In this week's episode I'm joined by Sarah O'Donavan Geraldine Kinane, Trish Jackman and Susan Earner, as we look ahead to the beginning of Group 1 in the All-Ireland championship and discuss each counties chances in the All-Irelandc, and where each tam stands going into the competition. We also look at way's to get more media access to the sport and what more can be done to get more interest in the game.

And welcome to the latest episode of the Talk and Comoge podcast. It's a very special episode this week where we look ahead to the start of the Group One in the All-Ireland Senior Championship. And I have four different guests this week, all from representing each of the four counties, Galway, Cork, Tipperary, and Orford. We have two brand new guests making their talk and comoge pot debut. We also have two returning guests. Making their debuts, we have representing Galway, we have an All-Ireland winner, two-time All-Star, two All-Ireland Pook Father winners. Of course, the former Offly manager, my own county, off Offly, so she's very welcome to the pod. And she also won an intermediate and junior with Galway and a 13-year intercount career. Susan Ernell, you're very welcome to the podcast. Hi, how are you? Thanks for inviting me on. And from Walter also making her debut, seven-time All-Ireland book father winner, multiple asperal clubs. She's had 14 seasons for an intermediate and junior All Ireland and an All Ireland Intermediate Club title. Trish Jackman, you're very welcome to the pod. Thank you for having me. From Tipperary making her second appearance on the pod is Gerlin Cannon. Gerlin, you're very welcome back to the pod. Thanks, Joel. Glad to be back. I think that was her fourth appearance on the pod from Clark, Sarah O'Donovan. Sarah, it's great to have you back on again. Delighted to be on. Well, look, it's a big weekend now for all your panties, I suppose. Started the championship. I suppose the new format now as well. Like just maybe going into it now, start the championship because I had much pressure because all four teams will qualify. So I suppose still they'll be looking though to get the wins and get a semi-final place, the top two. So if you can get your opinion, maybe on the new format, just got start with you, Sarah. Yeah, obviously with the interest in Dublin. I've been keeping an eye over the last couple of weeks. And unfortunately for Dublin, the last two games haven't worked out. They're two defeats from two. And you know, after losing the league final, after losing the Leinster final, it hasn't been a great start. And I suppose I I would have seen them as one of the more stronger teams in the I suppose this new format at the outset. But it looks like you know, Wexford, Claire, uh Limerick have got a win. It looks like those teams have really stolen the march, and you know, obviously Kilkenny are are getting real momentum from it. And I suppose that's my concern with the new format with my core hat on is will some of these teams have too much momentum for the the teams in in the second pot in a couple of weeks' time. So I'd like to know the girls' opinions on that, whether they think that in Camoge, because we've so few competitive games, that that bit of momentum is actually really, really important. And and that's where the likes of Kilkenny could really go forward this year. Kilkenny definitely, like I've been watching the underage coming up there as well. It's scary to see them feature in like nearly everything, the minor, the under you know, the under 16. Now they're they're they're seeing that come good again now at senior level. So a lot but they are flying it there. They're on the top there with you know their wins and stuff. But for like Dublin, you know, there's still a lot of teams in that group, like Offie, Limerick, Wexford, and Dublin. They're they are very on par, I think. That's my opinion. And I do think, you know, it could go anyway for any of them games. So I do think Kilkenny will definitely come out and talk. Claire, there's a resurgence there with Claire. I think it will be Kilkenny and Claire in the top two, but it's I think it's between any of the rest, to be honest. I think Dublin could get a win. It's just on the day, I think. I suppose I think they're with two rounds played. We've had no you know, team get absolutely hammered or crazy winning score line. The last two years there's has been some score lines you'd be half afraid to publish because it wasn't doing Camogi any good. There was some trouncons. And I think it's certainly the new format has worked from that kind of view. I suppose with my PR hat on, you know, you're you're not having you know, maybe a dairy up against a Cork or a Galway, or even, you know, we you know give Limerick or Wexford a few big beatings the last few years, and it didn't do any any good for Wexford or Limerick. It certainly didn't do any good for Tipperary, and I think from uh from a Tipperary point of view, we have three really tough matches coming up. We have the safety net of a quarter final, but as I'm saying here the whole time, you don't want to be going into a quarter final. I mean, either except T Kenny or Claire, which who are out in front at the moment, who probably yeah, Claire will probably go unbeaten now. We could have three losses and playing Claire or sorry, Klikenny will probably go unbeaten. We'll have three losses and playing Tikenny in a quarter final. That's uh that's a scary enough prospect. So certainly I'm thinking Tip and Waterford game on Sunday is absolutely crucial because whoever wins that, at least if they don't get over Cork and Galway, they have one win behind them and they're probably facing either Claire or Tikenny. So, you know, that's it's I do think it's a wee, I think it's a much better structure because it's gets rid of the very one-sided lopsided games. Maybe two coming out of that other group is a bit tough as well. Like so Dublin or or Wexville or Limerick probably are going to get a few results, but mightn't come out of the group at all where before they would have got third. But again, quarterfinals, again with my PR hat on, they were great, they were double headers, they were in Crowe Park, there were four all iron semi-finals, but there have been some very one-sided quarterfinals as well. And really, I think you know it's the semi-final stages where we see the best Camogi. But I think the quarterfinals this year will be much more competitive because you'll have the top two teams, you know, really after building momentum, having a few good wins behind them as well. Yeah, and just on group two, we'll just go through the results from the weekend. Uh Tikenney had a 316th or 216th to 112 win over Dublin, while the Metro Park clear came out top 3-9 to 111 over Wexford, and then down in Limerick they had a 313 to one win or 114 win over Offley. And I was at that game, like it was a very tough Limerick got the game, it was a very entertaining game. Like Limerick got where eight points up at halftime, like Offley got back to two points at one stage in the second half when um clawed a goal, but then Limerick got a goal not long after that, which was one of those goals I think Sarah described it before as the Camogie goal, or just a long-range effort from distance went in, and offshe could never really claw back then after that. But actually, on that, just Laura Southern, she got a lovely point there at one stage in the first half from out by sideline. And everyone there, all the even the offspring supporters were clapped, clearing it and clapping it. It was that good. Like, so you know, I've been very impressed actually by Laura this year. So and Donna Kenny also played really well. She scored 1-10 like overall, three one three for play. She had a great game like for Limerick. So that was that group anyway. But after two rounds, the table is the Kinney and top with six points, let clear just behind them, during six points on point difference. Then you have Offley and Limerick leveled on three points each, Offley ahead on point difference. Then you have Wexford and double on zero points, just Wexford fifth, double six. So that's how that group stands out after two rounds. Kikini obviously looking there are strong positions to qualify now, anyway. So if they win at the weekend, they'll be in a great position then. Then in the also that weekend we have the Premier Junior got underway with round one. Whitlaw, not six, Cavan 6-14. That's common set Tyrone 2-8-1-6, and our pet clear one eighteen to one eleven. While in the second round of junior championships, Monitan had a one-eight to three-five victory over Laute, and Donegal had a one fourteen to three five win over Mayo. So that's the action in that. So I suppose now we get on to the group one now in this coming weekend. Like obviously Sunday we have Tiberi taking on Warford, and like from the what Tiberi's perspective, Geraldine, you're coming in with a bit of confidence anyway to the game. You know, if we're winning the Munster Championship and that, and seem to have the strong squad there now this year as well. Yeah, look, obviously Munster went well for us. I suppose getting over Cork was massive because we probably knew if we got over Cork, you'd have a good chance of beating Limerick and then you'd have a third game. And I think there was a big gap, you know, this year between Munster and the and the All-Irland Championship starting. So if you had lost your first game, you're a long time without a game, and and I don't know how Cork are dealing with that. Maybe it'll suit him because I think I don't think we know what's going to come with Cork on Saturday. But um I suppose Tip were delighted to get three competitive games and then have a couple of weeks before Waterford. Um obviously it was brilliant to get over Waterford, but like there was nothing in it. Um 114-14, and you know, Waterford will look back on you know, they hit they dominated some periods of that game and probably didn't put it on the scoreboard. Laurel and Annax put off a few saves as well. I think both teams will feel there's more in them. I definitely think there was more in Tip, and I and I I certainly think there's more in Waterford as well. So I think whoever clicks on Sunday, uh to me it's a 50-50 game. I mean it was a huge advantage for Tip obviously to be at home in the Munster final and have the Tip uh J crowd behind us as well. It's going to be a different story now, Downwatch Park. We haven't played there much before at senior level. I I don't recall playing there anyway. So obviously Waterford are at home, they'd have a good home support. So you know the advantage probably is swinging back in their favour. But certainly Tip have a bit of momentum, but you know, that could all be stalled on Sunday if they don't get over Waterford. And um I really think whoever gets whoever wins that, you know, it's a it's a nice draw for both Tip and Waterford because that's the game they'll feel they have the best chance of winning, and you know, you know, you have a better chance facing Cork or Galway with a win behind you. And you'll have learned so much from that game, you know. So like obviously we're we're previewing the championship tonight before before the start, but we'll know so much more, I think, after uh you know, by Sunday evening, we'll know like you know, if either if Warfare can get a good win over Tip, they'll they'll feel like they've great chance of paying playing Galway or Cork likewise the other way. We don't know like this time last year, Cork have was an awful truncity in in the group stages of the championship. Will we see that Cork back again? We have certainly haven't seen him so far this year, but you know, they have plenty of time to get their house in order and and there could be a massive game in Cork against against Galway on Saturday. We probably everyone probably knows what to expect with Galway at this stage. They've been so consistent the last couple of years, they're all Iron champions uh for a very good reason. So, you know, it's I like like I keep saying we have the safety net of the quarter final, but I have to say, just starting thinking about the match on Sunday, I'm starting to get very nervous because I just think it's a massive, massive game for Bo Tip and Waterford, and it could really define their championship. You know, are the are the wheels going to start turning and build real momentum, possibly get a semi-final spot, or or you know, if things go wrong, it's very hard to turn around and face Cork a week later from a tip point of view. You know, if you're a a wounded, a wounded animal the following week, Cork could really come out and and and and do damage. So, like I think tip from a tip point of view, they really need a win on Sunday. Trish, just from the water point of view, I guess they've been knocking on the door now for I suppose a few years now, but they haven't seen to go. They've lost a couple of finals, going back to the Ireland final in 23, and then they lost their league final this year and the monster final. Do you think that'll affect them now going into the championship? And they've lost their confidence maybe a little bit going into it, start on Sunday. I think, you know, i if you look at where Waterford have come from 10 years ago, we were you know coming up from intermediate, and it's kind of a case of you know, every year you're looking for progression. And I think that's certainly been the case. This team have brought it to a new level the last few years. It's obviously been, you know, really difficult in terms of just falling short in some of those big games over the last number of years. But I think you know, there's an opportunity there in terms of you know seeing that the learning that can come from those as well. And I think, you know, in the National League final, we saw, you know, very competitive at uh you know, a few minutes ago, very difficult to change that as well, equally, you know, very tight games to finals. So I think that those approaches that we get back to those finals, those experiences were really valuable, you know, to young players coming through in tech score who are getting new exposure to those types of intensity of games, the kind of uh comments with those big games, big finals. So, you know, it would have been disappointing not to have so many work to go for that. But I think for the group that looked at that in the last few weeks, they'll look at this and think, you know, it's an opportunity now to build some momentum. I think the word has been used and I think that's that's really important in both of these groups. Waterford will look, they've got two home games at the start of the championship. So, you know, they very much want to put the best foot forward and and deliver a big performance. Obviously, Tip and Waterford know each other really, really well. And, you know, over the last number of years it's been, you know, two and you know, there's been wins for both teams. So it'd be very tight, I'm sure. I think it'll very much come down to on the day who can deliver the performance when it matters. But you know, I'm sure what for, you know, they'll have reflected on the league, reflected on the Munster Championship, and you know, see what they can take forward from that, see what are the areas that they can develop, and I'm sure they'll have tried to work on some of that over the last number of weeks. And it's and like there's definitely loads of quality in that water for team like at the moment, you know, they like the Keeley Carburry, you know, Ola Hickey, Beck Carton, obviously, Murray O'Brien, you know, like Lorraine Bray and Abby Finn. So it's more than enough quality and leave rocket there as well. And they have the experience as well, as you said already, and you know, experience maybe and they always say it takes you lose it, it takes to lose in a final maybe before to get the victory. Like, you know, and they've experienced that defeat now a few times though, and you know, that could be just put the lead now to get them over the line this year, maybe. Yeah, and I think if you look through the team, you know, there's a number of you know newer players, the players who've been there from 2009, 10, 11, 12, that kind of era, the players who came through in 15, but then you've got the likes of Lana McNote, Lee Safar, Solano, Sullivan, Emerills that have come through in the last couple of years. So they're starting to add that kind of the depth and that freshness to the squad as well. So, you know, it's very competitive to get into the team as well. Um, I'm sure that they'll be really focused on that. But I think if you look at the the panel that Waterford have um available this year, it's it's as strong really as it can be. And I think you know that should give them real real hope and confidence going into the championship. And Geraldine, just on Tipperary, obviously James Hefferman in his new win this year as a manager, first year as manager, he's had like in recent years, maybe Tipperary have been very unlucky with injuries, like especially last year. You know, obviously him at McGrammits the whole year, and then Murray Davison and Claude Kirk picked up injuries during the year. But this year, so far, anyway, it seemed to be going well with injuries, and they seem to have this the squad there very strong there together at the moment, like you know, and seem to be gelling first very well there, and even the bench coming off making an impact every day to come on first coming off the bench. Yeah, he probably had a good few injuries at the start of the year for the league and all. But I suppose that kind of works in the favour. We got a lot of game time into like Sake Ralph, Isabel O'Donnell, Selene Gainen, Amy Quinlisk. Unfortunately, Isabel O'Donnell actually picked up an injury, she's out for the year, but yeah, like we're you know, we don't have any other long-term injuries. I think there was a few knocks, maybe niggally knocks going into the Munster final, a few girls hadn't trained, but by all accounts, it's you know, they're all coming back at the right time. Like Casey Hennessy and Kareem Blair and Sarah Carkon missed a good bit of the league, but they're all back and fighting fish. So we had Casey come on and Sarah Carkin come on the last day, and obviously fighting for a start in place. You know, Celine Gynen, I think, went off a half time against Cork and Queen Mahart got in, and and and I think she got two player match awards in the two games she played from the Wunster Council. So, you know, she'll be fighting to start now in the first round championship. While Celine, I I'm hoping she came on the last day, so she's obviously back fit as well. So suddenly, yeah, certainly I agree with you. There seems to be a bit more competition there this year. Lucy Purcell, Gene Kelly, always really good to come off the bench as well, and Eve Trassi is the same. So, you know, I think you get a bit of a bounce maybe when a new manager comes in, and I think the girls have responded well to James. And I suppose they're all trying to impress, you know, there's the new management, new eyes, everyone has to, you know, impress again, and and and you know, he's he's open to maybe playing players in different positions, and he you know, everyone is getting a fair crack of the whip. So certainly there seems to be a bit more competition in places, and that's what you need. And I know he's called a few girls up from the under 23 panel as well for panel games as well since they finished as well. So I'm sure there's there's great competition. I suppose one concern would be that like Squeeva Staklin was doing her leave-insert, so she's been a great addition to the team this year, and but I imagine she won't feature on Sunday with with the leave-insert as well. So she's a big loss, you know, for them. But that's you know, giving other people a chance to step up, and certainly, you know, she's good for a couple of scores in every game. So, you know, it just means others have to for to step up now, you know. One aspect of the Tipperary game I've been impressed with this year is the ability from the half backline, like Kiva McCarthy and Karim Blair to step up and knock the ball over from distance, like Karina in particular. Like, and she's been doing that folk over the years, like even when she went back full back last year, she was still managing to do it. Like, so you know, that's the big plus for tip the in the armor of Tipperary as well. Like, you know, that they have defenders that can knock the ball over from long range like on a regular basis. Yeah, I suppose Kareem would have played more in the forward or in midfield or the forwards with Cashel. Um, she's a serious engine on her up and down the field all day, and she loves going forward. Obviously, that's something the management are instilling them, they're giving them the confidence to go forward, or I suppose they fate in the in the players behind them that they're telling them to go forward. I suppose it's part of the modern game as well. Creed McCarthy as well, another player who has huge strikes as well. So, and she's happy to take on her shots. So I think both half wing backs were were scoring two, maybe two points in every game in the Munster Championship. So if we can keep that going out for the All-Irland series, it would be brilliant. But certainly a downfall fall-off tip the last couple of years they weren't scoring enough front play. I mean, the days of scoring 1-9 or 1-10 is not good enough anymore. You have to begin up to the you know the high teens or 20 points now. And you know, if that means your midfield or wing backs probably all need to contribute, that's what has to happen. And uh luckily in Korean and Quiva, we probably have two players that can do that this year. But saying that, you know, uh Waterford would have noticed that in the Munster final, and I'm sure they'll be they'll be able to stop that tactic and stop the running game from the half back line, from Tip's half-back line uh on Sunday. Yeah, and Trish, just going back to Waterford, like obviously it's probably Beck Carton in a lot of people's opinion, probably the best player in the country, like the last two or three years, but one of the best anyway. Like and she's she's integrated integral to that Waterford team, not just her scoring, but like her playmaking abilities, like you know, and when she clicks like the Waterford forward to click a lot more, does you think? And if she can be kept quite like going forward, Waterford could be a bit of trouble, like maybe they need a bit more than as well from others as well, just in general, like yeah. I think if you look at Beth, she's a Fabrice player and you know, I suppose on the outside, you see that the scale and what she can do, and it's always internally having you know played alongside her uh as well, just knowing the standards and and the way in which she's kind of a real example to all of the players around her. So you know, I think in the past it would have been you know huge reliance on that, but I think now, you know, if you look around, you know, the there's a lot of trends, a lot more strength adapt the inner and the forward line there. And you know, if we look at the the likes of the inside line, certainly the last thing you've rocket on each turtles and obviously you know they're you know on their day, they can really be matched within performers. So, you know, I think over the last couple of years, there's certainly been that that ability of the the the other forwards in the team, and I think even further back as well, you know, the Rainbray or the Hickey are are really strong in the middle of the field as well, and they can really come forward. So, you know, I think Wadsbeth is is obviously a fantastic player and a key player to the Waterford team. I think you know, being able to get that unifiering is going to be really you know vital for them to be able to succeed over the summer. Yeah. And then look, look ahead now to put out uh Saturday's game and Kenny Park and Attenory and look repeat of the last two all-areland finals like again. And oh, this should be another great game between Carway and Cork. And look, Sarah, from the Cork perspective Oh, go to Susan first. Go on to Susan first. She's it's yeah, go to Susan first. All right, then for going like obviously, look, they won the league this year, and they've been maybe slow start in the league, but once they got going and got players back, maybe not they came good and looked end up winning the league, beating them all for the final by a couple of points, finished strongly in the league. And like haven't we played since the league final, which is back in April, like you know, so the long gap not to be playing a competitive game, but same with court like definitely since the most championship. It could work either one or two ways. Well, look, you've lost that competitive edge, and you might take a while to get up to championship pace, but you also have that chance, you know, go away and just on your own, like away from every defend, maybe not on the coach yet, and you can just intensely build up for the championship and be ready. So, where where do you what do you think now of Galway going into the all-relevant championship now? Yeah, look, I think one of the good things for Golway was yeah, it feels like ages since they were out competitively, but our under 23 is going quite well up until the semi-finals, so they would have passed them there, you know, for training matches and things. So they I can imagine how fiery and fighty those games were, you know, in-house games. Look, as far as I know, I don't hear of any mad injury worries. Like I was just looking at the name, writing out the names earlier. Like, we definitely have probably the best fullback in the country, or Rachel Hannity, Rochine Black, Derby Higgins, you know, and I think we've found we've acted we've found a number six that is, you know, suit and go as game and Kira Hickey. I think she's a really good find for us. She's fast and she's able to deliver goal. Um and uh yeah, I've really, really well impressed with her in the league final for such a young player. She really had a really, really experienced head mark. And of course, then you have like Carrie Dolan, who you could nearly put your house on it, that you'd put it over the bar, and If itunhu, who never stops go and tirelessly works. But you know, in the league they did experiments as well with Dylan and Eve McPeak up front, and you know, they didn't have Aylish Riley there. Anya cane didn't feature, so they do have people there I think we might expect to see back. And there's a young Kelly girl, um, I was so impressed with her when she came on as a sub in the league final as well. Like this talent comes, you know. Oh, we got to the under 2023 semis, we got to the under the under 18 final, got to the under-16 final. There is talent coming still. Like with Cork, I think Cork's going to be very disappointed. They didn't get to a league final. You know, they were probably very disappointed, like, oh, we beat them. You know, they've been kind of playing each other in all these tough battles in the last few years. So they are going to come, you know, like Circa McCartney there. She's flying it since, you know, her establishment on the team a couple of years ago. But I suppose Laura Tracy been missing, you know, the big retirement, you know, who's going to fill the gap, who's going to be the leader back there. They're going to be tested down the centre for sure. But um, it's it's funny, isn't it, how quiet that all these teams are are being in preparation for these matches. We don't hear much. And look, obviously, Sarah, look at Cork, because they've lost the set retirements like and like no Laura Tracy, Ifahili, Hannah Looney, or K Wall this year, anyway. And look, Ashley Thompson has been injured, that's what for the year. We don't know. I don't know, maybe uniform, but I don't know. I haven't heard anything anyway, that it should be available now for championship. But like I suppose the guy probably has suited Cork though more, like, because they've been everything just quite like enough. They'd be coming in, nobody'd be expecting them, and now they'd be ready and perhaps to go, like, you know. And it's his Cork, like, so you thought they're not going to be bad. And look, they had a very impressed in the United 23 championship, like the semi-final and final, like they won really easy against Tipperary, then Kikinney, like, and there were some really good performances on that under 23 team. So there's a got a good junk talent there as well in the county as well. So Yeah, I I think that was the only bright point from the last uh six or eight weeks. I was in Semple for the Munster final, and before that game, I had been on with you and I couldn't see Tip beating Cork. And boy was I wrong. Cork were so poor, Tip were so organized, Twin Towers inside in the Tipperary full forward line, they were so good. The sweeper system that Tip operated that day, just in terms of having that player back moving forward, Cork couldn't cope with it. By all accounts, not a happy camp in Cork after they lost that Munster final. And I suppose we've had league games and league semifinals and finals since from our own point of view. I saw Amy Lee playing for an appearance a couple of weeks ago in a league semi-final against ourselves, or leave quarterfinal was it? Izzy O'Regan from my club was obviously playing for us that day. Amy looked very sharp. Izzy looked very sharp. But you know, collectively as a team, I don't think they have an identity the way that Tip has an identity this year. Waterford, Galway, and that's where I think this team is a real unknown in terms of actioning. Thompson, my understanding is she had an operation on her elbow. I I don't know if we'll see her this summer, just with the length of the season replacing her. Impossible. Just in in terms of bringing new players in, even from an under-23 perspective, her experience is untold. Um the likes of Hannah Looney, not replaceable. She's just a different kind of player who who kind of plays off the cuff and she sees gaps that no other player sees. So again, hard to replace. Orla Calan is the bright point in the Munster final at Jersey, and I don't know if you'll agree. Kind of she was the only kind of option for Cork that was working out. Sergeant McCartney wasn't getting any um leeway. And I thought Sergeant McCarthy looked very off form. So that's a massive reliance being placed on one forward when you're going up against, as Susan said, the best fullback in the country, uh fullback line in the country. So I'd be very pessimistic for Cork's chances this weekend. And again, no sign of the Mackeys coming back either. Their retirements have seemed to have gone in the way of Breed Corkery. Is she retired or she not? Breedge could appear this week, or the Mackeys could appear, who knows? But that's that's how little we know about Cork. I actually be I'd be very pessimistic about all our chances after Susan's introduction to Galway because I usually think of the Carrie Dolans and Eva Dunnews. And when she started off with the full back then, I was like, oh my god, I forgot how good their backs are as well, you know, because in fairness is often the forwards that get the limelight, but Galway's backs are awesome. And um, yeah, I think we could all be just playing second fiddle to Galway again if they click this year. And it is, you you haven't done a double, Susan, as uh to memory with with this really good team. You know, they've kind of they've done single all Irelands, but but haven't done a double, and maybe you know that's a massive motivation for this group. What is it 2012 since Wexford did it? That would be the sorry, that's the sorry, Cork did it obviously the double, but Wexford did the triple in 2012, but certainly Galway haven't done a double with this team. And like I'm just thinking of players that were in the previous year, like you had Shauna Healy and Neatley Kenny, and they're not featuring this year as well, like you know, so they're doing very well to kind of fill the gaps there. I did feel in the league final we kind of found it hard to get it to stick in the full four line, but hopefully it'll start clicking better. Hopefully they'll have a team settled for for for the weekend, you know. Like this I've no I have no worries about the delivery of the ball into them. It's just you know what they need it to stick, they need they need to be getting scores off all their possessions. So I I actually looking forward to seeing what way he lines out and looking forward to seeing who he has in up top. I do think Ailish Riley, I'm very friendly with Ailish, and I do think she was beworking very hard to get back in there. So hopefully she'll get her place back in there, and sure she's a huge thread up front as well. So look, it'll be interesting, like Cork, like they have to be hungry, they have to be disappointed. And I would just fear, yeah, like will Galway go in a little bit, you know. Oh, you just worry, will they come in go in a little bit lackluster? But hopefully not. Hopefully, hopefully it'll be a cracker of a game, and hopefully we'll come out with a win. Yeah, look, I suppose just from Cork's point of view, if only five or six players are hungry, that's not going to be you know enough to beat a team like Galway. And uh it just felt like in the Munster final, there were so many players that were out of position, they were trying to figure things out, you know, some very young players thrust into that kind of environment. You know, is it a marriage of the old and the new? And does it take a couple of years to bed in? And you know, Waterford have found that, Tip have found that you do need a couple of years playing at this level to be able to bring in those younger players to get up to speed, you know. So it could be a quiet year for Cork, but that's look, let's we've you know, we've been around the around Croke Park, you know, for so many years, you know, looking even Kilkenny, the way they've taken a step back for a couple of years, these things happen to really good teams and there's a rebuilding phase, and this might be Cork's year where they're quieter than other years, you know. So Park have won another anyway. That's that's essentially what I'm not saying. But but I do I I do I do you know reflect on the fact that Kilkenny had a couple of you know, a couple of barren years, we'll say the last couple of years, and and you know, it it does come to every team, unfortunately. It when you when you've got so many players at that high level, at that high standard, you know, an outflux of players from Cork, what is it, eight players that we named there? Hard to replace those eight in terms of quality. The only thing I'd say about Cork, 100%, they're they're missing massive names. I it's not that easy to replace them. But like this time last year, they were absolutely flying in the league. They are flying in the championship. I thought there was no one going to stop them. And you know, I know only small things, well, they could have won an all-irn, but maybe it's a deliberate tactic not to be flying so early. Certainly, there was a bit of worrying signs when Antrim bet him in the league to give up, I don't know, was it eight or ten-point lead against us in the league? And we came back and drew. There were worrying signs. I thought maybe uh, you know, we'll see the old Cork in the Monster Final or in the Monster Championship the first round, and we we certainly didn't, but again, there's huge names missing. Some of them will be like Amy O'Connor didn't talk out against Tip that day, or Ashley Thompson. If if Amy was even back, that would be a huge addition, and I imagine she will be. But and you'd I was saying, oh, maybe Cork, yeah, going through transition won't be as strong this year. But then you see they're under 23s, and I said it to you, Joe, in the last bot. Like, if the if the Cork under 23 team were going out against any of the in the senior championship, you give them a great chance. You know, I I I wouldn't you wouldn't be guaranteed Tip would beat that Cork under 23 team. So I certainly wouldn't be writing any Cork obituary yet, and we'll know more, I suppose, after Sunday, if things don't go their way or Saturday, if things don't go their way against Galway and they don't look themselves, and if Tip were lucky enough to beat Waterford, then Tip will be out for blood the following week, and and maybe their their year won't go as well as as as obviously we're used to Cork, but I certainly I I it's intriguing to see what what I think we know what we're going to see with Galway, but it's certainly intriguing to see what Cork turn up at the weekend. Yeah, and I suppose just on that, I really enjoyed the Camogie documentary in November. And I I think it kind of gave me a much better understanding of the setup in Waterford, the setup in Tip, set up in Galway even and it probably made me very excited for this year because you're doing so much right. Do you know what I mean? I'd love to see a changing of the guard, if I'm being honest. And if that is at the if that is at this stage where where Cork aren't at it, but a team like Tip for Waterford makes a breakthrough, you know, for the game, that'd be huge. But uh but it that's not a false dawn or anything like that. I think you've put in massive, massive work. And I really enjoyed that documentary on the basis of of how much information was gleaned from it in terms of all the things that uh these top-level teams are doing well. You know, it it it certainly had gone under the radar, and I think a lot of people's eyes were opened to how much work is being done in Tip, Waterford, Galway at that stage. Just actually on going into the challenge, like you mentioned a lot of players for each team the key, but I probably mentioned the goalkeepers like and the goalkeepers at this day in this day and age, anyway, are key for most teams, like not just with the shots at the minute, but also with the how the put cow goes and all that. And look, all four teams like have top quality keepers, anyways. Like obviously Cork with Amy D, Ferry Heedy. We all know what she's capable of. Laura Lynn and goes for temporary, and like I thought in the runtime she pulled off two top quality safes to deny Waterford, like you know, and other than that, like Waterford probably could have got the win then. And then Waterford looked to have two top quality keepers, like Imbriano O'Regan and Noelle Murphy. So, you know, in terms of that, they could be they could they'll all have key parts to play as well in the championship going forward. I guess Sarah, you're the ex-fockey before you can talk talk of this subject game a bit better. Who's Susan? Sarah. Sarah, sorry. Sarah, sorry. Well, look, uh as well starting my own, uh Sarah Healy, I suppose. She kind of came in after I I departed, and she's very well established in there now. And uh, like everyone knows, like her book out is huge for the team. She's getting great distance, she's a great ball stopper. She has a great defence in front of her, like they don't conceal a lot of goals. Um I suppose just to keep her concentration and uh yeah, and it's good delivery of the ball. And I suppose, you know, sometimes Galway can go long a bit too often, so just to be prepared to go short. Yeah. I do worry, I always kind of worried about Tipperary and the goalie situation. I just felt like they never it they they seem to be chopping and changing the goalie an awful lot. You know, there was the all-star, what was it, on your flattery there one year. And you know, like I I I I hope that they find someone that they can settle in there and just establish. And I'm delighted to hear that the is it Laura had pulled off some great saves in the last game. And I think Brianna is a super, super ball stopper as well. I actually really enjoy watching her. She's a bit like myself flinging herself around the place. And um, who else am I missing? Amy. Amy Amy's gas. She we would have went uh head to head for puck bottles and things like so. She's very versatile as well. And she's got distance and she's uh she's uh got short puckouts and uh she's always there as well. You know, she's versatile, she comes out to collect the ball, went back through under pressure. So look, she's settled into her role very well since Ephemerie has has departed as well. So yeah, I know for four very, very, very good goalies. Don't ask me to pick who I think is the best one. Okay, well, not for now anyway. Maybe later on, give me a chance to think about it. But like looking forward to the championship as a whole, like for the four counties, like obviously you don't want to get off to win a start at the beginning. And we went to already losing, obviously, and the end of the world, but obviously you do want to win, like, and you want to get a semi-final place. Look, it that just makes it a lot easier. Like, you have less games there to win, plus you don't meet a team coming out of the other group who would be have a lot of momentum behind them. But like looking at the championship of the whole, like obviously Galway probably favorites, but I there's not that there won't be very much between them and the four teams. Like any games usually play, there's not really that much in it, like so you know, and so every game should be close and uh and tight and very good games to look forward to. But like so, who so get your opinions on maybe who will finish top the top two at this stage? Or do you just get I think you have what you're what you're thinking, like who's going to finish in the top two and get to the semi-final stage? I think you're gonna be first. Yeah, let's finish it. Let's try go first and then yeah. I think it's it's gonna be very, very difficult to call. I think you know, you'd have to take all the way look to be in pole position after the league, you know, and deliver a very good performance in that final, obviously, on our end champions as well. I think after that, I I I really think it's very difficult to call. I think, you know, there's there's on any given day those, you know, those three three sides called obviously huge experience for the last couple of years in a period where they've got new players coming through. Um and I think you know that that always brings opportunity. And I'm sure they'll be very excited to to kind of show what what they're about as well. And then to move on if they're very tight. I'll be honest, I'm probably I think it's very hard to call. I think if I have to be honest, I'll probably sit on the fence and I'm going first here. But I I I think, you know, another thing probably which is really exciting for some in some respects, it would the hope that, you know, we can get some big crowds out for these games as well. Um, a couple of them have their hurting teams are out now as well. You know, and I think even though despite the fact these teams are in a semifinal or in a quarter final, I think there's a you know, there's a real excitement about these teams going against each other, very similar, obviously, to the other other side of the group as well. So I think it's very difficult to call who's gonna be in the top two, being honest. I think this weekend will be will be really interesting um in terms of of where people would sit. I think, you know, they're gonna look at the other group now and think those teams are gonna come through really battle hardened after five games where every week you're you're basically fighting for your championship survival and whoever comes out of that group. And I think the teams in the top, this in the top four who who can fight for the semi-final that really want to go after it. So, you know, as I said, I think it's very difficult to call some of these games. I think predicting who the top two will be is very difficult at this point. So I'm not committing penny. That's fair enough. I don't know. What's your opinion? What do you think? I'm gonna let Susan go first. Yeah. And then Territy, and I'll go last. She's afraid, is she? Um I hope I'm not wrong. I think Goldwell will come out on top, and I think Cork are going through such a transition at the minute. I don't see them coming second place. And Waterford and Tipperary, I'm gonna give it to Tipperary. I think Tipperary will come second. I just think that they're shooting well, defending well. I think they're just going well overall. And like Waterford, like obviously they have a lot of talent around the field, but I think Tipperary might just have it on them. But Germany, do you agree with that one or do you have a different opinion of your one? But I try and think what will if James Heffnon is watching this, will he want me to say tip to confidence, or would he want me not to say tipped and not be giving other people motivation? I'm trying to think which will be best for my county. But 100% I think allway are favourites, and I think they will definitely finish in the top two. Like I would always have Cork ahead of Tip because from years of playing against Cork and years of supporting Tip, I have a lot of scars that burn deep from defeats against Cork. So I think any day Cork well played Tip, Corkfield are good enough to beat Tip and they have been like we haven't beaten Cork in championship. It was oh could be five years ago when Cork had already qualified out of the group and we couldn't qualify a group and we bet him in the last group game. But we haven't beaten Cork in a big game. Well, the Munster Championship this year, but we haven't beaten him in all Iron Series. So you know I'd love if if if if we were to believe Sarah and Cork are in transition and maybe aren't going as well and Gobby beat them at the weekend, and if Tip were to beat Waterford, I would give Tip a great chance of finishing second. But that's a lot of ifs. If I think whoever wins between between Tip and Waterford have a great chance of finishing second if Gobby beat Cork, if you know what I mean. And I just think they're 50-50 games. I really think Tip and Waterford's a 50-50 game. I'd love to see Tip win it. And the thing is, when if you win, it's great that the next match is only a week apart, especially if you're playing a team that's got bet. But if you lose to try and pick it up, you'll go back to training Tuesday to try and turn it around, and you know, if things went disastrously wrong and you're trying to change a whole game plan, or your cornerback who you thought was a shoe-win suddenly got cleaned out, and you have to try and find a new cornerback in the space of three or four days, it can be very unsettling. And I think that's why I think winning the first match is going to be so crucial for Waterford and Tip, who haven't the same experience of of you know you know, being one of the top two teams like Galway and Cork are. So where am I going with this? I suppose if I was a betting person, my money would always be on Galway and Cork. I still think they're the standard bears, they're the top two teams. You take their under 23s, minors, they're always the top two teams in the country. But I I I'm I have a good feeling about Tip this year. They're going well, they've Silverware won already, and um, you know, I'll have everything crossed on Sunday that they can beat Waterford, and I I would give them a great chance of finishing second. But I think if they were to beat Waterford and put in two good performances in the other two group games, they'll be happy, happy, you know, going to a quarter final with one win under their belt as well. So it wouldn't certainly be the end of the world. But um, yeah. I still I'll go with Galway and Cork. Keep the pressure off Tip. That's the right. You have you have to go on out. Right. Okay, so the format a couple of years ago, uh, Jardine and Girls, you might remember the quarter final ended up with Tip in the quarterfinal against Antrim, and Tip gave Antrim an awful trimming, and Coit Devan got an outrageous goal up in Croke Park. Am I right, Jardine? Outrageous goal from nothing, yeah. And it really didn't set Tip up for the semi-final and what was to come because Antrim were obviously just not at the races. So the good thing about the format this year is if you do end up in in a quarter final, you are going to meet a team that is battle-hardened, as as you said already. Um I was really impressed with Queevas Daylem in the Munster game against Cork. I thought she was very busy. I'm right in saying she played corner forward that day, aren't I? She's really tall. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I I thought she was very, very good that day. I I think that's a let off for Waterford not having her in the full forward line. Um from Waterford's point of view, that league final decision to play Lorraine Bray to Mark Neve Mallon out of the game was a little unusual because they need Lorraine going forward. I think the games that Waterford have played have kind of the mistakes they've made, I'd be hoping that they've learned from those mistakes and that they'll try and use other players to better effect to to nullify the the the big tip players rather than sacrifices kind of your attacking midfielders, things like that to to nullify the likes of a Neve Mallon. But I for some reason I'm I'm saying Waterford to beat Tip at the weekend, right? I I just think there's there's definitely a a game in them. They've lost a league final, they've lost a Munster final. I think there has to be a hurt there that is going to, you know, propel them, you know, to vic to victory at the weekend on that basis. You know, I I still think Cork have so much to do. Galway first tip two Cork three and Waterford four, right? I know that doesn't sound right, but I I think Waterford could catch Tip and then Tip will bounce from there. So that's where I'm going with it. That'd be a fair bounce now. Wouldn't it? I know it would, but but uh my my feeling is that Waterford are they you have to be hurting after losing a league final and a monster final playing you know playing a good playing to a good level. There has to be there has to be something coming from that Waterford team. They're they're too good to to lose three big games on the trot, is is my opinion. I know their hurlers did, you know, but you know, Jesus Lightning can't strike twice, can it? Like that's that would seem fierce unfair for a team who's put in so much. I'm gonna go away, go away and tap to finish top two anyway. I just think but go away. We know who go we are. Go away or go away. But I just think Kip have the foreign team coming in. They'll be full of confidence coming in after winning the Munster Championship. Three beating like Cork Amor along the way in it. Like and they were impressed. They looked impressive. And they've been getting better for the year as the year has gone on, as far as I can see. So I'm going to go with Kip's finish second anyway. But like just looking at it, like obviously squad depth and whichever team has the biggest squad could play a massive part in it because like with the game so close between and all that, you know, it could pick up an injury first. And players out then, you know, and you don't have to go into the your subs and all that. And that could be a key going into the championship as well, like you know, who has the strongest squad like coming up to come on there. And it's very unlikely that maybe you might see the same 15 week on week from every team, like you know, because as I said, the game so tossed and all that. I suppose yes, Susan Galway probably have the best bench, don't they? Uh they've yeah, they do, they have a good strong bench, like, but like isn't it tough? Like, you know, in in the older formats, you know, the teams would have been able to, you know, like they were playing the the weak curves. I was using this barely careful with my words, but you know, like they would have you had been able to try out people and try people in different positions, but now when they're going out, you know, go with car water to break their four class teams, like they're going to have to go out with their strongest teams every time, aren't they? Like Gawa do have a like a couple there that could spring off the bench. But yeah, it's gonna be like I hope the injuries, like I hope we don't get any mad injuries from it. You know, it's it's gonna be four three intense games, like each team has three intense games. And it's very hard to keep a whole panel of morale going as well if you're keeping the top 15 playing all your matches as well. So I wouldn't like to be a manager of any of those teams trying to keep women happy. Yeah, and I think a lot of the times well, like what you mentioned there about who you're playing. I mean, like Tip could have their 15 and in positions for for such a match, but they still have to think who's Markine Food Dunn and who's Markine Mallon when they were playing Galway. I don't think you know, I think they have to be flexible, and I think they will be. I think we've seen Karine Blair can play, you know, wing back, midfield, she can go back in full cornerback and do a man marking job as well. Um, we've seen Cankendi at six, uh, midfield up in the forwards. And I just think you know, whatever team tip line out against Waterford, they might be the same 15, but they mightn't be in the same positions the next day. But um, and we we've seen Tip as well this year. They have, you know, I don't know, uh I say a lot is done on the GPS, they have taken off players that you might have said, geez, I thought they were playing well, but I'd say they just you know ran themselves into the ground or the GPS was blown up. So certainly James has you know has bought on three or four subs in every game, and and I think he he was he'll still stick to that, even though there are three massive games, but there seems to be uh I suppose good faith in in the in the panel. And when players are coming on and getting and are used to coming on, it doesn't really upset the team too much, you know, bringing in fret, but you'll still be like like Susan says, you'll still be putting out your strongest 15 every day you go out. Yeah, I suppose the the ish like last year, really unlucky to lose Karine, you know, so early in that All-Ireland semi-final in Nolan Park. To lose her that way that day just really took it took the sting out of it for you to do 13. And then you were kind of under massive pressure. I know that Maurian Evan was sitting back very deep that day, kind of, and and I was doing commentary for it on the radio, and my sense was like, you know, the game's come you're losing the game here, lads. You're gonna have to start pushing up, attacking, you know, attacking the team rather than then sitting back. But there was seemed to be a nervousness to try and stay in the game for as long as you could. So I suppose for James, he gets to look back at last year's semi-final and see how close you were and tinker, which might be the difference this year in terms of in terms of learnings and and beating those top teams because you are you're avoiding having to play teams and beat them by you know three, four, five, six goals, which is what was happening in the last couple of years. You're getting to the nub of it, aren't you? You're playing the top teams week on week for three weeks and and you can learn very quickly where the gaps are. That's a yeah. Like I remember we were beaten by Cork in the rag last year in the group stages, and I said it to someone after us, I said, the worrying thing is here is that we'll still be in a quarter final. Chances are we'll get over a quarter final and then we're going to get to a semi-final. And I I we weren't good enough last year to be Colby in the semi-final, and you could tell that early in the year, you know, with that beating we got off Cork. We just weren't, you know, we weren't looking we were missing Eva McGrath, a massive player. She was our top scorer from the year before, and we didn't score enough the year before, and now we're down at a top score. So we that that beating against Cork, we were able to turn around and get back to a quarter final because we were able to beat Limerick Clare. I think we went down to Wexford, hammered him, and everything seemed rosy again. But we met Ki Kenny in a quarter final, and looking back on that, you know, we had a bit of luck that day. Ki Kenny had the ball in the back of the net when the whistle was blown for a penalty, which we saved, went down the other end. Claude McIntyre got a great goal. And look, there was there were patches there. We were brilliant against Kenny at times, but just consistently weren't good all year, just not consistent enough all year. And you know, you you have to be on your A game playing against Galway in all Iron semi-final, and we certainly weren't, and then obviously with the injuries and things like that, but just never got going in that semi-final. But you know, probably going into the championship a bit different this year and a bit more form thanks to the Munster Championship, you know, because last year we got over Limerick, I think, but weren't great, and then lost to Waterford in the semi-final. So again, didn't have the didn't really have good momentum going into the championship. And we definitely definitely have better going in this year, but you know, I'm sure Waterford have put in a couple of good weeks of training and they'll feel, you know, they have their momentum now going into this game and at home as well. So I just think that's a massive game for both, both Tip and Water. I know I keep saying it, but you know, it really is a massive game for them. And to see, I suppose, to see what part they play in this championship. Are they going to be contenders this year in the championship? Because I think a lot of people would love to see Tip doing well, and there's sometimes a lot of positivity about Tip, but I think like like Sarah said, that's more people are mad to see a new team break through, whether it's Tip or Warford, whoever it is. I think it Camoge needs an another team to win in All Ireland. You know, it's been it's a long, long time since someone outside of Galway Cork or or or anyone in All Ireland was back since Wexford, I suppose, wasn't it so look, people are mad for you know, there was great hype when Warford got to the final, and I think people are mad for a different team to win it, and sometimes that might sugarcoat over things that you know maybe there still is that gap there, and you know, I haven't seen enough on tip yet to say that they can bridge that gap this year, but fingers crossed from a tip point of view they can. Yeah, and as you said there, like, and I think Sarah mentioned earlier on about it has it's been a long time since anyone other than Cork to Kinney or Gama won in all island, like as you said, Westford in 2001. So from that perspective, uh it would be great to see someone else maybe come through and win an All-Inland, like maybe Tipperary Walford or even maybe someone from the other group, like Claire, like I'm impressed by Claire this year. So in terms of it good for Kobe as a whole, really, to have a different winner as well. You did you think? Yeah, I think um it it in terms of the game and the growth of the game, and you know, for the people who might only tune in once a year or you know, to watch a movie as well, you know, there's there's a certain trend and a pattern that I suppose you know as as being uh someone who was in a country who was previously in the junior and coming through intermediate and forgotten through this always to be at the top table. And you know, I think that there's really a lot of competition amongst all the teams that are there, which is great to see you know it would be it would be nice to see obviously a different winner. I'd love to I'd love for it to be one for the course. But I think for the growth of the game, and I think for you know showing that the health of the game, I think it's it's really important that we have as many teams as possible at the top table competing. And you know, I think that's that's really key, respectful uh, you know, it would be lovely obviously to see a bit of variety in terms of who's winning. But I think what's what's really key is that we have a competitive championship with competitive games right down to the very end. And that we're getting lots of people, you know, watching, getting along to the games as well, which is which is really key. And like I'll I'll get your I'll just get fiction from me for the four or two game at the weekend. And I'll be forward if we can get a picture for co start with the Galway Cork game, getting prediction for that game. Start with you, Trish. You know, I think uh I I think it'll it'll be a big task for Cork going in against Galway, but you know, they'll they'll kind of see it as a shot of of seeing where they're at, I think, as well. But I think based on the form that we've seen thus far this year, I think it's it's very hard to look beyond Galway at this point. Erling, what get your prediction out? Yeah, look, it it's a long time since Galway have played, but I suppose they're used to that with when they having a provincial championship. And just look, you it would always be a 50-50 game in my mind, but just with Cork don't seem to have the form that they've had other years, and obviously they're they've been unlucky with injuries and and and players not available this year, so I'd go with Galway on that basis. Susan could tune my goals here at last. Let's go my lesson out of fact, when I'd have to move if I said Cork, but uh I yeah, look, I as long as I just hope that the break has it won't go against them and I hope there's no surprises. I I'm fairly confident Galway will win this on that game on Saturday. Galway to hammer the hammer and make sure that they're still top dog in Galway on Sunday. And then look, Sarah will start with you this time for the Tipperary Waterford game. But who do you think we'll come through in that one? Yeah, like I said, I I think Waterford there has to be a game in them, and I think it's this weekend. Um Sarah, get or sorry, get her prediction on this one. I'm gonna go I'm gonna go tipperary. I think I think there's more to come from that team. Charlie, get yours next. Yeah, I I again I think it's gonna be close. Like I thought the Monster Championship was going to be close and it was, but uh, I feel there's more in the Tip team. I don't know, I'm sure there's more in Waterford, but I just I don't know them well enough, but I definitely think there's more in Tip. So I think if they can get it out of them uh on Sunday, I I fancy Tip just to shade it. With your own county, you're gonna go against them now in this one. Yeah, I think I'll I'll um I'm gonna go Waterford. Maybe it's hard as much as head on that one, but it I mean one question did come into my mind as to you know, if it is a draw, does it go on score difference or head-to-head in the group as well? Because I think the the the results every week could differ. So what's the the stance on that? But look the way the group two is anyway, it seems to be scoring difference anyway, because off here ahead of Limerick, despite the fact that Limerick bet off here at the weekend, so that's I think it's scoring difference. It seems to be scoring difference. That's what I've been in the league as well. I think it used to be head to head, but I think it's gone to score and difference for this year anyway. Well and I just want to go through the rest of the fits here, just there quickly this weekend. Like in the intermediate championship round two, in group group one, it's Anchim take on Kerry, a half three, and down take on Derry also a half three. While in group two, Leash take on Meat, while West Meat take on Carlow, while in the Premier Junior Championship round two, Wicklow take on Tyrone, Calvin take on Armat and Khalier they have lost commons. While in senior championship group two on Saturday, in Parallel Park, it's Dublin versus Wexford. And look, it was a much must win game for both those teams, really. Like both and lost the first two games. So whoever loses that's probably out of the championship. While in U PNC Lord and Park, a half four, Kikini take on Offley, and like Kikini win that probably guaranteed the quarter final place really. And then in Ennis on Saturday or Saturday, we'd have Claire taking on Limerick. And that's well, look, in other big game, like in terms of if Claire win it, maybe they guaranteed maybe quite final as well. But Limerick will be going in that to be a bit confident after beating offly again. So if they have to win that as well, it keeps getting right back in it. So that's some interesting games there in that group, and it'll probably all be tight games again. Like, but you expect, I suppose, maybe Kikini and Clare to win their two games. And then look, Double and Exford could go either way, like you know, like Westford obviously won the Leicester final against Dublin. Dublin will be looking for revenge, especially after where the second half went. So just to get your quick opinion, maybe on them games going ahead going forward. I've seen something today where the I was on one of the socials where the someone mentioned comments about Wexford winning the Leinster final and the manager seemed frustrated. You know, you know, you didn't want to hear that anymore. And I suppose the two losses it's very hard, very disappointing for them after winning the Leicester final. And I just hope that they can regroup now, because you know, it's very hard. The first two games, it's very hard. You know, doubts start to creep in, you lose momentum. So if if if it's if Dublin had a chance, it's this match, I think. I think I think with Wexford kinda probably feeling a bit sorry for themselves. I think it's Dublin's chance now to s to swoop in and get a win in that game. Just actually on Claire though, now when the Bet Wexford again, the loss to Lord and McDonald in the first half to uh injury. Look, I don't know how serious it is, but she was lipping off with either her knee or her ankle. And look at she was to be listening, she'd be a massive loss to Claire. You know, I've been top scorer this year, and she was been very impressive so far, especially in the first round there. She scored uh I can't remember all, but she was very impressive in that game. And look at she was Claire to lose her, now that'd be a massive loss for them going forward. So just and I don't know how serious the injury is, but and they did struggle a bit after when she went off on Saturday. So obviously she would be a big loss. So yeah, she'd be a massive loss for Claire, but I I've been really impressed with Claire. You know, even last year in the in the was it the quarter final against Waterford. Checking Texas, yeah. Yeah, it was a serious game, and then this year they took Waterford extra time again in the Munster. So I think there's there's certainly green shoots there in Claire, and you know, there's obviously like there's great togetherness in a bond when you're winning as well. You just can't beat winning for everything for the feel-good factor, for the buzz that training and everything. So, you know, there's obviously, and that's something that obviously when you're not winning like Dublin and Wexford, you just can't. You can talk all about next game, next game, and and try and talk yourself into the championship. But like Claire in this championship, they're they're making great strides. So I'd fancy um Claire against Limerick, you know, even though again I know Joe, you've been impressed with Limerick, what you've seen with him this year, but I think definitely I fancy Claire over Limerick and and Kilkenny over Offley again, and then um you nearly go a draw or something for Dublin and Wexford is it's just it's a tricky one to call. But um, yeah, I just think sport is there's so much psychological in sport, and you know, just you know, obviously there has to be a bit of doubt with Wexford and Dublin now that things haven't got their way. And like you feel sorry for because you just know how much they put into it every year, all the training, all the hard winter slog in November, and if just things doesn't, you know, if the results don't go your way, you're just nearly counting down the time to the the championship marriage to be over and get your life back together because you know, at this stage it's very hard for them to probably to see them progressing out of the group. Well, it's the opposite for Claire, they are buzzing, they are on a crescer wave, you know, or or Kilkenny, like I I'm worried about Kilkenny, you know, they are they are going to be gunning for whoever they meet in a quarter final. They probably feel they probably feel they've got the heart, the the you know, that you know, that they're in this second group, you know, they probably feel hey we we should be at the top table with the double with the Tipperaries in Warford, certainly. You know, even even the doing the documentary last year, they were left out because it was based on the teams that got to the semi-final, and I was like, geez, there could be a documentary here, and Kilkenny could win in all Ireland, you know what I mean? It's just they might feel like there's a bit of like people are kind of forgetting about us, and and you know, I think they're going to be, they couldn't have serious say in this championship yet. But that's just uh, you know, group two, there's been some great games and and like the competitive games, but I just think Claire and uh Kilkenny have you know got their noses out in front now and and I think they see the quarterfinal spots. And the other thing about that is I suppose the social media around group two games in the last couple of weeks has been very good. Like Chloe Cash's goal the last day. I'm glad that made it to social media. I think the Kamoge Association have started well. But you could have more than three clips left. Do you know what I mean? You could have six, seven clips like from from the games. I think it's just about uh, you know, I suppose as far as that getting getting people to see the games. If they're watching the social media and the quality is high, you know, that's going to encourage people to go to the game. So I think the association probably has to put in a bit more effort to get more people to see the quality by by doing social media. And like Arthur, I don't know if you agree, but uh it seems to be the easiest way of getting people to see the quality is putting up the really good clips. You know, they're they're going to get the feedback. I suppose from a tip comogi point of view, do you find, Jardine, that when you put up clips of of the good stuff, you know, these are the starting points, the talking points. It does help, doesn't it? Oh, 100%. I suppose it it's it's it's uh maybe how people see it outside of the you know, you know you have your line of dedicated tip comoge followers, but if you want people outside of that kind of cohort to see it, um certainly clips and even having the games, the doubleheaders the Monster Championship has been massive for that as well. Um the promotion that went around with the doubleheaders was brilliant. But I think is Galway and Cork been broadcast on TV this weekend, did I hear? Oh, I'd be surprised, is it? No, I don't think so, but there's going to be I think there's two they might be showing two games on YouTube, but I'm not sure. Like I got an email from the Cork Association with the game that said they have to they didn't say which games were gonna be on YouTube, it said to be l announced later on their social. But from listening to the game, watching the game last weekend between Claire Maxford, they were saying that they might be showing two games next weekend, but they weren't sure which two games like so I'm not sure yet. You know, I know originally uh because there was a bit of delay letting us know what day we were playing or what day like their Saturday and we're Sunday. I thought it was something to do with broadcasting and the double header or something on TV. I could be wrong now, but it's all been revealed. No harm. I know that. I suppose I I remember last year, obviously the Cork and Galway game was such an epic, and uh the Monday morning, Joe Malloy's podcast, the Indo GA podcasts, off the ball, all talking about If it's performances, about Galway's performance, about the physicality in the game, the likes of Eddie Brennan, the likes of John Malan, these guys they sat down and watched the game for a game. It wasn't about gender. They just loved the game. So I I think when the quality's there, gender you know isn't seen. And and I think that's that's why we need to really focus on showing the quality. And if that's an investment piece by the Camoge Association over the next couple of months to get cameras to games and get the best clips out there and show the quality, then I think that's a you know a very good investment on on their part and it and it's a bit of work on their part, and there's a cost to it. But that's how you get players and players to the game, but you also get people to go to see the games. And uh that's what I'd be calling for over the next couple of weeks is for the new CEO to really push the push the narrative that we need to get more cameras to games to catch the quality. Yeah, and on that, like it's like as I said, I was at the Limerick Coffee game at the beginning, and like I was that was a very good game, like very highly entertained. There were some great scores from both sides, some great performances from individual players as well. But like there was nothing really there to show, like, and I said some great scores. And if they even had a highlight, you know, reads or something, you know, to show on YouTube or something, it would have been great, like because people would see that then and said, even like even some of the lower teams, you know, that they have quality there, like and said, great individual, like great heat in for Offley again, it was superb. She didn't score as much as she usually does, but the work she got through in the middle of the field like with hooking and blocking, and then from the limerick point of view, like there was some great performance as well. So if they even had a hot five ten minute highlight, you know, Reeves, just to show up some of the scores, like, yeah, it would be great. Like, and I'm getting it. So what you're saying is what you're saying is we need to get Buff Egan to be uh get Buffy and Geegan to the Kamoge matches and get him to fill him a few clips and uh then and then it'll kick off because his numbers are off the charts, lads. So if the Kamoge Association want to hire anyone, hire Buff and send him off to a couple of the matches in the next couple of weeks. There's a there's my thought for the day. Most kids go to a hurlomage and they know every single player on the field, but you know, like there's a couple of outstanding Kamogi players that people know, but like there's savage Kamogi players on each of these teams we're talking about tonight, and you know, just something they need to do something about profiling them, you know, bringing like that if it's if it's if you don't know who's scoring points, that it's that it's all over social media, if it's Rosh and Then here in down the middle of the field, you know, like I the yeah, I do think you're right. They do need to work on making names for people and you know, bringing them from, you know, bringing them to like a semi-professional, you know, status that we've been craving for for how long? Yeah, well, if you remember Beth's score in the first half of the league final, she'd what two players around her on the sideline, she steps inside the two of them and makes it makes this amazing score. And I haven't seen it since. But that you know, that TikTok should have gone viral. Like the the score was absolutely insane, but it was just it was a sound bite that that the Camogey Association haven't used to promote the championship, and that's that's why I think they fall down. Just like on the like one of the reasons I got the idea for doing this podcast, it came from I've met it with a couple people before, it came from a game in the Bravery Championship back in I think it was 2024. It was Boris Lee were playing Burgess Tahara, like and like Burgess Tahara won the game, I think, comfortable enough. But the call was for Boris Lee and that day was she was unbelievable. Like it was one of the best individual performances I've seen from anyone in a long time. And I got like I was thinking at the game, you know, if that had been like say Tony Kelly or uh Patrick Horgan or someone like that, or Joe Cannon had put in that kind of you'd have been hearing about it for ages, but there was nothing said about her performance on the day, like and it just was left going on the pity because like she was unbelievable, like in the game for shot. And yeah, you know, it'd be great to get more stuff like that when somebody does put in a performance like that, or when there's a great game, like you know, and not and then you don't hear anything about it, and it goes unnoticed then after maybe a day or two back, and it's a shame really thought it because it's like it's definitely improvement. Jesus, it's improved a lot. Like I'll never forget again. We got dressed in car parks outside Kusick Park, and you know, there was all mad things when we were playing, but like the standard has come up with playing, and the standard has come up with you know, teams to get everything that they want and everything that they need, and you know, that's definitely but I do think yeah, we just need to bring the players, the names of players, put them out there, you're getting young people's matches, even if it's getting them there for free, you know, to promote the match, promote the players. That's what it's all about, I think. And look, I think we'll leave it there for this week anyway. But just before we go, just a quick reminder to everyone that of our social media.
