Rolling Green Cannabis, uh also known as Greener Standards Inc. from Green, New York, is an upstate cultivator with 20 years of combined cultivation experience. They use controlled environment agriculture, which basically means advanced tech and data, to grow your weed. They offer a pretty large selection of what appears to be tiered products, and their price points match the tiers.

2022 Leafly Butt of the Year, a 50-50 hybrid cross between Sherbert BX1 and Gelato 41. Dominant flavors are pepper, plum, and apricot. Dominant terps are caryophyllene, limonine, and mersine. Dominant effects are giggly, relaxed, and talkative. The THC contents are as follows. Leafly has it listed at 25%, all but at 28 to 30%, and Rolling Green is claiming 27.4%.

As far as the packaging, it arrived in a 3.5 glass jar, and it was of their orange tier, which is their middle tier or standard. They also have a green tier, which is a value tier, and a purple or premium tier. Are we ready for the roll, Skip?

Broke pretty small, bro. They're very small, big buds, but broke small. So we had to grind more just to get one joint and one blunt going. After that, there was not much left.

I gotta agree. Barely enough. Barely enough. As far as the look, it has lime green, forest greens, and browns. It had a milky turp profile, which is strung for the package. It kind of smelled like gelato, that strain with a slight touch of apricot, but I didn't get any plum out of that. Did you skip? Not yet. Okay, there were some trichomes, but not a lot. And it was very supple and fresh. It wasn't dry at all. And that's fantastic. Yeah. We ready for the smoke, Skip? I'm ready, bro. Let's do it. Let's do it. That was a joker from the beginning. Yeah. It opened up pretty rough there. Yeah, that was a rough opening. I have the slight taste of apricot. I don't taste pepper. Do you taste pepper? No. Tiny, tiny, slight taste of plum and apricot. I actually kind of taste it a little bit. But it's very, very mild.

We might not taste the pepper, but I believe that's what we're feeling, the caryophylline.

As far as the coughing, right? Yeah.

And according to Lee eats the main turp. Yeah, I can see that. It's a pleasant flavor.

Very gelato-ish. It has like um the gelato characteristics, that milky, kind of smooth texture, fruity. Fruity.

A little dense. Yeah. Right? The smoke. Yeah. If you pull too much, you're gonna cough.

Also, I can I'm starting to feel the mercine effect, you know. The I mean, and really that's wrong to say effect because a particular term doesn't have, you know, it has characteristics, you know, not just one type of feeling.

But you're getting one of the characteristics.

It's found in abundance in sativa dominant varietals, and it has that that headiness, you know. But that doesn't mean being that this is an indiga dominant varietal doesn't mean that it can't have, you know, that is correct. Sativa characteristics.

I definitely concur. About a third in. And yeah, starting to feel it in my face, my eyeballs, but not a high yet.

Seems like the coughs are the conduits to the high.

Right. It's like we're coughing it up. We're coughing up the high. Yeah. Which a lot of weeds work that way. A lot of strains work that way. Yeah. About halfway in, and I feel the high coming on. I don't know where it's going yet. I don't know how high it's gonna go, but I do feel a high coming on. And it seems like uh Skip and I were here having a conversation, and it's kind of like working with that. Yeah, it's funny because it seems like with rolling green, the high follows like what you're doing or how you're feeling. Yeah, the mood is like a mood chaser. Right. Instead of it changing your mood, it's like it kind of and amplifies the mood you're in. But the problem with that is that that could be good or ill. Right, right.

It could be because most people, you know, they invite things just to uh loosen their current mood. You know, if you're a little uptight after work, whatever, grab a beer or grab a blonde, whatever. You use it to change how you're feeling.

Right, to feel better, right? But if you're feeling like crap and you smoke weed and it just makes you feel more like crap, you know, that's not really an enjoyable experience. Everything's relative. So I guess our advice for you folks is rolling green. Hey, we're not saying don't smoke it, but be in a good mood. You know, I can't say that about all rolling green products. There are one or two that we sampled that like transcended that and were actually like uh stood on its own. But you will have to listen to those reviews, good mates. And that's what it is, and that is the point of our podcast. We're trying to be John Q public that walks in a dispensary, buys this product, and this is the average experience. So we never announce ourselves, we never say, hey, we're testing marijuana, because we don't want the guys to give us their best stuff, you know, to look good. We want to act like a regular customer and get the same stuff you get.

So that we can, you know, tell you what it's like. Down to my last third. There's a high there. It's not soaring any heights for me at this point, uh, but there's definitely a high. So far, feeling social, feeling talkative. Not particularly anything. So I'm not feeling giggly. I'm definitely relaxed, and I'm definitely talkative. We've been just yapping away. So those two hit, but the giggly part, not yet. Hopefully that part hits. I love giggly weed. Uh, but other than that, uh, you know, just feeling the high, not too high, not smacked for sure. Right. And, you know, I guess we'll just keep going here and I'll let you know how it feels in the just finished segment.

Are you feeling but let's just start off like coming from the tree. Wow, but it does have that apricot plum kind of thing. You notice that? Yeah. But it's like on the exhale that you you feel it. Like you don't get it on the inhale, you get it on the exhale. That's a little odd feature there. At least for me. I don't know for you, Skip.

No, I get it. I mean, I keep saying it's like gelato, but I can do one better. It's like gelato in the basis of it. You know, it's a obviously like a higher, maybe like fruitier version.

And for like the past three minutes, I'm still on my last third. Like, what the hell just happened right there? You saw that, right?

I'm telling you, it even happened to you too, man. Oh, we just high and acting up. If we're high and don't know we're high, this is a hell of a high, I gotta say. Right, it would be the ultimate. You know, it's funny because I was gonna start this segment by saying so relaxed, so talkative, and I but I want to be giggly. And, you know, like while waiting for the mic check and finishing things off, I just started laughing and you know, acting silly about the stupidest things. And the skip is here looking at me like I'm crazy. So I think I finally got to the giggly phase, which is pretty cool. So at last, it has arrived yet, unlike what I just wrote here like 10 minutes ago. Are you high for sure? Smacked, hmm. I can get there if this keeps ascending, I can say, and I really want to be smacked. Definitely a good strain for socializing, and but I will say one thing, a choker for sure, you know, and I guess I'll leave it at that and see you one hour later.

Just rounded and finished my uh last third and going into the just finish, and um yeah, I'm high. Yeah, it's it's um it's functional, you know. I can read, write, do what I gotta do, no problem. And I realize that I'm high, you know, but it's and also it uh has this effect wherever I put my um my concentration on, everything nothing else matters at that point, so I just go. So I can see that.

That's serious focus. Well, that or AGHD, either one, you know. But uh listen, knowing Skip very well, even this hint of levity, it seems like maybe the giggly is starting to take effect here. Hope springs to turn all, right? Good mates one hour later.

And we're back with Giggling Highland one hour later. How does it go, pro?

It was a very interesting experience. So it started with just a relaxed and talkative feeling and uh like yearning to be giggly. Then it went into this phase where it was just totally giggly, which was really fantastic, but only lasted, I would say maybe 10-15 minutes tops. Then I got into a phase where it was back to that like talkative, relaxed kind of phase. And then in the last 20 minutes or so, it felt like it just the floor just dropped right out from it. And the high just became really downer kind of high. And I don't know if it is it was just a quiet moment that happened and made you know created that effect, or it was the effect that created the quiet moment, but that it got really silent right there at that moment. Um I also like felt like you know, it it was like so downer that it I was already dozing off a couple of times, and it that's a real different feeling than what I was feeling just a half hour before. So this was definitely an experience. How did it go for you, Sky?

Yeah, well, very similar. It uh turned into a downer word. Yeah, I mean, if you weren't careful, you could doze off. It went that you know, it went that deep that fast, you know. And it started off the very you know, familiar gelato taste and feel, but it changed. Changed rapidly and um a downer. A downer felt like a downer. You know, it it's good for those, you know, it'll help you go to sleep, definitely, if that's what you're looking for. You know, or if you need a little turn down.

I wonder if you are in a situation where you don't have the opportunity to be like in a downer place if it would have just stayed in that level longer. Right. The giggly talkative, you know. But yeah, it was a huge change for a short amount of time. So it was kind of jarring. I think we're ready for the smackometer. What do you think? Yeah, I'm ready. Okay. Let's do it.

You know, it was a total roller coaster ride. That's the best way I can put it. You know, I have some experience with the strain. I really actually like the jealousy strain. I've tried it from other growers, and it's one of those strains that I actually enjoy. So I had some expectations, and some of them were there. Uh, but this whole roller coaster ride feeling was very, very different from any other jealousy experience I ever had before. And I am really, really wondering, you know, if it was mood led to effect or effect led to moon mood. And I I think that that means that it it has to be tested further in a weird way, you know, like but like do it outside somewhere fun and see what happens. It might be actually fun if you, you know. Whereas in a more introspective light, it might not be a good strain for that kind of stuff, or quiet, you know, thing. One thing that I will say is throughout you get bouts of talkativeness, so it's a talkative uh strain for sure. At the judge right at the just finish point, I was super giggly, and that was like for that 10-minute session, and that was really fantastic. But then towards the last 20 minutes or so, the talkative wore out, and that's when the roller coaster ride took that turn and just dropped, and the floor dropped right out from under it. And so thinking about the whole experience, opening the package, that was a great turret profile. Uh you know, the presentation was great. Uh broke small though, but that's you know, that might just be the strain, it might not be the fault of the grower there. Um putting all that in perspective and the fact that it got me to that certain level of high where I was actually giggly, I think for the roller coaster ride that it gave me, I will give it a 7.5. And I will say that because I I didn't like the drop, but I am I'm being cautiously optimistic that it was more if in an in another instance you won't feel that drop. Right. But uh, you know, I guess that warrants further study.

How about you, Skip? Well, we're matched pretty even, pro. I would say the same, seven and a half. And um the reason why I'm still high. It's a consistent high. Yeah. It's a consistent high. The only thing is that it was uh unexpected for me because I don't know why I anticipated for it to be a different kind of high. You know, maybe a more sativa leaning. I don't know why I even thought that, but here it it's a bit of a downer. It has that downer effect, very heavy on the eyelids, you know. And there's a there's uh time and space for that, you know. I I enjoy those too. I just didn't anticipate that for it to be the the after effect. But other than that, it's a good smoke.
