Thank you, Lord.

SPEAKER_03

Praise the Lord.

SPEAKER_05

Thank you, Jesus. Thank you. Thank you, Lord. Thank you.

SPEAKER_06

Praise your holy name.

SPEAKER_03

Thank you, Lord. Brother Jack. Thank you to the Lord in prayer.

SPEAKER_07

Thank you, Lord. Yeah. Thank you so much.

SPEAKER_00

Well, you always know that that's the Lord, because this morning I was like, I was like, yeah, it'd be nice. It's easier to talk about the Lord in front of the church when your grandpa just calls on you. Because you're not, you don't have time to talk yourself off a cliff or give yourself all these scenarios. So Amber's in the bathroom. She's in a her she's gonna be like, wow, that's crazy. You know what I mean? So that's awesome. But I am uh I'm thankful to be here as always. I'm glad to be here another Sunday. It's crazy. I was telling Amber this morning, I was like, man, I've been doing this for 11 years. It's like, man, if I go back and think about all the times when I first started, I was like, man, 11 years ago. It doesn't seem like that long because it goes by so quickly, but I think like I was thinking about Ansley and Addison because when I started coming around, they were like eight and six. They're you know, they were very little. And I remember I was telling Tim the other day, I remember there'd be like a storm on a Wednesday night, and they'd be like in tears. They were afraid of storms at the time, and it was just really funny, you know. I remember it wasn't funny at the time, it was actually really pitiful, but but now that I'm looking back and now I know them, you know, I'm like, man, that's crazy. It's been that long, and now they're you know, adults driving and going to school, and just time just goes by. And I got I got a kid seeing everyone get have get married, all these people that are new, new faces and stuff that I'm just not used to. So it's just something that's really it's really awesome, and it's uh it's just something that you reflect on over the longer you do this, the longer you're gonna reflect on those types of things. And then they they mean something to you because at the time I was you know, it's just something you see, and oh that's great, that's whatever. And then all of a sudden you're just like, Man, how did where did time go? I mean, when I came in, I was I just turned 19 years old, and I'm 30. I'm about to be 31. So I just how old are you, Jack? 19?

unknown

19.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, so like I literally came in at your age, you know what I mean? So to think that I'm 30, I'm like, holy cow, I'm old feeling, you know what I mean? Not in the sense of physically, I feel I feel pretty healthy, but you know, in the sense of like, man, I've been doing this for a while. And then at the same time, there's a there's a there's like a conviction in my heart at a lot of times, so I'm like, man, I've been dealing with this for 11 years. Whatever it is, whatever it may be. It's you know, cursing in my mind when I get upset. I just talking about that on the way on the way here. She was like, You ever think curse words? I'm like, all the time. I was like, I don't try not to, I don't say them out loud, but I just I think them, I get upset, you know. And so uh, you know, like Brother Mike was saying last service before he gave us that really awesome message, you know, I want to I want to be further than where I was 11 years ago. I'm obviously not where I want to be, but I'm somewhere in between, which I think is a good place to be. You know what I mean? I'm not backwards, I'm not forward where I need to be, but I'm somewhere right in the middle, and I'm still on the I'm still on the trek, I'm on the journey still. And uh, you know, that's something that I'm proud to be. And I'm thankful to be able to take us to prayer because it's an important thing and it's setting the the shipping channel, I'm sure a lot of you have heard. And uh Brother Connell mentioned to me last service, I think it was, or maybe the service before, he was like, Brother, you're one of our uh our more quiet ones. He's like, You don't you don't say much, but and most of you probably are like, oh, I haven't really heard him say anything in front of the church before or whatever, because I just it's an internal battle, it's one of those things, it's silly, I don't want to waste people's time, and I want to give somebody you know something good, and I just take it very serious, you know what I mean? So, and like you hear some of these other brothers get up and they're like, it's valuable time, it's valuable time. Like, what is that what does that mean? You know what I mean? What is it's it's it's a Sunday, what's it mean? Because the world looks at it as it's a Sunday, we'll be home, we'll be eating dinner, we'll be doing whatever. And then like Brother Mike said last service, you're only gonna only gonna retain about 20 minutes of whatever you hear today. So in my mind, I'm an over, over uh, what's the word? I over I'm an over-analyzer. So in my mind, I say I don't have 20 minutes of something that's gonna make somebody remember it, so there's no point in saying anything at all, which is wrong. That's that's absolutely wrong. So don't do that, don't be like me. But uh but yeah, I'm thankful that Brother Connell uh told me to do that because that's the Lord. Because like I said, I was literally talking to Amber by this morning about how I need to get up more. But because Brother Connell's always talking to me on the phone, he's like, You gotta start exercising, and I'm like, Yeah, I'm going to. And then I sit there and sit there and sit there and sit there, you know. And so to have Amber say that, well, yeah, well, maybe he will, maybe not today, but maybe he will. And then all of a sudden it happens. It's kind of that's the Lord, you know what I mean?

SPEAKER_06

Amen.

SPEAKER_00

And uh it's funny, so you know, uh testifying, talking in front of the church, and anything like that's very important. Like it, like we've I just said, it's very uh valuable time, and at the same time, it's meant to uplift and edify the church in uh you know, in any way, any way you possibly can, especially in the beginning of the service, because it's gonna set the tone for whatever happens, whatever whatever the Lord wants us to have today, whatever he wants to share with us, whether it's worship, whether it's word, whether it's both, whether it's testimonies, whatever it is. So as I was sitting there, I happen to be clicking through my or flipping through my notebook here that I I must have been doing some studying uh a while back. And you know, it's one thing the world runs to right now is like Brother Connell says, the world's kind of crazy right now. It's just very just negative and very just like against us, it's oppressive, it's very just it's kind of a lot to deal with every day sometimes. You know, and I'm I'm a type where I'm pretty chill. You know, Amber likes to say I'm a chill as a cucumber for the most part, like I'm pretty, you know, I kind of just deal with each day. But it is very overwhelming to look around and see what's going on. But then on the other side of that, you gotta have an open mind to know that what Brother Connell's saying is the truth is that the world is crazy, it's it's dark, it's you know, scary at times. But on the other side of that, there's people out there who are gonna have a chance, and those people out there who are seeking something and they're looking for something and they're wondering what well, what do they do? Well, how do I how do I deal with this? How do I go through what I'm going through? How do I deal with not having money? How do I deal with feeling anxiety that I've never felt before? How do I deal with all of these things? And I use Alex as a good example, you know, he's a best friend of mine for since I was 14 years old, and I'm 30. I'm not gonna say that no more time any more times, but I'm 30 now, so 14, 30, do the math. And like I said, anxiety is something that he's shared that he's dealt with for his whole life, as long as he can remember. And when I first started like, you know, discipling him a little bit and just kind of sharing what the Lord can do. Only thing I ever did with him, and he'll he'll always tell a Dana two, and they'll attest to this, is all I did was offer what the Lord can do for them. After that, it's up to you. You know what I mean? I can tell you what he can do for you and what he's done for me, but that's that's all I can do. It's up to you, it's up to you, it's up to me, it's up to everybody. So to be in a point now to see people listening to or getting what I feel, and then to see people in the world that I don't know, that I know what's wrong with them, and I know what can help them, I know what can what can uh give them an out. You know what I mean? And unfortunately, we live in a day and age where some people's outs are drugs, alcohol, um, sleeping around, uh, you know, suicide, whatever it may be, whatever it may be, everyone has some sort of out, and there's always a place in in your heart that's dedicated for the Lord. And I'm glad I was able to learn that at 19 instead of you know 50, instead of 60, 70, 40, when I have a whole life of stuff to deal with. And as a young person, I'm not gonna say hold I am again, but I'm young. When I started coming around, my my biggest hurdle as a young person was I need you to prove to me that this is this is real, you know what I mean? And I used to test the Lord a lot of times, and looking back, it was innocent because I just didn't know any better, but it was silly. I'd be like, Lord, if this is real, do this. And I would think of something just completely just you know off the wall, you know what I'm saying? And I remember uh I tell Alex this all the time, but the one time I finally made it up in my mind that okay, he's real, you know what I mean? Because I remember when I'd come around, you know, Jesse and everybody would talk to me, I'd be like, that's great, that's wonderful. But I need to feel what you're like, what you're telling me you've experienced, I want to feel it for myself, you know what I mean? And it's like, how do you do that, right? And it's like, well, you gotta apply yourself, of course, right? That's number one. That's with anything. So me being 19 and childish a little bit, we're in church, and at that time we were in the garage, so we had a live band and we had fold-out chairs, we didn't even have our pews yet. And we're standing in front up front, just kind of how we do now, and they're playing the live music. And I remember I was sitting there and I was like, you know, Lord, if you're real. I used to always say that, Lord, if you're real, if this is all real, if this is not a joke, if this is for real, and this is where I'm supposed to be as a 19-year-old, giving up my youth, you know what I mean? Yeah. All my friends were out getting ready to party and graduate college and do this, that, and the other. And here I am in a garage in Firestone Park, staring at a silver wall and wondering what I'm doing. You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_07

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And and it's funny now for those who have who have been there and experienced it, but it was real. You know what I mean? It was real. And I tell Amber all the time, what I felt when I was getting looking for the Lord, I wasn't looking for him. He found me when I wasn't looking. You know what I mean? That's what he does to all of us. But I remember laying my head down at night before I started coming around and coming to church and stuff. And I'd throughout the day, I was worldly. I do whatever I wanted, go to work, come home, play games, go hang out with my friends, play basketball, whatever I was doing, right? Whatever the world does, that's what I was doing. And then everything was fine all day long. Because you know why? My flesh is on the throne all day, and I there's nothing to distract me from what I was really feeling. And then I'd lay my head down at night, and then all of a sudden it was just like rushing, just everything going through my head. This is your life. You're like, you're gonna end up like your you know, like your family, uh, you're just gonna go to work, retire, and die. You know what I mean? All these things. I'm like, man, like I'm 19, I shouldn't even be thinking about these things. I should be, you know, whatever, like doing whatever a 19-year-old does. And then I'd wake up and rinse and repeat over and over to where it was miserable. It was miserable. No job was satisfying, no friends were satisfying, nothing was filling what I was feeling. And so luckily I didn't get too far into the world to where I did anything that was permanent in my life, luckily. Yes. But when I started coming around, I remember I was standing up there, like I said, and I was like, Lord, if you're real, this is the day I decided, I was like, up, this is this is it. I'm I'm all in. You know what I mean? That's why I like those shirts so much. And I was like, Lord, if this is for real, and that back then Jesse didn't get off the drums too much, you know what I mean? Like he'd be if he was playing, because it because it all you know it hold it uh hinders the music a lot. And I was like, alright, Lord, I'm gonna test the, throw, put a fleece out there, you know. And I had just read the story about Gideon and putting fleeces out, and I'm like, alright, well, if this is for real, I'm like, you you have Jesse stop playing his drums, come over here and forbade him, tell me that this is where I'm supposed to be doing, I'm doing the right thing, something along those lines. I opened my eyes and he's standing in front of me. And I, and and then I just started, I just broke down. And then, you know, who knows? That could have been the service I got the Holy Ghost. I have no idea, but uh and that that day I decided, I'm like, that's it. That's all I needed to see, that's all I needed to fe to feel. That was proof enough. I'm not gonna keep testing the Lord in that way because uh he he had done it so many times, he had already shown me so many times, and at that point, it I felt like I was disrespecting him to go any further and keep asking him, you know what I mean?

SPEAKER_07

Sure.

SPEAKER_00

And even today I still I still do it. And like you've heard the story, Brother Connell shared it once. When we were looking for our home, you know, it was stressful. Looking for a house is stressful, especially in today's you know, market and day and age, and I took my boat out by myself, which I never do, but I just was stressed. I was stressed going through things, and you know, so I'm out in Nimesilla and I'm I'm on my boat and I'm fishing and just like praying, talking to the Lord. That's one thing I liked about going out on my on my boat, my kayaks or whatever, is that nobody can hear what I'm saying? Nobody, it's just me and and the Lord, and that's it, you know. And I was going through it, you know what I mean? I just I'm I'm a pretty I hold it together pretty well, but I just I was ready to be done. I was like, man, what is going on? Like I've we've done all this stuff, Lord. Why aren't you listening? Are you are you hearing me at all? You know what I mean? Did I do something wrong? This so what's going on here? Why don't I have an answer? Why don't I feel peace? Why don't I feel all these things? So again, I went back to my 19-year-old self at 28 and I said, okay, Lord, well, let me let me just get some sort of confirmation, even if it's not that the answer I want to hear, just let me know that you're listening to me. I said, Lord, sit simple. The Lord's very simple. Even with the disciples, he was very, very simple. And I just said, Lord, put a fish on the end of this line on this cast right here. On this cast right here, if you if you're listening to me when I when I'm talking to you. I'm telling you, as soon as it hit the water, it was gone. I start reeling this fish, and I'm in, um, these people are probably, you know, they're in this cove at Nemesilla that I like to go in. They're kayaking or whatever, they're seeing me probably in tears while I'm reeling in this fish, and I'm falling all over my boat because it's rocking back and forth. And you know, and I sat down and I held this fish, and I just started bawling my eyes out in my boat, and I was like, man, that's all I needed. And like, and but then I felt convicted because I'm like, man, I was like, I said I wouldn't do this no more. You know what I mean? But the Lord's so gracious and stuff, you get to go back and fall on those things so easily, and and I encourage everyone to do that. Don't beat yourself up the way I do, you know, where I should I'm not gonna do that no more, and then you know, he'll use that against you, but uh in a good way. So, anyways, as I'm sitting there in the chair, and I like I like I mentioned, me and Amber were just talking about this this morning, and it just so so happens, Brother Connell asks. I happened to be studying on the disciples like a while back, and I was flipping through. And as a young person, like I was saying, just to circle back, as I was saying, one thing for me is uh I need to I need to know that it's true, right? I need to have some sort of logical explanation because how do I how do I love the Lord, someone I've never met, someone I've never seen physically, met physically? How do I serve him properly, right? Or or do the right things as a Christian or do any of those things? How do I do that without that? Because how do I treat you, how do I treat Brother Luke good? How do I treat Sister Pat good? How do I treat Brother Jason Maley good if I can't even you know, how can I serve the Lord if I can't uh treat my brothers the way that the Lord wants me to treat him, treat him? You know what I'm saying? Right. And so logical, again, analyzing, that's kind of how my brain works. I need logic, I need whatever. So you start you start thinking about the disciples. So there's a book called Fox's Book of Martyrs. And Brother Connell told me about it, maybe when I first started coming around, and I found it online and I was reading through it and stuff. And uh what I like about it is that it's a biblical book from a non-biblical standpoint. So, meaning it's about Bible philosophers and people who are around during Jesus' day and witnessed him do the things he's that he's written that's written that he's done. And there's a per there's a man in the Bible, his name is Josephus, and you've probably heard about him. He was around about 50 years after Jesus' uh death, but he was alive during that time. So he was able to witness some of these things. He was able to see the disciples living after Jesus' death. And he's he he was a writer, he was an author, he started writing these things down because he was like, well, you know, he has his own book. So you start reading this thing, and then you start hearing about all these disciples and how they died. And again, this is not in the Bible, it's it's history. It's history books you can look up at a library. And to me, that that stuck with me because I like history and and to know that it's right there, it's history, black and white. It's somebody who's not a Christian saying this is what happened to them.

SPEAKER_07

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

And even and even they can't figure out why would these people die for something that was not true? You know what I mean? Why were they willing to die for something that's not true? And so I wrote down what happened to all those brothers, all of our brothers, pretty much. And I was sitting back there, and it's like, here I am, you know, I get the blessings that I get, you know what I mean? And and the and the fish on the end of my line, and and Jesse getting off his drums and a son and all these different things, a house, a car, you know, whatever it is, everything you should be thankful for everything. They're all blessings, right? So I'm gonna read through these, and you tell me, you just you made you decide for yourself, do you think any of these people would decide to die than the deaths that they did that that they did for something that wasn't true? Because the the historical the historical story that people go with, the Romans tried telling everybody that the disciples stole his body out of the tomb, and that and then that didn't work because people were like, that's not true, we've seen him. We've seen him, you're lying. And then they were like, okay, well, he never died. He never died. Anything that they could come up with to try to explain the unexplained is what they tried to do, right? They tried to rationalize everything because they were looking at it through natural eyes and not spiritual eyes, and all the disciples believed it. They knew what was going to happen because the Lord told them. They had witnessed everything, they had seen everything. People watched them walk on water, people watched them heal the dead, heal the lame, heal the blind. They watched them do all of these things, but yet they still, I need more, I need more proof, Lord, just like me. You know what I mean? And so I'm gonna read through these, and you just you put yourself in their shoes and you tell me if it was if it was worth it. When all you had to do was say, nope, it was a lie, we we stole his box, make up anything to survive, right? Simon Peter, crucified upside down, right? So crucifixion is a horrific, horrific death if you look it up on what happens beforehand and during. You know what I mean? Absolutely horrific. Not only did he get crucified, right, which is already already like they treat you, that means you were like the scum of the earth if they did that to you, right? He knew that that was his fate, but yet he says, Don't crucify, I'm not worthy enough to be crucified the same way my Lord was. So if I'm gonna die right now and get crucified, you put me upside down because I don't want to be the same way he is. And that's that that's that's terrible. You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_07

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

James, not the brother of Jesus, beheaded, head chopped off. That I mean, it's gruesome, but think about that. Andrew, crucified on an X-shaped cross, same reasoning as Peter, he didn't want to be crucified the same way as the Lord. Philip, stoned to death, and then stoned and then crucified. Bartholomew or Nathaniel, fillet alive, means his skin was cut off of his body, and beheaded. Thomas, doubting Thomas, he was speared to death. Matthew, stabbed and burned to death. James, the brother of Jesus, half-brother of Jesus, stoned and clubbed to death. Clubbed and crucified. Simon the zealot, sawed in half. And then I couldn't find anything about Matthias. He he filled in for Judas after Judas died by suicide, uh hanging in a field. But his situation is different, of course. But you tell me if you're willing to get filled alive for something that's not true. So I say all that to say what we have here is real. We get to live it every day. We don't have to worry at this time about being crucified, about being speared to death, about being filleted alive, boiled alive, sawed in half, all these things, these horrific, horrific things that happen to these people. We don't have to experience that. So we have more reason to serve the Lord and more reason to go forward and to see all the things that we get to do. All anyone who's new here, who's gotten to witness the things that the Lord's doing, you're here for a reason. You're sitting here in these walls, every service for a reason, and you're thinking about it, and you're saying, Lord, is this real? Lord, is this where I'm supposed to be? Lord, is this, that, this, that, and the other? You're gonna keep saying it, you're gonna keep saying it forever, right? Always lean back on this. If it's not real, then what is? And if me and Matt had this conversation ten years ago, I remember this. At the end of the day, even if you're one of those people that's on the fence, if it's at the end of the day and you're and you're saying, okay, well, maybe it isn't. Okay, well, say you go your whole life serving the Lord and it wasn't real, then what? You lived your life to the best of your ability to be the greatest person you could possibly be. There's not a single thing in the Bible that won't enhance your life in some way, as long as you're learning and applying yourself. So I just encourage the church to apply yourself, and that's in all things, right? Take heed to what Brother Tim and Jesse and Brother Connell say to us, and Brother Matt, and Brother Mike Mathis last service. That was amazing. I've been sitting, I told Amber this morning lately, my blessing hasn't been coming from the worship as much, it's been coming from the word. I'd sit in my chair, just ball my eyes out, because it's just it's just it's it's just relevant and it's true, and it's it's uh it's everything, and I just can't imagine getting to be one of those disciples and sit around the fire and and eat and sit there and hear what the Lord's got to say to you. And just I'm sure they did the same thing. They probably sat and balled their eyes out and just were like, man, this is this is unreal. Why do you think Peter was so offended that Jesus said, I'm gonna go ahead and I'm gonna die and I'm gonna be gone? Why do you think he was so offended? Because of because of everything he got to witness and everything he got to feel. And uh there's a sister Ashel has a thing in her bathroom, and it's a saying that it's a saying that we've all said before where uh someone helped me where it um people might might not remember what you said.

SPEAKER_06

Exactly. Well, what is it? How's it go, brother? People might not remember what you said. People might not remember what what you said, might not even remember uh gifts you give them.

SPEAKER_00

They might not remember a gift that you gave them, but they'll always remember how you made them feel, but they'll always remember how you made them feel.

SPEAKER_06

That's so true.

SPEAKER_00

And even in my worst where the Lord makes me feel bad for me, it's always good, it's always with good intent, it's always with with a uh with a with a father's love. You know what I mean? That's all it is. And you know, we're starting to correct Ezra here and there because he's at that age where you gotta start telling him no, you gotta start getting stern with him. And it is it's hard sometimes. She's like, Man, he's so. Little, how you makes you feel bad, you know what I mean? But then it it really is there's a difference with a father, it's just different. And I know this because my own father, but there'd be times where Amber's telling him, No, no, Ezra, no, Ezra, no, Ezra, and he just ain't getting it. He's just not getting it. And he's just whatever it's mom, he just ain't getting it, you know what I mean? And then I come in the room and I'm a little bit more stern, and then he starts creaking, starts quivering his lip, and he starts crying, and he and he's and he sees that there's something different, what's going on here? And the Lord's no different with us. I do that because I love him and I want to see him learn and not not be a bad kid when he gets older, you know what I mean? And the Lord does that to me. You know, the Lord says, Jay, you gotta start getting up.

SPEAKER_07

Very good.

SPEAKER_00

You gotta start being willing, you know what I mean? Somebody said it last service, everyone says they're willing, but are you really willing?

SPEAKER_07

That's it.

SPEAKER_00

I've said that before, but everyone says they're willing, but are you really? You know what I mean? I'm eating my I eat crow a lot of times because I'm like, well, shoot, I'll am I? You know, you know, and it's it's it's important. So uh going into this service, just like everything I just said, you're gonna get what you put into it. You know what I mean? You're gonna get what you put into it. I encourage anyone who's on the fence, who's uh feeling like they like that is it real? Am I supposed to be here? Is it how come we don't have a building? How come we don't have these things? Pray about it. Ask the Lord, ask Brother Connell, ask Jesse, ask, you know, I one thing I do with Alex, I did it with Ronnie as well, is I encourage them to make get a relationship with with all three of them and brother Mike. I'm like, make them get a relationship with them, spend as much time as you can with them, call them, talk to them, go out to eat, do whatever. I'm like, that's what helped me. That's what helped me. I mean, obviously Jesse, I spent a lot of time with him, so he helped me a lot. But but as I got older, I was like, all right, brother Connell, I'd uh what about Kate man? What about this? What about that? You know what I mean? I asked him everything you could think of. I was like, throwing it at him like I used to fill, we used to have a question box. I'd have 50 papers in there of just silly stuff. And then eventually he was like, brother, some of this stuff don't matter. I was like, well, that's fair. That's fair. I got it. I was like, okay, got it. That's that's fine. I got it, that's good enough for me. You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_07

That's good, man.

SPEAKER_00

Because uh me and Alice get to talking at work sometimes, and he'll be asking me similar stuff that I used to ask, and then sometimes I'll tell him it don't it don't matter. I don't know. I'm like, we're gonna have eternity to figure it out. So I don't I don't know, whatever it is, cavemen, whatever, you know, you know, dinosaurs, I don't know. So uh, but yeah, so like you said, be happy. You know, be cheerful. And like you said, if you're trying to get the Holy Ghost, it's easy. Do it, just get it. That's it, that's it. I mean, it's really we we really overthink it a lot, and everyone's like, well, brother Jay got it in 20 servers. Listen, the only thing that stops you from getting the Holy Ghost is yourself. There ain't there ain't nobody, there ain't nobody, and I know it takes all it takes some help, you know, trust me. You guys have seen me sweating to death trying to get someone to get the Holy Ghost in here. And I've been lucky enough to help a few people get get it in here. Jason Maley helped him get it, Mike Williams helped him get it, uh not Alex Brandon when he was here, and and the list goes on. Anyone else who might have been here, you know. And it takes that. But you know what, you know what stops you for really? And and it is what it is. Pride. I don't want someone to see me look silly. Well, guess what? If you get embarrassed enough and you never come back again, then what? You know what I mean? So like when I got it, you know, I I sat there, and the reason it was easy is because one, I was like, okay, well, if I get embarrassed enough and I get offended, I'll leave. I'll never have to see them again. But then it was but then of course, you know, that's silly, of course. I was 19, so that's silly. But the way I looked at it was, okay, well, I'm I see other people doing more stuff than what I'm doing here, right? Like, I mean, I seen I seen Sister Michelle get the quakes like in the first 20 services, I was like, I'm ready to go. Like, what's going on here? You know what I mean? I had a bad experience before I came to the Gospel Truth Assembly that in a hotel room that was crazy. I think it was like a hotel church, and there was people bouncing off the walls in the refrigerator. It was crazy. Ask me about that sometimes. I was like, yeah, these people got something going on. I don't know what I don't know what it ain't the Lord, but I don't know what it is. So uh to come into our church, you know, and and you got you guys, now that you guys have all been here for long enough, you gotta see when the new people come in, we tone it down. You know what I mean? You know, you don't make people feel uncomfortable and scared. And a lot of it sometimes isn't even the Lord, you know what I mean? It's just you get you're you get you know you get excited or whatever. And so if you're trying to get the Holy Ghost, quit worrying about what what we what we think. I mean, most of us, most of you have known us for five, six, seven years. If that's what's gonna cause you to never come back again, is the way I might look at you, I'm like, dang, look at that person over there. You know what I mean? So just don't don't be scared. That's all I say that to say you're you're only you're only like Jesse always says this, and I really like it a lot. And I uh look, I mean, I'm a I'm in a different position because I didn't have to struggle to do the lot of these things because I just it's kind of in my personality, I'm kind of just go with the flow tub with most things to a fault. And so uh Jesse says this a lot, or maybe it's Tim, one of them said they probably both say it, and that it's a it's a gift, you don't have to beg for it. It's right there, it's right there. It's it's for your taking. The Lord's not the Lord's not going like this with it. Reach out, reach your hand up. Yes. He's not doing this, you know what I mean? He's just and he's just waiting for you're going like this. You you're you know, you're being weird, you know what I mean? So uh reach up and grab it. Reach up and grab it. It's that easy, it's really that easy, and it's it's it's a it's a lot, you know. I laughed because uh when I when I came in here and I got it, everybody's like, yeah, it's been 10 years, I haven't got it yet. You know what I mean? I was like, really? Really? How come? You know what I mean? And at the time Matt was like, it took me seven, eight years. And I was like, why? You know what I mean? Because it was easy for me. So I didn't understand I didn't understand, you know. And uh not in like a bad way, but I was like, oh what's I don't understand what's going on? Is that it's right there, you know what I mean? But you know, you you question things, and and you, you know, even Alex after he got hit, but everyone does it. When you get it, you question it, did I really get it? Yeah, is it real? Oh, yeah. Did I really speak in tongues? You know what I mean? And so I was like, and that's why anytime somebody gets it, I tell them, don't question it when you walk out of here because you're going to. I'm like, you're gonna lay in your bed tonight and be like, oh, that wasn't for real, that was me. You know what I mean? That's the less the flesh trying to take take a blessing away from you, you know what I mean? So if you're trying to get it, just press in. You know, Jesse always says that he's really good at getting us excited, and you know, you can always count on Jesse to uh he just loves it, man. He shh I ain't never seen somebody get so excited when somebody gets the Holy Ghost or is close, you know. And so it's really important, like I said, if you haven't spoken tongues in a while, get it again. It's that easy. You gotta re get it. You gotta re-get it. You know what I mean? It's necessary. The Lord died for it, so it's necessary. And you gotta believe that. You gotta believe that. There was a there was a reason he said it's expedient that I go, and it's also go go to Jerusalem and do not depart. Do not do not. Yes, he didn't he didn't he didn't give a um an option. It wasn't say if, it wasn't anything. He said, do not. That is a commandment, because it is do not. There is no other alternative, there is no other path but to stay until you receive power upon high. So, like you said, if you're trying to get the Holy Ghost, please press in. Please. If you need help, if you need questions, if you do no matter how silly they are, I told you I was asking questions about cavemen and dinosaurs. It can't be worse than that. So if you have questions about the Holy Ghost, if you if you're like, well, I just can't, I just can't do that. I'm like, Alex said he would never do that. Uh we were at we was at work and he said, I don't think I don't think I would ever do that. And I was like, that's what they all say.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

That's what I told him those exact words, that's what they all say. He's like, I don't think Dana would ever do that. And I was like, they all say that. I'm like, they all say it. Like, it don't matter what you think. You know what I mean? Respectfully, it doesn't matter what you think, because it if the Lord wants you to get it and you're open-minded enough, you're gonna get it. It's that simple. So anybody got any prayer requests, anything, anything like that? Anything going on what's going on with there with the with the saints? Anyone have anything they want to bring up, brother Tim? Okay. Sister Loretta's got having some back pain. She's doing some heavy lifting over the week.

SPEAKER_05

The Mathises.

SPEAKER_00

The Mathises, they're on, they're out of they're out of town. They're on a trip uh visiting some family, I think. Yeah. Jason. Sister Becky's got some back pain as well.

SPEAKER_06

I'd like to have a prayer request by Jason. Uh my father-in-law is back for the 13th Organic, and I'd like to pray for him and then just please remember the the Huggins family down south and call his mother Paul. Sure. Remember Luke and Courtney in your prayers.

SPEAKER_00

Alright, Brother Williams is back. He he is got having some back trouble as well. Back trouble is the most miserable thing on the face of the planet. If anybody knows about it, it's me, because there was about three or four, three years ago, actually. Uh I did, I don't know what I did to it. I did something, I had a lower lumbar, severe lower lumbar strain, and I was walking around my house with a chair as a walker. It was so bad. And I it was, I mean, Jesse came over and had to come over and pray for me. It was so bad. I could I couldn't get out of bed. It was like a knife was stabbing it. It's miserable. So definitely I can I can I can feel that prayer, and that's something I can verbally pray for because I understand.

SPEAKER_06

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

You know, you know, sometimes when we pray for people, if you don't, you know, if someone's like, I got you know, liver trouble and I don't understand what that feels like, I can pray for you, but I can't have the sympathy, I can't have true sympathy for you because I don't know what it's like, you know what I mean? So with something like back pain, I I I 100% know what it's like. Something like getting the Holy Ghost, I 100% know what it's like to get it. You know what I mean? Not to not to really have to fight too hard for it, but uh, I know how to get it, so I can help you with that. And yeah. So it's be prayerful. Anyone else got any requests? Adeline. Right. Okay. Okay. Pretty serious uh issues, the young people, you know, Jessica's friend um Carney. So keep our keep all of our young people in your uh in your prayers, because it like I told Amber on the way here, man, it's a it's a man, it's hard. I can't even imagine. It was hard in 2013 when I was a teenager still, and it's hard, it's even harder now in 2026. So be praying for the young people. And you know, one of these days, uh, before 20 before COVID, Brother Connell asked me to come up with uh like a like a sermon almost uh about like courting and things like that. And I I found it actually at my house because COVID kind of derailed everything, but I found all my studies and stuff in a note in my notebook. So maybe one day we'll we'll talk about that and it'll it'll it'll help with young people and just kind of where we're at right now, especially now. It's it's you know it's very prudent and stuff. So um be praying for my mom. She's just got some she's got some kidney trouble, so she's doing dialysis and stuff, and then uh I think that's pretty much the the gist of what's going on. Um so yeah, just be praying for that that all goes good and hopefully keeps her out of the hospital and things, things like that. Pray for all of our works, everyone who works, you know, just gotta nowadays five dollars a gallon, you gotta get prayed for that. So you know what I mean? So be praying for that. And uh I guess I guess if we can all stand up then my mom. Yes, sister dot, sister dot. She's uh having it pretty rough over there at the at the uh at the home there. She's ninety-four. Ninety three. She'll be ninety-four this year, so that's a long life. That's hard. That's a that's a long life. Brother Tim.

SPEAKER_08

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Sure, sure. Yeah, Brother Tim's one in prayer to uh to share the gospel, to share it with his family down there in West Virginia. Uh we'll pray for him to have a good trip down there right after service. So uh yeah, make sure you're safe down there and just hopefully get a chance to plant some seeds, like you said, you know what I mean? And uh pray for Sister Loretta as well and all the requests that you guys heard. Uh my memory is almost as bad as Matt's, not terribly, but so just make sure everyone, all those requests, you know, I'll try to remember them all. But more than all these things, Lord, I mean, these this is all important, and and you know, we'll make sure we lift our voice for prayer, but uh pray for the service. Pray that we have a good service here and you get something out of it. Like you said, we get our brains are gonna withhold 20 to 30 minutes of whatever takes place here. So it's important that it's something that alters our life forever. So all right, Lord, we come to you. We ask you to bless this service. Lord, we ask you to hear all these requests that were that were brought up. Sister Dot, Lord, over in that home as she as she deals with her old age, Lord, and all the different things that's going on with her, Lord. We ask that you touch that situation, Jesus. Brother Tim and Sister Loretta, Jesus. We ask that you touch her back, Lord, all those different things. The Huggins family down in North Carolina, Jesus. Whatever's going through his mind. And he hopefully he hears this message, Lord, and and feels your presence, Lord. Looking for me. Teresa and Kevin, down in down south, Jesus. Pastor, Lord. Lord, we invite you in here today, Lord. We invite you to come in here and be in your be in our presence with us, Lord. This is your church, Jesus, and we ask that you come in and speak to us.

SPEAKER_06

Show us, Lord. Keep us all safe. We have to have you. Appreciate you, Lord. Touch them, Lord.

SPEAKER_00

Ask that you come in here, Lord, and you bless this service, Lord, and you take us up on the higher ground, Jesus. Anyone who wants the Holy Ghost, Lord, we ask that you just put an ease on their mind to let them know it's right out in front of them. They just have to reach out and take it, Lord. Jesus, in your precious name, Lord, we love you. We appreciate you. We ask you to bless this service, Jesus. Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah.

SPEAKER_06

Thank you today, Lord. Thank you today, Lord. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Lord, thank you, Jesus.

SPEAKER_03

Praise God, praise God. Thank you, Jesus. Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.

SPEAKER_01

I I I just want to say something. Thank you, Lord, for bringing us all together and I appreciate everything you do for us all. And uh continue to look over us and grow in uh spiritual uh knowledge and to give us the strength to go on and do your will. And uh but hey, she had a special touch touched me hard yesterday. And helped me grow just a little quite a bit just over that time. And I know here I've been trying to uh yet my uh I've got knee surgeries coming up, okay. But trying to lose weight, trying to exercise to get things stronger to where I can get through that time whenever he he he uh they that I do the that. But and I usually when I exercise, I go in the basement and I exercise down there and I put I like to uh put on uh Brother Connell's some of his sermons put on while I'm exercising and uh uh Bob Mauser and uh Mike McKenzie uh at uh uh I can't at that their their uh church. And but uh yesterday I I didn't do that yesterday morning and for some reason I think the Lord wanted me to get another message, and I got uh on YouTube and I got uh a movie that was uh called uh Pardon by Grace. And watching that it was about this uh man, he was probably in his 30s at the time, or maybe maybe in the 20s, and he'd been in trouble all his life, gave his parents trouble and everything else, and he uh uh an addict uh drunk and he had anything, but anyway, he ended up going to prison. Went to prison for a while, and uh it was like two years, and uh while he was in prison, he got with uh uh people that uh uh a church, a church within the prison. And he learned the Lord and he made all kinds of progress on this, and and then when he went to Warden to be uh go home, you know, he said that you were an idol. I mean, uh not an idol, uh an inspiration for what he went through and what he learned. He even taught others, brought others to the that uh and anyway he went, and it was about six months later, he ended up going back to the same old routine, went up and then he got in big trouble again, then he ended up going back to prison. Went to prison and uh he was in and out. This guy he was out and out like 20, 30, 40 times. And uh he uh the second time whenever he was getting the the warden got on uh you know talked to him and talked to him about Christ, you know, the uh the Lord and Christ and everything about he says that uh how he had uh uh disappointed himself that uh Scott was his name, and he's uh that he you how how are you gonna do what are you gonna do when you get out? And he says that he will never go back and stuff. And he said, Well that's what you said last time. He says that uh he said that uh the Lord he said, let me get this together here. Um that he said that you give up on yourself, and he said you walked away from the only person that will not walk away from you, that he will be there with you all the time. Yes, that Jesus Christ will be always with you there. He's the only one that will not give up on you. And he said that uh he says in the exercise, he went down and he always done exercise and built up his body and stuff, and here I'm thinking to myself, you know, I'm exercising, I exercise and stuff. And he says, You do that, what do you do that for? He says, to make myself, you know, to be stronger. He says, you do that to be stronger, right? He says, Yeah. He says, he says, well, take, you know, to be stronger, you need to take in every day the word to start make you strong, to keep you strong, to continue on with the Lord. Amen. And anyway, he went on, and after that he went in, it was like two years later, he ended up going back again, and uh he uh ended up going to Florida, talked to his dad's dad, and that never had nothing to do with him. He went to Florida, this guy was in Illinois, and went to Florida, went down there and uh tried to straighten up, and he ended up uh uh getting a uh a ruckus and he ended up stealing the car and took off and the police pulled him over. And uh uh he uh they but anyway this is a long story, I guess I'm dragging this on too much. But he was in trouble there and uh for expired license. He just pulled him over for he was going too fast and stuff, but then then when they pulled his tick, uh his expired pet uh uh driver's license and stuff, and he had to go to court, but anyway, he went back to Illinois. And it was a few years later he got associated with the church. He got associated with the church and uh he got it and then he he straightened up. He started doing the the pastor, gave him some work to do around there. He said, or uh, do you work or whatever? And he and so anyway he done that and he done he made all kinds of progress there. He was being he even was uh uh given stuff in the church and stuff to do.

SPEAKER_06

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

And but anyway, this came back to him. It finally caught up with him, where he had uh that he well at the time he was in charge of that prison that he went to, that he went there, that the pastor got him to go and to do pastor work because he had brought it up sometime about helping prisoners. So he went up there and he was uh in charge of that church, and that was going on for a while and they was doing real good, and then he went in there one day to check in and they wouldn't let him in. He says, You're not well, I've been here, you know me and everything, you can let me in. And he says, Well, you got a felony on your record. You got a felony, you're not allowed into prison anymore. So he went to the pastor and talked to him and and talked to him about it, and he uh he uh decided that I'm gonna go and I'm gonna take care of it because they told him, see, you'll be in prison for 20 years or whatever, everything was going on 20 years or more. But but he went, he said, I'm gonna do it. And then they, I guess the church even gave him uh for a lawyer to to uh represent him. And the lawyer said, told him, he said, Well, you can do a plea deal and stuff like that. He said, No. He says, I'm pleading guilty to it all. He says, I gotta pay for what I've done. And uh But anyway, at the end of at the end of it there where they went to court, they were going to go like it was consecutive, like 20 years for like four different things. He would have been in there for the rest of his life. And uh he uh uh went through it all and then then the at the end where they're going to do the sentencing, they asked if they could talk to him about the uh, you know, I think it was I forget who it was, that it wasn't him, it was not the lawyer, it was uh some other of the family. Oh, it was a pre the the the reverend uh asked if they could there were some letters that he had that people had done and that that and there was like hundreds of letters from different people, even ones that they went into prison with and everything else. By the time it was all over with, the judge uh judge I asked him one more time. He told him about what was going on, what would happen. He says, You want how do you plead, guilty or not guilty? Because he told him earlier that guilty. And he said, guilty. And just before that, he he tore something, he tore a paper up, the the judge did, and after it was all over with, he says, Pardon, says the the uh the the charges are dropped, cord over. And he was able to get through that. So I I think of what I thought about, and I broke, I don't know if it was at that point or not, but that's when I broke down whenever he was pardoned. Now the Lord is pardoning us all from all our past. Praise God. Past everything we've gone through. That's right. And he pardons us all. And but anyway, that's more or less what I wanted to say. Uh thank you, Jesus. Yeah, thank you, I praise God. Oh. Praise God. I got to thinking about the pork. For some reason it came on me about the pork, Jesus going to the that island. I can't think of the name of the island where he went to where the madman came out and the uh uh had all the better. All the demons and stuff in him. And Jesus, I don't know if you pardon, but anyway, made uh demons, delivered the demons out of them. And but uh the people there, I don't know if that I know or were they Jewish or not?

SPEAKER_06

No, I don't think so.

SPEAKER_01

No, okay. I I don't know, but I I want to do more research on it. I wasn't gonna say anything about it, but I wouldn't do more research on it first. But the way I look at it, and I don't know if I'm wrong or what or how, but pork, you know, they say that pork is bad to eat. You know, that's that was one of the old laws, under the old laws. And when he delivered those out of the went into the swine. Went into the swine and they jumped into the ocean and drowned. Okay. The people didn't like it. That was their their income. That was where they got their riches from. And like getting rid of the pork out of our bodies, uh getting rid of our sins, trying and trying to and help how Jesus to deliver Christ Jesus to deliver those out of our bodies. The pork was taken from them, but they wanted them back. So we have to take whatever pork is delivered from us to not want it, to be glad that it's gone. Yeah. And I don't know, I gotta do more research on it, so thank you. Thank you.

SPEAKER_06

Thank you, Lord.

unknown

Thank you, Joseph.

SPEAKER_02

I can feel it. And I'm thankful I can feel it. Because if I didn't feel it, there would be a problem. And I'm thankful and I appreciate your work, Brother Tim, and Brother Jay. I thought about what my father used to have to spank us. He always tells us that, oh, this is hard to hurt me working, it's gonna hurt you. And I would say, well, why do it? You know, why just let me alone and don't spank me if I I don't understand. And then when I have my children and I I do exactly what my father was talking about, it would hurt me and I would have to spank my children or watch them be high to go by the father or whatever, and it was for their own good. And I pour in the bed with a crowd because it would it would hurt people. I think about the Lord has been done. That's why I told somebody else. I always want to be a good standing with the Lord because I've had many of things, and I'm sure I'll have many more, you know, to bring things to bear. But I know when you reach out to him and you talk to him, he's like you said, Rick Timmy's always there. He won't walk away. We're the one who walked away. We got him from the trip. I had to put my things away, and I've been about an hour and I was leaving on my phone and uh because you know, the only way that you know Mike can get a hold of me and or anybody, and I thought, wow, if people were calling, I've been upstairs, I went to the basement, I looked through the house, I looked, I was carrying the laundry down, I thought maybe I actually threw it in the washing machine. I don't know. But as he starts calling and he doesn't realize a home, he may get worried or thinking, wow, she made a home. Okay, or and I I was over at the washing machine and I I look through that and I pray. Or let somebody call so my phone will ring. I don't even care if it's a scam call, just let it ring so I can uh detect words out in the home and I can go to it and I'll spin my wheels because it's in the last 30 minutes looking for it. And so I mean, almost instantly my phone rang. And I don't have to say who the sister water was somebody or sister, and my phone rang, I picked it up, I thought, praise the Lord, and I told her the story, and I thought, thank you, Lord. I mean, but that and I thought, well, we think sometimes the Lord doesn't hear us, he doesn't see us, and things like you were talking about Brother Chaber, the fish. I I enjoy those stories. And I and it's so true because you can ask him something simple and that just shows you he's listening and watching on everything you do. My mother used to say, I know what you do, and the Lord knows what you do, and you think that I don't know what you do. And she I always felt like there were too many eyes in the sky watching me. And then when I got older and my spirit got harder and more bitter, and this and that, and the world crept in. I I could I could just not think about that. And then the Lord would start bringing things to bear in my life and let me know I see you, I'm watching you. I don't care what's going on that you think the way this should be or that should be, it's how I want it to be at this time, at this dispensation, at this time. And I thank the Lord for my brothers and sisters that want to do this journey and walk this wall, because I know sometimes the road can get rocky and it can get hard with whatever's going on, work, job, families, school, anything. And I thank the Lord for his peace when he brings that peace on. Thank you, Brother Alex, for setting that up. And we let the family know how to how to tune in. And someone had listened to Brother Matt, and they, that's Brother Matt, I'm like, yes. And I'm thankful because I know today they'll they'll listen in again. You know, the word's gonna go out. And it's up to us to just shine our light and just let people be and let them hear it, because I thought, Lord, whatever my family hears. I know they know we're walking the wall, and I had somebody write in a car from down south. Well, they couldn't have been more to me than a million dollars. That they watched us. And I know they had all the good stuff, and I've got to open our things there. Because I couldn't experience that. So I knew what they were feeling. And they wrote from their heart how they had watched us and entirely, and they love us, they love this assembly and watch the people, and I don't think you're you open the eyes of those that you choose to open. God pray for my family. Why can I love our family? But he'll love it and I didn't miss him. Then again, there would be something wrong with me. Because I should have the love to pray for and ask the Lord to have mercy on me, just as he had mercy on me. That's right. And I've heard thank you about the truth. Praise God down in my heart.

SPEAKER_06

Oh God. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Lord.

SPEAKER_04

Well, I think that um God's a marvelous God. Those of yins that's battling to, like Brother Jay was saying, I appreciated Brother Jay's words, didn't you?

SPEAKER_06

Amen.

SPEAKER_04

And um I was telling um uh Tim and Jess that um uh God moved on Brother Jay today, and you could see the Spirit of God all over Brother Jay. And so when God moves on any individual, that's where you want to let the fountain flow.

SPEAKER_06

There you go. Amen.

SPEAKER_04

Might be Brother Matt, it might be Al, it might be anybody.

SPEAKER_06

That's right.

SPEAKER_04

If you've got an open mind to God, you know that's one of the most important things to come to the house of God with is a spiritual mind. Uh natural mind doesn't receive the things of God, and we can all get natural minded, and if we was ever in a time that was uh that we need God to touch our minds and help us to look beyond what's around us, it's now. We're in a terrible world, folks. Do you know how dark it is out there?

unknown

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

It's dark because all you have to do is turn on your cell phone and you'll see how dark it is. And then we got all this baloney going on. You know, all these churches and just a feel-good message and go home in 45 minutes and and feel good about going to church. All that's baloney. That's right. That ain't gonna get you to heaven. It might open the door for God to deal with you about something else, but it certainly ain't gonna get you where you need to get. But back to this thought is that when when God uses any of us, uh, we need to be spiritual enough, put away all of our own feelings, and I think the church service ought to go this way, and I think it should go that way. That's right. We don't have a program here. Our program depends upon what God wants to do in the midst of us. And so whoever God chooses to use, we need to recognize that and get behind them and lift them up.

unknown

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

One of the things that always impressed me was that on the day of Pentecost, even though a lot of those men that was around Peter, the rest of the leaven, uh, they didn't care a whole lot for his temperament.

unknown

No, they didn't.

SPEAKER_04

But when he stood up, they stood up with him.

unknown

There you go.

SPEAKER_04

And that's what we're trying to do in this little assembly is to get us all to stand together.

SPEAKER_07

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

Get our faith all united together, come into the house of God, expecting God to move in the midst of us and say, if I can help, here I am, Lord. It's not what you know, it's your availability. It's you being available to God. I thought of our brother Tim today getting up here, and he's always telling me that I try to say things and it just don't come out right. Well, God's uh trying to get him to see just like the little movie he saw, and he shared it with us. He's he's trying to get his mind spiritual. That's right. He's trying to find spiritual things to think on instead of natural carnal things. If you think on natural things all the time, and there's never no God in your mind, and there's never no meditation on the things of God, your heart will become just a natural-minded heart. And your heart isn't down here, your heart's up here. That's why there's so many scriptures that relate to the heart. But I was appreciated, I appreciated seeing God get a hold of our brother Jay. And so when I see God get a hold of somebody, I want to get behind him and lift them up. Here, go over here, pray here, go over there, go here. Because when the Spirit of God's on somebody, we need to use every drop that God gives us to whoever it may be.

SPEAKER_06

Amen.

SPEAKER_04

And uh and when you look at God, he's a magnificent God. Those of you that's going through battles, like Brother Jay was saying, that when he first come to God, is this for real? That's what I told God. I looked in my old Bible, I got several Bibles, and I looked in my old Bible, and in um uh December 18th of 1977, I was ordained. That's law, that's some of you wasn't even born then. Were you born before 77? Who was born before 77?

SPEAKER_07

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

See, just a few of us born before 77. Yeah, and so been a long journey, a long, long journey for your pastor. I've had many ups and downs. I've seen lots of sides to God that I didn't know was even existed in him. But he's a marvelous God, he shines from every direction. It's just like the word of God that we preach in here. It's like a diamond, it shines from all sides. And it's like a sugar sack. You find the right string and begin to pull on it, and here comes the sugar. And so we've got the string that opens up the sack. We really do. And that string is a is a message on perfection, an overcoming message to our soul. Uh getting closer to God where He can get our emotions and our feelings, everything settled in our life. And so when God begins to work on you, it isn't always pleasant. But when you're young in the Lord, it's when you really need special attention from God.

unknown

So true.

SPEAKER_04

You know, them little babies back there, I uh I told our sister looking at that little baby today, I said, Um, who's the oldest? Well, it's AJ's the oldest, and then uh Ezra and then Ada.

unknown

That's right.

SPEAKER_04

Right? Yes, and so uh them babies need full attention right now. If you walked off and left any one of those babies, they'd die without you. You know that? Yeah, they wouldn't know how to fix their dinner, they wouldn't know how to change their own diaper, they depend on their mother. Well, when people come into the church and they find they find their mother, and that's the truth. When you find a true church that's being built by Christ, you've found your mother. That mother needs to know how to take care of babies. And you don't get upset if they spit up, you don't get upset if they make a stink. That's right. You just keep on doing what a good mother does because you know down deep in your heart that Ezra, Ada, and AJ is gonna grow up. You're not always gonna have to get up in the middle of the night with them. You're not always gonna have to put them over your shoulder and burp them. You're not always gonna have to clean up the mess that they make. And then when they're one and two, you think they're bad now, wait until they're two. Now you just put them in their playpen and walk away. They cry, they carry on, but if you're strong enough to just let them cry and carry on, you'll be you'll be pleasantly surprised that it does them some good. They don't always get their way. But but when they get a little bit older, they start getting into things that, oh my lord, I thought it was bad when it's in the playpen. Now they're under the sink and they're pulling out uh bottles that's got X's on it and skulls with no eyes, and you're worried about them drinking this and worrying them about drinking that. Well, that's the way that a good man of God and good men of God in the house of God worry about the sheep. We worry about what you're eating, we worry about what you're doing during the week. We wonder about how spiritual are you striving to become. Are you looking at things on the TV? Are you just carnal and just all the time feeding the old man? Just remember the serpent's meat is dust. That's all the old man. If when I speak of old man, I'm speaking about women and men both. The nature of our flesh is all at once is something to feed the old man.

SPEAKER_06

Yes, that's right.

SPEAKER_04

You know, and there's certain foods that I like. And every once in a while I'll get to craving them. And if we got the money, I say, go get me a pizza. I want a pizza today. Or some days I might say, no, I want one of those big juicy hamburgers from five guys. Or I want to go down to the fish store and I want to eat some shrimp. But uh, that's the old man's diet. And uh as you can see, I take good care of him. But guess what? There's another man that I gotta worry about if I'm feeding him properly, because no matter what I do to keep this old man alive, no matter what I do, how many pills I take, no matter what I do to keep this old man alive, this body that I'm in right now, it's going to the grave. It is on its way. I'm closer to death now than I am life, because if I had another 75 years, I'd be 150 years old. I'm not gonna live to be 150 years old. So what am I doing to make sure that when my time comes, when this ticker quits and my lungs quit working and my brain ain't functioning no more, where am I at in God? Amen. Amen. Where am I at in the Lord? How close am I to the Lord?

SPEAKER_06

Praise the Lord.

SPEAKER_04

How far away am I from the Lord? Yes. Do I have a good resurrection? Am I looking forward to a better resurrection? A good resurrection? Do you realize that when you come to God, you're a dead soul? And if you were dead and brought back to life in Christ, you've entered into your first resurrection.

unknown

There you go. Praise God. Yes. There you go.

SPEAKER_04

The very first resurrection. And uh by the way, in Hebrews 6 and 1, it don't say resurrections, it says resurrection. The doctrine of resurrection. If we could just look at that for just one second. Now here's the apostle Paul, and the apostle Paul was the apostle to the Gentiles. And we're all Gentiles, but now we're born again, and we're all Jewish people now. Do you know that? So he said, I'm not a Jewish person. Well, your father's a Jew. Jesus Christ was a Jew. And when you're born again, you're born into him, so you become a part of the Jewish family of God. The Jews had it all wrapped up for hundreds and hundreds of years. If you wasn't a Jew, you was an outsider and you was considered a Gentile and unclean in the eyes of God. Aren't you glad God put that divider and tore it down on the cross? And now that we can all be born again, and our father being Jewish, then we're Jewish.

SPEAKER_03

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

Spiritually speaking, I'm not talking natural, I'm talking spiritual. That we're born again of the same spirit, therefore we're all one family, and our father is a Jew. And so we become a part of the Jewish family of God. We are the Israel of God now. Just like the nation of Israel, even though they're backslidden on God, don't even believe in his son coming, we're still a part of that family. We're still a part of that family. But over here, you look at this and it says, therefore, leaving the principle, the doctrine of Christ, you know how many people don't have any clue about these scriptures right here. They go to church every Sunday, and no one talks to them about. About what God's doing, or does he even have a plan? Does God have a plan, or is God just elder skelter?

SPEAKER_03

Right.

SPEAKER_04

You know, but I wanted to emphasize this one part here is it said, leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ. What is the doctrine of Christ? Well, the doctrine of Christ is what he came to do for you and I. The doctrine of Christ revolves around the suffering that he went through, all that he bore, everything he was tempted and tested with. For what reason? For us. That we might have a captain over us and a savior over us that's been put through the ringer, forwards, backwards, and sideways, examined at all points, and never found with any sin in his life. Because if he'd have had sin in his life, he wouldn't have been able to redeem us, for his blood would have been tainted. But the blood that was shed on Gogotham Hill was a pure blood, no tainted with sin whatsoever. And the blood of every creature is the life of the creature. And so when Christ shed his blood on Gogotham Hill, he was shedding his life for us. And that's the only way that you'll ever get into the body of Jesus Christ is to come through his side. When he was on the cross, they wanted to make sure he was dead, and that soldier went up and pierced him, and out come uh water and blood.

SPEAKER_06

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

Out come water and blood. Well, that's the only way back into the body of Christ is through the new birth. Water baptism and spirit baptism. It takes those two baptisms to put you in the body of Jesus Christ. And so somebody said, Well, I don't have the baptism of the Holy Ghost yet. Well, don't worry about that. You're going to get the baptism of the Holy Ghost because it's a promise. But sometimes there's a longer process for some of us than others. It took me about two and a half months to get the Holy Ghost. And I tell you, I must have sweated gallons in those two months. Every time church service, before the church service was over, Brother Connell was up at the altar at 25 years old or whatever I was. There I was tearing for the Holy Ghost and all kinds of things around me. I came up, I was got the Holy Ghost in a little Pentecostal church, and oh my Lord, somebody massaging my shoulder, somebody talking to me and didn't brush their teeth properly, and somebody hollering in one ear, praising, praising, praising, and somebody in the other ear saying, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, and every once in a while some old uh sister would reach up and go, trying to get my uh my lips to going so that I could maybe get the Holy Ghost easier. But listen, no matter what's around you, who's around you, when you reach that one certain plateau in God, that everything is around you don't matter, you can't hear nobody anymore, your mind is so fully concentrated on God, that's when you slip behind the curtain and God fills you with the baptism of the Holy Ghost. In that little split moment, you die. You die to everything around you. You die to the old man, he ain't talking to you. How many of you have trouble praying?

SPEAKER_07

Sure.

SPEAKER_04

What is it about this world that we're in? That phone right there is the biggest detriment. When they created that thing, that thing is an ungodly detriment to God's people, man. It is, it can captivate you. You can sit there and flip through that thing and go across the world and look at this and look at that and look at this and look at that. But whatever your eyes is looking at, it's going into your soul.

unknown

That's right.

SPEAKER_04

You're feeding that right into your intellect and into your emotions and feelings. So be careful what we look at. Be careful what we begin to read about. But back to the thought here about babies is that when those babies, Dana's taking wonderful care. Amber's taking wonderful care. Sarah's taking wonderful care. But that baby's gonna grow up eventually. And sooner or later he's gonna get too old to make a mess in his pants anymore, Dave. If he's six, seven years old and still got a diaper on, everybody's gonna look at him funny, and they're not gonna look at him so much as they're looking at you. Why that baby's still got a diaper on and he's six years old.

unknown

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

We had a family in the church, uh, and their two daughters would come in during service, and Sister Connell told them, I'm not changing your diaper anymore. You're too old to have your diaper changed anymore. And so they got embarrassed. They got embarrassed. You know, I had a brother, uh, he passed on. I'm sorry that I lost a brother to drugs, but but that's life. The life we live in, people are losing their life to drugs all the time. But my brother was uh old enough that he could open a refrigerator door, reach in and get the milk out, take the lid off of his bottle, and begin to pour it, just pour his bottle, plum fool, put the milk back, put the cap on his bottle, and there he was sitting on the couch, watching He-Man or whatever he's watching, drinking his bottle. And one day I looked at him and I said, Brother, that's embarrassing. He looked at me and said, What do you mean? I said, You sucking on that bottle after you're six years old. I said, You need to put that Baba away. One day he said to me, he said, I can't get nothing out of this bottle. And he said, um, he said, uh, can you help me, brother? Well, mom used to just take a pin and just take the the nipple of the bottle and just punch a bunch of holes in it, you know. I guess they got more modern bottles than that now. But that was the way you'd done it in those days. And so he was complaining, so I took a pair of scissors and snipped the whole end of it off. He went to drink it, it was going everywhere. He said, Too much milk. And so you can get too much milk or not enough milk. And so God knows how to raise his children, thank you. He knows how to raise each and every one of us. And it's a pleasure to watch him raise God's own children. It really is. It's a pleasure to watch God raise his own children. But when people come into the house of God, they're coming in. I don't care if you're 80, I don't care if you're 15, I don't care what your age is. When you come to God, you need the desire, the sincere milk of the Word of God.

SPEAKER_06

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

That's what the Bible says. No matter what your age is, you need to be fed milk. I didn't get a whole lot of milk. I got saved, and God stuck me with them older brethren, and is all they fed me night and day was T-bone steak. I started hearing messages on milk, and my heart melted. I thought, my Lord, man, I've been eating the resurrections and hell and the devil and the Godhead and all these other subjects. But once in a while, I just craved knowing about how good and sweet Jesus is. How wonderful he is. What a wonderful Father we have. What a wonderful great Savior we have. I want to do everything I can to please him because he's a wonderful good God. But when I first come to God, I needed a whole lot of foundation under me. I didn't know whether I was going to make it from one week to the other. Anybody else ever feel like that? Well, do you ever feel like that anymore, Brother Connell? Once in a while. Once in a while I come up to a mountain and I think, oh God, I've climbed a lot of mountains, but this one looks a little steeper than the rest of them that I've been on. Sister Connell and I, for the last six and a half months or whatever it's been, I've been climbing mountains. We've just had had no rest. It's been my mom and Sam and different things, and then the care of the church. I want to study. I want to be able to give something that's good to the people of God. And so I have to uh I have to uh put my priorities in the proper perspective. Every one of us has to do that. You'll never be spiritual until you decide to give up some of your desires and some of the wants of the flesh so that you can get more spiritual.

SPEAKER_06

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

More studying. You know, it's really peculiar how that I've been in so many meetings that you'll talk to people and they appear to be spiritual on the outside. They look like they're spiritual, but when you begin to talk to them, they're not spiritual at all. You know? That's what Jesus meant when he said to the Jews, he said, You praise me with your mouth, but your heart, your mind, your spirit, your soul. It's far from me. Far from me. Do you love the Lord? Yeah, I love the Lord. Well, how much do you love the Lord? Do you love the Lord enough to get water baptized? Oh no, I don't, I don't love the Lord that much. You know we're in a world right now, and I'm not going to take long, but you know we're in a world right now that there's ministers everywhere teaching God's people that water baptism is outdated. You don't even need water baptized anymore. You know that Jesus said, you know what he said about them people that was teaching that? He said to them, he said, You are on your way to hell, believing that.

SPEAKER_06

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

That's what he told them. He told them that they were false teachers and false prophets. As a matter of fact, he said to the Jews one day, he said, You rejected John's teaching on water baptism and counted yourself unworthy.

unknown

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

Water baptism is not something if you feel like doing it, it's a commandment of God. That's right. It's a commandment of God to be born again. That's what Jesus told Nicodemus, you must be born again. And Nicodemus, being a natural-minded man like any other man would be, he looked at Jesus and his mind, being natural, spoke to his Savior and said, How can that be? Seeing that I'm old, can I go back and enter into my mother's womb? And Jesus said, You are not spiritual enough, I'm paraphrasing, you're not spiritual enough to understand what I'm saying.

SPEAKER_06

That's right.

SPEAKER_04

You can't go back into your mother's womb, Nicodemus. You must be born to the water and of the spirit. And he said, Explain this to me. And he said, You see the wind blowing, and the wind might have been blowing, and he said, You don't see no manifestation only in the leaves, but you can't see what's moving those leaves. You can't see, uh, look out your door one day when the wind's blowing a little bit. I looked out my window last night, and the dogwood tree in the front yard was going, I don't know where it was coming from, but I could see the manifestations of what was making it do that. That's the same way as it is with the Holy Ghost. We don't see the Holy Ghost, but we see the Holy Ghost manifest itself in individuals or come into the room with us. Did you feel that sweet spirit of God in here today? We didn't see it, but we felt it. We felt that. And that's what we want to yield ourselves to. When you can feel just a little bit of God's spirit, you begin to yield yourself to it. And as you yield yourself to it, and you get more of the spirit of God in your life, and then somebody beside you, it splashes over on them, then they get to feel them more of God, and then it splashes on over somebody else, and they get to feel them more of God. And before you know it, you got a great big pool of those that's pulling on God, and there's the Spirit of God. And if you need more Spirit of God, run right in the middle of them. Yeah, that's right, amen. You're right over where the Spirit of God's flowing. Get right there where God's at. Get right there and say, Turn that faucet on me. Amen. There you go. But you can be over here and the Spirit of God's over there, and you can just, and it's okay. God can do that, but it's wisdom to see where the puddle's at.

SPEAKER_06

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

Not the puddle, but where the water's at, where the hole's been drilled into heaven. And if somebody's already touched God over there, get over to Him.

SPEAKER_03

That's right.

SPEAKER_04

Get over there and let that sweet Spirit of God flow down on you. And so we're learning how to have church in this church. We're absolutely learning to come into the house of God, get our minds on God, and then uh begin to let God pull on us and God use whoever he wants to use. I appreciated God touching Brother Jay today. Could you not? And I don't want to bother Brother Jay. If he gets puffed up, God knows the ways of deflating him. He's not going to get puffed up. I told him one day, I said, you're quiet, Brother Jay, but still water runs deep. And so he's a deep thinker. So when he gets up here, we get deep thoughts. I thank God for it. He touched my soul today. And then I could see God moving on, Brother Jay, and he was praying for the little ones, and he was praying for that one and this one. And I thought, that's just like you, God. Who says who God's gonna use and who God ain't gonna use? God uses who he wants to use, and God does whatever he wants to do it when he wants to do it, regardless of you thinking he should do it that way.

SPEAKER_06

Amen. That's right.

SPEAKER_04

That's right. That's why he's God. He's God because he's God. He's the one that decides what he wants to do when he wants to do it. And as all we need to do is not reject it, but go along with it. That's right.

SPEAKER_06

Amen.

SPEAKER_04

Go along with what God's doing. And so somebody said, Well, I need to know more about you're talking about a natural mind. Well, if you come in here in the house of God and your mind's just been on all natural things, you're worried about the calves losing last night. They're over with. And besides that, what's that got to do with God's kingdom, whether the calves lose or win? But you'd be surprised when you're young in the Lord, you let everything bother you. You can watch the game and get so bothered that you can't press in in church the next day. I'm depressed. Depressed about what? People running around on the courts making millions and millions of dollars. It's almost disgusting what they're doing. And we want to entertain to the point to where we'll buy all the channels to watch the games. So true. But see, that's not spiritual. That's natural. That's natural. You know, you can be working in your shop and get spiritual thoughts. You can be washing your dishes and get spiritual thoughts. But a spiritual mind's always looking for things to get more spiritual with. Then a natural mind is always looking about the natural things. Just all the things that's natural. I don't know how to say what I'm trying to say, other than there's a very, very fine line between being natural-minded, carnal-minded, and then being spiritual-minded is just on the opposite side of that.

SPEAKER_06

Yes, true.

SPEAKER_04

On the opposite side of that. And that phone that we have, it is absolutely a detriment to us. Yes. Here we are, men that love God, and we all, if you're a man and you're born with the spirit of a man, you're contending with lust.

SPEAKER_06

That's right. Yes, I mean.

SPEAKER_04

True?

SPEAKER_06

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

Most men contend with that. So then you've got to contend with that phone that's just plumb full of lust. Everything's about the flesh. So we shouldn't have to come into the house of God and contend with it. I wonder how these mega churches, I don't even know how they could get an ounce of Spirit of God moving in them. My Lord, we contend with everything we got to contend with in the world and all the things that wants to captivate your eyes and your mind and your spirit. Then you go in the house of God and some woman's up preaching in a mini dress. Guess who the counselor is, spiritual counselor for our President Trump? Paula White. She's a harlot. She's a Jezebel. If you knew some of the things that she has said, and the way that she preaches and the outfit she wears, she's a Jezebel. And that's the spiritual counselor for our president.

SPEAKER_06

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

Boy, we're in trouble. If he ever needs spiritual counsel, he's going to get it from Paula White. I don't even know where we're headed in this nation, except I know what the Bible says we're headed for trouble.

SPEAKER_06

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

Because every nation that forgets God shall be turned into hell. We're in a hellish condition right now.

SPEAKER_06

Yes, amen.

SPEAKER_04

My Lord, I got this thing on my phone that it goes off when something happens in Akron. It's constantly going off. Two or three people got shot last night in our city. One got shot right in the head. Everywhere you turn, there's nothing but chaos and but trouble and trials and things going on. And then the way that they're oppressing us, you know, we're on a fixed income, Sister Connell and I. And so we're having hard times making everything meet because of our fixed income. And I'm too old to go out and work. And so we're just relying upon God and relying upon our Social Security and whatever God's saints decide to give in offerings to help us. Somebody said, Well, I didn't even know that the church believed in giving offerings to their pastor. Well, Paul said, What is it that I reap your carnal things if I sow into you spiritual things?

SPEAKER_06

Yes, it is right.

SPEAKER_04

And then you know you can, I don't even know where I'm going, but I'm just gonna let the Holy Ghost take me there. I'm gonna get down, but you know, some people serve God and they love God until God says, give. And then they don't love God anymore. They don't love Him enough to give. Well, I do know of time when I was a devil, I ate a great big supper and walked out. But that's when I was a devil.

SPEAKER_06

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

No, when you go in and sit down, you know that there's gonna be, uh you're gonna be given something a tab to pay for what you ate. Well, in the house of God, it's the same way. If you come into the house of God and sit down and sup every Sunday and hear the precious things of God and feel God's glory, his wonderful spirit, and then you just get up and never give nothing in the offering plate. Well, you've just walked out, not paying your tab.

SPEAKER_06

Yes, that's right.

SPEAKER_04

And this don't mean that you've got to give X amount of dollars, that amount of dollars. I think Brother Matt, Matthew, uh, I think Brother Matt, or Brother Michael Mathis done a wonderful job, didn't he?

SPEAKER_07

Yes, he sure did.

SPEAKER_04

Didn't he do a wonderful job on teaching on tithing and offerings? Under the law, a priest got 10%. They made sure that their priesthood was taken care of. You know, God's watching our little flock.

SPEAKER_07

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

If Brother Connell is struggling to make it, and and you're not putting anything in the offering towards Brother Connell, you could be cheating yourself out of getting closer to God. Because God's watching that. Somebody said, Well, we're so strapped we can't even give, you can give a few dollars here, a few dollars there, and I'm not preaching for money. Have I ever preached for money? No. I'm just telling this for your sakes, not for me, because God's going to provide for me somehow, somehow. But he wants to do it through the saints so that he can bless the saints.

SPEAKER_07

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

Give unto the things that God's building and God's doing. And so Paul had to do that. He had to deal with the church on that. He had to deal with them. He had to say, Do you muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn? Then he had to say to him, Do if I've sowed unto you spiritual things, what is it that I reap from you your carnal things? You know, and sometimes God ain't looking at the amount you put in, he looks at the heart that you're giving it with.

SPEAKER_05

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

The widow woman only gave two mites. And uh Jesus gave the parable of her and the rich man that went up, and he just gave a surplus of what he had left over. Oh, let me see what's left over in my pocket here.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

And he gave uh the surplus. But uh the old widow woman gave the last two mites that she had, and Jesus asked the crowd, he said, Who was justified? He that gave just the excess that he had, or the woman that gave all she had. And he said, uh, all that she gave, she was the one that was justified in the eyes of God. So don't rob yourself, give to the building fund, give to your pastor's needs when you can. And that's all I'm gonna say about that.

SPEAKER_06

Praise God.

SPEAKER_04

And so I don't know where God wants me to go here, other than we need to begin to build on the foundation that God's trying to lay in this church. Well, I've never, you know, when they built my garage, uh those of you that know anything about building, the first thing they done is come out and dug a di uh dug a trench, a footer. They dug this footer all out, and I was excited about getting a new garage, and so I went out there, Alex, and I looked and they dug it down this deep, and they had sticks over here and a stick over here, and when they come out, they shot a laser between those two posts that they put. And they dug the trench according to that laser. And then uh then sooner or later out come some blockmen that put the block down in there and built the block up, and then it wasn't long after that all settled and the mortar dried that they came out and began to put the walls up and uh begin to put the roof up. Well, you never build from the roof down, you always build from the from the foundation up. And what God's trying to do in our little church is get a foundation of men and a foundation of sisters that we're not going anywhere, and that we've made our minds up to serve God till the day we die. And some days my mind's more made up than others. Amen.

SPEAKER_06

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

So I have to get over those others, and I have to get my mind back on fixed on God that what no matter what comes my way, I'm not going anywhere. I'm gonna stick it out through thick and thin. Jesus even made the statement that when I return, when he returns, will he find any faith at all? There you go. Yes, any faith at all. He said, Shall I find any faith at all? Why? Because look around. People that's saying that this is faith in God, it ain't faith in God, it's faith in man.

SPEAKER_06

That's right, that's right.

SPEAKER_04

It's faith in all kinds of hocus pocus stuff. Yes, all kinds of stuff going on that's not of God at all. Not of God at all. You tell people that you gotta suffer to live for God, and they say you're nuts. You're in the wrong church. If somebody's teaching you you gotta suffer to get right with God, you're in the wrong church. The Bible strictly teaches that without suffering, there's no way to get close to Him.

SPEAKER_06

Right, that's right, amen.

SPEAKER_04

Because we all come with all these roots in our life: bitterness, hatefulness, spite, envy, jealousies. All the works of the flesh comes in without ever asking it, we're born with it. It's in that corruptible seed that we're born of. That's why we must be born of an incorruptible seed. That incorruptible seed has all the fruits of the Spirit of God in it. And so I've been stuck on that for months and months, but I'm gonna stay stuck on it because that's the only way to grow, is to yield towards that new birth and not the old birth.

SPEAKER_06

Amen. That's right.

SPEAKER_04

We all have this passenger that rides with us every day.

unknown

Every day.

SPEAKER_04

Every day. I never, I never in my life, uh, if you want to experiment to show you how powerful the carnal mind is, just set your watch or set your alarm clock and just put in there five minutes and then let the alarm go off and kneel down beside your bed and try to pray to God for five minutes without getting some ungodly, ridiculous thoughts come into your mind. You'll locate your enemy real quick. You'll no sooner and start to get down to pray, and the most ungodliest things will come flooding in your mind. And you'll think, My God, what is that? It's the old man that lives with you. It's the old man. And so when you can begin to pray through that and not let that hinder you, you're getting you're getting more, you're getting more mature in God. Not to let them thoughts stop your prayer, but just shuck them out. Just throw them out, eject them. Eject them right away, because if you don't eject them right away, they'll build a little nest and begin to lay eggs.

SPEAKER_06

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

Like old Brother Tucker said one time. He said, There's no sin in getting a bad thought. No, we all get bad thoughts, lustful thoughts, dirty thoughts, whatever kind of thoughts you think you can get, you can get them. And they're just all come from that carnal nature that we're born with. Well, it's when you let them stay there and just stay there and stay there, and then you build one thing out of that bad thought to another thought, to another thought, to another thought, and before long you got a mindful of dirt.

SPEAKER_06

That's right. The birds, brother Kyle. No shame in letting a bird flying.

SPEAKER_08

Just don't let it lay eggs.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, don't, yeah, yeah. The birds is gonna, the thoughts are gonna come. Just don't let them find a place in your mind and just sit there and build a nest and have a bunch of babies. You know? Begin to shuck them out. That's why the apostle Paul said, bring in every thought under captivity to God. Because it's your thoughts that's leading you places. Amen?

SPEAKER_06

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

But I never saw nothing like it, and they're claiming that it's God. Come to church in the most ungodliest outfits. You know when to start teaching your children, uh, little Ada back there and little AJ being uh being girls? You know when to teach them to dress modest is right now.

unknown

That's right.

SPEAKER_04

Teach them to dress modest.

SPEAKER_05

That's right.

SPEAKER_04

Don't put your children in clothing that God's disproving. You ever see these? Um there's a program that I seen one time that just thought, wow, uh, these women that take their little girls and turn them into models.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Uh uh, they they they take them to modeling school. Pageants.

SPEAKER_06

Pageants and stuff.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, pageants and stuff. And then all of a sudden, here's a little five-year-old girl, and she she looks like she's 30, but she's five. And then all of a sudden she's 17, and you're wondering why she dresses like the way that she's dressing. It's because you let her dress like that when she was little. Now you're gonna tell her don't dress like that no more. Don't work.

SPEAKER_06

No, that's right.

SPEAKER_04

Don't work. I've been all through that. I've been all through that. And there's a there's a balance in that. Yes, there is. There's a there's a total balance in that. You don't have to wear a skirt or a dress down to the ground, but you don't need to wear it up to your butt.

unknown

There you go.

SPEAKER_04

It's all right to wear uh a blouse, but don't wear the blouse to where you're exposing your breast.

unknown

There you go.

SPEAKER_04

Somebody says, does that matter with God? God's a holy God. He's a sanctified God, he's a God that's watching everything we do. And he also watches the way we dress. Amen.

unknown

Yes, amen. Amen.

SPEAKER_04

And so here I am, bombarded, and you brethren's all bombarded every week, every day by your phone with nothing but lust and garbage. And then you walk into the house of God, in comes some woman. My God, you gotta you gotta fight not to look. It's part of your job, though. Yeah, it's part of our job not to look. But at the same time, uh, that's what a lot of women want in this life. They want to be noticed, and that's why they dress the way that they dress. I want you to look at me. And you know, when when it all comes down to it, what God's looking at more than our dress attire is He's looking at the spirit that we have. Uh when I first come to this body of people and found the teaching, uh, I would travel once a week or once a month off to ministers' meetings, and I'd hear these dark, not dark, forgive me, Lord, I'd hear these deep, deep subjects being taught. And I'd come home and I'd get discouraged. I'd say, how in the world, Lord, am I ever going to learn about the resurrections, about eternal judgment, and about the devil and about the Godhead and about hell, all this. And I got so depressed one time, Brother Alex, for a few days, and finally God took my depression away. And you know what he spoke to me? I was at the table and he said, I'm not coming after your knowledge. I'm not coming about whether you know the Bible from A to Z. You know what I'm coming after? Your spirit. I'm coming after your spirit. The most powerful teaching in the Word of God is not about the resurrections and what's going to happen 2,000 years from now or the Godhead or anything else. The most prominent and the most powerful and the most important word of God is that germ kernel that teaches what God's after, and that's a good, clean, righteous, godly spirit.

unknown

Amen.

SPEAKER_06

Amen. Thank you, Lord.

SPEAKER_04

Praise God. And so, no matter what you know, if you got a good spirit, uh, I had a grandmother that I loved dearly, my grandma Connell. She was a big woman. She wasn't big, big, but she was just a big woman. Yeah, taller. And she she used to play with me. She'd do her clothes, and she would still wring her clothes out on a washboard. And then she would grab it and wring it out. I think she stood about six feet or a little more. She's a little taller. And so she would ring it out and I'd be playing, and she'd say, Come over here, Ken. And I'd say, What, Graham? She'd say, Grab that towel and see if you can get any more out of it. I'd grab that towel. I couldn't get a drop out of it. She'd just laugh. Grandma can get it all out of there, can't she? And I'd say, Yeah, Graham. You know that she loved God. You know, somebody mentioned a thing with Jay uh seeing Sister Mathis quake under the Spirit of God for the first time. Looks like supernatural stuff, man. Scare you to death if you don't know what God's doing. Just shaking. I used to watch my grandmother pray, and she'd get in the spirit, and she'd get in the living room or wherever she's praying, and she would get to quaking like that, and I'd think every bone in her body was gonna break. Now everybody ain't gonna do that, but she was one that did. You know, when it came to the things of God, the deeper things of God, I would talk to her, and she would just uh say, Oh yeah, Ken, them's good, deep things of God. But you know, she never received the deeper things of God. But you know what she did receive? The Spirit of God in her life that made her a kind, sweet, humble, obedient child of God. And before she died, uh I lived right across the street. I had a dream of her. And I dreamt that she was standing in her kitchen sink and there was a little window there, and in my dream she had a gold chain around her forehead and a ruby right in the middle of her forehead, and in the dream a voice spoke to me and said, She's a gem in my eyes. And you know, uh I was so religious I thought, well, she might be a gem, but she don't know the things that she needs to know. She knew what she needed to know, and that's how to get her spirit in contact with God and to love God in her spirit.

SPEAKER_06

Praise the Lord. That's that's good.

SPEAKER_04

And so these deeper things of God has established you so that you're not tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine. That's my calling is to get you rooted and grounded in the things of God so that you're not tossed to and fro every more anymore.

SPEAKER_06

Amen.

SPEAKER_04

And one of my one of my things is that until God can get you established in the things of God, don't put everything in your mouth.

SPEAKER_06

There you go. Yes.

SPEAKER_04

I was watching little Ada. She had that little beads, man. She's just a gnaw on them, you know. And and uh and you'll watch uh Ezra. Everything. Don't they all put everything right goes to their mouths? Right in their mouth. Well, when you're young in the Lord, you can do that. And if you're not careful, you'll get a hold of stuff that makes you sick.

unknown

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

You'll be hearing things, and the next thing you know, uh you're asking Brother Connell questions that you shouldn't even be asking. And the reason why is you've been eating the wrong diet. You've been listening to the babbling too much. You've been getting hoodwinked by these preachers. That's all that these Paula Whites and T.D. Jakes and all these big fancy preachers is all they're about is money.

SPEAKER_06

Oh, yes.

SPEAKER_04

Money, money, money, money, money. And that's all they want is your money. But thank God there's gonna be men that's gonna rise up in these last days. It ain't about your money, it's about you getting rooted and grounded in God that you're not tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine.

SPEAKER_06

Amen. Praise God.

SPEAKER_04

Amen. Once you get the truth on the Godhead, the oneness people will not be able to persuade you.

SPEAKER_06

That's right, amen.

SPEAKER_04

They won't be able to persuade you. Yes. Once you get the truth on hell, no one will tell you that we got a tormenting God that's gonna burn everybody forever and ever. That's right. You'll get a revelation that God's the same God that he was when he pronounced death upon Adam, and he never made one mention about burning him forever and ever. Thus thou art, thus you'll return.

SPEAKER_06

Amen. Amen.

SPEAKER_04

But yet he brought all this on the human race, and now all of his offspring's gonna go to hell and bob up and down in hell forever and ever. What an unjust God!

SPEAKER_06

Yes, that's right. Amen.

SPEAKER_04

No, he's a just God. That's right. The same curse that came on Adam is still on the human family. Except you find Christ, you're under the penalty of death.

SPEAKER_06

Yes, that's right. Praise God.

SPEAKER_04

And after death, if you don't know God, there is no life after death.

unknown

That's right.

SPEAKER_04

There's no knowledge in the grave. There's no uh there's no thoughts in the grave. The dead know not anything, the Bible says. The dead know nothing. Yes. What hope do I have then if I die? That I'm in the Lamb's book of life.

SPEAKER_06

Hallelujah. Yes, amen.

SPEAKER_04

That God's recorded me in that book of life. I've accepted Christ. I've been washed by the blood. I know who my Savior is. I'm looking forward to meeting him one day. You're recorded, Ken.

SPEAKER_06

Amen. Amen. Amen. Praise the Lord.

SPEAKER_04

You've got your name written down in the book of life. Amen. But if your name ain't written down in the book of life, how is he gonna ever give you life?

SPEAKER_05

Yes, that's right.

SPEAKER_04

But thank God when you accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, you're on your way.

SPEAKER_05

That's right.

SPEAKER_04

You're on your way. Then he wants to give you something to help you on the rest of your way. And it's called the Comforter. And the baptism of the Holy Ghost. When the Holy Ghost comes into your life, it's just like me. First time I ever bought a welder, I didn't know all the gadgets on that welder. I didn't know you can buy tools nowadays that it's got so many processes that it can do, that honestly, God, you got to sit down and read the manual forever and ever to figure out all the buttons that's on the thing. Well, the Holy Ghost is just like that. You get the baptism of the Holy Ghost in your life. You don't even really know, neither did I know what I have until God begins to show me the buttons to push. There you go. And what the Holy Ghost is for. It's called a comforter. So if you're going through trials and tests, get a hold of the Holy Ghost because He'll come onto the scene and comfort you through your trials.

SPEAKER_06

Yes, amen.

SPEAKER_04

He'll comfort you through your trials. And so I just appreciate God after all these years still bearing with me and still having mercy with me. And so I don't want to, I don't know where to go here, so I better get down. But I do want to say this for all the new people beginning your walk with God. We have a genuine, very, very real God that can give you things to put on your staff that you'll never doubt whether he exists at all again. I don't serve God by blind faith. I don't know how people go to Sunday church every week, weekend, and have perfect attendance. And you ever ask them about their personal experiences with God and they don't have any. Yes. Yep. How do you know God exists if he doesn't give you personal experiences to let you know that he exists? That's right, that's right.

unknown

Amen. That's right. That's pitiful.

SPEAKER_04

And sometimes he starts out real simple. And then it takes a while to learn whether it's that his voice or my voice talking to me. You ever find that out? That you're struggling to see, is that God or is that me? Is that God or is that me? Well, after you go through a process of that long enough, you realize that you can hear the mind of God. You can hear his voice over your own voice. And you can begin to follow that voice. And I was so religious in my first years of my ministry that I had a grandfather, his name was Jim Collins. I loved him. Boy, what a great grandpa I had. They say it was mean as a hornet when he was young. And uh that he was rowdy and this and that. I didn't know him when he was like that. My Uncle Sonny, before he passed, he said, you just didn't know him, Jen. Well, no, I didn't know the old Jim. I knew the Jim after he gotten converted and gave his heart to the Lord.

unknown

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

But I would talk to him in the garage and he'd get to crying. But you know, I was so religious that I thought when he died he didn't have the Holy Ghost and he was lost. Oh, my grandpa's lost. He wasn't ever born again. And I'll never forget the day that the Lord uh told me driving my car, he said, stop into that ACDC store there in Arlington and buy that log roller. And I bought this log roller, and the Lord said, Because I'm gonna take your grandpa, I'm gonna take your grandfather. And so I went in there and bought that, and him and I sat down that day, and we rolled all the newspapers, stacks of them, and the logs to burn in the potbelly stove that he had in the garage. We just kept rolling them and stacking them, rolling them. That night, see, God's a buckler to them that walk upright. He'll protect you and he'll comfort you through great stress and things that come across your life. He knew he was going to take my grandpa, and he knew how much that I loved my grandfather, so the Good God of heaven let me buy, and I had just enough money in my pocket to buy it, and not a penny more to buy that log roller. And he let me spend the whole day with my grandpa that I loved with all my heart. He let me roll one log after another with him, and that night, in the middle of the night, he had a massive heart attack. God told me he was going to take him. Me being religious and thinking, well, you don't have the Holy Ghost, you know, he's probably lost. It took 30 years for God to work on your pastor until a man by the name of Collins called me. And he said, uh, I've seen some Gironda people, and I asked them if they knew anybody that knew about Weldon. They said, Oh, yeah, Ken Connell. He, you just call him. He'll have all your answers. Well, I don't have all the answers, but uh he called me. But he said, um, uh, before he called me, he said he laid this note down with my name and number on his table in the kitchen. And he said, I've been praying for months that I can hear the voice of God more than my own voice. And he said, every time I'd walk by that table, he said, something would say pick that up and call that man. One day he picked it up and called me. And uh, and I said, What's your name, sir? He said, Collins. I said, My grandpa was Collins. He said, Well, there's lots of Collins. And he said, uh, do you know the Lord? And I said, Do you know the Lord? And he said, Yeah, I said, Yeah, I know the Lord. And he said, Boy, you don't know how much you've helped me. Because I told him how to weld some cast iron. And uh, and and they and I said, How's that, sir? He said, I've been asking for God to tell me when he's talking to me, and for the last two weeks, every time I walk by my table, I see your name and number, and God says, Call that man. He said, Now I know that was God, because you and I have had a godly conversation and we're we're we're excited about meeting each other even over the phone. Yeah. And I said, that's wonderful. He said, let me pray for you when we hang up. And I said, Mr. Collins, I said, you pray for me, I'll go up into my little bedroom and pray for you. When I got off the phone, I was all by myself in the house, I walked, and as I got up the steps, I felt the Spirit of God begin to come upon me. And when I got into that little bedroom, before my knees hit the ground, the Lord, after 30 long years. That's how religion can tie you up. It can tie you up and believe in things for 30 years. I thought he was lost because he didn't have the Holy Ghost.

SPEAKER_06

Yes, amen.

SPEAKER_04

And when my knees hit the floor, the Lord spoke to me and he said, If I told you I was gonna take him, doesn't that make him mine?

unknown

Yes, amen.

SPEAKER_04

But my religious mind said, yeah, but he didn't have the Holy Ghost. Well, he died without the Holy Ghost, but he died in faith, loving God, and he's gonna come up in the final resurrection and be given a chance to finish his course.

SPEAKER_06

Amen. Praise God. Amen. Amen.

SPEAKER_04

What would you do with people if uh if somebody came in here today and they got saved? That uh Brother Jay or some of the brethren got around this man and got to praying for him. All of a sudden God tenderized his heart, up his hands go, and with his mouth he begin to make confessions that he was a sinner and he needed God in his life. That's really all salvation is. But you're talking in the air. You've got to believe that in the air is God's listening. That's right. Yes. God's listening.

SPEAKER_06

Amen.

SPEAKER_04

He doesn't come up and stand in front of you when you give your life to the Lord. You just feel conviction come upon you. And you begin to cry. Some people don't cry, but the proof that you've met Christ is a changed life.

SPEAKER_06

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

You can say, I love Jesus and I got saved in church yesterday and still continue to act just like you act before you claimed to get saved. You didn't get saved.

unknown

That's right.

SPEAKER_04

You didn't get saved. Yes. You act different after you get saved. Oh, God. Your life changes. Yes. But I didn't see him, but I know he saved me. The day he saved me on Christmas Eve, uh, whatever year it was, uh, I knew that I got saved, brother. I was 25 years old and I had a stack of sins weighing me down higher than this building. I was wrapped up in chains. All kinds of ungodly chains, had me bound. But when I heard the voice of the Lord calling and pulling on my name, on my soul, and I gave my soul to him, I got up out of that uh altar and I was a changed man. Hallelujah.

unknown

Praise the Lord.

SPEAKER_06

Praise the Lord.

SPEAKER_04

You know them by the fruit that they bear, don't you? Yes, amen. And so these people that's getting tickled their ears every Sunday, they go to church one way and they come back out the same way. They go to church again the same way, they leave church the same way, they don't stop doing anything that the flesh wants to do. They have no cross that they're bearing, but yet if you talk to them, you're the crazy one and I'm going to heaven.

SPEAKER_06

Absolutely. Yep, they say.

SPEAKER_04

You're nuts, and I'm going to heaven. You know, I'm not gonna, I'm just gonna close with this. And that is this is that there's qualifications to be an elder. There's qualifications in the Bible to be a deacon.

unknown

Yes, yes.

SPEAKER_04

You mean to tell me God gives us qualifications to be in the ministry, but there's no qualifications for eternal life? How foolish. How foolish is that?

SPEAKER_06

Yes, amen.

SPEAKER_04

There's qualifications to have eternal life. And those qualifications is to let God plant you and grow you and raise you up to where you can stand on your own one day. Amen. That's right. So, in closing, I just wanted to say this one thing. It was really kind of peculiar, our last service last Sunday, that uh when when uh Jesse was up talking, and I didn't want to interrupt him because he was on fire. He was preaching the house down. But right in the middle of all that, I swelled up, I felt like I was gonna bust. Because after all these years of watching Timothy and all the rest of you men in the church, I am never gonna lay hands on any of you until God says it's time.

unknown

Amen.

SPEAKER_06

Yes, amen, amen.

SPEAKER_04

Because laying of hands is a doctrine that most people don't know nothing about. They don't have any clue that it's showing what's in order and out of order. And they don't have any idea that that that's God's way of uh of recognizing a man that's been through the fire enough and had a calling in his life to be an elder in the church. And so when I sat in there and Jesse was up here preaching, I even think that Jessica jumped up and she gave us a message in tongues. I knew it was, but we didn't have an interpreter, or would have heard right from God that day from heaven through those tongues that she was speaking. But right in the midst of all that, the Lord just he spoke to me and he said, After today, you have another elder in the church. Just like God. Just like God. And I told Tim, I said, the Lord just spoke to me and said, After today, we have another elder in the church. That was God's recognizing Timothy and all that him and his family's been through, and all the tests that God's put Tim through. And finally, the process, knowing that there's a gift working in his life, I've seen it just like I see gifts working in other men's lives in this church. And it don't it doesn't mean that the women can't receive things from God too if they're in order and working right. But when I seen the when I see things in men's lives in this church, I want to recognize it and I want to build on it. I want to give them the freedom to let that grow. And so when the Lord spoke to me and said, after today you got another elder, I knew that God had called Tim into the ministry, and now he was going to be ordained. And so we prayed for him and uh we uh laid hands on him and prayed for him, and uh, and I want the church to recognize that now you have two men in this church besides your pastor, and there's other men in this church, but especially the elders in the church. You know what an elder really is? He's a shepherd, he's an overseer, he's one that loves the flock and watches out for the flock. And you can come to these men and ask them Bible questions, and they'll tell you if they know, and if they're not sure, they'll come to the one that's over them in the Lord. And then get the answer, and we'll get the answers together. But God's an ordered God, He's a God that works in order. It's just like in your home. Your home will be more blessed when the women in the home knows that they got a head over them. That home will be more blessed by God when the women know that their husband is their head. And then the men in the home will get more blessed, and their whole home will be blessed when they know they've got a head over them. The head of Christ is God the Father, and the head of every man is Christ, and the head of every woman is a man. And you get those orders mixed up, and she becomes the head, and you become the feet, or whatever it may be, uh, the home's out of order. And God won't bless it just the way he wants to tremendously bless it, because if he blessed it, you'd get to thinking that it was okay.

unknown

That's true.

SPEAKER_04

But God wants to get the homes in order. Every man in this church is a priest. If you've been saved and you've given your life to the Lord and you believe in the things that's being taught, and you might not have the Holy Ghost as yet, that don't matter. You're a priest in your home. God's gonna hold you more responsible what goes on in your home than your wife.

unknown

That's right. Yes.

SPEAKER_04

God's truth, isn't it? Yes, right. Can we prove this? Yeah, if we had time, but we don't have time. And so here, here's a little secret that God gave me. And it didn't come on my own. Brother James Sodters taught it to me. He said, Brother Connell, he said, you're gonna be a pastor of a church. And he said, he said, remember that Brother Sodters told you this and taught you this. I said, What's that, Brother Sodters? He said, never bypass the head of the home and go to the wife. Why not, Brother Saudters? Because you're bypassing God's order. Do you know I have never stepped in and interfered with any man's wife? I don't need to come to Sister Jessica. If Sister Jessica gets out of place in the church, or any sister in this church gets out of place, I don't need to go to that sister. I need to go to her head. I need to go to the one that's over his home. I'm doing him a dishonesty by bypassing him and going right to that woman. No. God wants me to go to the source of where she's got her covering from. Her covering comes from the man that's over her and the Lord. If the sisters need corrected, don't you correct them? You go to the man that needs to correct them, and that bees, that's the one that's over them in the Lord. Yes, I mean. I had a neighbor, I'm gonna sit down because we've got to put this back together. I had a neighbor that was a school teacher that lived beside us. Her marriage lasted a couple years and then it fell apart. You know why? Because I she would talk to me in the backyard, and every time something broke, or every time she had a problem, she didn't say nothing. What was his name? Matt? Matt. She didn't go to Matt and say, Matt, could you fix the grudge? She called her dad. She was a daddy's girl. And everything that she'd done, she bypassed her husband, and here comes her father. He'd bring his ladders over, he was doing all this stuff, fixing everything on the house. And here's Matt standing in the backyard, and his dad's just took it, her dad just took over. That marriage didn't make it very long because she was constantly comparing Matt to her dad.

SPEAKER_06

Yes, I mean.

SPEAKER_04

And then she never called, you never let Matt do the job. She'd always call on dad to do the job. And then when she had problems, she never sat down and talked to Matt about her problems. She went to her dad and talked to her about her problems. And her dad didn't have any understanding, so he put his nose in the places that he did not belong. That's not his wife. That's his daughter. And when she got married, she took on the name of the one that she married. Now you're out of the equation.

unknown

That's right. Yes.

SPEAKER_04

She's took on the name of the man that she's married. And so to be right in the eyes of God, you don't bypass that man. You go to that man. No matter if it's your daughter or who it is, you go to the man that's been put over her in the Lord and you talk to him about what you see going on. And then he has to be humble enough to take it. You know, you can do, God help me to just shut down here, but you can do anything to anybody, but I guarantee you that if I start to ruffle the feathers of my granddaughters here, I'm going to ruffle his feathers. I don't need to ruffle my granddaughters' feathers, other than just preaching the word of God. But if I see my granddaughters doing things that they shouldn't be doing, I don't really need to even go to my granddaughters. I need to go to the one that's over them and say, Tim, please tell your daughters not to come dressed like that no more. And then Dad turns around as a priest of his home and says, Don't wear them skirts anymore. And then if they're if they're not rebellious children, they'll say, Okay, Dad, could you explain why? Because it's too provocative. You're showing too much. And so it gets fixed, but it got fixed in order. The head of the house is right here. The children, and this is all hypothetical. That the children needs to be talked to, that's the man that needs to talk to them. I don't need to go over his head. If I ever corrected you, maybe over the pulpit, everybody gets corrected over the pulpit. But I have no business correcting my daughter-in-law's, I have no business correcting Tina, I have no business correcting Amy, I have no business correcting any woman in this church that's got a husband. Yes. I need to go to the source that her head. Her head is her husband.

SPEAKER_06

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

And so me going to that headship is in the order of God, and it'll get done a lot quicker and a lot more pleasant, and it'll be done in God's order.

SPEAKER_06

Yes. Amen?

SPEAKER_04

Boy, my dad was a stickler on that. One more minute, and we've got to get going. My dad was a stickler. When my sister got in brawls with my brother-in-law when they had knocked down drug out fights, she'd go running and knock on the door to dad. My dad would say, What's wrong? And he'd say, Oh, this and that, and this and that. You know, my dad would never bring her in. He would say to her, You can come in, but go get Russ. Bring him with you. Bring him with you. And uh you'd be surprised how God's looking at all these technical little things. He's looking at all these little things. Yes. Brother Alex, if I ever start correcting your wife back there, you have every right to come to me and say, Brother Connell, come to me. Come to me. I'm the head of my home. Come to me. And you'd be surprised if you don't do it that way, what you're creating. You're creating something that's not good with the order of God. You're bypassing your husband and going to your father. No. Go to your husband, and then if you need corrected, let him come to the elder or somebody over him in the Lord and help him with your problem.

unknown

That's right.

SPEAKER_04

Amen. I hope you got something out of that. If nothing else, you got a little order. Got a little order out of that. And so, in a world that's got no order, we're trying to get in order. God bless you. I love you. Didn't you appreciate this good service today?

SPEAKER_06

Yes, amen.

SPEAKER_04

I appreciate it. We love you all. Come back next Sunday. Come back, and before you come into the church, say a little prayer. God help my mind to come in and set down spiritual. And not only spiritual, but be setting on ready to go. God bless you. We love you and thank you for being a part of this assembly.
