You know, there's nothing that you can't get through over. You know, uh for every action that you have, there's always a reaction. And on and respect, because respect is the number one. We earn we we give respect because we demand respect. Point period. You know, you gotta earn it.
SPEAKER_02So Well, what do you mean earn it? I mean like, I mean, people don't have to like people, but they should respect them, right?
SPEAKER_01Yes. You give what you get. Um, yeah, you give what you want to get, you know, and you will get you will get what you want to give. You know, um, just because you don't like a person does not mean that you have to disrespect them. You know, just it's just your uh what is it? What is it called? Your um the science between you two days chemistry? Yeah, chemistry, yeah. Is not you know matching up, but if he's never disrespected you, there's no reason for disrespect.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. I mean sometimes people have bad sometimes people don't realize what disrespect is. Something disrespectful to one person might not be disrespectful to another person because they don't know.

SPEAKER_02Because what some people don't understand, like some people don't know what disrespect is because they don't see it as disres disrespect because they don't understand that that's what somebody it's something might upset somebody.
SPEAKER_01Well, that's why we have to be a little considerate and just and open-minded. You know that we're not all brought up the same way. Some of us are brought up by women, some of us are brought up by men, some of us had both their parents, you know, and so it's it's just really like really it really it has to do with to understand that it's not everything about you, you know. You have other people can happy and considerate.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and that goes a long way, especially in the world today.

SPEAKER_02Yeah, people don't care about the next person, but they should because love love, because God is love, and you're supposed to do everything with love, which means with God, you know, because if that's the case, your intentions were never wrong.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, if you're gonna do something, do it. Do it from the heart. And don't, you know, do it from the heart, or don't do it at all. You know, if you're gonna do something, just don't be throwing it on people's face. You know, like it just looks bad. It looks bad for your own image, you know, and uh just put yourself in the other side. How would you like it if they would if it was done to you?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, most definitely. I think uh a lot of people don't think about that, but like uh godly people do. People who fear God, love God. And I think that's really important. And I think that's uh important for you to be around people that fear God or believe in what you believe in.

SPEAKER_02Because then I think it goes a lot more ways. And then there's like unspoken things that you don't have to you don't you just know because you believe in God. It's like a it's like a good loving thing. When you when you stand for nothing, when you stand for nothing, you fall for anything. You know, so if you that means you can rock, you can sway.

SPEAKER_02When you have God, like you're stable, you're staying you stand down. When you can't ever hit that really rock bottom, I don't believe you could hit you could go low.

SPEAKER_01And if you do, he'll be there to pull you out.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you gotta get up and dust yourself up, you know? And like, and it doesn't matter how you got there, it's that you got there, you know?

SPEAKER_01Remember those? Like the tank toaster? Yeah. So today we're gonna talk about my upcoming and my the reason why I am I've been through the things I've been through. So I came from a very healthy family. Mom and dad separated when I was three. I saw my dad hit my mom when I was young, and sometimes I would wake up crying in the middle of the night with those images in my head. I I didn't understand why things were the way they were. You know, like I was young, so I always told my mom and dad that I wanted them to be together. But they would tell me like it couldn't that couldn't happen because of what life was going what was going on with them. They couldn't get along. So then and I as I grew I understood that things were better off like that. You know, my dad he became a better person. My mom she wasn't being hurt, you know, and I didn't grow up seeing that. So I guess it was for the best. Now I got I graduated high school, Reseda High.
SPEAKER_02Good job.
SPEAKER_01I went to some college, good job, drafting, designing, architecture. Oh shit, and watch out and do blue blue printing. Oh shit, watch out, and 3D printing.
SPEAKER_02And uh and um That's right, good shit, good job.
SPEAKER_01I had my first daughter at the age of 19 or 18, high school sweetheart.
SPEAKER_02Congratulations.
SPEAKER_01And we were together, boyfriend and girlfriend, for three years in high school and then three years married. And we everything seemed to be right, going right, but nothing goes right when you don't put God in the middle of everything. When you don't make him your first or your priority.
SPEAKER_02Oh yes. Oh man, amen. I gave me chills.
SPEAKER_01You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_02So it's like it's a lesson, right?
SPEAKER_01It was a lesson, but we still don't learn from it though. We don't learn from it why because it's so it's so easy and sometimes it feels good to to do the wrong. You know? It's easier and it's feels good momentarily, you know, or you just you know what you want to live life, you know, you only live life once. But you never think about the consequences of your actions. So we got together, we she she was working, I was working, and we had our apartment in c in Kanoga. And we had a car, we had everything. Before I got the apartment, I got the apartment, I fixed it up, and then I surprised her and her mom, and I brought her to the apartment, and I told her, This is your apartment. I fixed it the way I know you would like it. So she liked it and everything was fine. But like I said, if you don't put God first, if you try to do things your own will, you know, you're gonna hard lessons. You're gonna have hard lessons. And like I said, it's easier to go that route. You know, it's kinda hard. It's difficult to wake up every day and pick your cross-up. And so Say that one more time. It's hard, it's hard to wake up every day and pick your cross-up.
SPEAKER_02What do you mean by that?
SPEAKER_01By that is it's hard to wake up every day and live the way God asks us to live. You know? So, you know, it's it's it's it's difficult, you know. It's like you walking against everybody and everything that you know.
SPEAKER_02That's how life is sometimes.
SPEAKER_01You know, and it's like a lot of times You know, you're gonna you're gonna get hit, hit, you're gonna get told, you're gonna get joked on. So who wants to who wants to go through all that? Nobody. God did.
SPEAKER_02We're made in his image, right?
SPEAKER_01God did it for us, you know.
SPEAKER_02So we're made in his image, right? So that means we're we're capable of we're not gonna have an easy life.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Because he made us soldiers, you know, you know, he made us ready to give it those hits, by the way, you know? Yeah, made us have like, oh, take it.
SPEAKER_01Football show that we're gonna be able to do it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, we take that, you know what I mean? Take those hits because we gotta go against the grain.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02The right thing is the best thing.
SPEAKER_01It's the best thing, but it's the hardest. Not a lot not not a lot of us, you know, are willing to take that sacrifice, you know? Why? Because we're selfish and we just think about us. We don't think about our our what we're gonna live, leave our children, you know, the inheritance. Because you know, the Bible says that everything you do, you know, it shall fall into your third generation. So whatever you you do and you don't pay here in this world, you go, you die, you know, your your children will pay for it. If not your children, your grandchildren. You know, it's a lot of things that we don't know.
SPEAKER_02Create good karma.

SPEAKER_02Do good things. I didn't know that, and I'm glad to hear that because I've I'm always doing like I'm doing it for my kids, you know what I mean? Like we gotta do it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so why not? Yeah, so you know, it's like um, you know, we want to leave a good inheritance for our children, you know, and uh and what it remember the the the the the the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, so you know we our kids are the reflection of us, we are the reflection of our parents. Whatever we saw and lived is what we're gonna live through. Well, you know, it's it's a chain that we have to we have to break.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but um, some things are in the genes. So I I was adopted, yeah, and I found my sisters and my brother's couple mom, and it's weird, me and my sister were all adopted in different homes, but we all have similar traits. So it has to be the genes.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's that's true.
SPEAKER_02It's it's you just can't miss something.
SPEAKER_01So you're just born with it.
SPEAKER_02You just can't, yeah, you just can't dodge some things, you know. You just have to learn how to control them.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. And so so we worked together, and um I already had experience of what it was to go out with friends, partying, nightclubbing, but she didn't have the opportunity. So she asked me if she could go to her out with her friends, her co-workers, and I said yes. Thinking that As you should have. Thinking that I would it's not gonna be a selfish thing. I mean, it would be a selfish thing.
SPEAKER_02You're understanding, yeah.
SPEAKER_01So, you know, like she I let her go, but I told her, you know what, just that's fine with me. Just don't get a habit of every weekend thing. You know, the latest you could come home is three in the morning. That's question it. Three in the morning, and I told her if I can if I call you, it's not to find out or or where you're at, it's just to see if you're alright, you know, because you barely just you're buried starting to go out like they're a free K, a bird out of the cane. So she tried that and she liked it. So she wanted to do it every weekend.
SPEAKER_02Oh, that's really too much.
SPEAKER_01And I was You already had your kid? Yeah, yeah, that's no no. I was at home, you know, waiting for her till she got home with my child. I had I would shower her, feed her, put her to bed. Good dad. You know, and I would stay up, you know, waiting for her. And she it got to a point where she asked me if she could stay over her friend's house. And I told her, you know what? Yeah, you could. No, I told her, get your stuff, but just make sure you're bringing if your friend brings you right now, so you could get your stuff, you know, because if you have a house to come to, you have a child and you have your husband. But if you want to go stay at your friend's house and you want to be there, you want to start going out every weekend, that's fine. I'm not gonna hold you back, but just not here. You're not gonna walk over my dignity as a man. So, you know, I got her stuff, I put it in bags, and I put it out right outside the door. She didn't come with her friend, she came with her family. She called her family, said that I kicked her out, and her family came trying like trying to downgrade me, trying to make talk smack to me.
SPEAKER_02She didn't have to go.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I told her, like, you know what?
SPEAKER_02She didn't have to go.
SPEAKER_01She didn't, she she didn't have to go, right?
SPEAKER_02You gave her a choice. Oh, you could either stay home or leave, right? Yeah. So she could have stayed home.
SPEAKER_01She told her family, she told her family what I had done, but she didn't tell her family why. So when I told her family why was going I acting that way, her family started flipping on her and started telling her, Oh, yeah. So you want to be out there like a single person, knowing that your husband's here and your daughter's here. You want to be sleeping at your friend's house? I'm like, yeah, she didn't tell you that part, huh? She just told you what I had done. So I told her she could take her stuff. I'm not gonna hold her back. But my daughter's gonna stay with me.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, uh, she shouldn't.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, like preferred, she shouldn't like she wants to better figure it with she wants to leave, she wants to leave the house. Yeah, that's right. She wants to be single, that's fine. But you know, this is this apartment. I got it for you and my daughter. My daughter doesn't have to go nowhere though. And that's right. And she she called the cops. They called the cops, the cops knocked on my door, my daughter was asleep, they came in, my daughter woke up and she was crying.
SPEAKER_02Sorry.
SPEAKER_01And she she she she reached out to her mom's arms. You gotta take in mind that she hasn't seen her mom all day because her mom was at work.
SPEAKER_02So she wants her to be with her mom?
SPEAKER_01So the cops tell me that she needs to go with her mom because the baby wants to be with the mom. Look at her. Oh they use that as an excuse.
SPEAKER_02You should be like, no.
SPEAKER_01And I told her, like, I told I told the cops, like, look, she wants to live the single life, that's fine. I'm not gonna hold her back. But there's no reason why my daughter should leave her house. This is my daughter's house. And the cops were like, Well, you're gonna have to take that over court. They should have left the baby. You know, like you're gonna have to put that with the court.

SPEAKER_01So when they took my daughter, I slammed the door in the cops' face.
SPEAKER_02They took a they took your baby?
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02That's illegal. Because if they were not sheriffs in the state of company, that's illegal, that's kidnapping.
SPEAKER_01It's kid.
SPEAKER_02Because it has to be sheriffs to take a child out of the house, it has to be sheriffs.
SPEAKER_01It was just regular according to the police.
SPEAKER_02I would I would sue the shit out of their asses. What's I I would swear to you? Like, I I swear, like, sue that is illegal. That's technically kidnapping.

SPEAKER_02That's uh seriously, kidnapping California is illegal, they have to be sheriffs.
SPEAKER_01Well, I was I was young and and I didn't have nobody to back me up. I had it's like I said, it just gets better.

SPEAKER_01I was about to say so bad. So, okay, so um, so she takes my they took my daughter, right? And I slammed the door and the cops' face.

SPEAKER_01They come and they knock on my door and they say, you know what, we admire you because not many fathers would have waited for us to get here. Many fathers would have just let their babies go. I'm like, this is my daughter's house. My daughter didn't have to leave. But you guys are taking it from me. So I slammed the door in their face again, boom. And I just stayed in an apartment with my daughter not there, my you know, my family just being destroyed, my own. So I lost my job, I got away from everybody because my mom and my dad I guess they thought I wasn't very responsible at the time or whatever. You know, I had mean I I had I had a place, you know, I had a job. So I I we went to court because she didn't she was just making it very difficult for me to s she wasn't coping with me in order for me to s be with my daughter or see her. You know, she wanted me to be at her time, you know, and at only at the time that she wanted and the days that she wanted. So I tried it, but then it was just it was just difficult to you know to deal with her. So we had we bumped heads a lot. And she ended up telling the judge that you know she wanted me to um to get uh supervised visits because uh she didn't feel comfortable because of the people I hanged around with, because I was a gang member, because I sold drugs. And having mind that at the time I'm not doing none of that, so she uh so that's when I started doing that's when I got that was my downfall. I got away from everybody, my mom, I daddy and called him, uh my apartment was just dark, everything was just everywhere, my daughter's pictures were off the walls, you know, just it was an empty empty cave. You know, like there was nothing but had there was nothing but darkness and sadness in that place. There was nothing no more. So my mom she went to look for me and she found me in the house and she seen that I was just drinking, you know, just didn't care. She told me you leave the apartment and come home with me, because you know, you're gonna you're gonna lose yourself. So I went, I did leave the apartment and I moved with her, and then I was on Facebook and I reached I seen a friend of mine that was in high school and he out of nowhere just got lost. He went MIA and I hit him up and I said, What's up? Where were you been at? He's like, Oh, I've been around, you know, like damn, like you you you got lost. We thought you had died or something. You know, like you went MIA, and then he's like, he said, uh no, I just I went up to Mendocino, I went to go trim. He's like, uh, what are you doing? I'm like, oh, I'm right here in my house, you know, how's your family? I'm like, nah, well. I started explaining my situation. And he said, Damn, that's fucked up, you know, like can't believe she's doing that to you. But yeah. So he invites me, thing, he invites me to his uh to his house, and um he's doing meth infamy. And I've done coke before, but he at this at this time he he askes me if I want to try it. I said, Yeah, you know, like I'm going through so much right now, like I need something to like relax me. Well, I tried it. We did we stayed in a room for for like two uh two, three weeks, ounces, just snoring lines. And his dad was like, hey son, come here. He's like, uh, are you okay? Like, uh is this gay or what? You know, thinking I was gay because you haven't left home, you know, and we've been stuck in that room. So I'm like, his dad's like, no, that's my friend, you know, we've been catching up and this and that. He's going through the situation. I got to know his dad and everything there, he thinks he was good, you know, he's cool. So that was my trend, my introduction, my introduction to drugs. That was my downfall. Now, most of the people in drugs is because we either have pain, sadness, or some type of trauma or anger. You know? I've read a lot of books through my time being incarcerated in prison and the county. My books, the reason book the reason the books I read is uh self-help books, books that are gonna help me in life or better myself or be a as a in general, like be a better parent, better husband for the future. You know, if you invest time in anything that you want, you will get good results. At least if you uh put an effort. And you know, like I did I I you know, I don't want well my daughter, she's already going through the the trauma of the situation. She's going through depression, she's she she's become a cutter, she cuts herself. You know, she's she talks like she has um talked about her being fat, you know, and she she's a very beautiful girl. She's 15. And I talked to her and I told her like, you know, like because I really haven't talked to her much because I I've been in in and out of jail. I've missed out a lot. And you know, I recently started talking to her, and she tells me, Dad, look, I love you. Like just get yourself on your feet, you know, like I know you've done things in life that you know that are not so good, but you know, like you you learned your lesson and you're trying to do good, that's all that matters. You know, and I tell her, like, look, baby, like live life, don't rush into it. Don't make the same mistake me and your mom did, you know, where we had you at a young age and we were too young, and now you are going through the consequences of our mistakes. And she's like, she just hears me out and she's like, and I tell her, like, don't forget you have your dad, I'm your friend. You know, you could talk to me, you know, like I'm here, you know, and then she talked to me about her boyfriend, and I I hear her out. I don't tell her anything because I don't want to push her away from. Me. You know, I'm just I'm trying to gain her. I'm trying to gain her life. So, you know, I just tell her, like, you know, just make sure that he respects you and he values you for who you are. You know? I tell her to respect yourself and resp have him respect you. If he doesn't respect you, then he doesn't love you. I know like I tell her, you know, like like I you know, she should show me the stuff that she how he asked her out and all that. I tell her, like, I tell her, like, you know what, like, that's nice. You know, like he gives her roses. And I tell her, like, you know, that's that's a very good detail. The only bad thing is just that he he he lives up north and he has not that bad. And he has a pigtail. Oh red tail.
SPEAKER_02Oh, I mean, that means he might just be country. So I tell her than a mullet.
SPEAKER_01So I tell my daughter, you know, like just have him cut that fucking hair off.
SPEAKER_02And it's good that it's just a little distance. Yeah, to miss each other more.
SPEAKER_01Oh, she lives over there, she lives over there. Oh, okay. So her mom decided just to one day from one day to another just to move out to Fresno without even letting me know or asking me if I was okay with it. So when I found out, she was already over there. And I tell her, like, why did you do this? Take this this um made this decision without you know like even like start talking to me, like you know, like um, you know how much gas I'm on the way, you know, like because the court asked me that I could see my daughter the second week out of every month, and they put child support of 400 and something the monthly.

SPEAKER_01Without me having any record or anything. And they fucked me over, you know. And I didn't do anything about it because at the time I didn't know I was young, I didn't know about laws.
SPEAKER_02You need to still do something about it.
SPEAKER_01And my family, my mom and dad, they just told me don't do anything because anything you do to her, your daughter will suffer and will pay, and you're not gonna live with that in your life. Plus, you're not at the position to have her, or you know, you're not responsible or whatever.
SPEAKER_02So me I hope you have her reduced.
SPEAKER_01Me being young, I you know, like I they you know, like I didn't do anything. I didn't do anything about it. So I told you I t I I told the judge, I told the judge, like, I told the judge, um, I wanna like isn't that kidnapping? I told her, like, uh like that's kidnapping, like she took my daughter because I am her father. Without asking me, yeah. And they said that's fine. Yeah, it is because it's in the state. Because it's another county, you have to go and open a petition over there, and you have to go over there.
SPEAKER_02And I was like, And it's it's not Democratic State Lions, so it's technically not as bad if it's still in the same state. So it's like a little loophole.
SPEAKER_01And I was like, So I gotta do all that when I'm just like our case is open here. Why would I have to do all that?
SPEAKER_02Go there's yeah.
SPEAKER_01So I said, you know what? Fuck the system. Fuck the system, you know, like it's always to their convenience. And you know, like, it's just uh they they say that they're they're up, they're their their best interest is to keep families together. That's not that's bullshit.
SPEAKER_02Bullshit.
SPEAKER_01All that all the fucking they make money. For every child that they put up for adoption, they make money.
SPEAKER_02I'm adopted.
SPEAKER_01They see children, and it sucks because you know, like they sucks because of my my they they yeah, like they they send these kids with families that they don't know who really who really they are who they really are behind walls. You know, I got to see some people that they would take their kids to Disneyland, but they would leave the foster kids home. I would I thought that was messed up. Like those messed up, those people shouldn't have they shouldn't have, you know, like they and then instead of taking in consideration, okay, you know what, they say, oh yeah, family comes first, biological grand-grandparents, and then you know, like that's bullshit. No, that's not true. So, you know, I've seen that. And it's like it's like the first thing they want to do is pray for adoption. You know, it's like, what about the grandparents? What about the sisters? What about you know, like they don't they don't take them in consideration, you know? They're supposed to, but the the DCFS office in in Lancaster, you guys are all going to hell.

SPEAKER_01You guys are all going to hell because look at what's going on in the world like with Gabriel Fernandez and his other cases, and they're all from Lancaster's division. You know, like it's just it's messed up, you know, where we're our our children, the future of the of this world are going through. You know? You know, like the world's already fucked up as it is. Can you imagine what's gonna happen? I get scared because of my children. I have four, not just one. I have four. I have three girls and one boy. Wow. I have a 15-year-old, I have a six-year-old, a five-year-old, and a four-year-old.

SPEAKER_01But I walked out because it was just too much of a toxic relationship where she pushed me to be somebody that I didn't want to be. And I told her that I In a good way or a bad way? In a bad way. She made me put hands on her where I just I'm not that person. I'm not a violent person. And I told her that I didn't want to be that like my dad. I didn't want I told my mom when I was young, I I didn't want to be like my dad. But she put me to that, pushed me to that limit where I did, and after I did, I came to my senses, and I just I let her go and I told her I hate you because you made me become somebody I don't want to be. After that day, she just knew where to push and she would push me to that limit, and then after that would happen, everything was fine. She wanted to be with me, she wanted to love me, she wanted to be like I was like That's not toxic. I was like, Do you like do you are you into this shit?

SPEAKER_01I was like, I was like, you're you're maybe she wanted like some like rough sex or something. Oh you're sick as fuck.

SPEAKER_01I've been through a lot.
SPEAKER_02I've lived in the streets, you know, like sounds like you're a really good man and you've been through it, and so and it's like things are better or things have changed.
SPEAKER_01No, definitely. I left this relationship because I said, you know what, I love you, but I love myself and I love my freedom.
SPEAKER_02That's right.
SPEAKER_01And I walked out with only the clothes, oh, with only the clothes that I had on me. I left I left everything behind because I knew that me getting my stuff was just gonna it was gonna escalate to a fight in a worse situation. Now we lived in an apartment complex where there's neighbors that were gonna hear the cops were gonna get involved, and then I go to jail for a domestic violence case. That's not gonna happen. I was not gonna have that in my jacket. So before that happened, and before I heard her, because I I knew that it would either one of us were gonna get hurt, and I didn't want to yeah, I didn't want to be the one hurting her, and I wasn't the one that was gonna throw her out to the streets because that that's not that's not that's a bitch move. So I decided to leave. Because I know how hard it is for a man to be out of the streets. I could just imagine how it is for a woman. So I I was not gonna put it to that. So I just I walked out, you know, and I lived in the streets for a few minutes, momo to momo, you know, hustling. I I'm a very good hustler, so I I had for three months I had a room paying a hundred and 140 a night. I had a room, I had clean clothes. Just because you're living in the streets does not mean you gotta let yourself go. You know? I still I I always kept a face, a smile on my face. I never let it get to me, or at least it didn't show. Because you know, the streets sees you weak and it will suck you in. And if you're not strong enough, you'll stay there. So, you know, like and it's hard after 10 years being with her, you know, you're used to that person, you're used to know like you're comfortable, you know, you get comfortable, you know, but it's like what what's what's w is it worth it, really like your freedom? You know, hurting a person that you care about, and then not just hurting them, hurting yourself because you had to live with that for the rest of your life. Being in this in a cell where you have to think about I killed the mother of my children, and now I'm doing life, and now your children don't want to talk to you because you killed their mother. I thought about all of that, and so I just walked out. I said it's not worth it. You know, like I love my freedom, I love being free, I love putting my own clothes on. I've been incarcerated most of my life. My dad told me this one day, and I will never forget. He told me, son, what's wrong with you? He said, You're 34 years old and you spend most of your life in jail and prison. And that got to me, and I thought about it, I was like, damn. You know, and I looked at my dad and I'm like, he's getting older. He's got more white hairs, he's got more ring, he's got wrinkles, you know, and I said, like, do I really want to live and be in prison or in jail? And my parents pass away and I'm not able to attend their funeral, or me not being able to be there. I said no. So I you know, I I I said my children are growing and I've wasted so much time already. So, you know, and in jail it's for the birds. Now I look at it and it's like maybe back in the days when I was younger, maybe then it was fun. But now it's just it's just watered down. And keep in mind that every time I get locked up, I'm I'm in a good position. You know, I I'm in play, I have a pad, I ass I'm part of, you know, assisting. So, you know, like I have it, I have it good in there, you know. I make money, send money out, but it's not the same as being free and being able to eat whatever you want, put your own clothes on. If you want to be with women, most definitely be with women, you know, like you know, like the number one thing, yeah, you know, and it's just like you know, like just be with your kids, it doesn't even have that just know the fact that you know you're you're free. Yeah. And you're able to walk walk wherever the fuck you want, you know, without whether without without having to put your hands in your pockets, without having to tuck in your shirt, without having to, you know, listen to these fucking cops. It's you know, it's way better. Now, right now, as we speak, I have a warrant for my arrest for ab scouting. I missed checking, uh checking in. I called my P.O. This was in the process of me leaving the leaving the relationship.
SPEAKER_02So this is recent.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, six months ago. And I called my PO and I told her, like, I missed my check-in because this situation happened. Here to explain myself why, because I left the paper in the refrigerator and I left everything behind. She said, Well, you could come into the office and we'll we'll have to take you in. I said, I left the I left the place because I wasn't trying to create a case on myself of domestic violence. I wasn't trying to hurt anybody. You would think that she would be like, you know what? Okay, you know what? I'm being understanding, you know what? Come in, check in, and we'll continue from there. No, she just said, come in and we'll have to take you in. I said, fuck this, I'm not gonna go in.
SPEAKER_02So wouldn't it just be like a flash?
SPEAKER_01Six months we have, three months.
SPEAKER_02Three months. That'll go back this.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but just to think about it, I know, but I'm enjoying my freedom right now, and I'm not doing none of the stuff that I was doing then. Right now I have six months out and I have not gotten into any trouble. I went to go get my ID, I went to go get my social.
SPEAKER_02Right, good job.
SPEAKER_01I was about to get a job as a caregiver because I'd done caregiving before. I had a patient in Santa Carita that wanted me to move into his house. I was gonna have my own room and everything. But because I didn't have my ID and all that, I couldn't get it. You know, and because I can't have my license because of child support, because I'm backed up on it, I can't get my license, I couldn't get it. So this opportunity went by. It was a good opportunity, but it wasn't meant for me. No, it wasn't meant for me. God knows why. Only he knows. He works in a mysterious way, but we don't understand him sometimes. And I just saw it as another opportunity will come ahead. He has something better for me. You know? You think like that?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but but you know, but yeah. You have to be not discernment, you know, discernment enough, you know? Um like so a lot of times when you're having a spiritual battle, like the devil is a deceiver, he's a trickster.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And so right now when you're going through it, like like it's good you're like doing better, but like you gotta like cross your teeth, you know, and dye your eyes too. But that'll make a way.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Yeah. And I I went to go turn myself in in Van Ice. One day I thought about it. I was like, you know what? Fuck this. I'm just gonna go get over get it over with. I went and turned myself in Van Ice, and I told the first cop that was there, I told him I'm here to turn myself in. He said, Why? He said, I told him, because I have a warrant for my arrest for a scam. I'm like, what type of violation? I'm like, I forgot to check in. He's like, Are you sure you want to do this? He looked at me like I was crazy. And he's um I told him no, I'm not sure about this. I'm like, but if you're willing to let me walk out right now, I'll turn around and just walk out. He said, I don't want to do all the paperwork. He said, he said, because then I'll have to call a unit, they'll have to come and arrest you, and I have to do all that. So he's like, just come back tomorrow. Now keep in mind, this is a felony. I have a felony warrant. They're supposed to keep you in.
SPEAKER_02Why is it felony?
SPEAKER_01Because you you forgot to check in, it's a violation. A violation, it's already a felony.

SPEAKER_02Like that's like nothing.
SPEAKER_01I know, but it's it's any anything, any type of violation for Pearl, it's it's you know, the the once it's a violation, they they if a cop pulls me up over right now, he has to take me in because it's a felony. I might not be doing anything wrong, just for the simple fact that I have a felony warrant, I have to go in. So it was a weird proof.

SPEAKER_01And my check in is I'm just supposed to go and let her know if there's any changes. I don't even get drug tested because I don't even have drug cases.

SPEAKER_01So yeah, so you know, like I've been I've been I haven't been doing the stuff that I used to do. I have seven priors for stolen vehicles. I went to prison for seven pounds of dope, a couple kilos of heroin, six stolen vehicles, and a duffel bag full of ammunition. The cop looked at me and he said, What are you going to war? They didn't find a gun. They the car that I had, they pulled it apart right there and then. They were looking for a gun, they wanted to find a gun, but they didn't find one. So they offered me 16 years. I had a I had a pay lawyer. I took six with half. I was supposed to do three years, but they tried to send me to Chino prison. And Chino prison is not a good prison. It's SNY yard, two fibers, two. What does that mean? Two uh SNY is um dropouts, there's PCs there.
SPEAKER_02We don't know what that's what that means.
SPEAKER_01Protective custody, there's snitches, there's rapists, there's women beaters, there's trannies, there's all the bad bad, bad stuff. All the the bottom of the barrel, the scellywags.

SPEAKER_01People that couldn't handle handle it and they just decided to cooperate or tell on two and get tell on three and get out for free, you know. You know, so it's like I couldn't, you know, I'm a I'm an active Sureño and I live in the streets and I walk the streets without having to take care of my back because I know that my paperwork is good.

SPEAKER_01Paperwork means that I don't have I'm not a I'm not a protective custody, I'm not I didn't lock it up.

SPEAKER_01I'm a GP, I'm a I'm a general population.

SPEAKER_01So um so they try to send me there, and I in order for you to get off of those yards, you have to get off. Which getting off means you have to, as soon as you arrive there, you you get off on the first person that you see like that you find programmed uh inmate.
SPEAKER_02Like so that's not hard when you get in a place like that, right?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you they're like everywhere. They're everywhere. See, but they they because everybody was doing it. The people that were in reception receiving you, they were not, they were the cops now, giving you the guys the giving us the clothes. It wasn't the inmates no more because people started getting off on the first people they saw handing you the clothes, they were getting off on them. So they they started they start they started minimizing for us a way for us to get in contact with them right away. So you have to actually reach the dorm. And you got like you got a whole dorm waiting for you at the door with padlocks on the socks, with what yeah, and when you go in there, they ask you that they already know. They already know. You're either gonna program with them or you're gonna or you're gonna take off. Meaning or you're gonna fight with them, yeah. So they're waiting for you, and as soon as you walk in those doors, the cops turn around, they walk away.
SPEAKER_02And they know what's gonna happen.

SPEAKER_01They set you up. But see, they changed that already because a lot of a lot of homies got hurt. A lot of homies their families, their families sued them because of what they were doing.

SPEAKER_01They shouldn't have been in the let's if you had bad if you had shh if you had big high level points. What does that mean? High level points means that you're a person that you cannot you have um write-ups that you that your your crimes are like violent. If you have high points, what they would do, they would they would uh someway somehow there's a a particular word for it. They would recalculate them and m make them go small in order for you to pro go to a have to hit a 50-50 yard, a bad prison. So let's just say I have 20 points. 20 is high points. Example. They would recalculate my stuff my points and they would make me go to five points for me to be low. And I would I would have to hit one of those bad yards. They wanted to see us they wanted to see who they wanted to see us flip. They wanted to see more people be on those sides because nobody wanted we lost a lot of we lost a lot of righteous Sureños, a lot of righteous homies.

SPEAKER_02So did they know that they had to do that?
SPEAKER_01They knew they had to do that, but they wanted to they didn't want to get beat up. Why would they get beat up if they Because once you hit those yards, they they're waiting for you.
SPEAKER_02So hold on, I'm sorry. So you're telling me that those the predators and those people have lower points than the Yeah.
SPEAKER_01They have low low security points, yes.
SPEAKER_02Like, but those are the worst. Yeah, but they're so they have little that means like low, low, like a like a lower low security points. Yeah. So lower security. So that means like they don't get locked up that much or something. No, they get locked up.

SPEAKER_01Okay. What I've heard is that even in those bat yards, the inmates are taking care of, like they still kill and they stab. Probably more, probably, because like they're probably not like in they don't they don't they don't have a pro a program, they don't have structure.

SPEAKER_01They don't work out, they don't they don't program. If they want to, they could play with blacks. You know, if they what do you mean by that? The black uh okay, so in the California prison and and um and politics our politics here in California is more about racial. I've spoken to people in my from Miami and they said that jails and prisons over there, they're not about racial. They're more about it's more about respecting their politics is more about respect and other and other other stuff. But here in California our politics is more uh based on our racial. Like the blacks sit with the blacks, they eat with the blacks, they have their own beds. You know, us Southsiders, we're not allowed to eat with them, we're not allowed to play with them, we're not allowed to just you know, sit in their beds. We're not allowed to. We we showers, we have our we have our own showers, they have their own showers, we have our own toilets, they have their own toilets, they have their own sinks, we have our own sinks, they have their own working out bar, we have ours.
SPEAKER_02Are you that just in jail or is that like all your life? Like in or all their life?
SPEAKER_01That's just in the California jail system, prison or county or in the county. You know if they open up a bag of chips, you cannot eat from their bag of chips.
SPEAKER_02Because of the because of the color?
SPEAKER_01Because of the race, yeah. That's sad. You would have to open up the bag of chips first, get your chips, and then you could give them the bag. We can't we can't do a lot of things, you know. And uh and it's crazy because sometimes sometimes not even your own people's looked out for you. If you're hungry and you have you want a soup, sometimes it's the blacks that will give it to you. And your home and the homies they would just be like, I don't have any, or you know what? I have some but I have enough just for the rest of the the week. You know, and it's like you know, it's it's it's fucked up when you see other people uh or person that's you know the enemy, you know, be the one that looks out for you.
SPEAKER_02You know, so yeah, you know, like it's It's because they know how to have the the last of something, you know?
SPEAKER_01Or like you know, so like it's not it was such in a in a sense because like like like a lot of times they don't see color, they just see like heart, you know, like um a lot of black a lot of blacks they are you know I mean I I have I know black fri I have black I have black friends. Black people are very religious. They are they they they when it comes to religion, you know, and they're brought the fact that they're in jail and the fact that they are the way they are is not because they were brought up like that. That's just the lifestyle they they chose. It's like me. I chose this lifestyle. My mom and dad, they blame themselves sometimes. They ask me, what did we do wrong? I tell them, you guys didn't do anything wrong. I you guys raised me right, you guys you guys gave us everything, you know. We always had a roof over our heads, we had clothes, we had we had more than what we needed.
SPEAKER_02It's a system, but the system was made to target men.
SPEAKER_01But the problem is that the we you know, I came from a broken home and my mom and dad they were always at work. They were never really at home. So I found that attention and that beloved like that feeling of I belong to somewhere, or you know or you know that my my homeboys they care for me, you know, like they they they they um they teach they teach me how to be a how to be tough, you know, like they teach me, you know, like how to make money. So that I felt like you know that was this that was that was my family, you know. But just because my mom and dad weren't there, I still don't judge them, you know.
SPEAKER_02They had to pay for things, they had to make it make away, you know?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I don't judge them because me as a father, I make my I'm making my own mistakes, you know, and I'm not nobody I'm not nobody to judge.
SPEAKER_02You know, and it's like you know, like I didn't understand that when we were younger though.

There's a lot of things that are going on, wars and all that. And what scares me is that a lot of people don't think about this, but it's like nobody knows when will be the our last day. Are we ready? Am I ready? No. So that's the only thing that scares me. Like, am I gonna have a chance to repent? Will I have that opportunity or will I not?
SPEAKER_02That's why you have to be lived every day as your best so you don't have to worry about repenting. Do your best so you don't have to like take that hands.

SPEAKER_02No, it depends on what your intention, you know, it depends on your intention behind it. Because it it's it's one thing if you're like forgiving it and you're like purposely doing it, but we're human, but that's why he sent his son Jesus, so he could be forgiven. Because before that, we were like sacrificing our goats and our things, but then that's why he put himself and that's why he was the ultimate sacrifice, so we can be forgiven. It's because I hang around with people that are live life already and they've experienced and they give me you know, they they put me on game. They give me flecha. I mean that means school. They give me school. So, you know, like just choose learn how to choose your friends and make sure that if they're gonna be your friends, they're gonna be something that you know, like you that something positive out of them, you know, like something you can learn. Yeah, exactly. You know, like so that's gonna it's gonna be a good a good a good reason uh in your life, you know, like if he's gonna if he's gonna cause you to get into trouble if he's gonna cause you to uh to to do bad things. I mean I know where you're staying with them.

And so in a lot of states, it's justifiable and it's okay. I mean California is like the only one that's fucked up California's social freedom. Like you can get you can rob with somebody and get caught in their chimney and then like shoot that person and the pr and then win. It's like legal robbery. Only California, you know? That's crazy. Because you're not allowed to protect your property.
