In this episode, we are reminded that God’s protection is not only about what He keeps away from us, but also about where He keeps us, under His covering, near His heart, and anchored in His truth. Drawing from Psalm 91:4, this message explores the security of living under God’s feathers and wings, where His truth becomes both shield and buckler against attacks from near and far.
The episode also highlights a subtle strategy of the enemy: using persuasive words to lure believers out of the place of safety God has prepared. Through Colossians 2:4 and Colossians 3:16, this message calls us to resist voices that sound convincing but do not carry the counsel of God, and instead let the word of Christ dwell in us richly.
This is a timely word of comfort, warning, and assurance for anyone stepping into a new season, facing uncertainty, or standing in faith for their family. Stay under His covering. Stay rooted in His Word. Stay where God has kept you.
It is not only about what God keeps you away from, it is also about where he keeps you, how near he draws you, and what voices he warns you not to follow. Good morning, dearly beloved, and welcome to this morning's expression of igniting your day with Bamidili or Longtop. This morning there is a word of protection concerning you. I do not know what you are stepping into. I do not know whether it is something new or something familiar, but I can tell that God cares. This is a powerful picture of God's gentle care. He shall cover you with his feathers. To be covered with his feathers speaks of tender protection. It's like a bird drawing its young clothes, not exposing them, but hiding them. God is saying, I will cover you. I will not leave you exposed. I will not leave you vulnerable. If there is anything bringing uncertainty to your heart, receive this word this morning. He shall cover you with his feathers. The Bible also says, Under his wings you shall take refuge. This speaks of safety through nearness. Refuge is a place of shelter in the midst of danger. So the image here is not only that God protects you, but that he invites you to stay near him and rest under his covering. There is safety in proximity. There is security in remaining near the Lord. The Bible also says, His truth shall be your shield and buckler. This speaks of the strength of God's faithfulness, the strength of his consistency, and the strength of his unchanging word. A buckler is a smaller shield used for attacks that come from nearby. A shield is larger and used for attacks that come from farther away. So when the Bible says his truth shall be your shield and buckler, it means that God's truth protects you from attacks that come from afar and from attacks that come from near. His dependable character is your defense, his faithfulness is your defense, his word is your defense. I do not know what plans you have today, but I bring you this word of comfort. Do not be afraid. You have a guaranteed place under his wings, and his truth stands for you as both shield and buckler. Speak this over your life this morning. Declare it over your life. The Lord covers me with his feathers, and under his wings I take refuge. Speak it over your home. The Lord covers my home with his feathers, and under his wings we take refuge. Speak it over your children, your family, and every area of concern in your life. Even in those areas where you recognize inconsistencies or gaps in your life. Still say it, under his wings I take refuge. Hallelujah. Now take a careful look at this security structure again. The Lord covers you with his feathers. Under his wings you take refuge. If the enemy knows that attacks from near cannot get to you, and attacks from afar cannot get to you, then his most likely strategy is to deceive you into stepping out of God's covering. He will try to lure you out from under those feathers. He will try to pull you away from that place under God's wings. And one of the ways he does this is through things that sound intelligent but are not the counsel of God. They may sound persuasive, they may sound reasonable, they may sound sophisticated, but if they are not God's counsel for you, they are dangerous. This is especially important for our children, for our homes, and for everyone we love. Their ideas, suggestions, and voices that may sound intelligent, but they are not the counsel of God. Their purpose is to draw people out of the place of safety. Let's read Colossians chapter 2, verse 4. Now this I say, lest anyone should deceive you with persuasive words. This is a serious warning. Can you declare over your home and your family this morning that your family will not be deceived by persuasive words? My children will not be deceived by persuasive words. My home, your home, will not be lured away by persuasive words in the name of Jesus. Friends, the Lord has already instituted a covering. Amen. Also, please beware, there is no vacuum in the spirit. It is not enough to say what you do not want, you must also say what you do want. This is why we turn to Colossians chapter 3, verse 16. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another. This is the answer to those persuasive words. The only way persuasive words will not catch you is when the word of Christ already dwells in you richly. If the enemy is using words, then the safeguard must also be words, but not the words of men. The safeguard must be the words of Christ. Do not underestimate the power of sharing God's word in your home before stepping out. Do not underestimate the impact of teaching and admonishing one another with the word of God. Maybe you did not do it yesterday and nothing happened. Maybe you have overlooked it before. But please do not underestimate it today. The Bible says, let the word of Christ dwell in you richly. This means the word must not visit occasionally, it must dwell, it must live there, it must feel the atmosphere of your heart and of your home. Declare it this morning. The word of Christ dwells in me richly. The word of Christ dwells in my home richly. My children are rooted in the word of Christ. The word of Christ is deeply embedded in my family in the name of Jesus. Friends, when the word of Christ dwells in you richly, it becomes a filter. It validates what comes through your eye gates. It becomes a protector. So, as a family, as friends, and as a company of believers, we say no to persuasive words that seek to lure us out of God's covering. And we say yes to the word of Christ dwelling in us richly. I encourage you this morning, stay where God has kept you. I do not know who exactly this word is for, and I do not know exactly what you are stepping into. But this is the counsel of God for you. You have assurance of protection, you have assurance of security, but do not allow yourself to be carried away by persuasive words. Do not let yourself be lured out. Stay where God has kept you. Stay where God has provided security. Stay under his feathers. Stay under his wings. Stay in the place where his truth remains, your shield and your buckler. And let the word of Christ dwell in you richly. Hallelujah. Amen. I believe you have been blessed by the inspiration shared this morning. Please do well to extend this to someone else as we stay covered under his wings in the name of Jesus. I wish you an amazing day ahead. God bless you.
