SPEAKER_00That's true. And if Anthropics succeeds in pharmaceuticals, they'll have proven that AI can handle life and death decisions in heavily regulated environments. That's a much stronger validation of AI capabilities than just being good at writing code or answering questions.
SPEAKER_01Right. And it positions them completely differently for the next phase of AI development. Instead of competing on general intelligence, they're competing on trust, reliability, and regulatory approval. You know, those are much harder motes for competitors to cross.
SPEAKER_00But it also makes me wonder about the broader ecosystem. If the major AI labs are all moving towards industry-specific applications, what happens to the general-purpose AI tools that developers and consumers have come to rely on?
SPEAKER_01That's a really good question. Maybe we're heading toward a world where there are a few highly specialized AI systems for critical industries, and then a separate tier of more accessible but less capable eye for general use. Like that would be a very different landscape than what most people are expecting.
