Today we are studying John Chapter 15. In this chapter, Jesus describes Himself as the true vine and His followers as the branches. He teaches that our strength, growth, and fruitfulness come from remaining connected to Him. He also emphasizes love, obedience, and the reality that following Him may bring opposition from the world. This chapter reminds us that a fruitful life is not produced by striving, but by abiding in Christ.

Welcome to Giving God Praise. This is a podcast where we walk through the entire Bible, book by book and chapter by chapter. Our desire is to discover not only what God's Word says, but what it means to praise God in our daily life. In each episode, we explore a promise to claim, a response to make, an attitude to change, an instruction to obey, a sin to confess, and an example to follow. So let's go ahead and grab our Bibles and dive into today's teaching. Let's begin reading John chapter 15. I am the true vine, and my father is the vineyard keeper. Every branch in me that does not produce fruit, he removes, and he prunes every branch that produces fruit, so that it will produce more fruit. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me and I in you. Just as a branch is unable to produce fruit by itself unless it remains on the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in me. I am the vine, you are the branches. The one who remains in me and I in him produces much fruit, because you can do nothing without me. If anyone does not remain in me, he is thrown aside like a branch and he withers. They gather them, throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you want, and it will be done for you. My Father is glorified by this, that you produce much fruit and prove to be my disciples. As the Father has loved me, I have also loved you. Remain in my love. If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commands and remain in his love. I have spoken these things to you, so that my joy may be in you and your joy may be complete. This is my command. Love one another as I have loved you. No one has greater love than this, that someone would lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. I do not call you slaves anymore, because a slave doesn't know what his master is doing. I have called you friends, because I have made known to you everything I have heard from my Father. You did not choose me, but I chose you. I appointed you that you should go out and produce fruit, and that your fruit should remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he will give you. This is what I command you. Love one another. If the world hates you, understand that it hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own. However, because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of it, the world hates you. Remember the word I spoke to you: a slave is not greater than his master. If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours. But they will do all these things to you on account of my name, because they don't know the one who sent me. If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have sinned. Now they have no excuse for their sin. The one who hates me also hates my father. If I had not done the works among them that no one else has done, they would not have sinned. Now they have seen and hated both me and my father. But this happened so that the statement written in their scripture might be fulfilled. They hated me for no reason. When the counselor comes, the one I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father. He will testify about me. You also will testify because you have been with me from the beginning. Let's take a moment to quiet our hearts and go to the Lord in prayer. Heavenly Father, thank you for the truth of John chapter 15 and the powerful reminder that we are called to remain in Christ. Thank you that our strength and fruitfulness come from being connected to you. Lord, help us to abide in you daily. Teach us to stay close to you and depend on you in everything we do. Prune anything in our lives that is not producing fruit. Fill us with your love so we can love others as you have loved us. Strengthen us to remain faithful even when we face opposition. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

Now that we've read God's Word and prepared our hearts in prayer, let's begin our praise study and listen to what God wants to say to our hearts today. In John chapter 15, we see a powerful promise to claim in Jesus' words the one who remains in me and I in him produces much fruit. This promise reminds us that fruitfulness is the result of connection, not effort alone. When we remain in Christ, his life flows through us. We begin to reflect his character, produce good works, and impact others. This promise assures us that we are not called to produce fruit on our own. God works through us as we stay connected to him. It also reminds us that a life rooted in Christ will not be empty. It will be meaningful and fruitful. The response to make in this chapter is to remain in Christ. Jesus repeats this command multiple times because it is essential. Remaining means staying connected through prayer, his word, and obedience. It means choosing to rely on him daily. Our response is not to drift or become distracted, but to stay close to him. We are also called to love one another. This is not optional, it is a command. Our response is to live out that love in real, tangible ways. We are called to change our attitude from self-reliance to dependence on Christ. Jesus makes it clear, you can do nothing without me. That challenges our natural tendency to rely on ourselves. We must shift from independence to complete dependence on Him. Another attitude to change is from conditional love to sacrificial love. Jesus defines love as laying down our lives for others. We are called to love beyond comfort and convenience. A changed attitude reflects Christ's love and how we treat others. The instruction to obey in this chapter is to remain, obey, and love. We are instructed to remain in Christ and let his word remain in us. We are instructed to keep his commands, which shows our love for him. And we are instructed to love one another as he has loved us. Obedience means living in connection with Christ and reflecting his love daily. The sin to confess in this chapter is disconnection from Christ. When we try to live apart from him, we become unfruitful and spiritually dry. We must confess when we neglect our relationship with him. Another sin to confess is lack of love. If we are not loving others, we are not reflecting Christ, we must also confess pride and self-reliance. Confession brings us back into alignment with God and reconnects us to the vine. The example to follow in this chapter is Jesus Himself. He remained in the Father's love and obeyed him completely. He loved sacrificially and gave his life for others. We are also called to follow the example of a fruitful branch, one that stays connected and produces lasting impact. Following this example means abiding in Christ, obeying his word, and loving others deeply. John chapter 15 reminds us that our life, growth, and purpose are found in Christ alone. It calls us to remain in him, love others, and live a life that produces lasting fruit. Take time today to ask yourself: Am I truly remaining in Christ? Am I depending on him or relying on myself? Am I loving others the way Jesus has called me to? If this message encouraged you, share it with someone who needs to be reminded that true life and fruitfulness are found in Christ. Let's finish today's study by going to the Lord in prayer. Heavenly Father, we are so grateful that our listeners chose to spend their time with us in your word today. Thank you for the truth of John chapter 15 and the reminder that we are called to remain in Christ. Lord, help us to stay connected to you daily. Remove anything that distracts us from abiding in you. Teach us to depend on you in everything we do. Fill us with your love so we can love others the way you have loved us. We pray that this message would encourage every listener and that they would feel led to share it with someone who needs this truth today. May God bless you and keep you in his grace. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
