What is good, everybody? Welcome in live to I do this every week. Welcome into My Damn Creators episode 16. I'm MDT got my boy Nate WSC over here. How are we doing, brother? We got comic Comic-Con literally reveals happening within hours of this being uploaded.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's gonna be exciting. I'm hoping there's some good reveals there and some things to get excited about because I feel like it's been kind of dry for like WWE figures and not that many exciting releases. We have Elite 127 coming out relatively soon. And I didn't order any of those. So yeah, hopefully we get like some some cool releases for Comic-Con.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's it's crazy that you say that because we've talked a little bit, but now that you start to mention this, I mean this we've kind of been in this kind of lull, weird period because I don't know, you go back to WWE World, and I know we've mentioned it 1252 times. What's 1253, I guess, but we talked about how there were no renders. And so because there were no render images shown, we didn't really know a lot of the stuff that's coming down the pipe. So we have no idea of real like there's been leaks, there's been this and that as far as you know, action figure reveals for tonight at Comic-Con, which I'll be there in person for, which is pretty cool. At the time recording this, it's a few days before I leave. But you know, it like I don't know, we we don't really know a whole lot that's coming down the line because of the lack of renders and the lack of knowledge outside of leaks, but we don't know what they're going to look like. We didn't really get an update on that. And so, yeah, you mentioned Elite 127. Elite 127, I kind of feel is kind of buns. It's it's not the most exciting set, at least to me. I don't know. I don't know. You said you didn't really pre-order them. I'm hyped for Nathan Fraser. The rest of the set, I'm just kind of I don't know, I'm kind of air on really. What it what are you thinking?

SPEAKER_01

I mean, the Nathan Fraser is exciting, but he hasn't been like on TV, like featured like he was. So I feel like that has an effect too on my excitement for it as well. But like, yeah, I've all I've been thinking of like just buying the figures once they come at retail, so that's kind of why I'm not like ordering it online as much if I don't really need it straight away. Bronson Elite is pretty cool, but we got that ultimate, which clears it. So, you know, you don't necessarily need the elite, but you know, it's a good elite too. It's solid. And the SAMU's cool, you know, to get an updated Sammy is nice, but the figure's kind of it's kind of not doing much for me, you know. The I don't really like the the legs with no mold. I feel like they really need to do some sort of tights mold for like Cody Rhodes and things like that, because it kind of looks weird on that SAMU for me, and it's got the problem with the shoulders as well, they're too huge. So there's that, and then Alexa Bliss is pretty exciting, but it also doesn't look that spectacular either. So yeah, it's kind of just a and JC Mateo as well. He got released, so again, that's not as exciting now because of you know the adverse effects of what WWE is doing. So yeah, you know, it's kind of just not that exciting. So hopefully you get some excitement at San Diego Comic Con.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's a really I don't know, even the gears. I mean, Nathan Frazier is kind of cool. I didn't expect the gold, but I don't know, the rest of the figures just kind of lack. I don't know, I don't really know how to describe it. It's just not a set that really jumps off the page. Maybe it's the lack of flashbacks, or or maybe it's just because we've gotten a bunch of those characters beforehand. I know that obviously JC Mateo, we've never had an elite of. Nathan Fraser's never had an elite, so that kind of goes back on what I'm saying. But we've had a ton of Sami Zayn, we've had a ton of Alexa Bliss, uh Brunson Reid's Ultimate Clears, like you said, the John Cena, we already got the greatest hits in hand, and I've already done a review of that like a month ago. So I mean, it's just there's not a whole ton there to really latch on to if uh if you've been around for a very long time. So yeah, I'm I'm really hoping that, you know, I thought last year's Comic-Con was really impressive, and I wanted to mention Comic-Con again, which I'm sure it'll probably come up at some point again. But if you guys missed last episode, you definitely need to go watch it and you need to get in on the giveaway. We're giving away potentially two Elite 126 pintas. If you guys want to get in on that giveaway, you could win a brand new free pinta on me and Nate if you guys want to. We're doing a bingo card challenge, which we will get to revisit next week, I guess, in a small segment when we kind of talk about the fallout of Comic-Con. But we're doing a bingo card talking about we we made our own bingo card, pretty much kind of predicting what we think Mattel will do based off of past history and patterns and things. And so we created our own my damn creators bingo card for San Diego Comic-Con. So if they end up revealing those or we fill out a row on there, we're gonna give away a bonus figure. And also, if you just go comment on that episode and leave us a comment on what you hope to see from Mattel revealed at Comic-Con, then you will also be entered into that giveaway. So we're gonna give away two pentas, I think. I think we're gonna end up winning on the bingo card. I think we're gonna end up getting five in a row. I think it'd be pretty cool. I'm gonna be uh do you think we should add a third figure giveaway if we complete the full bingo card? I think that would be pretty cool if we didn't mention that already. Yeah, that could be pretty cool. Yeah, we we could do something like that. All right. So if we've if so if you leave a comment, that's already gonna be a giveaway. If we get five and on the next video or this video? Uh I'd say go comment on that original one. Go comment on the original episode. That was our last episode. You see it. It's got like a Finn Balor demon in the picture, and then it says giveaway on there. You'll see it. You'll see it on the Might M Creators YouTube channel page. Go enter the giveaway, man. You don't want to miss out on that free figure, and potentially uh, I mean, I guess it you could end up winning twice, maybe. Who knows? I mean, I don't I don't really know. So it it's a good thing.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, go get involved in that for sure. Yeah, your chance to win a free figure on us. But yeah, speaking about San Diego Comic-Con, I got this special shout out to Mattel for sending me the three-pack for San Diego Comic Con. Pretty cool stuff here. It's uh the first ever Cindy Lauper, which is pretty cool. Girls just want to have fun, great song. But yeah, you got Roddy Piper, Captain Lou Albano, pretty cool stuff. I mean, this really caters to the the most hardcore of collectors, you know. For me, you know, I wasn't born around this time, so this isn't really made for me, but you know, the people who you know live through this or are really big Cindy Lauper fans, this is uh this is a really cool box set, really cool packaging as well. So yeah, huge shout out to them for sending that. You've got that in hand. What do you think of it?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I did a full review on the channel. So if you guys are listening to this, if you want detailed looks at that, all the figures, accessories, everything in hand, full review is live on the channel if you guys want to check that out. But yeah, I I think it's really cool that uh, you know, we get the first time Cindy Laupert's obviously a very long time coming. I think it's what 40 years in the making or something like that. So it it is pretty cool, especially if somebody, you know, was a kid then or around for that. I think that is that is pretty spectacular. Uh as far as the rest, and I also think the packaging is really cool, and I think the different things they did to celebrate it, you know, like doing an interview with her. I think they did like a sit-down with her and showcased it and you know, gave it to her. So Mattel made it all special, which was cool. But, you know, it's uh the rest of the set isn't the best for me. At least I didn't think so. Like the Captain Louis, just uh, you know, it's a re-release, got a new head sculpt on there, and then Roddy Piper. I don't know, man. That Roddy, dude, they need to they need to chunk out the Roddy Pipers. They gotta redo Roddy Piper. They just need to take him and completely revamp him. I think he needs a Stone Cold Steve Austin makeover. They need to they need to boot beef the guy up. They gotta make more noise with him, man. I think he's entirely too skinny and and he looks like a stick figure, kind of. I mean, I don't know. But yeah, the set the set is a really cool set and it should be going up for order. At the time we're seeing this, I think it'll be tomorrow at some point, I think, 9 a.m. Pacific time or something like that on Thursday. And then I think there's also another ultimate edition that's gonna be or some sort of made-to-order figure going up. And at the time of recording this, we don't know what it is, but maybe by the time you're listening to this or seeing this, it'll be hours later, probably. But they're gonna be putting up a brand new figure and we don't know what it is just yet, at least at the time of recording this. Hopefully it's it's good as well. But yeah, that's cool that Mattel sent that over to you right there. Yeah, it's cool.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I'll definitely open that up and see what we got there. But yeah, pretty cool stuff. I just wonder like how many, you know, people, because they kind of cater to you know that kind of audience, the you know, adult collector, you know, how many collectors are there that are gonna be interested in something like that, like a deep cut like that? What do you think the percentage is? Or like how how many, like a couple thousand, think?

SPEAKER_00

I don't I don't know. It's really difficult because I don't know, but I kind of worry for this set in a in a few different ways. Maybe it'll do better than Muhammad Ali, but you remember that Ultimate Edition 2 pack of Muhammad Ali they did for Comic-Con a couple years ago. So not not last year, last year was Cena, year before that was Shawn Michaels, year before that, I do believe was the Muhammad Ali two-pack. They had those Muhammad Ali two-packs for sale at that next year's WrestleMania, at the next year's WrestleMania, and they had them available on Mattel Creations for a while. And I think they even had some in hand at the Mattel store in El Segundo, California, like on the physical location. So I'm worried that this one's gonna follow suit with that in terms of sales. I just don't know how many people are over the top excited for it, but at the same time, it may do better because it's first time in the line, because it's got that exclusivity, it's got this nice packaging. I don't know. It's a it's an interesting take. I don't know what percentage of collectors and I don't know it, it's just weird. Like I think it's a good pick because you have a Cindy Lauper, it's tied into the pop culture and the Comic-Con-esque. I like when they do stuff like that. I think that's pretty cool. But I don't know. I I I really have no idea. That's such an interesting thing to judge. I really even if I don't know, sometimes I feel that way about you know, people that watch our channels or people that listen to this podcast or people that are just in the collecting genre. I mean, I feel like if you're listening to this podcast, you're probably some sort of hardcore collector, but you never know. I mean, I don't I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, either they're fans of us or they're a hardcore collector. But yeah, it's it's very interesting in general, like how many collectors who, you know, put them on the shelf and things like that, like you have back there, how many of those people like involve themselves in like content and things like that, consume content on uh social media and things like that? And or how many people are just more interested in like the productions and the the action figure matches, the the customizing, learning about those sort of things? Like how many, like what's the percentages of people interested in in that sort of thing? Or are they like you know, for the action figure matches, are they like non-collectors who are just watching and uh WWE fans? It's very interesting to think of that, and then also how it pertains to Mattel and who they're catering to when they're you know making things like that three-pack.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I think that when it comes to Comic-Con and stuff, it's almost I talk about this a little bit on the channel, and I even recently did a video talking about the harsh reality of collecting with WWE action figures and just kind of touch on the business side of those things. But you know, it's with exclusives, it's it's difficult. It's like a different you have to kind of sit on this fence where on one side of the fence you have it's something that everybody wants, but on the other side of the fence, it's something that nobody wants. So you have to kind of straddle that line of, you know, not everybody needs it, but everybody wants it. It's a very weird thing where, you know, because if you you make something exclusive, like let's say it's a Danhausen, it's like, oh my God, why would you make Danhausen exclusive? You know everybody wants him. But then on the flip side of that, it's it's kind of a niche thing. It's a it's a weird, it's a weird dynamic that where they have to it has to be sought after because you want people to have that exclusivity of it, but then you don't want it to be so you know, wide variety of or or wide net, I guess you could say. It's a weird thing.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, it's interesting. Like the San Diego Comic-Con exclusive, we were talking about it, and yeah, they are very catered to the adult collector and things. You know, you would think maybe they would do something more, you know, modern day, something more exciting like a penta or a Danhausen or something like that. That could be really cool. But yeah, I and I wonder, you know, you were talking about how the Muhammad Ali was available for sale. They had the Cody and Brandy two-pack at WWE World. Do you think that's an indicator that that didn't sell as well? Or you think they just had a couple left over?

SPEAKER_00

What do you think about that? I think for that specifically, I bet that was a case where that Cody was made to order, I'm pretty sure. So I think that was probably a I think that was a case where they probably maybe not them specifically, but maybe even WWE. Somebody ordered, you know, a bunch so that they could just turn around and resell them for profit, I imagine. I don't know if Mattel would do that necessarily, and I don't even know what the legality of that is, but I don't I don't know exactly. But I think that was a case of here's some extras that we bought so that we can sell them later on kind of deal. I think I could be wrong there. But similar to how, you know, ringside collectibles, they bought a lot of those drug-free punks that were made to order. It's the same kind of deal, I think. I think you know, that drug-free punk will come and it'll be sold out, and then you'll probably see some of those pop up at WrestleMania randomly or you know, somewhere like that. Maybe not Comic-Con. Comic-Con's a bit weird with how they do things, but as far as WrestleMania, it wouldn't shock me if some of those drug-free punks pop up at some point. Maybe not in Riyadh or, you know, WrestleMania 43, but somewhere down the line I could see them popping up. You remember that one year? I know this is kind of random, but you remember at WrestleMania 38 when they just had those random defining moments stone colds for no reason? No, WrestleMania 38 defining WrestleMania 38 at the superstore in Dallas, wasn't that Dallas? They they had defining moments stone cold, like a big stock of them just in the superstore randomly. The one from 2016? Yes. What the hell? Yeah, that's crazy. I don't know if that was a case of them just finding a random box in a warehouse or what happened there, but yeah, that definitely happened. I remember, you know, like if anybody's there, please get one.

SPEAKER_01

But I don't know how all that went, but yeah, I remember like when I was about 15, maybe I got into like the social media space and I never collected women's figures before, and I never collected flashbacks, and then all of a sudden I got kind of like motivated to collect all those things, you know, through the social media community. So I wonder like how many young teenagers or kids get influenced to like buy those and just become a collector rather than you know just buying all the con guys.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that's uh I don't know. I feel like that's why it's really important for you to have goals for your collection because I feel like if you don't have goals, then you get inspired, or all it takes is one little domino to fall, and then you're off the deep end, and you know, you end up with a bunch of lines that you don't really care about and things like that. And I I kind of am feeling that because when the superstars line came out, I was like, oh man, I really enjoy these figures. I'm gonna try to collect them. Well, then I miss a wave here, miss a wave there. Maybe you know, you see them on the aisles and you're just not really that impressed anymore, and you're like, damn, I've already got I'm on like four sets in on this, and then you skip a wave here or there, and then now you're your collection's kind of scattered, it's not focused, and then now I just want to sell them all because I'm like, if I can't complete them, I don't really want them. And I think that's kind of dangerous and stupid because you don't want to like you shouldn't have a completionist mindset, but in my mind, with that line specifically, if I don't have them all, I don't really I don't know. It's very weird, unless they made this one specific look of or character or something like that, maybe, but I don't know, it's weird. Like I have a sting that was a gift that's a I think it's a Motu sting. Yeah, it's the Masters of the WWE universe sting, but it's it's basically a superstar sting. And I'm like, I kind of want I want to keep that, but I don't know, it's weird. And then you have the exclusives like the Cody. I think the Cody's cool, and I don't know, it's like a you end up in this situation right here. Like I don't even know how I want to collect it or why I want to collect it. Like it's just dumb. Stick to your rules and then you know, branch out from there. And if you get inspired by somebody and you want to take on the challenge and whatnot, I think that's fair, but as far as I don't know, I just think having those rules for your collection is huge. Yeah, what are your current rules for your collection? So my current rules for wrestling are completely different than the rules for the rest of the rest of the things that I collect. But yeah, in terms of in terms of wrestling, I I think about this too, is like what would what would my collection look like entirely if you know the channel never existed? That would be an interesting thing to kind of divulge. But as far as other things, like I have to be very selective on Marvel and you know Dragon Ball Z, I'm a bit I don't know. That's a different probably a little bit different too. But with like Marvel, if there's a new Spider-Man coming out, I'm getting those. I have to skip a lot of the comic stuff.

SPEAKER_01

Just are you a completionist on those other lines? Uh like the like the Spider-Man and you know Dragon Ball Z.

SPEAKER_00

Nah, I'm not a completionist, but I try to like if it's if it if it's anything like Raimi, I'm getting it. If it's anything Raimi related or anything like with the new movie, I'll probably end up getting them. I don't know. I'm just it's it's it's difficult. And this is why you should have rules that are concrete before you get into it, because then you end up yeah kind of so you don't have any rules right now for your WWE collection?

SPEAKER_01

I guess it's just more so what you need for the channel or well, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I'd say as far as like I'm not searching out really any superstars, I'm not searching out any retros, I'm not searching, like I want to get all the ultimates I want to. I I'd like to have a I think it'd be cool to have a full complete WWE Mattel Elite and Ultimate Collection, but obviously that's like an ever expanding goal because I'm I'm behind on so many different lines, can't find them, or you know, don't want to break the bank, what have you, but that would be like a really cool goal.

SPEAKER_01

It's interesting when you want to become a completionist of let's say ultimates, and then they re-release like better versions of those figures. Does that kind of spoil the mood of becoming a completionist when you have doubles the figures, but one's way more inferior than the other?

SPEAKER_00

I don't know. For me, it's more of having them for you know reviews and things like that. I want the customer or whoever to know the differences and know the different things between them. So let's say they released, let's say we had an original Elite and then we got a from the vault version, and then they decided to do a top picks version of that. I would like to have those three versions just to showcase to the audience, okay, look, here's what you get with all three. This is how they were done. You know, maybe this one has slightly different deco or tan, and you know, let them make the best decision. So that's why I've always tried to hold on to older versions of characters so that I'll have them for reviews or what have you. But sometimes we get to a review and I don't have I don't have the OG. So, you know, you just have to roll with it. But yeah, I I try to have that, but it doesn't always work out that way.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, it's crazy. And you know, you've been on like a crazy grind because you got Sandy Comic-Con coming up, you're trying to film the Fed and everything. Tell us a little bit about like what's going on because I've I've been you know grinding hard too, trying to get this latest video out, which I'll talk about in a sec, but tell me what's been going on with you.

SPEAKER_00

Uh yeah, just I feel like I've run 900 to nothing, really. I mean, yeah, between different, you know, posting daily on different sites or different, you know, platforms. And then, like you said, I've been I know I talked to you about this before, but I think in the last five or six weeks, I've been out of town three or four of those weeks. So I've not been able to consistently film like I want to, on top of having other content planned because I'm gonna be away. It's just been like a really crazy stressful time. Time. I mean, it's a blessing, obviously, but at the same time, it has been pretty crazy. But I'm I will get it done as soon as humanly possible as far as the Fed is concerned, which it just I know we touched on that last week. It just pisses me off because I can already, you know, you know when you're you know, if you're planning something and then you know that a break's coming up, or you know that you're not you're gonna be away, and you can kind of foresee your schedule, like, oh my god, I'm not gonna have time to work on this. You're pissed off about it five days before you even or a week before you're even gone. So then you're pissed off of those five days, and then while you're gone, you're like, damn, I should I need to be filming that. But at the same time, I mean you're enjoying life and what have you, but that's very frustrating when you you know you have a deadline in your head or you know, a goal you'd like to accomplish, and then you just you're physically in unable to do it, and most of it, most of it's mainly out of my control because I've I've been pulling all nighters trying to get it done, and then you don't, so it's very frustrating. But how about you? How's your how's your match grind going?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I mean, you know, it's been like three weeks to get this particular match out, and I'll talk a little bit about like the process of that whole match. But like that seems like a long time for like the fans to wait and stuff, but it's kind of been the case for me, you know, these past few years. Sometimes it takes two to three weeks for a match to come out. But this one was very interesting. I had like I had to film it out of order. It was like I was filming the entrances and I didn't have like two of the trons. I needed custom trons. So I filmed the action, and then there was some stuff on the stage. I won't go too much into spoilers for anyone waiting for the full show or whatnot, but there was some stuff on the stage where it alters the stage or whatnot. So I couldn't film that segment until I'd filmed the entrances, and then I had the entrance graphics like up until the end. So I had to film it all out of sequence, and then there was this certain accessory which is in the thumbnail. I'll I'll show you right now, I'll grab it right now, but there's an interesting story with it. This accessory, this accessory is pretty sweet. It's this uh golf cart, which is made by WrestleStic, which is pretty cool. It's a 3D printed piece, and I knew he had made it, so I wanted to like use it in a video and stuff. But once I got it, the the wheels came broken off. So the filming process for this was very difficult because I'm wheeling it and then the thing just falls off all the time. And like through every take, it's just like you got to reattach the wheels. It was like two or three wheels on this that were broken off. So, and then also it was like balancing on the ramp. It's not just gonna stay on this slippery ramp that slanted down. So I had to stick it down, and sometimes the the blue tack holding it would just like uh like unstick and just roll down. And yeah, like it was a lot of fun doing that, but it was very difficult because the wheels were broken off. But yeah, I really enjoyed that latest video. And uh I want to get these WrestleMania matches done as quickly as possible, but you know, it stuff takes time, and you know, you have other daily responsibilities and things, and then there's just so much to the process that you need to do, like outside of just filming it as well. So yeah, it it adds up and takes a lot of time. And I also want to do like you know, other content like shorts and stuff for people that would be nice if I could find some time to do that. To do some shorts for this channel as well would be good, but there's only so many hours in the day, so yeah, it's it's a difficult grind for sure. Like there's a million things you got to do when you're a YouTuber.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, 100%, man. And that is that golf cart not based on the AEW one though. I think it is, yeah. Yeah, it looks identical to the one we were supposed to get with Sammy Guevara, and then of course they pivoted to the cardboard box version in that AEW archive pack or whatever, which was still a cool set. It I mean, I know it let us down because it was a cardboard box golf card that my son destroyed, but it's still, I don't know, that it's a very cool thing that Resolistic did with that. I think it looks sick and everything like that. I haven't gotten to watch the new match yet, but I know me and you have talked, so I kind of have an idea, but not completely. So I look forward to to watching that when I get a chance. But that uh yeah, man, any it's so interesting that you know people don't get to see or you know, they're not there. They get to see the final result. They don't get to see, you know, the the workings of it and how you know intricate it is and how tedious it can be, which I know we talked about that probably the longest on you know here on the podcast is just how tedious this this hobby is, or how tedious anything with creating content in this hobby is or in this community is, is just how I don't know, everything's just so tedious. You got these little hands, and you know, they get loose, and then you're trying to pose this guy, and then you know, one guy falls over. In my recent review, it's set up back now, but there's a review that's already been posted. I had that Hull of Champions pack, and I went to spin it, and it knocked over the entire WWE figure belt shelving back there, and all of them fell. It like collapsed, all the belts fell out, and it was such a tedious process just to get those little shelving things back in there, and then you gotta set it back up and get it all right and everything like that. It's just so it's very, very tedious, especially like we talk about with deadlines and stuff like that, and then you oh now I have to deal with this thing, and like I know it's like it's dumb and it's it's fun and it's you know, it's a blessing. It's just those little things where you're like, God, I just want to get this done, and then you know, you have another setback or something challenging like that, but you know, eff it we ball, you know, brain or shrine, we're grinding, so it's just it is what it is, but that is one of those funny things. I feel like we could probably if we strapped a mic to our chest while filming or you know, like a GoPro or something like that, you probably have a lot of funny bloopers and outtakes from all the cursing that would probably take place.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, we've had some like rage quit moments for sure. Filming.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, we need to probably need to do that one day. Just you know, when you start filming, just hit record or go live or something like that. Obviously, you have to do that. Have you had that before? Rage have you had that?

SPEAKER_01

Well, just yeah, frustration, maybe not rage quit.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, yeah, frustration 100%. Just yeah, you're on like the 11th time or 15th or 20th take, trying to get something to do right, and like the shoulder keeps falling, or some dumb QC issue keeps happening, or you know, the shot doesn't look right, or you know, the guys are balanced and you're like, oh, this is perfect, and then they lean back. And it's never it, I feel like it's never just the one issue, though. It's not just oh Jey Uso's shoes keep falling, but it's like Jey Uso will fall over, but then his head will hit into the barricade, and the barricade knocks over the fan, and then that fan dominoes ten other fans, and then that one fan drops his crowd sign, so now the continuation of the shot is effed up. So now you got it's not just oh Jey Uso won't stand up, I need to fix this. It's the fan knocked into that fan, then knocked into that fan, then knocked that crowd sign over, and now you have to go adjust all of that, and then in the process of probably picking all that up, you probably bump something else and then knock all that over.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah. It what I wanted to to talk a little bit about is like filming styles because there's so many ways you can film an action figure match. I wanted to get into a little bit of talking about that because I've done like pretty much every I've dabbled in a little bit of every style. I've done you know, pick fed, vid fed, even a little bit of stall motion as well. So I wanted to talk about that. You've probably predominantly done pick fed, and now you've done a little bit of vid fed. Now there's also like different kind of subgenres or different ways of doing, you know, vid fed as well, which we'll we'll talk about a little bit. But what's your experience been so far with the styles that you've you've played around with?

SPEAKER_00

Uh I I like them all in their own way. I just think that you know something we've touched on a little bit is just I think that the pick fed way is the traditional pick fed way is a bit dated now in the modern landscape. Not that you can't use elements of it. I think that I think the elements of it are still there and I think you could still benefit from elements of it. I just don't think it should probably be the whole shebang in the modern era. But I really enjoy the video style. I think the video style really kind of at the beginning kind of uh reinvigorated like a drive to want to get the show out even more because I think that it really just sucks you in once you get the full scope of it, you know, with everything edited together and you know, everything in the modern day, the figures are better, and the just the whole production of it just is so much more engaging and it really just sucks you into that universe and has you buying into what's happening, even if it's just action figures. So I really enjoy the the vid style. What have you seen between the two, or what's the biggest breakdown for you, or what's the what's some of the things you can speak to?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's like so Pick Fed, for those who don't know, is like picture by picture, like it's kind of like stop motion, but with less less steps, like slideshow, like okay, he's moving his leg forward once, he's moving his leg forward the next, instead of having you know the fluency of a stop motion with a bunch more photos. It's more like that, and it's interesting because I feel I don't know how the the mainstream audience feels about that. Now I've had videos that did millions of views with that kind of style, and you know, nobody there's not many issues with that. You get some comments like, oh, why is this laggy? or like they don't understand some people don't understand, which is what I think about is like, you know, do people, when they watch this, do they understand, do they get with it, do they enjoy it, or are they just used to stop motion? So that's why I've kind of gravitated towards you know, vid fed because it's all happening in real time. So when I, you know, dubbed it vid fed, I would always call it like real time. And then like people would there was a little bit of controversy of like the pick fed is like hating on what I was doing, and so I like differentiate differentiated it by calling it vidfed, which is basically I filmed pick fed like movements, but in video, and then I did like impacts and stuff in like you know, dropping the figure and things like that in video style. So it started off like that, and I always thought like if I could do everything in vid fed, like kind of puppeteering the movements of the figures, that would be really cool, and that's kind of what I'm gravitating towards now. Obviously, there's very intricate things that I kind of do that it's not really possible to do, you know, manipulate the figures to do all the things you want them to do. So you have to use some form of pick fed or stop motion, or if you can do that. So that's what I've been trying to do. But yeah, it's very interesting to know what people want or what people like the most because there are people who are very like it's ingrained into them, like they really like the pick fed style. So it's really interesting to know what people like the most. Now you've what from what you've shown me, you are doing like a you do have the pick fed elements, but it's filmed in vid fed and it's got like camera movements and things like that, and you do the impacts in vid fed form. So tell me about your experience doing vidfed stuff for your upcoming episode.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, so like I said, I think we've kind of evolved into this ever-growing, I don't know, changing landscape where you know it's not just one shebang anymore. There's, you know, there's it's you have pick fed influenced styles, I guess you could say, but then you have it mixed with, you know, your fingers off camera holding the guy walk. And then you have maybe a posed pick fed style shot, but then the way you move the camera is different, and then the the way the next shot is different, and it kind of flows that way organically between, you know, maybe maybe one shot you're holding them and you're moving him, and then the next shot is like a steel shot, but you're moving the camera, and just the way that it all flows organically is kind of what creates it. But I I've had a lot of fun with it. It's been challenging and frustrating, which we've talked about on the pod. But I think that again, it just really sucks you in. I think that it's a whole nother like back in the day you used to think, damn, this is so cool with pick fetting, but now it's like how how could this ever get any better? And now we're kind of you know, we we're in that era now where I think it is better. I think that you know, it just really sucks you in, and it's a lot better viewing experience for the for the fans and for people that watch. I think that it's very engaging, like I said. And I don't think I really going back to your question about how fans judge it, I think that I it's difficult to speak person to person, obviously, but I feel like as long as you know it's engaging and they don't feel like it's too clunky or whatever, and it just you know it's kind of flowy or it's not abrupt or whatever, I think that you know they're good with it. And as long as they're entertained, I don't think they're really gonna care. I think that they're more of just like, oh damn, this is really sick. This is like an actual WWE show except with action figures. And that was kind of the whole goal when I started pick feding or started my own federation, was I want it to be like I'm watching WWE television, but it's action figures instead.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's it's interesting to think about like, do they care as much about the details, or do they just care about like what you make them feel with what they're watching? Like, obviously, there's there's kind of levels of skill to it to to where like okay, if they tune into a creator and and they're like, uh it's not really, it doesn't flow that well, it the production isn't good, you know, maybe they're just less inclined to watch. But if you have most of the the basics down and you know it is like kind of good quality, good enough quality, I think it's more so do they just get sucked into the story and and you know what you're doing in the video and just engage with it that way. So yeah, it's it's interesting to think about that on a deeper level and you know what people like the most is hard to to really know because nobody really gives you feedback on specific styles that you're doing and whatnot. They just they just seem to enjoy the content, whatever it is.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I think that goes back to your you know kind of hardcore versus casual experience because I think a hardcore person may look at it just like they would look at an action figure and they may feel a certain way about it because they're in the weeds of it and they see it. They you know it's not their first rodeo. Now you get a casual in there and they just see, oh, this is a WWE match, but with action figures, and that's kind of the I think that's kind of your spectrum, your sliding spectrum where you get, you know, maybe the super casual versus the super hardcore, and then a lot of people just fall in that in-between line, and then you know, it just kind of varies person to person where which I think is why like the videos at face level are very entertaining and well made. Uh, because I don't think you can I don't think just anybody can make a figure match, and like maybe you may get a small boost because people maybe that may be a high search or something like that where people are looking for that kind of content. But if you really want it to be good and want people to see it and whatnot, I think it has to be well made and and you know at least intrigue the viewer, whether that's with you know your stories or your over-the-top, you know, entertainment or the production value, like we've touched on. So I think it's probably all of those things on a on a grand scale, like we've been talking about. So maybe you know, different things have varying importance, and then as you go down, the viewership goes down and up, and depending on you know, those different elements, I don't know. That's a that's definitely something to to ponder, which it also we've talked about this with just regular collecting, too, you know, with between you know people that watch not only the figure matches, but people that just and this goes back to what you touched on earlier, just okay, if if somebody's just a collector, are they watching content around collecting, or do they maybe just like you know, my personality, or maybe they just want to see what's on the shelves at Walmart, or I don't know, that's like a whole different dynamic.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's interesting because yeah, not every WWE figure collector watches action figure matches and things like that. They may engage in other forms of content regarding WWE figures. So yeah, it's interesting. And yeah, obviously there's there's matches and concepts that you know like aren't gonna do as well or like have higher potential and things like that. And yeah, I think I think you can't always do like huge matches that are gonna draw because if every match is like that, then everything will just start to degrade and it won't be as special. So you kind of you there kind of needs to be levels of like hierarchy of things, and you don't want to burn through all your big ideas too. So, but like what's interesting is you're you're fed you there's still a lot of stuff that you haven't done. Is there any kind of like match concepts and things like you've never done like a hell on a cell or anything or match types? Like, what are some match types that you want to get done in the future that excite you?

SPEAKER_00

Uh, I definitely want to do a hell on a sell at some point. I think we'll get that at at the big show. I think that's 100% gonna take place. Maybe somebody, I'm sure people can guess where that's headed, at least you know, if you've watched for a number of times or whatever, but I want to see that. Um The Elimination Chamber was a huge one that I wanted to do. So I know we've already done that, but that was one that I wanted to do for a long time. And then another one is I want to do a war game style match, but it would be probably a little bit different. Thought about adding more people in there or maybe changing it in some way, making it a little bit different. But those are probably the main two. Um, and then just I don't know. I've always thought about there, there's some fun things that I've thought about with like the multiverse that would involve you. I don't know if I want to talk about it on here necessarily, but there's some fun things there that I have ideas for that I wanted to ask you about, but I don't want to do it on the podcast. I think I think it's something that we can actually do in the future, and so I don't wanna I don't want to get it.

SPEAKER_01

Don't want to spoil nothing, yeah. Yeah, I'm getting a new head scan from heteration too, so you could you could get one easy, easily available.

SPEAKER_00

So yeah, I definitely need that. I'm gonna have to get one of those for sure. But yeah, yeah, and your head scans look good too. Need to get those. Oh, my new ones.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, are they available on heteration right now?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, they are available. Yeah, they looked, they looked good. I was impressed with them. I got my serious one right here. There's little mini me that's pissed off. Or however, I'm doing this. Yeah, it looked pretty good. I was pretty impressed with them. My kids said it looks like me, so I guess we'll just we'll have to believe them.

SPEAKER_01

Are they asking for head scans of themselves now? Yeah, my nephew wanted a custom of himself.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, my my son wants, he's like, Okay, you have yourself, you have mom, you gotta make me, you gotta make and then he's talking about his siblings too. I'm like, yeah, probably need to do that at some point. I'll have to use Nicholas or Kid Dom or something. Yeah, for real. I mean, you could you could do some fun stuff with that, like as far as Fed related. Like, imagine, I mean, there's so many ways you could slice that, like he's in the crowd, and then somebody like hits him or something. Like, you I mean, there's so many fun things you could do with that in terms of storylines. So that's how that goes. Go back in the multiverse and get kid MDT.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that'd be cool. Yeah, yeah, that's it. That's interesting. Have you ever thought of like doing some sort of those kind of concepts of you know, outside of the ring kind of matches?

SPEAKER_00

Uh not entirely. Like, I've just like flirted with the idea or like fantasy booked it, which is what I wanted to talk with you about a little bit, but nothing like too concrete. I think that right now it's just not in the in the cards, obviously. But I think a few future plans, yeah, maybe, especially you know, if you're like launching into this new era, you're doing like a not necessarily a reset, but if you're you know gonna start start fresh after you know you've done or you've completed.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. So when are we shooting for the next MDT episode? You think once you get back from San Diego Comic-Con, is there any other things planned that's going to take you out of action or no?

SPEAKER_00

Because I'll be I go, I think I go I go on two trips every year in terms of like you know mania and Comic-Con. And then it'll be football season practically, pretty much, once I get back. So I will not be going anywhere. So it'll just be straight filming and finishing it up. I mean it's so stupid. There's literally like I don't know how much time of actual like you know, actual filming time is left in terms of you know, you know how we've talked about like finished edited time is left in the show, but it's it's so it's not compared to the maximum you know time possible as far as the show is concerned as a whole. Let's say the show was 45 minutes, there can't be five percent of the show left or ten percent of the show left. It's so frustrating that you know you just I just haven't been able to quite finish it. We're like on the last literal moments and we just gotta get that done so I can get that up. But yeah, I look forward to it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, have you ever timed yourself like filming? That's something I did like started doing just to see like how long things take over the past few years. But have you ever like time yourself like how much did I accomplish in like an hour or something?

SPEAKER_00

Not actual physically timed it on a stopwatch or something, but yeah, I mean I've sat there and been like, damn, I filmed all day. I remember back on the old school Fed days when I would be finished filming, I could I could edit the full show in a day, like I would wake up at 5 a.m. and then edit practically all the all day until 7 or 8 p.m. And then it'd be like, okay, this is ready for tomorrow.

SPEAKER_01

So the footage editing for me like takes a while now.

SPEAKER_00

It's kind of now it would take long, it would take longer than a day now. But back then I remember that happening. And then filming in the current day, yeah, dude, it takes I know and it takes hours. I mean, it just is what it is.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, I like when you get in the groove of it, but like it's hard to like get on uninterrupted time, even though this is my job, so but yeah, to get like a full block of time to like really get stuck into it and then not get distracted by the editing and things like that. Because sometimes you can you can film and then you run out of storage or something, you gotta edit it, and then the editing takes like an hour, and yeah, it just gets all thrown out of whack.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I hate the like like you said, once you get in the zone, you can really you can really do some damage. Like you can really get in the flow of it and just go, but then when that time gets interrupted, like getting back into that flow sucks because it's like, damn, I was I was really flowing, I was killing it, and then you get thrown off, or you know, you have an extra tab open, like we talk about, where you know you're checking off another box you gotta do for that specific show or that moment, or maybe you can't move forward, like you said, because there's a specific thing that you have to do first. It's like a damn video game where I gotta I gotta go to the city and get the key to get the handbag to get to the wizard to get behind that wall, and then you have to like retrace and get all that mess. So yeah, man, that's frustrating, but yeah, we'll we'll get there. At least we have some exciting things to hold us over until then.

SPEAKER_01

So yeah, San Diego Comic Con later today when you're watching this, and uh yeah, I'm very excited for what we have.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, man. So at the time of recording this, it'll go up in the morning on preview night day, and then I think it'll be I think it's 6 p.m. on the west coast. So what's that for you? What's 6 p.m. Pacific time for you?

SPEAKER_01

I think that's like morning time, maybe 9 or 8 a.m. So that's that's a good time. But usually usually the the reveals go up like at midnight for me. I remember usually I wake up and I I see all the reveals. So but it'd be nice to have to be awake when all that stuff comes out.

SPEAKER_00

Well, if it's preview night, it's usually 6 p.m. Pacific, which for me would be 8 p.m. Central and then 9 p.m. Eastern, because it's preview night, and you know it's open for I think three hours and then they close it. But there'll be a lot of stuff on preview night, and then you know, the next day they'll have the panel, they'll reveal a sh ton more, they'll put more on display, and then you know, I'm interested. I'm really interested to see what happens with AEW and Jazzwares. I'm I'm interested to see if they have a display, if they have anything revealed, if they have anything, you know, on hand, if we get any news about maybe who takes over the license. I don't know. Maybe maybe we'll get some news like that.

SPEAKER_01

But are you gonna order the Derby that just went up?

SPEAKER_00

I already did. I did order that.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Did you order it? I tried to, but they don't send to Australia, apparently.

unknown

Wow.

SPEAKER_01

Which is weird.

SPEAKER_00

So what you're gonna have to buy it on eBay or something? Something like that, yeah. Yeah. Hopefully someone's selling it on eBay. I think it was like 55 shipped or something like that. So oh yeah. I'll have to yeah. I'll have to review that, I guess, when when I get back from California. And then I think that I don't I think Elite 127 is arriving when I'm gone. At the time of recording this, I'll be in San Diego, or at the time of people listening to this, I'll be in San Diego. But I think Elite 127 will be at home waiting on me. That Darby Allen will be at home waiting on me. So a lot of stuff to catch up on once you know we get back. But should be exciting. I'm excited for preview night. I'm excited to also see if our bingo card is correct. That'll be fun to see. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that'll be exciting for sure. I bet you're gonna be clocking it when you're there, just seeing like, oh, did we get that one? Did we get that one? Got it, got it, got it. Yeah, I'll have to be, I'll probably text you and because we got to get them all in a row, don't we?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, we gotta get them all in a row, but I I I really think we're gonna get I think we can get them all. I genuinely think I don't think there was anything on there that was just, oh, there's no shot this is happening. Probably the biggest leap would maybe be like the ultimate WCW Booker T, but I don't even think that's really out of the cards completely.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that's true. Yeah, so that has to be like pre-2001 when he jumped to WWE.

SPEAKER_00

I think so. I think I think I clarify, I think I put WCW Champion, maybe Booker T. But yeah, I think I don't know. We'll see. But I think that's all I got for this episode. What do you think?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, a little bit of a shorter episode, but yeah, we're just gearing up for San Diego Comic-Con. And yeah, we're just gonna keep trucking along, filming away, getting our stuff done, and uh, we'll see you guys next week on My Damn Creators.

SPEAKER_00

Sounds good, man. That does it for episode 16, which is kind of crazy that we've been going. Is that four months? 16 weeks. 16 weeks, four months straight of My Damn Creators not missing a single. I think the only time we were ever delayed was episode three. Was it episode three? We were a couple days behind because we were traveling for Las Vegas. Yeah. Yep. Crushing it, keep crushing it. We appreciate you guys. Like the video if you will, if you watch to this point, you know, give us a rating. I if you're listening to this on iTunes and Spotify or what have you, if there's a review section, give us a five-star review, helps boost us up over there and everything like that. We greatly appreciate it. But preview nights tonight, man. Be sure to go back on the last episode, episode 15, for the giveaway details so you can comment on that, get in on that. You don't want to mess out on that red pinta. And hopefully, we can give away three of those suckers if possible. So we appreciate you guys. Thank you guys so very much for watching. That is going to wrap it up for Might Damn Creators episode 16. We appreciate you. Have a blessed one, and we will see you guys next time.
