Happy Monday, everybody. Welcome back. Welcome back, everybody. Happy Monday to you. I hope that you had an incredible weekend, spent time with family, and spent time on the pickleball court where you love to be, I love to be, we all love to be. That's the purpose of this podcast. Welcome back to the Pickleball Recovery and Performance podcast, brought to you by Paddle Pro Recovery, also known as PPR for short. It's episode 18. Can you believe it? 18 episodes in, all because of you guys. We thank you tremendously, tremendously for following us, subscribing. Uh, we got some new reviews we saw the other day. We are still standing at a five-star review on the Apple Podcast platform. Guys, this is because of you, the listeners, and we thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you so much, guys. Today is episode 18. The recovery lie nobody's talking about. Now, this episode is one the pickleball community has needed for years. You are not selling anything when you're on the court. You are being who you are. We're gonna speak a lot about that today in episode 18, the recovery lie nobody's talking about. So, welcome back, guys. Today we're not talking about footwork, we're not talking about the two bounce rule or your third shot drop. Today, I want you to have an open mindset and an honest conversation about something that every single player in the community deals with, and a recovery problem that the sports industry has been getting wrong for decades. You heard that right. This is the episode I wish someone had made two years ago. Let's go. Guys, you know the sound. That sharp, clean, satisfying pop when you hit the perfect third shot drop and it lands right where you wanted it. That sound that makes you want to play forever. A dopamine hit, right? The sound that keeps you coming back to the court every day. You also know the other feeling. The one that shows up in the morning after a three hour, yes, three hour, y'all know who we are, open place session. When your alarm goes off and you try to sit up in bed. The stiff knees, the elbow that's been quietly barking for three weeks, the lower back that somehow feels 30 years older than the rest of your body. And here's the thing: it doesn't matter if you're tournament level competitor, a weekend warrior playing for days a week, or someone who picked up the paddles six months ago now and has a genuine problem. Joint fatigue, muscle soreness, and localized inflammation after pickleball is the great equalizer. It gets everybody. Okay? You, me, everybody. So what do most of us do? Well, we reach into our gym bag and we grab whatever sports gel or cream we've been using forever. Maybe it's the blue stuff, maybe it's your white stuff that smells like just menthol, fever dreams, right? We slather it on, it gets cold or hot, and we feel something. So we assume it's working. Today I need to tell you the truth. What you're feeling and what's actually happening inside your body may be two different things. And the different matters more than you realize. Okay? Let's talk about what the majority of the sports recovery market is actually selling you. This is huge. Ready? This is called inside baseball. Most mainstream sports gels and creams, the ones you know that you see in every drugstore self, in every athletic trainer kit, are built around artificial cooling and heating agents or business model, just menthol. These are compounds designed to create an intense cessation on the surface of your skin the moment you apply. Okay? And it feels good. And I'm not going to pretend it doesn't. That cold rush or that warm burn feels like something is working. It feels like relief. But here's the catch. That sensation is often just a very loud distraction. What those agents are doing is overwhelming your nerve endings with extreme temperature signals so intensely that your brain temporarily stops registering the achy underneath. It's not addressing the inflammation. It's not communicating with the actual source of the problem. It's just, well, louder. It is the equivalent of putting a piece of black tape over your car's check engine light and calling it fixed. That's stupid. The light is covered, the problem is still running underneath, you feel better for an hour, maybe two, and then the ache comes back because nothing actually changed at the issue level or the tissue level when it comes to the body. Now, here's what makes this a real community problem. Not just a product problem. Pickleball participation has exploded. We are talking about the fastest growing sport in America. You know this. And the player base skews towards adults 35 and older who are playing high-intensity repetitive motion sports multiple times a week. Elbow tendinitis, rotator cuff strain, knee inflammation. These injuries are showing up in orthopedic offices at record rates. And a significant contributing factor is that players are masking their symptoms with surface level relief products instead of actually recovering between sessions. Okay? No buy not. They feel okay enough to play, they say. So they play. And the underlying inflammation that's just masked never gets addressed. And the injury gets what? You guessed it. Worse. We have to talk about this. So what does real recovery at tissue level actually require, guys? You ready? To answer that, I need to induce you to something called the endocannabinoid system, your ECS. Don't let the name intimidate you. This is not a conversation about cannabis. This is a conversation about one of the most important regulatory systems in the human body. And one that most people have never heard despite having it in their entire lives. Your ECS is a vast network of receptors distributed throughout your entire body, in your muscles, in your joints, your skin, your nervous system. And its primary job is regulating three things that every pickleball player cares deeply about sleep mood and pain inflammation response. Also, guys, in your brain you have CB1 receptor, cannabinoid one receptor, CB2 receptor lives in your gut. Okay, don't forget that. When inflammation occurs in your elbow, your knee, or your shoulder, your ECS is already trying to manage that response. What if you could give it better tools to work with? This is where the concept of transdermal delivery becomes important. Transdermal means through your skin, right? Not sitting on top of it or just chilling there. The difference between a product that sits on your skin's surface, creating a sensation, and a product that actually penetrates the skin barrier to deliver the compounds to the underlining tissue is enormous. It's the difference between covering the check engine light and actually looking at the engine. And here's where plant-based formulation becomes the advantage. When you use potent botanical compounds, ingredients, your body's chemistry was already born and already recognizes, right? Bioavailability. Rather than synthetic fillers and artificial agents and this and that and proprietary formulations, something interesting happens. Your body doesn't treat those compounds as foreign, it welcomes them. Mm-hmm. It absorbs them faster. It puts them to work at the receptor level, just the way it was intended. Think of it this way synthetic compounds knock on the door. Plant-based botanical compounds already have the key. It's cool, huh? Your ECS receives those botanical signals and begins actively modulating the inflammatory response at the source, not masking the pain signal at the nerve ending, but actually communicating with the system that governs inflammation in the first place. The difference, this is the difference between relief and recovery. And in a sport where your body is taking repetitive loads session after session, that difference is everything, right? This is exactly why Paddle Pro Bomb exists. Exactly why we created it. Because we saw this issue. We saw this issue so much. We can't stand the fake band-aid mass type creams and gels that are out there that are just tricking you with temperature gauges. Okay? It was not designed to sit on top of your skin and overwhelm your nerve endings. Paddle Pro was engineered with a tur transdermal delivery system and a plant-based botanical profile specifically with you and me and athletes in mind. And specifically with pickleball players in mind. That's what we do. Because this community deserves a product that was actually built for what we do. Okay? When you apply paddle pro balm, two things happen simultaneously. Number one, you get fast acting localized relief. It works within minutes. The soothing response lets you stay in the court, finish the match, or get through the rest of your day comfortably. At the same time, the transdermal properties are already working beneath the surface. The anti-inflammatory process has started before you even stepped off the court. Okay? Two punch. By the time you get home and kick your shoes off, you're already hours into the actual recovery, not hours into waiting for the menthol to wear off. Actual recovery. That's the double duty difference. Instant relief and cellular recovery happening at the same time. You can find that at paddleprobaum.com. The link will be in the show notes as well. Share them with your friends and family. This is the recovery standard the sport deserves. It's already affordable, it's TSA approved, it's organic and plant-based, and it's a solution that actually keeps you on the court, not a band-aid that keeps your money coming into us every two weeks. Okay? One product lasts you about three to four months. And if you put your email in as a first-time user, you'll get 25% off. Okay? Plus free shipping. I want to step back for a second and talk about why this conversation matters so much right now, specifically. Pickleball is definitely not slowing down. The growth numbers are staggering, they'll blow your mind. And the beauty of this sport that is genuinely is for everybody. Different ages, different fitness levels, different athletic backgrounds. The inclusivity is one of the best things about the community. But inclusivity also means we have a lot of people on the court whose bodies are managing real wear, right? 50-year-olds going hard for the you know four times a week. Weekend warriors who sit at desks all day and then play two hours of a doubles on a Saturday and a Sunday. Retired athletes whose joints have been already brutally beaten and absorbed decades of load from previous sports. These players love this game. They are committed to this game, and they are repeatedly reaching for a recovery product category that was not designed with them in mind. A category that makes symptoms and keeps them in a cycle of inflammation they can never quit or get ahead of. Who's this profit? Those people selling the falsehood. It's not even the equipment. It's freaking pain they can't manage, right? And a significant portion of that pain is preventable or manageable with a smarter recovery approach, one that actually addresses what's happening at the tissue level instead of just covering it up. Guys, take this to the bank. Listen to all the other shows. We talk about a lot of simple additions or tweaks to your recovery, both preventative and post, that literally only add a few minutes to the day with what you're already doing. Okay? If this episode has helped one player get ahead of an injury that would have taken them off the court, then it's worth me and our team for any download number. Share this one, guys. This is huge. Send it to your partner. Send it to the player in the group who you know is quietly struggling with an elbow or a knee, and they're not talking about it, right? Especially men. Sometimes we hide that stuff. That person needs this information, and I can't do it alone. I need you guys. We do this together, as I always say. We reach more, we bring a better way to live, better way to play pickleball. With ultimately all of us being able to play pickleball as long as we can even imagine, right? You want that. I want that. Alright, so let me give you, leave you with a piece of practical framework. Because information without application is just, well, trivia. Before you play, guys, dynamic warm-up. We need we did the full episode on this last week, episode 17. Five moves, five minutes, no equipment. Go back and listen if you haven't. Your tissue needs to be prepared before it takes a load of pickleball. Non-negotiable. During play. Ready? Pay attention to your body's actual signals, not the masked ones. If you've been using heavy surface level product and something still hurts through it, that is your body trying to tell you something's not real. Don't override the signal. Hear it. Listen to your body. Immediately after play, apply the paddle pro bomb to every area that took significant load that session. Do not wait until the soreness peaks, guys. Okay? Prevent that stuff. Apply while your circulation is elevated from activity, right? Blood flow. Your body's already in recovery mode, and you want to give it the transdermal compounds the best possible delivery window. That's it, right there. You ever heard like beefcakes working out, buffing up their muscles? And they say, Well, you must get 50 grams of protein within the first 29 minutes of after ripping and shredding your muscle. Okay, that might sound cliche, but they're not lying. That's right. Your body went into recovery mode. That's when it's going to absorb the most, do the most, blood flow the most, all the most. Okay? Then that night, prioritize your sleep, your Z, your I'm out skis. Okay. As we covered in the earlier episodes, growth, hormone, tissue repair, inflammation regulation, all of it happens during sleep. PaddlePro Bomb is working while you sleep. Let it. Then, finally, the next morning. Check in, honestly, guys. If something is still sharp, not just sore, give it a rest day. A rest day costs you what? One session? Playing through a real injury cost you weeks. Sometimes months. Don't be dumb. Warm up before, recover after, sleep repeat. Okay? Put it on your t-shirt. That is the full protocol. That is just the standard. I want you and me to live by for our sport. All right. Recap. Most sport recovery products mask pain at the nerve ending. They don't address the inflammation at the source. Covering the symptom keeps players in a cycle of inflammation. They can never get ahead of. Your endocannabinoid system, or ECS, governs pain, inflammation, sleep, and mood. And it can be supported with the right botanical compounds. Activate it. Transdermal delivery. It means the product works through the skin, not on top of it. Your body recognizes it as bioavailable. Yep, I want that. Slurp it in. Plant-based botanical ingredients are recognized and absorbed more effectively than synthetic agents. Ugh, I hate synthetic agents. Paddle Pro Balm delivers both instant relief and simultaneously cellular recovery. The double duty difference, guys. The double duty difference. The full protocol, dynamic warm-up before, paddle pro after. Sleep like you can't wait to sleep. And listen to your body, honestly. Paddleprobaum.com, paddleprobaum.com. The link is in the show notes. Get yours today, guys. Send us some reviews. Let us know how it's helping you. Okay? I'll leave you with this. The best pickleball players you know, the ones who seem to play forever, who are still out there sharp and competitive when everyone else is nursing something, they are not just talented. They are consistent. And consistency in this sport is not about playing through pain. It's about recovering well enough so you don't have to live in pain. You deserve a recovery standard that actually matches the effort you put into this game. It's a lot. The sport is growing, and you know, I know the community is incredible. And the standard for how we take care of our bodies while we play it. That standard is overdue for an upgrade. Guys, this has been episode 18 of the Pickleball Recovery and Performance Podcast brought to you by Paddle Pro Recovery, also known as PPR.
