Blonde Baddies
Blonde Baddies isn’t about hair color—it’s a mindset. A Blonde Baddie is anyone who stands for female empowerment, equality, and uplifting marginalized communities. We’re about building each other up, calling out hypocrisy when we see it, and loving fiercely while embracing every identity and every story.
This is a space for women (and allies) who believe in kindness, inclusivity, intelligence, and strength. Our community—our Baddies, our BB’s—is rooted in support, honesty, and growth. We’re here to create real conversations, real connections, and real change.
Hosted by founder Joy Aukema, the oldest of six girls, whose life journey is anything but ordinary. Adopted at just two months old and raised in a traditional Catholic household by a pediatric nurse mom and engineer dad, Joy grew up surrounded by strong female energy and 80’s-era icons who helped shape her voice and vision.
After navigating love, heartbreak, and a 17-year marriage, Joy is now raising two incredible sons—Brady, a sports-loving high school senior with a passion for football, and Griffin, a creative, outdoorsy spirit who thrives on farming, fishing, and building something out of nothing.
Life hasn’t been without its challenges, but through it all, Joy believes deeply that there is purpose in every twist and turn—and that the story isn’t over yet.
On Blonde Baddies, we dive into the tough topics—current events, social media, relationships, and pop culture—with honesty, humor, and heart. We’ll laugh, we’ll cry, and we’ll grow together, because life is meant to be lived fully—and happiness starts from within.
Join the journey. Learn, reflect, and evolve with us. And don’t forget—this community is yours too. Tell us what you want to talk about, BB’s.
Because being a Blonde Baddie means being more than what people see.
It means being powerful, compassionate… and unapologetically real.

SPEAKER_01Okay, we're back for Blonde Baddies Part Two. If you're just joining us, I would encourage you to listen to Blonde Baddies episode one, part one, in TikTok, because even though I am going to post this elsewhere, I really am encouraging people to follow me on TikTok. So thanks. Go for it. And if you're just joining us, welcome. We just did a little bit of housekeeping. And there is one thing that I forgot to tell my group that was here earlier. So I said we were looking for a producer. And so this is going to be like a volunteer position for like a minute. Okay. Only because I need to figure some things out with this. And I I'm learning quite a bit, but I just could use somebody that's got some talent in movie editing, or maybe one of my old pals, like John Lerner or Mola Pen, that could maybe help me. I got this cute little, I don't know if you can see it, but it's a mixing board. And I got that like a couple years ago. And so I just got it out. And look, I don't know if you can see this, but look, I got a microphone. And so I don't even know if it's working. I hope it is, but I don't know. Anyways, so I'm looking for a producer. I'm also looking for a co-host because I'll be honest, talking to yourself in your home feels a little weird, lonely. Yeah, you're very hyper-aware of your mannerisms and how you appear in life. So I'll just say that. Okay. So we were talking about this poem that I read. I'll read it real quick to you guys. No, actually, I won't. You have to go back and get it off of the first part. Okay, so, and then we were talking about a work week. And so I told them that I work at a golf course, and I worked with this young man named Ryan on last Tuesday. And he was just delightful. And then I we worked with this other kid. I think his name was either Alex or Axel. And then there was a Logan and a, I think Chuck, I think. And then there was also Pat. And they were all super nice. And that job is like getting me moving. So that's good because I loved when I worked at Walmart. I was in such good shape. I was like lean and fit and like I just felt strong. And now I just feel like I've been doing what I've been doing, which is sitting on the couch, kind of. Not really. I mean, I've been going in the gym and stuff, but definitely not working as hard as I should. See, it's that self-accountability piece. All right. And so I am looking for a co-anchor. So if you know anybody, listen, I know the podcast is called Blonde Baddies, but this isn't about being blonde or even about being bad or. And when I say bad, I mean bad meeting good. So it's not about any of that really. It's about lifting people up and really just encouraging people because you don't know what people are going through, but also too, you shouldn't judge people. So I mean, I'm sure a lot of people are saying, Who does this girl think she is? Like she's gonna run for, you know, she's gonna want to get on this committee or that committee, or she's you know, starting a pack podcast. Like, who's she to start podcasts? Well, I mean, who who's anybody really, you know? If you like to hear yourself talk, or if you think you have, you know, wise things to say, why not embrace that about yourself and go with it? So, and anyways, who am I hurting, right? I mean, I'm over here if you it's just me being me, you know, I'm not out to hurt anybody, so we'll be good. I'll stay in my lane. How's that? I'll stay right in my lane.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_01So another thing I wanted to talk about through my week was that I traveled a little bit. So I took my youngest with me. And we have a lot of events coming up for my oldest because he's a senior, so there's like a bunch of awards dinners and you know, pre-graduation things, awards, banquets, and honors banquets or whatever. I don't think he's he has made honor roll. He's been on honor roll like the last few Martin periods. But so yeah, so I wanted to take Griffin with me because I wanted a little just mommy and griffin time, which it was really great. We had a really awesome time and we did get delayed a little bit coming back because of the spirit airline closure. It was really tough to find flights back. But we got here, and so now I'm just working the rest of the week and working on my proposal for City Bell Farms. That's the farm in Alabama that I'm doing the social media for. So I am hoping that I can get, we're gonna get some things to print, like some merch and stuff. So stay tuned for that. And if you're interested in seeing what the farm offers, go to Facebook and it's called City Bell Farms. And it's B-E-L-L-E, City Bell. And we are gonna build something pretty cool out there. And when I say we, I mean somebody else with more money. So yeah, I'm excited about it. I think it'll be a cool project, and it's you know, something that really aligns with my my family and my my kids and all that kind of thing. So I'm excited for that. And like I said, I have my oldest is graduating, so I'm a senior mom, so that's always a little, you know, and he's going to Cortland. I'm so excited for him. He was dying to get in, and he would he is living his dreams. So I'm really, really proud of him, and I'm really excited for him because I think he's gonna be a kid that really thrives at college. He's a very social kid, and I just I'm excited to see what he'll do. So we're celebrating that for him this week. And then I have a sister that has a birthday coming up on the 19th. So that'll be oh, that's election day. So I still encourage you to get out and vote, even though I won't be on the ballot this year. But thank you all for the support. And again, looking for a co-host, it could be anybody, it doesn't have to be a girl, it could be a dude. I just want somebody that I can have good banter with. You know, we can talk about anything like, oh my god, did you hear about the friggin' henta virus? Is that what it's called? I don't know too much about it, so I don't want to say. But you guys, that was terrifying seeing people being in quarantine on that boat, and they said the quarantine is too on. Jesus be with us because truthfully, you guys, I don't know. It's stressing me out, but just be washing your hands, be mindful that there are, you know, super bugs out there. And yeah, so we can talk news, we can talk sports, we can talk. I mean, I'm not gonna talk about things that I don't know anything about, but I'll just say I don't know. So it's whoever, it really can be anybody. So I am taking email through the DMs in I shouldn't say that, through the podcast, probably. Yeah, you have to go. If you're that interested, you should go to Buzz Sprout and download the podcast in full, part one and part two. Okay. And oh, also I'm looking for a sponsor. Okay, and so who was I just thinking about? That would be a really oh, I know who it is. I gotta call Dr. John because as he can tell, probably only him, I'm overdue. So Dr. John call me. Blonde baddies, I would love to run a special. Okay, so that's cool. What else? I'm anybody that would like to be a promoter for the blonde body. Blonde bodies, no, no, not bodies. There's there will be no bodies. There will be no bodies. No. Blonde baddies podcast. Feel free to reach out again through the email on Bussprout. And that's about all we have time for today, guys. And I hope you have a great week. Thanks again for tuning in and spread the word and hashtag blonde baddies.
