What's up?
SPEAKER_00Why don't why don't you answer your phone? Why does it say this call has been forwarded to voicemail every time I call you? Well, because it's eight o'clock in the morning and oh you don't have it like a ringer on at this point. There you go.
SPEAKER_01I get it.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_01Okay, okay. Do you know go ahead? I'm married.
SPEAKER_00And the wife do you know. You don't want your phone ringing that early. I just I'm it's my day's half over. I'm trying to I'm I'm I'm confused, but you your day's not half over because you live on a different planet. You live on a different planet.
SPEAKER_01That's right.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Do you know what a subboard is now?
SPEAKER_01I know what a subboard is. I sent you a picture. Looked fun. Looks fun. Did you do my did you do my thing? Did you do the life hack?
SPEAKER_00Oh I no, you did not do it. No, well, I didn't see anybody, but yeah, I didn't do it. But I I I did see the gardener, but and I I what did I see? The gardener guy, I I think I I don't I don't think I ever say good morning to him. No, you would have known. You would have you would have Yeah, well I need I'm gonna work on that. I'm gonna work on that again. I gotta I gotta I gotta get like a I gotta make him a reminder in the morning to say good morning to you.
SPEAKER_01I think that's it.
SPEAKER_00Look people in the eye and be and be and be uh and mean it j genuine.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, don't you think that's sad that you have to leave you have to leave yourself a reminder to say good morning to people?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean I'm in my own world, you know. I think we're all kind of in our own world sometimes. You you're caught up in your own world. And I mean partly that's what's going on. Like I think you have some sort of uh disassociation. Oh, yeah. I I think you have some sort of disassociation.
SPEAKER_01Did did someone get to you? Did someone get to you?
SPEAKER_00Nobody's gotten to me. I'm I'm I was trying to think about what you were talking about, about where you were you weren't present. Yes, and people were there, but they weren't there, and I'm and then I'm trying to figure out what that is, and it seems like it's some sort of disassociation. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Funny. Funny that you say that.
SPEAKER_00And uh disassociation probably has a host of things that could be, I mean, I need to if I'm gonna do some research on that, but but I'm not really good at research. But you know, I would say that um there's that there yeah, why do why is it funny that I say that? What's what's up with disassociation?
SPEAKER_01Because um who's supposed to get to me? Because my wife said I listened to your podcast and it's called disassociation, dumbass. Oh, it's not called put a hand in front of your face and you can't see the hand or the but the reason she knows that is because when I went to therapy to try to figure this out, that's what the therapist said. Oh and you could have just said that. No, but here's the here's the funny part. I don't remember any of that. Oh because I wasn't in that room. She remembered because she was. You know what? I think the therapist I I think you need to see a psychiatrist. I mean, I don't mean that in a bad way. That shit, that's not a bad thing. It was a psychiatrist. I can't I don't know the difference between a therapist and a psychiatrist.
SPEAKER_00Oh, a psychiatrist is somebody who prescribes medicine. A therapist talks to you.
SPEAKER_01And I got medicine, but it and what was your medicine? Did it work? Did it help? Did you try it for a month? You know, here's the other here's the other metaphor, because I I I don't have a great vocabulary and I have to use metaphors to describe things, which is um some some other topic we can discuss, but um it kind of relates to my memory. And the thing that I've discovered is it's it's maybe part of disassociation, but this is disassociation is generally um attached to trauma. And I can't think of trauma that makes sense. I can't think of trauma that would because it's been my whole life. I mean I've had traumatic things happen.
SPEAKER_00What what happened when you were a kid?
SPEAKER_01Nothing that I can think of. But he but here's here's the Did you get dropped as a baby man? I was probably dropped. But here's the thing that the the other thing is so in that psychiatrist room where the psychiatrist is ta talking, you know, describing my ailment and my wife remembered it and I didn't. The other metaphor that helps that that makes sense to me is I think of it like my record button wasn't on. Uh huh. Like the information went through my brain, but I didn't record it. I didn't have the record button on so that then I then I can play it back later and remember that.
SPEAKER_00You you could actually it's there's no problem with actually recording the like actually recording it, not just record button in your brain, but record button on your phone. Like actually record it, and then that might help. I mean, did you see them again, this psychiatrist? Yeah, I saw them a few times. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01And did they try different medications to see if like things would be the same thing and um tried the same thing and and and it and maybe it worked temporarily or maybe it kind of worked, but maybe I need to do like many sessions on it. I I don't know. But um, you know, we're not talking about anything inspirational right now.
SPEAKER_00You know, we're supposed to be No, I know, but it doesn't matter because uh uh you know I'm worried about you. I'm trying to I want you to get right. I uh like some people, I don't know about you, but I know many people, I know myself, I had a um kind of a block, like I would go I I had this block for any sort of like um medication for any sort of uh mental health issues because it feels like um like you failed or you did something wrong or your personality's gonna change or you know, something like that. And and and and honestly, I I really took a 180 on that because one once I realized that I was able to, you know, take medicine, not become a different person, just take more breaks, have better self-awareness. I mean, of course, like my psychiatrist was able to like pretty and there was the basically two different medicines, you know, one or the other.
SPEAKER_01You broke up your psychiatrist, what she basically was able to kind of get the right medicine right away.
SPEAKER_00Right, you know, there wasn't a lot of like, oh well, let's try this one, let's try that one, you know. Right. And so that made it it made it easier, but I do like I would I don't like pharmaceuticals, but I do think like wow, this is like whatever chemistry is messed up, it's it's but you know, it's it's getting corrected, and I'm and I'm and I'm I'm the and I have a probably have a tremor because of it, but it's better, like it's a good trade-off. I'll take the trade-off, yeah. You know what I mean? Yeah, yeah so I I do want to mention this is not inspirational, but you know, we can't always be inspirational, you know, for first of all, because we're not really an inspirational podcast. But we uh podcast, we're not even a podcast winner at all yet. But like I'm worried, I I I don't really like I don't know how to say this without hurting your feelings, but I know we're gonna run out of time if I'm not careful. I'm not really crazy about the titles, like with these exclamation points and all caps and exclamation points. I feel like you're trying to start you're trying to make it more exciting than it is. Like our kids rock. Okay. Or you know, like I feel like we need to just we need to we we need to dial it back and state things like I don't know. I mean, I don't want to hurt your feelings. I just feel like that with I think that you've done like at least like probably the majority of them have exclamation points after them. And I and I don't use exclamation points in my daily life, you know what I mean? Unless like somebody's about to get hit by a car or there's a snake, a snake in the road.
