Rolling Green, also known as Greener Standards Inc. from Green New York, is an upstate cultivator with 20 years of combined cultivation experience. They use controlled environment agriculture, which is a fancy way of saying advanced tech and data to grow your weed. They appear to offer tiered products, and their price point matches their tiers.

Obsidian Kush, an 8020 Indica dominant cross between Black Domina and Scots OG. Top terps are pinene, fershaw, and guyol, also known as Champacol. Tap effects are relax, euphoric, and sleepy. Top flavors are pine, citrus, and pungent. THC contents are as follows. Leafly is posting it at 17.6%. All Bud has it at an even 30%. Rolling Green has it at 33.9% THC.

And it came today in a 3.5-ounce glass jar. It looks like this is from their Value or Green brand, which is their budget-friendly brand. And today we received this from Woodhaven Cannabis Company. Our friends there helped us out getting this strain. It normally costs anywhere between$35 and$45 this tier. And yeah, that's about as much as it cost us today. Are we ready for the roll, Skip? We're ready. Let's do it. Let's do it.

And we're back with the roll. So how did it go, Skip? Did it break big or small? It broke small. The nugs actually are pretty large, but breaking them very small. What does that mean? That means that when it's broken and ready to be rolled, it does not equal the whole amount. So it takes more of the nug to make a blunt or a joint. In this case, it was enough for both, but there was not much left.

I also got to say this package had the smallest amount of weed I've ever seen so far in a rolling green jar. A little skimpy, I agree. At least it appeared to be. As far as the look, it had, like Skip said, small, medium, and large size buds. They were dark greens, browns, and light greens. It had a turp profile that wasn't too strong, but it was there and it was piney, kind of an old school piny smell. Not many tricones to speak of. Not super supple, but also not dry either. Are we ready for the smoke, Skip? We're ready. Let's do it. Let's do it. Yeah, so so far, okay. Smoke. Not a choker at all. Definitely a pine thing. I'm not getting much citrus or pungent. I am getting a lot of pine.

How about you, Skip? A lot of sweet pine. And and not it's sugary, but in the back of the tongue. So it's like you don't get the sweetness, but that that anticipation for it is there. A light smoke, but it is easy to get fooled because it's not dense, but it's potent.

Right. So, you know, careful with the pull, but if you take a regular pull, you should be alright. Um, am I feeling something so far? I'm already starting to approach the first third, and I can say definitely feeling something in the nostrils. You know, that's me. That's always where it starts. Uh, but I'm not high yet. As far as feeling uh euphoric, I'm not gonna say I feel euphoric. Do you feel euphoria?

Relaxation, yeah. I feel chill. I don't know if relaxed is the right word for it. It's more like chill. And sleepy, definitely not sleepy. How about you, Skip? Not at all. Okay, yeah, pine, pine, pine, right?

But not in an unpleasant way. Right, yeah, it's not a in a bad way, like a sweet ending kind of.

And from what we understand, according to the terps listed, it's actually like tripling down on pine, on a kind of pine flavor. Yeah. Because pinene is also well, it's pinene.

Uh fenchel is also kind of a pine eucalyptus thing, and so is guile. So it's looking like they're trying to get that, they're really pushing in the pine. And I taste it. First third in, and it's moving into the frontal lobe. But I'm not gonna say I'm stupid high or anything like that yet. Nothing like that yet. Oh, becoming a choker on the second half.

Is that the smoke is potent? Not much of a talker, apparently. Well, it has its ability like to keep you in a focus. So if you talk, you talk. If you don't, you don't.

I think that's correct, Skip, because I just sat here and tried to concentrate on the high. And I am getting high. Yes, I'm definitely starting the high.

I don't think I'm in full cruising altitude like you usually normally say, Skip, but I'm somewhere in there.

Yeah, it's like a graduating high. You can feel the space, it's like making space for the high to continue. High talk.

Some of these herbs that we smoke, while we're smoking, they make us so chatty. And this is the complete opposite. We're just sitting here quiet smoking it. Yeah, so it looks like this is a good solitary marijuana so far. I don't think it's I think it's not conducive to social settings if it keeps you quiet like this, because you're gonna have a room full of quiet people. You know, we admit that this whole tier thing with rolling green, it's it's a little uh confounding for us. Yeah, we find that there are three tiers, right? Green is value, orange is standard, and purple is premium. And we usually like are confounded because we the the the color of the tear doesn't say anything to us. We've had some of the best ones we've tried are in the green or orange, and then some of the worst ones we tried are in the purple. So it's like across the spectrum. So I don't know if the tears are quality or if it's like aesthetics, right? Maybe the prettiest looking herbs because it's true. That's one thing I can say about the purple tear that every time I open it, they're beautiful, yeah, and they're pretty, and the terps are really nice and they smell wonderful, and you know, it tastes great when you're smoking it. Yeah, or it tastes exactly like it's advertised, right? So, like for example, we smoked one that had a tobacco, and it literally tasted like smoking a cigarette, yeah. But um but I digress, uh it's it's interesting to us, and we're a little confused about what the tears are. So, you know, maybe we're gonna have to get a shout out from Roland Green so they can explain to us a little better what these quote unquote tears are supposed to mean.

Yeah, what are the criteria?

Is it an aesthetic quality? So prettier looking, prettier smelling, prettier tasting.

And I can say that in the the green series, it the it looks a little bit a little bit more raw. You know, the trimmings are the same, but I notice that in the green the the leaves are more curled in than the orange ones, the orange ones are more prettier.

And then every time I see a purple jar, it's like really pretty. Right. You know, that's something I can honestly say.

And and smells great too. To juxtapose the effects so far, it seems like at least for myself, the green labels are winning overall. Like this one today, for example, is is getting up there, it's pretty impressive. Yeah, I I am definitely high right now. Yeah, and I haven't even finished. Exactly. High, the smoke is potent, so you're getting a good percentage of THC per pull. So that tends to make you cough is a bit sharp because of it, but it's very subtle to smoke in itself, sweet at times, complicated in in its notes.

But in the defense of the purple tier, I can say that uh one thing, a feature that I've had from most of the purple tiered products, is that when you smoke them, whatever effect you get, even if it's not as high as some of the others or whatever, it lasts a really long time. That it does. That's something I can definitely say. It takes a while before I want to smoke again, right?

You know, and that's a good thing. I'm not gonna lie. Of course, of course. You gotta get you know good THC value for your money.

But if I was to say which tier sang the most to me, honestly, as of right now, the orange tier. Yeah, the orange tier, almost every time I smoked something from the orange tier, I was like, yeah, this is great. Like I think out of four or five, I think only one I didn't like. Right. And you know, the others might not have been my cup of tea, like certain others, but even when I tried it, I still enjoyed it. Like it was like, wow, this is enjoyable, you know. Like, and I think the orange ones did that to me.

I can say overall, because we've reviewed quite a lot. Yeah, we've already reviewed quite a few. And I can say overall, rolling green, I like it. You know, it all every one of them I tried has something. Something that's true.

I there was not one that I said, okay, I didn't get high, I didn't feel this. Some of them were like, man, this, and I had little quibbles and stuff like that.

Yeah, there are a few mehs in there, but they had those had something. Some of those, I don't want to say names, but the the flavors were there. It was pleasant, some were sweet, some were a bit pungent, but present. So they all have a uh attribute, a good attribute, actually. So I haven't met a bad one yet. There was one that I thought that we talked about that I thought because of its characteristics was, but when I tried it again the next day, it was not I wouldn't say a totally different experience, it was the same experience, just enhanced, a little better than the last time. And I was able to enjoy the characteristics that before I didn't like it. Wow. So the question is if you would have had to re-rank it, would you have re-ranked it higher? Yeah, I would have. And I will, and I will because I will revisit that. That we're gonna do. Yeah, maybe that's something that we need to do.

Well, at least the ones that you know we didn't feel good about at the first, so you know, it's it's give them a fair chance, you know.

Yeah, or easy, or for me, it could be because of how smooth the high is that it's not like uh a full-on high, like one would you expect, you know, ride on your shoulders. None of that. It's light, so it's like in and out. Am I high? Am I not?

In that sense, I concur. It's almost like an old school high feel, right? Like old skunk weed or something. It's pretty good, but I don't feel right, like I feel like there's a ceiling. I don't know if I've reached it yet. Maybe I'm full of crap and this is just high talk. But we'll see. And maybe that's what they mean about the green tier. I don't know. Maybe, but it's not an overwhelming high, not at this point. And I didn't really feel this with other green tiers, like so. We'll see how it goes. And you know, I still have a ways to go, so so hitting the last third, and I have to say, slight choker here, as you can hear my voice, and also it's really an old school high feel, very old school high feel, old school skunk, yeah, right? Like old school high feel, yeah, and that's pretty cool. Um at least from what I hear, you know. Yeah, right. Yeah, in the beginning you felt a little silent, yeah. It's a that was a little weird, right? And now it's like a little conversational, so that's interesting. Yeah, I guess it just goes where you want it to go, which is like kind of a hallmark with rolling green. Yeah, it goes where you want it to go. Yeah, mood chaser for real. Don't be sad on rolling greens, don't be mad on rolling greens. Be happy and at peace in rolling with rolling greens. It just makes it better, I think. Well, maybe that just makes all weed better.

And if I be honest, I haven't felt smacked in a really long time. In a while, in a while, like smacked, right? I haven't had an herb. No, that's a lie. There is dispensary weed that has done that to me once or twice. That I felt smacked, like smacked. Yeah, but it was usually the first and second time that I tried something. Right, the hook.

You know, it's our policy to not talk about other brands or strains when we're concentrating on this one because it's not fair to the strain we're reviewing, right? But yeah, there I can think of a brand that really got me smacked and no longer exists. And that's a shame.

So I'm I guess I'm rolling right into my just finished segment. So, in doing so, I gotta say, pleasant smoke. Uh, some sometimes a choker, though. As you can see, I'm here clearing my throat, right? Um, it was a good smoke. I feel high, you know. I'm not smack though, but I'm high. I'm high, and it's a fun high. Like it's a pleasant high.

Uh frontal lobe, back lobe, it's like a full head thing. Um, you know, lifted. So it's not like a wide high, but a vertical high. I feel like the standard old school vertical high. Yeah, it's nice. This is nice. It tastes great, you know. The smoke is light, but it's powerful, and you can feel it. You know. I like it. You know, it has its drawbacks that it might it keeps you in your focus. So that's where the quiet times come in, but it's alright, man. You can share it with folks and have a good time. You can do it yourself, no problem. I'll definitely buy this again.

So how did it feel, Skip? Yeah, I'm not as high as I thought I would be now, but the remnants are definitely there. And haven't been high, you know, the the coming down of the euphoria. And I also noticed that in the come down, it feel or it felt more like a cush. You know, I was waiting for that, anticipating that in the smoke, and I didn't get any of that. But yet in the come down, it gives you that heavy eyelid feeling, you know, things that are markedly indica, and it's there in the come down.

So did I get the euphoric? A little bit, kind of slightly. Like I felt good. Uh relaxation, yeah, definitely. I definitely had relaxation. Sleepy, no, but I can see how it can get sleepy.

Like if you do this after a long day, it'll relax you down. Yeah, you'll definitely get sleepy because of the relaxation uh aspect. Uh yeah, it was a good high. I didn't get super smacked or anything like that, did you? No. Um, but it was a good high. I thought it was a fun high. You know, we were shooting it like we always do, and symbiosis was well, the conversation went well, you know. So, so I thought that was a nice touch. Uh, you can also be in a quiet mood. Yeah. Something that I found interesting is that it felt like something that you could work with. You could do work, like yeah, you could be functional with this, which was pretty cool. But I also felt like what I said earlier, like there was kind of a ceiling to it. Like it wasn't, you know.

My first half hour, it and it and my first half hour into like my last 20 minutes, I it was the same level, but it kind of started to taper off a little bit. Became a little more tingly, like you said, a little more indica effects, a little more soreness here and there. But uh aside from that, it was yeah, a pretty good run. Yeah, uh, it's on now. I'm on the come down, and it's not a bad come down, it's a good high. So, yeah, I think that's where I'm at.

Alright, so this is the complete rundown, right? So let's start from the beginning. Good packaging, good turf profile when it started, right? It was like small and medium-sized buds, or one or two large ones. So it was a varied size bud. But like Skiff said, it wasn't as refined as their other tiers. It was a little more rough around the edges. It wasn't it wasn't as presentation-wise as beautiful, but it wasn't bad either. Uh, you know, pretty piny old school smell, and I can say that through and through, like the taste, the exhale, and from when we opened the package. Uh, it wasn't dry or anything. It was a you know, so their packaging is pretty consistent. As far as the smoke, it was uh pleasant, it was a sweet piny taste, which was not a bad taste, uh, good smoke, somewhat of a choker from here and there. A notable feature that I recall is that it's the high started rather quickly. But like I said from the beginning, it felt like it had a ceiling at some point, like it wasn't gonna get past a certain point, which can be a good thing or a bad thing because you might want to smoke something that you don't want to get too crazy high, right? And because you're busy doing something, of course. Never handle heavy machinery when you're smoking or do any kind of driving or anything like that, but you know, you might want to be working or doing something else, and you don't want to be too crazy high, and this might be a good one for that. So, my final tally, I will say great fun, old school high feel, but with a ceiling. And with that, I give it a 7.8.

What do you think, Skip? Well, I'm uh right along the same old lines there, pro. Um, I agree. It was uh great from beginning. The turp profile, the notes was impressive, the suppleness, the citrus. Everything about it physically was. Very appealing, and getting into the role and into the smoke, the appeal continued. So it was uh it's good all around, and for that I'll give it a 7.7.
