And today we are reviewing Jungle Gems by Leo. Leal, a sapphire farms out of Newfield, New York, one of the state's largest cultivators of sun-grown weed, consistently yielding between 3 and 5% total terp profile.

As far as the strain jungle gems, very hard to find information on this strain, and we struggled looking for stuff. This is what we have so far. It's a 60-40 and Dika dominant hybrid of Miracle Alien cookies, and Nilla wafers. The terps are caryophyll, pinene, mersine, and lemonine. The effects are relaxed and uplifted. That's all we got. Flavors, earthy, sweet, and herbal. As far as THC content, neither our friends at Leafly nor our friends at all, bud, have any information about jungle gems. They have other jungle stuff, but not jungle gems. Guys, you gotta do better. Gotta do better, guys. We're counting on you.

Well, when we rolled the L and the J, it broke even. So we didn't have a problem as far as not having enough. In fact, it had enough for I think one more at least.

How did it look, Skip? Medium size, supple nugs, dark greens with rose gold tricombs, danky, sweet, and earthy notes all throughout.

Yeah, it was really pretty. I think we're ready to smoke it and find out how pretty it is. We're ready. Let's do it. Let's do it. Smelling it, uh smelling the J before starting, and I got the dankiness with a sweetness to it. It's weird. Yeah. Earthy danky sweet. Which is okay. Uh, as far as the pull. Earthy. And sweet. Sweet and earthy. You getting that? Yeah. It's like frankincense kind of thing going. You know, I wait for the day Skip says it's myrrh. Yeah. All right. Let's see. Let's see how it goes. It's not the one I like, the gray one. First pull. Wow, I got a blast of earthy there. Yeah. Yeah. It's almost like dirt.

Or like an herbal or something. Well, let's hope that's not the only characteristics it shares. So Leal Organics looks like it originated. It looks like it was a multi-state operation. Uh, and might have started somewhere else, even though they're from Newfield, New York. But, you know, at the very least, it looks like they're distributing their own stuff. It has a touch of spice. Yeah. A touch. It's mostly earthy with a little sweetness and a touch of spiciness. Right. Sometimes in the exhale, you get an herbal, like exhale. Pretty interesting.

And usually herb have, as everyone knows, that has uh as far as terps. Most herbs have a long a long list of terps because it could be one percent and they'll list it. But the top ones here are four instead of two or three, which is usually the norm.

Yeah, we're starting to notice that with um a lot of these strains, they're now having four dominant terps. One we saw the other day had five dominant terps. And when we mean dominant numbers, right, we mean that at least 20% of the terp profile is coming from this terpene. And you know, like we had one that was like 2020 2020, and it was like five terps. It was like wow now. Did it enhance the experience? That's debatable, right? Okay, so it's burning pretty smoothly. It's true. The choking is not on the inhale, right? It's more on the taking in because it's a very thick smoke. Uh first third in. Yeah, I do have some feelings in there. Something's happening. Yeah, I feel the pressure in the eyes a little bit. It hasn't happened yet, but I'm feeling like the general something is going on here. So it's just a matter of time. Right. Um, if I look at the effects, relaxed. Do you feel relaxed?

Oh, not yet, but I can see it's going there.

How about uplifted? That's kind of the opposite of relaxed, kind of. Yeah, it's like what are we gonna have conflicting emotions here or something like that? Yeah. Still it's uh it's not pleasant in the sense that it's not like you know, candy tasting or anything like that. It actually has like a pretty uh brute kind of pull. Yeah.

So not for the inexperienced or faint of heart. I'm starting to get the herbal in the exhale. One third in.

But it's a bit violent, if that makes sense, because it's like it's not subtle. It's right there. You see, that's what he's making.

Oh, yes, I know. Yeah, it's and you know, that usually happens when the dominant turp is caryophylling, right? That pepper. Yeah, and then pinine is right after. Yeah, like really. Those are like probably the most two most brute turps. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Wow. Cough it away. Yeah, that's the sound. Soundtrack to this package here. Yes, this one's a coffer. Yeah, I'm talking about every other pull you're coughing.

Yeah, that's what I was gonna say. This and the high, I feel it is coming on. You know, it seems a bit strong there. So that's okay, but it's at a cost.

Yeah, you're gonna pay for that pull. Yeah. As far as flavors, yeah, it follows the flavors. It's not the flavors, it's just the the smoke. Thick, thick smoke. Yeah. So Leo, as a company, is I guess considered one of the more um, I guess middle middle class, right? Yeah, you could say that. Lower middle class, right? Their eighths usually go anywhere between 25 and 30, 40, right?

Yeah. Which is pretty much the lower. This, yeah, it is the lower end. But then this particular one, Jungle Gems, is usually well, let me backtrack. Lil, the one-eighth is typically 25 to 35 dollars. This one here, everywhere we looked, was more expensive. It was under 30 to 35, almost 40. So something Lille has going on here that they priced this one higher. And I've looked in several places because I thought that was just an anomaly.

Okay, I'm about halfway now, and I do feel a high settling in. It's that weird feeling that you have. It's like almost like right before a large storm. That's kind of the feeling I have right now. Yeah, it feels that weird. Like that atmospheric kind of pressure, but like it's unstable. Yeah. Yeah, that's actually kind of how it feels. Weird. That's how I feel right now. So I don't know where it's going from there. Or am I just already high and just not knowing what I'm talking about? I don't know. No, no, no. Definitely the atmospheric thing. No, I feel it. As far as the physical senses, it's funny. I feel it kind of in my metaphorical horns in my brain. So, like if you had horns, that's where I would feel it in my horn buds. Right. Actually feeling it there physically. As far as medicinal qualities, wow, yeah, I'm pretty numb. I'm not feeling any kinks or anything that I walked in here with, so it's probably good medicinally. Yeah, and I had a kink when I came in here. So yeah, that's definitely like uh I had one right by the shoulder blade, and I was like feeling it.

And that's gone. So it's strong. I can tell it's strong. And perhaps we're not overwhelmed yet because we are experienced and have a high T you know tolerance level. But yeah, I can feel it.

Oh, I can feel it too. Yeah, yes, it's definitely strong. It's strong. And it's definitely there. The question is, what it is.

And another, you see, I'm just I notice another thing. As strong as it is, it's not why we're like still chill about it, is because it hasn't really hit the head yet. I'm feeling like this uh strong pressure in the chest and in the ear.

I'm actually feeling it at the top of my head. Like if I had horns. Okay, like at the top of my head, I'm feeling it. And if you're feeling it in your chest, and I'm feeling it at the top of my head. Yeah, something's definitely going on. I definitely feel high, but it's like a scared high. Yeah. That's weird as that is to say. Yeah. Yeah, and you start taking shallower pulls, like yeah, yeah. Like, oh, what's going on here? They may not take it too far. Like, you know, you pass the point of no return and you can't do nothing about it. End up with a killer migraine or something. Try to mitigate that boxing with a gorilla. Down to the last third. And let's run down the effects. Relaxed. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Space. But scared. Uplifted? Yeah.

I I mean, I think so. Like, I kind of am in a good mood, right? Yeah. Um, and also I should put scared as the third effect. I don't know why I'm scared. It's got me like paranoid. They left out that effect, perhaps.

And it was like neither Leafly nor All Bud had any information on Jungle Gems. I don't know if that's because it's a new strain or just an oversight. Maybe uh it's felt that it's a specific brand, you know, brand-based, right? And so it doesn't need to go all over the place with it.

That could I don't know. That could be it. It could be uh Leal's, you know, their strain, something they created.

It's funny, I got this weird pain in the top of my head right here. And it's it just came out of nowhere because I didn't hit my head, or this is a strange high, but not unpleasant. Right. You just feel like you're in an odd space. And if that's high talk, yeah, I accept that again.

Oh, but I understand totally because it, you know, some strains that give you that general bubble high, like no direction. This one is not that only because for a few reasons. One, because it's strong, so you feel like a presence on you.

Yeah, it's like I'm wearing like uh ear muffs or something. Is weight, and I feel that in my abdomen and in my chest, like that pressure.

Wow, interesting. And in the top of my head is like this weird pain. It's so funny. Oh well.

This is the latest Leal offering. Uh this season, Lil has been very prolific. They have thrown out uh quite a few strains. Yeah, yeah. We have reviewed quite a few strains because they just keep coming out, and you know, we just grab what we see. Um, we try not to discriminate. We're just trying to cover as many of each brand as possible. Some brands, it's very hard to do that because you know they throw out a lot of different things all the time. Some brands are easier because they're very stalwart with what they do as far as production and output.

Yeah, but I gotta agree. Lately, Leal has been throwing out new stuff that you know hasn't been around at least for a year. And um and they've been decent, very good. Although I have no issue with that, Leo.

I hope that a few of your you know specific strains you make year-round. I hope that you don't just change all your strains all the time because that's not gonna, you know, breed brand loyalty.

Yeah, of course. It makes sense to have, you know, uh quote unquote uh bread and butter, if you will. You know, something that keeps the lights on.

The bread and butter strain, the one that you know it, you're you know what you're gonna get. Right. Yeah. It's it's strange how the the dispensaries don't seem to like honor that. I know myself, if I find a strain I love, and this is the strain, this is the strain, I love this strain, I'm not gonna stop buying it. Right. And I'm not gonna go to other strains because I'm gonna quote unquote get bored or anything like that. No, that's not how it works. If I like the strain, I like the strain.

Well, I see what you're saying, bro. And I mean, it goes into going into this the dispensary and trying to get what you like or what you usually have. And what's happening is they don't have that, they have new wares from the same companies that dominate the scene. That is not a problem, but again, we're going into hit and miss territory. You know, we need a bread and butter. And some companies, yes, they do keep strains around a long time.

Yes, some companies do it, some do. Um, but some companies don't, right? And so we're not talking about you specifically, Leo.

But but lately, you know, we've been riding with Leo for a minute. So lately, yeah, we've seen that change, and that's what we're voicing. That we're seeing a slight change. Who knows what's going down, business end or what have you. But yeah, Leo, we notice.

So yeah, you know, a couple of your legacy strains, keep them pumping year-round. That's our advice. All the others, change them around all the time, no problem. One or two of your staples, and I you have a couple of staples, a couple of your strains, I think, even won awards. Yeah. So make those staples, you know, bread and butter, like Skip said. Yeah. Keep them pumped. Our advice, take it or leave it, for what it's worth, right?

Yeah. Down to my last third. And uh looking at the effects, relaxed, definitely uplifted. Yeah, I feel good. Um, if I can think of any other, I'm no longer scared. I just feel like a nice high. My face is numb. My eyeballs are like really numb. It's weird. Um do they look like you know no? No, you don't look like I don't look affected, just a bit dim. That's about it. Oh, yeah, that's interesting. It didn't happen. Uh, but it feels like it is, it really feels like it is. Um, my forebrain, the frontal lobe, very uh uh expansive right now, expanding in a rapid pace. Uh at a rapid pace, excuse me. Expanding at a rapid pace. And um yeah, down to the last third. What do you think, Skip?

Yeah, it went down nice, or it's going down nice, I should say. At first, of course, as you guys heard, uh, yeah, it was rough, but it seemed that was the price of initiation because now everything is smooth but high and very expensive.

It's uh the sweetness has gone away, it's now more earthy, and it's because it has now developed some sort of acridity, like there's uh you know uh some harshness, if you will. Uh still it's pulling. I'm not I'm not coughing yet. Yeah, that first coughing set in the beginning kind of gave way to like a smoothness, and hey, there's no problem with that. Uh oh, spoke too soon. That's me trying to maximize the last few pulls. Wow, that cough really set me up for another level. Oh, uh, you know, it's one of those highs. Now I know why I'm scared. Because it's one of those highs that you're like having a great time, but like you can see outside the the bubble that you're in and see like, yo, this could this could get bad. You know, this could get scary, yeah, you know, like and you're just like, hi, and you see, like, you know, the guy with the Jason mask, hi, you know, like just waiting, she that bubble pops. So you're like, all right, let's keep the bubble, let's keep the bubble. But yeah. So it's a good high, a really expansive high that can border to something scary. I guess a good uh strain for Halloween.

And it has magnetism, so I I could safely say that it's a good thing, like to share amongst people, you know. You don't have to be hot boxing the bathroom on this one by yourself. Yeah, yeah, it could be social.

In fact, it's um there's a little like a goofiness about it. Right. You know, you it's something that would enjoy company. And you it might be even contagious, the silliness or goofiness factor. Right. You know, if everybody smokes, that is. If somebody didn't smoke, they're just gonna be looking at everybody that smoked, like, what's wrong with these people? You know, there's always a few of those in the crowd. Well, we always need a designated driver. Yeah. So I, you know, if there's one, go for it. Or two, you know. Who knows how big the entourage is? Right. But that's the that's the guy that gotta get like the first girl of the night, bro. You gotta hook that guy up, yeah. Like, yo, you get your pick, man. Which is the girl you like, pal, before anybody else. Because man, you're the guy doing the driving. You gotta get hooked up with something or or guy, which gal or guy, right? You know, right? You wanna pick first. You pick first, buddy.

Are you feeling but let's just start off like coming from it? Like I just rolled into my chest. Did you see that? Yeah, it just literally fell apart as I went to Ash it. Oh, it looks like that's that. Uh yeah, it's uh wow, it's it's a very, it's like Skip said this, this ain't they saying it's 6040 and Dika dominant, and it's sincerely in my heart. If you didn't tell me that, I would have said, This is an awesome sativa. Yeah, don't you feel that way? Yeah, yeah. I have all the heady feelings, you know, the funny feelings in my brain for a little while. My the top of my head hurt, like all this weird stuff. That's like sativa stuff. Yeah, you know. Meanwhile, I don't feel anything at all. I feel completely like uh great body wise, no kinks or anything.

So yeah, this is like a and I said that. From the beginning, because even handling it when we first opened the package, and it looked, I said, is this indika? Because it looked like a sativa. And those that know know the difference, you can tell one is bushier, one is longer. This one is the latter. And then when it came to handling it, it was very fluffy, very and even grinding it. It really didn't need much because it was very fluffy. And then the smell, I was like, man, this is is handling like a sativa.

But you know, you have like that domino mask feeling, you know, right? And it's like you feel it like it's a little like heavy, you know, like it's a little strong, heavy. So you feel light and you feel all this stuff, but it's like I said, like right outside the window, you see it like, oh man, that's heavy out there.

Wow. So it has like both you could say the attributes of high in the sativa and indika. But it's like the sativa is is being expressed right now. Right.

Where the indika is in the body, that pressure we feel, that's that's the pain in the head, you know, that stuff. Yeah, but man, this is an interesting strain, I gotta say.

Definitely we gotta do some more work on this, uh, finding out what is this, because some say 6040, some say, you know, so we're really gonna have to get down to it. Yeah, we're gonna have to dig deeper.

Yeah, you know what that means, folks. That means smoking it. That's dig deeper and smoke somehow. Uh, you know, funny enough, another thing that I noticed about Jungle Gems is unlike their uh the other fare that uh Liel has offered at this point, it's one of the few that they uh it seems to me that has never been offered in an in a 28 gram one ounce pack. Right. Uh a lot of the other offerings that we've tried are are offered in larger sizes, and I haven't seen this one in a larger size.

So again, what's the question here? Exactly. Maybe it's something new and they're trying it out, trying to mark it out. But hopefully they'll bring out that 28 grams because I sure would like to see it.

Right. I'm pretty high. It's hard to determine how high I am right now or like what exactly is going on with the high. I just know that my head feels like a helium balloon. And I'm telling you that I don't know how I feel about these things. That should tell you all you need to know. Right. And I guess let's let's see how this goes for the hour, right? Uh, feeling pretty good, I gotta say. Um, not much of a taper from where I was at. It actually settled down and just became like a high, you know, a really good high. Uh, you got into what I was doing and felt great. Still feel great now.

And for a moment I tried to, you know, I pushed the high away, but folks, it bounced right back and sustained the whole hour. Now, it wasn't the same speed and altitude, albeit because it's an hour later, but definitely it's a nice, I will even say groovy high, kind of old school.

Skip, what do you think? I like it. I mean, it's uh Indika dominant as far as everything we've researched so far, and I'm disagreeing here, man. This thing feels like a sativa now, not 100%, but all the nice attributes of sativa, that's what I'm feeling. And I like it, especially if it's true that it's a Indika dominant. So I would say, good job there. For that, I'll give it an 8.2. Nice high, nice smoke. At first a little rough, but again, that was just the cost of initiation, and now I'm part of the gang.

Well, there we go. Maybe he's gonna end up being the leader of the pack. Who knows? All right, well, let's do the rundown. Uh all right, so we opened it and they looked pretty nice. Uh, it was slight greens, dark greens, some amber and brown hairs in there. This beautiful champagne colored tricomes. That was a really pretty feature. Loud turb profile, right? Earthy and sweet. They were like medium-sized nugs and they were a little supple. Uh, you know, when we started smoking it, uh, first half was really harsh, really, really harsh. And we're experienced smokers. So if we're telling you that, trust me, it was harsh. Uh, still, through the harshness, we got the earthy and the sweet. On the back end, we started getting the herbal on the exhale. That was kind of cool. Uh the smoke was decent. Uh, at the second half, it was actually pretty smooth, at least towards the end. But you know, that's the end, so that's normal. As far as the high, at first it was just some relaxed, kind of uplifted, kind of a little bit scary feeling because you didn't know where exactly where it was gonna go. And it felt like it had the the opportunity to be a you know, a bad trip, you know, something where you end up with a headache, not feeling too great, you know, when you can push the issue and take it too far. But no, it ended up settling into this nice little groove, and it was a really good, you know, hour. It felt great. And so for that, although I can say uh it didn't get me smacked, but it was an enjoyable high, it was something that I found fun, fun while I was doing what I was doing. It was just a good high all around. So for that, I'm also going to give it an 8.2. There you have it, folks. Even Steven flying high, right? Good experience overall. Goes to that. Would you do it again? Sure.
