Let God lead the engagement

In this episode of Igniting Your Day, we are reminded that when God has spoken, our responsibility is not to control the process but to surrender the engagement to Him.
There are moments when the promise is clear, the prophecy is genuine, and the word of the Lord has already been released, yet fear, responsibility, pressure, or comparison can make us rush ahead of God. This message calls us back to a place of trust, restraint, and dependence on the One whose purposes cannot be thwarted.
Drawing from Acts 17:24–29, Job 42:2, Proverbs 3:5–8, and Psalm 37:1–4, this episode teaches that God does not need human control to remain sovereign. He invites our participation, but He must lead our response, timing, posture, and action.
Be encouraged to put God in front over your family, your work, your decisions, your promises, and the matters He has committed into your hands. Trust Him with all your heart, exercise restraint, take your eyes off others, and proceed only by the strength and wisdom He supplies.
There are matters where God has already spoken, but we still struggle to take our hands off the process. The word may be clear, the promise may be sure, the prophecy may be genuine, yet the real test is whether we allow God's omnipotence to take its rightful place before we try to control the outcome. Good morning and welcome to this episode of Igniting Your Day with Amitele Oloro Toba. This morning, I believe there is a word for someone. God has spoken to you concerning something. He has given you assurance concerning the matter. Perhaps you received a prophecy from a trusted source concerning that thing. But I also see that you are struggling to take your hands off that prophecy. As human beings, we are often so responsible that we feel we must always take control. You have received the word, but you are struggling to let the omnipotence of God take its place. I am not saying you should be passive. I am not saying you do not have a role. You have a role, of course, and you have a part to play. But the omnipotence of God also has its place in that matter. You may already be asking, What can I do? You may already be asking, how can I make this thing happen? You may already be asking, how can I orchestrate it so that this word comes to pass. Please hear me clearly. You have a role, but the omnipotence of God also has its place in that prophecy. The omnipotence of God has its place in that matter. The omnipotence of God has its place in what has been revealed to you. This morning, the goal is to surrender. The goal is to let Him teach us how He expects us to engage. Let the one who gave the word, the one who gave the prophecy, the one who showed the future, teach us how to engage. Let me begin by telling you this this morning. God does not need human control to be God. God does not need human control to be God. Let me read Acts chapter 17, verse 24 to 29 for you to hear. The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and the earth, and does not live in temples built by human hands, and he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything, rather. He himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else. From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth, and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they will seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us. For in him we live and move and have our being. As some of your own poets have said, we are his offspring. Therefore, since we are God's offspring, we should not think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone, an image made by human design and skill. Friends, there are two things I see here. I see the limited nature of man. Verse 26 says, From one man he made all the nations that they should inhabit the whole earth, and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. In terms of space, God has marked out a man's boundaries. In terms of time, God has marked out appointed seasons. Both special and temporal jurisdictions are marked by God. Man has a limit. Whatever you think you can do, you are limited. You are limited specially, you're also limited temporally. Second, God expects dependence from us. Verse 27 of Acts 17 says, God did this so that they will seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us. Friends, God marked out our limits so that we will seek him. He wants us to reach out for him, he wants us to find him, he wants us to depend on him. Maybe you are struggling with letting God have his way. There are specific matters where you just want to take control. It's good to be responsible, but there is a layer behind your willingness. God is interested in doing some things to help you. He wants to show you that he is not absent from your matter. Job chapter 42, verse 2 says, I know that you can do all things. No purpose of yours can be thwarted. This must guide us, my friends. We must be guided by the consciousness that God can do all things. We must be guided by the consciousness that no purpose of his can be thwarted. Many times our zeal to get involved comes in front of what God has said he wants to do for us. Let me take that again. Many times our zeal to get involved comes from the thought that if we do not get involved, things may not go the way they should. And I understand that, but there is a higher life. The higher life is where a person becomes matured enough to say, Lord, I proceed only with the ability you supply. Why don't you declare this in your heart today? That you are guided by the consciousness that God can do all things, that you are guided by the consciousness that no purpose of God can be thwarted. Friends, these two truths form the foundation of what should be your engagement, they form the basis of what should be our involvement so that we do not hold on to what we are not supposed to hold on to. Yes, friends, let God lead your engagement. I also sense that a particular place where this revelation takes deep root is in the family. As a parent, you may want to be in control. You may see your son doing something and know it's not good. You may see your daughter doing something and know it's not good. You want to make it clear that such a thing should not be done. You may even be seeing tendencies that, according to your assessment, could lead to something negative in the future. That may be true. Nobody is disputing what you have seen. But the Lord is reminding us this morning that no purpose of His can be thwarted. It may look the way it looks now, but God is not passive in that matter. My friends, God wants to lead you in your engagement of that issue. God wants to lead you in your discourse with that child. God wants to lead you in your talking to that daughter of yours. God wants to lead you in your explaining to that daughter of yours. Do not speak to that child anyhow. Do not talk to that son, anyhow. Do not talk to that daughter, anyhow. The Lord is saying this morning, let me lead you. Let God lead your response. Let him lead your words. Let him lead your timing. Let him lead your posture. Let him lead the engagement. Let me also tell you this this morning, my friends. Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Many times the reason why we want to take control is a reflection of how much we really trust God. Proverbs chapter 3, verse 5 to 8 says, Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, submit to him, and he will make your path straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes. Fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones. Friends, the Lord wants you to trust him. The Lord wants to be the one standing between you and that issue. The Lord does not want you to engage directly in your own wisdom because that may be dangerous for you. He wants to go before you. Trust in the Lord with all your heart. In all your ways, submit to him. Many times there is a way your mind makes you think you are capable. If your mind functions like that, then your mind still needs to be discipled. Your brain must not give you a false sense of readiness. Let God lead in all your ways. Put him in front. Jesus said, I do what I see the Father do. In the same way, put God in front in managing your home. Put God in front concerning that project. Put him in front concerning that matter he has committed into your hands. Trust in the Lord, submit to him. Please let me also encourage you, exercise restraint. Because Proverbs chapter 3, verse 6 says, In all your ways, submit to him, and he will make your path straight. You must learn to exercise restraint. Without you being able to exercise restraint, you will not be capable of submitting to him. Many mistakes happen because people cannot restrain themselves. There may be a push from your mind, but exercise restraint. There may be a push from people, but exercise restraint. There may be a push from the systems around you, but exercise restraint. There is a fruit of the spirit called self-control. Why don't you declare over your life this morning that you exercise restraint? I stay under the leadership of the spirit. Declare that you do not rush ahead of God. Yes, we do not rush ahead of God in our homes. We do not rush ahead of God in our marriage. We do not rush ahead of God in our career in the name of Jesus. Also, friends, take your eyes off others. This is going to help you a lot. Take your eyes off others. Psalm 37, verse 1 to 4 says, Do not fret because of those who are evil or be envious of those who do wrong. For like the grass they will soon wither. Like green plants, they will soon die away. Trust in the Lord and do good. Dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Take delight in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. This helps us exercise restraint against external pressures. It is not enough to exercise restraint over your body. There are also external pressures. There are people around you who seem to have gotten it. There are people who seem to have cracked the code. There are people who seem to have faced a similar challenge and solved it. I'm not saying they did not solve it genuinely. They may have. Trust him with all your heart. Submit to him in all your ways. Exercise restraint. Take your eyes off others. Delight yourself in the Lord. And as you do, you receive the confidence to proceed only in the way he leads, with the strength he supplies, and in the timing he applies. Put God first in everything you do, and your life will never remain the same. Till I come your way again tomorrow. I am in my daily.
