Truth or Fact? Let God’s Light Reveal What Is Real

Using Ephesians 5:12–13, this episode reminds us that facts and experiences are not always the full truth until God’s light shines upon them. This is a call to pray for clarity, healing, wisdom, and divine revelation in our homes and marriages.
Our experiences may be real, our feelings may be sincere, and the facts before us may be clear. But until the light of God shines on what is before us, we may not yet know what is true. Good morning and welcome to this expression of uniting your day. My dear friends, you have a right to your opinion about anything. It could be your marriage, your business, your career, or your life. When you assess those things, whatever you think about them may be your opinion. In fact, it may not just be your opinion, they may be facts. When you look at your marriage, what you see may be factual. When you look at your business, what you see may be factual. When you look at your academics, what you see may be factual. You may be able to say exactly what happened. You may be able to identify areas where indeed you experienced God's goodness. You may be able to point to God's mercy, and you may also be able to identify pain. Those things are the facts. You experienced them. You see, but there is a difference between fact and truth. Fact is what you have experienced, what you can testify of. Truth is reality as revealed by the right kind of light. Let's go into the scriptures. Ephesians chapter 5, verse 12 to 13. The Bible says, For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light. For whatever makes manifest is light. Verse 13 is very important. But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light. For whatever makes manifest is light. That means whatever reveals a thing is light. Whatever makes something known is light. Let me explain it this way. If you are wearing a top and I ask you what color it is, you may say it's blue, yellow, red, or another color. That is what you see. It is a fact. But the color you are seeing is actually influenced by the kind of light shining on it. If that same cloth is taken under another kind of light, the color may be different. If that cloth is taken to another kind of light, the color you see may look different. So what determines how you see the object? It is the light shining on it. In the same way, what determines what you see about your marriage is the kind of light shining on it. What determines what you see about your home is the kind of light shining on it. What determines what you see about your business is the kind of light shining on it. What determines what you see about your ministry is the kind of light shining on it. That is why it is important. You may be entitled to your opinion about your marriage, your academics, your business, your job. You are entitled to acknowledge the facts that you have seen or experienced. You can describe what you have experienced, you can talk about what has happened. But the question is, what is the kind of light that is shining on that thing you are looking at? What kind of light is shining on your marriage? What kind of light is shining on your business? What kind of light is shining on your career? It is the light shining on that marriage that will help you know whether what you are seeing is true. It is the light shining on that business that will help you know whether what you are seeing is true. It is the light shining on that job that will help you know whether what you are seeing is true. Ephesians 5:13 says that whatever makes manifest is light, whatever reveals anything is light. Only light has the capacity to reveal truth. Only light has the capacity to show us what is true, the right kind of light. Thank you, Lord, for your word. This morning, I want us to pray for ourselves, particularly every young marriage around us. Yes, this truth we have shared is applicable in many areas of life, but I feel strongly led to pray for young marriages this morning. Yes, maybe you are asking, What is really happening in my home? Until the light of God shines on it, you may not fully know what is true. If you think you have been doing well, the question remains: what kind of light is shining upon your home? Only the light of God can reveal what is true. If you have been troubled, if you have been disturbed, if you have been unhappy, still the answer is the same. Only the light of God can reveal what is true. So I pray this morning. Father, let your light shine upon every home. Let your light shine upon every marriage. Let your light shine especially upon young marriages. Let your light reveal what is true. Let your light expose what needs to be corrected. Let your light strengthen what is already standing. Let your light guide every husband and every wife into clarity, into humility, into wisdom and peace. Lord, shine your light on every young marriage connected to us. Let there be no confusion. Let there be no deception. Let there be no wrong interpretation of facts. Let there be no judgment formed only by pain, pressure, or emotion. Let your light reveal the truth. My dear friends, where there is love, the light of God can strengthen it. Where there is misunderstanding, the light of God can bring clarity. Where there is pain, the light of God can bring healing. Where there is pride, the light of God can bring humility. Where there is confusion, the light of God can bring direction. Yes. Thank you, Lord Jesus. And Father, we are grateful because your light does not destroy what you intend to heal. Your light reveals, your light corrects, your light guides, your light restores. We pray for every own this morning. Your light shines upon our homes, your light shines upon our marriages, your light shines upon every young family. Thank you, Heavenly Father. In Jesus' name. Amen.
