Everybody always asks, like, what different what uh Bible should I read? What Bible translation is the best, right? Well, the Bible comes from the original text, like written in Hebrew for like the Torah, the Old Testament, and the Greek in the New Testament. Okay, so that so you could read it. Uh, I like to read the original text, like I read the translations, but I like to go into the original text, like you've seen me do. For example, you can go right here to Hebrew and it tells you what these are. Okay, the Proverbs, a Pythi Maxim Assimile, right? Of Solomon, right? Son of David, king of Israel, right? So you can go into the Hebrew meanings. I really like this, guys. If you are interested in like studying the Bible for yourself, you should be, right? You want to get the context, right? There's a lot of people that do not uh teach context. So they give you one scripture. Let's go to the scary scripture, right? Let's go to that scary one everybody always comments about. Uh Hebrews. Let's go. This this this one right here, guys, got me uh uh so scared, and so many people scared. Um is it Hebrews 14? Hebrews, which one is it? No, it's uh Hebrews 32 or something, right? 32. Uh no, Hebrews, I forgot which one it was, but it's like in here. Hebrews 10. Why can't I find it? No, it is Hebrews. Here it is. I'll find a second. That's Hebrews 10 30. What is it? Why can't I remember it now? I used to be so scared. Here we go. Hebrews 10 26, that's what it is. Used to scare me so much, guys. So let's talk about this. Okay, so you go online. Hey Ryan, good to see you, Ryan Hines on uh YouTube. Shout out to you. Thanks for joining, guys. So this scripture right here uh has freaked out a lot of Christians, and people use it against them to hurt them and to torment them, and they'll do it because they are uh they don't grasp grace, they don't understand, so they take things out of context. A lot of people take things out of context. So Hebrews 10, 26, you heard this one a lot. For if we deliberately go on sinning, King James, if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more uh no more sacrifice for sins. So that is a scary verse, guys. So let's go right to it. So let's read it in in context, right? So let's go and read context. So Hebrews was written to who, guys. Hebrews was written to who, so it was either written like by Paul or Timothy, right? I think they say, right? So we can go over, let's go over to Google real quick, and I'm gonna type in uh I don't think I'm screen sharing this real quick. Uh let me see. Uh who Book of Hebrews context. Uh let's see, Book of Hebrews context. Okay, so if we go to Google here, let me see if I can share this screen. I want you guys to um I want you guys not to be afraid all the time because fear is keeping you back, okay? Fear is keeping you back. I'm I can't get it on the screen right now, but I'm just gonna read it for you. It was written to Jewish Christians, okay? So it was written to Jewish Christians before uh uh before the temple's destruction. Likely, it says likely before the temple's destruction. So you have to remember the temple is still up. The temple is still up in Jerusalem, it's like 80, 60 or whatever. Um, these are Jewish Christians, so they've heard the gospel, so they're in churches, right? Or they're scattered or wherever they're at. In Jerusalem, wherever, wherever these Jewish Christians are at. And this this book was written to them. So Hebrews was written specifically for Jewish Christians when the temple was still standing. Okay. So there's the context there. So you got to get the context of this before you start taking scripture, Hebrews 10, 26, and telling people, oh, you sinned after salvation, you're gonna burn in hell now. You're that's what they told me. Guys, the reason uh that I'm talking about this stuff is because it affected me severely. It literally caused mental health torment and mental illness and mental health issues because I was so scared because I wasn't sinlessly perfect all the time in my flesh. And that's a whole nother teaching for another day. But this is the context. There is a there is a temple system in place currently, and the Jewish Christians were tempted to go back to Judaism. Remember, Jesus fulfilled Judaism, Jesus fulfilled the law and the prophets. Everything in Judaism, Jesus fulfilled, and now we have a new covenant. Okay, so Judaism is wonderful and it's designed to teach you about the Messiah. It's designed to bring you to grace, to truth, to Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Everything written in the law and the prophets is concerning Christ. You have to remember that. You have to get that. Okay, everything written, okay? Everything written in the Old Testament is a type and a shadow of better things to come. Christ, forgiveness of sins, cleansing our conscience, okay? And I'll show you. So Hebrews, you gotta get it. Hebrews was written to who? Jewish Christians. And we can still read it today as Gentile Christians or Christians that don't have the Old Testament temple there or anything. We can still read and glean from it, glean from it, learn from it, encourage ourselves in it, okay. So you have to get the the uh get the uh uh you know the context of it, right? So the audience is second generation Jewish believers, well versed in the Old Testament, who are experiencing persecution, social margination, and they were talking about uh apostasy. He was trying to help people not what walk away. They wanted to help the people that were struggling in their faith to grab a hold, okay, to grab a hold of the Messiah, okay, to be born again, to really walk it out, right? Because there's a lot of people that hear the gospel that are in churches that aren't there all the way. They might have been baptized in water, they haven't had maybe a heart transformation yet. You meet them all the time. Those are the people that uh first John said, you know, they came out from us because they were never part of us. So they are in the churches, they just they're not there yet in their heart, they're not born from above yet. So there's tons of people like that. There's tons of people that are Christian by name that aren't truly born again yet. And our job as ministers and as preachers and uh Christians is to help people with truth, lead them to the Messiah, continue to plant seeds, encourage them to have faith, encourage them to read the Bible, encourage them to seek the Lord, encourage them, right? And this is what the book of Hebrews is. He's encouraging this broad group of Christians, Jewish Christians who came out of Judaism or are still in parts of Judaism because they're in Israel, probably a lot of them, right? So they're still practicing parts of the law, okay? And he's talking to them about the the uh how the temple system and everything was a type and shadow of Christ, and now Jesus came and fulfilled everything. That's this is what this is talking about, okay? And if you don't agree with that, that's fine. You can do your own study. I want you to do your own study as well. I do. I want you to learn uh so that you can be well versed in scripture for yourself and not have to have people always explain scripture to you and everything. You want to be able, with the Holy Spirit and with your own teaching or with your own research, be able to divide the scriptures so that you're not deceived. When I was in a cult, when I was younger, I first got saved, I was put under the uh uh uh perfect yourself in the flesh doctrine. So that's basically uh uh stop sinning or you're gonna uh lose your salvation. So, what did that do? That empowered sin instead of teaching me the truth that I died to sin. It taught me that I had to perfect myself to be righteous. But that's not the that's not the truth. The truth is we're righteous in Christ, and through the knowledge of God and our Lord Jesus Christ, we transform into righteous people who we already are. See, it's about identity and repentance is changing your mind towards Christ, towards God, right, in the world system and going towards God and becoming a disciple of Jesus, right? Receiving the Messiah and then allowing him to transform us from the inside out. So the sin we did five years ago, we're not doing it anymore. We're not practicing sin anymore. Why? Because sin is not inside of our true nature anymore. Okay, because you're free from practicing sin. You don't have to practice sin. There's a difference between like habitual sinning where you're struggling or you feel like you're in chains and bondage, you struggle with something. That's habitual sinning. So that would be something that you are, you have like a stronghold with. You're dealing with a stronghold, a mindset, a belief system. You really haven't experienced, you don't really understand grace yet. You don't understand that you're free from sin, the power of sin, you're completely free from it because you died. See? Anyway, I'm kind of getting off subject, but I'm trying to help as many people as I can understand God's uh amazing grace and the gospel of grace that teaches us to what? To abstain from ungodliness and worldly sin. It's it's teaching us to walk away from that. That's what real grace does. It teaches you that sin is not something we want anymore in our lives. It's teaching us to walk away from ungodly behavior. You know, you disliked that person or hated that person yesterday. Today you've received Christ, and now your heart's changed. You can look at that person differently, you can forgive, you can move on, okay? So, anyway, praise God. Thank you, Ryan, for your uh support. I appreciate that. Uh okay, so Hebrews 10. Let's go, let's keep going. You guys interested in this? So Hebrews 10 basis, the law is only a shadow of good things that are coming, okay? The law is only what? The shadow of good things that are coming. The law is the shadow of what? The good things that are coming, not the realities themselves. I'm reading from the NIV, you can read it from all sorts of stuff. Uh the NLT. The old system under the law of Moses was only a shadow, okay? So this is a shadow of what? Of good things to come. Okay. It can never, by the same sacrifices that are offered, continually offered every year. So he's talking about the high priest offering the sin sacrifice, right? We all know this. And what? It can't make perfect those who draw near. Okay. So the sacrifice of the Old Testament cannot make a person perfect on this earth. Okay, it was only a type and a shadow of better things to come, Christ. Okay, so you have to understand the place of the law Moses, okay, and the and the uh sacrificial laws and all that stuff, okay? So it was a shadow of things to come, not the realities. Okay. So let's go to Hebrews 10, 2. Otherwise, would they not have stopped being offered? For the worshippers would have been cleansed once for all and would no longer have felt guilty for their sins. So if these sacrifices that were at the old, at the old in the old covenant could take away uh the guilt of the sin in the consciousness of the sin, then they wouldn't need to do it every single year. Okay. They wouldn't, or they wouldn't need to, uh they would only do it one time, but they have to keep doing it. Okay. If it could, would not the offerings have ceased. For the worshipers would have been cleansed once for all and would no longer have felt the guilt of their sins, or having consciousness of your sins. No more consciousness of sins, being conscious of it, having that guilt and that condemnation. You feel guilt, you feel condemnation, you need to get under the blood, you need to ask the Lord to cleanse you, right? To uh give you that revelation that your sins are forgiven at the cross. Okay, so your sins are all forgiven at the cross. Okay, so if we uh first John says, if any man sin, we have a I write these things so you do not sin. But if any man does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous, who is the uh pro-petition, so he is our saving sacrifice, he is our sacrifice for our sins, not only ours, but for the whole world. So the whole world's sins are covered by Jesus of Nazareth completely. He was the offering for mankind's sins once and for all. And now through him we can walk free from consciousness and guilt of sins. Isn't that amazing? Okay, as we repent, we change our mind and we believe the truth. And as we change our mind and believe the truth, we learn from our mistakes, we learn and we grow. And the mistakes we made two years ago, we're not making them much that much anymore because we've learned from our past mistakes. So God is teaching us as sons. So you become sons of God. Okay. You're not a slave, you're a son of God. Amen. We were slaves to sin before. Hebrews 10:3. But those sacrifices are annual reminders of sins. They reminded them of their sins year after year. It kept reminding people hey, you're a sinner. It is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sin. So he's Old Testament blood and of the goats and bulls. Now we have the blood of Jesus. So see how he's telling the Jewish Christians that the blood of Jesus is way more uh exceedingly better than all that. Therefore, when Christ came into the world, he said, Sacrifice an offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me. You were not pleased with burnt offerings or offerings for sin. Then I said, Here I am. It is written about me in the scroll. I have come to do your will, God. So Jesus comes to do the will, which was written about him in the scriptures. All the old and new tests or all the old testament scriptures was all written about Jesus of Nazareth. So the whole Bible is about the Messiah. Okay? It's about Messiah saving mankind. That's what it's about. The Messiah saving mankind. Okay? First, Christ said, You did not want animal sacrifice or sin offerings or burnt offerings or other offerings for sin, nor were you pleased with them, though they are required by the law of Moses. So they are still they were required by the law of Moses, but he did not delight in them. It couldn't take away the sin. So they did it as a type and a shadow. So you look towards the old system, and if you had faith in all that, you do it as a work of faith, right? So they they were saved by faith, just like we're saved today. So David was saved by grace and faith. He was saved because he believed in the coming Messiah. And then they did all the offerings, everything to honor God, okay? To fulfill what God has. Does that make sense in a way? Okay, hopefully that makes sense. Like I said, if I'm not the best Bible teacher, that's okay. I'm really just trying to help people be free from fear, okay? Be free from condemnation, be free from practicing sin, be free from bondage, be free from addictions, be free from depression, be free from all the satanic fear of God, being so afraid of God that you can't serve him because you're afraid of making a mistake. Instead of being free and acknowledging that Jesus is everything to you, everything. Jesus is everything. He is everything. God is everything. Amen. He's the air you breathe. He lives inside of your heart. If you're born-again Christian, if you have the Holy Spirit, he lives in your heart. Amen. If you have confessed Jesus as Lord and believe with all your heart that God raised him from the dead, you shall be saved. If that's you, then you have Jesus living inside of you, and nothing's impossible to you because God is on your side, because the word of God says so, and the word Of God says that we are free because of Jesus. Amen. Not because of our good works, not because we can behave well, but because of Jesus. And through that revelation, through that truth, we change our mind. We start transforming into the truth of who we are as sons of God. Then he said, Here I am, I have come to do your will. He sets aside the first to establish the second. He cancels the first covenant in order to put the second into effect. He does away with the first in order to establish the second. Did you read that? You get that? Amazing, huh? He sets aside the first in order to establish the second, the new covenant, which is what? Jesus Christ and him crucified and risen from the dead. Okay, so he's talking about going from the old covenant to the new covenant. And this is really important for you to get when you read Hebrews 10, 26. See? They use this against you. People who are uh they are uh trying to uh control you in a way with fear and condemnation. They're works-based people, they believe because they work hard and they pray hard and they do all this stuff and that they're righteous because they don't do anything wrong all the time. But in fact, they're basically not maybe not all of them, but a lot of them are just they have that Pharisee mindset. Not saying they're not saved or anything like that. They just have the wrong mindset, they don't understand grace yet, and they hurt a lot of people and they don't realize that they're hurting people. They're hurting weaker Christians, they're hurting new believers. Okay? When you get saved, you realize you're a sinner, right? You have to understand that Jesus paid for your sin. So you understand you're a sinner. You have that revelation. God shows you the Holy Spirit comes and convicts the world of sin, convicts them of unbelief in Christ, and then you get saved because you had conviction that Jesus is the Messiah and you're a sinner. See? And you need to be saved. Okay, so now you're saved. You need to learn that you're forgiven. And when you don't have a lot of guilt for your sin, when the guilt starts going away, then you start sinning less because you realize you're free, and that part of your nature is not actually who you are anymore. You're a new creation. Your old nature has been crucified with Christ. See, you have to start believing correctly, believe what Jesus did for you. He set you free from the bondage of sin. You don't have to have sinful behaviors in your life all the time. Okay? That doesn't mean you're sinlessly perfect and you're never going to make a mistake or have a bad thought or say something wrong or whatever. I'm talking about being a slave to it and having to do it. Like when I used to smoke cigarettes, I was super addicted. Super addicted, or we used to deal with stuff on the computer, images on the computer, super addicted. I'd I'd see it, I'd just go right to it. I would want a cigarette, I just have to smoke. I was in bondage. It was controlling me. Apostle Paul said, all things are lawful, just not everything's good for me. I but I will not be put under what subjection to anything. Okay, so you don't want to be a slave to anything but the Holy Ghost. So today, just repent, change your mind. Lord, today I am a slave of the Holy Ghost. I am a servant of God. My members, like the Bible says, to offer your members to God for righteousness. Okay, so offer yourself to God for right. Lord, here's my hands, here's my eyes, here's my brain, here's my flesh. I offer my body as a living sacrifice. I offer it to you. I want to walk in purity. I want you to help me and give me the grace to let go of the behaviors and the personality stuff that isn't godly, that isn't righteous, because I'm a righteous person in Christ. Amen. Amen. I'm an I I see myself as an evangelist. I've been a pastor before, uh, so I I pastor people, I I I mentor people, all sorts of stuff, okay? So, but uh I I don't really feel like I'm a like a Bible teacher, like a Bible scholar. Okay, so this isn't I'm not like a Bible, I don't understand in myself all the Bible, but I I do want to help you see uh that uh that you're free in Christ and that you don't have to be afraid. And I want to help you get more revelation of your freedom and what Jesus really did for you because I know a lot of us struggle. You struggle, a lot of people struggle with depression, discouragement. Uh they they feel like they're not good enough, that they just keep falling into sin, that they they can't get rid of some sort of bondage or addiction. But I'm telling you that Jesus' blood has freed you. You're already free. You have to just start believing right, transform your mind, and let go of the religious mindset that you have to make yourself righteous by your behavior. You are righteous. Now you just walk in your in the love of God and in righteousness that lives inside of you and has been gifted to you. And you grow and you grow in your knowledge of God. And Hebrews 10 is one I want you to get so you don't read it. And I used to avoid it because I didn't understand. I was so afraid. I was so afraid. I still see it pop up on social media. People do these, if you sin willfully, you you have lost your salvation. And you know what that does to people mentally and emotionally, who are maybe unstable a little bit because they're new or they're weak, weak in the faith, or maybe they sin a lot because they don't know who they are and they they're just uh God's working on them, but they just you know, they don't under, you know, they're abused, spiritually abused. There's a lot of people coming out of cults, all sorts of stuff, guys. So we want to teach people the truth in love. So the truth is that when you get saved, you understand your sinner and Jesus paid the price for your sins. After salvation, now you're to be a righteous person, and that takes time to grow. Okay, you learn from your mistakes, you continue to grow. And so the behaviors you did last year, hopefully you're not doing them this year, and you start growing. Behaviors you do this year, hopefully you're not doing them five years from now, right? Your character grows, your patience grows, your love grows, and when you start learning that you're not under the law anymore for righteousness and that you're gifted righteous, then you can start walking in that. It's amazing, guys, it really is. So, okay, so let's keep going. Hebrews 10 9. So he does away with the first in order to establish the second, and by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ. What does that say? Once for all. Once for all time, once for all. Once for all, once for all. Once for all. Okay, so he's sharing with these uh these individuals, these Jewish Christians, that the sacrifice of Jesus has made us perfect forever, has made us holy forever, that has sanctified us forever. Okay, so get that in your head that you're holy, that you're a holy person. Okay, when you realize you're a holy person, then the temptation to go do dumb things isn't as strong because you start realizing, hey, I'm a holy person, I'm a righteous person. I'm not talking about uh, you know, faking it. I'm talking about really believing that you're a holy person, that you're the temple of the Holy Spirit, that you have been sanctified one time forever. Okay? Now, this doesn't go away, guys. You don't all of a sudden just become unsanctified. Because later on in the Bible, it says that we're guaranteed eternal life through the Holy Spirit in us, right? So the Holy Spirit in us is the guarantee that we have eternal inheritance. Okay, so you're secure in Christ too. Okay, you have to you have to get this, or you're always gonna struggle with works-based behavior. You're gonna say, oh, I prayed hard today, God should bless me, and then you don't pray one day that much, and then you think, oh, God's gonna curse me, see? It's this whole, it's all on you, it's all you, it's all you, see, it's all self. Okay, it's not self anymore, guys. It's all about Christ, all about Jesus of Nazareth, all about his blood, all about his glory, all about his power, all about his ability to be perfect, his ability to keep the law of Moses perfectly, his ability to save you, his ability to keep you in his hand, and no one can pluck you out of the Father's hand. Nothing can separate you from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. You have to get this, or you're always going to struggle. And this took me a long time to get because I always thought God was far away. I always thought God, you know, it wasn't a good father. I didn't know what it was like, you know, to have uh, you know, to have such love that Christ shows us, that God shows us. He gifts us the Holy Spirit when we're we're not trustworthy. We are not trustworthy in our flesh. But God gifts us eternal life and calls us sons and daughters by his grace, and all we do is believe in Jesus. It's it, guys. By grace you're saved through faith, and it's a gift of God, not by works, lest any man should boast. So people they want to boast in what they do, they want to boast in how holy they are, they want to boast in that they don't do certain things, they want to boast in themselves. If you read Galatians 5 or in Galatians, book of Galatians, it talks about that. They came in and they tried to bewitch the church of Galatia, trying to get them back under what? The law of Moses. Okay. But remember, in Hebrews, it says what? Then he said, Look, I have come to do your will. He cancels the first covenant in order to put the second into effect. Okay, and by this will, for God's will was for us to be made holy by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once and for all. Okay, Christ died before you were born. Praise God. Christ died before the foundation of the world. That I don't even know how that works. It's outside of time somehow. So start believing you're holy forever. And if you screw up and you're struggling, you confess it. You you know, the Bible says you confess, you forsake the sin, right? Confess, forsake. That's how you find mercy. Confess, forsake. Just confess it and ask the Lord to help you forsake it. Because sin is always going to lead to decay of life and death.

So sinful behaviors will always lead to decay of life, decay of relationships, you're hurting people, you're hurting yourself, your health, uh, the community, whatever it is. So sin always is negative. So confess it, forsake it, and learn righteousness. And you learn righteousness by the revelation of God, of Jesus Christ and what he did for you. Amen. All right. So under the old covenant, so now he's talking about the old, he calls it the old covenant, okay, or in in uh NLT, uh, or at the and then in King James he talks about uh the current system, because remember, the book of Hebrews was was to people who still had the um still had the uh uh the temple, right? So this is Jewish Christians that still had the temple sitting there, and every priest stands daily, so the priests are daily ministering, offering uh the same sacrifices, which can never, so he says they can never take away sins. So he says they that God replaced the old with the new, Jesus came and made us holy one time forever, one sacrifice for sins, and then he goes back to the old uh the old covenant and says, Hey, look, these sacrifices can never take away sins. So, what is he talking about here? The greatness of Jesus Christ, his sacrifice. Okay, but our high priest offered himself to God as a single sacrifice for sins. But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God. It is finished. There he waits until his enemies are humbled and made a foot still under his feet. So he's waiting. Then he goes on again. So again he says this for by one sacrifice he is made perfect forever, perfect forever those who are being made holy, who are being made holy, who are being sanctified. Uh, for by one offering is perfect forever them that are sanctified or being sanctified. So you're holy, and then you you and sanctify, but then there's an ongoing sanctification, right? We all know this. We you know you you get saved, and then God starts pruning you, you start surrendering to God, and the Bible says to you know, put to death the deeds of the body or the works of the flesh or all those things. So you start pruning, God starts working with you, uh, sometimes through bad situations, for you to repent to live in holiness, because that's who you are. So you are holy, and Hebrews 10 is basically telling you this, but it's used again, it's all it's like the best. I mean, it's the best, literally one of the best chapters in the Bible. I think it's wonderful. It actually secures you in Christ. But do you see how it's been used for people like me when I was young in the Lord to damage me and hurt me? Okay, but it's a it's a wonderful passage. Okay, for so for by one offering, Christ, by one offering, Christ Himself, God in flesh, came and he forever made Nick Grimsman and you. Perfect. Okay. And we are being sanctified to be more like Jesus. See? Man, I love the presence of the Lord. Lord, I just worship you. Think how hard it is to live under the law. Think how hard it was when you tried to be good enough to earn salvation or to earn God's blessings. Think how hard it is. It is so hard. It is so hard to try to earn everything. It is so hard to try to be righteous enough for God to answer your prayers. It's so hard to try to be delivered because you you feel like you have to be the sinless perfect person, be delivered from demons or delivered from depression. You have to be perfect. No, you have to submit to God, submit to Jesus Christ, and then he helps you what? Resist the devil. He helps you resist those lies through what the truth of the gospel. It's the good news that you can't save yourself. And we we lose it. We you know, we get we get saved, and then we start trying to rest on ourselves. Oh Lord, I I went to church every every day this week. I prayed at the altar every day, and I'm still not healed. Why not, Lord? Lord, I'm I'm trying really hard. I fed all the poor people in my neighborhood, I gave all my money to the widows, I did everything. Why aren't I healed yet? But it says by his wounds you are healed. It's by his stripes we are healed. See? So we have to switch out of the mindset that the world gave us, that sin gave us, that the slave driver, the devil gave us when we were in sin, when we were slaves to sin. And then use the law to condemn us because we were never good enough to earn eternal life or to earn favor of God. Okay. I'm not gonna apologize for tearing up or anything because I love the Lord and I don't care what you think. God loves me. All right, so uh Hebrews 10, 14. For by one offering he has perfected forever. So say it with me, I am perfect, I am perfect spiritually forever. I am perfect forever spiritually because of Jesus' blood. I'm completely perfect, and your character and everything else is being sanctified, your life is being sanctified, and you're growing in grace, your personality is changing. God is teaching you who you are, that you have the mind of Christ. Amen. Hebrews 10:15. The Holy Spirit also testifies to us about this. First, he says, so the Holy Spirit testifies. This is the covenant I will make with them after that time, says the Lord. I will what? I will put my laws in their hearts and I will write them on their minds. This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days. So this is the new covenant, says the Lord. I will put my laws into their hearts and their minds, I will write them. Praise God. Remember, the essence of God's law is love. Love God and love your neighbor. Okay? So you have love put inside of you. Isn't that amazing? All right, let's keep going. He that loves fulfills everything. Then he adds, I will never again remember their sins and lawless deeds. What? Amazing. So he does not count your sins against you. Will you be chastened? Yeah. Will bad stuff happen to your life if you rebel and all stuff? Yeah, because the devil will start coming in and messing with you. Can God chasten you to get you to repent? Absolutely. But he's not holding it to your account eternally. So on judgment day, God's not going to sit there and talk to you about your sins. Because why? He says, right here, I will remember their sins and their lawless deeds no more. So a Christian goes to the Bima seat later on talks about rewards about what we did in our body. You know, when you fed the lady, you know, the homeless lady, did you do it because you were trying to get Instagram follows? So you know you did a video to show everybody, or did you do it out of your heart? So God is going to bring everything into judgment, but it's not uh it's not this type of judgment where people are gonna be judged for their sins. Because Jesus took your sins. Remember Hebrews, uh back in Hebrews 10, uh 16 or 15, right? He says, You're perfected forever, you're holy one time. See? I will remember their sins, their lawless deeds no more. This is amazing. So, what is he doing? He's caught, he's going uh the Old Testament to the New Testament. Which one's better? The old covenant was fulfilled in Christ. Now we have the new covenant. Look at this, guys. It's the good news. This is good news, this isn't bad news. Okay, and when sins have been forgiven, there's no need to offer any more sacrifices. So he's going back to what? The Jewish Christians still have the temple he's talking about now, sacrifices. Okay, so sins have been forgiven forever through Jesus Christ. Through faith in Jesus Christ, you're forgiven forever, eternally. Your sins and the judgment for your sin has been on Jesus, okay? Past, present, and future. Because why? Your sins were future. Jesus died before you were born. Okay. And if you really understand the gospel, you will start living in your new nature, right? As you transform, and your new nature doesn't have sinful behaviors in it. So your new nature doesn't want to go out and hurt people and do things, bad things. Your new nature. So if you're doing a bunch of bad stuff, you are living in your carnal nature still, and you start reaping from that. Bad stuff happens in your life, depression, uh, whatever could start happening in your life. You just, you know, it's because you're living in the flesh. You have to learn to live in the spirit. Okay. And then we walk with God. And it's a transformation process. This isn't instant, guys. Sanctification is a lifelong process. But you have to first believe who you are. And when sins have been forgiven, there's no need to offer any more sacrifices. Now, where there is remission of these, there's no longer any offering for sin. Now, where a remission of this is, there's no more offering for sin. So there's no more offering for sin. So, right here, the writer of the book of Hebrews is telling the Jewish Christians that the old, the bulls and everything that they're sacrificing at the current temple that they have is uh no is no more. There's no more offering for sin. Only Jesus. Okay, so you can't go create a temple and start sacrificing for the forgiveness of your sins. Only Jesus is the sacrifice for your sins. Amen. Hebrews 10 19. Therefore, brothers, okay. So then he says, Dear brothers, so he's talking to them. We can now boldly enter heaven's most holy place because. Of the blood of Jesus. We get to enter the holy place of God because of the blood of Jesus. We could have confidence for entering the holiest by the blood of Jesus. In the old covenant, you could not enter the holy place. A common person could not go into the holy place. The temple into the holy of holies. Only once a year, the high priest. Now the temple has uh the the uh uh the curtain that separated us from the holy holy place was torn because it was Jesus' flesh. Remember from top to bottom, it was torn, and so now we can enter freely in through the blood of Jesus into the holy place. Guys, you you got to get this. So when you're praying, instead of thinking you're just this horrible sinner saved by grace and your God is so far away and he's not gonna answer your prayers, you need to start believing that you're a holy person and through the blood of Jesus Christ, you can go right in and talk to God. And that he is not counting your sins against you. But he wants you to learn to live in righteousness. He wants to teach you himself how to be a holy man or woman of God. He wants to teach you how to love like Jesus, he wants to teach you to forgive like him, he wants to teach you how to have joy like him, he wants to teach you how to conquer like him. Amen. And so have boldness to come in. That's what it says right here. So he's encouraging them. Hebrews 10, 20. By his death, Jesus opened a new and living life-giving way through the curtain into the holy place, like I was just talking to you about. Okay, and since we have a great high priest over the house of God, okay, so he's saying, since we now have this great high priest, he's exalting Jesus who rules over God's house, who rules over us, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart. Let us draw near with a sincere heart. So be sincere with God, in full assurance of faith. So he's encouraging you to have a sincere heart towards God in a full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. So our heart is sprinkled with the blood. So our conscience is clean by the blood. If you feel like your conscience is dirty, you feel like you remember all your sins, all that stuff, then I what I would say is get close to the Lord, sit with the Lord, take communion, maybe, you know, uh, sit with the Lord, take communion, talk to him about the cross and what he did for you, read Hebrews 10, and see that you are holy and righteous and that your sins are forgiven. A Christian needs to understand their sins are forgiven, or they're always going to struggle with sinful behaviors. It's it's like a lack of uh knowledge, like people get uh destroyed, right? Because they they they think that they're that God's mad at them, or they'll don't they're they're not blessed, or they're not holy. So they live what they believe, right? So you believe you're just the sinner saved by grace. Well, that's what you manifest. You manifest a bunch of struggle with sin and depression, discouragement, instead of believing you're a holy person, and that God has a plan for you, and that you are a son or daughter of the Most High God, and no weapon formed against you shall prosper, and that you're healed and delivered because of Jesus, not because you're a great person. Okay, and you're washed, you're clean because of him. So then he says, Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess. Okay, so what is he saying? Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering. Let us hold resolutely to the hope we profess. So, what is he? We hold fast the confession of our hope. So now what is he doing? Now he's encouraging the people in the that are reading this, it could be people who are on the sidelines, people that go to church, people that are being persecuted, and to go, they want to go back to the sacrificial system, they want to leave Christianity. Uh, maybe they they're really not there yet with God. And he's saying what? Hold fast to the confession of your hope. Hold on to it, hold tightly to the confession of our hope. What is our hope? Jesus of Nazareth. That's what he's saying, basically, right? The can the profession. So in King James says, let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering, for he is faithful that promise. So he's like, hold fast the profession of your faith. Okay, so if you're a Christian, hold fast to it. If you say you're a Christian, if you're going to church, if you're, you know, hold fast to that profession of faith. You're proclaiming Jesus as Lord, okay. Hold on to it because God is faithful to you. He's trusted to keep his promises. That's what he's saying. He's encouraging them to what? Hold on to faith because a lot of them are weak or they're just on the sidelines. And let us consider how we may spur one another toward love and good deeds. Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. So, what is a church, pastor, people, what are we supposed to do as uh Christians? Encourage people to love and to do good works. How do you express your love to your community? How do you express your love to your family? How do you express your love? And then that's when you get into good works. So he's explaining, hey, you know, have faith, and now let's encourage, let's stir each other up, let's provoke one another to love and then good works. Okay, these two things don't save you, but they're a byproduct of being saved, is love and good works. You love people. Even first John says that. Those who are born of God love the brethren. If you hate the brethren, you're not really born of God. Let us consider how to stir up one another in love and good works. Okay, not giving up meeting together, okay? So then he's saying, not neglect our meeting together. So these are Christians that assemble together where? Most likely in homes. They didn't, you know, or in the synagogue. They would, you know, get together in a maybe a part of the synagogue or the temple and they would worship together and preach a gospel. They would meet in houses. They didn't have like mega churches like they do now. So he's encouraging, don't forsake Christians. This isn't go to church every Sunday and every Tuesday night. This is don't forsake what? Christians. Don't forsake the assembly of ourselves together. Don't forsake having dinner with your neighbor who's a Christian, and you guys pray together. Don't forsake Christianity, basically. Okay. Don't forsake getting together, as some have made a habit, as is the habit of some or the custom with some, uh, as the manner of some is, uh, but exhorting one another. So people, they come and they're they they say they're Christian. They say they're Christian, right? Jewish Christian, right? Hebrews, and then they just uh, you know what, I don't need to, I don't need to be with Christians at all. I I'm not not interested in going to the dinner with the Christians. I'm not interested in being on their part of the synagogue or the temple. That's their habit. Okay? So what is he saying? Do those people, are those people saving faith? Are they or not? See? He's encouraging people to continue in the faith, see? And so much more as you see the day is drawing near, the day is approaching. What day? Judgment day. So remember that in this generation, Jesus said all those things will come to pass. The temple will be destroyed, nothing will be left. All those things. That the armies will surround Jerusalem. So I, you know, I personally believe that uh the destruction of the temple and all that stuff that happened back then with all the Jewish people being uh uh uh uh uh killed and everything by the Romans, that was part of what Jesus said that would happen in the last days. And then also we have an end times as well, right? For the whole world, Titan Shadow. That's what I personally believe right now. I don't know, maybe I'm wrong, but you do your own study. But so the day is approaching, either the destruction of Jerusalem by the Romans or judgment day. It doesn't really matter, either or you're gonna meet Jesus. So the day is approaching where you're gonna meet the Lord. Okay, okay, so here's the tough one, guys. So now remember we had all this context. We had all this context, okay? So he's talking to Jewish Christians. He talked about being holy forever, okay? That your sins are forgiven forever, that God doesn't count your sins anymore. Then he goes on, uh, for if we deliberately keep on sinning after we've received the knowledge of the truth, what's the knowledge of the truth? Jesus of Nazareth. No sacrifice for sins is left. Dear friends, if we deliberately continue sinning after we receive the knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice that will cover those sins. Okay, for if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sins. So he's talking about a sacrifice for sins. Okay? Now, if for if we go on sinning willfully, so what would be sinning willfully, guys? For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving, what is this? Receiving the knowledge of the truth. Okay? It doesn't say heart transformation, you're born again, does it? Receiving the knowledge of the truth. You've received the knowledge of the truth, you've heard the gospel, you've gone to the church meetings, you've done all these things, you go on sinning willfully, you're rejecting Christ. That's what they're doing. They deliberately go on sinning. For if we deliberately sin, there's another term right there. So we'll go to Hebrews. Let's break this down. So remember, we're holy and perfect forever. So what is he talking about here? If we deliberately, we willingly, of one own accord, spontaneously, uh voluntarily, so if we voluntarily miss the mark, to miss the mark, to err, especially to sin. So, what does that actually mean, guys? So sin is actually to miss the mark, like an arrow. Okay, let's say a Roman archer has an arrow, right? So he's he's he's aiming for the bullseye. To sin is actually to miss the mark of perfection. Okay, so remember that Jesus is our perfection. So if we are willingly and deliberately, what? Missing the mark of Jesus after we've received, we've received what? We've received the knowledge, just knowledge, recognition, full discernment, acknowledgement of the what? The truth. Okay. So think of it like this: somebody hears the gospel, they go to church, they make a habit of not showing up or uh not going to the houses anymore. They, you know, they're not really where? Born of above. They have knowledge of the truth. They have the knowledge, they've heard, they read the book of Hebrews, they understand that the old covenant and the new covenant, they understand this, right? They have the knowledge of the gospel, they've heard Jesus. Okay? He says, if we if we what? If we deliberately go on missing the mark, if we go on, if we miss, if we deliberately miss the mark, basically, after we've received the knowledge of what? The truth. What's the truth? Jesus Christ. So if you willingly miss the mark, after you've heard the gospel, and you what? Go back, you stay in the old uh testament sacrifices or go back to the sacrifices and you turn away. Okay, there's no further sacrifice for sins remains. You can't be forgiven through the old covenant system anymore. See, remember it's written to Hebrew Christians or the church, the the Christian Hebrews. There's a lot of different people in uh churches, remember? People that forsake, people that aren't saved, people that are kind to saved, people that are on the fence, right? And then there's people who are sold out for God, then there's people who are almost there. See, there's so many different people, and he's writing to Jewish Christians that hear the gospel in their churches. So there's no more what sacrifice. Remember, the whole Hebrews 10 was talking about what? The glorious sacrifice of Christ and how we are holy now and perfect forever, and how he doesn't uh remember our sins anymore, and how he died before we were even born. So it covers all sin. So this right here, what they're using against you, is basically for those that reject, that know the gospel and then reject it and go back to what? The old covenant. They say, ah, you know what? Nah, I'm gonna stick with the temple sacrifices. Okay, this scripture has been used to hurt Christians and myself so many times, and it took me a long time to be able to read it without shaking. Because every sin is willful, guys, in a way, right? Like you get tempted and then you go do something. So when you read this as a baby Christian or young Christian or a weak Christian, you think, oh my gosh, I did it. I willfully sinned. Okay, but you go to 1 John, he says, if you say you have no sin, you lie. You're not practicing the truth. Okay. So of course, Christians deal with daily struggles and personality issues, and sometimes they do fall and they do sin. But John, remember, Apostle John, the the apostle of love, he said, I write these things to you so you do not sin. Sin bad, guys. Bad, right? Not good. Hurts people, hurts God, hurts you. Hurts others. Okay? If any man does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ, the righteous. So you are forgiven. Confess and forsake. Confess and forsake. Confess, forsake. Ask God for grace to help you. You know how I got free from a lot of stuff I struggled with? I finally just surrendered. I realized, Lord, I can't overcome this. You have to do it through me. I can't, Lord, I just can't do it in my own self. And I stopped resting on myself. I started looking at the Savior. I started looking at his blood. I started looking at the Holy Spirit in me instead of all my junk. And then pretty soon I'm like, wow, I don't do that sinful behavior anymore. Wow, I'm different. Okay? So I hope this has given you some comfort. Uh, we're gonna keep going, finish this. So Hebrews 10, 26. Uh, because I know it scares a lot of Christians, and a lot of people use this against people. And I and I just really want to help those that are struggling because it really hurt me. That that the Hebrews 10 really scared me uh for a long time until I I uh I started learning about grace and God's goodness in reading and context and all that stuff. Okay, okay. There's only the terrible expectation of God's judgment and the raging fire that will what consume the what enemies of God. Okay, so first of all, you're not an enemy of God, you're not an adversary of God if you're in Christ, you're a son of God, okay? Praise God. So this isn't this isn't about you. This is about people who reject what? Anyone who rejected the law of Moses, okay? For anyone who refused to obey the law of Moses, so back in the time of Israel, uh they set aside the law of Moses. Let's say you're like, you know what? I'm just gonna like not follow any of this. I'm gonna live in the tents with the Hebrew people back, you know, back then or whatever, and I'm just gonna break all the laws, and I just despise it all. They reject the law of Moses. They what? They died mercy uh without mercy on the testimony of truth. They got stoned, right? I think mostly, right? Then he says, How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot? So trampling the Son of God afoot is rejecting him, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the spirit of grace. Okay, which he was sanctified, so who was under the foot of the and has profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified and outraged the spirit of grace. So he was everybody sanctified and everybody saved, if you think about it. But faith is how you access it. So Jesus died for everybody, but not everybody is sanctified until they received Christ. Okay. So they were presented the gospel and then they said, I'm not interested. Or they followed along a little bit and they said, No, I'm going back to the old covenant. So what does that do? He's trampling on the precious uh Messiah.

And he's insulting the Spirit of Grace. See? Disdained. See, these aren't things that you do. This is somebody that is not interested in Christ. They're interested in you know them themselves or self-righteousness or whatever. Okay? So this isn't you. Okay, we can go into the Greek. How much more severely do you think one deserves to be punished who has trampled? Okay, to reject with disdain. That's not you, guys. That's not somebody who's watching this and is interested in God. To reject with disdain. No, those are the people that were in the churches, the Jewish Christians or whatever, that heard the gospel and said, nah, I'm not interested. Or they followed along a little bit and then they said, No, I'm going back to old covenant.

Profaned. Okay, they called common the blood of the covenant. So, oh no big deal. Okay. That's sanctifying to make holy. That makes him holy and insulted. See? It's the spirit of grace. So the grace, grace is coming upon him. He got the gospel, all these things, and then what did he do? This person, he or her, they would reject it and go back to the old covenant.

Hebrews 10 30. For we know him who said, It is my mine to avenge, I will repay. And again, the Lord will judge his people. Okay, everybody's God's people, but the Jewish people, right? Were the uh, you know, were the the Israelites, were the chosen people, right? The old covenant. So the Lord will judge his people because he's speaking to who? Hebrews. It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Scary, this is some scary stuff here, guys. I admit it. But look what he says. Then remember the early days after you have received the light, when you endured great conflicts, uh full of suffering. Sometimes you were publicly exposed to insult and persecution. So now he's going through. You were exposed to public ridicule and were beaten. These remember, these people are being persecuted in Jerusalem and different places, sometimes being publicly exposed to reproach and affliction, and sometimes being partners with those so treated. So they were mistreated. You suffered along with those in prison and joyfully accepted the confiscation of your property because you knew that you yourselves had better and lasting possessions. So these people, uh, a lot of them have gone through things. They've lost their possessions, all these things. These are the people that are of faith. So now he's going back to the people who are of faith to encourage them. The whole book is about encouraging them to stay with Jesus. So do not throw away your confidence, it will be richly rewarded.

New King James, therefore, do not cast away your confidence, which has a great reward. Cast not away, therefore, your confidence, which has great recompense of reward. So your confidence in Christ has reward. It has a reward. So don't throw it away. Keep confident with God. Keep confident in Christ, that He's able to get you through it all. You need to persevere so that when you've done the will of God, you'll receive what was promised. For ye have need of patience, that after you have done the will of God, you might receive the promise. So you may have need of endurance so that after done the will of God, you may receive the promise. You need to persevere so that you that after you have done the will of God, you will receive what He has promised. You have to see here how there's different translations, right? And even when you go into the Hebrew or the Greek, let's say, there's different meanings. Perseverance, for example, has all the different stuff. Consistency, patient waiting for, you know, after you've done, you know, manufacture. So you can say, so that you manufacture God's will, you know, after you manufacture that. So there's different wording when you study this stuff. So what I like to do is when I read it, I like to, um, I've talked about this before, but basically. Basically, you read it and then you you go to the Greek or whatever, and you kind of find what uh with context and stuff, you kind of find what kind of should go there. You know, it's because it's translations, guys. This is how it works, you know. And so, like every you know, there's people King James only, you know, stuff like that. I I'm not into that because I like going into the Greek and the Hebrew, and if you look at different stuff, uh different translations, they translate it differently. So for me, I like this translation right here. Uh uh, the Berean standard, you need to persevere so that after you've done the will of God, you will receive what is promised. So he's teaching people to have patience, endurance, and when you do the will of God, eventually you will receive what was promised to you, which is eternal life, blessings, all that stuff. For a little while, he whose coming will come and not delay. But my righteous one will live by faith, okay? And my righteous ones will live by faith. So the righteous ones, so the people who are righteous live by faith. But I take no pleasure in who? Anyone who turns away. Draw back, anyone drawing back. So who is he talking to? Those people that drew back. Remember? Or he's talking about the people that drew back. It's very interesting. So he goes on to say, we're holy, we're righteous, and then how beautiful and perfect Christ came, did everything for us, how he uh we have the New Testament or the New Covenant now, and then he talks about those who are kind of in church, kind of not. They're forsaking the assembly of people. And then he talks about the willful sin, right? Willfully uh choosing to reject missing the mark, choosing over and over to say, no, I'm not interested in the truth. And then he goes in to say those people did that with the law of Moses under the old covenant. They would, you know, they were living in the under the old covenant, they'd say, No, I'm not interested in following any of that. They get stoned or uh, you know, whatever happened to them, right? Stoned or killed or whatever. And then he talks about a sore punishment, they're gonna have a worse punishment. So he's encouraging these people not to do that, push forward in hope. And then he talks about God says, righteous people live by faith. So Abraham lived by faith, David lived by faith, we live by faith. But those who what? They turn away from faith, they turn away from the Messiah. His soul has no pleasure in them.

But then he goes on to encourage you. But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved. But we are not those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls. Well, we are not of those who draw back to perdition, to destruction, right? But for those who believe to the saving of the soul or the new American standard. We are not among those who shrink to destruction, but of those who have faith for the safekeeping of the soul. See? Faith is what pleases God, and you have faith in Jesus, you please God. Amen. Amen. So this is to encourage you. And then it goes on to what? Hebrews 11:1. See, it leads right into faith. See how it all flows? The whole book of Hebrews is to teach the Jewish Christians of the time about the temple sacrifices, the shadow of the old covenant, all that stuff, to now the new covenant, how beautiful it is, how wonderful, how set apart we are, how holy we are, how righteous we are, how forgiven we are forever, one time forever. And then now, how to have faith, how to remain in faith. Isn't that amazing? Now, faith is a confidence, confidence in what we hope for and an assurance about what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for through their faith. The people in days of old earned a good reputation. Amen. It's always been faith, guys. It's always been simple faith in God and in the Messiah. The gospel was preached to um to those uh the gospel was preached uh to uh Abraham and David and everything. They they they heard the gospel. People are afraid that it's hard for them to receive forgiveness, especially if you were traumatized by spiritual abuse. If you know, I get calls, we get calls on the 1-800 number, uh, 188 know him, our phone number. People are afraid uh that they lost their salvation because some uh preacher on social media was saying Hebrews 10.26, uh, they were afraid that they backslid too much and all this stuff. Guys, the reason people backslide is two reasons. One, they have an identity issue, they don't realize what God did for them uh or they're underwork. So if you were raised in a religious household and it was kind of self-righteous uh do's and don'ts and things like that, and it was real hard on behavior, you get focused on your behavior and then you get pulled by your flesh into bad behaviors and then condemnation, and condemnation will bring the person into more bad behaviors. So the answer is grace, guys, is to learn God's unending grace and his love and his favor for you. And then you don't you you start living in your your real uh personality, really, the new nature in Christ, which doesn't want to go sin. Your new nature doesn't want to go around sinning. That's the truth, and you know that if you have the Holy Ghost, you know, and so the things you struggle with, you have to surrender that to God, confess, forsake. And if you you know, if you feel like it's a bondage, then you have to learn that you're not in bondage anymore. I can go into Hebrews 8 and all that stuff for Hebrews 6, 7, 8 later. I experienced so much fear through the struggles and the uh sins that I have done in my past, which I'm not um I'm not proud of at all. But Lord, that you you've shown me your grace and your mercy, and that if any man sins, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ, the righteous, and we have mercy as Christians. And Lord, I thank you that our new nature doesn't want to go around hurting people and sinning and all that stuff. I thank you for teaching us our new nature, and thank you for Hebrews 10, Lord. It's it's really um it's amazing that I can actually teach it, Lord, because I used to be so afraid of that chapter. You are so faithful to me. I glorified Jesus of Nazareth, Father, and I ask, Lord, as the Word of God has gone forth, I ask that miracles would take place in people's lives. I pray, Lord, uh, in agreement to your will for them, Lord, whatever it may be, if it's healing, I pray healing would just flow right now, deliverance, that devils would lead people, that depression would come out of them, that discouragement would fall out of their soul. Lord, that they would be encouraged in faith, and that the next time the enemy tries to condemn them, that they will say, No, I am holy, I'm righteous because of Jesus. I am free because of Jesus, and that God loves me because of Jesus. Thank you that we're saved by grace through faith, Lord, not by works or our behavior. Thank you for changing us and moving us from glory to glory. Thank you for the gifts of the Holy Ghost. Thank you for the ability to pray in tongues. Thank you, Lord, for uh the gift of prophecy, the gift of miracles, the gifts of healings, uh, diverse tongues, Lord, languages, uh, the word of wisdom, the word of uh knowledge. I thank you for releasing your gifts to your people as we fellowship together and as we worship Jesus Christ. Thank you, God. Thank you that all things work together for our good.
