Well, it broke about even. Uh, maybe I can even say a little big. And as far as the sample, it was definitely enough for yours and mine, and a little more for maybe one or two.

Nice. Medium-sized gundrop-shaped nugs, light greens with orange hairs, yellow and gold tricombs with long bronze pistols. Very, very strong apple, pine, and grapefruit notes. Very sweet smelling.

Smells like teabags, fancy teabags at that. Yeah, those fancy ones that you buy for like really expensive prices.

And yeah, very fruity. Let's see how it goes. First choke, a good one. Uh definitely has that apple thing going on. It's like that apple spice tea. Man, you nailed it, Skip. Yeah. Yes, very tasty.

Yeah, those notes like come together in a taste. The taste is a bit of a departure of the of the notes. The notes is more like uh it's formal. You can actually smell the apples and the grapefruit and all this things going on. The pine. The taste is like a it's a confluence of it, but undefined.

And that's why I think Skip nailed it when he said it's like a tea, because it's like having a tea made out of apple, berry, and citrus. Right. You know how it has the hints, it has the the bouquet, but it it doesn't exactly taste like it. Right.

It has more of an essence. There's more uh more of a note, so more of a smell than the flavor. The essence is there, but not the you know, and you know, there's a little flavor, right?

Let's don't get it twisted. There's a little bit of flavor in there. Like you can actually the apple really shines. Oh, yeah.

It does influence the taste, that is true. It makes it a little smoother, which is a novelty for me. Yeah. Apple tasting marijuana, right? It's nice, a bit sharp because that caryophylline is right on top, right?

It's like over the top of everything, so there's a little sharpness. Yeah, you feel at the end of the pull like you want to choke. Yeah. Wow, that's actually very good.

And we're waxing poetic here about the notes, but how's uh first impression there? What are you feeling?

Definitely feeling something. Spider sense is already tingling. I'm not even down to a third yet. And yeah, I'm tingling a little bit. I'm close to a third though. Um, it's just it's a tingle. Like I feel tingly. You feeling that body-wise? Yeah. So that's the first effect. A body tingle, which is funny because that's not one of the effects they said. Right. So I'm hitting a third now, and I'm definitely starting to feel something. Yeah, it's like I feel like the hairs in my uh my back are are like standing up, right? Do you feel that? Like a little chill, yeah. Yep, and then a little bit of uh fogginess in the brain area behind the eyeballs. That's where I'm at. Let's see. So far, let's look at the effects, even though it's a little early. Happy? Skip. I'm excited to try it, you know. I mean, he's happy, but it's because he's smoking weed, not because of the strain itself. Exactly. Focused? Oh no, no, relaxed, no, nothing yet. Okay, so we're not getting any of the effects yet. We are getting tingly, and that's an official effect. So wow. And the exhale is where you get more of the caryophylline, yeah. Yeah, it's like an easy inhale, but a hard exhale.

Yeah, yeah, that's why I keep reading the notes. That's why there's those moments of silence. I keep looking over the notes, like, how is this even possible for it to taste like this? You know, like a dessert weed.

It's a fast burner, and it's not because it's dry, because it was very supple.

Yeah, fresh.

So it looks like it, and it was a little like feathery, the butts. So it could be that's why. But it's definitely a fast burner. Like, I'm already almost approaching halfway, and you know, that was just a few minutes ago.

I was at a third, so a little not odd, but something that I haven't really seen before. And they're like not all the nugs, but most of them have this gum shot gum drop there.

Sound like some high talk right there. Can't say gun drop. Oh man, almost I couldn't say it there. You see, so approaching halfway now. There's definitely a high. It's a weird tingly feeling. Um, it's a funny feeling, right? Like, so my ears are tickling right now. It's so it definitely has body effects, tingly effects all over the body. Um, as far as headwise, I'm definitely feeling a little fogginess. But right now, it's more body for me, which is strange because this says it's a sativa dominant heart, right? But yeah, it's a little more body for me at the moment, even though I got the fog in the brain and back of eyeballs. Um, I'm trying to identify where exactly it is. I could feel the numbness in my face, you know. And you guys know me very well. When I start feeling numbness in my face, that means I'm high. So there isn't high there. Am I smacked? No, I'm not.

A little of both, because yeah, this is a Tiva dominant 70-30, but that 30 it's coming out. It's that indica is peaking there. It has a bit of like it is countering the sativa, I feel. Right.

It's like, and the body effects are like loud, yeah. You know, so so it's like it it's almost so loud that it's interrupting the mind effect. Okay, yeah. You know what I'm saying?

Like you, you're your the fact that your ears are tingling and tickly are overwhelming. The like, am I high? You know, because it's like, man, my ears are really tingly. So yeah.

Yeah, I know I sound pretty calm, but that's a good description. There's a lot going on here, you know, brain, body. It's a little, it's a little party in there.

Otherwise, a pleasant smoke after the first individual chokes, it started to kind of settle in. So the caryophyll kind of smoothed out the edges of caryophyll. Yeah, I'm still getting the apple. Wow, that's so impressive. I feel like I'm smoking an apple, like you know, apple peas or something, right? Yeah. Uh and I am getting the berry. The citrus kind of receded a little bit for me.

But the berry kind of came up a little more.

Apples, apples, apples. I could see why it was called Jelly Rancher. Right. I could see that too. Yes. Yes. I wonder what was the change, or maybe this is their version, and maybe that's why they're calling it hella jelly.

Or it might have been a copyright issue. And our friends at Lil and All But had that information that it's also known as Jelly Rancher, and they had it under Hella Jelly. So I guess both names are official. You know, I don't care what its name is as long as it gets me high. So the other thing that was interesting was the dichotomy between uh what Leafly said and what Lil and Allbudd said. Leafly said it's 20% THC. And All Bud and Lil's are like at 30%, around 30%. You know, so it's like, wow, that's a huge jump.

Well, that could be the range, you know. And they could be also uh using as an inference Jolly, Jelly Rancher as well. Possibly because I thought that too. I said, why such a you know stark difference?

I even looked at it again, like just like did I miss something? And I went back, and you know, that's what it said.

I mean, to be honest, the way I'm feeling now, which you know, I'm still uh more than a third in, and uh I feel the high there. And just to feel it thus far for me, I know already it has to be hitting that 29 to 31 percent for me at least, you know, to even feel this way in the beginning.

I don't know. Um, although it's harder for a 20% strain to hit me, if it has the right combination of terps and flavonoids, right, then it can it get smacked.

Oh no, you're right, yes.

But it has to be perfect, you know what I mean? Whereas a 30%er, you know, you don't have to worry about it if the if the uh the entourage effect is it's in effect, is in effect, right? You just getting smacked hard by the actual THC. Absolutely. But when you have a 20, 21%, 22%, you know, unless you're you know a new smoker or a lightweight, something like that is gonna be, you know.

No, you're absolutely right there. I'll give you the that's true. And a perfect example of that, haze. Right is anywhere you look, and it's almost all low, not low, but it's but it's usually around 18 to 20 percent.

And look how hard some good haze is hit.

If you get the right haze, man, that's you're gonna be that's gonna be your favorite strain.

And it's an 18 to 20 percent. Yeah, so that's a great example. But nowadays, I have to agree with you, Skip. I have now I'm like going to the dispensary and I'm kinda going past the stuff that says 18.

Right, right. And there is a difference, and that is a good point to make that it is because it's at the medical dispensary level, you know. Anyone can say what they want, the street level was a totally different monster, right?

Right, yeah, you know, because these are this is meant to be like a sedative and a and a painkiller, and so it's doing it.

For all we know, we could be the ones that are getting bamboozled. I'll tell you why. They're the ones that are telling us the THC content. I mean, you can have as many lab reports as you want, but what is official tissue? Very true, very true, and it is a selling point.

And you can also kind of fudge the numbers, right? Because when you say THC 30, is that total THC? So that does that include THCA, does that include CBD, you know, like and all these different aspects of THC, you can make a 30%, but that can only have you know real THC, you know, the one you actually feel only be like 19%, and the other 11% is something else, right? And that's not gonna get you high.

Exactly. So, needless to say, that the uh whoever, the marketers, the cultivators, whoever's actually putting the labels or printing the labels has a lot of room for this disparity. So, in order to, you know, maybe make that less of a disparity, maybe we should make it official or have a separate title for actual THC.

Well, I see that some brands do that, like some brands separated, like they say total THC, and then and then they say, you know, XYZ. XYZ. And I've seen that that they show their percentage of CBD, their percentage of THCA, like it actually says it on their label. And I say to you, companies that do that, I salute you, bravo, right? Because you're being completely transparent to your customer, and that's fantastic. You know, more companies need to do that. And don't get me wrong, I'm not saying companies are hiding their data because that's what COAs are for. Yeah, but I'm saying when you have a company that goes the extra mile and says, you don't even gotta look at the C V COA. Here's the information right here. That that's a huge statement. Right. You know, that's a huge statement to the customer. Transparency.

Well, to a certain degree, because you know, business is business.

And don't get me wrong, you know, we're not accusing, again, we're not accusing the companies of hiding or fudging the data. It's just their COAs, and COAs are independent, you know, testers testing your products. Right. That that carries a lot of weight. But you know, and then you turn around and say, This is what the COA said, and you put that on your label. That's that's man, you're awesome. So I'm down to my last third, and it has settled into like this really nice, comfortable high. I feel it in the tip of the back of my head. It's uh it's like a pinhead kind of feeling. Also feel it above my eyebrows, and of course, my eyeballs, my face is numb. Uh, it's a very, very um body high. Very body high. Whereas, you know, it started tingly, it's like a lot of different emotions, and but you're feeling them physically, right? Uh, as far as mental, like I said, it's a general fogginess, like a general feeling of uh, well, let's look at the effects again. Do we feel happy, Skip? Yeah, I'm happy. He's happy, he's happy, folks. Well, but are you chemically happy, or you know, or did you walk in the door happy? Happy disposition, you know, nice for you know. Okay, so we gotta give a check mark to happy because Skip never says that. How about focused? No, see, I feel the same way. That's actually the antithesis of what this has here. Um, focus is not really what I'm feeling either. Relaxed? A little bit, yes, I can say relaxed, definitely relax. That's funny. Can you be focused and relaxed? I guess you can. I guess you can. Uh, but yeah, definitely feeling the relaxed. As far as taste, it still has the apple. I swear it's that it's that cinnamon apple tea. Oh, the I know the one you know which one I'm talking about, like cinnamon apple spice tea or something. That's this is the taste, folks. Yeah, it's like you're sucking on that tea bag. Yeah, it's crazy. It's crazy. That's impressive. Yeah, it is. That's another interesting like aspect of the whole marijuana business, and how now they're also um manipulating terpenes. Oh, absolutely, right? So now we're getting a lot of marijuana that taste fantastic, taste like bubblegum, you know, or or other flavors, and you know.

And the other side of that is that the terpene use, even the unnatural terpenes, you know, sprayed on to things that are possibly not even technically marijuana. You know, that's happening a lot as well. And there are here in New York, a lot of people like the spray packs. They know what I'm talking about. It's basically just that is all terps, but sprayed on, not even of the innate strain.

Gets people high, but you know, there were rumblings that I've heard, you know. And you know, being in the game for a while, you you learn about a lot of people and talk to a lot of people. People in the know. And you know, that was become that's becoming a big problem in the in the out-of-market sales of marijuana that now there are other products like THCA, you know, that look like marijuana and kind of seem like marijuana, but they're not really marijuana, you know. Um and the dealers are bumping this off as marijuana and selling it to your marijuana prices when in reality you can buy something like this for far, far cheaper than what marijuana costs. You can buy a pound of this stuff for the same price. I mean, you buy an eighth of mar of real marijuana, you know, like it's like that level of difference. Um, and people are doing that, they're buying this stuff you know, um, because it's like considered hemp, because it's not psychoactive, right? So they're buying this stuff, they're aging it because theoretically, you know, supposedly if you let it live long enough in the shelf life, it might change a little bit in THC. Right. And then they spray with terpenes and say, Oh, here, here it is, so here's weed. And that was becoming a problem in the black market of marijuana. You know, that are you really selling me real stuff?

Right. Especially post-pandemic. Post-pandemic really did a number on everyone, you know, but especially the uh weed market.

And you know, that's tough for a lot of the guys that sell out there uh outside of the system because you know that tars you and and you know, all of you with that brush. And so that means that you know, now you know, even you, the honest guy, is gonna get like, oh, is this real? You know, like what? You know, and then don't, you know, don't I'm sorry to say it, um, but and don't get angry, you know, if if somebody does approach you with that, but the it's reality, that's what's happening out there, from what I understand. So be careful if you're still getting it outside of the system, you know. If you're getting it outside of dispensaries, I don't really suggest that anymore. But if you are doing that, make sure it's a reputable guy that you trust, uh, you know.

Because I heard that's what's going down. I mean, you know, the sword could have two edges too. A lot of people look at dispensaries and say, well, you know, do you really know what you're getting? This and that. And then it's true.

There, you know, there's a space there as well. I guess you only really know what you're getting when you grow it yourself. Well, yeah. Absolutely.

You know what you're putting in. Right? Yeah. That's the only way to put it. Absolutely. But at the dispensary level, there is at least uh a certain level of uh quality control. Well, I mean, at least seemingly so, because it is supposed to be, you know, a regulated market. But you know, but we are still in the you know young stage of this, but still is moving quite slowly. And so a lot of things are not being enforced. Quality is one of the price.

Yeah. Things that definitely need some a little more regulation. We don't need to we don't need to be uh you know, gestapo, but it'd be nice to have a little more regulation on these.

I mean you know, only because we're in the new stage, so it's a bit like you know, the wild west. It's the wild west. Unfortunately. You know, just the range in prices from let's say uh regular uh MSO weed to small batch weed. Yeah, of course, there's gonna be a price difference, but here it's stark.

I'll get I'll take it one further. You could even have both the same types, both small batch, and the the dichotomy and prices are ridiculous. Ridiculous. It's like, wow, uh really what what makes this one so much better if this jar says that they grew it the same exact way yours did? You're charging so much more money.

I think personally, and it goes both ways as well, because I look even to the commercial growers as to you know, why put an eight time multiple sometimes of what the small batch is offering?

I also believe. It's a well, it's probably one of the possibilities, is that this is where we see the size of the grower. Okay, I see your point. So if you have a small grower, really a small batch grower, you know, someone who's like, this is their their income, this little thing right here, um, yeah, I could see how they're gonna be, you know, more price forward, you know what I mean? But and then you got the big companies that we all know are here but are acting like they're not, you know, air quotes. Right. Um, because you know they are no, we we bought this small company, and yeah, that's the company that's in New York, that's the company running it. It's a New York-based company. Meanwhile, you you are own the company, kind of, you know, like a shadow owner. Right. So, and you're multi-state operation, right? And I think those guys, it's easier for them to sell it at lower prices. In fact, that's a great strategy because you're squeezing out the competitor. Oh, absolutely, you know, that small badge guy at one point is not going to be able to sustain his prices because nobody's buying his stuff, because they're buying this guy's stuff, and that would be fine if that's what the law entailed.

But in New York State, it was supposed to be an open market, of course, but geared towards the small badge to give them a moment of shine, and it hasn't been so not yet, but ironically, though, if you think about it, all these companies portray themselves as smaller companies.

Very rare you see a company that's like, oh no, we're huge. There are some. Yeah, there is some. Yeah, yeah, there are some. But a lot of these companies, and I'm talking about like the ones I see in the dispensary, they portray themselves as small companies. Yeah, that's true. So it is a selling point then here in this market. Well, if they're saying it's it's you get first dips, if you're that, of course you're gonna, you know.

You know, they're probably thinking all those you know, New Yorkers there put all that money, but anything you tell them is organic, they'll die. Which is true.

New Yorkers are very easy. If you if they like what you're selling, they just want to know how much. That's it.

Yeah, time is much. Well, this strain has made us especially chatty.

Numb face, tingly ears, the ears are still tingling. Ha ha, that's funny, actually. All right, let's go on to the effects. Happy? Yeah, Skip said happy, and yeah, I could kind of feel it too now. It's like a little bit of a euphoric feeling. Focused. Uh well, I guess when we got into our conversation, there was a little focus there, but I don't know if that's like succinctly what they're looking for. You know what I mean? Right. So, no, I don't know if I I want to say no. What do you think, Skip? Oh, I agree. Okay, so you agree with that. All right, so we we agree and relaxed. You feel relaxed? A little bit. Yeah, I feel relaxed. I could say relaxed. One that they should have said, honestly, because this has been a body effect that I've been having the entire time, is tingly. Yeah, like a lot of uh streams say tingly, and I don't feel anything. I'm like, what tingly? I don't do you feel tingly? No, I don't feel tingly, right? Right. This one did not describe tingly as one of the effects, and wow, it's very tingly. Yeah, it is. Um, and yeah, I think the the high is pretty great. Uh, what do you think, Skip? Yeah, this is nice, you know. Cruising altitude?

Well, I mean, gotta say, still feeling pretty good. Uh, there's a definite taper. Uh, I'm not as uh, you know, high as I was before, but the feeling is pretty consistent. Uh, I would say it's down to about a 70-75% clip. Um, going back to the effects, yeah, feeling the same way. Uh, and you know, I'm I said it was a pleasant experience for me overall.

What do you think, Skip? No, I definitely agree. I mean, as of now, one hour later, it has tapered off some, and there was a lot going on in between. So my attention has taken a lot of that away. But there's a lot of uh remnants, residual remnants of it. Uh the physical part of it, all of it is still there. And to couple that with the pleasant experience overall, it makes this a winner. Yeah, I think it's pretty good. Can't lie. I think we're ready for the smack a meter. We're ready.

All right, Skip, final thoughts. This is great. I mean, even from the beginning, the notes that jumped out at you at the package, the presentation itself, the uh even the shape, the gumdrop shape weed, was very unique. Very unique experience. And smoking it also was a unique experience. It was like we said before, uh, smoking a fancy tea bag with an added high there, which was pleasant and very consistent all the way through. Um, and I just keep looking at my notes in the packaging, wondering why this only costs $25 to $35 for the eighth. This is a winner, folks. I'm gonna give it an 8.7.

All right, wow, that's a big one. Okay, for myself, uh, hello jelly. Let's run down through the whole thing. Uh, you know, we opened it, it was beautiful, smelled right out the pack. Very pretty buds, light greens, light browns, yellows. It was like just very pretty. Golds, as you know, like which is crazy to see, like, right under marijuana. I had like a little bit of gold in it. It's really pretty. Uh, you could see all the tricones. Uh, you know, I smelled berry, citrus, and apple. Like when we opened the package, I smelled berry and apple, and then when we were smelling the bag, we're smelling citrus. So that was like that was a great experience.

Uh the buds were a little uh also an odd shape, a little smallish, but like he's like uh Skip said here that it was like gumdroppy. Yeah, really pretty buds. Uh as far as the experience, you know. The smoke was very pleasant. Uh, tasted wonderful, tasted the apple all the way through. Okay, citrus kind of was in the first half, berry kind of went into the second half, and at the end it was just straight apple. It was a fantastic high. A lot of body effects, remember the tingly and all that stuff, tingly all over, which for right now I think it's mostly over. Right. Even though I feel like the remnants of it. Uh, so you know, the high was pretty uh expressive, and it lasted most of the hour to the point where I was down to about 75%. So I think I think my overall experience was uh excellent. Uh, and I'm gonna say this it was overall like smoking a tea bag. Uh, you know, for its fruity bouquet and for its uh, you know, excellent high and staying somewhat pretty good staying power, I'm going to give it an 8.4. Like Skip said, it didn't get me smacked either, but it was a pleasant high. I have no problems with it, and I think I am going to help Skip test that theory and see what happens if you smoke more of it.
