Smoking session review of the Oreoz cannabis strain released by Rolling Green Cannabis.

SPEAKER_05

From Summonwood Studios in Wood Summit, New York. You're tuning into Gigland's Highland, the 420 podcast, with your host, The Skipper and the Professor.

SPEAKER_04

And welcome back to Gigland Highland. You're here with the Professor and the Skipper, and today we are reviewing Oreos with a Z by Rolling Green Cannabis.

SPEAKER_05

Rolling Green Cannabis, New York State cultivar based in Green, New York, with 20 years cultivation experience. They utilize CEA technology to gather info and use it in the cultivation process.

SPEAKER_04

As far as strain history, Oreos is a hybrid, 70-30 hybrid of cookies and cream and secret weapon. The terps are caryophylline, lemonine, and mersine. The effect is relaxed, hungry, and tingly, and the flavors are tobacco, vanilla, and coffee. And as far as THC content, our friends at Leafly say 20%. Our friends at All Bud say 29 to 31%. And our friends at Rolling Green say 25.67%.

SPEAKER_05

Three and a half gram or eighth glass jar from the Purple Label series, which is their premium offering, greenhouse grown. Average price 40 to$50. This haul here came from our friends at Bayside Cannabis. You ready for the roll? Ready for the roll, Skip. Let's do it. Let's do it. And we're back to the roll.

SPEAKER_04

How did it go, bro? Well, it broke decent. Not big or small, but it was a decent break. It wasn't too crazy. It broke basically what you put in the the shredder. Was the sample enough for both roles? Definitely enough. In fact, this had quite a bit in the package, and I would say it had enough for maybe one or two more after. How was the look, Skip?

SPEAKER_05

Tons of tricombs, nice medium-sized nugs, dark to pale green with tons of orange hairs, tobacco and coffee notes everywhere to spare.

SPEAKER_04

Definitely decent turp profile. Not strong, but decent. Lots of trichomes. I gotta concur with you on that one. And it was very supple, not dry at all.

SPEAKER_05

Definitely. You ready for the smoke? Ready for the smoke, Skip. Let's do it. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

But I taste no vanilla. Do you taste any vanilla? Mm-hmm. Nothing at all. Early choker, but then it settles into a smooth smoke so far.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

It's a pretty thick smoke, too, isn't it?

SPEAKER_05

You know?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Wow. I think I stand corrected, and this is just an actual joker. I don't think it's getting smooth at all. We think it's smooth and then we start coughing.

SPEAKER_05

It has a characteristic like tobacco smoke, that it um like tobacco smoke tends to dry the mouth. It has that characteristic, you know.

SPEAKER_04

You mean more so than marijuana normally dries your mouth?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, and that's where the cough is coming from, at least for me, is not the smoke itself making me cough, it's the dryness that I feel.

SPEAKER_04

Well, I'm about a third in at this point and not feeling anything yet. I feel like a little funny. Like my spider senses are tingling, but I'm not feeling any high yet. So anticipating what's going on.

SPEAKER_05

The butt in itself, you know, this is from the purple series, so I look at it or I try to look at it in its totality, you know, as far as bud is concerned. So the way it looked, you know, trying to compare it to a green jar or even an orange jar like we had recently, the presentation is a little different, only in the fact that it seems to me like the bud is a bit more denser.

SPEAKER_04

Yes. Also, it seemed much more uh nicely cultivated. You saw that all the buds were like a uniform size, they all look pretty. Yeah. There were no like weird.

SPEAKER_05

Even though I noted that in the uh orange series, the trimming and the stems were also impressive. You know, the trimming is nice, but also some varietals have uh like a robust stem, while some are, you know, and that's all in the training, and these seem to reflect that.

SPEAKER_04

Do you put your more expert cultivators on the purple?

SPEAKER_05

Do you roll in green?

unknown

Tell us.

SPEAKER_05

You know, and that's in what I was trying to uh to say. That when I look at it, I try to judge it in its totality. So I saw it physically, and is it an improvement over what I saw in the green bottle? A little bit, not that much, a little denser, you know. And then now going into the taste and into the smoke profile, you know, almost the same up to this point, you see. So then the question lies, right? Where's the improvement?

SPEAKER_04

You know, what is the the tier, right? The tier criteria, right? Because like we were looking at them earlier. We we, you know, because we are testing these products, we have of you know, half a dozen more here that are all different brands because we are testing all these brands, right? So we're looking at all these brands, and some are green, some are orange, some are purple. And when we're looking at them, we're saying, well, okay, is it the THC content? But we're noticing that some of the greens have the highest THC content.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

And so, okay, so then it's not the THC content, right? So is it the turp profile? But then we noticed that, you know, we had a uh I think the loudest one we had out of all the ones we've tried so far, green, orange, and purple was an orange one. Orange, yeah. I think it was an orange one. In fact, both orange were were louder.

unknown

Right.

SPEAKER_04

The last two oranges were like the loudest of all, right?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

So then it can't be the turp profile. Right. So if it's not the turp profile, is it the strain? But that would be strange too, because I'm seeing some strains in green that are very popular, right? So the question is, what is the criteria? Right.

SPEAKER_05

What makes it premium over over, you know, value?

SPEAKER_04

What is it? Value standard and premium, right? Those are the three tiers, right? Green, orange, and purple. So what makes value that has a higher THC count than premium, right? Than the other premium I'm seeing right here, what makes that one value and this one premium?

SPEAKER_05

Right, exactly. What more? Because from what I'm seeing so far, I can't see it. So is it growing methods? Indoor and outdoor. That's you know, long been the measuring stick, and I can see how they're trying to use it here by claiming some are greenhouse grown over others, and that could be it there. But as far as quality, so far, they're all to me been pretty even.

SPEAKER_04

Not to mention the fact that it's indoor and outdoor. So why do you have three tiers? Right. What is it? One was half in and half out.

SPEAKER_01

I guess that's what greenhouse means, right? Well, it's inside, but it's outside in the greenhouse.

SPEAKER_05

You know, everyone has their preferences, you know, but the market is is puts more value on the indoor ground. Well, that's the reason for that, especially in New York State, is not strange. It's just that it up to now the consensus is that the uh New York State is doesn't have the same, I guess, minerals or whatever you need in the soil to do what other states can do, like California and what have you.

SPEAKER_04

Well, I mean, climate-wise, they got us beat a thousand percent, right? Okay, you see climate. They can grow way longer into the year than we can. Right. If we're gonna grow outdoors, right? Right. But if you're growing indoors, none of that none of that stuff matters. Right. So it really comes down to it's a real interesting question. It's like, what is the difficulty of growing? Strain by strain, yeah. The one more there's some that are more difficult. Rolling green. I want to know why purple is purple. All right, don't just tell me it's greenhouse grown or premium, like because this one here is 25% THC, and the last green I had was 29% THC. So it's not the THC, it's not the terp. What is it? Tell me what it is. I'm about halfway in, and I have a kind of a mild high, it's not a strong high. Um if I were to describe it as just like the beginning of a high. Like there's really nothing identifiable at this point.

unknown

Right.

SPEAKER_04

So I'm sitting here asking myself, do I feel relaxed? No, not really. Do I feel hungry? Well, I just recently ate lunch, so I don't think that's gonna do anything. Or, well, what was lunch? It's not lunch time, but it was lunch. And do I feel tingly? No, no, not really, not yet. How about you, Skip? No, none of those things? No. That's like some guys I know that they smoke their marijuana in tobacco. I could never get into that, I gotta say, I want to taste the the marijuana.

SPEAKER_05

You know, a lot of places that is the norm, you know. Grabber. That's what you know, the grabba thing is in a lot of the dispensaries and they you know, mix it. I've I've had the pleasure of uh sharing a smoke with a few brothers that really that's how they did it. They couldn't do it no other way. Like they felt you know the high was too intense, so they would control the high using grabba.

SPEAKER_04

Wow, but I mean the thing is that the cigarette the tobacco also gives you a high. Yeah, it gives you that head rush.

SPEAKER_05

Right. So it's a you know, different to just having pure pure weed.

SPEAKER_04

Like what I'm more familiar with, a lot of my old buddies do is that they'll smoke the J and then right after they'll smoke a cigarette to like enhance the the high. Yeah, yeah. That one I'm familiar with. Hey, not knocking it if that's how you work. Right. We all work different, it's however it makes you feel good, you know? I've never experienced it myself. Uh it just felt like I want to taste the marijuana, you know. Like, yeah, I want to be like, oh yeah, you know, like love that feeling. Okay, so I'm about at my last third, and I think I'm I'm with a skip here. I feel something, but can I say I'm high? Not really. Like it's a weird feeling. It's kind of like you said, like I'm kind of relaxed. Now I could say I'm relaxed. Like I feel relaxed, so I guess that's the high cut setting in. I don't feel tingly and I don't feel hungry. So I don't know. Hopefully, there's something else goes on here that we don't know about. So down to the last third. Let's see how it goes. And you know, the funny thing is like most pot heads that are true pot heads, you get down to the last third and you're like, wait, I'm not high yet, and you start panicking, and so you start getting quiet and just concentrating on taking deep long pulls and like not trying to waste any of it just to be like, let me make sure. Let me make sure. So I think I'm in that phase right now.

SPEAKER_05

But let's just start off like coming from IU feed to so I just finished here, and I gotta say, there is a high.

SPEAKER_04

There is a high, but it's a very mild high. I have to honestly say that. Uh it feels very like so the relaxed part is definitely there. The hungry part, no. That might be my fault. The tingly part, definitely not either. It's it feels like a low-grade high, you know. Um one of those highs that you get when, you know, it's not really a uh really quality herb, but you you know, you get a high out of it, but it's not spectacular. It's not something you're gonna talk to your friends about, and it's really kind of like that. So I can't really locate what they're I guess what they're trying for me to locate. One of the things that I did notice was that I the turp profile was lost somewhere in the smoke. And at one point I couldn't taste the tobacco nor the coffee. I never tasted the vanilla. Um, and that might be an issue too, as to why I kind of lost it somewhere. So I'm I'm you know, I'm hoping I sit back for a little while and see what happens.

SPEAKER_05

Rounding out my last third here, heading into the just finish. And um it's a high there. It's it's not prevalent. It's even hard to understand that I'm high. I noticed that though through like my speech patterns, but everything else is fairly normal. So it's a fairly even high that doesn't ascend and stays around. Ready for one hour later? Ready for one hour later, Skip. Let's do it. And we're back with Giglin Highland. One hour later. How does it go, bro?

SPEAKER_04

Well, one hour later was an interesting experience. Uh, the first 15 minutes, I felt high, but only on my face and kind of behind my ears, but not really head or any other type of body high. I mean, I I guess at that point I can just say um high, but nothing more. No characteristics to speak of. Maybe relaxed. Oh. Uh, at this point, the disappointment is palpable here in the Highland. That was like in the first 15 minutes. It's like that high that when I first started smoking weed, and I used to buy these like nickel bags that were not bad, but totally unspectacular hydroponics. No, no type of strain, nothing like that. Just some simple hydroponic. And it was a functional high, you know, enough to go through your day and stuff. But later, when I became a better pot connoisseur, I learned about better weed, you know, with terps and traits and effects and things like that, you know. And I just didn't get that from this one. It started to morph into somebody at some point that was like starting to settle in. Um at the 30-minute mark, it kind of started ascending a little bit, you know. Thank goodness. But it wasn't high, high, still not high, high. However, I started noticing something about the the high itself, it seemed to go wherever my mind went. Uh, so like when it like so conversation helped jar it a little bit in the beginning, and it went into action, and I got more body when that happened, but not a relaxed factor still. Then uh, you know, still figuring it out, and it was still following what I was doing. So when we were listening to music, for example, skip, it enhanced the high, and I started to feel really good. And I was like, wow, I'm kind of really high. This is working out, and it was got higher, but then we turned off the music and I started working a little bit quietly, and the high kind of fell along with what I was doing. Right. When then after I started hearing an infomercial and it almost killed the high, like it was like, oh, snap, like turn that off. And I think you know, when I told you to turn off that infomercial, yeah. So then we started talking right after, and the high kind of rose again. So it was like a little strange experience like that. It's a head rushy kind of high. I can definitely say it didn't really go further than that for me. So I guess I'll leave it at that. How about you, Skip?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, it gave me a little relaxation thing there. It took the edge off, you know, a lot of that so uh shoulder pressure there is gone. But everything else is a reminiscent of a cigarette, but uh like the buzz from a cigarette. It's a smooth smoke, but it feels like I smoked a spirit cigarette, you know, those a spirit geese. Kind of like, yeah, exactly. So if no kind of caffeine thing, but a little jolt there, and that's how it feels, you know, so far. Let's see how it goes as it continues, you know.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, well, I guess it sounds like we're ready for the smack emeter. I'm ready. Let's do it. Let's do it.

SPEAKER_00

Definitely feel like this. This is alright. This is actually all right, and definitely feeling this. This is alright, this is actually alright.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, and here we are with the smack emeter. So, skip, how did it go for you?

SPEAKER_05

Well, high as it is, it was a newbie weed feel. That's what it felt like for those that are in the note, like newbie street weed. Uh, not very potent. You're probably in the low realm of high, but no potency whatsoever. Uh, not stoned, more like pebbled tobacco note very present. So it didn't usher in the high like most terps would. So the high feels low-key, more like a cigarette buzz, but still there. And for that reason, I'll give it a 6.5. It's a high, but very distinguishable high. Feels more like a cigarette high to me.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, Skip. Well, I think in this one we are close of mind. I will say, when it's aesthetics, hey, it was pretty looking, right? Dark greens, light greens, Bayesian yellows, and browns in there. Really pretty. It was a decent turp profile, right? Wasn't strong. Um, I gotta say it looked really nice coming out the package, right? In short. Uh, I didn't get a strong turp profile, which is something that the other rolling greens had spoiled me with so far. So I gotta say that didn't work out nicely. Right. Uh, I got the tobacco and coffee taste, did not get the vanilla. Did it make me feel relaxed? I can say somewhat. Uh, did it make me hungry? Not at all. Did it make me tingly? I didn't feel tingly at all. I don't know about you, Skip, but I didn't feel tingly at all. As far as the high goes, I'm gonna say, you know, this reminds me of Mel Brooks when I say that the high was nice, not thrilling, right? But nice, you know. I have to agree with you, Skip, that it felt like those five dollar nicks that I used to get when I first started smoking weed and didn't really know the difference between hydro or chronic or swags or whatever. And everything made me high. It kind of felt like that. And you know, I gotta say, let's reiterate here that this is a purple or uh what is it? It's greenhouse grown premium.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Uh, and you know, I am more confused than ever what these tears mean. I gotta be honest, Rolling Green. I'm really confused. So I don't know, maybe we need clarification on this, but this was not it was not spectacular. It was an unspectacular high. And for that reason, I have to give it a 6.4. Oh, so we're close. So I think we're very like-minded, and um, I'm not gonna say do better, rolling green, because I don't really know what you were trying to do here. I think what I need more clarity in is what these tiers actually mean. Because I've already tried a few of your products, and sometimes I get more smacked with something green. So I don't know. Anyway, maybe that's good, and maybe that's something that you want to happen.

unknown

Right.

SPEAKER_04

And maybe this is a positive message for you, Roland Green, but I am at a loss to know what you're trying to do here.
