All right, welcome to another episode of Absolutely Not Another Podcast. This is presented by Forever and More event planning. Use code Bride10 B-R-I-D-E 10 at checkout to save 10% off the top tier 12-month planning pass. We just came back from a trip with our kids. A nice old road trip road trip. Give us the time. How long did it take each way?

SPEAKER_00

Um 13 in a in some change.

SPEAKER_02

In some change.

SPEAKER_00

She have to like her in stopping for breaks, stopping for a bathroom. But we did we did stop overnight and then finish up the trip the next morning so that we could like get to our destination and then get home.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. I growing up that I only did road trip vacations. Some were longer than others. Like the longest road trip I went growing up was Myrtle Beach from my house is like 10 to 12 hours, I believe. Like I went on other ones that were family reunion or local, like Ocean City places like that, that were within like six hours. They're not too bad. But you half of your day is spent driving. Gets a little bit difficult when you have kids under the age of five. Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

When I used to travel with our family, we always traveled like in my grandfather's RV. It was this like giant thing. So like traveling for me as a kid in that was fun. I'm like, oh yeah. My parents probably were like, F this, this sucks.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Driving it around in a good time.

SPEAKER_02

I was driving in like a car. I wasn't even, I was in like a regular sedan.

SPEAKER_00

I know. Well, sometimes I would do car rides, but I do feel that my parents always drove overnight. So like we'd get in the car and I'd wake up, we'd be like, in our destination. Yeah. Which we did. It just sucks for the parents.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, we have done it before, but then we've done it for ourselves.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Moving back home. I had to do it twice. But the uh the experience. I've never gone out towards where we're uh going. Branson, Missouri, Missouri.

SPEAKER_00

My family is like a lot of them are or were, I should say they've all moved, but like Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska. Like that's where we would like vacation.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my corn, corn stalks. Corn, corn on the left, corn on the right. Like when we went to Dubuque, Iowa with my sisters, my sister and brother-in-law, and we it was a great trip, you know, like under eight hours. Under like not under delivered. It overdelivered. Overdelivered.

SPEAKER_00

But like it wasn't under underpromised, overdelivered.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, underpromised, over-delivered for sure. Like we knew the general manager of the resort that we stayed at that's at Dubuque. He's not there anymore. He's at a place in Illinois now. But we had it the package was two different rooms, presidential suite rooms.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, we had like a room with like fireplace and like a water view.

SPEAKER_02

It was right along the Mississippi River. There was the history of the Mississippi River Museum, which was probably the Did we go there? Yeah, we went there. And then there was right across the street was a casino. There's bowling upstairs. We had a bowling package. Oh, yes, yes. We had uh casino credits. There was an arcade at the resort. I won the I won the tickets.

SPEAKER_00

We're just passing candy out to all the children.

SPEAKER_02

We had like breakfast each morning that was covered in like because I won it in an auction.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it was a good package.

SPEAKER_02

And then we went out to dinner with our um with my friend to a brewery, and he knew the guy that ran the brewery.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, yeah. And we just had everything off the appetizer menu.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and like it was we were like local celebrities for this, and it was insane. And then the guy took a liking to my sister. Meanwhile, my brother-in-law's there. Not our friend, not the friend. And he was cheering like my brother-in-law was like, Yeah, like let it like let him go ahead and flirt. Like the the guy, the guy that owned the brewery, um, very nice guy. Wasn't like the most attractive male out there.

SPEAKER_00

Like job of the hut, but in human form.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, super nice, but like he was a he was the good version of Job of the Hut. And he just kept bringing us drinks, kept bringing us appetizers, and then we had to drive the next day. But on our way to Dubuque, we went to Chicago first to visit your sister, it spent a day there, drove to Iowa, and there was just corn. Once you get out of the Chicago city limits and are heading to Dubuque, Iowa, there's a couple like little spots of little towns. Corn. It's called Big Hump of Knobs. As the juice.

SPEAKER_00

I do remember that. I I am excited for this trip and the fact of like where we're going is somewhere neither of us have ever been. We'll be on the water, we'll be on a lake.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. We will this comes out after the fact. So hopefully we actually like the drive went well both ways.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Kids are weren't like, are we there yet? This is taking so long. Like we aren't driving through the day.

SPEAKER_00

Partially.

SPEAKER_02

Partially through the day and then gonna try to like muster it up both like on the way and on the way back. On the way back, we're gonna predominantly drive through the night.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Well, just we'll see, I guess.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, we'll figure it out.

SPEAKER_00

Depends on when we leave. But I feel like I've been doing a lot of preparing. I got the snacks, we got all the games, all the activities for the car, things to like try to entertain the kids.

SPEAKER_02

So yeah, you bought them something and then instantly they're playing with it. Like we gotta put that to the side so that's I was showing them it. Yeah, get them excited, so it re-debuws itself whenever they we hit the road. Yeah, I've got a lineup of activities that I'm just gonna be feeding them. So hopefully. Like they're not at the age yet, but I remember like doing the state plate game, like finding all the different state plates, yeah, or the alphabet game.

SPEAKER_00

I feel like in three or four years they'll be able to participate in that kind of stuff.

SPEAKER_02

We can play it if you want.

SPEAKER_00

Sure. I think I'm gonna listen to some podcasts. That's what I like to do when I drive.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. But like, well, I like to differentiate. Yeah. Like a podcast for an hour or two hours, not our own. No. Though if you do listen to it, thank you very much. But I can't listen to it. I'm not gonna listen to myself drive. We can we come up with ideas when we drive sometimes.

SPEAKER_00

We we chat, we banter.

SPEAKER_02

And then I'll switch back into a genre of music, go back to a podcast, genre music podcast. Like I don't need this, I don't need a podcast the whole drive. That'll put me to sleep. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

But I do like it. Like if say you're gonna take a little snooze and then I'm gonna be driving alone. I'm like, yeah, I'm gonna put this podcast on so I can hear. There you go. And like keep myself busy, but good luck to us. We'll report back on the next episode of how it actually was. My hopes are high. All right, we're gonna dive into the story. Has nothing to do with a road trip, really. There is like a little getaway at a lake resort. So I guess maybe it ties together with what's going on in our life. My wife and I listen to your stories daily, and I realized that we have one to submit. Not exactly a wedding story, but an engagement and proposal story, and how my mother-in-law overstepped quite a few times and basically ruined the engagement before and during. Lovely. I am still salty, even though this happened in 2018, but my mother-in-law, we'll call her Linda, stole the joy away from my engagement and my proposal to my wonderful wife, Lindsay. That's also not her name. I knew Lindsay was the one about one month into dating. We had so much fun getting to know each other. And when I met her family, I could see why she maybe kept her distance and preferred to be away from them. But I also loved how excited they were to meet me. They welcomed me with open arms. My family was also very welcoming, but not so overwhelming. We are a very laid-back bunch. Linda was the head of the HOA, working all the social circles, needs to be the spotlight type of person where my family could care less as long as we're happy and healthy. I get the picture.

SPEAKER_02

It's HOA right there. HOA head.

SPEAKER_00

In everybody's business.

SPEAKER_02

Thank goodness I'm not. Yeah. Like I always sometimes it throws shows up on my algorithm of very like particular HOA people. Yeah. Not me. Cannot be me. Couldn't be me.

SPEAKER_00

I bought a ring in December of 2017, and I told Lindsay's parents when I was asking for their blessing of our marriage, which of course they blessed. It was a mistake doing this right before Christmas because Linda then assumed I was proposing on Christmas Day. The whole month she was blowing up my phone that I had to hide alerts from her. And Lindsay was very weirded out why her mom was texting me constantly. I told her it was nothing. But every day I got a new text. Hey, you could do it at the next get together. What about Christmas Eve? We could plant it in the tree for Christmas morning. She hosted this huge elevated holiday dinner, even though I said I was not going to be proposing then, and that I was planning on doing the proposal on our anniversary at the lake. We took our first trip together. And then when I did not propose at the dinner, she was disappointed it did not happen. I could not understand why she would not let it go. New Year's Eve passed, and I did not propose then either. Her mom knew this, but again, was so disappointed in me and started making comments like, She ain't getting any younger. It's now or never. It was annoying to say the least. I already knew exactly when I was doing it. The trip was already scheduled for May 1st at the Lake Resort. I spent months saving up. I got us a beautiful room with the balcony. I booked us the fancy dinner on the water, champagne. I hired the photographer and even got massages booked for the weekend. It was going to be the best weekend of our lives until our wedding day happened. I feel like a lot of parents get like that. Gotta snagger up. You've been dating for so long. TikTok, hurry up.

SPEAKER_02

I feel like it's like the like weird aunt and uncle that more so say it like, you're next. When are you doing it?

SPEAKER_00

When's it happening? Like soon. Especially like I've I mean, when you buy the ring, you're planning it out. Like you know it's gonna happen. And then you have all these people making comments. It's like, oh because you reveal to people that you have the ring.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. And you do let them know. Did he not share her to her when he was doing it, or was she just like gung-ho that it was gonna happen on her terms?

SPEAKER_00

She was it seems from this that they sh he shared the news he got the ring, then his her mom wanted him to do it during Christmas.

SPEAKER_02

But did he share that he was doing it in May? Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I had already told her he didn't say the time, but he said we're doing it on our anniversary at the lake. So she should have known when the anniversary was, or maybe she didn't know didn't realize when it was. Yeah. But she was pushing for it to happen then. Happen, and it did not happen at Christmas, and it did not happen at New Year's. So there's still another four months, five months until this trip. Okay, back into it. I'm sure that Lindsay anticipated that the engagement was coming, but I tried not to give any hints. I really wanted it to be the surprise of a lifetime for her. In order to do this, I really told no one the details of the weekend, not even my parents. But the week before we left for the trip, Lindsay made a comment about how much closer she has gotten with her family since we got together, and she was very, very happy about it. So I decided to share the details with them. All I said was, hey, I'm planning to propose around 5 30 p.m. out on the lawn tomorrow, and then we are headed to dinner after. If anyone wants to stop by after dinner to congratulate us, 8 p.m. would be great. We should be wrapping up dinner by then. I shared the exact same details with my parents. They opted to send two bottles of champagne to our room instead. I wasn't mad about that. But let's just see what her parents did. The resort was an hour and a half away, so I anticipated them maybe wanting to come, but probably not. But Linda responded so quickly that they would be there. I left it at that. I shared the address of the resort and nothing else. I figured the next day they would text me beforehand and we would FaceTime them after we got engaged to share the news. I honestly never anticipated what would play out next. Around 3 p.m., I was very I'm restarting that. Around 3 p.m., I am nervous as ever. We arrived at the resort and I see a bunch of texts coming in a chat. And the first is a picture of her mom in an all-white dress smiling, and it says, 2.5 hours and counting, we are on our way. Then her sister wrote in the chat, mom, delete that. And then the chat went quiet. Lindsay texted back 2.5 hours until what? Where are you going dressed up like that? And literally no one responded. I was about to poop my pants. Like, why would the mom send that in the chat? Oh gosh. You blew it. Luckily, we got into the room and had other things to do to occupy our time, and she didn't bring it up. I did notice her nails were done, which was the one thing I asked her friend to make sure was done. 5 30 p.m. rolls around, and I popped the question. It was a relief to say the least, a blur in my mind, but she said yes. We have literally just kissed, and I slid the ring on her finger, and her mom comes running out of the bushes screaming, jumping up and down like she just won a million dollars. It was a lot. She then asked the photographer to take photos of her and Lindsay, and then asked for a solo shot of her, and then one with her and her husband. It is what it is, but this was supposed to be an engagement shoot for the two of us. We asked them to step out so we can continue on and we'd part ways. While we are walking near the water, about five minutes before our dinner, in the final few minutes of our photo time with the photographer, we are interrupted again by her mother running down the hill towards us, saying she fixed the reservation so we could all sit together. I again did not invite them to the dinner, but to come to celebrate with us after. I really wanted this moment just for us. Due to the size being now a party of four, they had to shift us to the corner of the restaurant instead of the waterfront high cocktail table I had booked. Again, it is what it is. Lindsay was happy and so was I. The dinner was fine. Her mom kept shouting and cheering, my daughter's getting married and bombarding us with a hundred wedding questions. She was going on and on about how grand the wedding was going to be and all of the plans that she had for us. And at the end of the dinner, her mom split the bill. The least you could do for crashing our engagement dinner is foot the bill. When we went to say goodnight, we told them to drive home safe, and they revealed that they booked the weekend to stay and celebrate with us. Again, way too much. Luckily, we had our massage the next day and we rented bikes to ride around and did not see much of them, and we did breakfast with them on our final day. I didn't explain to Lindsay the original plan I had until the weekend was over and we were driving back home. And we had a pretty good laugh about it because deep down she said that she felt the exact same way about her mom just showing up out of the bushes and tagging along. I felt relieved that we were on the same page. Safe to say, we ended up eloping and told no one. Both sets of parents were over the moon, but you could tell Lindsay's mom was a bit upset she didn't get to plan the wedding of her dreams. Man. I just like I feel like a lot of people when they're getting engaged, they anticipate it's coming. Or they might have like a clue.

SPEAKER_02

Like a get your nails done. I feel like that's getting your nails done.

SPEAKER_00

You're like, if your partner's like wear a white dress or like wear something nice, wear nice little butt pants. Like, why are we having a photo shoot? Like maybe she didn't know about the photographer.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, when there's like a photographer, you're going to a place that oh, it's our anniversary and we're going to a lake resort.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. They're like you might have a clue that it's coming.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

But for the mom to send in the chat.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, yeah. She probably knew right then and then.

SPEAKER_00

Like she probably saw it and was like, oh.

SPEAKER_02

It might be happening.

SPEAKER_00

I would have been mad. Especially like this guy seemed like he went like did a lot for the proposal. Some people don't do anything and it's like they proposed at their house, or it's like more of an intimate moment than like a more grand gesture, which is fine.

SPEAKER_02

And some people want it just the couple and they want to like they want to do their thing, which is great that the mom's happy and she wanted to be there for her daughter, which I completely understand. But realizing that the plans were in motion of, hey, here's what we're doing, and here's when we're all gonna get together. Don't force yourself into things. There's a lot of parents, I feel like, that put themselves too involved with marriage and we're like with the with the engagement with the wedding.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

It's like when you're like involved with an engagement like that.

SPEAKER_00

It's one thing if you're hosting it or planning it, but like this guy planned the whole thing and was like, hey, we should be wrapping up at eight. If you want to like be a part and celebrate with us, stop by after dinner, and then they show up for the engagement.

SPEAKER_02

Don't assert yourself into the situation as well.

SPEAKER_00

Like no self-awareness from the parents' standpoint. Yeah. And like the husband is just like baby. Yeah. And if you the husband's just there to be there.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Sorry.

SPEAKER_00

Mom said, Mom booked this. Yeah, we're here for the weekend.

SPEAKER_02

Or like hiding in the bushes.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, I can't imagine that. I mean, I can, but I'm like, that would suck if you if you were envisioning like a pr a private proposal, this photo shoot, go to dinner, have this nice dinner. And then the mom and dad are just like, hey, we're here. We got our we're gonna sit with you too. And his parents like sent champagne, like, probably like, congratulations, we're so happy for you. And then the other parents are like there breathing down your neck.

SPEAKER_02

Nice. Absolutely not. Yeah. When I proposed, it was we were living away, and we were it was just the plan we were going up for the weekend because it was like our homecoming. Homecoming. And it was actually not your uncle's not like this, and your aunt, but we they all came to like they went to Jekyll Island and then they went to visit us when we lived in Amelia Island. Oh yeah. And you guys were all swimming. I remember your uncle Dan was asking, like, are you gonna like so? Like, you guys have been living together? Are you gonna like pop the question? And it's I was like, I think it's gonna happen. Like soon, I don't have like a date sent. And it might have been a week or two later. That's like when I figured, like, yeah, this is gonna happen. And then we made the trip plan. I was like, now I have a date set. So I lied, like, lied to you completely on had your parents lie too.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, because I got really upset.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, because we were saying like to visit, like go stop and see them, whatever, and your mom said she had work, she had work and like stuff going on, and they were but you thought the surprise first was them surprising you at the time.

SPEAKER_00

First I thought it was our friends, and then I thought it was my family like being at dinner because they lied to me. Like I really I really was clueless.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and then uh thankfully you said yes because it was all of our close friends, your family, my family. It was a big group, big group, and I popped the question. Like, please I figured you were gonna say yes, but I wasn't gonna say no. Like uh, I hope she does because this will be really awkward for everybody.

SPEAKER_00

It's like I don't ever really want to envision, I don't ever really want to see someone propose and then the person say no, but I would also really love to be like in the room. Like I don't really want to know the people.

SPEAKER_02

I feel like a lot of the times you see those online and they might be staged.

SPEAKER_00

I think they're always staged. Like I feel like anybody I don't think that gets shared when it's like no a true one.

SPEAKER_02

What was the company retreat? Oh my god, that was so funny. I also like you eventually like, yeah, this can't be shared. It's embarrassing.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I feel like a lot of people, if they were in the predicament that maybe they want to say no, that they might just say yes because of like public eyes on them, yeah, and then in private be like, listen, this is not it. Like, I am not marrying you. Like, I'm sure that scenario plays out a lot more than a public proposal, and then the person being like, No.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Oh my.

SPEAKER_00

I probably have a story of that, and I I'm gonna look up like I probably have one in my inbox as somebody that did that. Like said yes, but then really was like, you know what, no.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I don't want to do it actually.

SPEAKER_00

Sorry. No, but like anybody that didn't want to embarrass the other person would probably do that. Yeah. Like let it play out, and then in private be like, here, no, I can't do that. Can't be doing that.

SPEAKER_02

Thankfully, everyone has been a hundred percent on proposal asking that we know. Yeah. All right, our next segment. This is another new one. It's similar to what we've done before, like the wedding you rather. This is would you rather but worse? Okay, I'm ready. Would you rather always have wet socks or always have a pebble in your shoe?

SPEAKER_00

Those are both terrible. I think I'm gonna go with a pebble in my shoe. Like I feel like when you wear wet socks, you get blisters.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Like over time.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, like if you have wet shock socks and wet shoes. The pebble, it's like maybe you might be able to wiggle it. I don't think I'll be able to wiggle it around.

SPEAKER_02

It would be irritating. I think I can I can walk better with wet feet.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

But I can't walk whenever I have a pebble in my shoe, it instantly has to come out.

SPEAKER_00

Maybe can I change to wet socks?

SPEAKER_02

You can do whatever you want. This isn't for any points.

SPEAKER_00

Swap over to wet socks. All right.

SPEAKER_02

Would you rather sneeze every time you laugh or hiccup every time you talk?

SPEAKER_00

Sneeze.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I hate hiccups, and like you can't get rid of them.

SPEAKER_02

Right, yeah. It's one of my least favorite things.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Is hiccups. Because I feel like they don't go away like as quickly as I want them to. Where a sneeze, like like honestly, like a sneeze isn't that bad. No, multiple sneezes are bad. I'm like, get the sneeze attack. Yeah, the sneeze attack happens. I'm like, I can't. It's usually allergy season when that happens. Yeah. Once I hit the third sneeze, I'm over it. But if I just Sneezing once when I laugh. It's like a fun quirk.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and it might just hide into the laugh. People might not even notice it.

SPEAKER_02

They were like, hey, do you notice that Cassie? You notice that Cassie sneezes every time she laughs? Like, I don't know if I have to bless her or laugh along. Would you rather be 30 minutes early or 30 minutes late?

SPEAKER_00

30 minutes early.

SPEAKER_02

For at the like for what is the main Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I mean, like, I feel like if you're talking about most things and you say 30 minutes late, that could be very rude if you're thinking about like a meeting.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Going to dinner, missing part of the movie, like 30 30 minutes late to a party that's like a big group. Great. I love to roll in 30 minutes early.

SPEAKER_02

Do not be 30 minutes early to a party that I say it's at a certain time. Because honestly, when it's set for like, let's say I'm having a party and hey, come at one o'clock, and you roll in at 12 30, I might not be ready for you.

SPEAKER_00

We had that happen recently. We won't name names.

SPEAKER_02

Won't name names, but like when I give you a time, that doesn't mean that you have to come early.

SPEAKER_00

It wasn't like 30 minutes early. It was like almost an hour early.

SPEAKER_02

It might have been over an hour.

SPEAKER_00

Party was not set. We were scrambling.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Like, I'm not ready. I had no makeup. My hair wasn't done. What's going on?

SPEAKER_02

I get that we're not as close, but for a drive for you, but it's not going to be longer than when you showed up. Like if you were just planning on like, what if I hit traffic? You're not going to hit traffic enough to be an hour early. And like sorry, it was on a weekend.

SPEAKER_00

Stop at the gas station. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Stop at a bar if you prefer that too. Would you rather only be able to whisper or only be able to shout?

unknown

Oh.

SPEAKER_02

I feel like whisper.

SPEAKER_00

I can't even barely whisper.

SPEAKER_02

I'm thinking like the pitch perfect person.

unknown

Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I cut my sister in the womb. I don't know. I feel like I'm a loud person, so like I would.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, you kind of are.

SPEAKER_00

Like when you start You're always like talk quieter. I'm like, I am talking.

SPEAKER_02

I'm not always like, like, I'm like, why are you talking so loud? I'm right here. Like that's usually what it is. Like, I we're I'm right next to you. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I have a loud, a louder voice, I would say.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. So you probably wouldn't mind shouting. If you're like shouting all the time for your voice, I feel like that'd be more annoying than a whisper. Like, oh, they're just quiet. When they're shouting, like they're annoying.

SPEAKER_00

I think whisper would be the right answer for 10.

SPEAKER_02

Whisper for 10. Whisper for 10. That awards you 10 points. Would you rather never use air conditioning again? You're in Europe, or never use heat again? This is like for Europeans. I mean, they use heat, I think, maybe. They don't use air conditioning. We have a blessing over here.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_02

I would prefer. I know I asked you the question. I would prefer to never use heat again. Because I can just blanket myself up. I was gonna say the same.

SPEAKER_00

Like you can layer your clothes and make a fire. Correct. Like the air conditioning thing would be so tough.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Like summertime, there are they I'm sure they don't listen to this podcast, so maybe not get shared. Maybe I will just cut this out. But there's a neighbor on our street that's like it was the first the first time I think they ever turned their air conditioning on was early July when it was a real fill of like 110.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, they have their windows.

SPEAKER_02

But other than that, like it's the windows are open. I grew up with a window AC. And for maybe the first 10 years, I grew up with no AC, and I don't know how I survived.

SPEAKER_00

Me neither. I feel very spoiled. Like when our air conditioning was like maybe on the Fritz for a hot minute, I was stressed.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Do you know why I was on the Fritz? Because I turned it down. You turned it down and it was only like 70 degrees outside. It was like the first hot day of the year.

SPEAKER_00

Sweating, I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

And you turned it down. I'm like, this is why it broke. This is exactly like it's fixable, but it was fixable.

SPEAKER_00

Thank you, Steve.

SPEAKER_02

And me. And you. Would you rather have dishes in the sink or laundry to fold?

SPEAKER_00

Laundry to fold.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I feel like laundry is easier. Yeah, laundry's easier to like get done. I feel like if there's a heap a heaping amount of things in the sink.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I feel like that's maybe a pet peeve of yours. Like if there's a lot of dishes in the sink. Yeah, if there's just a few amount of things. It also could smell, depending on what you ate, or like if you were cooking something and then it's sitting in there, then it like makes the space smell a certain way. So I would rather just have laundry sitting but all the dishes be done.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Like I and if I if I'm having laundry sitting and it wrinkles up, that's what an iron is for. What a what what is the other thing called? What do we have? What? Steamer. Steamer. I don't know why I wasn't thinking of the word steamer. But yeah. I don't want my laundry to be sitting there for a while. Like some I always try to like set a point in my mind of if it takes less than five minutes, just do it now. Don't let it linger.

SPEAKER_01

I need to do it. I need that mindset.

SPEAKER_02

So like when I get my like my laundry's being done as we're here, it's in the dryer, it's done, it's sitting. By the time we get back, it's wrinkled. But when I get it out of the dryer and I take it upstairs, sometimes I'm like, I really don't want to do this right now. I'm like, it's not gonna take me longer than five minutes to do. So just like do it now, and now you don't have to worry about it later.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and I'm the opposite. I like bring my stuff up and it will sit for like three days.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And then I'm like, I gotta put this away.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

But it comes to a sink, unless I'm making like we have a really big breakfast or lunch. I usually just like do the dishes once a day. Like some stuff goes in the dishwasher, some stuff gets washed with hands with uh scrub daddy by and being scrubbed by daddy. No free ads. No free ads scrub daddy. What? If you want a sponsor. Would you rather have a roommate who sings constantly or one who never stops talking? Rather have a singer.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I feel like we're both of those. A yapper and a singer.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, you're the yapper, I'm the singer. Yeah, goodness. I wouldn't mind being the kids.

SPEAKER_00

Tyson started singing stuff.

SPEAKER_02

He's a singer when it comes to like doing like I'll I'll make up my own lyrics to stuff, and he's starting to do the same thing.

SPEAKER_00

I noticed that the other day.

SPEAKER_02

One on the left and one on the right. Yeah. I would prefer a singer. Only if they can sing decent, they can hold a pitch, a tune. Oh, this one. I know my answer, but would you rather never eat fries again or never eat pizza again?

SPEAKER_00

Fries.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Pizza's too good.

SPEAKER_02

Like there's never such a thing as a bad pizza. There are such things as bad fries. So I can go without fries, but I can't go without pizza.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, pizza's so good.

SPEAKER_02

Like it's been over a week for me on pizza.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, you're gonna probably get pizza though at your bachelor trip that you're on.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, guaranteed at some point. I might have to get pizza tonight. Pizza tonight. Pizza tonight. Would you rather only eat cold food or only eat spicy food?

SPEAKER_00

Oh, I do not like spice, so I'm gonna pick cold food, even though that would suck.

SPEAKER_02

I like warm food. There are really good cold foods, and typically the cold foods don't give me as much stomach issues as a spicy food would. If I'm only eating spicy food, like I will probably blow another hole in my butt.

SPEAKER_00

The toilet will be very sad.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, the toilet will have major issues with me. Would you rather vacuum every day or clean toilets every day? That's an easy one.

SPEAKER_00

Vacuum.

SPEAKER_02

Vacuum.

SPEAKER_00

I don't even like vacuuming, but I do not like cleaning the toilets either.

SPEAKER_02

No, not after even having spicy food. Like that's bad. Bad, bad, bad, bad. Yeah, that's an easy answer. It's definitely vacuuming every day. I kind of like find peace in vacuuming. And the kids are like a nice clean house after the fact.

SPEAKER_00

You're too loud, I can't hear. What's going on? I'm like, it's 10 minutes. It's not even.

SPEAKER_02

If we're doing the whole house, if it's just the living room and kitchen. Five minutes. If it's five minutes or less, you can get it done.

SPEAKER_00

I'm gonna start using the advice.

SPEAKER_02

Would you rather have an itch that you can't scratch or always feel like you have to sneeze? Oh they both suck. Both are terrible. Um like an itch that you can't stra scratch is irritating, but like the sensation of sneezing.

SPEAKER_00

I would say the itch that you can't scratch.

SPEAKER_02

Find a wall.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and or it will like eventually go away. But the sneeze, it's like sometimes I can't even like focus or talk because I'm like, I'm about to sneeze. Like I can't imagine having that all the time.

SPEAKER_02

Like that uh, like the peekaboo, not a peekaboo sneeze, but like a sneeze that doesn't come. Yeah, but you feel it coming, you get mad.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, you're like, just get out. Yeah. What the hell's you were there?

SPEAKER_02

You were there a second ago. Where'd you go?

SPEAKER_00

Is that the term peekaboo sneeze?

SPEAKER_02

No, it's not the term at all. That's not it. It's like a a fake out sneeze. Okay. Yeah, a fake out, a peekaboo sneeze. I know it's a peekaboo sneeze would be a sneeze out of nowhere. Like the worst kind of sneeze that like actually happens, it's not the like multiple sneezes, it's the sneeze when you're driving.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and your eyes closed.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, you're like, this is it. This is how I go.

SPEAKER_00

Hopefully, hopefully I'll be okay.

SPEAKER_02

Like if I'm on the turnpike and I'm hitting a an exit where people are coming on to traffic and the sneeze is approaching. What if that sneeze is like the split second decision where someone decides to not abide by the yield and comes into my lane and now that sneeze has turned into a major pile up?

SPEAKER_00

You can hope that doesn't happen.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I hope that I don't sneeze. All right. That is the last one. Alright, next segment is we are in the hot seat. These seats are hot. We're gonna ask each other five questions, and you have to answer truthfully, no matter the question. Okay. I have five for you, as I stated. So, Cassie, you will go first on the questions. Well, you're gonna I'm gonna ask questions, you're gonna answer. I'll be answering. First one I have for you is what is the weirdest thing a fan has ever messaged you?

SPEAKER_00

I get some weird messages. I've gotten a lot. Like some are very mean, some are very nice, some are just like, oh, so nice to meet you. The weirdest one I ever got was somebody messaged me, and I've had like three people actually message me. So I'm thinking like maybe this is like uh something people focus on. But it was like the message was I love watching your lips when you talk. There's something special about the way with your dialect, like the way that I talked, and then the way my mouth moved, but it was like very creepy to me. I was like, I like I said, I've received it more than one time, but it must be like I don't know, something that people notice maybe when you're watching videos online. But I'm like, who takes their time out to message someone?

SPEAKER_02

Talk about that, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I was like, oh, and then one time I addressed it on my TikTok, and the person commented, I didn't mean it to be weird. And I was like, Well, it was.

SPEAKER_02

It was to me.

SPEAKER_00

It was like not perception, yeah. I was like, ooh.

SPEAKER_02

Whoops. Was it a man?

SPEAKER_00

No.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, well then, yeah. But like if a female, not saying, but like a female saying that to me.

SPEAKER_00

I should say this.

SPEAKER_02

The message I share saying my lip your lips move nicely. If a man's saying that, that's creepy.

SPEAKER_00

The message I shared on my page was one from a man, but a girl commented on it and was like, oh my gosh, I sent something similar. I didn't mean it in a creepy way.

SPEAKER_02

You got the lips up.

SPEAKER_00

But I was just angel. That's an interesting thing to say to someone, I would say.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. How many like times do you get like creepos on their messages?

SPEAKER_00

A lot. There's like I have messages that I don't open, and you know they're like bots or like they'll be like, I'll be your sugar daddy for $8,000 a month.

SPEAKER_02

I'm like, I'm like, wait a second. You might be onto something.

SPEAKER_00

Like, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

You might need to respond to that one. What is the most embarrassing thing that you have ever done in public?

SPEAKER_00

I recently was talking about this story with someone, and it's when I danced competitively in high school, and I was dancing a solo, and it was my senior year, and in my solo there was a chair, like similar to what we're sitting in, with like a hard armrest. And in the dance, I was supposed to like jump back into the chair. The dance was to breathe me by Sia, if you know the song. But I jumped back in the chair, and then I was supposed to like land in the chair, and then I like melted down from the chair. When I jumped back, I was very airborne and I just came down. Like I miscalculated the direction of bouncing back. And I just like my crotch landed on the armrest really hard, and it hurt very bad. But like, I'm still trying to perform my solo. I have like 20 seconds left in the dance, and I had to literally like hobble off the stage. Like, if I could imagine what it feels like to get hit in the nuts, like I don't know that sensation. This was probably the equivalent. Like, I had tear coming out of my eye, and there was hundreds of people watching. It was very stage, and like I was crying, not from like the embarrassment, because I guess it like didn't embarrass me that much, but that like what happened because it wasn't like, oh, you got all out of it. So when like people were coming up later, like, hey, were you are you okay?

SPEAKER_02

I was just like that. That would have hurt me.

SPEAKER_00

It was it was embarrassing to the point of like dang, a lot of people saw that.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, like yikes. There was a video recently similar, not similar, that like, but it was a uh this it's another podcast. They were doing, they were golfing. One of the guys was like hitting a golf ball, and one of the that's she might be one of the producers. There's one that's like right in front of the golf cart, and then another girl's filming behind. Both of the girls were filming, guys hitting, and you can tell from the angle that this guy had that it was going straight for her, and you're like, because it even pinpointed, like the hole was that way, and he was facing the like 90 degrees different, and he hit the ball and it went straight at her. Oh right, straight at her crotch as well. That would have hurt, and she just went down. This is hysterical video, not maybe embarrassing for her, but like more embarrassing for the guy for like hitting it so bad. Yeah, why did he do that? I don't know, just gotta angle it differently. Clearly, he is not a good golfer, like me. What is something you always procrastinate doing? I think we just touched on this a little bit, but I would say house chores.

SPEAKER_00

I don't want to do them, I just don't.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I specify my days on like certain days I do certain things, type of thing, when it comes to house chores. When it comes to uh yeah, when it comes to laundry, I'm now you said it already, but yeah, you don't do it. I always you do it, but you get to it later.

SPEAKER_00

I do my clothes and the kids' clothes like at the same time. So it's a lot of laundry. It take I have to sort it, then I have to fold it, then I have to put three people's laundry away. And to me, that's overwhelming. Like compared to some of the other stuff that I have going on, it's like, okay, I'll get to that later. And then like a few days pass, and then I'm tripping over the basket. I'm like, yeah, I gotta put that.

SPEAKER_02

You start it, I'll switch it. Yeah, you switch it for me, but just bring it up, and then it just kind of sits there in the basket.

SPEAKER_00

I'd say like it's a normal two-day sitting time. Yeah. Like it is something that I do not want to do ever.

SPEAKER_02

Advice I just said, if it's less than five minutes, well, it's like that's a little bit longer.

SPEAKER_00

It probably takes 15 minutes. Yeah. Well, it's a big chunk of my day.

SPEAKER_02

If it takes 15 minutes, you can do it. Uh, number four, two more questions for you. Which movie is your comfort movie?

SPEAKER_00

Princess Diaries. Which Princess Diaries 1. One is my comfort movie. I also would say Princess Diaries 2's a very close second.

SPEAKER_02

I like also like Miss Congeniality.

SPEAKER_00

Miscongeniality used to be like one of my comfort movies. I don't watch it as much. I would say Parent Trap is Lindsay Lohan. Yeah, the Lindsay Lohan one. Those three, like I will I will always put those on. Or honestly, Marvel's first Avenger, Captain America. I put that one on a lot. It's not like a comfort movie, but I like to go see that.

SPEAKER_02

You would probably pause it when he turns into Captain America. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Ooh.

SPEAKER_02

Ooh, my. I'm gonna parental control that movie now. Last one. Did you have a favorite toy as a child?

SPEAKER_00

Okay, so me and my friends had a lot of Bratz dolls. So I would say like Bratzdolls were at like the end of my toy era. So that, but I did have a favorite lovey or stuffy, Mr. Bun Bun. And I had him till I was too old. Like I was probably in the fifth grade when I retired, Mr. Bun Bun. But that thing was like raggedy. Its ears were like all holy, and my mom had to sew outfits on it because its body just the stuffing was coming out.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I didn't have a stuffy growing up. I wasn't in the brats as well, but I was into similar.

SPEAKER_00

I'm surprised you weren't into Bratz.

SPEAKER_02

Like I would have like I didn't have a particular toy, but like when I was in my imaginary toy phase, like building storylines and such. Like I had that classic gray castle that every kid had in the 90s. You probably might have had it, maybe not. But um, I had like my G.I. Joe's and my Dragon Ball Z characters and a couple other, like they were all in the same plot line that I created for myself.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And like some some were like I feel like if I were able to go back and like video record, I bet I came up with a couple good movies out of it. It was like it was like Marvel Avengers, but like all of the superheroes and villains coming together, but not Marvel characters. I didn't really have Marvel action figures growing up.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, me and my friends were like making movies with the Bratz dolls, like they were dating each other's boyfriends, and it was like very dramatic. And I feel very lucky though that I played with toys until like, like I said, I was probably older than I should have been. Like I had a very much creative child play childhood.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Where like nowadays I feel like people stop playing with toys so early. Like I played with toys and I collected them and I was having a lot of people.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know when I stopped.

SPEAKER_00

I think you're like seventh, eighth grade. You stop probably. Nowadays it's probably like fifth grade.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I might have been like fifth grade. I was I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

I was probably sixth grade, seventh grade.

SPEAKER_02

Like it's like I just don't remember the last time I like played with my toys with my storyline. Like, what what did I end with?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, what was that scene?

SPEAKER_02

Like maybe I was just like, I gotta get to the end. Like, I'm kind of getting over this. Like, but what was the reason? What happened? What happened to my characters?

SPEAKER_00

You grew up. It's sad.

SPEAKER_02

Like, well then like, you know, like there are some toys that my mom saved that my kids toys. Well, she your mom saved all your toys. The thing is, though, there's toys that were a part of my storyline that don't exist, like, don't reside at my parents' house unless they're really in storage.

SPEAKER_00

Or maybe they got put in the trash.

SPEAKER_02

My top tier toys that I would use are nowhere to be found when we come back. Probably in that shoebox. Yeah. They were with my um we go and my mom brings out all the toys. I was also like a NASCAR avid collector, and I would watch the NASCAR races on Sunday. And every Sunday, like I would line I had the cars in the race lined up in front of the TV, but I was a huge Chef Gordon fan. So no matter the standings of the race, Jeff Gordon was always in first, and my dad was a big Del Earnhardt fan, and Del Earnhardt was always in last. And this is non-toy related, but when Del Earnhardt passed away at the Daytona 500, it was a very somber day in my house. When the news struck, but when the new whenever the accident happened, I probably was the happiest I've ever been in my life knowing that Del Earnhardt got in an accident because my like that was like me and my dad's thing is like rooting for the different drivers. And then like it came out that he passed away. I'm like, I feel bad how excited I was about him getting in a wreck.

SPEAKER_00

And yeah, well, you didn't know you were also a child.

SPEAKER_02

10 years old.

SPEAKER_00

I also watched that documentary, remember? I was crying. Yeah. That was reverse.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, like, I when I go back on it, not to say I don't want to didn't wish I would go back and change my childhood, but I wish I gave a little little bit of credit to Dale.

SPEAKER_00

No old Dale. All right, you're in the hot seat now. You ready? I'm I'm trying. Okay. What was your dream job when you were 10?

SPEAKER_02

As every boy when they were 10. I 10 years old would be would pin me what, like in second or third grade? Third, fourth grade. Third, fourth. Definitely thought I was gonna be the next NBA basketball player. I thought I was gonna be a big one. I thought I would like my one of my teachers used to call me Larry Bird.

SPEAKER_00

I know him from The Last Dance.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Like I I thought that's where my career trajectory was heading. I'm like, I won my rec league basketball championship back in that era. Like I was good. So I thought.

SPEAKER_00

I love that freaking.

SPEAKER_02

Clearly, not a basketball player now. Did not have anything that I did as a profession in mind. Like if it wasn't gonna be a basketball player, it would have been baseball, football, that would have been it. Like, not even like being an actor, being a movie star, being a singer. Those weren't in the category. It was athlete, MBA particular. I was like big on MBA.

SPEAKER_00

I thought I was gonna be dancing on Broadway, so our paths did not.

SPEAKER_02

Like whenever I like my um I played basketball so much in my house, like my dad put a rim up on the one side of our place playground. And then one summer, well like I tore up the backyard. It was like this one area that was flat. It tore up the backyard. Like there was mud everywhere. So I would play in the rain. I thought I was going places with it. I just trained. But then we got a small pool, and then next to the pool, he put a concrete basketball court in my backyard with a new hoop, no mud. And like from the time I stopped living there to the time that when that thing got created, to the time I stopped living there, I probably played every day outside. And I would have friends over, we'd do little tournaments, we play different games with basketball. Still thought I was going places.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah in your mind. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Well, I think yeah, the same thing. Like I had like, I think that's when it changed. I was thinking when I stopped playing with my toys, it's when that basketball court got into existence. It was like a swap. Because then I would imagine myself like, I'm at the driving down the court games down by two. It's like that's how I beat Shaq, Aaron Carter.

SPEAKER_00

I'm thinking like Mike that moves.

SPEAKER_02

It's like boom, boom, put it in a hoop like slam. And I would just make up scenarios in my mind. Like, I just won the college basketball championship. I just got drafted. I'm heading to the pros. I'm lined up with Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, and we are the dynamic duo of the 2000s.

SPEAKER_00

I love that for you. I didn't know your love of basketball was that deep until right now. Okay. If you won the lottery, what are you spending your money on?

SPEAKER_02

Powerball. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

The powerball. Oh, when grandpa's watching the Powerball. The biggest amount of money. Let's say you win it. What are you spending your money on?

SPEAKER_02

I would buy well, I'm I would try to I'm gonna say that I would be smart with it and pay off all my debts.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

That would be the first thing. But once I wanted to buy like a fancy something, I would buy a yacht.

SPEAKER_00

Ooh.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. And then you can just like travel around the different places and buy by boat. Smart. Like going, like joining cool clubs. Then you like get memberships at those clubs, get the golf, get to play basketball on concrete hoops.

SPEAKER_00

On nice feet.

SPEAKER_02

Well, like you know, obviously buy a nice house, get some fancy cars, put some money aside for the kids, buy my parents something, buy your parents something, maybe something small, like a floral arrangement.

SPEAKER_00

I feel like I feel like if you talk to my mom about winning the lottery, she literally writes it out on a piece of paper what she would do with everything.

SPEAKER_02

She likes it. I don't know what I would do with that kind of money. Like if I I always like I can't go an episode without Survivor, win a million dollars on Survivor, take taxes out, whatever, it's 600,000, whatever it ends up being, half of the amount. Having that allotment of money, I don't know what to do with myself if I just got a lump sum of money that's even in like the high six figures.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Like just like a million dollars would solve everything. 500 million dollars. Crazy. I don't know what to do with myself. I would buy an NBA franchise. I'd buy a franchise, I'd buy a football, like a not I can't buy a football franchise because they're like billions of dollars. But I'd buy like a WMBA team.

SPEAKER_00

I feel like I would buy property like for the kids, for ourselves to travel to, yeah, like rental.

SPEAKER_02

Like in a nice cabin.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Places to like just say we're gonna go to our place. We're gonna go to Aspen for the weekend, kids. People live like that. That's what I think is the craziest thing.

SPEAKER_00

It's like people do have money like that. Which it could be us one day. Who knows? Could be. Who knows? Um, what is one thing that you hate but everybody else loves?

SPEAKER_02

This isn't a direct attack. It's not directly at Swifties, okay? It's like I am just never fascinated with like celebrities. Like, I don't get whenever people are like, Did you hear about like Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey got married? Great. Honestly, I can care less. And I can care less like the amount of people like all these celebrities that got invited to it. Like, I don't care.

SPEAKER_00

Those are probably their friends. Yeah. It's like that's what industry they're in.

SPEAKER_02

I can know people get you know, I'm not obsessed with particular athletes. I'm fans of them, but I'm not stalking what they're doing with their everyday life. Yeah. Actors, actresses, singers, like when you're obsessed with like somebody that has a level of fame, it's weird. It's it's a little bit, it's a little bit pushy. It's a little bit aggressive. Probably need to tone it down a little bit. Like, don't make your per like part of your personality what you're a fan. Like being a fan of a person, being a fan of a team, or being a fan of a movie, I think is fine or a series.

SPEAKER_00

I think being a fan of someone is no problem. But when it's like you Your personality. Yes, when it's your whole thing and like you only travel around to go to their concerts, you only have their merch, you only like their music, I do think it's a little weird. Yeah, it's like obsessive.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, like even whenever like I like certain people's music, but then they might come out with an album that I'm like, hmm, that's really not that good.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

But like if I don't I'm not wanting to harp on the Swifties, but like I like some of her, I'm I like a lot of her music, actually. I'm not like a huge Swifty fan, but like there's a lot of good songs. I can think of ten, Bad Blood, one. I'm not gonna say all ten, but like it's like she she'll come out with an album, and then they're like inner, like there's things about her songs that Easter eggs. Easter eggs. I'm like, there probably isn't. You're just like diving too much. Maybe there are Easter eggs, but there's other people beyond Swifties for it. Like people that would watch like keeping up with the Kardashians. I don't care. People that watch Desperate Housewives, I don't care.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

I'm gonna not ask this next question since we just said we don't really like celebrities. We don't want to be able to do that. What is the question? It was what celebrity do you think you could actually be friends with? Like I thought.

SPEAKER_02

Like it's actually my biggest fan celebrity. I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

Like, do you want to answer it or not?

SPEAKER_02

I can answer it. That's this isn't someone I would like fan over. It's actually Taylor Swift. No. I yeah, Travis Kelsey. I don't know. Like I I think there's probably people that are genuine, so it's hard to say like this person might not be as might be a little disingenuous. I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

I can't define celebrity and like say I feel like you would pick somebody from the podcast that you listen to.

SPEAKER_02

Well that but are they celebrities?

SPEAKER_00

I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

I would consider them celebrities. Yeah, like I feel like people, yeah, like well, okay. I would say, yeah. Like part of my take, I think I would be good friends with like a big cat or PFT.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

But when it comes to celebrity, it's a guy that's a frequent uh guest on it. And he feels like he's on the podcast now, Jerry O'Connell.

SPEAKER_00

Oh yeah, we ran him to into him at the airport.

SPEAKER_02

I ran him into him at the airport, and I had like a moment of friendship with him for different instances. It started with I saw him on the he was in TSA pre-check. So he does have pre-check. Miami airport. This is not like five years ago. We're now friends on Twitter over this whole instance. We went to um, I checked my bag, went back. I was with somebody else. They did not have pre-check. I was like, sorry, I'm going to pre-check. No, it was somebody else. Went back to the pre-check line, and he was still like directly in front of me. He was like, You want to get a picture? I was like, Yeah, sure, whatever. Go through pre-check, whatever. I'm waiting for my friend. I go use the restroom. I'm using the restroom. And then he stands next to me. And then I was like, we can't. I was like, Jerry, we can't keep meeting like this. And like we had a moment together, and then like it was like it was a good time we had at the airport, him and I. And then we went off our separate ways. Maybe we'll get Jerry O'Connell on the podcast. He just had a movie that came out on Tubi or whatever. Like, you know, there's like it's probably really good.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know. I don't know what to do.

SPEAKER_02

You ever watch Kangaroo Jack?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Were you whenever the preview came out for Kangaroo Jack? Were you surprised that the Kangaroo did not talk at all?

SPEAKER_00

I don't remember. I don't I remember the movie, but like I gotta remember that.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, what's the plot line? I can't tell you because I would have I wanted to go see it so bad. I remember it was like one of those came out during Christmas, New Year's time, and I was adamant on going Kangaroo Jack. I feel like I saw it. Yeah. Couldn't tell you the plot though. Like it was always on like advertised on Nickelodeon. And I was a Nickelodeon kid more than a Disney kid until middle school, high school, and then I switched to converted to Disney. You see, like Lizzie McGuire, even Stevens. That might have been like fifth grade, Boy Meets World. But I was Nickelodeon before that and after too. But merged. Sorry. That's celebrity, Jerry O'Connell.

SPEAKER_00

Got it. What are your top three used emojis bonus points if you can act them out? I could tell you mine.

SPEAKER_02

Mine is probably the um eyeball one, like the side eye. Like ooh, because I'll get like texts about like getting together, like with like a friend, and I'm like, mm-hmm. Uh oh, let me just see. If I go to my emojis. Okay. First one is that. Eyes. Second one is the Zs, like sleeping Z's. Okay. And then the third one is the 100, and then it's like underline to underline.

SPEAKER_00

I feel like me and you don't use emojis when we text.

SPEAKER_02

I'm not an emoji guy, but I'm a those are if I use actually these are like probably the only three. I can also not to say about emojis, but I knew no one's people. A when people are posting a long-winded message, whether it's like an email or it's a post, and there's a voluntuous amount of emojis involved in it, you chat GPT did. Chat GPT loves it.

SPEAKER_00

I'm a big emoji user, but I'm not like a big ChatGPT winner. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Well, saying like when you chat GPT, ChatGPT gives you emojis. Like I know you're doing it. The other, not about emojis. Uh, we need people to stop making advertisements and like flyers from ChatGPT. They all look the same, they're all terrible.

SPEAKER_00

Pay $9.99 for the Canva account. Come on.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

It's not that bad.

SPEAKER_02

And be creative. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Chat GPT flyers.

SPEAKER_02

If you can't make your own flyers, hire somebody that knows how to do it or like ask somebody for a small fee. Yeah. Because I can't I can't take it anymore.

SPEAKER_00

Me neither.

SPEAKER_02

It's all over Facebook. It's all over Facebook. Like before it was always like political stuff that was going on Facebook. Now everybody has this enriched idea that they can put flyers of all the events they have happening. And it just takes the creativity away from people with those because they also it makes them look.

SPEAKER_00

I think this as a business owner, it makes them look cheap.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

They could not take the time to hire somebody or create something on their own, and instead they used typed it into chat GPT and it's not a flyer.

SPEAKER_02

Like all the details, and it just looks like throw up.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I'm with you on that. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

All right. Our last segment, VIP table. These are things that instantly make you feel old. Okay. I will go first for this one. This is whenever like I put on, like I'm looking at like release radar on Spotify, or there's a new song out. Like, I don't know any of the new artists that are on or like any new songs that are debuted.

SPEAKER_00

Me neither. Like, and most of them I'm like, I don't, I'm not vibing with this song. Yeah. It's not my cup of tea.

SPEAKER_02

It doesn't hit doesn't hit at all. Like I just can't, I can't do it. I'm like very particular. Like I listen to songs from an artist I already knew. But if it's somebody like brand new, unless they're really good, but like out. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Two things that make me feel instantly old. When a bunch of teens are using like their new lingo, like six, seven, skibbity. I'm like, yep. What is happening? Okay. So that's my first one. And my second one would be when I am talking about family, and I'm like, oh, my niece's son. I'm like, I'm old.

SPEAKER_01

Yep.

SPEAKER_02

I'm old.

SPEAKER_00

Some of our nieces and nephews are having children of their own.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. That is those are that's good picks. I have one similar. I'm not gonna this won't be a pick, but it's well, and I'll do that one maybe for my last pick. My next pick, hangovers.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, the worst.

SPEAKER_02

They're not they like just they're not just even like a morning, even if like you get them. Used, like I would get a hangover. Now they're like hangover weeks, not just like a hangover day.

SPEAKER_00

Three days to recover.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Like I can't, I can't do it like I used to. I ain't as good as I won't was. And then the other, this is more of like a like a nebby neighbor, but it's just like there's something going on outside, and like I'm peeking out of the window just to like neb on what's going out on outside the house. I feel like I'm just like an old person when I do that. Like, oh, did you see so-and-so got a new car? Like just noticing things around the street in the neighborhood that otherwise when I was younger, I would just like turn a blind eye to.

SPEAKER_00

I feel like I'm the same and going along, that's kind of like my parents. Things will be too loud.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Things are too loud. Like sometimes you have the TV on or like the kids are listening to something, and I'm like, turn it down. It's way too loud. Reminds me of my parents. And then my last one would just be um looking at my looking at our dogs.

SPEAKER_02

I'm like, oh god, they're old. Jesus. All right. My last one is like I couldn't go either or but it's seeing a movie that's out in theaters that's celebrating a 25th anniversary. And like I got I watched it when it was out for its first year. Like old. Other ones, it's like now the throwback TV stations, it's shows that I watched growing up. Um when like the phrases that you had, like they call you unk. Yeah. And you try to like play along with it. Um doing nothing, like that's a good plan for me back in the day. Like doing nothing, I'm like, I gotta be doing something. And then attempting to do something that whenever you were at a younger age, you can do it and not get sore, but now you're sore for days. Like we just went tubing, and once I got out of the tube, I was sore for days on end from it. So good picks. Good picks.

SPEAKER_00

All right. Well, that was it for this episode. If you have an interesting story, send it into infow at weddingprocast.com.

SPEAKER_02

All right, we'll see you next week.
