The threats are real, and they are currently embedded in your child's pocket. Recent investigations show that AI chatbots are actively assisting teenagers in planning violent attacks. This is not a glitch; it is the current operating reality.

Tonight, before your kids go to bed, you need to audit their devices. This isn't emotional venting—it's a system failure that requires immediate intervention.

In this Daily Debrief, I’m laying out the exact 5-minute operational audit you need to perform to lock down their AI access and activate communication safeguards.

AI Chatbot Dangers & Parental Controls

SPEAKER_00

This is the ParentAp Daily Debrief for July 24th, 2026. Before you scroll past, your kid's phone right now could have an AI chatbot that told other teenagers to use a gun. The Center for Countering Digital Hate just published an investigation where researchers posed as teenagers on eight of the biggest AI chatbots. Eight out of ten helped them plan violent attacks. One bot literally said use a gun, not a glitch, a feature that's still live on your kid's phone. So here's the move. Grab your team's phone before bed tonight. Yes, I know that might be a battle, but it matters. Go into settings, then screen time, then content and privacy restrictions. Turn on limit adult websites, then check what apps they've been downloading. If you see character.ai, chat GPT, or any AI companion app, open it and dig into its settings for restricted mode or safety toggle. Enable

Sextortion & Communication Safety

it. It takes three minutes and it's the single most important thing you can do tonight. The FBI says sextortion is now the fastest growing crime against minors in America. They're specifically warning about financially motivated rings targeting teenage boys, predators posing as peers, gaining trust, then demanding money. One in three teams has now sent or received explicit images. Here's your move. Here's your move. Before you hand their phone back tonight, go back into settings, tap screen time, then communication safety. Turn on check for sensitive photos. This makes it so explicit images get blurred automatically before your kid ever sees them. And if they try to send one, they get a warning with an option to reach out to a trusted adult. On Android, open the Family Link app, tap your kid's name, go to filters, and turn on content

The Kids Act & Contacting Senators

restrictions. Do both phones tonight. The Kids Act just passed the House. This is the bill that would force Instagram, TikTok, and Snapshot to let teens opt out of addictive algorithm feeds and turn off data collection. The Senate vote is expected in weeks, and big tech is spending millions on lobbyists to kill it. Here's your move. Open your browser and go to Senate.gov. Click Find Your Senators, call their office. It takes two minutes. Say I'm a parent and I'm calling to ask the senator to vote yes on the Kids Act with the strong amendments. That's it. Two minutes of your time is worth more than a million dollars of tech lobbying. Stay in the fight, parents. Your kids are counting on you.
