Sometimes God leads us through small steps, not because we lack capacity, but because He is aligning us with His purpose. This message brings encouragement from 1 Corinthians 15:58, Zechariah 4:10, Luke 16:10-12, 1 Samuel 14:6, and 2 Kings 7:3-8, reminding us that nothing done in the Lord is ever in vain. Be encouraged to remain faithful, keep moving, and trust God to amplify what looks weak or small in your eyes.

When God is leading you, what looks small in your eyes, maybe carrying great weight in his body. Good morning and welcome to this expression of igniting your day. Maybe you are someone who has what it takes to make big steps. You have what it takes to make big moves. You have what it takes to make giant leaps. But in order to align with the Lord, it has been required of you to take small steps. It's not that you do not know the big things to do. It's not that you do not know what you could do. It's not that you lack ideas, skill, capacity, or strength. But in order to stay in alignment with the Lord, you have been required to take small steps. Those small steps may have come through God-ordained situations. Left to you, it would not have happened that way, but God orchestrated certain situations so that you would not have any other option than to take those small steps. For someone else, the small steps came as an instruction. Despite the fact that you knew the big things you could do, the instruction you received was simple, go small. For another person, those small steps came through obedience. You did not plan to do those small things, but the Lord told you, do this, do this, do this. And because you have learned how to yield to Him, no matter how interested you may have been in doing big things, you have to stick with the small thing the Lord is asking you to do. But here is where this becomes personal. You have done those small things so well and for so long that it's now easy for you to start seeing yourself in the light of those small things. You have begun to see yourself even as small. The Lord wants to recalibrate your mindset this morning. The fact that God has asked you to do small things does not mean you are small in his eyes. The fact that he has asked you to take small steps does not mean he sees you as insignificant. Do not despise those small steps. This month may not be a month where you see big changes. But God has perfected the art of doing big things without disturbing ongoing processes. He knows how to walk behind the scenes. As Isaiah chapter 45, verse 15 reminds us that God is a God who sometimes hides himself. He works in ways that may not be immediately visible, but his hand is still active. Do not despise those small steps. I know you have a lot to say. I know many things to do. Yes, you even know many things to do. I know you know how fast you could have run, but so that you can align with God in certain areas of your life, you have had to limit your expressions. There are two key things the Lord wants you to know this morning. One is that there is nothing done for the Lord that is ever in vain. Yes. First Corinthians chapter 15, verse 58 says, Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord. For as much as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. See, friends, there is surely a reward for everything you do because of the Lord. Yes, you had big ideas, but the Lord said, Go small. My brother, my sister, there is surely a reward. Yes, you know how to progress in leaps and bounds. But the Lord says, Let us count footsteps here. There is surely a reward. Yes, you know how to make ten things at a time, but the Lord is saying, Son, let us move little by little. There is surely a reward. Your labor is not in vain when it is in the Lord. The second thing the Lord will have me share with you this morning is that those small-looking efforts of yours are only small in your eyes. They are not small in the eyes of God. Those small-looking outputs, those small-looking gestures, those small-looking performances, those small-looking acts of obedience, they are only small in your eyes. They are not small in the eyes of God. Whatever they are, they are only small from your perspective. In God's eyes, they are weighty. In God's eyes, they are meaningful. In God's eyes, they are part of his work in your life. There are four areas where this truth may apply to you this morning. Number one, do not despise small beginnings. Maybe what looks small to you is your beginning. You know in your heart how big you wanted to start that business. You know in your heart how mighty you wanted to start that project. You know how mighty, how loud, how strong, and how visible you would have loved the beginning to be. But you were forced into a situation orchestrated by the Lord where you had to start small. The word of the Lord to you this morning is this that beginning is only looking small in your eyes. Zechariah chapter 4, verse 10 says, For who have despised the day of small beginnings, the Lord rejoices when the word begins. The Lord rejoices when the work begins. Whether you start big or you start small, what matters before God is that you are starting in obedience. Somebody has been sad over a small beginning. Maybe you are here and you have been troubled because the beginning does not look like what you imagined. You wanted a big start, you wanted to start loudly, you wanted to start thunderously, but the Lord has allowed you to start small. Hear the word of the Lord this morning. Do not despise your small beginning. Pray this over yourself. I do not despise my small beginning. I do not despise the small beginning God has allowed in my life. I do not despise the small beginning in my family. My husband will not despise his small beginning. My wife will not despise her small beginning. My children will not despise their small beginnings in the name of Jesus. Friends, whether the beginning looks big or the beginning looks small, the Lord rejoices to see the work begin. I declare concerning you this morning, you will not despise your small beginning in the name of Jesus. Amen. The second group or the second case, if you like, the second area that the Lord would like you to pay attention to is the issue of faithfulness in small things. Yes, being faithful in small things. You know very well that you have had the capacity for a long time to handle bigger things. But the tasks brought before you are always looking small. You may have a scientific background, but the tasks being pushed to you are now administrative. They may not engage your mind the way you would have loved your mind to be engaged. They may look too simple, they may look too minimal or too small for the kind of training you have received. But the Lord says, Do not despise those small things. But God is watching something deeper. Luke chapter 16, verse 10 to 12 says, He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much, and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. If therefore you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? If you have not been faithful in that which is another man's, who shall give you that which is your own? What the Lord is looking for in your current situation, friends, is faithfulness. It's not about the mighty quantity of what is presented before you, it's not about how impressive the task looks. The Lord is tracking your faithfulness. So take your eyes off the fact that the task looks too small for you. Take your eyes off the fact that the assignment looks too simple for you. What the Lord is coming to see is how faithful you are, even in those small things. How faithful are you in the little committed into your hands? I pray for you, you'll be faithful in every little thing committed into your hands in the name of Jesus. In this month of June, you will be faithful. Everywhere you are placed, you will be faithful in the name of Jesus. There may be moments when big things could have been brought to you, but small things were intentionally placed before you just to reveal how faithful you will be in handling them. Friends, God is tracking your faithfulness. Number three, the third area is your ability to keep moving when your outputs look weak. Your ability to keep moving when your outputs look weak. For another person, your outputs are looking insignificant. It's not because you are lazy, it's simply because of how God wants it for now. You know what you could have done to make your outputs look big. You know what you could have done to make them look attractive. You know what you could have done to make your outputs look compelling, look mouthwatery. You know how to make things shine, you know how to make your work loud, but somehow, because of the situation God has placed you in, your outputs are looking insignificant and weak in your eyes. The word of the Lord comes to you from 1 Corinthians chapter 1, verse 27 to 29. The Bible says, But God hath chosen the foolish things of this world to confound the wise, and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty, and base things of the world and things which are despised have God chosen, yea, and things which are not to bring to naught things that are that no flesh should glory in his presence. Friends, God has chosen weak things to confound mighty things. My brother, my sister, I know you know how to make your outputs shine. I know you know how to make your outputs loud. I know you know how to make your outputs compelling, but because of the situation God has put you in, your output may be looking weak. I'd bring you a word of hope this morning. Keep moving, keep moving. God knows what he is doing. Keep moving. The Lord is bringing this to your heart so that you will not be afraid of small outputs in this season. He is reminding you so that you will not be scared when your outputs do not look the way you have always believed they should look. Keep moving, keep moving. Trust that God is working behind the scenes. Galatians chapter 6, verse 9 reminds us not to grow weary in doing well, because in due season we shall reap if we faint not. Why don't you declare this over your life this morning? I will not grow weary in doing well, my family will not grow weary in doing well, my wife will not grow weary in doing well, my children will not grow weary in doing well, my husband will not grow weary in doing well. We will keep making progress. Yes. The fourth area is this God can walk through strength that looks small. God can walk through strength that looks small. Maybe what looks small to you is your strength, your skill, or your ability. You know how to appear big, you know how to appear strong, you know how to appear terrifying, but the Lord has put you in a situation where you look like somebody who is unskilled. He has put you in a situation where you look like someone who does not know how to do it. There is a word for you in 1 Samuel chapter 14, verse 6. And Jonathan said to the young man that bear his armor, Come and let us go over unto the garrison of these uncircumcised. It may be that the Lord will work for us, for there is no restraint to the Lord to save by many or by few. Friends, nothing restrains the Lord from saving by many or by few. I declare concerning you this morning, the Lord will work for you in the name of Jesus. Your strength may have been looking small, but the Lord will work for you. Your appearance may have been looking weak, but the Lord will work for you. Nothing restrains the Lord from helping. Nothing restrains the Lord from saving. He can save by many and he can save by few. May this become practical in your current situation in the name of Jesus. Yes, my friends. Let me tell you this: God knows how to amplify weak footsteps. God knows how to amplify weak footsteps. I bring you hope this morning. There is nothing you do for the Lord that is not in vain. I know you know how to make it look big. I know you know how to make a grand entrance. I know you know how to make a loud impact. But so that you can align with the Lord, he has found a way to make your efforts look small. So that you can align with him. He has found a way to constrain you. Take out my brother, take out my sister. First, there is nothing you do for the Lord that is in vain. Second, your efforts are only looking small in your eyes. To the Lord, they are mighty, to the Lord they are potent. In closing, remember this: God knows how to make footsteps and weak footsteps sound like footsteps of marching soldiers. Let me say that again. God knows how to make small footsteps and weak footsteps sound like the footsteps of marching soldiers. 2 Kings chapter 7, verse 3 to 8 tells us about four lepers who were in a desperate situation. They said to one another, Why sit we here until we die? If they stayed where they were, they would die. If they moved forward, they might die. So they decided to move. As these four lepers with weak bodies and broken conditions continued to move towards the camp, the Lord caused the enemy to hear the sound of chariots, horses, and the great army. What looked weak in the natural became amplified by God in the spirit of the situation. Those four lepers kept moving and God magnified their movement. I do not know how your current situation looks before you. Right now, all you may see is that the Lord is constraining you. But I am telling you that the same God who is constraining you also knows how to make your weak footsteps sound like the footsteps of a mighty army. He knows how to amplify your footsteps, he knows how to amplify your obedience, he knows how to amplify your small steps. Yes, this God does know how to make small things appear and sound big. Why don't you just go ahead and say, Father, I thank you this morning. Thank you for your presence. Thank you for your word that I have heard. I ask you to help me to remain faithful. Yes. Help us to keep moving, help us to trust you when you constrain us and help us to believe that you can amplify what looks weak in our eyes. In Jesus' mighty name. Amen. Dear friends, take a moment today and pray over the small step God has placed before you and ask Him for grace to obey it faithfully without despising it. I am wishing you this morning an amazing day ahead. God bless you.
