Welcome to Inside a Perfect Paint Job. I'm Jeff Adkins, your host. Let's talk about picking the right paint for the right surface. We have a lot of different surfaces. We have metal on our home. We have wood, cement, brick, you know, we can have cedar. There's just a lot of different surfaces. And even on the inside of your house, we have different surfaces. We do things differently in bathrooms, trim, doors, and then walls and ceiling. Normally, like on a ceiling, we use personally use premium ceiling paint. It's our go-to on ceiling paint. We normally don't tint our ceiling paint. On occasion, a customer will want it tinted. But for the most part, ceiling paint makes it really easy. And it's all about the same. The only time it's not the same is if we're painting the ceiling of an exterior surface. A lot of times we'll get into painting ceilings there, and we always use exterior paint for that because it's better for that. And on the exterior of your house, you know, most of the houses we paint, on the, let's just say this outside area, we're just painting trim. That trim, I personally want to put the best paint I can on that trim because I don't want to go back up there and paint it in a few years. So we normally go with a duration for that, and we also like the duration rain refresh real well. The rain refresh is uh one of Sherwin Williams products that's just really nice. Um it's a self-cleaning. Um it's just um every time it rains, it supposedly refreshes itself. I'm not gonna say that it does 100%, but every building we've done in this in the past has not needed pressure washed yet. So um it's a really good product, and um they have a number of products that are really good. Um another one that I like um for the interior of your house that came out after COVID was the sanitizing. Um it literally when you touch a light switch and you get your hand on the wall around it, um most people don't do that, but if you do, this self-cleaning paint is supposed to kill the germs, and when I touch that behind you, it's safe for me. So uh a lot of different products that they have, and we are going to talk about that soon. I'm bringing my rep in here. Um let's see. Um awnings on these houses on the south side. There's a lot of metal awnings, most of them's gone, but the ones that are there, they take a special product. It's called DTM, direct to metal. Um, this is a a wonderful product. We do a lot of um uh fascia when we repaint uh soffits and fascia on a house that's um really not supposed to be painted because the soffits are normally a metal or and the fascia is too, um, and that's the great thing about it. But you know, after 25 plus years, um painting these um makes it look a whole lot better than it did. So we do paint a lot of those as well. Um another good kind of paint is um porch and floor paint. Um we use this a lot in the commercial applications on floors, uh, but it's a wonderful product for any porch, whether it be a wood porch uh decking or a concrete deck. Um the floor and porch and paint is just a wonderful product. Um also there is um a lot of other things like epoxy surfaces and stuff. We don't do it, but we do have a company that does it for us, and um it's just uh a different animal and it takes different products as well. So this kind of touched on the different products, you know. I didn't go over every one and go into the materials and all that kind of good stuff in them, but I'm gonna leave that for our Sherwin Williams rep. Um, hopefully by the time this airs, we'll have one in the works with him. We're supposed to do it this week. Um, but it's summertime. Who knows what's actually gonna happen.
