In this episode, we delve into incidences where Jesus showcased the importance of having an atmosphere of faith during His ministry. We therefore seek to answer the question, Is an atmosphere on faith worth it?

Hi everyone, and welcome to another episode of Living in Exhortation. My name is Maureen Mwendua, and today we are going to be talking about creating an atmosphere of faith. Is it worth it? Jesus Christ's incident in regards to the death of Jairus' daughter, as well as with the blind man, that is in Mark chapter 8, shows a bit of similarity in context. Jesus Christ in Matthew chapter 9 verse 24 stated to the mourners around the house that the child that is Jairus' daughter was not dead but sleeping. If any one of you has never read this specific story, please take time and have a go at it so that you may get to know what happened within this specific story. As a result, the Bible tells us that they ridiculed him, those who were there, the mourners. Other gospels tell us that they laughed at him. He then asked that they be moved out of the home, and that was when he raised the child from the dead. When we turn to chapter 8 of Mark, we read of a blind man being brought to Jesus to be healed. His first action, that is Jesus' first action, was to hold the man by the hand and lead him out of the town. The town was called Bethsida. And then he performed the miracle of healing the blind man. He later, in verse 26 of the same chapter, told him that he should not go back to the same town, nor tell anyone in the town. This was because Jesus had earlier placed a curse on this city or on this specific town. That is in Matthew chapter 11, verse 21. Why did Christ act in this way in these two incidences? Hebrews chapter 11, verse 6 says that but without faith it is impossible to please him. Jesus Christ recognized that the environment he was in was full of people living in unbelief. Therefore, he had to withdraw from that environment of unbelief for him to deliver his people. He had to draw the people out of the house in Matthew chapter 9, verse 25, and he also had to draw out the blind man from the town of Bethsida in Mark chapter 8, verse 23. This proves strongly that God cannot function in a person or environment full of unbelief. For as stated in Hebrews, without faith it is impossible to please him. Those who had the courage to believe in him, even before he had fully manifested and revealed himself as the Son of God before people, these specific people got their liberation beforehand. An example is the centurion's servant in chapter 8 of Matthew. Again, if you've never read his story, please take time to go ahead and read this chapter to get the context of this story. Whose master had asked Jesus Christ to heal him. Verse 13 of this chapter shows that the servant was healed due to the belief that his master had in Jesus and his ability as well as his status. If we go ahead and read Luke chapter 7 from verse 36, we read about someone by the name Simon the Pharisee who lived in Bethany, who had called Jesus for uh let's say for a meal. He had invited him to his house for a meal. And in referral to this story, there is a scripture in Matthew chapter 10, verse 41, that demonstrates that it is important how you receive a man of God to determine your reward. And based on the story of Simon the Pharisee, if you go ahead and read Luke chapter 7, verse 36, due to Simon's unbelief of Jesus Christ being the Messiah and him not having that revelation, he missed his deliverance on the day of his visitation. Instead, it was Mary, that is the woman with the alabaster oil, who carried the blessing, for she received him as the Messiah and acted accordingly to that revelation by anointing Jesus with costly perfume. And so we therefore learn that the Lord rarely works in an environment that has no faith. Nevertheless, circumstances can make us lack faith. In these cases, he is faithful and just to help us. Just as he helped the father of the child who had a demonic spirit in Mark chapter 9, again, I ask you, if you take if you have time, please go ahead and read that specific story in Mark chapter 9, who was struggling with unbelief. Before healing the child, Jesus pointed this out that all things are possible to him who believes. The man therefore said to Jesus, Lord, I believe. Help my unbelief. Food for thought? I choose to believe so. Thank you so much for listening. Until next time, take care of yourselves and have a good one.
