Now, Rolling Green, also known as Greener Standards Inc. from Green New York, is an upstate cultivator with 20 years of combined cultivation experience. They use controlled environment agriculture, which basically means advanced tech and data to grow weed. They offer a pretty large selection of what appears to be tiered products. Their green tier is their lowest value tier. Orange is like their middle or standard tier, and purple is their highest or premium tier, which appears to be greenhouse grown. And their price points match their tiers. There are supposed mylar bags, but all we've seen so far are jars.

Lemon cherry gelato, a 6040 and Dika dominant strain, cross between Sunset Sorbet and Girl Scout cookies. Listed taste are citrus and berry. Listed feels are relaxed tingly and giggly. Dominant terps are lemonine, mersine, and caryophylline. Listed THC values, Leafly lifts it at 20%, all but at 19.2%, and rolling green at 31.9%.

As far as packaging, today we have a rolling green clear jar, 3.5 ounce jar. It looks like it's the orange standard tier, as mentioned earlier. And yeah, that sounds like we're ready for the roll. We're ready for the roll score.

Let's do it. Okay, we're back with lemon cherry gelato by rolling green cannabis. This is the roll, and I'm here here with the professor and the skipper. So, Skip, how much did it roll?

It rolled pretty even, actually. It broke pretty even, and the jar came pretty full. More actually, more butt in the jar than than I've seen before. And actually, it was enough to do one blunt, one pretty decent joint. And there's enough left over for possibly two or maybe even three more blunts. How was the look?

Definite runt smell. That's the first thing that hit me out of anything. Uh, when I when we opened the package, boom, it just hit us with that runt smell. It was like milky, smooth. I gotta say though, not fruity. I didn't get a lot of fruity. I got milky and smooth out of it. Dark greens, light greens, and browns mostly. Very pretty looking, bud. Strong turp profile, nice rolling green, very strong turp profile. A little dry, but still some suppleness. Some tricombs, if you look hard enough. Uh, other than that, I also gotta concur with you, Skip, that it it was a huge amount. So it must be a very lightweight marijuana because it was a lot in the package.

Well, yeah, it's a very light, very airy, almost breaking it up with your fingers. It almost feels like cotton, that type of uh phenotype. And also, I wanted to note that these were nicely trimmed, actually, and the stems were not excessive at all. I had to say the trimming was impressive. Very nice job, Rowling Green.

I don't know why this keeps bringing to mind runs to me. I've even said runs a few times by accident when I was describing this. For some reason, it brings to mind runs, and I know that they're kind of similar genotypes, but yeah, the milkiness, no fruitiness, that's more gelato than runs. Great turp profile, but no fruitiness. The closest it comes is like a small sour candy kind of thing, but no fruitiness at all.

I think that's why I keep confusing it for runs. Yeah, because it tastes like it's like you know, in the realm of characteristics. Right. Pretty strong ladder, too. Only thing I would say that runs is uh has a like a sweeter turp profile as far as uh notes when you smell it.

Yeah, this one is more sour, sour candy, but definite milkiness, like that's like in there, that's the gelato touch.

Yeah, that milkiness. Or smoothness, kinda, you know. It's an underlying note. There's like a note on top of it, a sweet note and an underlying milkiness.

Good pull, smooth pull. I mean, it's a choker though. Like you will cough a few times, but taste good tasting pull. It's a good exhale. I'm already starting to feel something kind of under the eyelids a little bit, and I'm about a third in. What was important for us uh to test one of the standard or orange uh tiers because we are in the beginning of our rolling green cycle, and we already tried one of the green or value, and we thought it was actually pretty good, but we felt like it had a cap. So we're trying to figure out if it's a higher cap with a higher tier, you know.

So maybe, maybe not, or just overall quality, right? Right. Turp profile. This one, would you say that this has an improved turp profile over the green one?

One thing I will say is that the green one had an impressive turp profile. Yeah, it had a very impressive turp profile. Right out the jar.

And this one also, when we opened the jar, too.

I literally went, I cracked it open and I literally said, Wow, right away. I smelled it. Like right away. One of the things that I see Rolling Green does very well is they put one of those like seals on the package, and it seems to do some work towards preserving the terp profile. Another thing I noticed Rolling Green does very well is that it gives you the percentage of terps on their label.

I think that's fantastic. On their label, exactly. That you don't have to go entirely to the COA on their label yet.

It says it on their label, and so that's also acknowledging that if you're not getting any terps from this package, something is wrong because it's telling you it's supposed to have terps. I think that's impressive. Good job, Roland Green.

Definitely seems to be their thing because right out the jar. I mean, we can do a whole another podcast about jars and Marlar bags. Jars, we can even break that down to plastic and glass and what have you. It's become a popular medium. I don't know if personally if it's the best medium. It probably is for a certain amount of time. And then each manufacturer comes up with their own way to maintain levels of freshness within the jar. And this one here didn't have a moisture pack, but it did have an a pill seal, like a pill bottle seal on the top.

That's what I'm talking about, the pill bottle seal. I think that's a nice touch, very nice touch, and I think that does some preservation of the turkey.

Because the nug, at first, it had a bit of a crunchiness to it, but as you kept squeezing, there was suppleness.

Right, right. I have to say that is correct. And like I said, uh as far as tricones, if you looked hard enough, you could try. So basically, I found the tricomes by breaking it over and then seeing them on the inside of that. Right, on the inside.

Now I will say, not a good idea to have a clear bottle, but and that, you know, is popular now because they, you know, people want to see what they're buying. But that also has decreases the shelf life, doesn't it? Of course. And causes degradation faster. But it seems to work better for you know some uh cultivators over others. They seem to have it. And I gotta say, so far, rolling green, yeah, the the jars as far as that freshness perspective.

Yeah, I have to say, yes. I also agree. I have to say that so far from the ones we've tested, you open the package, whoosh, you get hit with the terps right away. Looks like it's somewhat fresher than you know some of the other brands that we've tried. Uh so I mean, I would I would like to do something about that price point though, Rolling Green. But other than that, I think, yeah, I can say that I've been not I would I'm not gonna go so far as to say as impressed because I think this should be standard for all companies. But I am I am happy to see that someone is following through with things that should happen.

Right. I mean, I can say even before we started this rolling green series, with my personal experience, I've never come across a jar of rolling green that didn't have that characteristic. Never met a chalky one, a hard one, an old one. And again, you know, everybody's experience will vary, but I gotta say, not always the most impressive. Even though the weed has suppleness in it, some of them were hit or miss on the turp profile. You know, there's some were very subtle. I remember one of my first rolling greens, I had that experience. But this one actually improved upon that.

I will say that I have very little experience with rolling green, and I am going in this as you know, someone who is open-minded and hasn't had any experiences yet. And from the limited experience I've had so far, I can definitely say that it's been pretty good. I I opened the packages, very strong turp profile. You know, people underestimate what that does to your high. People underestimate that. But strong profile, you know, weed looks good.

I mean, the entourage effect, it makes you higher.

It could has a taste. So, already past the second, third, and definitely a high that I am familiar with. Definitely a gelato high. Um, not too high in the sky kind of thing, but definitely steady, definitely feeling good. It's a conversational high for sure. I don't see myself dancing, but maybe I will hang out in the lounge. Uh, you know, if you had gelato in your life, you know how this feels. It's that same high, you know, right behind the eyes, frontal lobe kind of thing. Uh feeling good. It was a good experience smoke-wise. Uh, made me a little chatty. I'm not gonna lie. It made me a little chatty as I was smoking. Uh, definitely felt the sour candy taste. Did not get a real berry or well, okay. I could say lemon. I could say lemon, right? Because those were the tastes. Lemon, citrus, and berry, right? Sour candy kind of thing. Turp profile was good. More milky than fruity for sure. And I am high. I'm not gonna lie, I'm high. Am I smacked? Remains to be seen, but I still have a third left.

Lemon cherry gelato. One third in. Actually, one third left. And that tells you folks I am high. And it's uh pretty mellow, constant high, and uh chatty vibe, pretty good. Uh creative, you know. Me and the pro were just having a few throwbacks here and then next to you know, we formulated a lot of ideas. It's actually a pretty good communal herb here, you know. And I don't like the gelato, but I would say maybe it has a lot of other characteristics, you know, that mellows out the rougher edges of the gelato. You know, I would say that this actually, to put it in another perspective, is like a professional version of gelato. You know, devoid of all those other type louder edges that gelato usually have. And we'll see you right back in the just finished segment.

So I guess the best thing I can say about this is that um the other day I was smoking another one just to do another review segment, and I found myself writing notes and trying to capture the feeling and things like that. And I gotta say, with this one, I'm sitting here and I am just talking and laughing with the skip here. And when I look down to do my just finished segment, as I just finished, I realized I have no notes. I didn't even do any notes. So it's gonna be, you know, one of those freewheeling phases over here. So what I'm gonna do is uh just talk about how it makes me feel now at this moment. I am definitely high. And it's that definitely gelato high, where it's not, you know, too body or too heady. You're just like right in a middle zone, but you know you're high and it makes it versatile in its in a sense. Uh you know, it's it's definitely that electric feel at towards the end of the smoke where you get that like electric taste. They said, what was it? Uh it's not citrus or berry. I'm not gonna say berry. I didn't get any berry at all. It's a good high, it's a fun high. We were sitting here cracking jokes, uh formulating plans, um just shooting it, you know, shooting the breeze. So it was really nice to, it's a really nice communal kind of high. Something that it's good to hang out with. I'm not sure now that I uh think about it, because earlier I said it might be something you can party with or lounge with. Now that I'm thinking about it, I'm not sure that it's I can take it that far. But I can definitely hang out with like some friends, you know, do something fun. Not too crazy though, we're physical. Little tingly too. I can get the tingly thing going on as far as body, but nothing as far as heavy. Uh we'll see in an hour if that turns into heavy, because sometimes that happens. And so, yeah, I think that's pretty much it. Good high. I am high. I might even say I'm approaching smacked level. I might say that. So I guess I'll let you know better one hour later.

I can appreciate the fact that although this is an Indika dominant varietal, I feel more of a heady high, but the relaxed part of it is definitely present. So the juxtaposition of both is actually pretty pleasant. I kind of expected, as we all could expect an Indika to feel different, give you a bit of a couch lock and turn you down considerably. But this is not the case here. It actually had a good chatty vibe and a creative vibe. So I don't favor some characteristics over other. I like weed overall, but this balance here, I like it. And we'll be back again at the one hour later.

And we're back with one hour later. So how did it go for you, Skip?

Actually, uh, it started out as a functional high, very high, actually. You know, the gelato high is inescapable. And uh it was very functional. I got around to do a few things, felt very energetic, especially once I got up. But the high dissipated, at least I thought. And then 45 minutes into it, I just got around to do a few things and I realized I was doing high things. So I wasn't outwardly high. But when I was trying to focus, there I couldn't do it. So there I knew there was something going on here, you know. So I over or maybe underestimated the the high. I thought I wasn't, but in actuality I was. But it was more mental. And that goes into my next point. It morphed into the mental, which I really didn't have a problem about with it, but it just my own anticipation kept going in there and saying, wait, this is not the way it's supposed to be, you know. And that's how I felt. So how was that for you?

You know, it's funny because you write little notes and stuff as you go through that, right? And I started to read my notes when I first walked away from it, and I was like, started to step away and chill out, have water, hang with Skip, etc. Definitely high. Got quiet and introspective for a moment too. Man, that is some high nonsense. I must have been smacked when I wrote that. I gotta say, I gotta I must have been smacked. I like that 20 minutes later, you and I got into a laughing fit over you forgetting something. I thought that was pretty cool. That's like old school. Uh somewhere around like half an hour in, you know, it was a funny, giggly kind of high. I like that, you know. I'm normally not a gelato guy because it has that like electric aftertaste, you know, it's harsh, usually more indica-like. But this one's very well blended, I gotta say, it's a versatile high. Although I sounded like a doofus earlier, you know, I also hung out quietly, which is what I was trying to say, and it was actually alright too. Like I was just chilling, reading something on my phone. So quiet with this is good too. Um, one thing I will say is you do not want to be put like in a down mood, I don't think, smoking this. I don't think it's good for that. It's not like for heavy issues or stressful thoughts, but yeah, like I could see that the Indika elements will like kind of dip into that a little bit and can be activated thus, you know. But then again, that could just be more high talk, right? But it does kind of feel that way. Like if you take it to a dark towards a dark turn, it will not be an enjoyable high. This is more like uh, you know, I feel alright, I feel hanging like chilling. If you're in that mood, or if you're like happy and want to like laugh a little bit, this is a good, this is a good one. And like Skip said, I'm not really a gelato guy, so to say that says a lot. And I think we're ready for the smack a meter. What do you think, Skip? Let's do it.

Well, I gotta say, high health steady throughout. Uh, but giggling sessions are gone by now, by the hour. Uh, I love giggling highs. I gotta say that. I love when a high makes me all giggly and laugh and stuff. I really enjoy that. It was a good strong high, something versatile and fun. Good turp profile. I gotta say that, but no berry. I didn't get berry. I I could if I stretch it, I could say lemon. It was more like sour candy and milkiness, a lot of milkiness in the in the profile, in the taste, a lot of milkyness. Uh, no jokes, please. Enjoyable from open to smoke to aftermath. I thought it was very enjoyable. Not for depressed persons. I'm gonna say that again. Can be a downer if you let it. Um I was too chatty during the one hour later, so I'll keep this one short. And with that, answering the eternal question, are you high? I give this one an 8.1. I think it was a good high, a giggly high. And the real reason I haven't given it anything higher is because the giggly part didn't really last past the 45 minute mark or so. But other than that, really good stuff. I can't lie. And I say good job, Rolling Green.

Well, I'll give it a 7.8. The reason it didn't even make the 8.0 mark, even though it's still high, is because the high morphed into a mental high where I it was hard to chase. It was an elusive high, but when I tried to focus, Derek came. So just basically for that reason, what I did favor was the fact that, like I mentioned before, it is a gelato, but because of the blend, it's a more pleasant gelato, if I can call it that.
