Welcome to Giving God PRAISE. This is a podcast where we walk through the entire Bible book by book and chapter by chapter. Our goal is to discover not only what God’s Word says, but what it means to praise God in our daily life. In each episode, we explore a Promise to Claim, a Response to Make, an Attitude to Change, an Instruction to Obey, a Sin to Confess, and an Example to Follow. So let’s go ahead and grab our Bibles and dive into today’s teaching.

Today we are studying Mark Chapter 13. In this chapter, Jesus speaks about the last days, warns His followers about deception, prepares them for trials, and calls them to remain watchful—showing us that in uncertain times, we must live with faith, endurance, and spiritual awareness.

First, we see a Promise to Claim. In Mark 13:31 Jesus says, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away.” This promise reminds us that everything in this world is temporary, but God’s Word is unshakable. When everything else changes, His truth remains the same, giving us a firm foundation to stand on.

Next is a Response to Make. In Mark 13:33 Jesus says, “Watch! Be alert! For you don’t know when the time is coming.” Our response is to stay spiritually awake. We are called to live intentionally, aware of God’s presence, and ready for His return at any moment.

Now let’s consider an Attitude to Change. In Mark 13:7 Jesus says, “When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, don’t be alarmed; these things must take place, but it is not yet the end.” This challenges us to move from fear to faith. Instead of being shaken by the chaos around us, we are called to trust God’s plan and remain steady in Him.

Then we see an Instruction to Obey. In Mark 13:13 Jesus teaches, “But the one who endures to the end will be delivered.” The instruction is clear: endure. We are called to remain faithful through hardship, persecution, and uncertainty, knowing that perseverance in Christ leads to deliverance.

Next we come to a Sin to Confess. In Mark 13:5 Jesus began by telling them, “Watch out that no one deceives you.” This reveals the danger of spiritual deception. We must confess any place where we have allowed ourselves to be distracted, misled, or pulled away from God’s truth.

Finally, we see an Example to Follow. In Mark 13:35–36 Jesus says, “Therefore be alert… Otherwise, when he comes suddenly he might find you sleeping.” This example calls us to live ready. Just as a servant stays awake for his master, we are to remain faithful, watchful, and prepared for the return of Christ.

Mark Chapter 13 reminds us that while we cannot control the future, we can control how we live in the present. It calls us to stay alert, trust God over fear, endure faithfully, and remain grounded in His Word as we await His return.
