Welcome back! This weeks guest is the very wonderful Lee! Lee and Salem discuss their new found love for poke bowls, attempt to guess the state capitols, do at least three separate Google searches, their experience seeing A24's new film Undertone and Lee's tendency to fall asleep at the movies, several musicals they've seen recently and more!

SPEAKER_04

It's like a montage. Yeah, and then in the middle of talking about like like the religious aspects of like transness and like them being worshipped, they're putting in real footage of like trans people being beaten with clubs and like rocks thrown at them and shit. I'm like in tears crying in the back of this theater and I look over and I wasn't snoring though, that was good. That's true, because I think I would have started laughing hysterically. I think I think I would have started kissing myself laughing.

SPEAKER_00

You look like a fucking asshole.

SPEAKER_04

I'm not. I can't. We got in Pokeballs recently.

SPEAKER_03

You did?

SPEAKER_04

I opened your third eye. Are you not? I am, but did you not pardon? I was the request not will you be where you are today, later today, for even longer, so you can bring home Pokeballs for lunch. I just want a confirmation check on that.

SPEAKER_03

They're good.

SPEAKER_04

They are good. Uh the show started, by the way. We're in it. We're in it. I don't have a cute little intro anymore. I mean, the song, I don't know. There's some shit.

SPEAKER_03

Whatever. Did you end up putting the song in there?

SPEAKER_04

I think so. I guess we'll find out. Did it play? Let us know in the comments.

SPEAKER_03

I was to say. Um I have to turn this around. What is showing right now?

SPEAKER_04

You know what the best part is not even on screen.

SPEAKER_03

Yay! That's fine.

SPEAKER_04

No, yeah, none of it's on screen. Okay, good. Um, currently, this is now the second time uh a bit on the show has been talking about stuff off screen since last episode. Yeah, we were looking at the swords, and then I went, Do you guys like this bit? That is purely visual, but even the visual listener, like viewers can't see it.

SPEAKER_03

I hate that.

SPEAKER_04

What the fuck are you doing here?

SPEAKER_03

I live here.

SPEAKER_04

That's true. Yeah. Yeah, it happens sometimes. We're gonna try not to, but every once in a while it gets a little crazy.

SPEAKER_03

I live here.

SPEAKER_04

I do.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know what it's from. I live here. I don't know what it's from.

SPEAKER_04

I don't know if it's a TikTok or a vine. I don't know. I think it was a TikTok.

SPEAKER_03

I live here.

SPEAKER_04

I feel like it was recent enough.

SPEAKER_03

Can I go? Can I look it up really quick? You can look at it. We can edit stuff.

SPEAKER_04

We can I mean I prefer not to edit too much because it's like people are looking at it and it's a podcast. So I'm just gonna keep doing the heavy lifting while you Google something on your phone. Uh we're here on the pod. I don't number these episodes anymore because it's not it is a Chrishvine. It sure is a Chrishvine, isn't it?

SPEAKER_03

Alright. I live here. I've been doing it wrong the whole time, too. I just go, I just go, I live here, and that's like not how they do it.

SPEAKER_04

It's fine, it's close enough.

SPEAKER_03

Everybody knows what it is. It's fine.

SPEAKER_04

None of the stuff Chrish does makes any sense, but we all love it and all the same. That's true. Um God, dude. I'm just full of poke. So full of pokeball. I'm so full of pokeball and cake. We also had cake. Cake. It was truly a day. I've been eating thin mints. We've been eating thin mints. We've been in this bitch eating wasabi peas.

SPEAKER_03

Love wasabi peas.

SPEAKER_04

I tried takoyaki. It wasn't into it.

SPEAKER_03

It wasn't the type that it should have been. It they had like no I will say it is largely that texture, so you probably wouldn't like it anyway. But I feel as though I like the first Takayaki ball that I ate was good and I felt like it had a good amount of octopus in it.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

And then the rest of them didn't.

SPEAKER_04

I have wanted to try Takayaki because there's an anime I watched, and a girl gets arrested while trying to buy it, and she loves it. Oh, is it right, yeah. And I was like, damn, that looks delicious. And then you told me it's good octopus, and I was like, okay. And then I tried it today, and it was fried, certainly.

SPEAKER_03

It's not, to be fair, it is not fried octopus.

SPEAKER_04

It is like a fried octopus ball.

SPEAKER_03

It is a ball of like rice mush and an octopus, and then they fry that, and then they put those little fish flakes on it. And I don't like the fish flakes.

SPEAKER_04

But what it well, what today's was was a fried bowl of fucking cement.

SPEAKER_03

Delicious. No, it's so good.

SPEAKER_04

It was there was no rice.

SPEAKER_03

No, that's it's I may also be wrong about what is in it. So hold on a second.

SPEAKER_04

Are you googling that too? Yeah. What an episode already. Well. It I took a bite of it, and it it felt like you know that episode of SpongeBob where the the uh corporation comes in and they're putting the gray stuff in the crabby patties.

SPEAKER_03

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

Go for it.

SPEAKER_03

Wheat flour.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Wheat flour batter filled with dice octopus, tempura scraps, and green onion, which that's not true. They definitely put green onion on it, but they didn't have it.

SPEAKER_04

Anyway, they didn't put none of that shit in there.

SPEAKER_03

They didn't put any of that shit. They put green onion on top of it. They did not put tempera scraps in there, they just put wheat flour batter in there.

SPEAKER_04

It was rough, and so I was not a fan of that. So I just take it my little pokeball instead.

SPEAKER_03

I will I will continue to buy Takiyaki from places that we go to, and then you can always try it.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. If they haven't, it's like eight bucks.

SPEAKER_03

It's fine.

SPEAKER_04

We need to try those Wagyu pot stickers. We had that one time. I need to I need my third eye open.

SPEAKER_03

Shout out to Sushi Samba at the Venetian in Vegas for a $25 order of Wagyu pot stickers. There's six of them. And I did, I think, cried about them. They were very good.

SPEAKER_04

Sometimes something's just so good you gotta cry a little bit about. So good. I don't think I've got food food.

SPEAKER_03

But I'm so scared that we're gonna go and you're gonna be like, these are just okay. These are fine.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Or or we're gonna go and they're not gonna be there anymore. I think they will be, they're still there.

SPEAKER_04

So I think what the most likely outcome will be is that we go and there are delicious, but it just rips my insides apart.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, easy. Yeah. Oh, because wagyu's mostly fat.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, and what we've learned is that anytime I eat anything, you get punched by God. I die. Yeah. The little inside meetings. No, it's okay. I'm like fucking President Snow. I'm just gonna go.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, you're poisoning yourself. Slowly poisoning yourself. Well, we had Wagyu.

SPEAKER_04

And it was tough for me. It was a rough.

SPEAKER_03

We didn't cook it enough.

SPEAKER_04

That's true. We probably didn't cook it enough. We don't know what the fuck. I don't know how to do it. I have no bullshit.

SPEAKER_03

It was it was just it was just it was just burgers.

SPEAKER_04

It was just wagging.

SPEAKER_03

They just made them burgers. Yeah. At the store. It was like, here you go, here's some burgers. Here's some pre-made burgers. Okay. Um I don't know how to cook it otherwise, so it doesn't really matter. I I am of the belief that like most of the time I'm just God, I'm so sorry. Most of the time uh Wagyu is not like it's good, but it's not like that.

SPEAKER_04

It's a little over the top.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I it truly, like I honestly I feel like they probably just made some really good pot stickers there. Yeah, they would have made them good if it was just like fucking ground beef, it would have been fine. Um but yeah.

SPEAKER_04

I need that. Yeah, I need some kind of food that's gonna change my life.

SPEAKER_03

I'm trying to think of what other foods that are like that, but I don't have none, I don't think. Although, also, shout out to Sushi Samba because we got a free appetizer because the uh waiter recognized uh my friend's uh ID. Shout out Auburn, California. He was like, my dad's from there, and then he gave us a free appetizer.

SPEAKER_04

They said, Yo, I've heard of there.

SPEAKER_03

That's what living in California is like.

SPEAKER_04

It is true, dude.

SPEAKER_03

That was five hours away from you, dude. That was so close, I can't believe that happened.

SPEAKER_04

The amount of times I've looked at a movie and been like, holy shit, they're in Sacramento.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, but that's different.

SPEAKER_04

Is it I don't live there? I don't live there. I don't live in California. Um look at us. We live in Portland.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, that's true. We're in the polyamorous Portland house.

SPEAKER_04

Anywhere in California though, like I feel like people if you live in California, people automatically assume you live in Los Angeles.

SPEAKER_03

This is true. And I will say this happens with other states, like in the way that like everybody assumes that like LA is the capital if they don't know too much about it. But I also thought that Portland was a capital of Oregon. It is not, it is Salem, Oregon. Salem Oregon, right?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. But you would just assume because it's the one.

SPEAKER_03

It's the one that's it is Vancouver the capital of Washington?

SPEAKER_04

No, I think it's I think it's Tacoma, isn't it?

SPEAKER_03

Is it Tacoma?

SPEAKER_04

Is it get out third Google coming in? Coming in hot on. I could be wrong. Don't quote me on that.

SPEAKER_03

Capitol Capital of Washington. Washington, no Egypt of Washington?

SPEAKER_04

Washington, America.

SPEAKER_03

It's Olympia.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, that doesn't count. Who would know that?

SPEAKER_03

Who the fuck would ever know that?

SPEAKER_04

I don't know that.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know uh where most of the states are, so that's they really failed me in geography.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, they didn't play this little stuff.

SPEAKER_03

Are you good at that? Do you know where states are? Like most of them?

SPEAKER_04

I know where the states are.

SPEAKER_03

Do you all of them?

SPEAKER_04

Not all of them, but I could probably get- I know the ones over here. If you hand me hand me some some name, you you get throw me on Geogesser.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know if that would work. GeoGesser's a little bit different.

SPEAKER_04

What am I thinking of? Throw me on the game where you map up the maps.

SPEAKER_03

You yeah, you line up the maps. Yeah. Because GeoGuesser is the one where they put you in like Google Maps and you have to figure out where you are in the entire world.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, I don't know. I thought it there's one I've seen where like it's just a map and you gotta it gives you a place and you gotta click it on the map.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, that's just like something. That's like a geography test.

SPEAKER_04

Throw me on the geography test. I'll fucking pass it probably at least 90%. I could get most I but I can't do like the state capitals for every state.

SPEAKER_03

No.

SPEAKER_04

I could do a ton of them.

SPEAKER_03

I used to be a proficient reader. I could do a couple.

SPEAKER_04

I was an advanced reader, mind you.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I I had a I had a 12th grade reading level in the fifth grade.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. And look at us now. We listen to books.

SPEAKER_03

Well, I work all the time.

SPEAKER_04

It's true. It's hard to listen to books sometimes, though.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Sorry. I get to be alone with my thoughts at my job, so thank God I'm not.

SPEAKER_04

You got me to listen to Hunger Games, though. All of them? No. Yeah, I was gonna say don't all say all of them.

SPEAKER_01

All of them.

SPEAKER_04

That's not true. I'm going to. I like all of them. I swear. The newer ones are just better, though.

SPEAKER_03

Anyway, they just expand better. I've never read it. They're just better. Well, they're definitely better movies. Uh and a better adaptation of a book is the new movie as well.

SPEAKER_04

So I we I think we've learned I have this unfortunate trait where if people tell me to watch or consume any media too much, I don't out of protest. You won't do it. I don't like being told what to do. Yeah. And so I was like that with the Hungry Games for a long time because I was like, I'm not watching this dumbass bullshit. It's for babies. And then you were like, I want to go see the new one in the movies. And I was like, Well, I like the movies, so I'll go.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I like movies.

SPEAKER_04

I like the movies, so I'll go see it. And then I did. I was like, this fucking movie kicks.

SPEAKER_03

I probably go to the movies, I fucking hate it though.

SPEAKER_04

Which, like, like we really the last couple times we went, the crowds weren't even bad. Which sucks because they're the some of the worst we've ever seen the last couple of times. Undertone wasn't that bad.

SPEAKER_03

It was just You apologize to the whole group.

SPEAKER_04

I was mad. I hyped it up too much.

SPEAKER_03

It's true. And we went at 9 p.m.

SPEAKER_04

It was my own doing. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Undertone was fine. It just wasn't it could have been cooler. It could have been a short film.

SPEAKER_04

It could have been cooler.

SPEAKER_03

It would have been way better as a short film.

SPEAKER_04

Now I will say, I'm all I have a I have a beef to pick with the internet real quick, and I don't do this a ton. But everyone sitting there in TikTok comments and stuff, being like, I think people who didn't like this movie just have a short attention span and can only handle jump scare fast.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, we watched skin emergenc.

SPEAKER_04

I like skin emarink, so you can't say that to me. I like boring shit when it's scary. You like the witch. Yeah, I like the witch. There's no fucking jumpscares in it. I just won. I just think it's a I I mean, how many times have we done this? This is the only the second episode of the relaunch. I've already done this four times. Have you? It's fucking It's the classic example of like people are either like, this is the scariest movie I've ever seen. I had drowned my kids when I got home because I couldn't live in a world where Undertone exists and so do my kids. Or like, I think whoever made this should be put in Town Square and thrown with rocks. And it's like, or get this. I saw it and I was like, Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

It was fine. Yeah. I saw this and went, I'm glad I didn't really spend money on it. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

If I saw this on Shudder, I'd be like, sure.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

That's what it felt. Felt like a Shudder original. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

It was it. Which isn't always a bad thing. No. It was unfortunately the most polite uh theater audience that we'd ever been in.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, it was dead fucking quiet.

SPEAKER_01

I'm just listening.

SPEAKER_04

Because the movie was like, we're gonna do sound stuff.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

So they said we'll be quiet. And then they didn't do like none of it.

SPEAKER_03

And then yeah, then one sound thing happened, and then I was covering my ears for like half the movie.

SPEAKER_04

That's fair. I wasn't because I was fucking bored out of my mind. They didn't do nothing cool with it.

SPEAKER_03

One movie I don't fall asleep during. I've fallen asleep during, I believe, three movies in the last couple years. But they're all boring.

SPEAKER_04

We went and saw Nosferatu at like 10 a.m. 10 a.m. because I I'm a fucking freak, and if I want to see a movie, we're gonna see that shit as soon as I can.

SPEAKER_03

Fucking I fell asleep.

SPEAKER_04

And for those of you who haven't seen Nosferatu, it's a great movie.

SPEAKER_03

It's so boring.

SPEAKER_04

Holy fuck. It's literally people standing around rooms being like, huh.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. He's there. And I think and I think the the scene that I fell asleep in was possibly the m one of the more interesting scenes, which is the Willem Defoe. I don't know, spoilers. The Willem Defoe, like, wasn't he like getting like a casket with his dead wife or whatever?

SPEAKER_04

That's uh Aaron Taylor Johnson. He gets an extraordinary with his dead wife, yeah. Oh and he does fuck her. Does fuck her, but like crazy.

SPEAKER_03

I think I was asleep during that.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

But I saw people talking about it and I went.

SPEAKER_04

When did that happen? It's quick, you blink and you miss it.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

But it's because he loves her. He can't be away from her. He loves her.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know. He loves his wife.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, his wife is the actor from Deadpool who plays uh evil evil Professor X's sister. I've only seen it once. Uh me too. And she fucking dies over a year ago. She dies as hell. But yeah, we're sitting there and the movie's happening, and then I it's dead fucking quiet, and I just hear and I look over and Leasha's like eyes wide open. Sorry.

SPEAKER_03

Also a very quiet theater audience.

SPEAKER_04

He dead silent. They understood ball. Or other theory, they were also all asleep and it was just me.

SPEAKER_03

I also unfortunately fell asleep during the most emotional moment in the movie Monkey Man. We went and saw fucking Monkey Man. It was late.

SPEAKER_04

It was late. It was another one. We saw that like 8 or 9 p.m. and it's a fucking two and a half hour movie.

SPEAKER_03

I'm 47 years old.

SPEAKER_04

Lee also can can watch action and fight stuff, but doesn't care about it the same way I do. Like you'll watch it and be like, this is good. This is a good story. But like he's not like fucking standing up freaking out when someone does like a cool like fuck like I do. It's like fine. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Well, also because for some reason a lot of the time it looks like over-edited half the time that they're doing it. I don't think I had that problem with Monkey Man, but sometimes with Warrior.

SPEAKER_04

Monkey Man's a lot. I mean, Warrior, they're just really that fast because they're fucking they're martial artists.

SPEAKER_03

I don't think that's true. I don't think they are that fast.

SPEAKER_04

They are that fast.

SPEAKER_03

I think you're I think the camera's too hot too fast.

SPEAKER_04

I think you're just racist.

SPEAKER_03

No, I just don't think they can do that.

SPEAKER_04

They can. Bruce Lee told me.

unknown

Alright.

SPEAKER_04

Monkey Man's real slow though. The fighting's more slow and scrappy. So it looks more real.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, and I fell asleep during like the most devastating season.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, there's like a part he like gets his ass kicked or something. He like retreats to this like trans like haven um where they talk about like goddesses and deities and stuff being like trans and like like the importance of trans people and trans culture. It's like a montage. Yeah, and then of the in the middle of talking about like like the religious aspects of like transness and like them being worshipped, they're putting in real footage of like trans people being beaten with clubs and like rocks thrown at them and shit. I'm like in tears crying in the back of this theater, and I look over and I wasn't snoring though, that was good. That's true, because I think I would have started laughing hysterically. I think I think I would have started kissing myself laughing.

SPEAKER_00

And then you look like a fucking asshole.

SPEAKER_04

I'm in a hoodie in the back of the theater laughing at trans people getting their shit rocked. Yeah. No, please, I'm one of you.

SPEAKER_01

No, please, please, please, please. So yeah, um, what else did I fall asleep during? I don't know. Something.

SPEAKER_04

I saw Gladiator by myself.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I would have fallen asleep.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, well, they I almost did. I saw that shit at 8 a.m.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

And my I was supposed to go with my dad and brother, and they canceled, and I was like, I gotta get out of the house. So I just went and saw Gladiator 2, and I was like, honestly, this shit sucks.

SPEAKER_03

It was fine.

SPEAKER_04

It was fine. It could have it was like fun to look at. But like after a while I went It's just the first movie, I mean it but like worse. Like after a while I went like him and how did they get sharks in the uh gladiator arena? They're like, we're gonna flood it and put sharks in there, you guys fight on boats. And I'm like, I don't think that's how any of that works.

SPEAKER_03

I don't I wouldn't put it past her.

SPEAKER_04

You know what? Fair enough. Pedro Pascal did it.

SPEAKER_03

I feel like I feel like they could do that.

SPEAKER_01

They did a lot of shit. They got a lot of shit there.

SPEAKER_04

I'm I'm glad that movie's uh popularity just came and went because by the time it was like already being talked about, I was tired of hearing about it.

SPEAKER_03

I feel like sequels, like, because Gladiator, the first one, was very big for a long time, I feel like, right?

SPEAKER_04

And yeah, like sequels sequels for movies like that just kind of It's just like how do we do how do we it's how do we make it better? Specifically sequels to movies that came out 10, 15 years ago, it's like basically how do we do the first one but not make it a remake so people aren't mad.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, you know what I mean?

SPEAKER_03

And it's like just remaking it.

SPEAKER_04

He's literally his son, and then they do the thing where like two legacy characters come back, and it's just like but I wanted to see guys fucking kicking and punching each other with swords. And I hey you know what I did? So I f I watched them fight a tiger on a boat, and I was like, fair enough.

SPEAKER_03

Cool, why not?

SPEAKER_04

Sometimes that's all you need. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Um yeah, I don't have movies like that. I don't I don't care about fighting like that. I thought sucker punch was really cool.

SPEAKER_04

Sucker punch is cool. I really like Sucker Punch. There's people kicking and punching in that one.

SPEAKER_03

They're gonna kickin' and punching. There's guns.

SPEAKER_04

There is guns and swords, and they've got charms on them. They do have charms on them. It's cute.

SPEAKER_03

I like that movie, and I think that everybody should give it a chance.

SPEAKER_04

Do people not like Sucker Punch?

SPEAKER_03

People not like Zucker Punch.

SPEAKER_04

Why? Is that a Zack Snyder joint?

SPEAKER_03

It's bad.

SPEAKER_01

It is a Zack Snyder joint.

SPEAKER_04

Zachary.

SPEAKER_03

It's well, because a lot of the times, like when people watch it now, they'll be like, Well, it's um like I don't know, like a like a movie made by men to like objectify women, and I'm like, yeah, kinda, but also she's hot.

SPEAKER_04

Also, why are they all hot though?

SPEAKER_03

Why are they all hot though? I get it. I understand if you don't like movies that are like that, I totally get it. But I watched that movie when I was 10 years old, and it's really good.

SPEAKER_04

I watched it because I was like, these cool girls are fucking killing.

SPEAKER_03

And they're cool, and then I think that girl became the girl from series unfortunate events or something.

SPEAKER_04

I think she was that before.

SPEAKER_03

Before that. Well, I think you're right. I think series unfortunate events. And the other girl was in Twilight. The other girl was in Twilight.

SPEAKER_04

No, she was in Hunger Games.

SPEAKER_03

She was in Hunger Games, it was Joanna from Hunger Games.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Love her.

SPEAKER_03

It was not Alice from Twilight.

SPEAKER_04

No, she's the other one. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Is she in it also?

SPEAKER_04

No. No. Vanessa Hutchins is.

SPEAKER_03

Vanessa Hutchins is there.

SPEAKER_04

She's there.

SPEAKER_03

Um Oscar Isaac is there, right?

SPEAKER_04

Yes, he's the guy. Yeah. He's the Easter.

SPEAKER_03

That was like one of his, I'm assuming not his first fucking role.

SPEAKER_04

It was like, I think his first big role thing that I remember.

SPEAKER_03

That's all I know. I ain't never seen him before that.

SPEAKER_04

I ain't never seen him until now.

SPEAKER_03

I actually, I mean, I thought I had never seen him until Star Wars. So.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Where'd he go? Is he tired?

SPEAKER_03

Well, what's happening with Moon Knight? It's not Oscar. That is Oscar Isaac.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. They don't fucking care about Moon Knight.

SPEAKER_03

Uh, we apparently we don't either. I keep telling, I keep going, we can we can keep watching Moon Knight and you go, Oh, we're gonna watch Warrior.

SPEAKER_04

We got to. I fucking you suggested re-watching Warrior, you fuck.

SPEAKER_03

We're gonna watch ten more seasons of Grey's Anatomy before we're gonna be able to get it.

SPEAKER_04

Because we talked we talked about how we don't remember what happened in season three, and we're like, we just watched the whole thing. That's true. You pitched it now, I'm living it.

SPEAKER_03

Well, before that, when we were when we were couldn't figure out shit to watch, I was like, Well, you watching Moon Knight.

SPEAKER_04

We can finish Moon Knight. Probably should. I like it. I like it. It's good.

SPEAKER_03

I think it's fine.

SPEAKER_04

It's a good show. I understand why people who don't care about Moon Knight don't like it. Yeah. But like, it's not for you, dumbass. It's for me, because I don't know if you make it for you.

SPEAKER_03

You know?

unknown

No.

SPEAKER_03

What is that from? From Rocky Horror.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, okay. I didn't make him for you. It took me a second. I've seen it. I swear, I swear.

SPEAKER_03

Fake gay people.

SPEAKER_04

I've never actually seen it live.

SPEAKER_03

You've seen a shadow cast.

SPEAKER_04

I've seen two shadow casts. Yeah. But I've never seen accounts. I've never seen a production of Rocky Horror Show.

SPEAKER_03

The Rocky Horror Show. Yes. Yeah, which I have seen twice.

SPEAKER_04

The Picture Show.

SPEAKER_03

I love I love my show. I know I've never seen a Shadowcast.

SPEAKER_04

So there you go.

SPEAKER_03

So we have access to it. There's one nearby.

SPEAKER_04

I know, I'm just forgetting. We never go. Well, they love to go, by the way, it's tonight. Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, to be fair, the other one, the Valentine's one we knew about way in advance.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, but we were doing other stuff close enough that we were like, that's okay, we'll just

SPEAKER_03

That's true. And it's like fifty dollars.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

That's fine. But also if I'm gonna spend fifty dollars, I'd rather spend it seeing fucking, I don't know, gray matter. That is okay, because I was looking at our calendar and it's Godspell, Nevermore, and then uh uh Titans. Titans after that. Yeah, and Midi Kingdom. It's like within like a week. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

So great. I'm lit. Yeah, we're going we've been seeing a lot of musicals lately. We saw Jesus Christ Superstar last night. It was pretty good. I liked it.

SPEAKER_03

We have the problem of of I only like I only like the 2012 arena tour with Tim Minchin and Ben Forster.

SPEAKER_04

It's the listen. It's the best one. It's the best one, and I'm so sorry for the purists who like the original.

SPEAKER_03

And I've just learned that they changed a lyric.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Uh and and I always thought that that was the original one. It's the in and I don't talk to me about how to pronounce guessamane. I'm gonna say guess I mean, I don't care. Um yeah, it in uh Ben Forster's version he says uh God thy will be done, take your only son, and that goes way harder uh than whatever the fight's like. God thy will is hard.

SPEAKER_04

I hold the card.

SPEAKER_03

I hold the card. Shut the fuck up. Shut the f fuck up. Shut the fuck. Angeloid Weber and Tim Rice. I don't care. That sucks.

SPEAKER_04

We're watching if you let them be bugs, maybe I would say that was they can't be bugs, so we were watching it last night, and he he he uh the guy we saw was one of the Spider-Man in Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark.

SPEAKER_02

He was Peter Parker in Spider-Man Turn Off Dark.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, he was really good as he's alive, he survived. Yeah, um, but he was our Jesus. Okay and he was good, but we were listening to Gethsemane, and that happened, and I threw me off.

SPEAKER_03

And I think I was dissociating through it. I don't I don't remember that happening.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, it was a long, it was weirdly a long show for it being an hour and fucking five minutes, an hour and ten minutes. The show was so short, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I dude, I'm saying I don't know what they cut out. Maybe they just do maybe they're just faster now.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, who knew it was fast that fucking orchestra that tempo was fucking jumping. There's a couple times I was like, whoa guys, slow down, slow down, slow down.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, and I I won't I don't want to like tark shit on anybody like publicly or anything, so I won't, but I will just say I only like Tim Minchin as Judas. And I know that that's wrong. I know I know that everybody doesn't like it.

SPEAKER_04

I know it's wrong.

SPEAKER_03

He is my only I'm unfortunately the movie the the well, yeah, the movie, the everything has been out for 50 years now. Uh, and unfortunately he's the best one.

SPEAKER_04

He just the way he does it, and I'm sure there's some people, and we've talked about this before, but I'm sure there's some people who are like, oh, he's doing too much. Good.

SPEAKER_03

He's not good, nobody else is doing enough.

SPEAKER_04

Do more.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Do more.

SPEAKER_04

It feels so awkward when they watch a regular version and they go to hit one of the notes and they just stop like 20 seconds faster than you.

SPEAKER_03

Dude, Tim Enchin's just just hooting and hollering on stage.

SPEAKER_04

Dude, he's so good. When he does superstar and he's just fucking making noises back, he's incredible. Yeah, I mean, they should have let him do like a Type 5 or something in the middle. Oh my god.

SPEAKER_03

Well, he's not wasn't like that kind of thing.

SPEAKER_04

He just hops on his piano.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. I love him. Exactly.

SPEAKER_04

We've learned nothing else about him.

SPEAKER_03

I will say the eeriness of uh Judas's death in that one was like the rope swinging sound. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

They obviously can't do what they did in the regular in the production we like, which is a man wears a harness and pretends to hang himself because we were at the fucking local, like it was Broadway Sacramento, but it's a smaller Broadway at music circus, so it's like a round stage.

SPEAKER_03

It's very small.

SPEAKER_04

So they're like, we can't do that, obviously. So instead, he like the the guy playing Judas like climbs up the stairs and then like disappears, and they have like screens behind every section. And they just do like a silhouette of him hanging, and they just play the rope swinging sounds, and both of us looked at each other like it was so scary, actually. It was they left it there for like a little too long, and it was really good.

SPEAKER_03

I thought they were gonna leave it there for like the entire next song. Yeah, it was like that long.

SPEAKER_04

I liked the usage of the screens. That was cool. It was good. They did some fun stuff up there. Everyone did great. Yeah, for you know, like there was just we're picky about our interpretations, but like they were popping off. The fucking ensemble was going nuts.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, the ensemble was great.

SPEAKER_04

They were going fucking a lot of fruits. There's a lot of gays in that one.

SPEAKER_03

They also, I like they let them have whatever haircuts they wanted.

SPEAKER_04

They didn't give a shit, dude. I saw a rat tail at one point.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, they had a couple rat tails, some weird shit going on. Uh, less white people with dreads. That's the other thing I'll give I'll I'll give them I'll give people about the arena tour is a large number of white people with dreads, and there's nothing there's nothing I can do about it.

SPEAKER_04

There's nothing we can do to take that away.

SPEAKER_03

I can't, sorry. Tim mentioned he just did it. Tim, he just did it.

SPEAKER_04

And I you know, I can't I can't defend it.

SPEAKER_03

I can't just fucking 20 years later.

SPEAKER_04

I'm just saying, listen first.

SPEAKER_03

Look it up on YouTube.

SPEAKER_04

Look it up, dude. The his all of his big numbers are on there, except for I think l uh like his like the one where he actually portrays them.

SPEAKER_03

Uh Blood Money or whatever the fuck.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, that was another thing. As we're watching, I think it was during Herod's song, which by the way, I'm also kind of picky about Herod's song.

SPEAKER_02

I thought it was good.

SPEAKER_04

I thought it was good. I I popped because he I don't know if this is what he usually looks like in the original show. Like, I don't know how faithful this was to the original costuming. He had Will Farrell's haircut from fucking Zoolander, and it really made me laugh. It's really funny.

SPEAKER_03

I liked his mesh shirt.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, he had a little mesh tank top, his nipples were hanging out.

SPEAKER_03

No, it was good.

SPEAKER_04

It was good. He did great. It's a fun song to sing. Yeah, like I don't think there's a bad way to do it. I just yeah, I like a certain energy. I think he brought it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

But I remember middle of that song, I think I leaned to you and I was like, I just realized I don't think I know the context for why the fuck he's here.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know the mythology of Jesus. Sorry guys.

SPEAKER_04

If but like even within the narrative is what I'm saying, like if if I didn't already know vaguely the story of Jesus Christ Superstar, I would have had no fucking clue what was going on.

SPEAKER_03

Especially because it's such a different vibe, that song, too. Like it really takes you out of it and go, why are we here? I will say for somebody who is not religious and was not raised religious, for the fact of three of my top musicals being like religious-based musicals, and only one of them's a joke.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, what would you say? Jesus Christ Superstar.

SPEAKER_03

Book of Mormon.

SPEAKER_04

Book of Mormon.

SPEAKER_03

Uh Joseph the Amazing Titanic. Joseph.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Which Okay, and then I guess it's not okay. I wasn't raised religious, but but my grandmother was religious, so I had a a like children's book of Bible stories, and the original Joseph and DreamCoat is part of one of those books that I used to read. Whatever. But yeah, I don't know why it's so funny.

SPEAKER_04

It makes me mad because uh when we watched it, so in the past like two years, Lee showed me like all of my favorite musicals. Um I thought I knew ball. You knew like two musicals. I knew like four musicals. I was like Sweeney Todd Phantom, ever heard of it?

SPEAKER_03

Sweeney Todd, Lamist, Phantom, Hamilton, Hamilton.

SPEAKER_04

Um I don't know, like I knew some ones, but like, you know, the big ones that are like the famous ones. Fucking cats. Like I knew of it. Of it. But like I'd never seen Ride the Cyclone.

SPEAKER_02

It's incredible.

SPEAKER_04

It's one of my favorites now.

SPEAKER_02

Incredible.

SPEAKER_04

Um what else did you show me that uh Next to Normal you just showed me? Next to normal incredible. Uh yeah, I'll talk about that at some point. Um But we were we had we had bought uh Joseph and the Amazing Technical Dreamcoat on DVD at a DVD store we go to. And uh we were like, let's throw it on. First of all, it's like it's like when your when your fucking like uncle exports a fucking cap cut video. It's like this for some reason.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know, they just how they made them.

SPEAKER_04

They fucked it up. I don't know, they fucked up the print.

SPEAKER_03

Maybe it was a bootleg, I don't know.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, because it's someone in there's gonna be like you fucking dumb old you fucking dumb young bitch, you don't know what four by three is. It's not four by three.

SPEAKER_03

It's not four by three.

SPEAKER_04

It is in sixteen by nine.

SPEAKER_03

I'm actually I'm actually very well versed in what four by three looks like it's I have six.

SPEAKER_04

Several CRTs. It's not just the lines, I'm talking they took a 16x9 and they shrunk it. It's fucking bizarre.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know why. Well, that happens to a lot of our a lot of our DVDs when we try to put it on like the new TV too, though. That's true.

SPEAKER_04

Maybe it's just like a new TV too. You can't handle it. Yeah, um, it's incredible. Um Donnie Osman. But then we we threw it on and I was like, holy fuck, I've seen this before.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, yeah, because you used to watch it like you're gonna be able to help, right?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, and I'd seen it before and it just went over my head. I probably was coloring, I wasn't paying attention, I was reading my comic book Bible. Dude, Joseph Fuck, though. Joseph Fuck.

SPEAKER_03

It's so Jack and Cody's dad is there. Yeah, yeah, he's incredible.

SPEAKER_04

It's a great musical. I want to see it live. Very badly.

SPEAKER_03

May I return? Sorry. Um, I I've seen it live. Oh no, no, thank you. And I have pictures from the stage door of that one. I look insane.

SPEAKER_04

I was flash them on screen now. 15 years old.

SPEAKER_03

I guess I could send them to you, but Jesus Christ.

SPEAKER_04

No, it's great. I love it. I was listening to it on the way home today.

SPEAKER_03

Joseph?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Yeah. It was great.

SPEAKER_03

Uh Joseph, what else is there? We just watched Come From Away.

SPEAKER_04

Dude.

SPEAKER_03

Which I don't want to spoil anything about Come From Away. Because I but so I need I need everybody who, if you don't know what it's about and you want to watch kind of a cool musical, don't look up anything. Don't look up anything and try. Okay, listen. I unfortunately I have fallen away from being able to like learning how to pirate things again. So we watched it on Apple TV. Yeah. Fuck the whatever. Okay. Everyone has a vice. Ours is we have $260 a month worth of.

SPEAKER_04

So watch them.

SPEAKER_03

Um close your eyes for the first 10 seconds.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, don't, yeah, don't look at the TV. Don't read the synopsis.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, it's good. It's really fun.

SPEAKER_04

That's how I experienced it.

SPEAKER_03

It's a it's one of those ones that you kind of don't think that it's gonna kind of get you, but for some reason it did.

SPEAKER_04

There's something about it. Yeah, like we won't spoil it, but it's we just bought tickets for it actually.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

While we were in the seats for Jesus Christ Superstar, we saw on the the Titan Trons that they were doing it.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

And or in the program too.

SPEAKER_03

And then we were like several months from now.

SPEAKER_04

Front row, baby.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, front row.

SPEAKER_04

We're gonna be right here. I'm ready to come from away. Let's go. I'm so excited.

SPEAKER_03

I'm an islander.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

That was it. That is a strange song for them to sing when all white people are. Hey, an islander. I am very buddy.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. It's great though. Watch it. It's it's really one of those, like, we just come, we had hurt like I don't think.

SPEAKER_03

I'd seen it on I'd seen it on like TikTok and stuff when people were talking about it. We also watched Marile we roll along, which was fine.

SPEAKER_04

I would Okay.

SPEAKER_03

I wanted to like it more, but it was just like such a musical-ass musical.

SPEAKER_04

It it was boring, it was just yeah, it was very standard.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

I think the story would have been better told in regular order.

SPEAKER_03

In regular order.

SPEAKER_04

It's it's basically about this one I'll spoil because I don't give a fuck. Who cares? It's the plot of the show. It which I guess come from away would be the two, but that one's cooler. Um, it's just about three friends kind of falling apart over time for like different reasons. I won't spoil the reasons, but like, and it's told in reverse of like, here's how they got there, and or like here's where they are, and here's how they got there. I think it hurts the show. Like, I think it'd be better if it was other than the final number, it pays off a little.

SPEAKER_03

It and only a little bit because it makes you go, oh.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, it's like, oh that's sad, but it's like it'd be even sadder if at the end it's just fucking galone. And it's like, well, yeah, but it just it just they they had a gimmick and they they tried it and it just wasn't super interesting.

SPEAKER_03

It's it's one of those, I mean it's another one that would got like so talked up for me that like people are you know, I well, I listened to fucking Jonathan Groff talk about it, and he was like, It's such a such a it's ahead of its time. Powerful, it's not it's but I guess if you're doing it though, like obviously, like especially like as a theater person, like who actively is an act like who is an actor. Um like I I imagine sorry, I just watched it. What the fuck? Um uh I imag I don't know. I am I people people end up getting like a a different relationship with the characters than we ever will.

SPEAKER_04

That's fair.

SPEAKER_03

You know, so like I can imagine, especially like because he was when I was a when I was like listening to him talk about it, uh it was a lot of like you know, I the the lady that's in it, um I don't remember her name. She was in 21 Chump Street 21 Chump Street. Um they are like longtime friends, yeah. So like it's a very like it was like a very emotional moment for him. So like I can totally see that. Um I just yeah, I just didn't care about it.

SPEAKER_04

I just didn't connect with it as much. I thought it was like again, I thought it was fun. Yeah. I watched it and was like, yeah, old friends I think is a great song. I think it's a great number. Everything else was just kind of like, yeah, this is a musical.

SPEAKER_03

The only other musical that I know that does like a different timing is Last Five Years, um which is incredible.

SPEAKER_04

Love last five years. So another example though of me, I I only will listen to the movie version.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I can see that.

SPEAKER_04

I don't I won't listen to the the original's fine.

SPEAKER_03

Um I used to listen to the original more, but it uh there's certain things.

SPEAKER_04

You got Jeremy Jordan in there.

SPEAKER_03

Jeremy Jordan's in there. Dude, this is not a good dream. I am here inside the cream. Jeez. I just cut it off at cream.

SPEAKER_04

Do you guys know that?

SPEAKER_03

We guys know about big cat.

SPEAKER_04

What the fuck y'all know about big cat, dude? The only song I've heard from them.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, it's Jeremy Jordan.

SPEAKER_04

Oh man, I love them. Get him in something right now. Bring back falsettos and put them in there.

SPEAKER_03

Bring my falsettos, put them in there. Christian Burl can be there too.

SPEAKER_04

Christian Burrell can be there again.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Yeah, we can all be there. I'll be there.

SPEAKER_04

I'll be there.

SPEAKER_03

I'll be there. I love falsettes.

SPEAKER_04

It's great. That one fucked me out. That was not okay.

SPEAKER_03

Gotta rewatch it soon.

SPEAKER_04

That was another one, just on a whim. We're like, oh, this one falsettos. I didn't know anything about it going in.

SPEAKER_03

I only know musical that makes you want to cry and kiss yourself.

SPEAKER_04

It's tough, man.

SPEAKER_03

I only know those kinds of musicals.

SPEAKER_04

I'm sitting here going, uh uh describe getting a musical described to you as a bunch of kids die on a roller coaster. And I'm like, dude, that sounds crazy. It's the wonderful thing.

SPEAKER_03

Just because it's like Final Destination 3.

SPEAKER_04

And then she's fucking there singing about Sugar Cloud, and I'm fucking, I'm sobbing. I'm in hysterics.

SPEAKER_03

I'm just I'm dead on the floor.

SPEAKER_04

It's not okay.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, that's fair.

SPEAKER_04

What do you think of these chairs? Are they comfortable with? I think they're fine.

SPEAKER_03

Especially for like what, like an hour and a half to two hours.

SPEAKER_04

An hour at the most. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

How long have we been sitting here for?

SPEAKER_04

36 minutes.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, that's not bad.

SPEAKER_04

Were you in a rush to get out of here? No, I just I much fucking longer I have to. Yeah, yeah. Oh my fucking god. I'm ready to throw this game out of the goddamn house. Let me tell you. Alright?

SPEAKER_03

It's fun.

SPEAKER_04

No, it's fine.

SPEAKER_03

To be fair, I now I'm at a point where like I I have got I've beaten the story mode. So like Did you beat the story? I did. Okay. So that I could get certain things that would make building easier. Yeah. Um so I'm a little bit less like I need to be playing it all the time. Yeah, like it's still fun and I'm still gonna do stuff with it. Um, but I I feel less like I have to be on it all the time.

SPEAKER_04

Now at the point where there's no like end goal.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Yeah. Like there is, but yeah, it's it's it's a lot less like I I can actually just like take my time and have fun with it. Which like I was having fun with it before. I'm actually kind of bummed that I like blasted my way through the story mode a little bit because I tend to do that. Um, but again, it helps with like the bigger builds and stuff.

SPEAKER_04

Well, catch catch me replay the story and catch me up online so I can just do builds. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, this is true.

SPEAKER_04

I played for like two days and not even I think four hours.

SPEAKER_03

I think if we looked at your Nintendo Switch online account, it would say three hours.

SPEAKER_04

We would have a coupon for a free return. Yeah. I just I think I'm realizing it's just not my kind of game. Cause I like a, you know, I fucking I've probably played Tears of the Kingdom for 200 hours. So I like a game where there's no goal, but I think when it's like go do whatever you want, I think what I want is to go explore and fight and find treasure.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, and like I think you would like other new poke like actual Pokemon games more. Like I feel like you might like ZA or like Arceus. Um I just heard they're made for like two years. They're baby game for babies now, though.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, and you is the real problem. We have a we have an issue in the house where Lee unfortunately don't believe I like video games because I get mad at them. But that means I do. Well, one thing we have to learn is that that means I I do like it because I care. If I give up on a game, that's how you truly know I don't care. If I'm just like, I want to fucking play bullshit.

SPEAKER_03

Um but yeah, unfortunately they only make baby games for babies now.

SPEAKER_04

Um Yeah. Well, I've been playing Bowler's Gate anyway.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, you haven't been doing that either.

SPEAKER_04

Well, I lost four hours of progress. I did. My my main character died, and I didn't know that could happen. Well, like I knew it could obviously you can die, but like my main character was split from the group and then died, and then it just shifted me to the other party, and I had no idea how to get to her. And I I I was running around, I couldn't figure it out, and I texted my friends who have also played Baldur's Gate, and it was basically like, Yeah, I think you might be like hardlocked. When did that happen?

SPEAKER_03

When I went the other day, like when when I when you were home?

SPEAKER_04

Uh no, you were there for it. It was when I went and uh I talked to like the goblin lady and then she took me to jail. Yeah, and then a guy fucking killed me, and it was just like figure it out.

SPEAKER_03

Well, yeah, and then because then you went back and you I remember that because you went back and you were like, I have to do this whole fucking thing again.

SPEAKER_04

And I was like, I need it.

SPEAKER_03

It didn't seem like that, it wasn't like four hours, was it?

SPEAKER_04

It was it was a couple hours. Oh it was like before I had done it was before I'd done the fight where I got my ass kicked. No, no, it was after that, but it was when I did the goblin place where like I got my shit rocked for 45 minutes and then went back, redid it, and then came back and I won. Yeah, it was before that. Oh I have to do that.

SPEAKER_03

Because you hadn't saved enough after that.

SPEAKER_04

It's my fault. I had been doing well enough and only dying in combat that just restarts combat encounters. So like I hadn't died in the story. Yeah. So I didn't know I should have been rotating my saves more frequently.

SPEAKER_03

So I know as a person who frequently rotates saves. Yeah, but usually it's at the same time. You're rotating saves in like mist.

SPEAKER_04

Like I we're you never know. You can get hardlocked in mist, can't you?

SPEAKER_03

I think you could get hardlocked in well, yes, but like yeah. You get it's uh you it's easier to get hardlocked in like Riven, I think, too.

SPEAKER_04

We gotta play Riven.

unknown

I know.

SPEAKER_03

It's really hard. It is really hard. It's a Riven is mean.

SPEAKER_04

We did the we unfortunately we did a playthrough of Mist on the channel coffin drop.com slash YouTube slash coffin drop. Uh and uh we unfortunately ended up having to do the thing I don't like, which is just me playing and you holding a walkthrough open and telling me exactly what you're doing. Yeah, with those dumbass tree jungle, we got stuck.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, because I've never been good at that one. Yeah, that's true.

SPEAKER_04

I we didn't do it for the whole thing, but for that part specifically.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, well, and also like I yeah, there was a lot of things that like I would change. I think Riven will be better because like I have played Riven, but I will probably have to have a walked around for that too. Um but uh because it's there's there's like the first puzzle is like mean as hell.

SPEAKER_04

Um yeah, isn't like noise-based or something.

SPEAKER_03

No, there's another one that is. Um sorry, that one's different. Um no, it's just like fucking what the fuck do you mean kind of puzzle? Uh but I feel like in Mist, like like watching it back, I do a lot of like, well, try this. When like you could just fucking figure it out.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, that is true.

SPEAKER_03

Uh it's just because I could play Mist with my eyes closed. Yeah. I've played it 400 times.

SPEAKER_04

So you know me, I'm terrible. I one of the things about running a Let's Play channel with someone is I've had to slowly try and get better at just watching someone play a video game and it not make my skin hurt.

SPEAKER_03

So you know, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Cause even when when you're technically doing the right thing, if it's not how I would do it, I'm like re-animal too. Re-animal was re-animal was so fun though.

SPEAKER_03

Reanimal is fun. I have fun with reanimal. I cannot believe that we didn't get any more hats than we did. Apparently, there's a fucking thousand of them.

SPEAKER_04

We got three hats and then it never gave us another hat.

SPEAKER_03

I never got another hat. I was like, how how much more could I possibly explore?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

But it was really fun, though. It was very short, but it was good. Yeah, that's the point, I think. Maybe trying to play it again and find them.

SPEAKER_04

But it was a lot of fun. We just bought it one night and we were just like, let's just fucking play it. Like it won't even be content. Let's just play it. Like, would it have made good content? Yeah, yeah. I think halfway through playing it we realized fuck this would have been a killer stream, but yeah. But it's hard to think of it like in the time well and it cued us into now maybe like finding more games like that to stream, but I think it was just fun to experience.

SPEAKER_03

I think it takes two is probably gonna be a good one to do, uh, which I feel like we have.

SPEAKER_04

I do, I own it.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, yeah. On Steam, right?

SPEAKER_04

Yes, yeah, and on I think I own it on PlayStation and on PlayStation. Because it was one of the free games own it forever.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Um I think we'll fucking see because they took Kina away from me. Honestly, Sony, fuck you. I've had enough. The whole thing with the plus is supposed to be like if you download it while you have plus, you have it forever. Even if you delete it, you still have the file. That's how it's supposed to work. And then I went to play Kina because they announced the next one, and I was like, Oh, I gotta finish that. I never finished.

SPEAKER_03

I wonder I always assumed because I feel like the way that you say it is oh, if you downloaded it when you had it and then you cancel your subscription, you can still play it. But I'm no, it's if you don't cancel your subscription. Oh, okay. But if you've I think we had canceled our subscription, I wasn't.

SPEAKER_04

Did we?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. So so I think maybe maybe just at that point, like because there are other ones, but I think maybe they took it off.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, probably. Um well because they want people to buy it now because they're making another one, exactly. So they should spend $30 in the game.

SPEAKER_03

So we're just gonna go to fucking GameStop, they'll have it for $11. It's fine. That's true. I almost had a free copy. Why? Um, do you remember the lady that used to live in the house with me and my mom before you moved in? Yeah. Um, she had it and she was letting me borrow it for some reason. And then when she had to move, she asked for it back. So damn. Or I had like given it back to her or something because I didn't want to play it. I didn't care about it.

SPEAKER_04

It's fun, it's like a PS2 game. But now.

SPEAKER_03

And that it makes sense kind of why I didn't really care about it. You didn't play them. I don't yeah, I didn't really know that.

SPEAKER_04

You had a DS. When you were like 17.

SPEAKER_03

No.

SPEAKER_04

When did you get a DS?

SPEAKER_03

When I was like 10.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, I thought it was a long longer after that.

SPEAKER_03

No, I my first like home console was when I was older. My first home console was actually when I was about 19. What did you get? I bought from off of my friend, I bought an Xbox 360 for $60. Um, I was like 18, yeah, 18 or 19. Um, and I was in like so 2017-2018, I was playing my Xbox 360 on a CRT still for some reason. Yeah. Um and it looked like shit. It was awesome. That was how I played uh Assassin's Creed, the the Ezio trilogy specifically. Um, and then at some point I bought a new my bought myself a new TV.

SPEAKER_04

Um did you have a every like 20-year-old's first TV where it was like a 19-inch flat screen. Yeah, I was that.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, not not that you guys can see it, but uh yeah, it's literally I'm surprised that's not my first one. It could have been that one. That was my uh mine was a Roku though. Or no, mine was a TLC, TCL or whatever.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, it's good. You go to Walmart, they're like fucking $20.

SPEAKER_03

They're like $20. Well, and then that was also so when I bought so when I bought my my next TV, I did buy like another Roku, and then it was um I bought a Roku and I had a PS4, and I had specifically I actually specifically had bought a PS4 for Horizon Zero Dawn. Um and then I didn't I didn't really play it a lot. Um I did play a lot of it, but I I got to a certain point. It's a great game. Yeah, it's a good game.

SPEAKER_04

I never beat it twice, but you know, like I started it twice and got to the same point and was like it's fucking so long.

SPEAKER_03

Uh and then I and then I bought my first like it was like uh what's the one how big would you say that the one we have in the room is the the one that we have mounted.

SPEAKER_04

Oh probably like 32, 32 to 38.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, somewhere 35 and 35 inch TV. Yeah, I bought that. Uh, and that was my first like big purchase. That was like $300. Yeah, it was awesome.

SPEAKER_04

And now we have dumb ass big TV.

SPEAKER_03

I have stupid ass big TV that's also about $400.

SPEAKER_04

We moved into this apartment the first thing when we set up our thing. I was like, I really eventually want a fucking big TV.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, and we got it took a while when you got your tax return.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Now we have stupid ass. But like big TV to the point where like it could not be bigger. No, it wouldn't fit in here.

SPEAKER_03

No, and like like it's I think it's a good size. Yeah, it looks like I don't need a bigger TV.

SPEAKER_04

Now we get a house. 75.

SPEAKER_03

75 maybe.

SPEAKER_04

Seems about right.

SPEAKER_03

75 seems okay. I'm scared of a hundred.

SPEAKER_04

I can't.

SPEAKER_03

I don't think it'll look like I also don't want to move it.

SPEAKER_04

No.

SPEAKER_03

I'm just scared. I'm like, fuck, we might as well sell that TV when we move, so I don't have to move it. I just buy a new one.

SPEAKER_04

Get a different one, get it delivered. That's fair.

SPEAKER_03

I don't we don't have a box for it.

SPEAKER_04

That's not fitting in the back of a cab.

SPEAKER_03

No, no, yeah, it fit it fit in the back of the fucking CRV when I bought it barely. Love it. Um we'll see. But uh yeah. Alright. That would be nice. Honestly, that might be like depending on when we move, we might just have might just get a new TV. Just buy a new TV. Just buy a new TV. I listen, we are a little irresponsible with money, but not in a terrible way. No, it's fine. It's fine.

SPEAKER_04

Just like buying toys and so it's fine.

SPEAKER_03

Don't worry. I have 17,000 handhelds.

SPEAKER_04

I buy toys from Japan, and sometimes they come and they're significantly smaller.

SPEAKER_03

They're about a size of a watch.

SPEAKER_04

One of them is a watch. No, no, no.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_04

It was like $100, but it was like $120. But isn't good shape.

SPEAKER_01

It's yeah, it's not poorly made.

SPEAKER_04

It's just a fucking toy for children. It's plastic. So like, but it's a collector's item. It's from the 90s.

SPEAKER_03

There you go, it's fine.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, it's fine. And it's on my shelf and it looks kind of cute.

SPEAKER_03

Honestly, I think it's better that it still fits on a smaller shelf.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Like I'm I it wasn't yeah. Is it? It's literally like this big.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, in the f I I because it it's a briefcase. Yeah. It's from it's from Gogo 5, which is the Sentai equivalent to Lightspeed Rescue Power Rangers. In if you didn't know, in case you were wondering. If you even care. If you even care. It's a briefcase, and then it's got a their V-Lancer gun, which in the show is a fucking this big like rifle. It's got the Morpher, which is a train that sits on your wrist, and then it's the Gogo 5 badge. And so I was expecting a fucking like a fucking haliburton. And then I walk up to my grandma to because I get my packages over house, and she goes, Here you go. And it's like it's like this big. And I opened it.

SPEAKER_03

Well, because I feel like I feel like before it even arrived, you had looked at another picture and went, I think this is gonna be smaller than I thought it was. Did I? Yeah. But like I think that even that I think maybe you thought it was gonna be like half the size.

SPEAKER_04

Because the I also bought the titanium ranger's blaster.

SPEAKER_03

And it's very small.

SPEAKER_04

Titanium Ranger being the sixth ranger from Gogo 5, which is the predecessor to Lightspeed Rescue, if you even care.

SPEAKER_03

Is that the one is that the one with the snake?

SPEAKER_04

Yes.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, that's fucking crazy.

SPEAKER_04

Where he has his little snake tattoo. If you even care. If you even care, by the way. And Ryan being the titanium ranger. And his blaster is a fucking hand axe that then the axe flips down into a gun. And I was like, need that. That was like my one of my childhood dreams. It's smaller than it is in the show because he's an adult man, but it still fits like a pistol in my hand. Is it like it's like inbox under a bunch of stuff, but like it fits in my hand like a gun. Like it looks like and it makes a bunch of noise. That that's the other thing. This one doesn't make noise.

SPEAKER_02

Doesn't have like batteries or anything?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, it's just plastic. It look it felt like feel like I bought it from Denios. Yeah, like it's it's not Denios is a is a local farmer's market in which I would buy toys from Super Sentai, which is the predecessor to Power Rangers and Power Rangers.

SPEAKER_03

It's fucking really gone to shit. I hate Denios.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Um, well, I guess we knew this time was coming. I have a question for you. It's a new segment on the show here on Thanks for Stopping by the podcast. I've been thinking of something to do at the end. This whole thing, by the way, this whole relaunch has basically just been I've been watching a lot of Caleb Heron's So True, because he's my favorite comedian. And I was like, I want to do how his show is like. And so I've always really wanted like a reoccurring thing at the end, and I like just a I don't want to make guests play like a fucking game. I think that's uh a little too much.

SPEAKER_03

So I just play a round of Super Mario for the NES or whatever came out on.

SPEAKER_04

If you're listening in your car. Um, but I was thinking about questions, and one of the things I'm trying to do in my real life is consume more media in general that like are less so consume more media, but more so like push myself to consume things out of my my normal not boundaries, but like what I would normally consume. Because I think so like we talked about earlier, sometimes I'm very quick to just go, I don't want to watch that, I don't want to do that, I don't want to do that shit, and then I miss out on potentially great stuff. And so the new question I'm asking, and you've been warned, no one else has, but um the new question I'm gonna ask everybody is it if there was one what you would say your most underrated piece of media is could be a movie, a TV show, a song, a fucking chip flavor. Just like what's an underrated piece of media to you?

SPEAKER_03

Well, so unfortunately we live together. Yeah. So anything that I have ever thought was underrated, I have already either gotten you into, so like sold you on it, or whatever. So I'm just going to use Mist, the video game.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

It's hard to say that it's underrated because it was one of the top-selling video games at the time, uh, like PC games at the time. Yeah. But now not as many people know about it, I feel like. So uh I guess technically I could tell you to get into Riven. Yeah, that's true. Riven is the sequel to Mist. Um and it's it's a puzzle game, in case anybody doesn't know what Mist is, most of you. Mist and Riven are puzzle games, and they're cool and they're fun, and I played just the fucking worst version of it when I was a kid, which is the DS part of it. It's so bad. Um and yeah, it's mean as fuck. Maybe we'll see you play it at some point soon-ish. Yeah. Yeah. I want to.

SPEAKER_04

Did we find did we find Mist on the DS? I know we found it on the 3DS.

SPEAKER_03

I have not found it on the DS yet.

SPEAKER_04

On the 3DS is just as bad though. Yeah. We do a lot of retro game shows, and we've been looking for a DS copy of Windows.

SPEAKER_03

Well, it was, it was so that one, the 3DS one, we actually didn't find it at a show. We found it at Computer Booter.

SPEAKER_04

Was that a computer? Computer booter. Computer booter. Great sword.

SPEAKER_03

Um yeah, I will say also, okay, this is actually another thing, and it's not technically underrated, but something that I keep trying to get you into. Fucking Warrior Cats. Please. I'm begging. I'm begging you. I need you at least the first arc of Warrior. Warrior.

SPEAKER_04

The first arc. I don't know what that is. There's a thousand of them.

SPEAKER_03

The first one.

SPEAKER_04

What do you mean?

SPEAKER_03

It's called The Prophecy Begins.

SPEAKER_04

See, you say that. You lead that before you start being each other.

SPEAKER_03

You go to Audible.com.

SPEAKER_04

And I just assume the prophecy begins is the first run of the first one.

SPEAKER_03

You go to, or whatever the fuck. You go to you go to Aaron Hunter Warrior Cats and it and it shows you first in the series.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. I'll listen to it.

unknown

Please.

SPEAKER_04

I will.

SPEAKER_01

Please. Please.

SPEAKER_04

Well. Well. I think that was it. I think that's a doozy. Thanks for joining the show. Thanks for being on. We did it. We talked about all the things.

SPEAKER_01

Maybe I'll be back.

SPEAKER_04

Maybe you'll be you'll probably be back, I imagine. We'll we'll we'll catch anyone who's on the show. If they come back, I'll I'll hopefully have consumed the thing they told me to.

SPEAKER_03

And then yeah, that'll be we'll talk about it.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. But thanks for joining, dog. I appreciate it.

SPEAKER_03

Thanks for having me.

SPEAKER_04

SPEAKER_03

SPEAKER_03

No, I don't have anything. Um, coffin drop.youtube.com. Coffin drop. How does YouTube work? Is it youtube.com slash.

SPEAKER_04

I think it's youtube.com slash coffin coffin drop.

SPEAKER_03

It's one of those.

SPEAKER_04

YouTube dots YouTube slash coffin s uh yeah, that's it.

SPEAKER_03
