Kristie Ramirez, a fourth-generation Texan and media maverick, brings over two decades of Texas journalism to FRONT OF BOOK Texas. She was born and raised in Dallas to a working-class Mexican-American family. Kristie's byline graced the pages of Texas Monthly , Dallas Morning News, D Magazine, and Modern Luxury . Her writing on fashion, culture, travel and lifestyle not only captured the essence of Texas but also played a role in defining it. As one of the first Latinx writers hired on-staff atTexas Monthly and with her work as an adjunct professor of fashion journalism at Southern Methodist University, she is among the earliest influential lifestyle and culture writers in the state, breaking new ground in Texas media. Kristie brings her insider's knowledge and love of storytelling to FOB Texas, bridging the state's mythic past with its exciting future.
