The funny thing about this company is that they are actually a subsidiary of One Off Manufacturing from Brooklyn, New York. Now, OneOff does not actually grow the weed. They're a distributor. They work with AP Cohen, who actually packages the marijuana, and then they distribute it to the dispensaries that you and I visit and buy stuff from. They're also known for more than one brand, not just strain gang. You can also know them as Runts or Doobie Labs, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. As far as the strain history, it's a 70-30 sativa dominant hybrid of C5 haze and Cuban black haze. The flavors are citrus, sweet, and herbal. Terps are lemonine, linolul, and caryophylline. Effects are energetic, creative, and happy. Leafly says it's 18% THC. All but says 20 to 23%. And strain gang themselves say 32.8%.

Back with the rope. How did it go, bro? Well, it broke big for sure. And I didn't think it was going to because the the buds are actually very loose and flowery, but it really broke big. I mean, it was more than enough for the blunt, the joint, and maybe left over enough for two more. How did it look, Skip?

Well, it had the classic Hayes look. The only thing is it's not as big as I'm used to. So it's like a Haze Jr., pale and dark greens with orange hairs, and it had that prevalent Piff Haze church smell. It was all over the place.

That's right. And the the buds were slightly dry, which is weird because it says it was just packaged a month ago. But uh yeah, they were slightly dry.

And it came in a sealed jar as well. It was sealed. So that's a little strange.

And no moisture pack in there as well. Very true. Could have made the difference there in the suppleness.

Hello, poo day, my old friend. Let's see if you smoke the same. All right, we will find out. Has the right taste profile like old haze? Okay, let's see. A little lighter than the old school version, but let's see. Slightly sweet note. Very good tasting. It's funny because it's a very feathery, flowery uh uh strain. But then when you roll it, you smoke it, it doesn't have the same characteristics as a feathery, flowery strain. It's burning a little slow, it it broke big, so it's so weird. It's feathery, but somehow dense at the same time. So this is very interesting that this company is also responsible for Runts, which is a pretty big New York brand. Also responsible for Doobie Labs, which is famed for their uh blue lobster strain, if I recall correctly. And these are also under AP Cohen packaging and distributed by one-off distribution. So this must be a very large company. Now I always wondered when it comes to the celebrity collaborations, does the celebrity bring a strain? Does the celebrity just you know smoke different strains that they have there and then say that one, that one, that one, that one? You know, like I wonder how exactly does this collaboration work? Is it just that he's putting his name on stuff, doesn't even smoke or use any of it?

Well, they um to play devil's advocate, they all um they have videos which could be presentations of him smoking it, the whole group smoking it, uh giving it to other rappers. It's all over the web, you know, and and rappers giving their own little mini reviews right quick about it. And a lot of the uh dispensary brands that uh get together with uh especially rap celebrities, I noticed that they they do the smart thing at least. They pair the celebrity with what usually they would rap about on record. They did that with Snoop Dogg before he got his own brand. And uh for those almost everyone that listens to the locks know that they're always big enough Sour D, Hayes, you know, a lot of the New York brands. So it it makes sense to have the locks or styles Pete to co-sign, definitely.

But is he like you know, a paid uh uh actor, you know, someone who's just the face of the brand, or is it that you know he actually had an active hand in cultivating the different strains that his brand sells? It's an interesting you know question.

They even have the sour, also, they have their own version of sour.

And there's a few different celebrities now that are holding brands. I mean, the one the other day that I saw was uh Stay Mello, which is uh Carmelo Anthony, the bat former basketball player.

Um, that is his strain, and there's been a few different collaborations, right? And there's the Mike Tyson. Mike Tyson, there's method, right? To Cal, the Method Man brand. Um, yeah, I guess we're gonna have to try those too. So I'm about a third in, and I could say that yes, I'm starting to feel a little bit of the hay symptoms, a little bit of the heaviness in the eyelids, uh, a little bit of the fuzzy, it's not even a foggy feeling, it's a fuzzy feeling in your brain, back of the head, back of the neck. Uh, it's an old familiar high if they get it right.

I feel the same high coming on, that very calm haze high. The only thing is that at this point, I feel it kind of like light.

Like a milder version, am I right?

Yeah.

I feel this, I feel the same thing. You know, because when you used to go uptown and get it from the the guys uptown, you know, those guys used to come home with some really strong fire, total fire in the bag. And you know, I think I if I also if I recall correctly, I think it was black, Cuban black haze that they used to have. So if this is a child of that, hopefully it has the right notes. One off one off manufacturing and AP corn licensing. So basically, AP corn is just the brands, right? The different brands. So they find a cultivator and they say, All right, let me buy your weed, then they put a brand on it, slap. And but then that that stands to question then. Is the poudet haze, for example, always the same strain from the same cultivator? Good question. Or were they just like, here's the same seeds, right? And you're growing, and you grow it, and you grow it and you grow it. But then that if that's true, that's always gonna lead to slight variations in the product. Of course, yeah. I mean, it is a perishable product, so that's gonna happen regardless, but that's even more variation because no grower grows exactly the same, right?

And a lot of uh growers when they uh their varietals you see, especially the ones with the classic names, when you look closely, is their particular blend to mimic the effects of that particular strain. Yeah, it's hard to find the original. I mean, they can call it haze, you know, and have their own proprietary blend of this and that.

So I've about halfway in. Classic haze symptoms, classic haze feelings, just milder, but there, still there, still feeling it. Very nice. That used to be one of my favorite strains once upon a time. Everybody's favorite. Yeah, everybody's favorite, that's true. Uh so let's do the rundown. Uh, do you taste citrus? Not anymore in the beginning. It was like, but to me, it was more like a sour candy, right? Yeah. Uh there was a sweet in there, a little sweet, a little sweet.

Herbal. There, that's what I'm getting now. Getting a lot of herbal? A lot of herbal, floral bouquet.

Okay, so then that's pretty much on target. Do you feel energetic? No. Not really, not really. Yeah, creative. Not more than usual. Happy?

Yeah, I could say a little happy, a little euphoric. And I'll add relax. That I do. Yeah, definitely relax. Definitely relax. You know, it's just a familiar feeling. Now the question is, how strong do you get it? That's really all it comes down to. But it's the old familiar haze feeling. If those those of you in the know will know what I'm talking about.

And this this pack here was a bit dry. Although it came sealed and everything, it was a bit dry. So I'm wondering if it were more supple, would would the effects be more immediate? Good question.

Or stronger. Right. It feels great, but it feels like it has a ceiling. Yeah, like a limit. Yeah. Do you feel that too?

Yeah.

Yeah. Really nice. Feels like haze. It has the right notes.

But like there's a uh a ceiling that it hits. Yeah. Yeah. And then the question remains if you smoke more. That's what I was thinking. Does it get stronger? Right. Or does it just ride the same? Or right. It just stay keeps hitting that ceiling just for a little longer.

Because that's the only thing missing here. I mean, everything else, you know, it's there. Even the same haze high is just, you know, usually it's like a punch in the face. No, I don't feel like you're usually smacked by now. Yeah.

Sitting here trying to revel in it. Exactly. So I'm into my last third. It's yeah, the same feeling. I'm just running the same feeling, writing the same feeling. Skip, are you finished?

Holy moly. Let me get out of the way so that uh we can segue into Skip's just finished segment. I can't believe it. For the second time in Giggling Highland history, Skip finished before pro. And remember, I'm the joint, he's the blunt.

But let's just start off like coming from the tree.

Yeah, I mean, I gotta say, I finished. Honestly, it's because I was taking really deep pulls there. I guess I was you know waiting for a godot there. And um, you know, my anticipation was just that that it was gonna be just like Hayes, and it yeah, it is. But I really took those deep pulls, and the high is there, it's just not as strong, but it's decent.

Which means that for an hour the question is gonna persist: should we smoke more? But we can't, we can't, testing testing uh conditions. That's what I was thinking. I don't know if uh the high will endure the hour, but folks, that just sounds like after the smackamita, we might have to take another uh crack at it for scientific purposes, of course. Of course, of course, like not even close to finish. I'm just blown away. I did the opposite. Oh yeah, yeah. I was actually like in it, you know, like tasting the old haze, like exhaling it and like feeling the feeling, you know, like wow, it's like uh uh that old, you know, those old slippers that are like so comfy, they fit like perfect, like a glove, and your feet, you know, that feeling. Yeah, this is this was one of my favorite highs for a very, very long time, and then until it became cost prohibitive and hard to find. Yeah. And when a lot of dispensaries first started uh bringing stuff out, you know, you look for your favorite strains, and this was one that couldn't be found. Yeah, so it's nice to see that strain gang is actually putting something together to bring back this strain because it should not be forgotten and all these new strains, per pure haze, you know, it's one of the classic New York strains. Yeah, definitely. So it should never be forgotten, never forgotten. Um, and I'm glad that somebody brought it back so that people could think about it and start making their own um you know cultivations of the strain. Uh as far as wow, I'm still not finished. This is hilarious.

And how the market goes, you know, they um they throw money where the waves are higher. So as this gets more and more popular from and judging from the reviews, it is pretty popular already. You know, other other cultivators are gonna jump in feet first into this, hopefully.

And you know, full disclosure, you know, we are also like serious potheads. So, you know, the average layman pothead, this might be like a crazy super awesome high where they don't they don't have to worry about, you know, like they might get smacked out of this. Yeah, I didn't consider that. Yeah, you're you know, we are a little hardcore. So, you know, we have to admit that. Remember, we always say that if you're not a very experienced pot user, to you know, grade what we say a little bit higher for yourself, maybe add a one to what we're saying because we are very experienced, you know, I tolerant, right? And then there are of course people that are more tolerant than we are and should probably grade down, but you know, we're somewhere in there. The featheriness of the marijuana makes me have to relight over and over just to make sure it's lit. Yeah, you have the same thing, yeah, but it it's keeping the sour candy kind of thing till the end and the kind of a little herbal lost the sweet, but that always happens towards the end of a J. You always lose the sweet, that's the first turp to go always the first uh turp or flavor.

Really enjoyable smoke, I gotta say. Decent smoke, man. Really enjoyable, very easy to just kick back and relax on this, you know.

Okay, and I with that put out right there that you just heard, that is my just finished. So just finished, like I said, very enjoyable, very fun. I actually enjoyed the smoke itself, like smoking it. It was pleasant, it tasted good, the exhale was nice, you know. It had those classic, it hit those classic terp notes that we all love. The terp was perfect. Turp is perfect. Yeah, I am high, I am I am high, no doubt about it. Um, but I am not smacked, and knowing this this strain very intimately, I am not as high as you know I used to be, I guess is the right way to say it. Right. So let's see what happens. Uh one hour later. See you in an hour.

Well, feeling pretty good. Definitely on the come down. Uh, but it was a good high, good experience. Definitely the old school uh, you know, uptown pudet feel. Um not as strong as I remember the old uptown pudet feeling, uh, but it was still an enjoyable experience. Uh and yeah, it was a fun hour. We actually, you know, sat here, hung out, had some laughs. So it was actually uh pretty good experience. Good for socializing, I would definitely say.

What do you think, Skip?

Definitely. It was a decent smoke, you know, all throughout. It's not as strong as the original, but um, yeah, it'll keep you in the realm there. Pretty interesting.

All right, Skip, what are your final thoughts? Hey, I mean, this was what it is. It's haze, folks. It feels like it, definitely smells like it. It's not as strong. And for some, that might be a plus. For me, it's a bit of a detriment. I mean, I enjoyed it though, and I definitely will do it again. For that, I will have to give it a 7.2. Definitely fulfills the nostalgia value there. The smell is incredible, folks. But it's not as big and robust and perhaps a bit dry than it should have been. Maybe a little fresher, might be stronger. I will definitely give it another try.

All right, Skip. Interesting. Well, I like to do the rundown, so let's do it. Okay, so flavor, citrus. Didn't it taste citrus? Definitely got the sweet, definitely got the herbal. Um, it was more like a sour candy as far as citrus. Uh, and it stopped being sweet towards the end. Um, broke it up, it broke very big, which was really nice. It was very pretty buds, smelled fantastic, smelled like old school uptown poodé.

Uh, you know, they were pretty, um, but it was a little dry. And we weren't sure if that's just a strain because it was just packed and according to the dates on the package, and it was sealed. Yeah. So unless somebody had it over a heater or something like that, which would be terrible. Smoking experience was great. Uh, the smoke itself was great. The the earth, you know, good smoke, nice feel. It felt great to actually smoke it. It felt very nostalgic.

Um, the high was fantastic, felt very familiar, but unfortunately, it wasn't as strong as I remember. Um, and yeah, that definitely affects it a little bit. So for the nostalgia factor, but the fact that it had a ceiling, I'm going to give it a 7.8.

Because I really enjoyed the experience, but it didn't get me to any levels that uh, you know, deserve a higher score. Not smacked. But on that note, still an enjoyable high.
