What a blessing it is to see God's truth reaching more people each day. This passage reminds me of the power of Scripture in 2 Timothy 3, verse 16. All scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness. Praise God that his word is moving, reaching hearts, and being shared in 46 countries around the world. We want to take a moment to say hello to our listeners in Amman, Amman Governorate, Jordan, Yekaterinburg, Sverdlovsk Oblast, Russia, Bagyo City, Province of Benguet, Philippines, Paris, Texas, and Plattsburgh, New York, United States. We're grateful you've joined us today. Thank you for being part of this mission. It means so much to have you listening.

Welcome to Giving God Praise. This is a podcast where we walk through the entire Bible book by book and chapter by chapter. Our desire is to discover not only what God's Word says, but what it means to praise God in our daily lives. In each episode, we explore a promise to claim, a response to make, an attitude to change, an instruction to obey, a sin to confess, and an example to follow. So let's go ahead and grab our Bibles and dive into today's teaching. Today we continue our study through the book of Romans with one of the most powerful and hope-filled chapters in all of Scripture. After Romans chapter 7 described the struggle believers face against sin and the weakness of the flesh, Romans chapter 8 shifts our focus toward the victory, freedom, and assurance found through the Holy Spirit and through Jesus Christ. I can definitely relate to this chapter because there are seasons in my life when I feel weighed down by guilt, fear, weakness, suffering, uncertainty, or spiritual exhaustion. Even though I know what God's promises say, yet I still battle anxiety about the future, disappointment in myself, or I question about whether God is still working through my difficult circumstances. Romans chapter 8 speaks directly into those struggles with incredible hope. This chapter reminds me that believers are no longer condemned through Christ, that God's Spirit lives within us, that God works all things together for good, and that absolutely nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus. And honestly, those truths can completely change how I walk through the difficult seasons of my life. This chapter reminds us that life through the Spirit brings freedom, hope, assurance, and victory through Jesus Christ. So let's begin reading Romans chapter 8. Therefore, no condemnation now exists for those in Christ Jesus, because the Spirit's law of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. What the law could not do, since it was limited by the flesh, God did. He condemned sin in the flesh by sending his own Son in flesh, like ours, under sin's domain, and as a sin offering, in order that the law's requirement would be accomplished in us who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For those who live according to the flesh think about the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit about the things of the Spirit. For the mindset of the flesh is death, but the mindset of the Spirit is life and peace. For the mindset of the flesh is hostile to God, because it does not submit itself to God's law, for it is unable to do so. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God. You, however, are not in the flesh, but in the spirit, since the Spirit of God lives in you. But if any one does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to him. Now if Christ is in you, the body is dead, because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, then He who raised Christ from the dead will also bring your mortal bodies to life through His Spirit, who lives in you. So then, brothers, we are not obligated to the flesh to live according to the flesh, for if you live according to the flesh, you are going to die. But if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. All those led by God's Spirit are God's sons, for you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry out, Abba, Father. The Spirit Himself testifies together with our Spirit that we are God's children, and of children, also heirs, heirs of God, and co-heirs with Christ, seeing that we suffer with him, so that we may also be glorified with him. For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is going to be revealed to us. For the creation eagerly waits with anticipation for God's sons to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in the hope that the creation itself will also be set free from the bondage of corruption into the glorious freedom of God's children. For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together with labor pains until now. And not only that, but we ourselves who have the Spirit as the first fruits, we also groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for adoption, the redemption of our bodies. Now in this hope we were saved, yet hope that is seen is not hope, because who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with patience. In the same way the Spirit also joins to help in our weakness, because we do not know what to pray for as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with unspoken groanings, and he who searches the hearts knows the Spirit's mindset, because he intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God, those who are called according to his purpose. For those he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, so that he would be the firstborn among many brothers. And those he predestined, he also called, and those he called, he also justified, and those he justified, he also glorified. Let's take a moment now to pause and bring our hearts before the Lord. Heavenly Father, thank you for the incredible truth of Romans chapter 8, and the reminder that there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Thank you for giving us your spirit to strengthen us, guide us, comfort us, and remind us that we belong to you. Lord, help us walk according to the Spirit, instead of the flesh. Strengthen every listener today who may feel discouraged, fearful, weary, or overwhelmed by life's struggles. Remind us that you are still working all things together for good, and that nothing can separate us from your love through Jesus Christ. Teach us to trust you even when we cannot fully see what you are doing. Open our hearts today to receive your truth deeply and fill us with hope, peace, and confidence in Christ. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

Now that we have read God's Word and opened our hearts to Him in prayer, let's begin our praise study and listen to what God wants to say to our hearts today. One powerful promise we see in Romans chapter 8 is that there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. That promise brings incredible hope because so many people quietly carry guilt, shame, regret, and the weight of past failures. The enemy often tries to convince believers that they are still defined by their mistakes, but Romans chapter 8 reminds us that through Jesus Christ, we have been forgiven, justified, and brought into relationship with God. Another promise in this chapter is that the Holy Spirit lives within believers to strengthen, guide, comfort, and help them in their weakness. Paul even says, the Spirit intercedes for us when we do not know how to pray as we should. That means believers are never abandoned or left to struggle alone. This chapter also gives the incredible promise that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. That does not mean every circumstance is easy or pleasant, but it does mean God is still sovereign and working even through painful seasons. And honestly, one of the most comforting promises in all of Scripture is found at the end of this chapter. Absolutely nothing can separate believers from the love of God in Christ Jesus. If this study is encouraging you today, consider sharing it with someone who may need the reminder that God's love and grace are still holding them even in difficult seasons. The response we are called to make in Romans chapter 8 is to walk according to the Spirit rather than according to the flesh. Paul explains that the mindset of the flesh leads toward death, while the mindset of the spirit leads toward life and peace. That response requires believers to continually surrender their thoughts, desires, priorities, and decisions to God daily. Spiritual growth does not happen automatically. It involves learning to depend on the Holy Spirit rather than simply following human impulses and emotions. Another response we see in this chapter is choosing faith over fear. Paul reminds believers that they have not received a spirit of slavery leading back into fear, but the spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, Abba, Father. Christians are now children of God, loved and accepted through Christ. This chapter also calls believers to persevere through suffering with hope and trust in God's promises. Difficult seasons can tempt people toward discouragement or despair, but Romans chapter 8 reminds us that present suffering cannot compare to the glory God has prepared for his people. And maybe someone listening today needs the reminder that even when life feels uncertain, God is still near, still faithful, and still working. Romans chapter 8 challenges us to change our attitude from fear to confidence in God's love. Many believers quietly live weighed down by anxiety, insecurity, guilt, or fear about the future. Yet Paul repeatedly reminds Christians that they belong to God through Christ and are loved completely by Him. This chapter also calls us to move from worldly thinking to spirit-filled thinking. The flesh constantly pulls people toward selfishness, temporary satisfaction, fear, and discouragement. But the Spirit leads believers toward life, peace, hope, and trust in God. Another attitude to change is moving from hopelessness to expectancy. Paul explains that creation itself is waiting in anticipation for God's final redemption and glory to be revealed. Christians are called to live with eternal perspective rather than becoming consumed only with temporary struggles and disappointments. One reason I love Romans chapter 8 so much is because it reminds us that even during painful seasons, believers are never abandoned by God. His Spirit is still working, his promises are still true, and his love is still holding us securely through every circumstance. The instruction to obey in Romans chapter 8 is to live daily under the leadership of the Holy Spirit instead of surrendering to the desires of the flesh. Paul explains that believers are no longer obligated to live according to sinful desires, because the Spirit of God now lives within them. That instruction affects every area of life, including thoughts, attitudes, priorities, relationships, decisions, and responses to hardship. Another instruction in this chapter is to put to death the deeds of the body through the Spirit. Christians are called to actively resist sin rather than becoming spiritually passive or comfortable with compromise. This chapter also instructs believers to hold firmly to hope even during suffering. Paul reminds Christians that present difficulties are temporary compared to the eternal glory awaiting God's people. Obedience means trusting God's promises, even when circumstances feel painful or confusing. As we continue walking through Romans together, my prayer is that God would continue teaching us how to rely daily on his spirit and walk with greater peace, hope, and confidence in his love. The sin to confess in Romans chapter 8 is the sin of living according to the flesh, instead of surrendering fully to the Spirit of God. The flesh constantly pulls people toward fear, selfishness, pride, compromise, sinful desires, and independence from God. Paul reminds believers that the mindset of the flesh ultimately leads toward spiritual death and separation from God's will. This chapter also confronts the sin of fear and unbelief. Many Christians know God's promises intellectually, yet still allow fear, anxiety, discouragement, or doubt to dominate their hearts. Romans chapter 8 reminds believers that they are children of God and heirs with Christ, fully loved and accepted through Him. Another sin to confess is losing hope during suffering. Difficult seasons can tempt people toward bitterness, despair, or questioning God's faithfulness. Yet this chapter reminds us that God is still working all things together for good according to his purpose. Confession allows believers to bring fear, doubt, discouragement, sinful desires, and spiritual weakness honestly before the Lord, so he can continue shaping them through his grace. And maybe someone listening today needs the reminder that God's love has not left them, even in the middle of hardship or uncertainty. The example to follow in Romans chapter 8 is ultimately Jesus Christ Himself, through whom believers receive victory, adoption, righteousness, and eternal life. Christ willingly suffered, obeyed the Father completely, and secured salvation for humanity through his death and resurrection. Through him, believers are now more than conquerors. Another example we see in this chapter is the work of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit strengthens believers, intercedes for them in weakness, leads them toward righteousness, and continually points them back toward God's truth and love. This chapter also demonstrates the example of perseverance and hope. Paul acknowledged suffering honestly, yet he remained fully convinced that God's promises were greater than present hardships. That example matters because many believers today are walking through painful situations while trying to hold on to faith. Every time Christians continue trusting God during hardship, encourage others with Scripture, or remind someone of God's faithfulness, they reflect the hope and confidence described throughout Romans chapter 8. Romans chapter 8 reminds us that through Jesus Christ, believers now have freedom from condemnation, life through the Holy Spirit, hope during suffering, and complete assurance in the love of God. This chapter encourages Christians to walk according to the Spirit instead of the flesh, and to trust that God is still working even through difficult circumstances. It reminds us that the Spirit helps us in our weakness, and that absolutely nothing can separate believers from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Take time today to reflect honestly before the Lord. Are fear, guilt, discouragement, or worldly thinking pulling your focus away from God's promises? Are you walking according to the Spirit or continually surrendering to the flesh? And are you trusting that God is still working even in the middle of painful seasons you may not fully understand right now? If this message encouraged you today, consider sharing it with someone who may need the reminder that there is still hope, peace, and victory through Jesus Christ. We invite you to continue walking with us through God's Word at www.giving God PraisePodcast.com as we grow together, book by book and chapter by chapter.
