Today we are studying Luke Chapter 3. This chapter focuses on preparation—preparing hearts, lives, and attitudes for what God is about to do. It reminds us that before God moves in a powerful way, He often calls His people to realign their hearts. This is not just about outward change, but inward transformation. As we walk through this chapter, we are invited to examine our own lives and ask if we are truly ready for what God wants to do in us and through us. Luke Chapter 3 reminds us that God is calling us to be ready—ready in heart, ready in action, and ready in faith. It calls us to live with integrity, turn away from sin, and walk in obedience as we prepare for what God is doing in our lives.

Welcome to Giving God PRAISE. This is a podcast where we walk through the entire Bible book by book and chapter by chapter. Our goal is to discover not only what God’s Word says, but what it means to praise God in our daily life. In each episode, we explore a Promise to Claim, a Response to Make, an Attitude to Change, an Instruction to Obey, a Sin to Confess, and an Example to Follow. So let’s go ahead and grab our Bibles and dive into today’s teaching.
First, we see a Promise to Claim. In Luke 3:6 it says, “And everyone will see the salvation of God.” This promise reminds us that God’s salvation is for all people. His plan is not limited or exclusive—it is expansive and available. No matter your past or your current situation, God’s saving power is within reach. This gives us hope and assurance that His grace extends to every life, including our own.
Next is a Response to Make. In Luke 3:8 John says, “Therefore produce fruit consistent with repentance.” Our response is to live differently. Repentance is more than words—it is a change in direction. When we truly turn toward God, our lives should reflect that transformation. This means allowing God to shape our actions, our choices, and our priorities.
Now let’s consider an Attitude to Change. In Luke 3:8 it also says, “Don’t start saying to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’” This reveals an attitude of false security. People were relying on their background instead of their relationship with God. We must move from relying on what we think qualifies us to truly walking in obedience and faith.
Then we see an Instruction to Obey. In Luke 3:11 John instructs, “The man who has two shirts must share with someone who has none, and the one who has food must do the same.” The instruction is to live generously. Our faith should be seen in how we treat others, especially those in need.
Next we come to a Sin to Confess. In Luke 3:14 John tells the soldiers, “Don’t take money from anyone by force or false accusation, and be satisfied with your wages.” This reveals the sin of greed and dishonesty. We must confess any area where we have acted unjustly or selfishly.
Finally, we see an Example to Follow. In Luke 3:21–22 it says, “When all the people were baptized, Jesus also was baptized… and a voice came from heaven: ‘You are My beloved Son; I take delight in You!’” Jesus chose humility and obedience, setting an example for us to follow.
Luke Chapter 3 reminds us that God is calling us to be ready—ready in heart, ready in action, and ready in faith. It calls us to live with integrity, turn away from sin, and walk in obedience as we prepare for what God is doing in our lives.
