Welcome to the KBM Democracy News with Chris and Buzz on the State Your Peace channel. Today we're going to talk about the Iran war situation and a couple of disturbing posts by Donald Trump on this subject. Now, just a reminder, you're probably up to date on this, but so much is happening so fast with Trump that let's just review the background together. In June 2025, the United States and Israel did strategic bombings, and I'm going to stress that strategic bombings of nuclear enrichment facilities in Iran. Now, supposedly, after that provided the annihilation of Iran's nuclear program, and it was done with, all of that was done, all of a sudden we have on February 28th, about six weeks ago, Trump and Israel bomb Iran in the middle of peace talks. And this is important to stress, I believe, that these targets were basically we have civilians injured, we have military and governmental targets hit in this. This just started about six weeks ago, unlike the strike in June, that just focused on strategic nuclear enrichment facilities. Now let's go to a post by Trump that came out on Easter that I'd like to read to you, and then we'll get some reactions. And here is the post by Donald Trump on True Social, April 5th, 2026, at 8.03 a.m. Tuesday will be Power Plant Day and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one in Iran. There will be nothing like it. Three exclamation points. And keep in mind this is on Easter Sunday. Open the fucking straight, you crazy bastards, or you'll be living in hell. Just watch. Exclamation point. Praise be to Allah. President Donald J. Trump. Whew. When I heard that, uh my jaw dropped. Uh, this was Easter Sunday morning about 8.03 a.m. And my jaw dropped. Um, it's a time for compassion and Christianity and love, a very holy date in the world. And we have this kind of language coming from our president, this profanity-laced language. And that's my reaction. And I'm gonna turn it over now uh to Buzz for his reaction to that post by Donald Trump.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, thanks, Chris. Um, very insightful information there. Uh um I'm I'm still shocked at it, honestly. Um you know, you have to question the whole legality and morality of the of destroying any um civilian infrastructure. Um, you know, there's been discussion about whether or not if the the civilian infrastructure is tied in to military usage, so dual purpose basically, that should those it so should those infrastructure pieces uh be struck. Um so that's a question. Um typically uh via uh do well do it to international law, you you you do not strike uh civilian targets. Um and so the fact that that that's uh uh even coming up um is is a is an issue. Um so I think that um there's a potential toll on on a country, um and that toll will be staggering uh if if you're going to uh do such take such action. And um the toll can be in many different ways. I mean you can look at it from an economical standpoint, you can look at it from a health standpoint, uh, in terms of uh, you know, if you're cutting off civilian infrastructure, you're talking about water, you're talking about uh potential uh hospitals uh being shut down, uh basically just a total um chaos, health chaos situation. Um safety, you know, are would there would there be looting? Would there be riots that might occur? Uh if if you had total infrastructure collapse, you know, we're talking about electricity, we're talking about lighting, we're talking about water, we're talking about communication, we're talking about transportation, you know, roads, bridges. Um it's it depending on how far this uh administration were to go, the the toll that it would take. Um and I also on that post, Chris, I I also had a uh a question or concern. I wasn't sure what Trump meant by uh praise be Allah. You know, I find that um potentially uh uh disrespectful and insulting to the religion, the Islamic religion. Regardless of how you feel about it, I I'm not sure what he meant there. Um I'm not sure what his intentions were in saying that. Um and and so it it the whole post just leaves me um flabbergasted. Um back to you.

SPEAKER_01

Thank you. Uh buzz, very um insightful um observations there. It was just so surprising. And that takes us to two days later. That takes us to two days later on April 7th, 8.06 a.m. Tuesday, and Trump's second post that we'll be discussing today. And I will read it to you verbatim, but this is the one that really upset me and had me worried all day, and had many in the country worried all day. And I'll I'll just read this and uh then make a few comments on it before I turn it over to Buzz. But here is Donald J. Trump's post from Truth Social on April the 7th. A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don't want that to happen, but it probably will. However, now that we have complete and total regime change where different, smarter, and less radicalized minds prevail, maybe something revolutionarily wonderful can happen. Who knows? And I'll quotes. We will find out tonight one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the world, world capitalized. Forty-seven years of extortion, corruption, and death will finally end. God bless the great people of Iran, exclamation point. I was flabbergasted when I heard this. I was sitting out on my screened in porch when this came in that morning, and I was worried all day. And it did occur to me, I was like, I took it as could this be some kind of veiled nuclear war bomb threat when he's talking about a whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I mean, my gosh, that's kind of like um that's kind of like apocalyptic sort of language. And I was thinking, is that could that really be? Is he that unhinged? And I and others worried all day. There was this 8 p.m. deadline, you'll recall, uh, for Iran to open the Strait of Hormuz. And this was what many people worried about all day. And finally, sometime during the day, people were so worried, there were calls for invoking the 25th amendment by some. And you'll recall that amendment due to incapacity, the vice president with the majority vote of his cabinet, uh, becomes uh president. It would require the vice president Vance and a majority of the cabinet. If a dispute in Congress, um then the Congress can decide. And then it's up to the to the Congress if the vice president and the cabinet can't agree. And yes, that was something, but as we know, the Republicans in Congress don't have much of a backbone, and they would never go along with it. But I was hopeful thinking if this is nuclear war being threatened, maybe the Republicans in Congress will stand up, maybe even do impeachment of some sort. But we know that was very, very unlikely. Now, on that note, I want to read to you two or three posts on this day, and it was kind of a historic day where this occurred. And these are three posts on X. One is by Anthony Scaramucci, who worked for Trump, you recall, in the first term for a very short time, and he posted, Wake up, Colonel. He is calling for, and then in all caps, a nuclear strike, period. Seek his removal immediately. This was at 8:59 a.m. on April the 7th. Even Marjorie Taylor Green, she posted about 8:53 a.m. 25th Amendment, all caps. Not a single bomb has dropped on America. Cannot kill an entire civilization. This is evil and madness. Candace Owens, who is a conservative uh commentator, she posted the 25th Amendment needs to be invoked. He is a genocidal lunatic. Our Congress and military need to intervene. We are beyond madness. Very interesting. Even Fox News broached this by raising the question that day could the 25th Amendment be invoked? They raised the question at least. And Tucker Carlson, he criticized even saying it was vile and morally repugnant destroying an entire civilization, as Trump has suggested. Just a crazy day, people. And now I'm gonna turn it over to Buzzy for his reaction to Buzz.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, thanks. Thanks, Chris. Um, yeah, wow. Um just hearing hearing the reactions to that post from from hardcore conservatives, uh, folks that were uh totally on Trump's side up until recently, um, for them to be disturbed um and come out like that uh should make people think uh this is more nonpartisan than people believe. Um just because there hasn't been more of a uh a uh conservative uh reaction doesn't mean there aren't many folk who find his comments in that post to be very disturbing. Uh you have to question uh his sanity, honestly. I think if you if you take that particular post and and and combine it with other things he has said recently, his going back and forth uh is is it's quite it's quite um it's quite unhinged. It's quite uh quite an example of someone who cannot keep his thoughts and ideas together. Now, of course, being an older older person, uh there there is something to be said about that, but that doesn't take away from the fact that if this this man is not capable of running this country because of age or whatever is causing him to have such demented uh uh comments uh uh and and thoughts, um, there's a problem. Now, looking at that post you talked about, Chris, um, you know, the the last one, um what struck me is the enormity of when you're talking about destroying an entire civilization. Um, to me, when I think about that as you know, when you when you go through school and you study about civilization in general, um, you realize the enormity of what a civilization is. So it immediately made me think of um past civilizations that were essentially conquered by folks, people like Caesar and Napoleon, um Hitler, um, essentially uh destroyed, you could say, destroyed um a civilization in its own way. Uh Alexander the Great, you know, you know, throughout history we can find examples of these sorts of military takeovers. You could also go look historically at um some of the uh some some civilization that was some civilization that were affected uh from a uh from a religious standpoint, religious takeovers. Um, for instance, the crusades that that went from the 11th to the 13th century. Um, you know, you also had the Islamic expansion uh from that occurred between the 7th and 17th century, um, you know, basically taking over all of North Africa, Spain, and and what's considered Persia, which is essentially the Middle East now. And then of course, over in our own hemisphere, Western Hemisphere, um the Spanish conquest of the Americans, where uh they totally influenced the Mayans and the Incas, uh, those civilizations, ancient civilizations. So when you have when you have a modern-day president use that word, it's it's to me it's it's it invokes a lot more than just what's going on in Iran. Um, the other thing I'd like to mention about that post, um the the comment about regime change. Now, you keep hearing that um bantered about um there is no regime change. We have leadership change, but the same uh hierarchical system is in place. You've basically there have been people that have been plugged in to these new positions or these the existing positions. The the mindset and the attitude, we have no reason to believe that's changed. So by definition, from everything I recall learning throughout my educational experience, that does not follow regime change, Chris. Um and the other last thing about regime change, the whole piece that goes into that, and I'm gonna end it here, is the whole expectation that people would rise up, the civilians would rise up. Um and and how are they to do that? Um, you know, we've we've got a group, the IRGC, uh, the Islamic Republican uh Guard Corps, that basically is like the a private military police for leadership, fully, fully, uh, fully um uh uh weapon, they're fully they're fully capable of squashing any up uprising, of course. Um so what are these poor people supposed to do? Um and so I find all of all of this just uh just totally uh dangerous and unhinged. Um and um like you said, I mean I think uh you know, do we need to look at um perhaps finding some some way to to remove this president? So I'll you know I'll send it back to you, I'll let you finish up there.

SPEAKER_01

Well, thanks, Buzz. That was a lot of food for thought uh to be thinking about. And I I agree uh with what you were saying, and I agree with the quotes from X I was uh just reading. I think Trump is unhinged, he's dangerous, and he must go. And we're reminded of the importance, again, of that viral video put out in November of 2025 by the six Democratic lawmakers with military or intelligence uh backgrounds of advising military service members that they can and must refuse, quote-unquote, illegal orders. That's so important. If this would have happened and these service members were ordered to commit a genocide and drop a nuclear bomb on Iran, would they question it? It's so important that we differentiate between the commander-in-chief's orders and illegal orders. Genocide is a war crime. It reminds me of the Nuremberg trials at the end of 1945 and going into 1946, at the end of World War II, where basically these leaders high up in the Nazi regime were tried for crimes against peace, crimes against humanity. They committed a kind of genocide. And that's why it's very important that that video came out. Senator Markelli of Arizona, Elisa Slotkin of Michigan, those senators, as well as four under other Congress people like Jason Crow and Maggie Goodlander, all with military or intelligence backgrounds, reminding our troops don't just say you were following orders like in Nuremberg, like the Nazi leadership tried to do. Can't use that excuse. And they were convicted and they were hung. Goring committed suicide. And a timely release on this topic is the movie Nuremberg that starred uh Russell Crowe, and we had others starring in it like Michael Shannon, that reminds us of certain parallels with fascism and Nazism and what's going on now, and the backsliding of democracy that can happen. And there was an excellent quote by by Gring where he said, when he was asked why people listen to Hitler, he made us feel German again. You can look below the surface, sort of a parallel with MAGA, perhaps make America great again. And this democratic backsliding and this move toward authoritarianism that we've seen in our country. And I believe he is unhinged and he's dangerous. And he has to go for the sake of our democracy and for the sake of our ideals and our humanity, kindness, and compassion. And that's how I'm gonna end this episode today. Uh, thank you for listening. We will be addressing more of these issues and Trump's threat to democracy in upcoming episodes. So please stay tuned and tune in. And this is Chris signing off, and Buzz is signing off as well. And have a wonderful night and stay vigilant.
