Maybe. Or maybe they aren't encouraged to be smart by the nature of Collectivism.

We had no front talk today. I've got a particular theory about collectivist thought and why it ends up leading to kind of having a bunch of idiots in charge of things with one or two smart people over top of them. And here's how the theory goes. In order to be a collectivist, you cannot be discerning. And you cannot be a person who stops and goes against the tide if you are going to be a collectivist. Which sounds stupid and obvious to say, but it is the truth and it is the foundation for the rest of it. So a conscientious person is someone who might take a look at something like, say, mass immigration. And if they are part of the collectivist, I don't know, whatever party it is, they look at that and they go, wait a minute. I think there should be, I think there should be some guardrails or some standards of behavior or standards for who we let in there. Well, that proves that they're going against the orthodoxy that has already been decided upon by the party. Therefore, somebody who is conscientious in this regard is not considered favorable to the party. Whereas somebody who says, yes, I believe in that, and I believe in it more than somebody else. I am more of a collectivist, I am more along the party lines. That person gets promoted because you know they can be counted on. Now there is a difference between somebody who can be counted on to be on your side, even if they stand up to you in order to confront you and keep you accountable. That's principal sort of discernment, but also a principled sort of alliance. That is not what collectivists can afford to do. A collectivist must submit to the collective because that is the point. The point is to get to the point where we're all learned the same. So you cannot abide somebody with the mind to notice plus the willpower to speak out and say, hey guys, maybe you should course correct. And that's how you end up with dumber and dumber and dumber people getting pushed up. And the smarter and smarter and smarter people, even the less smart people, after a little while, start to get pushed out because they will not abide by the ever-extremifying orthodoxy, and the orthodoxy must get more extreme because it is not merely enough to uphold the status quo of the collective choice. One must extra advance it to prove that one is highly in favor for the collective community. And so you don't have to think about how can we tweak this so that it works better. You only have to go faster. Let's do this faster, let's do this more, let's do this more often. It doesn't require a whole lot of thought. And so a whole lot of thought is actually skipped out on. This is why I think collectivists always end up with morons surrounding a few people who are trying to keep the morons in line, but they cannot afford to have anybody smarter than the morons. Otherwise their own leadership is absolutely in danger. Maybe I'm wrong or maybe just maybe it explains a lot of high power politics being run by absolute morons. Cheers.
