 more on Tuesday, and I showed up on Friday and put 15 more with the chrono on it, and I'd never shot it over a hundred yards until I got to the match.

SPEAKER_03

Well, that's good to know it works for somebody to do that.

SPEAKER_02

New loud of bullets.

SPEAKER_03

It's just okay. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. It worked out, you know. No, everything everything else was proven. Um the custom curve, you know. It just seems like I I put the speed in and the custom curve on and it works.

SPEAKER_07

Okay.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

All right.

SPEAKER_06

Um decent qualifier score. I mean, 90, you got 100. Um, I mean, barrel makers, not a qualifier, so that should replace this. I mean, it would be hard. I would be hard pressed to bet against you, Ted.

SPEAKER_02

Um it would be nice to drop that 88. Yeah, for sure.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. I I think uh I think you'll be sitting in a pretty decent spot then.

SPEAKER_03

It's nice having nice having the hundred. What are you shooting next?

SPEAKER_02

It's just the barrel maker. That's my last match of the year.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, last one. Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Yeah. I just didn't kind of get the scores I wanted this year. It's just what it was. Oh, it's I gotta figure out how to shoot the Mirage. I don't I don't know what the trick is to that.

SPEAKER_06

It's uh find windier places to shoot.

SPEAKER_02

Right? In Iowa and a clays match, I just got eaten up for a while. Both matches. I don't know if I need less zoom or more zoom or what's typically shooting it on. 20, 22 power, I feel like.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, yeah, okay.

SPEAKER_06

Okay, yeah, that's fine. Currently 54th with 278. Uh, and Tony Rocco is right in front of you. So yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Is this current or is that possible? Okay, that is current.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, this is current. Um, well, let me let me before I just like uh well, I'll try to avoid avoid picking you, Ted.

SPEAKER_03

Most of my picks tend to underperform. I think I just drag them down somehow. So I'll I will not pick you since you need a solid score.

SPEAKER_02

I always like it, in fact, I'm not gonna lie. Just after Clay picked me so many times, like, man, I keep letting this guy down.

SPEAKER_06

We'll have to we'll have to have Clay on uh the week of the Barrel Maker and um and see. I it'll be in you know what I should get out and actually practice and get ready for that match and see if anybody actually picks me on the show. I'll probably match.

SPEAKER_03

Get out there and practice. It makes a difference, Ken. It really does.

SPEAKER_06

I know.

SPEAKER_02

I know it does. What do you think the time limit will be on that match?

SPEAKER_06

Like a minute 45, 2? Yeah, it's probably 105 or 120. Yeah, yeah. I don't he won't. It's not like back in the day, we did like 90 seconds on Saturday and 70 seconds on Sunday. He yeah, Tucker came to all those matches, but I don't think anybody enjoyed it.

SPEAKER_02

I struggle to shoot quick. Even a minute 45, it seems like I'm pushing.

SPEAKER_04

Really?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. A guy on Sunday actually asked me, he's like, hey, do you think we could tripod this stage? And all I said was, um, um, not if you're uh you gotta be Jeff Geary, or else I don't think you can. There's just no chance.

SPEAKER_03

I did start practicing that recently. My tripod rear game had gone down the tubes, Ted. I just lived by that, people saying I was good at it, so I just assumed it would be there whenever I called upon it, and I called upon it, and it was not there. No doubt. And I was like, oh boy, I forgot how to do this. It was just it was just clunky, it's just everything. So I actually practiced it. Made a huge difference. I don't think guys are actually practicing tripod rear that much. Because it doesn't take a lot of time. I like maybe did 20 minutes for three nights, and it was like gate felt game changing. Hate to use that word. That's what it is, uh 20 minutes for three nights. It at least kind of got me back to kind of where I was, but I I don't know. I bet there's not a lot of people that are, you know, spending an hour because I've really looked at it. What what are you doing? You're holding a tripod around, and sh it's kind of a ridiculous thing to do. And you're like dry fire, it just seems silly. Uh is this a prudent way to spend my time pulling away a tripod? Uh I I just was questioning it, but it did help. It it felt a lot better after an hour over the course of a week. But yeah, anyway, uh do you practice tripod rear, Ted?

SPEAKER_02

No, not really. I did for a bit to be able to do it, and then it's like, oh, I'm actually kind of not bad at this, and then I like it, just thought I could do it. Yeah, then I pull it out and I'm like, oh my God. Is it a training? Okay, yeah. So I can usually struggle through it, but I can't be quick. You know, it's gotta be set up for tripod rear. Yeah, I can't be going into the tripod and yeah, it it kind of falls apart.

SPEAKER_03

No, I think I was I was hoping yeah to try to get better. I think it could be used as a as a tool on more stages if you could just get super efficient with it. I think it would be very beneficial.

SPEAKER_02

I think that I see very well when I use tripod rear. That's for certain. Uh and I think that's a good thing. But I kind of struggle. Sometimes I get like I'll actually get like a left or right wobble. I feel like sometimes with the tripod. I must have tension in the system somewhere.

SPEAKER_06

Like you're fighting it across the target, left, right, left, right, left, right. Yeah. I do that too. I don't know what it is. Do you use one of those uh what does Armageddon call it? The rear admiral. You use one of those?

SPEAKER_03

I I do. Yeah, I took about probably half the fill out of it or so. It comes very full. Tried that. Tried the Wheebab one too. I like liked them both. I don't even know why. And well, I do know why. The the Velcro on the Wheebab one kind of was digging into my hands some somehow. So uh anyway, the rear admiral just felt a hair better to me. So that's what we're doing now.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

But no, I don't know.

SPEAKER_06

But uh what percentage of the stages at THS Ted were like, you know, barricade versus prone, and you know, like would have actually needed maybe a rear tripod, probably not many, right?

SPEAKER_02

Like Chris, I I don't believe is a fan of tripod. You know, he he he designs his stages to shoot with a bipod or a bag or just a bag. And he'll tease you into trying to use a tripod, I feel like. And then like if you try one, it punishes you. So we kind of just know like not to use one. Really. It's like set up in a way where you're panning into the target or there's a slope, it it just doesn't work out. And all his props are really solid. You know, he had a couple tires, but you know, tires are you know what tires are. Um but now everything else rock solid.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, I could I could definitely get that flavor from from Chris where you know he's he's a field match shooter, right? Like if the if the PRS went full, you know, or 80% prone, 90% prone, he'd be happy, you know?

SPEAKER_02

Yep. Yeah, yeah. South Dakota guys like to shoot prone too, so he's it's kind of like a 50-50 mix with his match, which is nice. I mean, it's good property for it. And he's just got the steel for it as well.

SPEAKER_06

There you go. There you go. That's awesome. So just one more match. What if uh what if you win that match? And great, you you know you're top of the five.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, if you win that, you have to do another one if you win that. There's probably one I could find, I imagine. I'd be pretty motivated, I think, to try to do better than a 90 to really get up there.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I was a good spot last year. Um I had a chance at a black bullet, but I just didn't get it done at the finale.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Well, hopefully this year, man.

SPEAKER_06

It'd be it'd be fun to see some Midwest guys do really well, you know. So we'll be right back.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it'll be different going down to Arkansas. Um different style than I'm used to. But I I like those. I've been down to Magnolia before. Had a lot of fun down there.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Um it's just it's just different than what I'm used to.

SPEAKER_06

It they might favor, wouldn't you say, Jeff, the rear tripod?

SPEAKER_03

Yes. I used it a bunch at the match. I think that's yeah, that's probably why I'm starting to practice it a lot more. I think it could be used down there to advantage, potentially.

SPEAKER_02

I was wondering if I'd do a six-stasher to bring down there or I got a lot of 47 brass. I could do a six by 47 with that new 120 burger, or just, you know, take the horse that got me there, you know, and a 25 cal. You know, I don't know. I got options.

SPEAKER_03

Oh boy, those are like three solid options too.

SPEAKER_06

Jeff, if you think it it well, Ted, have you been there yet to Twisted Barrel? No. You haven't been there? So and Jeff, you've been there, obviously. If all of a sudden we get like 20 mile an hour winds, 25, maybe gusts of 30 all weekend. Like if that's a forecast, does a f does a 2547 get it done? Or is it still dasher country?

SPEAKER_03

I I s I still would bet on a a dasher. Okay. Or a GT. I think enough guys are running like the 120 out of a GT that you know that could easily that combo could win. Um but yeah, I mean I think a 109 could could easily win. Whatever Nate was doing, if he does that, uh I think that would that would potentially have won.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

That was that was extremely solid.

SPEAKER_06

I think that was a dasher, wasn't it?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, or BRA.

SPEAKER_06

That's right, yeah, yeah. That's right. You should run them all, but BRA would that be kidding.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I mean if it did, I guess below 30, but I just don't think that that's the odds of that are very unlikely.

SPEAKER_06

Right.

SPEAKER_08

There you go, Ted.

SPEAKER_02

10 to 15 mile an hour wind down there?

SPEAKER_08

Oh, for sure. For sure.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Yeah, you can get some decent wind. There'll be some de you can create some some pretty wide, he can do some pans of at least probably 30, maybe 35 degrees or so. He sticks targets out in the field, so you'll definitely have kind of um and put them up against some trees where it's just hard to get any feedback at all. So he he has a lot of options at at that range. So I think he could create a a pretty cool course of fire for sure. Yeah. Should be a solid finale, and hopefully that time of year should be nice temperature.

SPEAKER_06

Should be.

SPEAKER_07

Probably cool in the morning and hopefully decent in the afternoon. Yeah. Yep.

SPEAKER_06

Well, Ted, it's been uh good having you on. Man, this is awesome. I uh we'll see you here in Wisconsin. Um if you haven't squatted yet, we you possibly have an option to squat together. That'd be cool.

SPEAKER_02

I think we're squatted up. We got a we got a full squad. Um You did.

SPEAKER_06

All right. Uh bunch of North Dakota South Dakota guys. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Um man, I kind of forget. I'm pretty bad at who kind of people tell me to jump in this squad, you know, and squad at this time, and I don't even like look at it. But yeah, I'm not sure who I'm with.

SPEAKER_06

Heck yeah. Awesome, man. Well, hopefully we'll see you there. And um yeah, get to see each other in person and hopefully have a good match. But uh man, congrats again on the win and um yeah, we'll see you here soon. All right, sounds good. Thank you guys. Yep, congrats again, Ted. You gotcha. You know what? You know you know what this looks like, Adam? Indiana. It really does. It doesn't look that bad. Well, hold on. Hold on. Hold on. So you're 11 hours. Actually, you're only 12 hours away. That's not that's not so bad. When you think Manitoba, but um starting in Wisconsin with the town in yeah. Adam, help me help me with the town you're in in Indiana. Butlerville. But that's right. Butlerville India. There we go. Let's you guys are a little bit apart. Yeah, 17 hours. Um and the range. This is uh let's do a little bit of history lesson for everybody real quick, Adam. The Big Oaks National Wildlife Refuge. Right. Um this is this is where the bomber run was run. That was was that your first two-day pro series match?

SPEAKER_09

Yeah, it was our first two-day in 22. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

So this this property here um used to belong. It was all this uh all this base, but now you have Big Oaks National Wildlife Refuge. And um the gentleman that owned the airstrip and the hangers and stuff like that, right? Didn't he get a big contract from Ford or something like that? That was like, hey, I got yeah.

SPEAKER_09

Yeah, that's what that's what was going down. It didn't end up going through, but I think he's looking at putting a data center in there now.

SPEAKER_06

Well, of course. Yeah. Yeah. Which is which is too bad because like it's super cool. Like you drive in, there's um, I don't know, this big circle here with like barracks and I mean you're on an army base that was decommissioned in what the mid-90s. It was very memorable.

SPEAKER_09

There's a building, yeah, there's a building just north of the of the airfield that has, you know, like three bays of a hundred-yard indoor range, you know, that's all just d dilapidated and it's really cool. There's barracks, you know, barracks buildings all around it.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. And the in this wildlife refuge, this big oaks, right, like, is like unaccessible, right? Like you can't go in most of it, right?

SPEAKER_09

Uh yeah, there I mean you can still get in there. Um, you know, guys go in there hunting and um you know, mushroom hunting and whatnot. They, you know, there's signs everywhere that you know tell you to leave unexploded ordinance alone because they're you know apparently abundant. Um there's part of it that the Indiana Air National Guard still uses and they make strafing runs with uh with the work hogs with the A-10s and and cool, you know, helicopters.

SPEAKER_03

Speaking of the unexploded ordinance, that wouldn't look what this was, was it? I I hope that's not the unexploded ordinance y'all found and cleaned it up.

SPEAKER_06

Oh no, no. That was an awesome trophy. That is cool. Really cool. That's awesome. Man. Well, so all right. Did the history lesson here. So Dawson Keene, uh, well, welcome to the show. Pancake Lake, uh, two-day pro series matches this weekend. Uh Adam Weinberger, welcome to the show. We got uh Zack Sizzler happening. Um let's talk, uh, let's talk our matches this weekend. So, Dawson, what uh what could shooters expect with uh your course of fire and weather and all the things?

SPEAKER_01

Um, Pancake Lakes uh more of a field style match. Um the venue is pretty cool. It allows us to shoot in just about 270 degrees. So both days um everybody's gonna kind of walk in a in a circle around the course of fire. You're never gonna be more than 300 yards from your vehicle, um, a couple hundred yards between stages. And yeah, you're gonna shoot just about all directions. Um course of fire. There'll be lots of positional stages. Um I wouldn't say, yeah, there's gonna be a few prone, but um it should be lots of fun. Um weather is gonna be hot. Uh I don't know if you guys have looked at the forecast yet, but uh I have not. 85 to 90 for you guys. Yeah. That's not hot. Well oh no, well, that's hot. That's hot true. We're talking about the Tisler now in Indiana. Yeah. What?

SPEAKER_06

All right, where, all right, what what town is Pancake Lake in?

SPEAKER_01

Uh Killarney, Manitoba.

SPEAKER_06

Kearney. Yeah. There you go. Manitoba. Okay. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

You're gonna prove me wrong here.

SPEAKER_06

Right, right. No, I'm not proving you wrong. We're gonna do it. Yeah, 65 right now. Well, it is 90 on Saturday. Yeah, it's 82% humidity right now. Yeah, okay. Yeah, beautiful.

SPEAKER_01

That's the killer is the humidity. Like, and it anytime we get warm here, it's it's humid. Yeah. What are our winds looking like the weekends?

SPEAKER_06

Um it it says seven mile an hour on Saturday, 15 Friday, and nine on Sundays, 10 to 10 to 15, right?

SPEAKER_01

So I need to put some smaller targets up maybe for Saturday. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Y'all normally have a little more wind.

SPEAKER_01

We do, yeah. Yeah. Um, man, the one year we had on Sunday, we had 28 to 32 mile an hour winds, and then uh we finished in time, and literally, as everybody was packing up their trucks, there was a dust storm that came through. Like something from Hollywood. You could see it coming from the west, and it was just a wall of freaking dust, and it was horrible. Like we got done uh prizes presentation, and everybody was out of there as quick as you could. Like it was it was bad. So we yeah, we see some wind. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Does the dust storm happen regularly, once a year, or well is that like a once-in-a-lifetime thing that you saw?

SPEAKER_01

So we were running the match in uh early June then. So crops still aren't, you know, very tall, and you still get lots of dust from the field. Now it wouldn't happen just because there's so much vegetation on the fields and stuff, but um we did have another bad one actually this spring too that was much the same. There was so every once in a while it seems, yeah. Okay, yeah, okay. I'm hoping for good weather. Last year was rain on Sunday. Last year was was not very nice, but it seems to be the trend in Manit or in Canada for matches this year. Rain matches. Yeah, Cactus Cup was horrible. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Yep. Yep. That was the one uh Noel won, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I heard about that. Just absolutely brutal.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah. Oh well. That's the way it goes. Yeah. Can't predict the weather.

SPEAKER_06

I mean, precision rain series some weekends. Yeah. Um Adam, uh it looks like uh actually, it looks like cooler weather than usual, right? Because it's usually 90 to 100 high humidity.

SPEAKER_09

We're kind of yeah, we're kind of looking out. I mean, Fred and I were out there this weekend, you know, buttoning up the buttoning up the course fire, moving a few targets around. And Saturday, I believe the heat index was like 105. And then Sunday, it was Sunday it was better. Um, but looking looking forward to next weekend, it like it looks like the humidity is going to be down a little bit, and the heat index is going to be right around the high temp, which you know is like upper eighties on Saturday and low 90s on Sunday. Um, so it it has been and definitely could be a lot worse.

SPEAKER_06

Oh yeah. I mean, I mean, looking at Thursday, Friday weather where it's 78 or 79, low mid-50s, can you imagine?

SPEAKER_03

No, I I thought I looked up the wrong Butlerville when I looked at it like earlier today. I was like, oh, that's the wrong spot. And I was like, wait a minute.

SPEAKER_09

I'm really kind of hoping that I'm really kind of hoping that weather pattern pushes back a couple of days. Friday. I mean, Friday for the tune-up looks awesome. Yeah. Unbelievable. Unbelievably good.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_09

Yeah. Unfortunately, well, fortunately for the shooters, I guess. I mean, the wind is like nothing. Um, I think it's going to be like five miles an hour all weekend.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_09

Okay. So we're expecting some some high scores.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. And uh, I guess go ahead and explain, explain the the range. I mean, you did this back in in February, yeah, March when we did this, but yeah, explain kind of the layout and all that.

SPEAKER_09

Yeah, so it's I mean, it's literally a field match. Um, we're in the middle of what used to be a hundred-acre bean field. Um you know, it's since it's since been uh planted in in grass for the cows, and it, you know, it gets it's a it's a full-time membership range now, uh two-A farms. Um you know, it gets cut several times a year uh and baled. Um hopeful, hopefully he's not giving the cows lead poisoning. But uh, you know, we've put a bunch of berms up out there and done a ton of work to the firing line. We've got asphalt millings on the firing line now. Um the big change for this match is that yeah, that's a picture on Google Maps. Oh, yeah. Yeah, that teardrop shaped field right behind the firing line. Yeah, that is the new parking area.

SPEAKER_08

Okay, awesome.

SPEAKER_09

So instead of shooters having to work walk 200 yards down the tree line from the pasture, they're gonna pull right up our commodity there.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Oh, that's that's huge for me. Yeah.

SPEAKER_09

Yep. Yeah, yep. But uh, yeah, I mean, our biggest concern um, you know, Sundays when we were proofing this thing was all the all the damn smoke coming down from Canada. Uh oh my gosh, dude.

SPEAKER_00

Oh dude.

SPEAKER_09

And I I know I know we don't have it as bad as you guys, you guys have had it, but like there were some targets. I mean, these targets are painted white against a green grass backdrop from like shooting up on one of the towers. And you couldn't see like there was just this haze in the air. And there were several targets that we couldn't find them, you know, through the scope. Yeah. Um, and you barely see them through binos. So, you know, we had to we didn't really move anything, but we, you know, kind of outlined the white targets in red paint, and that made them pop quite a bit more. Um, but that that's uh from what I'm seeing, that's supposed to be out of here by the weekend. Um and you know, be a lot clearer.

SPEAKER_06

So it I'm trying to find a map.

SPEAKER_03

Like on my Yeah, I didn't think it had gone that far south, obviously. Uh it did.

SPEAKER_06

It's absolutely wild here in Wisconsin.

SPEAKER_09

One of the wildest things I've ever seen. We uh we were proofing stages and we've got these head targets in in Fred's old mud electric van out there in the field. And Sunday we go to shoot this stage, and I'm looking through the binos, and I'm like, Fred, where's the where's the head in the back door of that van? And he looks and he's like, I don't know, it rained last night. Did it did it fall over? You know, and so like we we drive out there in the side by side, and we're like 50 yards away, and I'm like, I don't even see a post. And we get 40 yards away, and Fred's like, I see the post, but there's no head on it. And we get like 20 feet away from this van. And we get like 20 feet from this van, and the head just appears. Like there was this white haze behind it, and you just it it's the most insane thing I've ever seen, you know, getting out there. Um and it just it was like a ghost, it just appeared out of nowhere.

SPEAKER_06

That's wild. It it man, it's been it's crazy. Like as soon as the wind started, you know, and most of these are north of Minnesota. Um and and you know, I I guess that's Manitoba, right? Um Ontario. It's between like uh well, yeah, I guess it's Ontario on the far western end Ontario. But like um it got really bad. I mean, like, and I I'm not really sensitive to a lot of this stuff, but like I last week Thursday, I was outside for an hour and I was just talking to one of my neighbors, and then and that was at like the noon hour, and then I went back in, started doing some more work. I could not drink enough water throughout the day. It like my throat hurt. I was like, man, that's crazy. Like it's actually that bad outside, you know, and the air quality index, you know, yeah, which whatever. You look at it and you're like, well, they're over-exaggerating things. I was like, no, no, no, that's legit. You know, I'm glad we weren't having a match during that. Yeah. But then it blew like south. Like the wind were winds were coming from the northwest, and it kind of blew everything, everything south. And then I think it was Saturday we were out, and uh the wind switched and it got really calm for a little bit, and then things were clear, and then the wind started blowing from the south, and it blew all the smoke back in. Like within an hour, it was like all the smoke's back. Wow. Hopefully, barrel maker time we won't have it. Hopefully, you won't have it this weekend, you know.

SPEAKER_09

Yeah, like I said, look looking at the forecast, they're they're saying that the rain midweek is supposed to, you know, kind of settle it, and there's a cold front coming in, you know, midweek that's gonna kind of settle all that stuff down. Awesome.

SPEAKER_06

So Dawson, where are the wires relative to where you're at? They're to the east, aren't they? To the east, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Manitoba's Manitoba's been wet this year. We've had lots of rain in the south. We've had some we had a nasty hail storm that come through uh first week of July. Everybody, like Killarney, it was just like a a a swath. It it literally bean fields and canola fields, it just looks like they've been harvested. Everything was gone. Everybody's vehicles. Because of hail? Because of hail, yeah. Everybody's vehicles are smashed and houses wrecked, and I've got some insurance claims going. So we've had lots of rain and some hail, so nothing really for fires, no major fires in Manitoba, anyways. Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Unreal.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Unreal. So so will you have lots of mirage to to deal with during the match?

SPEAKER_01

Typically we don't.

SPEAKER_06

I'm gonna need you a second here.

SPEAKER_01

Typically we don't, actually. Um I had uh I had one stage that I wanted to shoot to the north. That was gonna be um about half a mile across a a canola field. Um and it was looking really, really good. Uh, and that where the match site is didn't get hail, but got lots of rain, and there is like a bumper crop of canola there. So it it has just grown too much, and and I won't be able to see the targets anymore. So I think that stage probably would have had some mirage, but uh for the most part, it's usually pretty good. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Adam, a little different story down there in the uh two-way farms. Seems like it's Mirage is the one thing you just got on the old, right?

SPEAKER_04

Yep.

SPEAKER_06

Yep.

SPEAKER_09

Yeah, we try, I mean, we try to elevate, we try to elevate things as much as we can. Um some of the props that have high and low positions, you know, we're trending more towards um shooting the shooting the taller positions. Um you know, we've got two towers and a and a connex to shoot off of to get up out of it, but there's just some of the sta there's a few of the stages that it's gonna be an issue. You know, guys are gonna have to guys are gonna have to really watch their bullets, um you know, because they'll just and and some of the targets are are kind of skinny vertically, so uh we've got a lot of animal targets and guessing chewing bars. Um fortunately the Turing bars we shoot from you know, an elevated position typically, so are y'all thinking of putting the mover in or how's it running these days? No, we and until until you know we find the time to install a a concrete foundation mover, you know, kind of like what I built at Red Brush, or probably similar to what Shannon has down at KM. We're just not we're not messing with them. I mean, we've had so many movers that have have just failed, you know, or they'll they'll go down in the middle of the match. And there's nothing I hate more than having to throw out a stage in a match. So we're just we're over the movers until we get something bulletproof built.

SPEAKER_03

How many matches are are running movers now in States KM Alabama, yeah, just a few in the probably mainly in the southeast. Matt does.

SPEAKER_01

We had run one up at MKM, right?

SPEAKER_09

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Yep. We had run one uh for a few years as well, and it was always bulletproof. Um we never had any issues, but like you, Adam, it's it don't ever want to have to throw a stage out. And and it's been good for years and years and years, but um that's not something you can just swap a target on and and keep going. If it fails, you yeah, you gotta toss it.

SPEAKER_09

Yeah, the one I built at the one I built at Red Brush is on a vertical concrete wall, and the the track is like two pieces of inch and a half uh round pipe, and it's got two V groove rollers on the top and one on the bottom, and kind of a triangular-shaped trolley, and it it just that thing just runs. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Let's um here we're gonna why don't we do some picks here? Uh the four of us. I'm gonna and I have to usually I just go last. Um you guys can see my screen. Usually I do.

SPEAKER_09

You go last so you can you can get the first double pick.

SPEAKER_06

I do. That is a hundred percent true. Uh no, no joke. Um why don't we do this? I'm just gonna have Excel do uh random number generation for the four of us. Um we'll go lowest number to highest number in that order. Uh if there's a tie, I'll run it again and the lowest number for those two. Okay. So oh, and I guess we're going three decimal places. So it's not likely to be a. Oh, and at three.

SPEAKER_03

Wow. How about that?

SPEAKER_06

That's crazy then. So there must be something in Excel for yeah, I got 0.33. And Adam's got 1.97. Or should I should I do it one more time? Would one more time seem fair?

SPEAKER_08

Oh no, I that's fine. I don't know.

SPEAKER_06

No, I'm not going. Okay. All right. I was just teasing. There we go, Ken. Well, you weren't wrong though. It may have generated your hit.

SPEAKER_03

It may have generated your hit percentage, Ken. 33. That that might be your your hit percentage in PRS.

SPEAKER_06

Could be. You know, wait till wait. Yeah, we'll prove that when we get when we get Especially if you shoot sportsmen. No, I think I'm gonna try open. I think I'm gonna shoot open. I think I'm actually gonna I'm gonna put my best foot forward. Um all right, so I'm just gonna delete this out of here. So can't Adam, Jeff, and Dawson uh clear those out. All right. All right. Um on the left is the pick. Can you guys see that all right? I'll zoom in a little bit further here. Boy, I can't. Uh picks for this weekend. Okay. Oh boy. Um here. I make it a little bit bigger. I usually sort them so you got pros, semi-pros, marksman, am, and then we got a bunch of them class guys. So uh Dawson, explain that to me. So um are most of these guys just Canadian shooters that are like, hey, there's a match in my backyard. Of course I'm gonna be there.

SPEAKER_01

They are, yeah. Um cool. And it took a while for the Pro Series to get going in Canada, right? Um, you know, Apex was 2024 was their first match, and then uh a few last year. Um so I think it's just taken taken a while for guys.

SPEAKER_06

They had a huge match, they had a huge match this year. I mean, everything was heavily attended. Yeah, it was big, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so I think that's why.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. Okay. Okay. Um so Keith Baker, Chris Hallion, Michael Bay, Noel Grizzly, Sam Gearing, uh, man, even the semi-pros are pretty good here. Adam Glenn. Jeff Scoby, Rusty Thriller. Um, I feel compelled to take Keith Baker two weeks in a row, right?

SPEAKER_03

Um Yeah, I don't know why you're taking so long.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I was I was texting him earlier today. I don't know. He didn't seem too enthused about it. I can show you his text messages. If I wouldn't pick him if I was you, I wouldn't pick him up.

SPEAKER_03

We talked to him earlier. We know how enthused he is.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. Yeah. Dawson's gonna, yeah, he's pointing him down and uh completely blew my plan right out of the water.

SPEAKER_01

Thanks a lot. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Adam, who you who are you taking? Uh I'm I'm taking Baker. Two weeks in a row. Okay.

SPEAKER_03

I I thought I was gonna be taking Sam, but I'll take Noel.

SPEAKER_06

You're taking Noel, I think. Uh yeah. I agree with all three of those.

SPEAKER_03

I think he won last time I picked him, so I'm at least off to a better start.

SPEAKER_06

Yep. Chris or Michael or Scoby? Who are you going? Are you going to take the Canadian Scoby? I think that would be a good pick too.

SPEAKER_01

For me, if you're asking me, my turn. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. You get two. You get two.

SPEAKER_01

I get two. Okay, well, um, I here's what we're gonna do. Uh so I got this this stupid coin. It's a it's a Canadian toonie. So this is a two-dollar coin. I'm sure you guys would love this thing. So the heads is heads. And the other one is a polar bear, so tails is a polar bear. So heads, uh, Jeff, you can call it. Heads will be Jeff Scoby, and tails will be Chris Hoyen. Okay. So I'll flip it. And you can call it Jeff. Tails. Tails. It it's a tails polar bear. So that's Chris Hoyen, right? Yep. Okay, so then I get one more pick.

SPEAKER_07

You do.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, we're gonna go down the list to that unclassed section, the big list at the bottom. Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah. You know what? I I gotta pick an underdog. Um find Kyle Hosluck on there. See where he is.

SPEAKER_06

Right here.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. So yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Kyle Hosseluk. Give us his backstory. This is Kyle's uh preview of of Moment in the Spotlight.

SPEAKER_01

He's due. Um he uh he shoots well um and he's been practicing a lot and he's uh going to some American matches. Um he's always top three, it seems, in Manitoba. Um he's due. Yeah, I know how how hard he works, and and uh yeah, he's a he's a good shooter. He was uh uh finished 20th, I think, this past weekend.

SPEAKER_06

Here he is. That's the that's the guy. Yeah, he's from Miami. Manitoba. Manitoba, yeah. Little different climate, yeah. A little different.

SPEAKER_01

So to Tika?

SPEAKER_06

Is that you think that's true? Tika and six stats?

SPEAKER_01

It is true, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Okay, yeah, you betcha.

SPEAKER_01

So I'm gonna go with Kyle. He's due.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. Okay. Um yeah, he was fifth at Sapral Cactus Cup, and that was an absolutely brutal match. Yeah. Um 20th last weekend at THS.

SPEAKER_01

And he had a really good match at Saprol. There was the Sunday. There was a couple stages on the Sunday that um, yeah, I mean, everybody had those stages on Sunday, but yeah. Yep.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. Okay. All right. Well, there we go. We got a we got a new person to consider, Kyle Hoselick. Okay. Good luck this weekend, Kyle. Jeff Geary, you you want me to stick down by the unclassed people? Are you gonna pull somebody out?

SPEAKER_03

I'd take a recommendation, but uh for my next one, I'll probably do. I'll take Michael, Michael Bay there.

SPEAKER_06

Michael Bay, okay. You stick, you're taking a last pro class.

SPEAKER_03

Pro guy. Just gotta keep those pros feeling loved. There you go. Adam.

SPEAKER_09

I'm gonna take Scoby. Damn it. Yes.

SPEAKER_06

He's been shooting well too. Like, let's let's actually take take a look at Scobie real quick.

SPEAKER_01

He's been he's been on fire.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. Yeah. Well, he shot a ton this spring, right? He he was all over the south shooting. Uh let's see here. Um definitely trending. Yeah. Oh January, February, March. Oh, yeah. He was at Clays, MDT Barrel Burner, Snake River. I mean, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, you nine PRS matches. So like, yeah. Yeah, we're in the seventh. Last weekend, yeah, trending.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, so those are just pro series matches that you had that up there, Ken? Yeah, yeah, and he's been choosing the pro series. Ton of regional matches and rim fire matches, too. Yeah. He's got he's got to be ready to go on around. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. Yeah. All right, we'll get regionally. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

This is back to back to back matches weekends. That's a lot.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. Yeah. Is that good or bad, Jeff? You're the only one in this crowd that could attest to the city.

SPEAKER_03

Well, it depends on me. He's trending. If the first two go well, sometimes, you know, I've I've had it go both ways.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Oh boy. Okay. Yeah. I was chatting with Jeff uh earlier today, um, getting his sense on how he was feeling, but you guys picked him before I could. And and uh, you know, I was asking whether it'd be him or or Hoyen. And uh so Jeff was the driver on the way back from their match, and uh he he said shooting three weekends in a row seemed like a good idea at the time, but he's he's a little pooped. And but then he says Chris got lots of sleep on the way home, so maybe I should pick Chris. So it worked worked out. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

This this is the winner of Josh. I'm getting picked second. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

I um I'm doing a little bit of poking around real quick here. I was looking at Onchuck and El Art. Uh Ewart, Ewart probably. Uh both those guys have been top 25 or so.

SPEAKER_03

A different Eric Eric Zatto. I definitely know that name. Did you look him up?

SPEAKER_06

Uh Eric Zatto. Yeah, I have seen that name recently. Let's take a look. I should probably here.

SPEAKER_01

I'll just do this. There's a lot of names that are coming to Pancake uh this weekend in the I didn't know. 15 Americans coming, so that's awesome.

SPEAKER_06

That is that is good. Yep. Well, 8175. He's only really shot this year, it looks like. Well, I mean, this doesn't go back yet, so I'm working on it. How about owlsworth? Dustin 2547. Is that a 2547 uh gonna be the the caliber to win it?

SPEAKER_07

I don't know.

SPEAKER_06

New York Lakes Mills, Minnesota. He's done well up there. Um all right, I'll stop wasting our time here. Um one more we don't make both is there, an impact scoring. Um Ernst, there's a lot of both is yeah, right?

SPEAKER_01

Ernst is solid too. He uh um he's put up some good scores too. Okay. He's from South Africa. Oh yeah. Yeah, he uh been in Canada here for about 12 or 10 10 or 12 years.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah I'm taking him. Ernst here, my guy this weekend. We're gonna do that. Taking a marksman here, and I got another one I'm gonna take Rusty from Oh, wait, wait, wait, wait. Oh, no.

SPEAKER_03

I've been known to miss that. I didn't even see that again.

SPEAKER_06

Uh that was close. Uh it was close. All right, let me. Estelle Boone. That sounds familiar too. Um she's from Canada. She, I think, I think Estelle is on a Canadian uh team too, right? For IPRF? Yeah. Yep. Alright.

SPEAKER_07

Well, just we're gonna go with her. Uh I lost her here, Estelle. Here we go. All right, back to Adam.

SPEAKER_09

Uh I think I'm gonna pull a clay, and uh based on name alone, I'm gonna take Buster Volmer.

SPEAKER_06

Buster. Where did I uh do I go down? Oh yeah, Buster Volmer.

SPEAKER_01

There he is, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Um hold on. Uh let's let's see if Buster's got any uh any history yet. I like the strategy though. Buster Volmer. He's got a profile picture.

SPEAKER_01

That's a good start.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, there's some history. Uh oh, okay, but he doesn't he doesn't have any PRS history. He's got Precision Rifle Outlaw ID and Western Precision Rifle, which that's a that's a tough organization to shoot in. Um PRS regional series 11.

SPEAKER_09

A lot of matches there.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. Well, and this is all this this year.

SPEAKER_07

So yeah, he's not West shooter.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_07

Ton of matches. My dark horse. Okay. Okay.

SPEAKER_06

I like it. Uh all right, Buster.

SPEAKER_03

Dawson, you got any more unclassed kind of sleepers down there?

SPEAKER_01

I'm gonna I'm gonna go with Hunter on track.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, you're gonna go with Hunter. I need to do something for myself. Uh well. I'll save that if that's who he wants.

SPEAKER_06

Let's go with Adam Glatt.

SPEAKER_08

I mean, he is I'll take I'll take Adam.

SPEAKER_06

Let's let's uh let's give Adam a moment here. Um uh Rimfire shooter.

SPEAKER_08

Okay. Good rim fire shooter.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, yeah. Super good. One, two, two. It's it's airful.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, we'll take it.

SPEAKER_06

There you go. I man, I miss our old profiles where you could see all this stuff, but so that's coming back. But I, you know, where you see like, oh, they've shot 125 matches, and you look, and it's 40 Rimfire, 40 Regional, 40 Pro Series, you know, and you get the whole picture.

SPEAKER_08

Sure.

SPEAKER_06

Uh Dawson, you get a couple picks here. Um, you're gonna take Hunter on truck, right?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I jumped a gun there here. I thought it was my turn, but it was Jeff's turn. Good thing he didn't take it a turn. Yeah, I definitely didn't do that. No, no, Jeff wouldn't do that. Jeff's Jeff's a gentleman. All right, so Hunter. Um scroll down a little bit for me there.

SPEAKER_06

Oh, back to the unclassed.

SPEAKER_01

Yeesh.

SPEAKER_06

Oh.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, Kip a little, I'll go down a little further in the unclassed. I got one in mind that's uh classic. Uh Frank Heisler is is always a good shooter. He's pretty steady. Not yet. Well, no, I just wanted to give him a shout-out there. Yeah. Uh let's go back up and go to Kelby Kelby Hammer.

SPEAKER_03

Hammer.

SPEAKER_08

Oh, that's right.

SPEAKER_03

I was about to pick that just on name alone.

SPEAKER_08

That hammer.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

I think uh that name is really from Midwest.

SPEAKER_01

He's he's an MD as well. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Okay. Yeah, all right. So I mean he shot a decent number of pro matches here. He's got he's got three. THS, Little Pool, old Central. Then trending upward. Well, no, uh THS, but okay.

SPEAKER_07

Kelby Hammer. Congrats. Uh, where did he go? There he is. Okay, back to Jeff.

SPEAKER_03

Alright, one more. Let's throw in. You know what? I'm gonna take Rusty, even though he's tactical. No joke, okay.

SPEAKER_08

We're to we're we're letting him join this team.

SPEAKER_07

Adam. I'm just looking around here.

SPEAKER_09

What a find a John Penner in the list there.

SPEAKER_07

What divisions he shoots. Is it P-I-P-P-I-N? P-E-N-N-E-R. Yeah. John Penner, unclassed. Open. Open, stop taking. Taking them.

SPEAKER_06

Do we want to look him up?

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, who is that?

SPEAKER_06

Yeah.

SPEAKER_09

He just shows two pro matches on his profile. He finished 20th at Pang or at uh Apex.

SPEAKER_06

Oh, at Apex. Yeah. How did you find him? Did you just keep clicking, clicking, clicking, clicking.

SPEAKER_09

I was just scrolling through names. Yep. Yep.

SPEAKER_06

Nice pick. Good luck, John. Yep. I'm gonna take uh I saw him here, Mike uh Aichelman. He's actually from uh from the Midwest here. So I'll take him as my last pick. Awesome. All right. Um let's uh here let me hit save on this. And then let's move over to Sack Sizzler. Um so we'll go in this order here. Looks like I am dead last now, so it'll go Adam.

SPEAKER_08

Adam, me.

SPEAKER_06

Yep, Dawson Ken.

SPEAKER_07

Yep. Adam, Jeff, Dawson.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, every time I hit a key or enter or something like that, it just redoes that. So all right. We oh man, uh, Adam, you you have 134 coming, 133. Now, I do notice on here, uh, where was it? Both you and Fred were signed up for this match. Yeah, Fred Mudd and Adam Wienberger. Yeah, we should be out of there now. Oh why why were you in there to begin with? Just see if registration works.

SPEAKER_09

Uh no. That put us in there and we proof the coursifier and score ourselves in impact. Uh uh just as just as we're going through. And then uh I I didn't I didn't do well. Uh and and and and and Fred would probably kill me if I tell people how he shot, so no, there were uh there were some there were some hiccups. Uh we changed a few stages after shooting them, just you know, realizing that yeah, these are probably a a little on the difficult side. Um Okay. I mean, I think I think Fred dropped in the neighborhood of 23. Um But they were it was like they're all on it on a couple of stages that were just really asinine, you know, like we we were a little overzealous in in our stage design. And after shooting them, we're like, eh, we'll we'll we'll ease up on this a little bit.

SPEAKER_07

Yep. Too much. Yep. Yep.

SPEAKER_06

Love it. All right. Well, let's let's take a look. So Adam, you get you get first overall pick here, and there is 38 pros. Wow. Yeah, it's field. Don't be s yeah, don't be surprised. I mean, like next year, this year you had what, five or six pros. Uh, I mean, you probably have double that next year, and double that the year after, you know. I mean, that's just kind of the way things go.

SPEAKER_01

I was I was just thinking that I'm gonna have a hard time uh coming up with some picks, all these new names for me down there. All the pros. You guys got the inside scoop here. I recognize a few of them. You'll be fine. Yeah.

SPEAKER_07

You'll be you'll be fine. Yeah. Yeah. Yep.

SPEAKER_09

Man, I'm gonna take uh I'm gonna take my boy Chad Heckler on this one. He's he's podiumed at every match we've held. And he's he's just due. You know, he's he's do. I know he's been put I know he's been putting in the work. And uh he's getting ready for worlds and I think I think he can pull it off. Nothing nothing against Jeff, but you know, if Jeff was a hundred percent, I may say Jeff.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I wonder, yeah, if I saw Chad shooting open, though, I wonder if he's shooting his 308, but just in open.

SPEAKER_06

Uh he might be, because he talked about running like the two tens or something like that. Big heavy 308 bullets. Yeah, just to see. Yeah. I mean it. And heavy mirage. We shall see. We shall see.

SPEAKER_03

Alt uh, I'm gonna take Ben Gossett, defending champ. I believe he won last year.

SPEAKER_07

Yep. He did. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

That's a good pick. Could have won handily. I believe he dropped a few on the last stage. Oh, he did. And made it close.

SPEAKER_09

He did. He did that for you guys. Uh, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Dawson? Uh, I got one in mind. Uh scroll down a little bit for me there. Okay, that's good.

SPEAKER_07

There's a lot of good shooters that are gonna be there, too.

SPEAKER_01

I'm kidding. I'm kidding. Uh, you know what? I'm gonna pick Fraser McKenzie.

SPEAKER_06

Um you can't pick a US guy, can you?

SPEAKER_01

Uh unintended, but yeah. Thanks for pointing that out. Yeah. I've I've shot a couple matches with Fraser now, and uh oh man, he is he is a blast to shoot with. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

He could absolutely do it, right? Yeah, yeah. He's good, good, good fella, and man, he he's been close.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, we were in Iowa. He shot our last two.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_06

We were what did you say, Dawson, Iowa?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Iowa. So uh yeah, squadding with him, and he was he was talking to Justin and he's like, You're hitting the water tower. You you got the water tower. Water tower? He's like, what do you what do you mean the water tower? He's like, yeah, the water tower, right under the target. You're getting the water tower. Oh, you're hitting the T-post, you mean? Yeah, the T-post. Oh, man.

SPEAKER_09

And he's been he's been at our last two matches, and he hangs up, you know, Saturday evening and and drinks way too much with bread. And he is just yeah, he's a hoot to be around. He's a lot of fun.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_09

Last year at uh at Frostbite, it was it was him and Seppo and Oh, that's a combo.

SPEAKER_07

They were a handful together.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. We drinks at the hotel afterwards, and he was sitting there and he grabbed one of the somebody's game changer bags. I won't say what brand it was, and he grabs this thing, he's like, Whose bag is this? It's like a bloody turkey. He's like shaking it around. He's like, squeeze, it's like a freaking turkey. Whose bag is this?

SPEAKER_06

You got the accent down for sure.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Yeah. There was a few other phrases in there I kept a little PG, but yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Oh man. I'm taking a look at the semi-pros here too. I mean, there's like Gabrielle Dallas, like he could he could easily do well here. Cody Hongler shot really well last week in New York. Um man. Eddie Foss now. Love that guy. I haven't seen him in probably three years. Um he comes down to your match.

SPEAKER_09

Pretty much about he shoots about all of our right now. He shoots like almost every one of our regional matches.

SPEAKER_06

No joke. Oh man. Okay. Um and I uh Derek Warren here, Dave O. We could we're gonna do five picks. Um just saying that right now. Um because there's there's too many guys on my own. Way too much goodness in there. Yeah, seriously. Seriously. Alright. Um I'm gonna take two in a row, and I'm gonna take both Josh's from up this way, edged and Ulicky.

SPEAKER_03

Coming off good matches, both of them.

SPEAKER_06

Both of them are. I yeah. We're gonna see how they do. All right, back to you, Dawson. Uh I didn't identify anybody. Steppo coming.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, see if we can get an all-international team. Yep.

SPEAKER_01

Yep. Okay, uh, uh scroll down for me there. There's a name that caught my my eye. Uh, that's good. Matt Sabaka?

SPEAKER_06

Matt Sabaka. I figured that's who you were taking. Because you said Iowa earlier, and I could I mean Matt could easily, easily do well here. Yeah.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_09

You missed a boat there. We had uh Teresa in there as well.

SPEAKER_07

Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Um, Ken, I think I'm gonna selfishly take myself just so I can be on the same team as Ben Gossett.

SPEAKER_06

I love it. You don't even have I mean You could be shameful about that.

SPEAKER_03

I would absolutely if I was as good as you, I would absolutely get myself for the fourth round, but I didn't want to wait in case, so we'll take myself now.

SPEAKER_06

Okay. Adam, you get two here.

unknown

Oh

SPEAKER_09

Man, I was torn between two, so I guess that that helps me out a bunch. I'm gonna take uh Levi Wilson.

SPEAKER_07

Levi. Yeah. Yep. And he is shot well there a lot. Yeah, he won, he won uh he won one of them.

SPEAKER_09

I was thinking he won Sizzler last year, but I think that was Gossett, so Levi must have been the year before.

SPEAKER_03

He he won the frostbite one, I think, last year. Okay. Because it was early.

SPEAKER_09

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, February match maybe. I I shot with him that weekend. I'll I'll never forget, yeah, being that shocks that Levi just kept hitting targets.

SPEAKER_09

For my next one, um I'm gonna take my boy Corey Frederick.

SPEAKER_07

Corey Frederick.

SPEAKER_09

Yep. Local? Corey, yeah, he's a local guy. Um, but man, he always shoots well there. He's he's finished in the top five um maybe once and and taken, you know, top marksman or semi-pro one year. He just always shoots well there.

SPEAKER_06

Let's see. Oh, Corey is doing this year here. Uh Vortex Vengeance, he was third. That's a good qualifier score. Uh Kallas, he was 14th. 18 PRC, he was 15th. Yeah, he's top 20 at everything.

SPEAKER_08

Taking a couple months off. He's ready to go.

SPEAKER_09

There you go. Yeah, he shot he shot our regional match um on Sunday and tied with Lane Shelley for the win. So he's still he's still shooting good.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. Yeah. Speaking of Lane Shelley, Jeff, who are you taking next?

SPEAKER_03

I will torn. Let me take Derek Warren, just because he he's in my squad this coming week. I think I can guide him, guide him along.

SPEAKER_01

That was literally who I was just looking up, Jeff. I was just pulling his stats up.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, he's he's got well lately. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, no kidding.

SPEAKER_06

Um there, this is absolutely Derek's course of fire, right? Like he has seemed to have uh scored well at uh he won the frostbite.

SPEAKER_09

So that's right. He did win frostbite there, and then he got set second last couple weeks at twist a barrel.

SPEAKER_08

Yep.

SPEAKER_07

And I have an odd time.

SPEAKER_09

That's something about our our match. It's like our course fire really straightforward. Um we don't we don't throw a lot of mind games in there. Like we want to keep it simple and we put out a lot of targets. You know, we there's eighteen stages, there's only two single target stages. So perfect.

SPEAKER_07

Everything is troop lines or big small or yeah.

SPEAKER_06

One frostbite, second at uh twisted barrel, fourth at uh Hodgson. Yeah, he's yeah. The old mighty meat truck ready to go.

SPEAKER_00

Oh chase Yeah, we're good.

SPEAKER_06

That's his handle. Yep. All right.

SPEAKER_01

Dawson, you figured out what's Chet Winkler been doing lately? Has he been shooting much?

SPEAKER_06

Oh, that's my pick. Yeah, that'd be good. I saw Chet today. Oh yeah. He stops by the office once in a while. Um, that's an unforgettable name, isn't it? That would have been my next pick.

SPEAKER_01

But him and Josh were on the pancake last year and uh first and second. So yeah, I'm gonna take Chet. Um Josh Josh did, and Chet was second. No, no, no, that's right. I got that backwards. Josh was second. I got that backwards.

SPEAKER_06

You're right. Yep. Yep. Chet Wenkler is the first uh Wisconsin shooter to win a pro series match, and that was last year, panickly. Yeah, nice. Yeah. Um dang it. So I was gonna try to do like an all Wisconsin thing here. Um I think I'm out of pro-Wisconsin, but Keith Rudisil is still there, too.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Mike, yeah. I I take, yeah. Sorry, I probably just curse cursed Keith's weekend there. I hope so. You know what I've done?

SPEAKER_03

David's shooting too good. He's doing off. He needs one off week.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. I'm gonna take Dave O. I feel like I pick him all the time too, and I love both those guys. So that's we're gonna do that.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Dave O shoots good over to Dawson. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, I mean, it's kind of his home range, right? It he's a Ohio. His other home range MKM and and Indiana.

SPEAKER_01

It's back to me, or back to me.

SPEAKER_06

Back to Dawson.

SPEAKER_01

Let's go down that list a little bit. Um, I gotta go all the way down to like a uh uh unclassed name here. I did that in our back. No, I don't go now to Mark Dog. Oh my god. Oh no Wow. I like the underdog, but that might be just silly. Uh no, go back to pick Mark Gordon.

SPEAKER_06

It's Sach Matt. Is he could you could buy a bunch of points, Mark Gordon, the owner of Sach.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know who that is, but uh uh uh Isaac Schur, didn't you have him on the other day?

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, that's true.

SPEAKER_03

It's is Isaac on I just saw him the there was Isaac Schnurr.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. Yeah. What do you think? Maybe if we're going for top juniors, you know, that would be a good pick.

SPEAKER_01

Pick it, put it on there.

SPEAKER_06

You're taking them. I love it. Sure. Yep. It's actually Schnurr, not sure. I've just had this point. Um Jeff, back to you.

SPEAKER_03

Oh boy, I got a lot of. I'm gonna take Lane. I had my eye on Lane Shelley if he was there when it came around. So he's uh uh 17. There he is.

SPEAKER_06

Yep, 17. Thank you. Okay. Adam, you get the last two picks here, and then it's Jeff Dawson, me. Yeah.

SPEAKER_09

My next one is gonna be a semi-pro. Um my boy Matt Matt Hazinga.

SPEAKER_07

Hazinga.

SPEAKER_09

Uh Hazinga. He's been shooting really, really well. I love it. Okay, and then you get one more. And then my next one was also a semi-pro that could win the match is uh Jake Simmons.

SPEAKER_07

Jake Simmons. Okay. Jeff Geary.

SPEAKER_03

I'm uh rounded out with Grace. Give me Grace Vaughn. Grace Bond. Yeah.

unknown

Uh sorry.

SPEAKER_03

Almost took Connor. They were neck and neck next to each other, but uh I hadn't picked Grace. I'll take her.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_09

This this almost feels like I'm this almost feels like I'm slapping all these people in the face.

SPEAKER_01

There's so many good show ones that nobody well if Jeff was a toss-up between uh Hunter and Grace, then I'll I'll snag Hunter there 13.

SPEAKER_06

Hunter Neil?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. Yeah. He's a he's a junior too, I believe. Um he will yeah, he will shoot well. He'll he'll be up there. Um I man, I Jerry Swollen, I want to give him a shout out. Like it seems like Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_03

He podiumed it twisted barrel a couple weeks ago.

SPEAKER_06

Twisted Barrel, yeah. Um and this this this could be his sort of his course, you know what? I'm just gonna take him. The other the other guy I was thinking of is Rob Torzeppa, who is a uh semi-pro. Um I hope I don't regret not taking Rob here, but man, he's been he's been shooting well too, and he could easily pull out a top five.

SPEAKER_03

So yeah, we probably there's a podium guy that's still on the board. Oh, I guarantee it.

SPEAKER_06

Oh, yeah. That's why I had this unpicked year. I mean, look at sheepdog.

SPEAKER_07

She's probably like Ted Hague.

SPEAKER_06

Four, five, six, seven, eight, ten. Yeah. Yeah, Ted could do it. Yep. Yeah. Uh THS unpicked, three, five, seven, nine.

unknown

Yep.

SPEAKER_06

Chris Hoyen and Jeff Scoby. You know, no respect last week. But yeah, there's unpicked every every week. 257 from Hornady, Punisher was six, seven, eight, nine, ten. No.

SPEAKER_07

So I I I bet Pancake Lake. I bet we got it covered.

SPEAKER_06

I bet top ten, maybe one or two.

SPEAKER_09

Yeah. That's the problem. The field's getting so the field's getting so deep nowadays that it's like there's just too many guys that that could pull it off on any given weekend. Yeah. Right.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. Yeah.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

We left a lot of talent out there. Lee Petros. That guy could be. Lee Petros, B.

SPEAKER_03

Wilson, he's been killing it. Fleener's he's always dangerous. I think Baldeez is he's gonna podium soon.

SPEAKER_06

Logan McGuinness, he just had a big finish too, didn't he?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, he shot well. It's his where I was in his squad. He shot quite well. He had a couple stages eat him up good, but other than that, he he shot real well.

SPEAKER_06

Um, where did McGuinness? Yeah, let's just bring up his profile. It's a hot pecking.

SPEAKER_09

Um I feel bad for not picking Braden.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, he's more than capable there. Yeah.

SPEAKER_09

Braden, he's yeah, he's my boy.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, Logan was top ten at Clinton House, 12th at MPA Spring, 14, 18. I mean, he he could he could easily slide in there, you know. He and he's got one, two, three. Well, here. Why am I not sharing? Uh one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine Pro Series matches, not including this weekend. That's you could do well. Well, man. Well, guys, it's been fun. Thank you for coming on tonight. Have a great weekend. Um, any last minute uh parting parting statements about your match or anything you want to get out there?

SPEAKER_09

Man, go ahead, Adam. We we still we still we still need a couple ROs. So if anybody hears anybody hears this on Friday and uh and wants to come help put a match on, uh be all for it. That's uh that's a that's a problem that's ongoing. Um uh you know, just finding finding finding enough people to run a match is just getting harder and harder.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. Yeah. Well, this will go out Thursday. So uh any benefits to ROs, right? Like what um uh how do you take care of them, et cetera?

SPEAKER_09

Like we we we lodge them all, we feed them all weekend. Um you know, they they walk the prize table, um, like at most matches, like every tenth shooter we draw an RO. Um you know, we we try to take care of them. Um, you know, we give them uh we give them a free match entry. So Okay.

SPEAKER_07

Um pretty decent. Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

We could use a couple more ROs too for pancake. We're I think we're I think we're pretty close. I think we're we can scounge. I might be able to convince my brother to come in RO, but we kind of do the same thing for Adam as Adam there. Um look after him, feed him for the weekend. Uh they can come out and shoot the Friday train up day. Um doesn't cost them anything to come and do that. And um yeah.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, that's what I forgot.

SPEAKER_09

That that's what I forgot. Levi Wilson and Braden Mann do a like a four or five hour uh free PRS training for all the ROs on Friday morning. So like all any of the ROs that are interested in in the sport, you know, they can come out and get one-on-one, or not one-on-one, but you know, ten-on-one training uh with Levi and Braden.

SPEAKER_07

So nice. Nice cool.

SPEAKER_01

I'm gonna give a quick shout-out to our uh title sponsor, Ken If I Can, Dominion Outdoors is uh sponsoring Pancake Lake uh this year. They're in Winkler, Manitoba, just across the border. So they're kind of the go-to supplier for PRS and shooting gear in Manitoba and Canada, honestly. Um yeah, they've been a bit big help to uh to pancake and keeping us going over the years. And uh them and Hardy Rifles. Everybody who comes on Friday gets a chance or doesn't get a chance, they can shoot a Hardy rifle from New Zealand. And uh we've got a bunch of uh uh Lapua factory ammo from Hearst Precision Precision on the East Coast here in Canada. So anybody can come out and shoot that thing, and yeah, it should be lots of fun. Nice. And that's from yeah, Hardy and then uh Wolverine Supplies in Verdon, Manitoba hooked me up with that. So yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Excellent. Excellent.

SPEAKER_09

Yeah, if you don't if you don't mind, I'd like to uh give a shout out to to uh Mark and Alan at SAC. You know, they've been they've been great to work with for this match every year. Yep, they'll both be there. The whole the whole SAC crew will be there. Um I think they got you know like 10 or 12 guys coming to shoot. Um and a big shout out to Tate at Impact. Tate's uh taking care of the lunches for the shooters on Saturday. So uh we got a we've got a local food truck that's doing fresh off the grill burgers and fries. Um we did that in February in the in March for the frostbite, and everybody said it was the best match lunch they'd ever had. So that'll be yeah, that'll be courtesy of tape. And uh and then just thanks to all the sponsors that have sent stuff for the prize table and and support all these matches. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Are your first three prizes one of those Nexus presses again?

SPEAKER_09

Uh oh yeah. Yeah, our our first, second, and third place trophies are our gold, silver, and bronze uh sack Nexus presses on on custom big dog steel stands.

SPEAKER_03

So yeah, those looked awesome. I wanted one and faltered a couple years ago, so I'll bring the the good rifle this weekend. You're gonna try extra hard. Extra.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, extra, extra. Yep.

SPEAKER_06

Yes, yep. Awesome. All right, guys. Thank you very much.

SPEAKER_01

Thanks, gents. Well, yeah, appreciate it.
