Welcome to Giving God PRAISE. This is a podcast where we walk through the entire Bible book by book and chapter by chapter. Our goal is to discover not only what God’s Word says, but what it means to praise God in our daily life. In each episode, we explore a Promise to Claim, a Response to Make, an Attitude to Change, an Instruction to Obey, a Sin to Confess, and an Example to Follow. So let’s go ahead and grab our Bibles and dive into today’s teaching.

Today we are studying Matthew Chapter 28. In this chapter, Jesus rises from the dead, appears to His followers, and gives the Great Commission—revealing His victory over death and His authority over all things, while calling us to go and make disciples.

First, we see a Promise to Claim. In Matthew 28:20 Jesus says, “And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” This promise reminds us that we are never alone. No matter where we go or what we face, Jesus is with us continually. His presence gives us strength, courage, and assurance in every season of life.

Next is a Response to Make. In Matthew 28:6 the angel declares, “He is not here! For He has been resurrected, just as He said. Come and see the place where He lay.” Our response is to believe in the resurrection. Jesus kept His word, and His victory over death confirms that He is who He says He is. We are called to trust Him fully and live in the power of that truth.

Now let’s consider an Attitude to Change. In Matthew 28:17 it says, “When they saw Him, they worshiped, but some doubted.” This challenges us to examine any doubt in our hearts. Even in the presence of truth, doubt can creep in. We must shift from uncertainty to faith, choosing to trust God even when we don’t fully understand.

Then we see an Instruction to Obey. In Matthew 28:19 Jesus says, “Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” The instruction is clear: go and make disciples. We are called to share the gospel, lead others to Christ, and help them grow in their faith.

Next we come to a Sin to Confess. In Matthew 28:13 it says, “Say this, ‘His disciples came during the night and stole Him while we were sleeping.’” This reveals the sin of deception and rejecting truth. The religious leaders chose to spread a lie rather than accept the reality of the resurrection. We must confess any areas where we resist or distort the truth and choose to walk in honesty and faith.

Finally, we see an Example to Follow. In Matthew 28:8 it says, “So, departing quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, they ran to tell His disciples the news.” The women give us an example of immediate obedience and joyful proclamation. They didn’t hesitate—they went and shared the good news. We are called to do the same, living with urgency and excitement about what God has done.

Matthew Chapter 28 reminds us that the resurrection changes everything. It is the foundation of our faith, the source of our hope, and the reason we go into the world with confidence. Jesus has overcome death, He is alive, and He has called us to be part of His mission.
