Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Well, thank you for joining. Uh Spirit Stream 50, Nick Grimsman. Uh, I want to talk about joy tonight. I'm supposed to talk about the joy of the Lord. And, you know, a lot of people are looking for joy. You want joy, right? So you go to church, you ask God for joy, you go to conferences, you read books on how to receive joy, how to receive more of God. And really, guys, you have to realize that joy lives inside of you. Okay, joy lives inside of your body through the Holy Spirit that indwells a believer. So if you think that you lack joy, is that truth or lie? See, you're conditioned to live in your feelings by the world system, right? So living in the flesh is living in your feelings, pretty much. You just toss to and fro by your lusts, by ungodly desires, by idols, by soul ties with people, by pride, by greed, whatever it is, these feelings and these thought processes pull you back and forth, pull you back and forth. See? But you get in the spirit, you are born again, and now you can live in who God says you are. Amen. You can start living in the true nature that God has created you to be in Christ, Christ in us, the hope of glory. So before Christ, you have your human nature, your fallen nature, and then now you have a new nature, you have the born-again nature, and the whole process, like I talk about on Holy Ghost television, I talk about all my teachings, is growing from a baby Christian, from somebody that just walks in the flesh and is fleshly, that pays attention to the world, that worries about everything, that gossips, that gets angry easily, walks in rejection. You live in these different types of mindsets that you were programmed with by human nature, by your culture, by where you grew up, your family, all this stuff you get programmed. And then now you're born again. And so the whole job is to unprogram yourself, really. And it's God that's gonna do it, because he that began a good work in you shall complete it to the day of Christ Jesus. So God is working a work inside of you, and through your circumstances, he gets you to repent, change your mind, gets you to change your mind, get you to change how you think and you believe. So you could feel like you're stuck in a corner, right? You could feel like you're stuck in some corner and you can't get out. Maybe it's debt, maybe it's a disease that you've been diagnosed with, maybe it's some sort of sinful habit that you have a problem with, maybe it's a relationship issue, maybe your family rejected you, maybe you struggle with loneliness, maybe you struggle with uh unforgiveness or discouragement, or you, you know, whatever it is, you get put in these corners, right? It feels like a jail cell. I've been there, guys. So sometimes you feel like you're in these jail cells and these situations that seem impossible. But I'll tell you that I've been in many impossible situations, and what I did was I just remained faithful to the Lord, and I did my best to learn truth and to reject the lies. Remember, submit to God and resist the devil, and he flees from you. So whatever you're dealing with, you try to get truth around it. Okay? You try to get truth of whatever you're dealing with. Let's say you're in the hospital right now. Okay, the fact is that you've been diagnosed, you're going through something physical that's painful, or physical that's scary. Maybe you're you got a really bad diagnosis, or maybe your family member did. Okay, so you have this super bad situation, you're in this maximum security prison, spiritual prison, let's say you're laying in the hospital bed, but that's a fact. But the truth is in Christ you're free. In Christ, you're actually healed. You're whole in Christ. And just because you don't walk out your healing tomorrow or right after prayer, doesn't mean that God's not going to use this situation for your good to mold you. What I had to learn was that I died. See, I died to the world, I died to the realm of the flesh. You have to start learning you died, and your life is now hidden God in Christ Jesus. You've been crucified with Christ. So you're diagnosed with something, you go through something, you died. You died to this, you died to sickness, you died to sin, you died of to lack, you died to all this negative stuff at the cross. Jesus took the curse for you, right? So if Jesus took the curse for you, what is in your life that seems like a curse? Well, he took it for you. So you died to the curse, you died to all this stuff, and then you can start living in faith. And so even if you're stuck in the hospital and it feels like it's never gonna end, or you you feel like you're never gonna get out of the situation, you look towards the Lord Jesus Christ, you look towards the cross, and that's why communion is really important for you to take communion and to remember, to remind yourself of what Jesus did for you. You what happens is the enemy wants you to forget. He wants you to forget. And well, we're gonna we're gonna go to uh scripture and I'm gonna show you. Um one second. One second. Okay, so we're gonna go to 2 Peter. We're gonna go over to my uh screen share. Let's see if I can do this. Oh, wait. No, what am I doing? Am I doing this? Oh, yeah, I'm doing this. All right, guys. I'm just learning. All right, am I there? Okay, so we're going to Bible Hub, okay? So we're gonna go through Bible Hub and we're gonna read a scripture I really like because I think it's gonna help you a passage. Um, we want to read in context, of course, right? Always want to read in context. So let's start in 2 Peter verse 1. So this is who, guys? This is the Apostle Peter. Okay, now you're listening to Apostle Peter writing an epistle through the power of the Holy Ghost, through the revelation of God, as uh the spokesman for God in the New Testament, right? He's a dis one of the 12 disciples or apostles, right? And so he was writing out what we should believe and all this stuff uh through the power of the Spirit, through um through uh being anointed by the Holy Spirit. So he wrote this uh through the Holy Spirit. And what is he saying here? Okay, so he introduced himself. Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, to all those through the righteousness of God and Savior Jesus Christ have received a faith as precious as ours. All right, let's go down here to King James. Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ to them that have obtained. Okay, so that's you. You have obtained like precious faith. So you have what? You've received the precious faith, the same faith that what the apostles have. Okay, you obtained it. Why? How? As a gift, through what? The righteousness of God and our savior Jesus Christ. So you received the like precious faith that Peter and Paul and Timothy and uh James and all these people of old have. You've obtained it through the righteousness of God and our Savior Jesus Christ. So through God, you received it. Okay, do you see how this is not you? Like God gave it to you, gifted you righteousness, gifted you forgiveness. So get off of yourself and go back to God choosing you, God loving you at the cross, God showing you his love through Jesus, God picking you and drawing you to salvation. See, you're too a lot of people are too much on themselves. You have to get back to what? Jesus Christ and crucified for you. But it wasn't that you went out and was a you were a good person, you earned salvation, you earned faith. No, it was given to you through Christ, through God's mercy. Okay, 2 Peter 1, 2. May God give you more and more grace. Amazing, huh? Grace and peace be multiplied to you through the knowledge of God and of our uh of our Jesus our Lord. Grace and peace be so what does he want to be multiplied to you? Grace and peace. So, God, sorry for the noise in the background. There's people out outside my uh my apartment where I'm doing this uh live stream. They're being very loud. I just bless them. All right, so so grace and peace be multiplied to you. So remember, God, through the Holy Spirit, through Peter, is saying, grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord. So God wants you to what? Increase in the knowledge of God and Jesus. He wants you to increase in the knowledge of the word. He wants you to grow in grace and peace and all this stuff. He wants you to grow. Okay, you're not supposed to just sit where you're at for the rest of your life. Many people go to church for 30, 40 years and they don't change that much. You have to engage with the word, engage with the presence of God, pray, study, show yourself approved, renew your mind, submit to God and resist the devil. Resist him in the faith. Disagree with the lies. Okay, you have to submit to God, amen. And resist the devil and agree with truth. All right, knowledge of God, Jesus our Lord. 2 Peter 1:3, his divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life. Okay, so what gives you the ability to live a godly life? His divine power that lives in you. So you struggle with unforgiveness, you need to disconnect from that and realize that you have forgiveness inside of you. You have the divine power of God. You need to start believing that you have the divine power of God that gives you the ability to live a godly life, to live a good life, to live in loving the brethren, to live in forgiving others. Amen. So we'll go down to King James and all people like that. So according to his divine power is given us unto all things that pertain unto life and godliness. Through what? The knowledge of who? God, through Jesus. For his divine power is granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness through the true knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and excellence. So he called you through his own glory and excellence, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. So it's not about you, it's about Jesus of Nazareth, the Messiah, choosing you, calling you. See, once you start getting off of yourself, then you then you stop empowering all these negative stuff going on in your human nature, in your soul and all that stuff, in your mind, your emotions. You get off of yourself. Like if you need deliverance from a habit that you know is wrong, you just surrender to the Lord, you submit to God, and you disagree that that habit is part of who you are in your divine nature. And then you just believe that God is giving you grace to let it go. And guess what happens? You'll start doing that habit less and less, or maybe you'll just wake up tomorrow. I woke up and all of a sudden I was free from it. Because I truly believe that God just gives me the grace to be free from stuff. You know, I remember uh uh uh a long while back, uh someone said uh, you know, I had uh um I had to go to the hospital for some stuff, uh, or for a little thing, not a big thing, but they gave me some painkillers. Okay, I was in a lot of pain. I remember uh somebody told me, oh, don't take painkillers, the medication painkillers that are prescribed to you, right? Because you'll get addicted to them. So they told me. And I was like, uh, well, that I mean, that could happen, right? You could take painkillers and be addicted to them. That that happens to people, it happens to Christians. And if that's you, this story's for you. And so I could have chose not to take painkillers, right, and uh deal with the pain in some other way, or I could have uh took the painkillers and overdosed on them or took too many or whatever, or I could just follow the doctor's orders, use wisdom, and rely on God's grace to get me through it. So I took them as prescribed for the short period of time, and I told the person, I'm not really receiving that. Even if I got addicted to painkillers, God would deliver me from it. I'm not worried about it, I'm not living in fear that I'm gonna be addicted to something for you know, a health thing I had to go through, right? Uh really bad pain. And so I didn't receive the fear, right? And so I'm not telling you to take painkillers or not take painkillers. That's between you and the Lord, right? So I'm not a doctor and I can't give you any advice. But for me, I know no matter what, if all of a sudden, oh my gosh, I took a painkiller and I'm addicted all of a sudden, I know that God would deliver me because he's delivered me from so many things. And it's all by surrendering to Jesus Christ and realizing that God lives in my body and he gives me grace. And through his grace, I overcome anything that comes my way, habits, addictions, or whatever. Okay? Does that make sense? So I'm trying to encourage you that it's God inside of you that delivers you, God working inside of you, and all you have to do is surrender to his truth, surrender to his grace and his love and his mercy for you. Okay? And you don't have to walk in fear anymore, being afraid of all this stuff that other people are afraid of. You can be free. Okay? And so, yeah, so I didn't get addicted to painkillers. But even if for some reason I started struggling with them, I could call in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and he would deliver me. Why? Because he loves me, he called me, just like Peter says right here. 2 Peter 1, 4. Hope that makes sense for you. I'm not trying to encourage anything or nothing. I'm just giving you my own personal testimony. Okay, everything with medication between you and the Lord. All right. Uh through these, he has given us his very great and precious promises. Okay. And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises, by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises. Whereby we are given, we are given what? Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises. By what? So that through them, through what? The promises. Okay, are you getting this? Through the promises, you may become partakers of the divine nature. By these you might be partakers of the divine nature. Having escaped the corruption, the decay that is in the world through lust, having escaped the corruption that is in the world on account of lust, okay, of longing, of sinful desires, English Standard Version says. Okay? So the promises are there so that you can what? Partake of the Holy Ghost. Partake of Christ in you, so that you can walk in joy, like I started this whole conversation out with you, so that you can walk in joy and love and peace through the promises of God. Amen. You can partake of the divine nature of God that lives inside of you if you are a born-again Christian. If you're not born again, give us a call. We'd love to pray for you. The Bible says if you confess Jesus as Lord and believe with your whole heart, then you shall be saved. That God raised him from the dead, you shall be saved. Then you need to get water baptized. If you're born again, you need to go get water baptized. Okay. Praise God. All right, so let's keep going. For for this very reason, okay, in view of all this, so I'm reading different translations. This is how I do this, guys. I try to read different translations. Sometimes I go to the Greek up here, uh, to the Greek up here, because I I want to get the context. I want you to kind of see. See how different translations, uh, how different translators translate it so you can see the context and you can dig deeper into the word than just reading one translation and then not understanding it. Right? So I'm just trying to do a little teaching to encourage you. This is kind of how I read uh and teach uh some of this. So, hey, hopefully you enjoy it. Praise God. In view of all this, for this reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue. Now, also for this very reason, having brought in all earnestness, supplement into your faith virtue, and beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, and to virtue knowledge. Okay, so let's look up what is virtue, goodness, a gracious act, virtue, uprightness, excellence. You can even say manliness in a way. Isn't that interesting? So, all these are here. So, strong 703, Greek strong. So let's look at that, moral excellence. Okay, valor, manliness, valor, excellence. Okay? So think of it like that. For this very reason, make every effort to add your faith goodness, or let's do this one. And besides this, giving all those to add your faith what? Moral excellence. Isn't that interesting? So you believe in Jesus Christ now, you're filled with the Holy Spirit, you've been born again, you've been baptized in water, you're now part of the church of Christ, right? You're part of God's church, you're part of the body of Christ. Now what? You need to add to your faith what? Moral excellence. That's what it says right here. From Apostle Peter through the Holy Spirit, you add to your faith moral excellence or valor or manliness or whatever, but it's moral excellence, basically, goodness, moral excellence. So be morally good. Have morals, basically, right? And to moral excellence, knowledge. Okay. Oh, it says right here in the uh NASB. Now, for this very reason, also, applying all diligence in your face, supply moral excellence, and in your moral excellence, knowledge. Okay, so you want to learn, and then to knowledge, self-control. So faith, moral excellence, knowledge, self-control, and into self-control, endurance. And into endurance, godliness. See how this all works together? So when you start learning how to endure, you have moral, you have faith, moral excellence, knowledge of the scripture, knowledge of Jesus Christ, knowledge of the word, moral excellence. All these things start going, perseverance. You start getting through things, and then that you add to that godliness. So it's kind of like a stepping stone. You can't have godliness unless you have moral excellence. In godliness, you need perseverance, you need to learn how to persevere, you need to learn how to be patient, patiently endure, all these things, and then godliness, and then what does it say? Into godliness, mutual affection, godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone, into brotherly kindness, love, and in your godliness, brotherly kindness, and in your brotherly kindness, love. These things are part of the divine nature of Christ in you. You are able to live a morally good life, to be a morally excellent person. It's something you learn. This isn't all of a sudden you get saved and you're this morally perfect person. You could have been a thief for the last 20 years, and now you're in jail and you get born again. You might not have the perfect character yet. You might still have temptations to do that type of stuff. But you want to add to your faith in Jesus through repentance, through changing your mind, moral excellence. To be a moral, moral person, basically. Pretty cool, huh? See how this works? Now, this is what I want to get to. So that's all in you already. You have to just start learning it. You have brotherly kindness, you're a kind person. When you meet a Christian that doesn't have mutual affection for brothers and sisters in the body of Christ, respect and moral excellence, you know, they're uh they they they treat people kind and all that stuff. Well, they're they're baby Christians. Okay, you'll know them by their fruit. So grow up. So maybe this is you, maybe you don't have brotherly kindness, maybe you don't love people, maybe you you're not really that godly, you're not living that godly. You know? Well, it's most likely you're still wearing your diapers, or you need to be born again. I don't know. It's between you and the Lord. Most likely, if you're watching this, it's probably you need to grow out of your diapers, you need to start fellowship with the Lord and surrendering, learning the truth, resisting the devil. Stop living in that old human nature that's depressed and discouraged and always negative and fearful, all that stuff. Perfect love drives it all fear. Mature, fully grown love drives it all fear. If you struggle with fear and anxiety, it's because you haven't been matured yet or perfected or fully grown yet in love. See, it's just a growth process and you're really hard on yourself. Don't be hard on yourself. God's not hard on you, God loves you. You're a child, you're his child. So you might be in one area you want to continue to grow. Don't get stagnant and listen to the devil, because the devil comes to kill, steal, and destroy. And he'll just keep lying to you. All right, here we go. 2 Peter 1:8. For if we possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being what? Ineffective and unproductive in what? Your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. The more you grow like this, see how he's talking about growth? The more you grow like this, the more productive and useful you will be in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. So I start growing in this. I'm not perfect, right? I still have areas where I'm growing. But you start becoming what? More useful in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. So you can start teaching others, you can start helping in your church, you can maybe become a pastor, associate pastor, you start your own ministry, all this stuff. By what? By growth. You're growing in the things of God, in the divine nature of Christ in you, the Holy Ghost. Okay, you have to understand this. You have a divine nature through Jesus Christ. You are born of the Spirit, you have the Holy Spirit, Holy Ghost, Holy Spirit. You have God's presence living in you all the time. Okay, start believing it. You're in the hospital, start believing you have the Holy Ghost. You're feeling discouraged, start believing you got the Holy Ghost, and He's a God of all encouragement and joy and love and peace. And he lives inside of you and start believing correctly and then disagreeing with those negative things, trying to pull you down. Okay, let's keep going. For whoever lacks these qualities, for whomever these things are not present, okay? So for the people that are these qualities are not present in their walk with Christ, okay? It says what? They're nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins. They are short-sighted or blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their old sins, from their former sins. Whoever lacks these traits is nearsighted to the point of blindness, having forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins. So if you if you don't have these qualities in your life, you're not growing, it's most likely that the cross, the gospel, you have not heard the gospel enough. You have not studied the gospel, you don't understand the gospel, or you forgot the gospel. So the answer is to go back to the simplicity of Christ. So maybe you have 50 books on your shelf about healing and deliverance, and you're still tormented. Maybe and you don't have these qualities that for uh 2 Peter talks about. And well, maybe you should just go back to the simplicity of Christ. That God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have everlasting life. And those that believe in me, though they die, they shall live. Those who believe in me will never be condemned. And start believing that God is that good that he sent Jesus of Nazareth for you to forgive all your sins for all time. By one sacrifice, he has perfected forever those who have been sanctified. So you are perfected spiritually forever because of the blood of Jesus, God's uh God's only begotten Son. And maybe you just need to re-look at the the cross, the gospel. Maybe you you learned a works-based gospel. Maybe you thought uh, you know, uh repenting from sin is how you're saved, but you're actually repenting towards God, which leads the goodness of God and encounter God lead you to repentance from everything else, change your mind. So you struggle with sin now, you don't, you're you're trying to be sinlessly perfect, and now you've just got addictions and frustrations because you can't be sinless all the time. Instead of embracing that Jesus was sinless for you, now Jesus lives in your body and he's transforming you to be that godly person with moral excellence and love and joy and peace. But you just learned the gospel wrong, and it then the gospel maybe you received or you've heard is all about you. You have to do everything. So you, you, you. You have to you know pray really hard, or you're not gonna get a breakthrough. You you get a breakthrough when you realize that God is everything and you died with him, you were buried with him in baptism, you're risen in newness of life. It's Christ that lives in you now. Like you start really resting in who you are. You start resting, you got the Holy Ghost, you have the anointing of God Almighty, you have the joy of the Lord forever. Your name is written in the Lamb's book of life. Like you can have peace now. You have peace with God through the Lord Jesus Christ, and it's by grace through faith you're saved, not by what? Behavior. And so you have to start learning. Faith produces behavior, guys. It's not the other way around. You don't behave and then you get faith, or you get favor of God. It's you believe and then things start changing. So start believing correctly, and it's okay if maybe you're watching this, you're like, wow, I don't really have those yet, you know, those those fruits yet. What 2 Peter's talking about. I don't really feel joy in my heart. I don't, I you know, I I have a I deal with a lot of fear and anxiety about health or whatever. Okay, just repent, change your mind, just start believing the truth. Jesus took all your disease on the cross, he took everything, he took death for you on the cross, he abolished death. Do you realize that? He abolished death. You're not gonna die. You don't go to the second death, you go to the judgment seat of Christ. You get rewarded for how you uh however it works, however the rewards work, how you loved or how you had faith or how you served God. I don't know. But then what? Then you get the new earth. Why? It was a gift. Righteousness, you were gifted righteousness, you're gifted eternal life. You have to start realizing these are all gifts. You don't earn this stuff. I used to think I earned everything, so what did I do? I fasted and prayed, I fasted and prayed, which is fine, but my motives were to get things, and it led me to not getting things, then it led me to being frustrated, becoming self-righteous, and getting mad at God and screaming at God and and uh wanting to go do bad things to rebel against God because I worked really hard and God owed me. God doesn't owe you anything, he doesn't owe you anything. We're in fact debtors to Christ. We're indebted to God. We owe him everything. You owe God everything. So what are you holding on to? What's your idols? What is your idols in your emotions, in your mind? What are you thinking about all the time? What are you trying to control? Trying to control your family, you're trying to control your spouse, you're trying to control people at work, you know, you're trying to control situations, your church. Like, let it go. Trust in the Lord Jesus Christ for everything. That is the way, guys. The way is to get in the back of the boat with the Lord Jesus Christ and relax, trusting that you have the divine power of God in you, and he is working a work in your cells, in your DNA. He's working a work inside your body, in your organs, in your brain. He's working a work inside of you. So you remember the promises of God. That's how we attain uh more of God's presence in our lives in those breakthroughs and all that stuff through the promises of God. Okay, so, but whoever lacks these traits, they're near sighted, they're uh unto blindness. Because what? They forgot that they were cleansed from the past. Okay, so dear brothers and sisters, work hard to prove that you really are among those God has called and chosen. Do these things and you will never fall away. You won't stumble. Therefore, brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble, you won't fall. Okay, if you practice these things, you will never stumble, stumble from the way. People stumble all the time. They stumble into sin, they stumble into cults, they stumble into different uh different stuff. They backslide, they they fall away, right? Doesn't mean they're not children of God. Still, if they're really born again, God will get them back. But why spend time backslidding? You know, if you're backslidden right now, what what's the point? You're just getting beat up by the devil. Come home, come back to the Lord, right? God hasn't forsaken you, you're choosing to get beat up. Like, why? I mean, I've been there, I understand, right? I've chosen to get beat up before, it's pointless. Move forward, mature, amen. Okay, so you have these fruits in you, you have the joy of the Lord inside of you. Okay, you have the joy of the Lord living inside your body, and you need to start believing it. And so, how so let's do practical because a lot of times I say stuff and then you know, or preachers say things, they don't give you practical. So, a practical way I would do this, or have done this, is when that feeling of discouragement comes on, or that feeling of negativity comes on, comes with a thought, then a feeling, right? You immediately don't condemn yourself. Because what the enemy wants to do is he always wants you to condemn yourself, he wants you to always think of all the negative, and he wants you to always beat yourself up, and he always wants you to feel like a sinner. He doesn't ever want you to feel godly, he doesn't ever want you to feel that you are righteous, he never wants you to feel that the love of God, he doesn't want you to walk with God, he wants you to feel bad all the time. So, what is he gonna do? Have people say bad stuff to you, have bad things happen to your life, uh, give you thoughts that you're no good, remind you of the trauma, remind you, you know, what your parents told you, how that person uh dumped you, whatever it is, there's a rejection in there. And then what happens is that it can link to idols, for example. So people have these idols built inside of them. So they long for things in life of the world, right? They long to be rich, they long to be famous, they long to have a spouse, they long for a new car, whatever it is, these idols build up, right? And some of that stuff isn't wrong in itself, it's where it's at in the soul of the individual. So the enemy uses all this stuff against you in your mind, in your emotions, and then you start blaming other people and all, but it's not, you know, I get I I get we get calls and I take calls on the 1-800 number sometimes. People call in, and you know, I get a lot of different people I talk to, and some people they're going around the mountain for years. They'll call, then like a year later, I'll talk to them again. I'll be like, oh, and they're still going around the mountain because they're blaming others. They're blaming others. Okay. Uh remember, we're not fighting against what? We're not fighting against people. People aren't your problem. People are not your problem. It's the mindsets of the individuals and how the enemy's using them as weaponry against you, like what they say, what they do to you, and stuff. And it's how you react is either getting you forward or keeping you stagnant. So if you're reacting in unforgiveness and you're reacting in hatred, well, you're just stuck. You need to repent, you need to change your mind, start believing the truth. Okay, you need to start believing that God loves you even if somebody rejects you. You need to start believing that God loves you even if nobody calls you on Christmas or whatever. You need to start believing that Jesus is with you all the time. It doesn't matter what your ex-boyfriend or girlfriend says, it doesn't matter what they post about you online, it doesn't matter if you lose your job. See, it doesn't matter if you're in the hospital and they give you a diagnosis. Jesus is with you. You have the divine nature of God in you. See, and then these things pull you into these different feelings. So you get the feeling of discouragement, or the and what you do is you catch it first. No uh, no condemnation for dealing with a temptation to go negative. Okay, so no condemnation if you get a lustful thought, no condemnation if you think dumb things or whatever, there's no condemnation. What you want to do is you want to make sure it doesn't get into the emotional area, because that's your soul, right? Your thought process and then your emotions. So your mind gets attacked by stuff all day long. People say stuff, your mind, but then it triggers emotional reactions. So if you can master that, then you overcome stuff. Okay. So you take that thought captive, like we talked about, I believe, on Spirit Stream 49. You take the thoughts captive, those emotions captive, and say, hold on a second. I'm thinking this way and I'm feeling this way, but that's not the fruit of the Holy Ghost. That's not godly, that's not moral to say that to a person. It's not uh kind to say that to my pastor or whatever it is. It's not kind to comment that on Facebook or TikTok or whatever. Okay, and you'll start you'll start catching this stuff and overcoming it. It's just it's kind of like a game. You'll start finding it as a game. It's like, oh, here's the thought again. Oh, there's the feeling from okay, yeah. Well, this time I'm just gonna say, not interested in going into anger, not interested in going into discouragement. Instead, I'm gonna choose encouragement. I'm gonna encourage myself that even though I feel like I'm in a prison or a dungeon right now, Joseph was in a prison or a dungeon, Paul was in a prison or dungeon, Peter was in a prison or dungeon, and God got them through it. God got them through it, he'll get me through it. So it's okay to just accept where you're at, but you want to have faith that it's not forever. But a lot of times we get put in a situation with feelings and emotions and finances and all stuff, we feel like it's forever. But God can change things in a second. 2016, I was live streaming around the world. Uh 2015, I was live streaming around the world on that old live streaming uh platform, Periscope, on Twitter as one of the first live streams on cell phones. You can go around the world on cell phones. And I, you know, maybe I was one of the first people to go around the world on a cell phone and live stream because it first came out. Anyway, I get back and I take a I take a live stream uh the next year, so the next summer I'm still live streaming. I end up live streaming a storm coming over and a lightning strike almost hit me live. You might you can Google it probably, still probably there. Um, and I almost got hit by lightning and it went viral. The video went viral. It was uh it's funny if you watch it. I think it might be on our website still, too, fathersfriends.org and YouTube probably. But I almost got uh killed by this lightning strike right on live streaming. Anyway, what people don't realize is that two weeks before that I was joking with the Lord, and I was like, Lord, how do you get uh somebody like me? Like I've been on Christian television, how do you get like somebody like me on like CNN or like Fox News or like the big the big media? Like, how's that even work? And I said, Oh, that's probably impossible, huh? That's what I said, joking around two weeks later, boom, I'm getting messages from CNN, NBC. I'm on World News Tonight for ABC. I got I got people doing like Netflix shows over in Europe that want to use it and just weird stuff. All of a sudden, I'm like worldwide for like three days with like this this you know, internet comes and goes, you know, with viral videos. But it showed me that God can do anything instantly. Right? Here I was just live streaming Storm, you know, I did not really know. All of a sudden, boom, I'm getting texts from people. I just saw you on the local news here. Oh my gosh, that was wild. So God can change your uh your life circumstances in a moment of a lightning strike. He can change your life instantly. You could be struggling with a blood condition, and you went and got tested for your blood today, and maybe you maybe tomorrow it's going to show up there's no condition anymore. God can just change things in a moment. So you need to continue to believe that God is for you and not against you. He's always for you and not against you. So the bad times, these prisons that you feel like you're in, try to encourage yourself and then work on your faith level and believing Christ lives in you and that divine nature, which is love and joy and peace. Love and joy and peace. And so practically, that's what I would do. I would catch it. First, no condemnation, because most people just they get a thought or a feeling, they go right into, I'm not a good Christian, I thought that, I'm not a good Christian, I said that, whatever. So you grab that stuff, there's no condemnation for it. You accept that this is what you're dealing with, you're dealing with a feeling of rejection or discouragement, and then you destroy it with truth. You bring that thought captive, you grab it, that feeling, and you say, you know what? Jesus died for me. Jesus took discouragement on the cross. I'm not interested in receiving that anymore inside of me. And it'll get weaker and weaker, and eventually you won't deal with that stuff as much as you do now. The enemy might come around later on and try to get you with it, but you can just be totally free from it. You can be totally free from rejection. You know, a lot of people can't speak in public. Guys, when I used to deal with schizophrenia years in your 20, I think 20 now, you 20 years ago or something, I couldn't talk to anybody. I was frightened. I went to this little group in my behavior health uh center where I used to get medication at, and there were three people in there. I think it was three people or four people, plus my teacher or whatever. They're teaching about recovery or whatever, this little booklet we were doing. Okay. And my case manager asked me to go, and I decided to go, but I was shaking. I was so scared. I had so much anxiety and fear of talking to people. Okay. These voices, anxiety, fear. I had so much fear in my body, I couldn't even move sometimes. But I forced myself to go into this situation, and I had to introduce myself and talk. And I actually did it. And then from there, I moved on. I ended up going and uh getting a part-time job. I ended up going full-time, becoming uh you know, behavior health administrator and all that stuff. Then eventually I was on Sid Roth Television show. And now I have Holy Ghost Television. The Lord blessed the ministry with Holy Ghost Television. But this is somebody that was scared to talk in front of three people. Like one, I think they were all like uh most of them, I think two or whatever. I don't know how many. There's three or four, but I think they were like pretty much homeless, the people that were in. I think they were just there for the free food. You know? I was scared out of my mind. But it was all false. It wasn't divine nature in me. See, so God had to develop divine nature in me. Even when you watch uh the younger broadcasts or younger, when I was younger, I was doing uh live streams and stuff like that, and you can see that I was still not as bold as I am now or comfortable as I am now on camera or interviews or whatever. But you know, I had to start somewhere. So I learned through time that God was with me and that these thoughts and these feelings aren't really me anymore. These emotions, these ungodly thoughts and these ungodly feelings, this isn't me. And you could start resisting the devil, disagreeing with him, and replacing it with the truth of God's word. Jesus did everything for you. What really helped me was to understand that I was crucified with Christ. It's no longer I that live, but Christ that lives in me. The life I now live, I in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and died for me. So I remind myself that Jesus loves me. I know it seems so simple, but when you're feeling like you're in a prison or when you're being persecuted by your family, your friends, or nobody likes you, or whatever it is, it it you forget what. Like 2 Peter says, you forget that you're cleansed from your past sins. You're cleansed from your unrighteousness at the cross. And so you have to go back to what? The simplicity that Jesus loves me, this I know, because the Bible tells me so. See, you go back to it. But what we do is we go and get counseling, which is fine, but we do the counseling every day for the rest of our lives. We buy a thousand books on healing and prosperity and deliverance, and we're still struggling. We go to see our pastor every other week, we get prayer every day. What's going on with what's wrong with me? You believe wrong. The power of your believing. Are you believing the truth of God's word? I think uh in Spirit Street 38, I talked, I went through, or maybe it was or uh 48 or 49, I talked about how the word of God is alive, it's sharp, sharper than any two-edged sword. It's alive. So when you read the word in the anointing, not just read the word, but you're you have the anointing and and right, it starts transforming you. Okay, when you're reading it in faith, transforming you, it's oh it comes into you and changes you somehow. When you have the anointing, when you're born again, you have the Holy Ghost. And the Bible says that you what? Let's go there for a second. Let's find that. Alright, so let's go back to this real quick. Uh where am I at? Here we go. And let's go to 1 John 2. So 1 John 2. So this is uh 2. Okay. Alright, so then it goes on. Uh I'm gonna go to uh I don't have time to do all today. I'm just gonna go here. Let's go here. Uh so he's writing these, so I'm not reading totally in context here, but basically he's writing to the uh to a group of Christians, and he says, I'm writing these, this 1 John 2, 26. I'm writing these things to you. So the things he wrote before and the things he's writing now are trying uh uh these things to you about those who are trying to lead you astray. I'm writing these things to warn you about those who lead you astray. These things I have written unto you concerning them that seduce you or try to deceive you. See, they're trying to deceive people into false beliefs. Then it says something very important, and you need to get this, okay? As for you, so but for you, okay, and as for you, and you, so meaning what? Born-again Christians with the divine nature of God, right? But the anointing which you have received of him, of what? God, of Jesus, abides in you. But the anointing which you have received from him abides in you, lives in you. Okay? So the Holy Spirit never leaves you, never forsakes you. You have to be secure that you're in Christ by grace through faith, not by being a good person. Okay? You have the anointing of God in you as a born-again person. You confess Jesus as Lord, you believe with your whole heart that God raised him from the dead, you shall be saved. Now you have the Spirit of God in you. And Apostle John, who walked with Jesus, right? He's a disciple and he's an apostle, right? He's one of 12. He says the anointing which he's writing these things to us because people try to deceive us, right? So think about it. There's a lot of people, especially in the last days, you know, with the internet and everything, they're trying to deceive you. And they're trying to get your money, they're trying to sell stuff to you, they're trying to control you, they're trying to get you to follow them. They're trying all these things to deceive you away from what? Christ, the simplicity of the gospel. They want to add to it. They want to add all this stuff to it instead of Jesus plus nothing. By grace through faith, you're saved. It's a gift of God. You're gifted eternal life. God calls you his child. You cry out now by the Spirit. You cry out, Abba, Father. You have a spirit of adoption that lives in you. Okay? But people try to deceive you and tell you other things to get you off of that and onto them. Okay? You want to be on the Holy Ghost. And what is John saying here by the anointing, by the anointing of the Holy Spirit speaking through him in this epistle? But the anointing which you have received, so you and me, those who believe in Jesus, have received from him, abides in you. And you, me, you, right, everyone who has the Holy Ghost, do not need anyone to teach you. That's interesting, huh? You don't need anybody to teach you. But as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as he has taught you, you will abide in him. See, he's telling you, you you remain in him, you abide in him, you shall abide in him. No lion, just as he has taught you, you shall abide in him. Okay. Remain in fellowship with Christ. So just as he has taught you, remain in fellowship in Christ, of Christ. Remain in Christ, remain in that fellowship. Don't get discouraged and stop fellowshipping with God. Don't get discouraged and but believe a lie because the devil comes to what? Kill, steal, and destroy. So he'll tell you a lie, he'll get you to believe a lie, he'll get you to start thinking wrong, he'll get you in your emotions to get you into your past sins, right? How do I know this? He's done it to me. You start doing a bunch of dumb stuff and then you snap out of it because God lives in you. He's like, this isn't the right way to go. You repent, you come back, but you waste time, right? You waste time. So abide in Christ. Remain in fellowship with him, stay with the truth. Okay, because the devil's out there trying to get you away from the truth, the simplicity of Christ, that your sins are forgiven, that you're righteous by faith, that you have the joy of the Lord, that you have the love of God inside of you, that no weapon formed against you can prosper. See, he's trying to pull you away from that. You need to stick with the Lord. Okay? Okay. Then he goes on. Now, dear children, remain in fellowship with Christ so that when he returns, you will be full of courage and not shrink back from him and shame. You don't want to be ashamed when he comes.

Right?

You don't want to be like, oh Lord, I really just I didn't do, you know, I didn't do what was right and remain in faith. Since we know Christ is righteous, we also know that he that does what is right is God's children. Okay. Anyway, go back here. As for you, the anointing you receive from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. So remember that you have the anointing of God. The Bible says if you ask God for wisdom, he will give it to you. So if you're in a situation where you need wisdom with your family, or you need wisdom with finances, or you need wisdom with your health, you need wisdom, what church to go to, you need wisdom with a friend, friend, or relationship, you need wisdom. Guess what? You can ask God for wisdom, and the anointing that lives in you will provide you wisdom. You need health and healing. It's inside of you. You have the anointing, you have the Holy Ghost, you have Jesus of Nazareth living inside your body. He is your health. You died to sickness, you died to disease, you died. You're dead to addictions, you're dead to bad habits, you're dead to that negative thinking, you're alive, all things are new in Christ. Okay, so discouragement, no condemnation. Grab that thing, bring it to the captivity of the obedience of Christ. No thanks, not interested in discouragement today. Christ took that for me. I choose truth. I repent from negative to positive, pretty much. Change my mind. Used to be negative all the time and discouraged. I'm changing my mind. I'm resisting the devil and I'm submitting to God, resisting the devil, and I'm choosing what? Truth. I got joy, I got peace, I got all that stuff inside of me. Health, healing. I got delivered, I'm delivered. I'm delivered. I'm delivered from death. I'm delivered from disease. I'm delivered from negativity. I'm delivered from anger. I'm delivered from bad habits. I'm delivered. I walk in deliverance. I walk in deliverance. That's what I walk in. Jesus delivered me. I'm a new creation. All things have passed away. And some things take some time, guys, because you've been programmed by it. And that's when you learn patience and perseverance and how to submit to God, resist the devil, how to learn from the Holy Spirit, how to walk in love towards others. See, it's a walking thing, right? You're walking with God. You're walking in the anointing, you're walking in truth, you're walking it out. It's discipleship, it's it's living, living the life, guys, living the life. So thank you so much for joining tonight. Uh, please go to our website, check us out, thefathersfriends.org.
