Today we are studying Mark Chapter 16. In this chapter, Jesus rises from the dead, appears to His followers, and commissions them to spread the gospel—showing us that His resurrection brings hope, purpose, and new life to all who believe. We are reminded that the story does not end at the cross—it continues with resurrection power. It calls us to believe boldly, live with hope, and share the gospel with the world, knowing that Jesus is alive and still at work today.

Welcome to Giving God PRAISE. This is a podcast where we walk through the entire Bible book by book and chapter by chapter. Our goal is to discover not only what God’s Word says, but what it means to praise God in our daily life. In each episode, we explore a Promise to Claim, a Response to Make, an Attitude to Change, an Instruction to Obey, a Sin to Confess, and an Example to Follow. So let’s go ahead and grab our Bibles and dive into today’s teaching.
Today we are studying Mark Chapter 16. In this chapter, Jesus rises from the dead, appears to His followers, and commissions them to spread the gospel—showing us that His resurrection brings hope, purpose, and new life to all who believe.
First, we see a Promise to Claim. In Mark 16:6 the angel said, “Don’t be alarmed… You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has been resurrected! He is not here.” This promise reminds us that Jesus is alive. Death has been defeated, and because He lives, we have hope beyond every circumstance.
Next is a Response to Make. In Mark 16:15 Jesus said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” Our response is to go and share the good news. The resurrection is not something we keep to ourselves—it is a message we are called to proclaim to others.
Now let’s consider an Attitude to Change. In Mark 16:14 it says, “Later He appeared to the Eleven themselves as they were reclining at the table, and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart.” This challenges us to move from doubt to belief. Even the disciples struggled at first, but Jesus calls us to trust fully in the truth of His resurrection.
Then we see an Instruction to Obey. In Mark 16:16 Jesus teaches, “Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.” The instruction is clear: believe in Jesus and follow Him in obedience. Salvation comes through faith in Him, and we are called to walk in that faith.
Next we come to a Sin to Confess. In Mark 16:13 it says, “And they went and reported it to the rest, who did not believe them either.” This reveals the sin of unbelief. We must confess any doubt that keeps us from fully embracing the truth of who Jesus is and what He has done.
Finally, we see an Example to Follow. In Mark 16:20 it says, “And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word by the accompanying signs.” The disciples responded with obedience and boldness. This is our example—to go, to share, and to trust that God will work through us.
Mark Chapter 16 reminds us that the story does not end at the cross—it continues with resurrection power. It calls us to believe boldly, live with hope, and share the gospel with the world, knowing that Jesus is alive and still at work today.
