What's up? What are you doing? You're doing setups? Woo! You did some setups. You just did like 300 sit-ups.
SPEAKER_00I wish. That would be awesome, dude. If I could do that. I'd be that'd be amazing if we could do three sit-ups. No, I'm trying to do the the natural man's version of sit-ups, which is not even sit-ups, just exercise, which is working the yard. I just uh got the bamboo stand and cut out a bamboo that I didn't like.
SPEAKER_01And I had to you're you're you're breaking up. I I can't hear what you're saying.
SPEAKER_00Kind of makes everything look bad.
SPEAKER_01I don't know what you just said. You said you sounded like a Cylon from Battlestar Galactica.
SPEAKER_00Oh, I guess I gotta get closer to the Wi-Fi then. The weefy.
SPEAKER_01What you doing? You know, I'm sitting on my porch drinking a cup of coffee looking for the spider. See if it's not back. He's not back. Or she. Did did you uh did you go did you enjoy the parade? Yeah, the parade was fun. Did you cook hot dogs for your employees?
SPEAKER_00I I was waiting for pictures or I was waiting for like, oh, here I am at the parade. Here's the parade. No, I didn't get any pictures.
SPEAKER_01I didn't get any pictures either of you cooking hot dogs for your employees.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, no, uh you didn't. Because you didn't do that. Yeah, so no, it it it it went badly, it went wrong, it went awry. Oh yeah. Oh yeah, I said, I told my general manager, what do we do about lunch? He's like, I got hot dogs and stuff. So I was like, okay, I'll come up there and uh grill out. And I get the grill and I get the and then you know I said later in a little bit. Because they usually I would think they're gonna eat around two or three, like when it's a little slower. And uh so I get my stuff together, my charcoal and my my tongs, and I decide I'm gonna go to Publix and get burgers and burger buns since they already have all the fixings. They got all might as well have hamburgers. Huh? They had he already had, yeah, what they got all the fixings. They got all the fixings. So I mean they put jalapenos on there, they can put melted cheese on there, whatever they want to do, you know. But uh, so I got all loaded up, and then I got a text, and he said, Oh, I'm up here now, and they've already gotten into the hot dogs, and you know, everybody's eating already because they're gonna cut people from the schedule and they want to get everybody fed, you know, so I was late. Wow. Wow. You know, and then and then I said I'll come back, and then I and then later I said I'll come back at seven after this uh soccer match. Yeah, and I'll go to the and I'll and I'll probably be we can eat by eight, you know, thinking okay, they're open till ten. They're they're not gonna be super busy, like it's not a busy day, so I figure I can be making burgers. And then uh he was like, Well, we're gonna cut a bunch of people because it's slow. So, you know, we can maybe make some now and then and you can make make some later. I'm just like, just forget it. You know, I'm I I did I should have planned better, right? I should have said, Hey, I want to do this. What time is good for y'all? And then they give me some times and they see it coming, and then they expect it, and then it all would be better. But me trying to make it a surprise, like they're not they're not waiting for a surprise, they're eating, they're doing their own thing, you know.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so I guess since we're supposed to be, you know, inspirational and informative and life lessons here. I guess the life lesson that we've learned here, because I'm I'm doing what my daughter Sadie said, which is listen, just listen. Yeah, good, good, and then and then like pivot to something, or not pivot, like good, you know, of evolving.
SPEAKER_00Uh what's the word they use they use the word where they uh transition.
SPEAKER_01Transition to something well, not even transition. I'm gonna use what you said to be inspirational. So um, like so, so here's our lesson. You need to plan, people. If you don't plan, yeah, then like tragic, tragic, tragic stuff happened. And and yet yesterday, Satchel, at your restaurant, Satchel's uh in Gainesville, Florida, there was tragedy. There was tragedy. I mean it was because they didn't get me. They didn't get they got hot dogs. It was tragic. Yeah, but they didn't get yours. You know, like you weren't out there, like you weren't.
SPEAKER_00Well, they wouldn't be mine. I'd just be smokier. They would just be smokier. I just make sure they were smoky.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but you weren't out there. Yeah, you know, you had a plan, which is out there.
SPEAKER_00I didn't I didn't have a plan. I mean, my plan wasn't good.
SPEAKER_01Right, your plan wasn't good, and you didn't plan ahead. It could have been awesome.
SPEAKER_00I didn't plan ahead. Think about it.
SPEAKER_01You know when it came to me?
SPEAKER_00It came to me on the floor, like no, like maybe an hour before I talked to you yesterday.
SPEAKER_01Right, and if you planned it, it could have been that. I can plan it next year, and I'll have a barbecue up there. We're supposed to be this is life lessons. If you didn't plan, if you would have planned, and it would have gone off the way you said, it could have been the best like day of their lives. And and you're you um you didn't let that happen. So that's what so that's the tragedy? Yeah, the tragedy is that they could have had the best day of their lives singing, holding hands, skipping with their with the the guy who runs the place, you know, slow motion shots of them hugging and saying, This is the best day ever, best day ever on the 250th anniversary of the birth of our country. With my with the guy, his name is on his name is on the restaurant, and we're holding hands, hugging, yeah. God, they you've got that's probably what would have happened. It would have, and you messed that up because you did not plan ahead. See? Yeah, see what we learned. So, but but but but uh I think we should focus on the positive and not the negative. Oh, and so we're now we're doing a life another life lesson, which is Yeah. Glass You gotta move on, you know, you just gotta pick up and move on. Hey, I've got an actual real life lesson that all came from what all came from what you just said. A guy said to me, one uh very successful car guy, he was like, he has a different theory about the glass half whole, glass half or glass empty, right? That whole thing. He said he was having a bad, he was in a real negative part of his life, and he was trying to analyze this glass half full, glass empty, class half empty thing. And he said, You know what I decided to do? And this is a real this is this stuck with me. He said, What I decided to do is just make the glass smaller. And what he did is he simplified his life, he downsized his life, he sold his big house and got a smaller house with his family. He just downsized everything, he downsized the glass.
SPEAKER_00I dream about that. I dream about that sort of thing. Didn't we? I was I love that idea. Just get rid of a bunch of stuff, make the glass live simple, make the glass smaller, same amount of water.
SPEAKER_01Love it. I love it. Boy, we've we've just learned so much here in eight minutes.
SPEAKER_00Oh yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01That's what I think.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I feel good. I feel good about it. I feel good about I get that off my chest. Well, yeah. Well, how you know how it was a little disappointing that I didn't get to go up there and be the guy which everybody's putting on their shoulders.
SPEAKER_01Tragic. I know, I know.
SPEAKER_00But next you know, next high five and then wrap it up.
SPEAKER_01We gotta wrap it up. That was terrible.
